Update: If you got even a single grind badge while this was active then you should have had it unlocked.

I assume as with the last challenge that this won't show our progress:

You'll need to play some of the story missions in order to unlock the ability to get badges.
Once unlocked, simply grind on any rails or wires to get awarded a badge.
Unsure if under-grinds on wires count towards this. Probably not.

You must change rails for progress to go up, I tried setting myself on a small circle rail in hopes I could leave my system on at night while it grinded (pun unintended) badges but no go.
Video of how you should be trying to go for progress on this:

You'll also unlock the current solo challenge if you haven't already and you make the counter go high enough.

Likelyness that we'll reach the goal is pretty low.
CDKI'm guessing we're not going to hit any of these Community challenges if we can't even unlock this with the help of the game being free-to-play for 24 hours on Saturday.

mcnichojWe had over half the amount before the free weekend, so who knows.

Beast IncarnateI don't think we'll make it being so close to the wire, but I guess we'll just wait and see. I don't feel good for any of these community challenges honestly. :/

What in the fuck makes you think this is an accomplishment?
This game already has unobtainable challenges and the developers, instead of having common sense, they add in 32 more for the sake of trolling.
It doesn't matter if 20 more community challenges are successful, if one of them fails, the whole thing is fucked. It's all or nothing.

Microsoft and some devs were going through a 'testing the waters' phase with the concept of community challenges for a brief time. Which is proving to be unsuccessful and leading to an obvious decline.
SunsetOD, Evil Within, Magic2015 all released around the same time. A time where they were testing this community challenge concept.

The challenge system itself is declining, and almost no new game have them, which is a good thing.

mcnichojThey aren't testing the waters, the community challenges were a component of the challenge system since before the launch. Major Nelson talked about solo/community/cross-game challenges at the first E3 (last of which we haven't seen used yet) but I'm guessing they didn't have everyrthing up and running to make it possible yet, same reason we haven't seen the cross-game ones.

The system was bound to fail when it didn't incorporate GS but then if it did have GS, a larger amount of people would be bitching over the amount of people that actually collect them currently.
