Darksiders II

Welcome to the walkthrough of Darksiders II. My name is NOUSHKA13, and I will walk you through this game. This game takes place parallel with the original Darksiders. We are tasked, as Death, to erase War's crime of starting Armageddon early, by restoring mankind to life.

This walkthrough will help you get the achievements at a relative fast way. That means that I've wrote this walkthrough in a matter that you do not go to every place mentioned on the map, but it will get you all achievements the fastest way! You will have a main story as well as some sidequests you need to do in order to complete the game. In some sidequests, you'll need to search for collectibles, but I want to really point out that this is a great game to play. We had lots of fun doing it, so I will advise you to use this walkthrough as a guide to get full game experience!

You will need one playthrough to get all the collectables and do all the quests, and you will need about 3/4 of a playthrough to get to level 30. Note: In order to only need 1 3/4 walkthrough, you need to start the first playthrough on Apocalyptic. If you start on a difficulty any lower than that, you need to do the second playthrough entirely to get the Apocalyptic achievement. Don't be afraid, as the fighting is not that hard, and you will get some cool weapons along the way. You will level up fast, so don't let the name scare you. After that, you'll be leveled up far enough to get the last achievement in a final fight! To complete the entire game, you're probably looking at 40 to 50 hours, depending on your fighting skills. This is an easy 1000G to get.

All the achievements are offline except for one online achievement where you have to send an item to a friend. There are no missable achievements, so this game is absolutely great fun to complete on your own. However, the game can be a bit glitchy, and you could encounter some bugs, which is why I've added a page with glitches and bugs for you. Please feel free to add bugs or glitches in the forum walkthrough to help others.

I would like to thank Kuddlesnot on youtube for his amazing video walkthrough. He did a great job and helped me a few times when I got stuck or needed to help with something. If you ever need any help on video, because you got lost in my walkthrough, go to youtube and search for Kuddlesnot 100% Darksiders II walkthrough, and if you like his work, please subscribe!

Finally, special thanks to my boyfriend H3LL8OY13 for playing the game whilst I'm writing it all down for you guys.

Well, good luck and have fun with the game!!

  • In the game, make sure to destroy every crate, vase, car, and stuff that can be destroyed. You can find health, coins, and gilt (money) in them that can be useful on your quests.
  • You can collect 100 boatman coins along the way, and you can use them as money. They look like a collectable and have the same appearances as other collectables, but they are not part of any achievement for 1000G, so we will not include them in this walkthrough. Also collectable, but not for any achievement are the Soul arbiter scrolls. These are just to give you directions for a maze, but since this a walkthrough, we will give you these directions when we get there.
  • You can also find chests along the way, which will give you weapons, armor, money etc, but it is not part of the 1000G so we will not point them out in this walkthrough.
  • There are a lot of so called “mini dungeons” in this game. You can all explore them along the way, but you might have to come back twice, after you get abilities. So we will not enter them until we have to for a quest. Note: This is the fasted way, but you will miss out on some gilt, weapons, and stuff before we have to be in these dungeons. So feel free to explore if you want some extra loot before continuing the story.
  • You can use your skill points in two sides of a skilltree, one for more fighting based and one for more magical based fighting. We cannot tell you what to do, because it is a matter of personal taste. Just try both trees to find out what style best suits you.
  • You come across a lot of different weapons and armors. Look for the stats to see if you think this weapon or armor suits you. You can find out much by trial and error. Make sure to look for arcane and health/wrath on crit etc. if you preferred the “magical” side of the skilltree and look for strength etc. if you prefer the fighting side of the tree.
  • All the collectibles have to be turned in by the one the sidequest was given. For the purpose of completing the game fast, we will turn everything in at the end of the first playthrough. However, you get abilities and guilt for them, so feel free to travel back and forth every now and then.
  • Also note that I'm directing you north, east, south, and west sometimes. In order for you to follow these directions easily, you will need to lock your map in the option menu.
  • Glitches and Bugs

The only really annoying thing in the game is, that it’s kind of glitchy. You probably need to restart you console every once in a while because your screen froze, but trust me, there are a bunch more “scary” glitches. We wrote down a couple we’ve encountered, but off course, we didn’t see all of them, so if you encounter one, please send a message or post something on the walkthrough forum of Darksiders II.

    1. If you encounter weird situations, like shooting or hitting, but the enemies don’t take any damage what so far? You might want to quit out and restart. You might need to restart your console as well.
    2. One of the more scarier once is in The Foundry, as soon as you’ve reached the second Heartstone. There is a change that Karn won’t even pick it up, or drops it somewhere, whatever. If you don’t find out in time, you can find yourself stuck between two doors, so make sure to look if he has grabbed the stone! If he didn’t, fast travel out of there, restart your console, and if you walk back to the 2nd Heartstone, it will be back. If Karn doesn’t feel like following you back to get the stone, don’t worry as he will come running as soon as you break it back out again. You might need to travel a little back and forth to work, but you don’t need to restart the game from scratch.
    3. This is also a scary part but can be avoided! Once you are at the entrance of The City of the Dead, you will speak to the Chancellor. You need to move two pillars onto switches and go in. Make sure NOT TO GO BACK at this point!!! Do not go back for collectables or whatever, not after the cutscene of the chancellor, not after you died in the City of the Dead, just stay in the city until you’ve completed it and have collected all collectables, because there is a nasty glitch here! If in the worst case, you're reading this afterwards, well, it is fixable (since we’ve actually had this problem) but takes a little effort. The glitch is this: once you’re in front of the City of the Dead for a second time, it might happen that the Chancellor’s cutscene will appear again, like you haven’t been here. The problem with that is, that after the cutscene your screen will go black. The only thing you can see is your minimap. So you have to make your way without seeing anything. So what you want to do is, move the pillars by searching for them until you see a B pop on your screen, and try to move them until you can hear by sound that you’ve placed them on the switches. Go through the first door and through the second (still no visibility), and here, you will be attacked by small enemies. Instead of fighting, keep moving to the third door (watch your health!). Open it and another cutscene will appear which will make your screen go back to its normal state. Another fix I’ve found would to use your options menu and just make a change, to force the game to make a save after the Chancellor. That didn’t work for me the first time, so we tried to continue in the dark and after the cutscene it went back to normal. You can try both if one doesn’t work, but I strongly advise not to go backtracking after you’ve spoken to the Chancellor!
    4. You will get a soulsplitter ability along the way. Make sure to use this for puzzles only and not in combat, because the game has "troubles" what that. Enemies will freeze or don't loose health and you have to restart your xbox, so it's better to not use soulsplitter in fighting.

    Prologue

You start off riding Despair in a frozen wasteland know as the Icy Veil. Follow the path untill you reach the combat tutorial. Once finished, enter The Dark Fortress. Wall run across the gape and destroy the Ice skeleton blocking a side path. Inside the nook is a chest containing 3 health potions. Back on the main path, run across the gap to the far ledge and climb up. Kill the Ice skeletons and cross the poles Prince of Persia style. Clear out the next room. Use the handholds and poles to climb up the room. In the next room, use the vines to climb up to the roof and across to the next platform. Drop down and clear out the room. Climb and wall run up the next set of vines to get to a large circular room. This can mean only one thing… boss time!

    Ice Giant

    Moves:

Lunge Punch: He will walk towards you and try to perform a two punch combo at you.

    Strategy:

When he pulls back for the first punch, evade around him and swing at his back. After the fight, head into the door and follow the corridor to the lift. Halfway up the lift, it will break down, forcing you to climb around the outside of the fortress. After climbing around, you come to a short hallway ending in a large room. After a cutscene… another boss!

    Dark War

    Moves:

Spin Smash: A quick spin that can be linked to latter moves for a short combo.

Overhead Smash: War slams his sword against the ground, sending out a shockwave of blades in the direction he is facing.

Jumping Overhead Slam: Same as above but with a longer range and higher damage output.

Blade Geyser: War will punch the ground causing blades to erupt from the ground around him.

    Strategy:

As with the Ice Giant, try to get War into a pattern that would cause him to stop moving. Be careful as once he is at half health, War will start blocking your attacks and countering with a smash. Once the poser has been dealt with, a short cutscene will take place, and you will end up in the Forge Lands.

    Act 1- The Forge Lands

Part 1 Fire of the Mountain

Once you regain control of Death, some new enemies called constructs will attack. After taking them down, you will be tasked to travel to Tri-Stone to find the Forge sister. When you first enter the town, you’ll find your first side-quest “The Maker Warrior”. This is to fight Thane, but I’ll recommend to do this later, when you are a higher level, see Act 4. He will also be the trainer intended for this Act. Walk down the path and head to the left. At the top of the stairs is a Serpent tome. This would allow you to send items to people on your friends list.

Talk to Alya (Merchandiser for weapons and armor), and she will tell you the first step in getting the forge running is to get the Fire of the Mountain, over in the Cauldron. Go on the right platform to talk to Muria (Merchandiser for talisman and potions) to get the side-quest “Shaman’s Craft”. We will collect these along the way, and we will point out were as soon as we come across of it. Go and talk to Thane at your main quest waypoint. Follow the path through the opening Thane just created to get out into the over world.

Head out into the over world, and follow the path to the right, just before you reach the edge of this main area, before the arch opening go left and at the end (northeast corner of the map) to find Book of the deadpage #1. Go back to your route and stop at the Weeping Craig and talk to Vulgrim (he is pinpointed on the map). You can spend any Boatman coins here for a random item. Also, he is the only character that can allow Death to Respec (reset your skillpoints). Do this once you have enough money to get this achievement.

At the end of the conversation, you get the collectable side-quest “The Book of the Dead”. (He will tell you that he has lost the 40 pages to the Book of the Dead, and will handsomely reward you for their return. The pages of course are spread throughout the game's world, so we will get them along the way)

Keep following the path through Baneswood, right towards “The Nook”, ride from the door of The Nook along the left side (east) of the map until you see a statue on your left. Behind it is Book of the deadpage #2. Continue along the path to your waypoint on your map until you get to the Cauldron. At the entrance, aid Karn in clearing out the constructs, and he will open the door into the first dungeon. Karn will tell you more about the sidequest which you’ve gotten from Muria.

