Here's what I did:

I saved a tune that I did nothing to for one of the starting cars, I then signed out and on a second profile downloaded the tune and did this:

Free play
Top gear west
Circuit race 1 lap
1 AI

I did 49 races, hitting restart at the end. 24 hours later I received 19cr on my profile unlocking the first two achievements.
So I repeated the process but only did 45 races and this morning received 14cr and unlocking the achievement.

So secondary account bang out 100 races using your tune should be just over 2 hours and in the morning you'll unlock all 3 tuning achievements.

Hope it helps, I found this to be the quickest way

TheSaucyGibbon adds some great tips/alternative solution. Thanks and credit goes to him for the following:

(This assumes that you have created your design and tune and have previously applied them to your boost account vehicle)

1. Switch off your Kinect sensor, it will try to recognise you and log you in on your normal profile.

2. Be sure that your normal profile is logged out.

3. Log in as your boosting profile.

4. Grab a pen and paper.

5. Start Forza, go to Free Play.

6. Select track : Top Gear / West Circuit

7. In Game Options, change max drivatars to 1, laps to 1. All else leave alone.

8. In Load Tuning Setup, search for then 'download and install' your tune again (just in case).

9. Start Race, track will load. Watch that loading thingy go round and around in circles for some time.

10. At Pre-race, start and FULLY RACE your first race. Sorry about the shouting there.

11. At Post-race, scroll across and select 'Restart'.

12. At Pre-race, select 'Start race'. While the race is loading, grab your pen and draw a short vertical line on your piece of paper. This is your record of having done one race.

13. As soon as you see 'GO', press your 'start button' to pause the game. Scroll all the way across and select 'Quit Race'.*

14. If you have 120 pen marks on your piece of paper, go to Step 15. If you have less than 120 pen marks, go to Step 12.

15. Congratulations, you can stop now until your next session tomorrow

peacemak3r So you basically did 2 days of 50 races each day? Damn cause I did 100 races over 4 days and I still get only freelance.
Posted by peacemak3r on 11 Dec 13 at 06:02
code45709 Yeah, I tried to find info online because I kept getting the message about more use and I'll receive daily payouts, so thought 50 as a test to see what happens didn't want to do 200 and get nothing, also at the same time it was with a design but I got nothing for that at all
Posted by code45709 on 11 Dec 13 at 06:10
peacemak3r Yeah I basically did 20,30,30,20 in 4 days. I guess I'll try doing 50 today and see what happens afterwards.
Posted by peacemak3r on 11 Dec 13 at 07:03
code45709 If you do 50 and get paid day after that'll confirm its a 50 race threshold, let me know what happens please..thanks
Posted by code45709 on 11 Dec 13 at 09:27
peacemak3r So I did 50 today and I received 12k on tunes only, design was still freelance. Right now I have 150 in total over 5 days of (20,30,30,20,50). So it's either a 50 race threshold or 100+ races to start earning.
Posted by peacemak3r on 12 Dec 13 at 00:19
Buckswana FYI: Just finished designs, seems like minimum 120 races/day for it to count. Did 3 days in a row @121 races each day, with a default tuning with tire pressure changed, and a vinyl group I made and applied to both doors and the hood. Got freelance the first day for both designs and tunings. Got 19k for designs the next 2 days, but only 12k each day for tunings for whatever reason. At least you get payouts for fewer events for tunings, so should finish it tonight with another 50 races (I hope).
Posted by Buckswana on 13 Dec 13 at 00:27
shelbygt5252 I received the same payout as buckswana so I can confirm. 122 races, 19k design, 12k tuning
Posted by shelbygt5252 on 13 Dec 13 at 01:56
shelbygt5252 Just to add that I was professional status on my first try, boosted with one account

code45709 Cool thanks for all info, I'm posting my design findings as I've just unlocked the final one for earning 30k

DutRank Okay so can I do just 50 races a day like the guide says or do I need to do 122 like the comments say?
Posted by DutRank on 20 Dec 13 at 02:35
I Ebon Hawk I I'm pretty sure you need to do a minimum of 120 races per day for it to count. I haven't heard of anyone saying 50 a day is enough.
Posted by I Ebon Hawk I on 20 Dec 13 at 02:58
Buckswana You'll get a tuning payout from 50. You won't get a design payout though unless you do 120.
Posted by Buckswana on 20 Dec 13 at 03:05
erod550 I did just over 150 in a day and got 18k for designs and 11k for tunes. You don't have to actually do the full lap for it to count either. Just start the race, once the timer counts down and the race starts, select quit race and then restart and just repeat that. Each restart still counts as a use even if you didn't finish the race or even one lap.
Posted by erod550 on 20 Dec 13 at 04:45
code45709 I did what I did cause I couldn't face 100 plus races when I wanted to play on my profile, crystalbluecook i would do 50 races a day, you will get the achievement, the colour of money requires the 100 races in a day so if you are wanting to combine achievements do that, for me I had many trial and error but still only got freelance
Posted by code45709 on 20 Dec 13 at 06:46
MrNoLuckFox Well, in two days I did 200 hundred races (100,100) And the first day I received 17k for designs, none for tuning, and 2cd day I received 17k for designs, 7k for tuning.

