Hey Guys!

Me and my friend Zucram found out that all the locations of the sharing events are fixt NOT random!

- I found the White Whale 3 times att the same location (580.110)south west of Kingston. One more spawn point for the white wale is (640.900)

- For the Royal Convoys there are one common location they spawn witch is outside of Petite Caverne area (901,285)

- The Social chest can be found regularly at The Great inagua inside your bedroom (845.468) And one more regualr spawn pointy is at Abaco Island right beside the small boat (615,831)

If the events doesn't spawn you just need to wait 1 hour or so and try again!

IMPORTANT!

To share these events with your friends, you need to play the game at the same time online to make the sharing events visible on you map for you and friend.

This Achievement sucks we know but we finally beat the pattern and found all three locations in 1 day of gaming.

ElyohI discovered a potential problem that others may have experienced. I had 2 friends with the game who played it at launch (When the spawn rates for social things were much more frequent). Feeling something wasn't right, I had a look at their games and their maps were covered in the freaking convoys, the very ones I couldn't find anywhere. After deleting them from my friends list, a little over a day later I saw HellCreeper666's convoy they found and got the achievement off that.

tl;dr, some people seem to have bugged out on being able to be shared with, don't be afraid to delete friends (Who needs them anyway? laugh) and add new ones from here.

EggChrisTI think this might be glitched for some people. I have a royal convoy event that I have discovered and it has been there for over 4 days now. I contacted ubisoft about the issue just moments ago and hopefully they will get back to me about a solution. If they do, I will be sure to let you guys know.

Goots 88^agreed. My naval convoy has been there for 2 weeks, found a white whale while I was near Kingston but showed up near Abaco Island and a friend shared a chest and it didn't count (even though I think u have to share chest not find and loot a friends)

Good luck to those who have been having the same problem as I was. Just keep adding people who are still playing the game to increase your odds of getting the event you need.

Goots 88FINALLY!!!!!! After 3 weeks of searching for a social chest. Big thanks to Sparkle Emotion and HellCreeper 666. Went back and forth from Abaco to Great Inagua every 30 minutes and finally popped a social chest. Only thing is the social chest i got at Great Inagua was on left (west) side of beach near hideout opening, next to the rowboat. 9 hours remaining EST.

EurydaceWhen you say "to share with your friends", you're not referring to finding them for the achievement, right? You mean to get it to show up for them they have to actually be online when you find it? Or do you mean this achievement is impossible to get if you don't have a friend playing online?

MagnumZeroYou need to have friends, online, playing this game, at the same time as you. Otherwise, these will not show up as I have been so slow to discover. I have only two people who have played this game on this system and they are never on playing this anymore. So basically, I can't get it unless I add someone AND they add me. It seems there is that distinction now with the way Xbox1's friendslist now operates. So flipping stupid if you ask me.

UbulaI'm asking for my little brother, who isn't worried about the achievement but wants the Abstergo challenges. He hasn't found a single event after 40+ hours of playtime. TheNutman69321Just FYI to anyone going for this achievement, the guide makes it seem like you have to play this game at the same time as others for this achievement. You don't. You don't even need to have people on your friends list who have played the game. You just have to find the 3 events (they are possible in way more places than are listed in this guide), nothing else is required. As someone else listed earlier use this thread to make it much easier to find them.

wolfzero01I don't know if this might help, it might have been a fluke that it happened, but when I was doing the fleet missions, I happened to notice that for the first time it gave me the option to help a friend with their fleet mission. I didn't notice if they were on at the same time as me since there wasn't any notification that they were. the next time I played the game one of my friends had helped me with my missions. I was then sailing around looking for ships to plunder and found a group that I wanted to hit, during the battle a naval convoy spawned in and the achievement popped. again I don't know if helping a friend with their fleet missions and vice versa was the reason but it might be a way to get the social events to spawn.

