UNO & Friends (WP)

Welcome to the Uno & Friends (WP) walkthrough.

You need to be connected to Xbox LIVE to be able to play this game.

The good news is that it is one of Gameloft's games that is 100% completable. The bad news is that it is full of flaws and will frustrate you. Here is the list of flaws (version 1.0.0):
* No cards are dealt.
* Time out of the previous player does not continue to you, but when it does, your turn is timed out too.
* Crashing after the match starts up and your 2 tokens are gone.
* Crashing after winning and you lose your win and XP.
* Free scratch timer does not always work properly.
* Completed bonus objectives are not always counted.
* Gifts sent from friends aren't always received.
* Annoying advert to remove adverts. There are no adverts; the only advert is from Gameloft themselves offering to remove the adverts at a cost. (Removed in version 1.0.1)
* You cannot "un-friend" someone.
* Cards not responding: you cannot play a card, nor take one.
* Even worse, if you cannot play cards, you will "time out" and after 2 times in a row, it kicks you leaving you with no XP and 2 tokens less.
* Human players being replaced with PERFECT AI.
* It takes forever to "challenge an Uno". It can be that worse that the button appears when it is already the other players turn and if he is fast, you do not have the chance to press it.
* The game does not recognize you played a card; it times out and forces you to take a card.
* Bonus objective "Add a friend". It does not count if the other player does not "accept" you. However, you cannot "accept" friend requests in-game.
* In the middle of the game, it quits out without a reason without any XP rewarded.
* If you have one card and cannot play it, you have to draw a new one. When it is a wild draw four and you play it, it does not auto call "Uno" like it does with the other cards. If you forget to call Uno and you are challenged, you get 2 new cards. If this happens before the other player challenges your wild draw +4 and now you do have a "playable" card, the challenge will be successful and you are forced to take another 6 cards. Be very careful about this and abuse it on others.
* Leaderboards do not always update correctly. This can either be to your advantage or against it. It is even possible that the leaderboards do not work at all.
* Buying tokens/coins with real money does not always credit your account.
* Cannot connect to Xbox LIVE even though you are connected.
* Cannot verify this user.
* This user is signed in on another device.
* Error message: "Multiplayer privileges in your xbox account are off. This session won't be available."
* Error message: "This game is no longer available. Network connection error."
* Error message: "Oops! You are no longer in the game because you took too long to play."

There is an update (Version 1.0.1) but I am not sure what it does. Apparently it should fix the leaderboards (before there were gamers with their total score rather than their weekly score) and it removes the ads. There are reports of progress being reset when installing the update! If this happens to you too, contact Gameloft as they will set you back at your previous level.

UNO & Friends (WP) Achievements and UNO & Friends (Windows) Achievements are cross-platform, so progress and achievements carry over from one version to the other.
Note: Since the games share cross-platform progress, gifts from friends were disappearing on the WP version, while they did not on the Win 8 version.

Beware this game drains your battery like hell!

You still want to play this game? Be prepared for a long grind to obtain level 100!

In Uno & Friends you need tokens to be able to play. For each game you want to play, you need to spend 2 tokens.
How to earn tokens:
* Buy them with real money.
* 1 token for each level up.
* 2 tokens for each win.
* Friend gifts (random).
* Free scratch (only if your amount of tokens is below 10).

You also have silver coins. With these you can buy power-ups and new designs for decks and cards.
How to earn silver coins:
* Buy them with real money.
* Friend gifts (random).
* Weekly tournament. The amount depends on your position on the leaderboard and only if the leaderboards are working properly.

Each day you can send 5 gifts to your friends. When the weekly leaderboard breaks, you can usually send your friends gifts if you load the "All Time" leaderboard.

ALWAYS scratch your free tokens first BEFORE getting your friend gifts!

All achievements are gained through normal gameplay. You can check your progress in the "achievements" menu.

Select "create" game and invite 5 friends. You can invite the same friend 5 times; just keep pushing that invite button to unlock the next achievement. Your friend does NOT have to accept to unlock the following:

If another player forgets to call Uno when he has one card left, there will be a yellow button ("Challenge Uno") that will appear on his cards. Press it to challenge his Uno but be very fast. Hold your finger above his cards when he has only 2 left, that way you will be fast enough to challenge his Uno if he forgets it. Challenge another player's Uno 50 times to unlock the next achievement:

For the next achievement, you have to give 5 presents to other players while playing games of Uno. Press the gamer picture of another player, then press the "present" button and give them a bear as the bear is the cheapest. You need to have silver coins to be able to buy presents for others. Be sure to give a present when it is an active bonus objective.

The next set of achievements is for completing bonus goals 1 through 50, respectively. You will have to be patient for this as the completed bonus goals are not always recognized by the game as completed, nor does it always count correctly. You do NOT have to complete 50 different objectives. The bonus objective is shown in the loading screen of the game starting up. The bonus objectives are:
* Play in the first 5 seconds of a turn. (Play your card within the first 5 seconds of any turn)
* Send a gift to another player. (While in game, press the players icon, then press the "present" button and buy a bear for 5 silver coins).
* Add a friend. (While in game, press the players icon and press the "add friend" button. This only works if the other adds you as a friend in the same match).
* Draw when you can play a card. (Take a card from the pile while you have a playable card in your hand)
* Play a card on its identical match. (The card you play must be of an identical number/special and identical color of the card that is on the board)
* Play cards one through four. (Play the cards 1, 2, 3 and 4 of any color in any order during one game)
* Play a draw 2 on a draw 2. (If there is a draw 2 on the board, play a draw 2 yourself).
* Play 2 "draw 2" cards in a row. (You must play a draw 2 two times in a row)
* Successfully challenge a wild draw four card. (If someone plays a draw four, press "yes" instead of draw. When the other player had another playable card, you will have successfully challenged them).
* Challenge a missed Uno. (When a player has one card left and did not press his "Uno" button, press the yellow "Challenge Uno" button to challenge it.)
* Call Uno when you have one card in hand. (Press the Uno button on the bottom right corner if you have one card left)
* Use wild draw four instead of playable card. (When you have a playable card in your hand, play a draw four instead. Note: When the card is challenged, they will be successful and you will have to draw 4 cards yourself).
* Pass after drawing a playable card. (When you take a card from the pile and it is either a wild card or a wild draw four card, you will get the option to play the card or to pass; press "Pass").
* Play wild draw four last. (When you get a wild draw four card, play it last as your winning card).
* Play a reverse on a reverse. (When there is a reverse on the board, play a reverse card too).
* Reverse a reverse card twice. (When there is a reverse card on the board, play a reverse card too. You need to do this twice in one game. It does not have to be in a row).
* Play a skip on a player with Uno. (When the next player holds one card in his hand, play a skip card).
* Play a reverse on a player with Uno. (When the next player holds one card in his hand, play a reverse card)
* Play a wild draw four on a player with Uno. (When the next player holds one card in his hand, play a wild draw four card)