iDavies xP 100 races on 2 days (so 200 all together). I only receive 16cr for designs and 6cr for tunes :( you think this is because I'm doing drag and it's to do with time as well as no. of races?
Posted by iDavies xP on 16 Jan 14 at 09:22
VIII OLFIO 81 hi
I have a question about this achievement.
Tomorrow I will boost the medals online with a friend in private matches, on Indianapolis oval with only 1 lap (we need also to raise the miles achievement, so we alternate to lead the group and win the race), If we select the same car and we prepare a tune setup, when we start i select his and my friend uses what I have prepared?
Posted by VIII OLFIO 81 on 07 Feb 14 at 18:38
code45709 Hi, I would say as long as you both do 50-100 you should get a payout the day after

Deadpool 1194 My question, I'm trying to get this achievement to pop during one of the TA winter olympics events. Does it come up when you load the game or when you go to your messages to check?
Posted by Deadpool 1194 on 09 Feb 14 at 13:02
code45709 I can't remember, I think it pops once you get to main menu
Posted by code45709 on 09 Feb 14 at 13:45
TheBigBB The achievement pops when you reload the game after 7PM EST the next day. Make sure to quit and reload. I want to reiterate that in my testing the money is based ONLY on races ran, not on money won. I had my other profile do a full series of races one day and got 0 from it. I had it do 140 drag races the next (10 heats, 1/4 mile, private MP match vs CPU) and I got the achievements.
Posted by TheBigBB on 11 Feb 14 at 00:05
VIII OLFIO 81 It's better do the laps in top gear west playing in free race or in multiplayer in private match?

teddy perry mk2 how do you save and share a tune ?
Posted by teddy perry mk2 on 14 Feb 14 at 21:48
o SeduLOUs o Not sure what has changed but for the last 3 nights I've only been getting about 5k credits for 110 races. I've got all my design achievements now, so might try doing 200 races today and see what happens.
Posted by o SeduLOUs o on 20 Feb 14 at 08:35
ukBp Roy Yesterday me and another helpful dude did just over 150 drags, I got about 11K for designs and about 22.5K for tunes. This left me on 99% of 30,000, don't know whether to be happy I got so much or annoyed that a couple more races would have been enough for the achievement!
Posted by ukBp Roy on 26 Feb 14 at 09:53
Cynexis I did 60 races with a dummy account and I got nothing for tunes :/ I got like 11k for design and nothing for tunes. Why is that??
Posted by Cynexis on 27 Feb 14 at 04:51
VIII OLFIO 81 You need to do at least 100 races in one day, I suggest you to use the drag mile method with 10 heats, do it 10 times (10x10=100 races). It is the fast way, you don't need to press x after every race.

Posted by Cynexis on 27 Feb 14 at 12:16
o SeduLOUs o You don't have to post every 5 minutes dude. It doesn't make sense that you got design money for <100 races and you should have got tunes money as previous posts suggest a minimum of about 50 races to start earning. Are you sure about the number of races that you did and that the reward you got was for designs? I did 110 races with the restart method and only got ~5k for tunes which was less than I was expecting but better than nothing.
Posted by o SeduLOUs o on 27 Feb 14 at 12:20
code45709 Hi, sorry been busy working a lot, drags were available when I did this, also with the multiple patches I don't know if turn 10 have altered anything, I would suggest 2 accounts 50 races per account and see what happens, this worked if things have changed the solution will need to be altered/removed if it does not work now, also maybe now you need to do some tuning for it to work also if you don't do this daily you get reset to freelance status which essentially means your back to square one
Posted by code45709 on 27 Feb 14 at 15:08
code45709 Sorry drags weren't available
Posted by code45709 on 27 Feb 14 at 15:08
ukBp Roy After 60 drags vs AI on a second profile I got 11K for designs and about 4.5K for tunes. I actually got marginally more for designs from 60 than 150+ a few days ago!

Boothdom So, here's my two-penneth to hopefully add a bit more clarity to the situation:

I mainly used the Start/Quit/Restart method in Free Play to rack up the "race count" as quickly as possible. It doesn't matter about any of the settings as each race only lasts a matter of seconds. I'd start the race, wait for the countdown, accelerate across the line (not even sure this bit is necessary, but it was the habit I got in to) then quit out. It's important to quit rather than restart at the first menu or the race doesn't count. I wasted an hour and 150 races experimenting with this! At the second menu restart rather than continue. This drastically reduces loading times.

