I found a faster way to do this.. If you have a reciprocating saw..

I used a reciprocating saw and wrapped the blade in duct tape so it wouldnt scratch the guitar.. then propped it up laying across the strummer and taped the trigger down on the saw.. You can get anywhere between 600 and 2000 strums per minute if you get the speed right! Just make sure this is your last achievement in case it destroys your strummer!

edit - I turned up the speed even faster than in the video and let it run for 1 hour and it got me from 26% to 35%.. so if you you set the speed perfect you could probably get this achievement done in about 10 hours starting from 0% progress.

edit - Got the achievement today after a few more hours of running it. The stummer still works too haha

check it out -

oxBURN3Rxo Omfg this is awesome. I probably won't use this for fear of messing up my guitar but you get a thumbs up from me.

Calex dEUS My wife doesn't allow me power tools and for good reason, this is something I'd definitely use them for and end up losing some fingers or maiming a pet or child in the process laugh

Dwaggienite 100 strums per ten seconds -

600-2000 strums per hour?

The maths is wrong, with this one.

alklein92201 I will never do something like this, but if there was a Solution Of the Year category on TA I'd be voting for this a hundred times in a heartbeat. Amazing, and disturbing someone thought of this.

oxBURN3Rxo OK so I decided to pick up a cheap reciprocating saw from wal mart the other day. I know I said I wasn't gonna do it but I did anyway. Got my achievement after running it for a few hours a night for 3 days. I started with around 270,000 strums. A little trial and error and finally got the right speed. Guitar got a little scratched from it vibrating around and moving on me but it still works just fine. Thanks again for the clever idea

zzUrbanSpaceman Just a heads up, we featured this achievement and in particular this Hoff 07's and IzzyXboxOne's solutions on episode 10 of the Zed to Zed podcast, which will be published on Wednesday 24th Feb, 2016. Awesome work guys! http://www.zedtozed.com/

oxBURN3Rxo So I'm doing this on the 360 now and I'm not sure what they did but I keep getting kicked for inactivity even though the strum bar is moving and I have the first 2 fret buttons held down with a hair tie. I'm getting frustrated

Ink Splitter I'll never tried that solution, i don't want to eventually damage the device. Nevertheless, it's a smart idea for anyone who doesn't want to play :) I'll keep playing until this achievement eventually unlocks or not laugh
Posted by Ink Splitter on 08 Dec 16 at 20:49
MarekVit SO basically this is 10 hours of the reciprocal saw running nonstop.... well, if the guitar survives, not so sure about the saw.... and then.... the electricity bill! :-)

I love this solution though. :-)
Posted by MarekVit on 23 Jan 17 at 13:25
Ink Splitter My wife possesses a magic wand with a remote that controls the vibrator speed. It can certainly do the work without damaging the guitar. I'll try when I'm done getting 20m points on quickplay someday this week.
Posted by Ink Splitter on 08 Feb 17 at 04:28
xBrushedRedx I might try this or blender method if my strummer hadn't die in not just one, but two, guitar controllers. Shelling out $30 for guitars is starting to get old
Posted by xBrushedRedx on 14 Feb 17 at 16:19
GV Loc Make sure you stay in a party with some friends while boosing this. So they can hear you pain. They mute you? No problem. Find another friends and do the same. :)) My friends hate the sound of strum bar, but i find it satisfying.
Posted by GV Loc on 15 Aug 17 at 12:34
GV Loc Calex dEUS---> Hope you dont lose your wife too. HAHA. sorry for the joke.
Posted by GV Loc on 15 Aug 17 at 12:38
MarekVit The strum bar sounds a bit like my ex-wife's sewing machine. :-)

I usually watch a movie with my headphones on while I strum crazily away. :-) I'm close, too. 67 per cent!

Maka91 Has anyone tried streaming to PC and then using their keyboard for inputs? Or streaming to Mixer and using the new co-play feature to share their controller with someone else on a PC? I want to try this with a keyboard macro if possible.

xoURMOMxo I finally caved and picked up a cheap Reciprocating saw from Walmart ($30 USD) Took an early lunch to rig it up and make sure it all would stay in-tact. I didn't even have it at a fast speed, just a constant life-like strumming...
At 11am my Strumillionaire completion=11% and I had 1,783 tokens (saving for powerups)
At 430pm my Strumillionaire completion=35% and I had 10,065 tokens.
This is a fantastic solution! Bravo Sir! Bravo!

Spirochaete gotta try this soon.

what I can't tell from the video: HOW the blade is taped to the strummer.

I pause the video but can't visualize what the connection ought to look like.
Posted by Spirochaete on 02 Oct at 21:36
NeM2K You can just put 4+ layers of duct tape around the blade so that it doesn't damage the strum bar. No need for any tape on the guitar, nor do you need to tape the strum bar to the blade in any way.

I get about 60,000 strums/hr with my saw on the lowest speed.

shadowninja25 This is EASILY the best solution for this achievement. I went from 245000 or so to 293000 or so after 5 runs of Cry of Achilles. The first 3 runs, I was only getting about 9000/run, but the last 2, I managed to combine them for 23000. If I can keep the rhythm I got for the last 2, it should take me about 65 more runs of the song...
Posted by shadowninja25 on 06 Nov at 20:04
shadowninja25 Only been playing here and there (maybe an hour every day or two) and I'm now up to 67%, so for those who haven't started this yet, there's still lots of time. I've seen runs of CoA net me nearly 15,000 (highest one I actually did the math on was 14,555, but I think one was around 14,800).
Posted by shadowninja25 on 14 Nov at 03:43
Triple Triad777 This solution is the best! Went from 40% to 51% in an hour, on the lowest speed! Definitely cuts down the time, I should be able to finish the 360 version now because of this.
Posted by Triple Triad777 on 23 Nov at 04:54
gamerboyTHXtss I'm having some frustrating trouble getting the speed down on my saw as it doesn't have a switch for speed. I have to squeeze the trigger just enough to get the perfect speed but it either goes too slow or too fast. I think I may finally got the right speed going and got it to stay but I'm just worried the strum bar is going to break. Seriously who's idea was it for this achievement? They should of at least made it 1 million throughout the whole game not just TV mode and then close servers 3 years later.
Posted by gamerboyTHXtss on 27 Nov at 19:40
Jayowski I only had about 24% after playing the game normally when it released, for several months and since 2 weeks ago when I went for the last cheevos (100 plays, 100 mil, etc.). I had to borrow a saw from my brother today - I can see the bar in the achievement tracker filling up as I type this :D I should get it done tomorrow :D This is the stupidest achievement, and thing (saw+me), I've ever done.

Edit: Done! My saw did ~100k an hour.