    The Cauldron

When you enter, use the lever to open the door straight ahead. Head on through. In the next room, clear out the enemies and chests. Here we get a new mechanic: Shadow bombs. Toss these at yellow crystals to destroy them. Toss a bomb at the lever across the gap which opens the door to our right. In the next room, you’ll find a locked door to the left. These can only be opened by skeleton keys found in the dungeon. Head through the north door to go search for one.

As you enter, you’ll notice that the room is filled with lava and the way across has collapsed. To find a way across, use the handholds to make your way across the room. Once on the other side, use the series of beams and climbable walls to get to a shadow bomb. Toss it at the lever to open the door. In the next room is a new type of construct. This one has a little bit more armor and likes to toss rocks at you. Eliminate the enemies in the room and enter a small hallway. At the end of the hallway is a chest that contains the dungeon map. In the next room, you’ll see a group of constructs attacking a large enemy called a Stalker. (Shaman’s craft; Stalker Bone: Dropped from a Stalkers during the first encounter him them in the Cauldron.) Once they are dealt with, head up the stairs in the back of the room for a chest with a key in it. Head back to the skull door, use the key, and head on through.

In the next room, there is a ball that you must roll into a socket on the floor, which will flip a section of the wall, revealing a handhold for climbing up the wall to the hallway on the left. Follow it to the dead end and wall run up the block to get to the handhold. Round the corner, and climb down the wall vines to find a hole in the wall. Head through the gap and pull the lever to unlock the door, which will reveal another skeleton door.

Head down the room and take the door on the right. In this room there is a chest surrounded by bars that need to slots active to lower. Once the enemies have been eliminated, go and find Book of the deadpage #3 just next to ball #2 in the corner (southeast). After that, toss shadow bombs at the crystals to clear them out. This will free up a ball. Roll it to the slot on the lower left side of the room. This will lower a gate with another ball. Push ball #2 to the slot above ball #1, a shadow bomb to free ball #1 from the slot, and roll it to the slot on the right side of the room. Inside the chest is another skeleton key. Head back to the hallway and open the skeleton door.

Once in the next room, pull the lever to have a cauldron raise from the lava. Wall run over to it, and use the handholds to get to the other side of the room and enter the door. Use the handholds to climb up the shaft and back into the cauldron room. Use the shadow bombs to destroy some optional crystals and to trigger the lever at the far end of the room, which will have the cauldron rise allowing Death to cross the room for boss time.

    Gharn

    Moves:

Ground Slam: Gharn will punch the ground in front of him.

Slam and Charge: Gharn will punch the ground and then charge at you.

Spinning Fist: Gharn will punch straight ahead with a fist full of spinning blades.

Explosion: After he takes some damage, Gharn will fall to his knees and exploded, and reform somewhere else.

    Strategy:

After each of his attacks, Gharn will pause for a moment, creating an opening to attack. Just rinse and repeat and victory shall be yours. Once Gharn has been defeated, you’ll be awarded the Dark Avenger sub weapon. The door will also open.

At the end of the hallway will be a rotating lever. Push/pull it in a circle until a scene plays, signifying the end of the dungeon. Before you go out, destroy the crates in the room, and at the right corner from the lever, you’ll find Book of the deadpage #4. Go outside and talk to Karn, as he will tell you more about the sidequest form Muria. Fast travel to Tri-stone and talk to Alya.

Part 2- Tears of the Mountain

Head out towards the Stonefather’s Vale and head left. There will be a door sealing off the Fjord. Talk to Karn. Shoot the inactive shadow bombs to blow open the door. Once inside the Shadow Gorge, you’ll notice that the way forward is blocked by a gate. Destroy the Stinger hive to get a clear shot at some inactive shadow bombs, an easy way to defeat the Stingers is to use Redemption (your pistol). (Shaman’s Craft; Mordent Dew: Destroy the Stinger Nest in the courtyard between the Shadow Gorge and the Fjord.) Climb up the ledge and into a trap. Defeat enough enemies to have the gates open back up. Once on the other side of the wall, push in the lever to create a shortcut back to the Vale.

Once inside the Fjord, hug the right wall to find Blackroot. He will give you the collectable side-quest “Sticks and Stones”. Look up left from Blackroot on a cliff face, to find Mystic Stonebite #1. Shoot to collect it. Now we are going to do a little backtrack to collect the stones we’ve missed so far. You could find them when you have to the mainquest, but using fast travel after this is much faster. For easy finding of the stones, if you listen carefully, you can hear them, since they have a high buzzing sound.

    • - Travel back through the Shadow Gorge. In front of the entrance of The Shattered Forge, jump down on the broken bridge, look up right, and you’ll find Mystic Stonebite #2.
    • - (Fast) Travel to where we found the first book of the deadpage. Northeast corner of Stonefather’s Vale. On the right side cliff face, you’ll see Mystic Stonebite #3.
    • - Fasttravel to the Weeping Crag, there is a big arch close to Vulgrim, here you’ll find Mystic Stonebite #4.
    • - In the Northwest corner of Baneswood in the ruins, you’ll find Mystic Stonebite #5.
    • - From the ruins of #5, you can hug the left wall going north, there is an even smaller ruin, here is Mystic Stonebite #6.
    • - Still in Baneswood, just before The Charred Pass, there is a ruin, somewhat like a Chapel. Here you’ll find Mystic Stonebite #7.
    • - In The Charred Pass, look for a ruin in the Northeast corner, go way up in the ruin to find Mystic Stonebite #8.
    • - Were The Charred Pass goes into the Scar, there is a stone on the face of the cliff ceiling. Mystic Stonebite #9.
    • - In the Southwest of the Charred Pass, you can dive into a well. Travel under water to get in a small room. Here is Power Stonebite #1.
    • - On the corner of the Charred Pass south and the road to The Cauldron, go into the ruin to find Mystic Stonebite #10.

End of the backtrack for now. Continue up the mainquest path to reach the next dungeon. On the path leading up to the Drenchfort, you can see another stone on the right wall of the tunnel/ cave. Mystic Stonebite #11

    The Drenchfort

Head through the entryway, fighting Stingers along the way, until you reach a locked door. Here is a pair of prowlers. After defeating them, you’ll notice the socket in the floor. Head to the room on the right and use the blocks to climb the wall. Grab a shadow bomb, and throw it at the suspended ball at the other end of the room. Shoot the bomb to free the ball and roll it into the socket, opening the door.

The next room is the hub of the dungeon. If you take a left, you will see that a part of the wall of the bridge is broken. Stand carefully on the edge of the bridge and fall down to collect Book of the deadpage #5. If you look toward the arch on the bridge you are going to, you’ll find Mystic Stonebite #12. Now head into the East wing of the dungeon. Head up the stairs and follow the hall to the door at the far right. The room on the other side is full of Stingers and Prowlers. Once they are all dead, an Earth Crag will burst forth from the ground. Dodge either its charge attack or body slam attack, or wail on it while it is stunned. Collect your loot and head back to the previous hallway. Now head into the door at the top of the stairs. In the next room, there will be a statue in the center, some stairs behind it, a ball on a ledge on the south side of the room, and a gate on the north side. Jump into the pool of water and use the blocks to get to the ball and push it into the room below. Climb over the wall with the gate to get to the next orb you need which is surrounded by chaos crystals. Before jumping down, head across the arch to find a chest with the dungeon map.

To free the ball, grab the bomb in a nook at the back of the room, throw it at the crystals, and then shoot it. Push the ball to the gate and grab another bomb and through it at the ball. Get on the pressure plate to lower the gate. Shoot the ball to propel the ball forward into the central room. Place both balls in their respective sockets to open the door at the top of the stairs.

Continue down the hallway, defeating the enemies as you go. After a bit, you’ll come to a switch in the room where the pressure plate was. Pull it to get the water flowing into the main hub of the dungeon. Ride the rapids back to the hub. Once back in the hub, you’ll notice that a hallway at the bottom of the room has flooded. Swim down the tunnel to get to the west side of the dungeon.

Keep moving forward until a scene plays. Defend yourself against a group of prowlers and eventually some stalkers. Enter the door and run down the hallway. In the next open area, there will be a locked door on your left. Head down the stairs to the right and jump into the canal. Find a hole in the left side of the wall. Inside will be a chest guarded by a bunch of prowlers. Once they are dead, claim your skeleton key. On your way back up, instead of going left on the wall, wallrun to the right and find Book of the deadpage #6 Head back to the lock and enter the door. At the end of the hallway, you’ll find a large room that’ll start a cutscene. Use the handhold on the left to climb up to the balcony. Grab a plant and throw it at the crystals below you. Drop down and use a charged push to get the ball up the steep incline. Push the ball into the socket to lower a platform. Grab a bomb and place it on the ball. Stand on the platform and trigger the bomb to raise the platform. Head through the door and down the hallway. At the end will be another switch surrounded by crystals. Blow them up and pull the switch to get the water following. Go back to the hub, and use a switch at the end of the hall in front of the blocked door to unlock it. Back in the hub, with both canals filled, the way to the boss will open up.

    Karkinos

    Moves:

Dash: Karkinos will try to ram you.

Belly Flop: After taking damage or getting to close, Karkinos will jump into the air and smash into the ground sending out a giant shockwave.

Summon: After taking damage, smaller versions of the boss will appear when he falls.

Homing Roots: Karkinos will bury itself and send waves of roots at you.

    Strategy:

The key to defeating the boss is to let it crash into the wall stunning it. When the eggs fall, grab on, and use a charge push to have the boss roll over onto its side, exposing its weak spot.

Right about the end of this fight, you should hit level 6 and unlock the Reaper Form.

Before leaving the Maker's forge, look on the right side of the platform, when standing beside it, where the makers are to find Mystic Stonebite #13.

    Part 3 The Lost Temple

Before continuing the mainquest, we’re going to do some Sidequests first. We will do The Hammer’s Forge you just got form Alya, and we’re going to do “The Silent Stone”. That second sidequest hasn’t actually been given to you by anyone. Normally, it would be given by the Guardian later in the game, but since we’re going to hang around here some more, we’re going to trigger it.