Here's my payouts:

Day 1: 120 races - 11kish for designs, 4.2k for tuning
Day 2: 130 races - 11kish for designs, 4.5k for tuning
Day 3: 60 races and 60 complete drag races - 11kish for designs, 4.0k for tuning
Day 4 250 races - 12kish for designs, 21k for tuning

There are a couple of things to note here.

Firstly drags seem to make no difference. They take a hell of a lot longer, so I'd suggest not doing them (although if you are going for the multiplayer medals with a friend then its a good "two birds one stone...") I could do around 60 drags in an hour, and just about double that using the start/quit/restart method.

Secondly, for the last tuning "mega-payout" I got a different message. It said I was an Elite tuner rather than Professional. This makes me think that rather than it being a linear credits to race ratio it's more relative to the rest of the community. It's interesting that 250 race uses bumped me from Professional to Elite that day in tuning, but not for designs...

Lastly, and I'm sure this point been mentioned before, but it's worth reiterating, it's uses in a 24 hour period. The cut-off for me was somewhere between 11 and 12pm GMT.

Cool, hope this helps some people.

Dom

Chrome Daddy0 Hey all,

I'm getting really frustrated with this. I have been trying to get all the tuning and design awards using my sons gold account for three days. No joy, keep getting freelance notices. I think I've probably killed at least 5 hours with all different methods I've found here. Is it possible the latest patch somehow changed this? Can anyone confirm if any methods on this forum have worked wince the 433Mb update? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Posted by Chrome Daddy0 on 30 Mar 14 at 01:02
o SeduLOUs o Quitting the race and restarting x150 worked for me well for design but with low tuning payouts. Note you have to actually quit the race and then click restart on the next menu option, you can't just hit restart from within the race over and over.
Posted by o SeduLOUs o on 30 Mar 14 at 09:20
Chrome Daddy0 Well I just did the quit, restart, race method 75 times on each of two other accounts I have access to. I'll see at midnight gmt if it finally worked. Up until now I've done it all on one extra account 120-140 times with only freelance messages, two times with the rubber band drag trick, and once with the restart method. This will be my last attempt, interesting how it appears no one has unlocked this since the update, as stated to tight in recent winners. cry
Posted by Chrome Daddy0 on 30 Mar 14 at 13:02
unkled20 @Chrome I am in the same boat as you. I did some of the design and tuning boosting while going for the online medals with no issues, other than very low tuning payout. I just tried doing the quit, restart method yesterday with a second account with no payouts today. I did about 135-140 races and didn't get anything. I am thinking that it may be patched too. Has anyone had any luck with this recently.
Posted by unkled20 on 30 Mar 14 at 13:41
Chrome Daddy0 Well still freelance with two accounts doing 75 each. Guess I'll never get this gold. Too bad I accepted the update.
Posted by Chrome Daddy0 on 31 Mar 14 at 00:16
ScorchPSO Same problem here, just finished 200 races and logged on, nothing. Just a freelance message. Looking at the recent players for this achievement too... Nothing since 27th. Is this glitched now or "fixed"?
Posted by ScorchPSO on 31 Mar 14 at 02:56
ScorchPSO Just checked the official forums; Even people who were "Legimate" Tuners I guess you could call them, are having the exact same problem; NOBODY is getting credits anymore for Designs or Tunes since the patch - They've all gone from "Elite" to "Freelancer" There hasn't been a response from Turn 10 but I think it would be safe to say that the patch has broken this.

I can't see this being a "Fix" because 2 hours work for 10k credits (which is 2 races) is definitely not on their list of "Exploiting the system" - I can't see this being a patch to stop people getting the achievement and more of a unexpected glitch.

I'll keep checking the forums and hopefully a response will crop up.

ScorchPSO Try boosting today guys. My friend and I got the first set to unlock and people on official forums got money this morning from boosting yesterday. Boost today and write back tomorrow if it worked so we can get an idea if its fixed now . I'll be doing some myself so I'll be sure to write back

Posted by Capt Poopey on 01 Apr 14 at 20:39
Chrome Daddy0 Bingo!

Did 120 races "quit, restart" restarted right after the go faded from the screen.
Design 10,287, Tuning 19,109.
Posted by Chrome Daddy0 on 02 Apr 14 at 00:59
ScorchPSO Definitely fixed. Just got 10k design 19k tune :)
Posted by ScorchPSO on 02 Apr 14 at 01:18
unkled20 It is fixed for sure. I just got some credits for design and tune as well. I only got about 4k for tune though. How did you guys get so much? Did you change a lot of things? I only changed the tire pressure so that it would be free for my second account. Will I receive more credits if I change more things on the car?
Posted by unkled20 on 03 Apr 14 at 02:03
Capt Poopey Yay, got 10k design, 18k tuning. Used TG West, 121 'races' quitting and restarting the same as Chrome Daddy0. Happy times clap better get back to it then...

