You must kill 4,000 foes to unlock this achievement. It can be done in any mode (co-op/single/Xbox live/local play) on any difficulty.

Please note you must do all 4,000 kills on one campaign/save. You can NOT do 3,000 kills on easy and do 1,000 kills on hard.

If you have NPC players I would suggest killing them off (by playing them and jumping off a ledge) or set the team to defensive mode.

The two best way to grind out this achievement is:

1. Mephisto's Realm mission (you can mission select it or once you get to it during regular play). Once in Mephisto's Realm there will be five areas that contain five "puzzles". We want the one closest to the Extraction Point. To make sure your in the right place the Book of Majernik says "Thy way shall be lit by the flames of impure soles". From there you can kill as many enemies as you want as long as you don't toss them into the lake of fire in the middle. Also note you can toss the enemies off the outer sides to work towards your Widowmaker achievement.

2. You can do this on the simulation disc with Asgard as the map. So you will be picking a versus mission like Ulik, Piledriver, or Crimson Dynamo. The asgard maps have unlimited respawns and there is NO REASON to kill off the main boss (unless you have not completed the disc yet). That's right all your kills towards your 4,000 kills, 500 enemies off a ledge, and kills towards costumes are saved even after the fail of the mission. So you can spend all 20 minutes killing and not worrying about taking out the main boss. Also note you can toss enemies off the ledge when you get to the bridge part to work on Widowmaker achievement however not everyone can toss enemies over the bridge's wall but I know stronger hero's like Hulk, Colossus, or Wolverine can.

On your journeys to unlocking The Ultimate Super Hero achievement you will unlock (if you have not already):

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360)Secret AchievementThe Secret Achievement achievement in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360) worth 18 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360)Secret AchievementThe Secret Achievement achievement in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360) worth 5 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

You can also unlock/advance in these achievements:

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360)Secret AchievementThe Secret Achievement achievement in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360) worth 107 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360)Secret AchievementThe Secret Achievement achievement in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360) worth 42 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360)Secret AchievementThe Secret Achievement achievement in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360) worth 14 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

Also if you switch to different characters during this effort you can make great strides to finishing off your comic missions and unlocking costumes.
a rabid fuzzleThe part in Mephisto's Realm can also go really quickly if you're doing it with another person. The flow of enemies is steady enough so you won't get your body switched with a demon while throwing one of his buddies off. I'd recommend using the Asgard map for costumes as it can be exited without penalty of the game failing to save your kill count with a certain hero to advance their costume unlocks. Don't do Asgard on co-op though, it has tendencies to lock costumes and such in co-op.

FafhrddThanks for the additional information. I did co-op in Asgard for costumes and had no issues... but not saying there can't be....

NumptyDrizztCheers for the guide after completing the game I did the Piledriver mission in Asgard about 5 times and killing around 300 enemies a go.

dc0drAnyone not having this unlock for them? I have completed everything else in the game and done the Piledriver mission at least 20 times, still nothing.

NyllonSomething neither one of these guides answered is do the kills carry over between new campaigns?
Posted by Nyllon on 24 Jul 11 at 02:12
FafhrddI will add this to my achievement guide.... thanks for catching it.

The answer to your question is no. You can not carry over kills between campaigns. So if you got 3k kills on easy and start up a hard campaign you will start at zero kills.

crazykandymanI got a question if you have one cOntroller and you are playing single player form the start and you walk up to your first sheild cant you just remove all uncontroller players and play with one person? Instead of killing them. and if you are playing in co op does the second controller gets his kills too.

FafhrddI never tried to remove all the players off the board but me, so I am unsure.

If you are playing co-op the second player, anything he/she kills, will count towards his/her own kill count and not yours....

crazykandymanwill i did that and i got the 50 emenys off the egde achievement when i was playing by myself so i would think thats fine and i will post again if I got the achievemnt just removing them

TheNutman69321":Please note you must do all 4,000 kills on one campaign/save. You can NOT do 3,000 kills on easy and do 1,000 kills on hard."

This is partially incorrect. Kill achievements do carry over between playthroughs, however you cannot carry over stats from easy so that part is right. You can't do 3,000 on easy then 1,000 on hard. However you could do 3,000 on Normal or Hard and then do 1,000 on easy.

FafhrddCan anyone confirm what Nutman is saying is correct? I never tried this method and can't find others online that have tried this (I am sure their out there, I just can't find any posts).

Lord BaneJI would also suggest doing 'The Destroyer' achievement prior to this as you average 4 kills per level and you will have at least amass 400 kills when you get the achievements (That's how I got mine)

OtoGiSanSo if you play it first on Normal do your kills carry over on Hard?

Bears Scare MeI wasn't able to get to the puzzle area on Mephisto's Realm. The puzzles were already solved and I was unable to get to the infinite spawn area

Elite1111111111Second solution worked. First solution didn't (areas were blocked off).

Darkness727420I know this game is dated, but I played through on normal then transferred my stats to my easy playthrough and got throw 500 enemy's off a ledge. I had done most of those on my normal playthrough. So they do carry over but only from normal/hard to easy.

Darkness727420I just got it. There is no way kills DO NOT carry over. THEY DO carry over