    The Silent Stone

On your map, you can see a lake with water just under The Fjord. As you can see, at the south end at this lake, there are two platforms. We’re going to travel to the left one. (In the right one, you can trigger Vulgrim and some things to loot)

So as you swim to this beach and find a big pile of stones, wake him up with your Maker's Key. The pile will turn out to be a construct by the name of Oren. Turns out that Oren has a problem that only we can help him with. In his deep sleep, Oren's limb have wandered off. He will give you his heartstone shard and task you with finding them.

A piece of Oren rests in each of the 4 main areas of the Maker's Realm. All you have to do is find them and use the heartstone shard to send them back to Oren.

Limb Location #1. The Fjord: From the lake, continue on to the Drenchfort to the point where the path splits. Take the alternate path to find one of the arms.

To do everything in the fastest way, we will now leave the limbs for what they are and continue with the next quest:

    The Hammer's Forge

Ayla will ask you to retrieve a weapon from the Shattered Forge. To find the Shattered Forge, take the side path in the Shadow Gorge.

Once you enter the dungeon, follow the path until a short cutscene plays. After the cutscene is over, follow the path to the left through an unlocked door. In the next room, jump into the pool of water and follow the underwater tunnel to a chest with the dungeon map. Once back on dry land, climb up the vines and head through the door. In order to get passed the broken floor in this hallway, you must wallrun back and forth between the two walls. When you reach the end of the hall, wall run up the wall and then wall run to the right to reach a door.

In the new room, kill the enemies and then find the shadow bomb. Jump into the water and climb up the side, and ignoring the crystals in this room, head back into the previous hall. Throw the bomb at some crystals to reveal the legendary weapon: Omega Blades. Now head back to the room with the bomb. Now use it on the crystals in the room. Now follow the hall and throw the switch at the end. This will make it so you can now reach the shadow bomb on the opposite end of the room. In the next room, drop down to the middle and fight the prowlers that are there. Continue on when they are dead, and eventually, you'll be locked in a room with two tainted construct champions and a group of normal tainted constructs. Once they are dead, wall run between the two walls to get to another door.

In the next room, there is a locked door and a bunch of crystals blocking your progress. With nothing else to do, jump into the pool of water, and follow the underwater tunnel until you reach a place where you can climb up with a shadow bomb. Destroy the crystals directly across from you, and then grab another bomb and drop down. Throw the shadow bomb at the crystals to the left of where the bomb was. Now that the path is clear, use the handholds and pegs to make your way across the room to where the first set of crystals were. Progress your way through the next room until you reach the last combat room of the dungeon. A corrupted sentinel, a group of tainted constructs, and a tainted champion will spawn. Once they are dead, smash the crates for Book of the deadpage #7. Go and head through the door. Pull the switch to lower the gate and open the chest to get the key to the door. Open the final set of doors and in the middle of the platform is a chest containing Splinter Bone. You can choose to go and turn in your quest to Alya now or wait until we come across here again.

So now that’s done, we’ll find Orens remaining limbs! So these are the locations:

    • - Shadow Gorge: The other arm will be on the path from Stonefather's Vale.
    • - Baneswood: Once in Baneswood, head for the Charred Path. Before the transition will be the remaining leg.
    • - The Scar: Right outside of the Dungeon is a leg.

Once you have found all of the limbs, return to Oren and put the humpty dumpty wannabe back together to finish the quest.

Ok, so let’s continue the story! Just before we go into the Lost Temple, we have to talk to Karn, since he has to tell us more about the sidequest for Muria, because we will encounter that in the next part.

    The Lost Temple

Once inside, head down the hallway into a circular room. There you’ll be attacked by a pack of prowlers. Once they are all dead, climb the stairs and enter the door. Activate the golem to your left, and use it to clear out the crystals blocking your path. Once a path is open, roll the golem and place it in its socket to open the door. In the next room, you’ll encounter a new enemy, a Construct Sentinel. They like to fly around and heal other enemies. (Shamans Craft; Carven Stone: Dropped from a Construct Sentinel during the first encounter with them in the Lost Temple.) Once the room is cleared out, head to the north side of the room, and use the block and handhold to get over some crystals. Drop down on the other side and head down the hallway until you get to a dead end.

Here is a large room with an inactive golem on the far side of a water hazard. Use the right wall to get over to the far side. Defeat the tainted constructs guarding the golem and then activate it. Use the chain punch to reveal a switch. Use the vines to get back onto the original side. Push the switch to raise the bridge. Hop back on the golem and ride it back to the main room (quick tip, you can also fight enemies on your golem). Once there, destroy the crystals to reveal a socket. Place the golem in the socket to reveal a target. Use a chain punch to get a way up. Use the vines to climb to the other platform. Use your pistol to shoot a shadow bomb to get another ball. Roll the ball into its socket which will drop a gate and spawn some constructs. Once they are dead, grab an inert bomb, and throw it at the ball. Stand behind the gate that dropped, and shoot the bomb freeing the ball. Grab the key, and head back to the main room and open the locked door. Inside, use the vines to get to the other side. Kill the tainted constructs and then press the switch to drop the gate in the main room.

Head back to the golem, and once on the chain, jump down to find Mystic Stonebite #14. After going back up on your golem, detach the chain, and ride it through the newly opened gate. Clear a path through the Shadow Crystals on the left side of the room to reveal a chest with the dungeon map in it. Head east and fit the golem into its slot to lower a gate to a large open room. Once a short cutscene plays, you’ll be attacked by a group of six construct sentinels. Be wary as the minions they spawn will get increasingly more difficult. Once you emerge victorious, enter the door in the back of the room.

You’ll find the next door at the end of the room locked, so head to the door on the left. To reach the far end safely, wallrun from wall to wall to get to the far end safely. Once you reach a dead end, wall jump between the two walls next to the waterfall, to get up. Once you are at the top, enter the door to find a disabled golem. Activate the golem, and take it around the corner to a lift. Get off and climb up the wall to find another golem. Take this one and place it in a socket to raise the lift. Get on the golem on the lift and bring it to the next room and place it into a socket, lowering a gate. Bring the second one and take it past the lowered gate. Place it in the socket and use the chain punch to create another beam to jump to. Now head back to the first golem and place it in the socket closest to the gap. This will unlock the next door. Before you go there, get across with the chain to your golem and walk a little back in the hall to find Book of the deadpage #8. Now continue through the door.

In the next room, make your way across to a platform, clear out the enemies, and go through the door. Once through there, fight off some enemies and make your way up to find Power Stonebite #2. From where you stand now, shoot the bomb to clear the corruption and make your way on the beams to collect Book of the deadpage #9. Go back down and push the ball in the socket to go through the door. Now you’ll have to contend with a pair of construct champions and a host of tainted constructs. If you have Reaper form ready, now is the time to use it. Once they are dead, break all of the destructible objects in the room to stock up on supplies because it is time. What time you may ask. For Boss Time.

    Construct Hulk

    Moves:

Ground Slam: He will pummel the ground at random times.

Hulk Smash: The Hulk does what he does best, and that is smash the ground in front of him when he takes damage.

Summon: When he collapses, The Hulk will summon three golems to defend him when he tries to recover.

    Strategy:

When he slams the ground, several bomb plants will drop to the ground. Rush over to one and stick it to the Hulk. When it explodes, it will stun him for a bit exposing his core. Rush over and wail on it until he gets back up and performs his Hulk Smash. Just rinse and repeat, but be careful if he performs Hulk smash before you have stuck him, as it will explode all of the bombs, even the ones you are holding.

Once the boss has been taken out, climb up the stairs and claim your victory loot. Once you are done, use the Maker’s Key on the gatekeeper to clear the dungeon. The gatekeeper will take you back to Tri-stone. Turn in any side quests (Muria and Alya) you may have left and then speak to the Elder.

    Part 4 The Foundry

Once you have taken care of business in Tri-Stone, exit the area through the back of the Maker’s Forge, and talk with the Gatekeeper. He will remake the broken bridge to the Foundry. Once on the other side of the gorge, you’ll find Karn who will join you in this dungeon dive.

Once inside, look up and see the big kettles/buckets/cauldrons moving from left to right, wait until you see Resistance Stonebite #1. After that, head up the first hallway and through the door at the end. After a series of rooms, you’ll end up on a circular platform. Have Karn give you a toss to the other side. Climb the wall and use the handholds to go around the corner dropping onto a beam. Wait for a cauldron to pass you and hop onto it. Shimmy across to the right and then jump to the far platform when it is safe. Wall run across the gap to go the rest of the way. Follow the passageway around the corner and right into some tainted constructs. Once they have been dealt with, pull the lever to open the door.

Once you are in the next room, a gate will slam shut behind you, and a gate will lower to the left of a skull door. To the right of the skull door is a golden beam. Weigh it down to open the large door and let Karn through. He will run on through and hold up the opposite door. Hop off the beam and follow him. Climb up the set of stairs and behold the Guardian in his uncompleted glory. It seems that to get him moving, you’ll need three heartstones.

Look back the way you came in, and take the opening on the right. Kill the tainted constructs inside, and at the intersection, continue to the right until you reach a large room. Walk over to the east side of the room, and Karn will toss you over the gate. Dive into the pool of water and look for a ledge to climb up to get out of the water. Here there will be a ball. Ignore it for now and follow the passageway to a new pool of water and dive down. At the end of the tunnel, wall climb up and stand on the pressure plate which will lower the gate and open up the next room. Karn will hold open the door, so step off the plate and roll the ball into the next room. Place it in front of the ramp, make sure to align it perfectly, and use a charged push to launch it into its slot. This will raise a golem from the water.

Take the golem and backtrack through the tunnel you came from clearing it of crystals as you go. At the end of the tunnel, there should be a socket for the golem and a target to use its chain punch on. Climb onto the chain, but only go across half of it. Climb the set of vines here and use the poles to get to the north side of the room. In the next room, wall run across till you get to a handhold. From here on, be careful as lava will pour out at set intervals. Once you safely make it to the other side, head through the door. The next room will throw some tainted constructs and even a tainted champion. Once they have been taken care of, exit through the opposite door and find a chest with the skeleton key that you need. Head back to the skull door and open it up.

