In order to obtain this achievement you will need to sell Undamaged Pelts to all the General Store Merchants. This is quite easy to do, once you unlock New York of course.

There are 9 General Stores Total. 3 to each area. You'll notice a pound symbol on the map if you have discovered it already. Sometimes the game will recognize it without you having to enter, other times I had to walk in the place before it appeared on my map. Look for a building with red trim reading "General Store" and 2 flags hanging from it.

The 3 in the Boston Area are Hancock's Store No. 5, Elizabeth Murray's Fineries, and Child's Still House and Dry Goods. These are spread through each District.

The 3 in the New York Area are Rhinelander's Sugars, De Lancey's Imports & Goods, and Van Brugh's Spices. These are also spread out in all the districts, with one way on the bottom of the East District and the other right on the border of the North and East District.

The 3 in the Frontier Area are The Walking Haberdashery, The Milliner's Wares, and the Murdoch's Barter.

Now with the Frontier being so big and hard to uncover in the map, I will lay out in which part of the Frontier they are located in the hunting section of the map.

The First store is in the Northern Center of Lexington. The Second is Northern West side of Concord. And the third and final store is Mid East side of Monmouth.

Good luck and happy hunting. If you feel this is inadequate in anyway, please comment before you down vote please.
I JAME5 IGreat guide. Thanks very much for taking the time to write it. But I have one question... where's the third one in Boston? I have the one in the north, and the one in the central but I cannot find the last one (presumably in the south) anywhere. Any help would be great. Especially a picture of your map showing where it is perhaps?

IcarusPainGreat guide. I would just like to add to your Frontier section.

1. The Store in the Lexington area is called: "The Milliner's Ware", and that is right below the Fast Travel marker, above the Tavern.

2. The Store in the Concord area is called: "Murdoch's Barter", and that is to the right of the Fast Travel marker as well. Note that the store is just at the end of the Northwest Concord area and at the edge of the Diamond Basin.

3. The store in the Monmouth area is called: "The Walking Haberdashery ", and this one is north of the Harbormaster for this area.

I thought this will help add to your guide.

Also to others reading this guide; I personally cannot stress that the game does not show the stores or certain other interactive markers on the mini/main map unless your right on top of them. So when looking for these stores look out for "a building with red trim reading "General Store" and 2 flags hanging from it.".

Thanks for the guide and info, and once New York is open for me I am clicking my way back to your guide.

JyejitsuA stupid question: How exactly do you get undamaged pelts. I've hunted a lot of animals and killed them several ways but never got an undamaged pelt.

Chimaera36@Jyejitsu - you need to kill the animal with the snare or blade. The bow/gun will damage the pelt. Do some counter kills against wolves/cougars/bobcats/bears and you will get pelts fast.

JyejitsuAha alright. Well that means all the pelts I currently have are undamaged since I nearly only got them with the blade :3. Thanks for the info!

TanogrusI'd appreciate a more thorough guide, to explaining exactly where these general stores are. Take some screenshots of your game's map, so we can find them quicker :)

TanogrusOn another note...typo in your Guide as well. You say 3 stores in Boston, yet you list 4 of them.

There is no typo. Reread the info again. Only 3 stores listed. Child's still house and dry goods is 1 store.

Sly StrategistKeep trying. This game is unfortunately glitchy. You could possibly have a glitch, but I didn't have any problem with it.

SyyLfc86Do the Peddlers count? (The horse and carriage merchants)
If not, then im gonna have to do all the shops again, quite annoying seeing as you cant fast travel to them, especially in the Frontier :(

Sly StrategistNo the peddlers don't count. Only the 9 shops.

neeker75I sold pelts at all nine General Shops but the achievement didn't unlock. The pelts I sold all said "this pelt is in perfect condition" - would this be the undamaged pelts required? To make it consistent, I went on a wolf kill run, using only counter kills with the blade on them and obtaining an inventory of wolf pelts.

I don't know, I'll try again later today, going through every store again. Should be easier now since they all show on my maps.
Posted by neeker75 on 20 Nov 12 at 02:23
Sly StrategistYa they should work. Game seems to be very glitchy in a lot of the achievements. I'd try it again, if it doesn't work then wait till thy release an update.

NeoSm0kethe caravans are NOT counted towards the 3 shops in each town. :) just wanted to add that because i've seen people saying it did not unlock, just as mine... until i realised that i traded with caravans.
