The problem I found with the Hunting Rifle is that they are not as common as other guns, and when you do find one, you don't find much ammunition to make this achievement any easier. So far, the best episode I have come across for this achievement is episode 5.

When you get into the building where you grab the Helicopter keys, an enemy will smash through a door. Kill or run past him, and you will find a Hunting Rifle here. Ammunition can be found throughout the episode, but as I said, it is scarce.
Gunrunner318I know this is an older game but i just wanted to say i got this achievement where your going with sheireff breaker to the helicopter pad and a good place to work on this is when she cant open tha church doors and you then see taken saying phisical labor is work lets take a break.there is a hunting rifle leaned up against the teuck in front of the church i got it and just used it against the taken just rinse and repeat and youll get this achievement

Dancsi27i am playing the normal game now and i got the hunting rifle during episode 2 (near the generator and safe heaven, there is a coffee thermos and a manuscrit there too in 2 shacks, just before reaching the crashed plane (with a supply chest near the wing)

Go down the small stone steps and 3 Taken should come out, take them out with the hunting rifle then reload the last checkpoint, you will be back at the stone steps with all 5 ammos. Rinse and repeat until you get your 50 kills.