Climb the staircase until you reach the top and then enter the door there. Approach the cliff to have Karn toss you across. Eliminate the constructs and drop down the ledge on the right of the dungeon map. Climb back up and head through the door. Inside the next room is a demon chest. Break it open to get the hookshot… I mean Death Grip.

1 guideOffline Game ModeSingle PlayerMain Storyline

Before we use the Death Grip to get back to Karn, you want to drop yourself from the ledge (the one where you normally jump over to get to Karn). Use Death Grip to enter a cave underneath the ledge you just dropped off. At the end of the hall, go up, and you can find Book of the deadpage #10.

Head back to Karn and follow him back to the Guardian. Head over to the east side of the area. Kill all of the tainted constructs and use death grip to grab a bomb to toss it at a switch on the other side of the room. Cross the bridge and enter the next room. Once in the next room, head to the left across the beams and pull the lever. This will raise a beam behind you. Wall run up to it and use the grip hooks to get to the wall vines behind it. Work your way across the roof and pull the lever at the end. Now continue into the next room.

Throw the lever to send the lift down, and then go through the doors to find your first Heartstone. Have Karn throw you up onto a platform and use the various beams and handholds to get to the central platform. Step on the pressure pad and have use Death grip on Karn to have him toss you to the opposite side of the room. Use death grip to fly over to the handholds and wall run around the corner. Shimmy down the pole to get to a lower platform, and wall run to get to a golem. Ride the golem back to the socket on the floor. Use its chain punch to create a path to the heartstone. Knock it down and have Karn bring it back to the Guardian.

After the cutscene plays, head over to where the scaffolding fell, and use death grip to get across. Enter the pipe. Once in the next room, kill off the stingers, and then enter the pipe on the left. Weigh down the pressure plate to let Karn through, which lets him hold open a door for you. Once in the next room, have Karn toss you over the gap and then use death grip to cross the next gap. Activate the hulk, head to the south, and place it in the slot in the elevator. Launch the hulk’s chain to the switch over on the other side of the room. Head over to the raised platform in the center of the room, and then pull the lever to raise the elevators. Once you let go, the elevators will start to descend. Quickly climb the pillar on the left, and once at the top, cross the hulk’s chain to the middle, and then jump over to the wall vines. Cross over to the set of vines on the right side of the room, and drop onto the platform below. Pull the lever to raise the three bridges. Drop into the water and get out at the entrance of the room. Head back to the golem, and use it to clear out the shadow crystals blocking the other exit. In the next room is the next heartstone.

Use the golem to clear the room of enemies and shadow crystals. Once the room is safe, have Karn throw you up to a ledge with a chest containing a skeleton key. Now dive into the pool of water and climb the wall vines on the other side of the room. While climbing the wall, make sure to take note of the three balconies overlooking the water. Jump off each one of these to get the Triple Lindy achievement.

Once at the top of the wall, a small cutscene will take place. Now drop into the water on the opposite side of the wall and head to the northeast section of the room. Use the death ring to climb up to the handholds above you. Follow these around the corner to the right, and jump the gap at the end and use the death ring to get to ledge above. Kill the enemies here, and then throw the switch to reactivate the machinery below.

Once it’s back on, drop back down below and head back to the golem. Wheel it over to the crusher, and then pull the switch to destroy the golem but saving the ball. Roll the ball over to the locked door, and use the key to open it. Drag the ball inside and defeat the mini-boss that appears. Once that is taken care of, place the ball into the socket, which will open a path to the heartstone. Knock it down and Karn will catch it. Now head back to the Guardian. Once the second heartstone is in place, water will pour onto some lava, allowing access to the other side of the room.

Cross the newly cooled lava. Ignore the golem for now and have Karn throw you over the wall. Pull the switch to lower the gate, and now go grab the golem to destroy the shadow crystals. At the end of the hallway is the final heartstone. Place the golem into the socket, and use the various blocks, death rings, and handholds to get to the ledge above the heartstone. Deathgrip over to it and knock it down for a cutscene…. AND BOSS TIME!!!!

    Corrupted Custodian

    Moves:

Ground Slam: Get too close to the boss and he will pound the ground.

Clap of Doom: Stay in front of the boss for too long and he will bring his hands together to make a Death Pancake.

Hurricane Spin: The boss will spin around with his arms out

Swipe Slam: The boss will take two swipes at you followed by an overhead slam.

    Strategy:

Your main advantage in this fight is that while the boss has some devastating attacks, he is fairly slow. He will telegraph his attacks with the exception of the hurricane spin. After each of his attacks, he will stop for a few moments. Use Death Grip to quickly get over to him and perform a quick combo to deal some damage.

Once you put the boss down, a cutscene will play. Once you regain control, head back through a ruined Tri-Stone and head out to the Stonefather’s Vale. Talk to Alya and Thane on the way and maybe to Muria if you're low on potions, because prepare yourself… For Boss time!

    The Guardian

The Guardian has gone berserk, and it’s up to Death to put him down. This will not be an easy feat due to its sheer size. The fight will take place in two phases.

Phase 1: Hop onto to Despair and start circling around the Guardian. Notice that his right arm if full of shadow bombs. That is your target, though the only time you can target him is after he drops his hammer. While the hammer is stuck in the ground, run to the side and shoot the bombs. This will stun the boss, allowing you to use Death Grip to reach the heartstone. Wail on it until it breaks to start Phase 2.

Phase 2: With one arm now disabled, the Guardian will now use his left arm to shoot a giant shadow bomb that will home in on you. Dodge it until it starts to glow. At this point, get the Guardian in between you and the shadow bomb. When it explodes, it will stun the Guardian. Climb up his arm to the heartstone and hack away on it until it is destroyed, and a cutscene will play.

Act 2 Kingdom of the dead

After a lengthy cutscene, we have a chat with our new merchant buddy. After that we are given a new quest: track down the Lord of Bones, and a new collection side quest: The Lost Relics. Head south through the Craglands to get to Leviathan’s Gorge. Before crossing the bridge, look to the left to find Relic of Etu-Goth #1. Cross the bridge and follow the waypoint on your map until you find the Breach.

    The Breach

Welcome to The Breach, a short mini-dungeon. Once inside, use Deathgrip to get across the gap in the floor. Once you reach some wall vines, grab onto them, perform a 180 leap, and use a series of Deathgrip targets to climb the wall. Once at the top, find the hole in the floor and jump down. On the lower level, stand on the pressure plate leading to the east corridor which will remove the gates blocking your way for a short time. To get across the gap, just wallrun and jump near the end of your wallrun. Go through the door, and once in the next room, ignore the locked door and head through the north door. You'll end up in a circular arena filled with Skeletal Warriors. Once they are all cleared out, head through the now open east door. You will come to an area with two bridges, with one needing to be extended. Before crossing the first bridge, use Deathgrip on a shadowbomb, and form a trail of bombs from the spawner to the switch on the wall. Go across the first bridge, and before the second bridge, turn around to see your trail of bombs. Shoot one in order to explode the one on the switch, and the second bridge will close. Go over the second bridge, and open the chest for a shadow key. Go back the second bridge and use the wooden beam and ledges to get across the first bridge.

Use the shadow key on the locked door, and follow the path straight ahead. At the end, jump down, fight off some skeletons, and go through the door. Follow the path down and go through another door, clear the room, and continue through the next door. You will now find yourself outside again, known as the Maw. Go across the bridge, and before going through the massive door, go to the right and follow the route until you can jump down on the right. Jump down again and enter the room. Search the upper windows to find Power Stonebite #3. Go back to the big door I mentioned earlier. Continue along the path, but before you go to the right to follow the waypoint, go straight ahead and jump down. Use the switch to reveal a way up. Make sure to be quick because it has a timer. On top of the wall, you’ll find Relic of Khagoth #1. Follow the waypoint again. You come across a Vulgrim mark on your map. Go to him, and as he appears, turn around and shoot Mystic Stonebite #15. Continue to the waypoint, and you will reach Serpents Peak.

    The Eternal Throne

You will now see a cutscene with an awesome run from death, and you will find the eternal throne. Go around the left at the entrance and climb up. Go left across the bridge and go further up. Use the vines to go ahead. Now you will see a large object moving from side to side. You will need to time your jump to get on it. Again, time your jump to get on the next ledge, jump on the next object, and onto the next to reach the path again. Go to the left and use deathgrip and the vines to go up, follow the ledges and the deathgrips to go further up, and keep following the path until you reach a hallway. Jump down, continue down the hallway, and go back up. Now you will reach a hole in the floor. Jump through to find a door and a cutscene. After you’ve reached the Eternal Throne, you will meet Draven, another fight trainer in the middle of the circle. Continue down the stairs to find a Serpent's tome. Look at the right side behind a cloth to find Resistance Stonebite #2.

Go back out and up the stairs to talk to the Chancellor. After that, you will unlock your next achievement:

    The Gilded Arena

Talk to Draven some more, go on to the Gilded Arena, and you will find Ostegoth. He will be found here from now on. Behind him, you will find Book of the deadpage #11. Continue through the doors, and on the right, shoot Mystic Stonebite #16. Go down the stairs until you reach a door, go through it, and rotate the lantern to the north. Now you can continue through its door. Wallrun across the gap in the floor and go through the door. Go up the stairs, and you will the enter the arena. Of course, he will not come out before we have to get some stuff again. If you’ve noticed, the statues all point at a spot where you can find one, but before that, there are more collectibles to get around here. So turn to the right and go up the wall. Go right and up another wall again, and go left and up another wall. Go left using deathgrip and wallrun to find Relic of Renagoth #1. Jump down two platforms and go through the door shown on your map. Go down the stairs using your wallrun every now and then. Follow the path and go through the door. Clear the room, and look up to the ceiling to find Mystic Stonebite #17. Continue through the door and follow the path until you see a lantern. Go up the platform with the pressure plate, and use deathgrip to get a shadowbomb. Throw the bomb on the corruption to clear the lantern. Use deathgrip to pick up the lantern and carry it onto the pressure switch. Now you can go through the gate and wallrun across the spikes. Go through the hallway until you reach a switch, and use it to get the lantern again with deathgrip. Carry the lantern back down the hallway and go left. Place in on the statue and turn it to the north. Go through the door, and go into the caves. On one of the prison like boxes, you will find Mystic Stonebite #18. Up the stairs, you’ll see a giant with a stone on it. Take the stone and go back, but before you can exit, you will need to clear the caves. Go through the gate that just opened. Continue until you reach the statue with the lantern and turn left. Go through the door, and on the left, you will find Power Stonebite #4. Make sure as you continue to open the chest for the dungeon map. Go up the wall and use the beam to get on the other side. Use the switch to open the door, and you’re on the ground floor of the arena. Use deathgrip to attach the stone.