A Gamer X360Just FYI, I can personally confirm that you do NOT have to have any friends playing AC4 in order to get credit for the share. And, it has been posted that you don't even have to have any friends with AC4 in order to get the achievement. You do, however, have to be the one that actually "discovers" the event. If someone on your friends list finds it before you, it will not count for you. So, it is actually counter productive to friend/follow a lot of AC4 players since it will only increase the chance that someone else will discover and share it before you do. xBFOGxBefore attempting this achievement make sure you go to go to the menu and click on options then online and turn on "Enable Sharing Notifications" and "Enable Community Challenges". For some reason this was turned off on my game and i could not unlock the achievement. A friend and i tried for hours today to unlock this for me and i found all 3 events at least twice each. I then discovered this in the menu, reset my console then went back around to the same events (turns out you can farm the events if you quit) and the achievement popped! This REALLY needs to be added to the guide!

CenzBrosGuys for anyone who can't find it right now go to salt key bank 494,630 to find a social chest you got about 4 and a half hours! I was trying to unlock all taverns after I gave up looking for the chest and next thing I know I saw the blue chest achievement pop up. Good luck huh.

JuicyjamsOk time to throw my 2 cents in on this one as the solution had me panicking. I found the solution, then found a session and joined it adding all people going for the achievement to my friends list. Then immediately I found a uplay chest. Got excited and told a friend to hop on to share it. He never did so I opened it and decided to look for the other 2 before getting off the xbox. Keep in mind none of my friends or people I added from session were on or playing it... I located the ship and the whale in under 20 min. Boom achievement. Bottom line you don't have to be online at the same time. Use Vr English's post it worked perfectly for me the locations were flawless. Most likely you just need to have friends on your list that have played it. So when they do it kinks the items found to them so they find them easily. You don't have to do anything but locate them.

General ArcaneI just found the social chest I needed to unlock this achievement on the docks at Grand Cayman. No friends were online playing Black Flag at any point while I was playing. And only one Friend on my List has ever played the game. Found several Royal Convoys all over the map and lucked out on the white whale near the Black Trench wreck, accidentally highlighting it instead of a ship while looking through the spyglass.

Exalted EntityYou definitely do not have to be online at the same time. I did it by myself without looking at any guide or interacting with anyone, so I know that you don't need to interact either.

You can either get random events on your own while traveling, or, I believe, if you have someone on your friend / follow list, and they find something, then it also appears on your map.

Exalted EntityYou have to keep sailing about. I sailed lots. And I had nearly completed all achievements in the game around the time I actually started looking. Also specific spots are more prone to having an event than others. The ones listed in this solution are actually some of the highest trigger spots. Though the events he listed might not happen at the spots he listed (each spot he listed can be any event).

Chronic KillerBeen looking for a social chest and finally found one at 362 815. It didnt show until I was like 2 feet away from the chest. Also it showed up after sending a bunch of ships out on missions from my fleet for the first time. I never used my fleet but after using it for first time I finally got a stupid social chest.

Not true. Your friends don't need to be online at the same time. Please change this.

Ow and i unlocked this today by only sharing a White Whale and a Royal Convoy. Both found within two hours after starting the game for the first time ^^ I didn't even had to do a social chest, which is obviously a bug.

KugareI found 3 convoys and 3 whales by myself... during my playthrough. I just had trouble to find a chest, but after 5 attempts i found a chest on Abaco Island. You can find 2 small boats here, but for the social chest you have to check the one in the southern part of the island.

The fixed locations are not useless, because there IS a spawn chance. It's annoying to check out the places, yes... but if you completed the game and still want the achievement there's no better way. You just need patience.

I know i have to be patient with shit achievements like this, the thing is it was a breeze when i played the 360 version.
Hell i didn't had to do anything for it, bumped into the chest by accident, found tons of wales and convoy's by just playing it.
The one version is a complete different story, i agree there IS a spawn chance but out of the 100 times i checked nothing :(....so i bet my money on the SOCIAL map that's in another guide on the site.

Obviously there isn't anything wrong with the server since people unlocked the achievement today.