Capt Poopey The one thing I wanted this week was a simple and concise method to get these achievements done. So here is my version of what's worked for me today:

15. Congratulations, you can stop now until your next session tomorrow.

* thank you Turn 10 for not allowing me to scroll to the left. It's the little things...

I did 122 (just in case) in 47 minutes, if anyone can beat this without falling asleep you're a bloody legend. Playing 'Eye of The Tiger' really loud on repeat helped keep me awake and motivated.

Hope this helps someone down the track (no pun intended). If this stops working again or if DEATHCODE wants me to delete this though please let me know.

Vagrant PL TheSaucyGibbon, great tips man. but tell me one thing - should the races that we quit be visible in the race stats? or the number there will not go up? i guess not, so that we need a piece of paper. but just to be sure ;)
Posted by Vagrant PL on 03 Apr 14 at 12:00
code45709 @ TheSaucyGibbon some great info there, if you want I can copy all that into the solution (obviously giving you credit) as people may not always bother with reading comments. But at the same time I think thats good enough to post as a solution in itself. thanks.
Posted by code45709 on 03 Apr 14 at 13:36
o SeduLOUs o @Vagrant, you can check the number of valid races done by checking the number of times your design has been used (from your own profile) before and after your session.
Posted by o SeduLOUs o on 03 Apr 14 at 16:36
Vagrant PL oh right, obviously. thx
Posted by Vagrant PL on 03 Apr 14 at 18:14
Capt Poopey Thanks guys! @ Vagrant PL - yeah, I also noticed that my race counter did not increase. If I get some credits later today then everything is fine still.

@DEATH CODE45709 - mate, please feel free to use any of my ramblings laugh no need to credit. We're all helping each other to get these achievements done.
Posted by Capt Poopey on 03 Apr 14 at 20:24
Chrome Daddy0 I have been using the exact same method as TheSaucyGibbon, except I use an Excel spread sheet to track my races. I'm wondering why the first night I got over 19 k for tuning and the two following nights only 3k. Caused me to have to do a 4th night of boosting.angry Anyway great site and great members, thanks to all.
Posted by Chrome Daddy0 on 04 Apr 14 at 01:23
Capt Poopey OK, great news (for me at least). My 2nd session with 122 races has netted me 10k for design and 3.5k for tuning, thus popping all the related achievements. Which is weird as 'Color of Money' requires 30k (I've only been paid a total of 20.3k for designs) and 'Artisan Tuner' requires 30k and I've been paid out a total of ~22k). Maybe the 'freelance' notifications I got last week actually paid me a small amount (I did three sessions of various methods). As my favourite Kazakhstani reporter says 'great success' dance
Posted by Capt Poopey on 04 Apr 14 at 06:30
code45709 Glad payouts are working again for everyone.

I've updated the solution, I'd like to thank everyone for all the info they've provided in the comments section. Its a boring grind this achievement especially if you don't want to become great at tunes and/or designs.

I really should go back and finish off this, 4 more manufacture's affinity needed and it's complete.
Posted by code45709 on 04 Apr 14 at 10:56
Capt Poopey You can do it man, my best advice is to make a kickass motivational music playlist and grind it out! Thank u for including me in your solution, our Forza friends will have a better chance of a completion smile

F1SH M0NG3R Finally got it! Something that might speed it up for the rest of you, When I was first doing this I was doing 120 races/restarts and getting 4k, By just doing another 80 in a day I got an elite usage for my tunes and 19k reward instead.

wes coasn Just a heads up, if you have a second profile, you can be AFK overnight/work while your second profile does all the work. In the span of about 18 hours, my wife earned 110 medals, ranked 0 to 10 and got me some good credits. A little over 15k for tunes and 8k for paint. I used the Honda S2000 C class so this is a good option.

CTM AudiRS6 Two friends and I setup a 1/4 drag, 10 heat event with 5 AI cars. Did 12 heats = 120 races. Got $9k for design, and $17k for tune. Did 130 races tonight, will post back what we get then.
Posted by CTM AudiRS6 on 20 May 14 at 06:30
CTM AudiRS6 Second results are $9,365 for design (vs $9,410 the first time with less races). And $17,169 for tune vs $17,003.

UP Johnny I made a topic at the Forza forums. There are some other players with the issue. Keep it running guys, so Turn 10 will hopefully fix it soon!

Simm I finally received some credits today along with elite status and the first few related achievements. Try boosting now, it seems to be working again.

El Puzo I did yesterday 50 laps on the Indianapolis Oval track. Today morning I got the freelance message again :S So I don't know what is going on :S

JACK LAYT0N ^ It's working now, 50 laps isn't enough. You need at least 120 but for a big reward (25k) you need 200 laps