Go into the hallway where some skeletons came from, and follow the path up the stairs. Go right and up ruins. Go right and go through the door that the cutscene had showed you. You will find yourself in a room with a lantern. Go through the gate that the lantern is keeping open for you, go up the stairs, and go left to collect a shadow bomb. Carry it, and while going back and jumping back to the lantern, throw the bomb on the corruption behind it. Turn the statue to the closed gate and get yourself a shadowbomb behind the corruption you’ve just destroyed. Go through the gate and throw the bomb on the corruption behind the spikes. Go back to where you find the bomb, and go left, wallrun, and turn the statue to open the bridge. Now you can get Book of the deadpage #12. Turn the statue again to the south and pass through. Walk to the back to find another lantern. Take it, then drop it to clear the room first. Get the lantern again and walk back to the statue. Go east and drop the lantern on the pressure plate. Now take the north door to go around. Once you’re around, use deathgrip to take back the lantern from its plate. Go back to the statue and turn it to the closed gate, pick up your lantern again, and go through the opened gate. Go up the stairs and place the lantern on the statue. Now you can cross the large bridge.

Go down the spiral staircase, drop down the first gap, and turn around to find Relic of Etu-Goth #2. Go further down, jump over the next gap, and go through the door. Clear the room and continue south. You now can see stone number 2, but before you can reach it, you need to clear the room. Take the stone as soon as you're finished and go back along the path to the right. The gate will open for you. The room you are now in is a weapon storage, so make sure to smash the weapons to get some useful stuff. Go through the next door and go straight, go up the wall, pull the switch, and go through the door. Put the second stone into the statue.

After that, go in to the hallway on your right, and follow the stairs up. Go right and go through the door above the statue. Clear the room. Go through the next door and take the door to your right. Follow the route to next door and… clear the room again. Continue west, step on the pressure plate, and get the shadowbomb with your deathgrip. Go to the platform behind you, and once on it, throw the bomb on the switch and you will see the platform you are on rotate. Now you’ve reached the third stone, and you will encounter a mini boss. He has a shield, so you have to dodge and hit him. After that, take the third stone and go back through the rotating platform and pull the switch as you go. Go back over the bridge and go straight through the door. Continue through the second door, jump down, and put the third stone in the statue. As soon as you do that, an enemy will come. It’s gnashor, and he will travel underground, so keep dodging him while he is underground, and as soon as he sticks his head out, grab him with your deathgrip and keep smashing him. He will go down again and use a roll attack on you, so keep dodging until you can use your deathgrip again. Wait, this sounds way to easy? Yes it does! As soon as you hit him for the second time, he will get up and become his “normal” form, and it is boss time!

    Gnashor

    Moves:

Slam attack: He will try to hit you with his head/ spine/ tail.

Foot smash: He will try to step on you.

Scream attack: He will yell at you, but his head becomes vulnerable for deathgrip.

Underground attack: His head/ spine/ tail will go underground to haunt you.

Swing attack: He will grab his head/ spine/ tail and swing it at you.

    Strategy:

When he uses slam attacks on you, dodge to the side around him, and attack him from behind. Keep dodging and smashing until he screams at you and his head becomes purple. Use your deathgrip to smash him, and he will fall into pieces. He now will go underground and follow you, so run around a bit, and as soon as the earth starts to crumble, dodge forward. He will stand up again, and you have to repeat this 3 times in order for him to die. He will use several of the attacks named above.

Fast travel to the Eternal Throne and go talk to the Chancellor. He doesn’t seem that happy, but he will grant you access, giving you the next achievement.

Fast travel to the gilded arena and now go way back down the stairs and go through the door. Pull the lever, and go through the door. Follow the right side of the cliff until you find Relic of Renagoth #2. Now use your fast travel to go to the maw (Phariseer’s area). Cross the two bridges and go right. Go straight up the wall and use the vines to get all the way up. Keep right until you go around the building and use more ledges to go up. Turn the lantern statue 180 degrees.

Fast travel to the maw (breach area) and go inside. As soon as you enter, turn around to climb up some ledges. Take the ledges to the right and go further up. Go past the statue to the other side, and you’ll see on the wall Resistance Stonebite #3. Turn this statue also 180 degrees. Now if you want all those chests we’ve come for across behind the gates earlier, now you can fast travel back again and go all the way up.

    Phariseer's Tomb

Now go to the door at your waypoint. Go inside and smash the crystal on the platform to go down. Go straight through the next door and again through the next door. Go right up the wall, grab a shadowbomb, and throw it at the corruption to reveal a large column. Go back down and get the column with your deathgrip. Push it right in front of the gate. Get another shadowbomb, go and stand on the pressure plate, and throw the bomb on the column. So now the column will hold the gate open. Go through the door behind it. Now you will come in a room with another elevator, but before you use it, go straight through the door, and behind the statue at the end of the room is Book of the deadpage #13. Now go back to the elevator and look above crystal IV to see Mystic Stonebite #19. Now hit crystal II, and you’ll see you cannot enter yet, and you will fall down a flight. Go out to the east, and wallrun up the left to find Book of the deadpage #14. Jump back down and go back to the elevator and go north.

This room is another puzzle, so to solve it, go left up the wall, keep following the ledge to the right, and push the switch. Now use deathgrip to go to the other side and open the chest in front of you for a dungeon map. Now turn around and get the bomb from the cage, and throw it on the switch across the room. Now go back to the door from which you came and now, shoot the bomb and use deathgrip to go across, while the cages switch height again. Open the chest to get a key. Go back to the elevator and kill the enemies on the way. Note: this enemy is more easily killed when using the deathgrip.

Now go to floor III and use the key on the locked door. Go up the stairs and go right. You will be locked up in the room with some of the undead witches you fought before, and as soon as they are dead, you’ll have to fight a undead general. Kill him too, and make sure to smash all the crates when the fight is over to find Relic of Etu-Goth #4. Go further north and follow the path. Now you're back in the elevator room, but don’t drop down. Use the ledges to get to a door. Once through it, right ahead is a Power Stonebite #5. Shoot the bomb and clear the corruption, use the beams to go down and right, lean back to the next beam, and use the vines on the right hand side to go and pull the lever. Jump down and use deathgrip to pull the column of its ledge. Push the column across the bridge. Push the column on the platform in order to let it move up. Go back over the bridge and uses the vines on the left to go up. Use the beams again to go back up and go back through the door. Jump on the elevator and go to floor II. Go west, step on the pressure plate, and then roll over the spikes fast. Well, as you might have expected, it’s boss time.

    Phariseer

    Strategy:

This guy is not particularly hard to deal with. He just moves and attacks like regular enemies, so I’m not going to write down his moves. All you have to do is keep dodging and fighting. There will be a lot of skeletons, so if you just keep swinging and use your ghouls and crows if you have them, you’ll be fine!

When you’ve defeated him, he now can be summoned. Stand on the plate to summon him and send him to the pressure plate on the other side of the gate. Now you can fast travel to outside the Phariseer’s tomb.

Ride the path south, and before you go inside the building you see, look up the structure to see Mystic Stonebite #20. After that, go inside and summon your lord, and send him to the switch behind the left gate. You, on the other hand, will go through the right gate. Follow the wall up on your left and follow the route until you encounter a chest. Jump down and follow the stairs down. You will find yourself back outside, but before you head out, turn around and go up on the wall left of the door. Once you’re at another chest, look to the south wall and shoot Power Stonebite #6.

Ride the path north. You will see the Maze in front of you, but we’re not going here just yet because we are not leveled up enough. Once you stand before the Maze, turn around to the right, and follow the cliff to find Relic of Etu-Goth #5. Ride back from where you came and turn left to follow the waypoint, cross the bridge, but before you go left or right at the end, you can find Book of the deadpage #15. Follow the road south but not to the door go up the hill left of the door. At the end of the hill, behind a rock is Relic of Renagoth #3. Go to the handhelds you see on the right cliff, so follow the path up and down to find a chest. At the chest, turn around and shoot Power Stonebite #7. Jump all the way down and back outside. Now go to the waypoint.

    Judicator's Tomb

Once inside, go straight ahead through the next door and take a right, summon the lord, and send him to the lever in the cage. Go through the door that just opened. Look up to find Power Stonebite #8. Go west and clear the room, pull the lever, and summon the lord. Send him to the pressure plate behind the gate. Go back, jump in the pit, and push the column between the two platforms. Climb back out of the pit on the west side. Now you can cross the pit. Go through the door, and a cutscene will follow. You need to find three souls.

For the first soul, go through the west door and cross the bridge. Go through another door and clear the room. Continue the path until you can summon a lord again, and go with him through the door and send him to the plate across the open bridge. Cross the bridge and send the lord to the east. Use deathgrip on the lord to get across. On the right side, you will find a chest with a dungeon map. On the left, there’s a bomb, so throw it on the corruption on the bridge. Take the lantern off the wall and hang it on the statue. Turn the statue west and send the lord on the plate. Cross it and go through the doors. Go right up the wall and climb the tower and collect the first soul. Fight off the enemies that just spawned. Jump down in the water to find Relic of Khagoth #2. Go back to the Judicator Lord and speak to him to give the soul. Go through the eastern door and cross the bridge. Clear the room, and you’ll get another Boss!

    Tormentor

    Moves:

Slam attack: He will try to hit you with his hook.

Push attack: He will try to push and hurt you.

Acid attack: He will throw half a circle of acid around him.