My advise: Just check both suggested chest locations (or whatever event location you need) and leave the game afterwards and come back later. I still had something to do in the game and checked the both locations 4 times... with a 1 hour break each time, but without luck. I went offline for 3 hours and came back and the chest appeared. Maybe the reconnect to the servers triggered the chest, but i'm not 100% sure. Oh and make sure you have the share feature enabled. Pause > Options > Online

SHOTOKANKATANAIf you can't find events at all make a new uplay account and connect it to your gamertag from uplay.com, disconnect your gamertag from your old uplay account first. It's a problem wich causes syncing to be off, as a result events don't show up on the world map.

Connecting to a new uplay account solved it for me. Don't worry about uplay points, they carry over once you boot a game that you had the points for initially.

If you have problems disconnecting your gamertag and reconnecting to your new uplay account contact ubi support. I had trouble reconnecting but the support helped instantly when I called them.

@NapalmNiko - Yeah it took me a LONG TIME to find a chest. I was very fortunate enough for someone in the solution to post coordinates of a chest location

Don't worry, if you have done most of the game, you should be able to do a loop round using a guide to track all possibilities of chests.

ValakCSo I found all three and no achievement. Checking the abstergo challenges it's at 0/3 for the white whales and at this point I killed 3 and found another four extra. Thinking it was a bug on my save, I created a new one but it still stays at 0. Anybody encountered this glitch?

HawkeyeBarry20From my experiences if you see a royal convoy on your map don’t go to it. Not sure if because it’s already been found so you can’t share it but I tried 5-6 times and got nothing. Finally, I was checking different points I found a ship holding 10,000 gold and did not have the icon, went to it and that’s counted for me.

Dooey HooI just unlocked this today and found all 3 instances in one session. You just have to be diligent and use the maps people have shared on here. As a matter of fact, I found them all with nobody on my friends list even playing the game, so I’m not even sure that’s a requirement. I do believe you need to have a Ubisoft account however

XPac23I just got this today without even trying. I was just 100% clearing all of the islands in the easy sections of the map and I just happened upon them.

I also didn't have anybody online from my friends list so that's not a requirement.

I found a whale in the top left section of the map, a royal convoy in the top right section of the map and the chest I think was on the starting island.

PerilousPWNYou for a fact need to be connected to uplay. Was in a session where half of the people were not connected to uplay and the other half was. People that were connected were able to find/share events. Everyone else could find anything, including me. Luckily I was able to connect to Uplay after changing my password and then importing my friends from Xbox on the uplay app. The next time I loaded my single player, all the events people in the session found appeared on my map. Hope this gives everyone more certainty on this achievement.

PerilousPWNAs an update to my last comment, one of the people that was not able to connect to Uplay during my session was able to finally connect today after removing people from her friend's list until her friend count dropped below 50. As soon as that happened, she automatically connected roll. She then was able to start seeing the events and got her achievement almost right away :)

Here are the coordinates from the events she found:
Royal Convoy (895,478)
White Whale (877, 654)
Social Chest in the Great Inagua in you house (845, 468)

kiomxCutting friend list below 50 (I did 49) worked wonders for me, after playing most of the game with online issues. I would advise doing so early in the game rather than waiting, as the social chest is a bit challenging to find, and also the fact that the friend list issue also blocks Kenway's Fleet, which is quite enjoyable and helps build gold really fast.
I suspect glitch is related to the fact the game tries to pull your friends' scores to compare against you, and somehow it fails to manage building leaderboards for >50 friends

AdayinI found a Chest, 3+ Royal Navy Convoys, and about 5+ White Whales today. However, my in-game Abstergo Challenges tracker shows that I only have 1 shared Social Chest event, all 3 shared Convoys, and 0 White Whales. I even signed in with an alt on another console and played through the tutorial section of the game and the White Whales won't register as shared events.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: it was the online settings! Somehow my "allow community challenges" option had been disabled. Turned that back on and almost immediately got the achievement.
