Build your first house

Be warned there is a bug which prevents you to build houses and when you press cn_RB to build nothing happens. If this occurs then end your turn and let the other players take their turn and quit to main menu when it is your turn again and load the game again, then take your turn and afterwards highlight the property you wish to build a house on and after that you should be able to build...I least it worked for me.

I read this only occured when you played on the Living board which is what I played on during my first game. All other games after that (2 for mopping up the remaining achievements and 2 more for recreational enjoyment) were played on the Classic board and the glitch did not occur which convinced me further that the Classic board was the best way to play the game to avoid the glitch....however DownInFlames85 informed me below that this glitched on him while playing on the Classic sadly this can glitch on either board.

Credit for this goes to ChrisAldin who posted the fix on the Xbox Achievements forum for this game, or at least this was where I discovered it, I tried it and it worked. So thanks to ChrisAldin for the fix.

In case you are not familiar with Monopoly and its rules, you can only build houses when you have a complete colour set, for example all three yellow properties or both brown properties. Once you have a set, go to the property you wish to build on, either by using the D-pad or via the map screen using cn_X, then press cn_RB to build a house and barring any glitches you should be able to build and the achievement unlocks.
TylerGenocideGreat! Another bug in a game, I've just about had enough of these. Thanks for this, it worked.

Otouto72Glad it did, I wondered what the hell was going on when it wouldn't build anything, the forum post reads it glitched during a speed dice game but I wasn't playing that but it glitched...luckily there was a cure to it and a simple one. I've read though that it only happens when you play on a living board so a good advice for anyone would be to always play on the classic board to avoid it.

DownInFlames85Thanks for the solution to the glitch. It also glitched on me in the Classic Board, so it looks like it can occur on both Living/Classic Boards.

Otouto72Oh bugger! I really thought it didn't occur on the classic board but alas I am now told otherwise. I shall update this....all I'll say is thank goodness you had a guide to rely on...I didn't (hence I made one) and I was shitting myself when I couldn't build anything!

DownInFlames85It's funny because I chose the Classic Board (before looking here) due to the fact of my thinking there was less of a chance of the game freezing with fewer animations moving around. That seemed to be the case, however this particular glitch happened on a Classic Board laugh I appreciate the mention in the guide as well. So glad you found this simple solution to the glitch.

Otouto72Thanks heavens for it otherwise I would probably still be tearing my hair over it...I can't remember whether it was here or Xbox Achievements where I saw...if only for that I would certainly credit that person too as well as you for the update, so no problem with the mention, thanks for informing me about it.