    Strategy:

This guy is also not that hard to deal with. Just dodge and attack. However, you can find yourself a little under level with these guys, depending on what difficulty you started on.

Go up the stairs in the north and summon the lord and send him to the pressure plate on the right. Wallrun the left side of the room to get to the lord, go through the hole in the wall, and you’ll find the key from the chest in this room Book of the deadpage #16. Turn around and use deathgrip to go over the gap, follow the path, and pull the lever. Go back down the stairs and climb the wall on your left. Follow the ledges to the chest and drop down one level to find Relic of Etu-Goth #6. Drop down another level in order to get back up and return to the lever. Continue the path and clear the area. Go through the door and turn left for a chest with a key. Go back to the lever and drop down the hole on your right. Go through the door, go down the stairs, and open the door with your key. Go up the stairs and climb the tower on your right. Continue going up using deathgrip until you are on the tower. Free soul number 2 and clear the platform. Drop down on the east side to land in front of a chest, walk past it, and carefully drop down for Book of the deadpage #17. Head back through the doors and across the bridge to turn in the second soul. Head through the south door and use the handholds to get across the hall and go through the door. Summon a lord, and go to the elevator. Clear the room. Hit the crystal to the second room, send your lord to the pressure plate on the west side, and go east yourself. Climb all the way up and across the room, and once on the platform above your lord, send the lord to the west pressure plate. Climb further up and across to reach a bomb and throw it on the corruption. Jump on the elevator and go through the door south. Go up the stairs and use deathgrip to go up. Walk around the square to find Book of the deadpage #18. Go to the circular room and free soul 3. Search the ceiling for Mystic Stonebite #21. Head back, but before you leave, clear the room. Use deathgrip to kill the hanging skeleton. As soon as you're done.. oh wait … are your done? NO! Boss time…

    Bone Giant

    Moves:

Slam and smash attack: He will swing his arm and then smash with the other.

Stretch attack: He will stretch out his arm.

    Strategy:

You can beat this guy easily by dodging and hitting him. You should be able to use a finishing move (cn_B) rather fast on him.

Go back and jump down in the water, and continue through the door. Ride the elevator back to the first floor and go back to the main area. Return the third soul and a cutscene will follow. Go back through the north door to go back outside.

Note: if you ever want to revisit this place, it looks like it’s not possible without interdiction but it is. Use your soulsplitter (you get it later on) and put the statue on the movable column, then transport yourself by pushing the column to the other side. Return to your physical self and voila!

    The Psychameron

Now fast travel to the Gilded Arena, and pass through it by going down the spiral stairs and going through the first door. Turn the statue 180 degrees and enter the arena. A cutscene will follow, and you are now at the Psychameron. Clear the area. Continue through the door and summon your lords, go stand on the plate in the east, and send the lords to both the pressure plates. Go through the door and again summon your lords. Go send one on the pressure plate on the left and send the other lord to the next across the bridge. Now continue and send the first lord to the plate on the right downstairs floor plate. Use deathgrip on the lord to get yourself across turn around and see another plate in a cave. Send the second lord to it. Use your deathgrip on him to get across, follow the path, go left as soon as you can, and push the switch for a shortcut later on. Go back down and continue the path, drop down, and go through the door. Summon your lords, and you will see you can send them to three switches. If you do this in the incorrect order, enemies will spawn, so send the first lord to the middle switch and your second to the right switch. Send one lord to the left switch after that. Collect the key from the chest. Go through the door and climb up lean back and jump on the platform behind you, and use deathgrip to go up a level to find Relic of Renagoth #4. Jump down and use the key. Summon the lords and stand on the pressure plate yourself, send one across the other side, and then go to the gate he opened for you. Before you go and use the handhelds, look down to see another pressure plate. Send the second lord of there. Go across the ledges and hang on to the beam to deathgrip over there using your lord. Follow the path, go up right, and push the switch for another shortcut. Go back down and follow the path until you reach a gate, and send a lord to the plate. Go through and push the switch, continue, and go up the stairs. Go left to find your first lord. Go and take the next door on your left and go down the stairs. Summon the lords again and clear the room. You will encounter a Bone Giant again, but I’m sure you know how to deal with him now. Continue through the door and wallrun to the left. Push the switch and go through the doors. Once outside, turn around and shoot Mystic Stonebite #22. Now go down and cross the bridge, and go right to find Relic of Etu-Goth #7. Go back and continue the path. You will walk into a dark room, and you will meet another boss.

    Basileus and Achidna

Note: Achidna is one of the creatures for the sidequest from Thane.

    Moves:

Basileus fast forward attack: He will shoot forward.

Basileus slam attack: He will jump and slam the ground

Achidna electric attack: She will move forward using electricity to hurt you.

Achidna Jump attack: She will make a big jump to attack you.

Achidna smash attack: She will you her two front legs to smash you.

    Strategy:

Basileus will fight for a couple of seconds on his own, but Achidna will soon come and they will join the same health bar. Basileus will ride Achidna, dodge the electric attack and keep hitting her. At this point, this is not so tough to dodge, but it will get tougher as the heal bar drops. Eventually, you will automatically pull Basileus off Achidna and continue the fight. Make sure to dodge him and use deathgrip to get in his range to attack him again. Every now and then, Achidna will drop from you out of nowhere, but I didn’t find a way to predict it, so make sure you use a health potion in time. After that, Basileus will ride Achidna again, and here is where she really gets crazy. She will throw all her attacks on you, so make sure to concentrate on your dodging. Attack when possible and use your health potions!!

Once you beat them, you will be rewarded with the next achievement!

    City of the dead

To open the door to the city of the dead, use your soulsplitter to move both pillars to the side. Go through the door, cross the room, and go through the 2nd door. Again, cross the room and go through the door. On the platform on the right, you’ll find Book of the deadpage #19. However, clear the room first. In order to open the next floor, split your soul on the left pressure plate, go with your first soul to the one behind the gate, and go with the other to push the switch. Go back to your physical self and go through the door. Go to the north door and find on your right side Relic of Renagoth #5. Go through the west doorway and follow the path, wallrun across the gap, walk past the statue, and go through the northern door. Continue and go through another door. Use your soulsplitter in the middle of the room, and use the first soul to pull the lever. Go with your second soul through the gate and collect the bomb on your left. Go back and throw it on the switch. Now you get a floating platform. Use your soulsplitter again on the platform so that your statue stays on it. Now you use one soul to pull the lever and the other to push the platform through the gate. Return to your physical self, go right up the stairs, and jump down the gap on the right. Open the chest to get a key, push the switch, and go to the door for which you needed the key. Go through it, and you find yourself on a bridge, but this bridge can turn, so split your soul on the middle of the bridge and use one soul to go up the wall at the end right side. Go around with the handholds and use them again to get in between two walls, wallrun up, using both of them and search on the left for Book of the deadpage #20. Now pull the lever. Use the other soul to go north and find another switch. Push it and return to your physical self. Now go through the west door. Go to the right and fins a lantern in a nook. Carry it across the room and go into the west path. Follow the trail, put the lantern down, wallrun across the gap, and use deathgrip to reach for the lantern. Hang the lantern on the statue. Turn the statue south and collect Book of the deadpage #21. Turn the statue west to raise a bridge, and go through the west door. Use the vines to go up and the handholds to go left, lean back, and use deathgrip to go to the other side. Climb further up with the vines and wallrun to the right. Jump down and go through the door, walk forward, and clear the area. Split yourself in the middle corner of the bridge, and go the most southern point in this room to get Relic of Etu-Goth #8. Pull the lever right in front of the relic. Unsplit and split again, use one soul to get on the wall switch and use the other to go south, clear the enemies, and as soon as you find a chest, look up and shoot Power Stonebite #9. Head back to your first soul with your second soul and collect the bomb in front of him, go across the bridge, and throw the bomb on the switch on the far left wall. Unsplit yourself and go through the door that’s been opened. Wallrun across the hall and push the switch and go through the door. Run over to the east side of this room and open the door. Push the switch, go down to the lever, and jump from there on to the bridge. Now we go through the east door. Clear the room, and maybe you want to use your reaper form once they unleash two Tormentors.

Continue through the next door and jump on the lever, but watch out, because as soon as you're able to move again, the floor will rise, and you have limited time to get out of this pit, so move fast! Once up pull the lever, go through the door and up the stairs. Go left and wallrun to get a chest with a dungeon map. Go back and follow the path, clear the enemies, and once they are dead, look up the north tower to shoot Resistance Stonebite #4. Follow the path and clear out the enemies again. Continue up and clear the enemies once more. Go through the door and wallrun the right wall and cross using the beams. Go through the door and head around the room to the west door. Continue on the path. Go up with deathgrip and use the beams to get across. Split yourself and use one soul to go stand on the pressure plate, and use the other one to go on the handholds that just revealed. Now step off the pressure plate, and your soul who’s hanging there will enter a secret room were you will find GnoMad #1. (You need to collect 4 of them). Return to your physical self and split again in order to use the same handholds to get across and push the switch. Now unsplit and go through the door. Push the switch and use deathgrip to find yourself on the platform with the big skull and the laser. Turn the skull west and jump across to get through that door. Clear the room. Take the bomb and clear the corruption in order to climb the vines. Head outside, open the chest to get a key, go back inside, jump down, and head through the east door. Jump down, cross the room, and go up the wall on the east side to use the key on the locked door. Smash the crates in the corner to find Book of the deadpage #22. Use the handholds to get across and keep following the handholds along the path until you can use a beam to drop down on a platform. Go the edge and jump down again, split yourself, and set one soul on the pressure plate on the left and go and collect the floating platform with your second soul outside the gate. Now unsplit and go and stand on the platform, split yourself again, and now set one soul on the left again and use the other to push the platform with your statue back inside. Now use your first soul to stand on the right pressure plate, and use your second again to push the statue behind the second gate. Now unsplit and push the platform on the pressure plate in order for the door to open. Push the switch and collect the bomb. Throw it on the corruption on the back of the big skull. Use deathgrip to get on the platform and push the switch. Now turn the skull to the north in order to get to the next room. As soon as you go through the doors, you will find yourself another boss!

    The Wailing Host

    Moves:

Two hand smash attack: He will smash his both arms on the platform.

Fist slam attack: He will slam his fist on the platform.

Arm swing attack: He will swing his arm across the platform back and forth.

Achidna Jump attack: She will make a big jump to attack you.

Achidna smash attack: She will you her two front legs to smash you.

    Strategy:

To beat this guy, you need to dodge backwards if he does his two hand smash, dodge sideways for his fist slam, and dodge forwards for his arm swing. While you do that, you have a little bit of time to attack his exposed hands or head, depending on what move he did. After you’ve hit him a couple of times, he will go down the hole and summon skeletons. Kill them all so the host will return. Now his fist slam attack will be two strikes instead of one, and the skeletons will come and help him. I did this by staying close to his face and keep swinging. That way, I hit him a bunch of times as well as the skeletons, and the only thing that will really hurt you is his two hand smash. He will go down again, use a finishing move, kill all the skeletons again, and repeat the second process again. Go through the north door and a cutscene will follow. Now travel to the tree of the dead and another cutscene will follow. Now you can enter the new portal.

    Act 3 Lostlight

    Part 1 The Crystal Spire

As soon as you regain control of Death after going through the portal at the tree of death to Lostlight, you ride straight to The Crystal Spire. Along the way, you’ll find a chest to the right and around the corner, next to Vulgrim is Relic of Etu-Goth #9. Continue the path, and you will come across a Death Tomb on the left, above the door is Mystic Stonebite #23. Continue again and just before you cross the bridge, look to the right corner to find Book of the deadpage #23. As soon as you arrive at The Crystal Spire, you will be attacked. Clear them and fight alongside Nathaniel. Nathaniel will give you a side quest “The lost soul”. We will do that right away, so use fast travel to do it quickly.

Nathaniel will ask you to deliver a scroll to the Eternal Throne. Once there, hand the scroll to the Chancellor, and before he gives you the information you want, he sends you on his own side quest: The Chancellor's Quarry” (we’ll do that later). Once that is done, return to Nathaniel, and he says you need to go to Muria. Once that is done, go to Muria at Tri-stone and deliver the scroll to her, and she will give you another side quest: Spark of Life” (also this one we’ll do later). Return to Nathaniel to end this quest.

Before going inside, just south of the Serpent Tome, on a statue with a sword is Mystic Stonebite #24. There is another one on a copy of this statue on the north side, Mystic Stonebite #25 run further to find in the east corner Relic of Renagoth #6. Go inside The Crystal Spire and pull the lever of the lift, and once you go outside, take a left to go around the building. Fight off some enemies and look at the statue for Power Stonebite #10. Split your soul just before the gap in the floor, leave 1 soul at the edge of the gap, and use your other soul to get to the other side with the handholds. Take the yellow bomb with your second souls and toss it to your first. With your first soul, walk back from were you came and toss the bomb form a distance into the corruption.

Climb the handholds behind the corruption and go up the stairs to reach a cutscene. Here is where you meet Archon, and he will ask you to recover the Rod of Arafel in Earth.

Talk to Archon again, and after your conversation, go through the pool to Earth.

    Part 2 Earth

As soon as you gain control of Death, help the Hellguard to fight off the enemies. After the fight you reach a cutscene, talk to Uriel. Uriel will give you a side quest “Release the trapped Hellguard”.

After you talk to Uriel, find on a building north on the square Mystic Stonebite #26. Go to the east of the map, and as soon as you approach the red crystals, you will be attacked by some enemies, so clear them out. Go into the door, and you will be attacked again. Make sure to walk back a little every time you get attacked by a wave on Earth, because with the guns, it’s easier to control the fight form a little distance. You will be attacked along the way on earth by little groups of enemies, so just take them out with your gun. Take a right as soon as you come out of the building. (Up left Trapped Hellguard #1, shoot it to release). Go straight through the street, and at the end, take a right. Go on through the red crystals and find Book of the deadpage #24. Go down the stairs. (In this room to the right Trapped Hellguard #2, shoot it to release). Go ahead and follow the route on your minimap and go down the stairs. (Down the stairs, take a left Trapped Hellguard #3, shoot it to release)

Down the stairs, take a right and follow the path. Once you are in the big area, look up the ceiling in the middle of the room to find Mystic Stonebite #27. You will find a Rod of Arafel at the back of the room, as that’s the large green object at the wall. At this wall, go right to find Relic of Renagoth #7. Shoot the green object at the wall to reveal the Rod. Continue through the wall and use deathgrip to find Book of the deadpage #25. Go up the stairs, and you will return at the main central area where you will find Uriel again.

Go through the opening Uriel just created, and follow the route of the minimap down a narrow hallway. To the left, you’ll find Book of the deadpage #26. Once you’re out of the tunnel, you’ll be attacked by a somewhat larger wave. Just keep shooting at them, and you will be fine.

Go ahead, before you cross a bridge look up at your right to find Mystic Stonebite #28. Just before the end of the street, go left. On your right, there is a chest, so open it to find the dungeon map. (Follow the road to the North, turn around for Trapped Hellguard #4, shoot it to release). Follow the street all the way north for Relic of Renagoth #8.

Across from the chest, there is an opening between the red crystals. Go through that opening, and go through the building. Once out of the building, go into the building across the street to find Book of the deadpage #27. (Once you come out of that building, look up right for Trapped Hellguard #5, shoot it to release). If you follow the street, you will encounter a Noss. You might think he is some kind of boss, but actually he is not. He will release swarms at you and fires a sort of sonic blast attack at you, but if you just keep shooting it, it will go down easily. Don’t worry about the smaller enemies when you keep firing at him, as you can take them out after. They don’t take much of your health. From where you saw your first Noss, look right for Resistance Stonebite #5.

Follow the road south into the tunnel. The tunnel is blocked, so go into the south tunnel, and above a chest, you’ll find Power Stonebite #11 (At the end of the tunnel, go right up, for Trapped Hellguard #6, shoot it to release) Keep following the minimap, and as soon as you're back in the big tunnel, there is a curve leading the tunnel north. (In the curve there is a room to your right, here is Trapped Hellguard #7, shoot it to release).

Go down through the crystals and follow the path. As soon as you go back up, the second Rod of Arafel is to your right, so shoot it. Go through the wall and follow the path back to Uriel. After talking to Uriel, look behind you to see on the right Book of the deadpage #28. Go through the hole Uriel created for you and follow the path. As soon as you go out of the small path, you will encounter your second Noss. Just keep shooting as you did with the first.

At the end of the road, go right on to the bridge. (Before going right, at the end, were the road stops, you find Trapped Hellguard #8, shoot it to release). Follow the road on the bridge. Just after you see a gap on the left side of the bridge, turn around to find Mystic Stonebite #29. Once the bridge ends, turn around to go up. As soon as you are on the upper floor of the bridge, you will encounter your third and last Noss. Again, just keep shooting at him. Watch your health a little at this point, because there are more smaller enemies than before. (Before you leave the bridge, turn around for Trapped Hellguard #9, shoot it to release). Once you leave the bridge to the left, you see the last Rod of Arafel. Shoot it and pass through. Enter the building, and in the first hole to the left is Relic of Etu-Goth #10. Into the next somewhat bigger room, right in front of you is Power Stonebite #12. Follow the path back to Uriel. (Along this path, just before you go out to meet Uriel, you will find Trapped Hellguard #10, shoot it to release)

Keep talking to Uriel. After you talked the her, go to pool to get back to Lostlight.

    Part 3 The Ivory Citadel.

Once you are back at Lostlight, you reach a cutscene were you speak to Archon. He will give you “wings” to fly to the Ivory citadel. So when you reach the Citadel, go inside. Once inside, look to the left to find your way up. On this floor, pull the lever. As you see, there is a little cutscene where there are two golden “orb statues” that will clean the room of corruption. Go back down after you release the lever and go through the door which just got cleared of corruption.

Follow the stairs up and walk along the hallway, cross the gap by using your Death grip. Open the door and go into another hallway. At the end of this hallway, open the door to find yourself in a circular room. In this circular room, take the door to your right. Follow the hallway to go outside. Once you go outside, take a right and go up the stairs. Go through the gap at the top of the stairs and go into the tunnel. Follow the tunnel and make your way back up, using the handholds. Once you’re up, first go Southeast for Mystic Stonebite #30. Follow the path to the Northwest, and at the end of the hall, go left to go back outside.

Make your way across the gap with your deathgrip to reach the next space. Clear out the angels attacking you. You will see some corruption at the edge, so go down behind the corruption to find a chest with the dungeon map. Go back up using the handholds. When you turn around, you can see that you can run along the wall above the ledge were you have found the chest. Tap cn_A to switch walls in your wallrun to reach the next space.

If you walk a few steps forward, you will see a big circular “plate” on the ground. Use your soulsplitter to put your statue on the middle of this plate. Use your first soul to go to the right to find a ground switch, which will open a gate through the ditch. Use your second soul to go through the gate, go left past the hole, and climb the wall to find a second ground switch to your left. Once you have opened the plate where your statue is standing on, your statue will fall down a floor. Return to your physical self to go through the hallway and climb up on the other side. Directly after that, climb the wall in front of you. Fight off the enemies attacking you.

Use your deathgrip to get the yellow bomb and throw it at the corruption. Use your deathgrip to get across. Open the door to go into the next room. Jump down and attack the blue orb to get a new ability, the Voidwalker.

    I Can Has Cake?
1 guideOffline Game ModeSingle PlayerMain Storyline

At this point, the Citadel gets a little more difficult. We have obtained the Void walker, and from this point, we have to make our way around the citadel using this ability.

Open the two portals in the room to reach the floor above you. Go outside and get across using your deathgrip. Clear out the enemies. Use your voidwalker to open the portal on your platform and the portal directly behind you. Go left around the portal you came out of to find another big plate on the floor. Use the switch behind the plate to open it up and jump through the opening.

Once you are down in the hallway, walk to the middle of the crossroads, open the portal on your left (Northwest), and charge the portal on the floor at the Northeast hallway. Jump in the first portal to fly up on to the outside platform.

Use your deathgrip to get to next platform, continue forwards, and clear out the enemies. These enemies are new, and your deathgrip has no effect on them, so they are a little tougher than some of the enemies you’ve encountered so far.

Once you’ve cleared them out, continue forwards. At the end of this platform, open the portal to your left and the portal in front at the next platform. Clear out the enemies. Take a left and fight off some other enemies. Once cleared, open the portal you see in the distance behind a golden statue orb, and open the portal on your platform. You don’t go through the portal, but you connected the two orbs, so now they will clean the corruption for you. Take the path that just revealed after the corruption is gone.

Now you will be at a big circular platform, so follow the path until you can go left through the broken opening and jump down. Open the portal on the ground and charge the one on the wall. Go back outside and follow that path up the stairs. Above the stairs is Mystic Stonebite #31. Go through the door and fight off the enemies. Use your soulsplitter to put your statue on the plate at the floor, and use your souls to get up on the switches. As you can see, your statue will fall through the plate, into the first portal, and will blast out of the second, leaving you on a platform. Return to your physical self.

Turn around and find your way up the tower using handholds and deathgrip. Once you’re up, you will notice that the water is black and filed with corruption. So we need to clean the water first. To do that, open the portal on the floor below in the Northwest behind the golden orb, and open the portal at your platform.

Once the water is clean, follow the water down, and at the second waterfall, turn around for Relic of Renagoth #9. Go into a pool. After that, again follow the water until you can grab the yellow bomb. Throw the bomb into the corruption to reveal a path up. Go up using the plants at the wall. Go left and go through the door to your right at the end.

You will find yourself in a big circular room, so make your way around the other side and go through the door. Continue until you are back outside again.

Before the long stairs up, jump down on the left side. Defeat the Corrupted champions and the other enemies. Once the gate opens, go through and make a left until you reach another circular room. Before we drop down, go left to go outside, keep left, and you’ll find Book of the deadpage #29. Drop down the crack in the floor. Go outside and clear the platform of enemies. Use the deathgrip which just appeared to go to the handholds, and wallrun until you reach some handholds to go up. Once you’re up, continue until you find a switch next to a door at the end of this platform. Use the switch to open the door. Don’t go through the door. We only opened it to created a shortcut to get back later. Turn around to see Relic of Renagoth #10. Walk back a little to the portal (1) on this platform, somewhere next to the door you just opened. Split your soul, use the first soul to open the portal, and turn the first lever seen form the portal. Use your second soul to open the portal (2) which your first soul made appear. Go back to your first soul and release the lever. Go to portal (1) with your first soul, and now you can see a portal through this portal (1). Shoot a charge through portal (1). Use your second soul to turn the second lever seen form portal (1). Use your first soul to go back to portal (1), open it, and go through. As you can see now, your first soul is transported to a platform, but since your soul is still split, you need to get your physical self over here. Use the switch to open the gate. Return to your physical self and go through the gate.

Go and follow the path until you are at a wall, and wallrun to another platform. Kill the enemies on this platform. On this platform, there is a chest, so open it for a Skeleton Key. From the chest, go right to go up a wall. Grab the yellow bomb and throw it at the corruption. Go forward through the corruption you just destroyed and find yourself back at the long stairs we’ve been earlier.

Go up the long stairs, and use the skeleton key to go through the door. After you are inside, look right up to see Resistance Stonebite #6. You see that this water is also corrupted. To clean it, open the portal in this room, go back down the long stairs, and at the end, jump down to the left and go left into the building. Take another left to follow the path to go underneath the area you just opened the first portal. Jump in the crack in the floor and open that portal in this room. To go back upstairs, you can now just jump to the portal, instead of walking all the way back up.

Follow the water to the right (north) after the first waterfall is Relic of Etu-Goth #11. Drop down another waterfall, then jump in the pool, and just after you turn right to follow the water, jump down on the left side into a cave with water to find GnoMad #2. Make your way back up the long stairs again to go back and follow the water left (South). At the end, use your deathgrip to go to the next platform. Follow the dried out water way and take a left on the narrow platform. At the end of this platform, go up and through the door on your right.

Go around the room, and on your way, look at the statue for Power Stonebite #13. Fight the enemies and go through the door on the other side. Go down the stairs and through another door to get back outside. Once outside, go left and go through the door. Jump in the water and get back out using the handholds. Follow the path to go outside and go right. Go down the stairs, make a U-turn, and go down another set of stairs. Go forward. At the end of this road, use your voidwalker to open the portal at your right-hand side on a lower level and open the portal in front of you. Use deathgrip to get across and jump in the portal.

On the platform you are now, there is a portal above you on broken wall, so charge this portal. Open and jump through the portal at the end of the platform. Once you have been charged out of the portal, you need to wallrun to the right.

At the end of this platform, you see a portal you can wallrun too. Open this one and look a little lower to see another portal in the distance. Charge that portal. Wallrun through the first portal and go through. Once you’ve been charged out of the second portal, use the handholds to go up and right to get on the next platform. Follow the platform and make a left, as this will trigger a cutscene. Fight the enemies in this room.

Once everything is clear, continue West. Go down to the circular room, go straight to the other side, and on the platform, there will be Book of the deadpage #30. Go south and back up to reach the next puzzle in the citadel. Once you’re at the switch, split your soul, and use one of your souls to turn it. Use your other soul to get the floating object. Return to your physical self to get on the floating object. Split your soul again, as your statue is now on the object. Now do the same thing with your souls to get the statue in the circle. Return to yourself again.

You can see that one opening is filled with corruption, so we need to clear it again. So go through the pathway that is open. Once through, go left to find a switch. In the right distance up a cliff face is Power Stonebite #14. Split your soul again and use one soul to turn the switch to make another portal visible. Use your second soul to open this portal and the one just on the lower left side of the other portal. After that, take your first soul, and release the switch to shoot a charge through the second portal. Use your second soul to go back to the room with the golden orb in it, but do not go into the room. Instead, go down just left of the door. Go back up with the handholds to see the portal right in front of you in the distance. Make sure to keep enough distance before opening, so that you won’t change into your physical self automatically. Return to your physical self and turn the switch again. This will charge the first orb, and as soon as you let go of the switch, the two orbs are connected and will clean the corruption.

Go back to the room, where now the door has been cleared of corruption, and go through. Open the portal in front of you and go left to go into the big circular room with a portal on the ceiling. Open this portal as well. This will clean the water of corruption. Behind some leftover corruption, you will find Relic of Khagoth #3. Follow the water to reach another platform. Wallrun along the wall to get close to a portal. Open this portal and look to a gap in the wall to your right to open a second portal. Go through the first portal.

As soon as you're through the portals, jump down the hole in the ground, and follow the path through the cave to get back to a hallway. Follow the hallway until you see a lever on your left. Pull the lever and go through the door to find out all the water is nice and clean again.

Since the water is clear of all corruption, you now can reach the door on the other side, so go through it. Look behind the left statue for Relic of Etu-Goth #12. Open the portal in front of you, then turn around to see a portal high above you, and charge that portal. Go through the first portal, and you will be upstairs. If you look to your left, you can open that portal and the one behind you to get Resistance Stonebite #7. Go back to where you were before getting this stone, and if you look to your right, you can wallrun along this wall to get to the door. Once through the door, go up the long stairs, and go through another door. It’s been a while, but it is Boss Time!

    Jamaerah the Scribe

    Moves:

Fast charge attack: Jamaerah will shoot little burst charges at you.

Big charge attack: Jamaerah will shoot a big ball charge at you.

Drop attack: Jamaerah will drop and create a wave attack.

Tentacle attack: After a little damage, he will try to hurt you with his corrupted tentacles.

Laser attack: After Jamaerah has revealed the portal beneath, he will attack you with a laser.

    Strategy:

Dodge the small burst charges and open two random portals at the ground floor. Align yourself with one of the portals and wait for him to shoot a big charge at you. Dodge this ball at the last minute, and the ball will go through the portals, hitting Jamaerah. As soon as he is stunned by his own attack, keep attacking him, until he will rise above you. After he has gone up, he will drop a wave attack on you as soon as he hits the ground, so keep an eye on him and jump as he hits the ground. At this stage, some Corrupted Angels will join the fight. Destroy them, but make sure you don’t get to close to Jamaerah and his tentacles. Also, he will still fire small and big charges at you, so dodge the small ones and try to get the big charge through the portals again. He will go up again and try to do the drop attack again, but this time, as he goes down, he will reveal a portal beneath him. Open this portal and one on the second floor. As soon as he will attack with his laser, try to align yourself directly on the opposite site of the laser, behind the portal, and he will kill himself with his laser.

    Part 4 Return Lostlight

After your little talk to Jamaerah, you need to go back to Archon. You can fast travel directly to him, but without spoiling… Maybe you want to talk to Nathaniel first and get some health and wrath potions form him. So as soon as you approach Archon, a cutscene will trigger, and what about that! Boss time!

    Archon

    Moves:

Throwing stones attack: Archon will shoot bursts of stones at you.

Wave attack: Archon will rise a little and shoot a wave of black corruption at you.

Shockwave attack: Archon will rise high above you and sends a shockwave at you as soon as he drops to the ground.

Flying charge attack: Archon will fly a bit form the ground and charge you.

    Strategy:

So, first of all, in this fight, if you have the birds to help you, the fight will be much easier. Make sure not to use them if he is surrounded with a yellow glow, because that is his defense. Ok, so dodge his throwing stone stack by dodging from left to right. Dodge the corruption wave by going out of its range to the back. Attack him with your swords in between his attacks. As soon as he goes up, use deathgrip to do an attack on him, but make sure you just hit him a couple of times and go out of the way again for his shockwave attack. As soon as he is back up, use your deathgrip again for a couple of hits and get out of the way again. Now he will do his throwing stones attack from the sky, so just dodge them again. Repeat this until he falls down and you attack him on the ground. As soon as you can hit cn_B, there will be a cutscene, but that’s not the end. The fight continues with his stone and wave attack, so just keep dodging and attacking, and eventually, he will use his flying attack. This is also easy to dodge. Just keep dodging and attacking until he is dead.

    Part 2 Sidequests

    Spark of Life

Muria has created a monster: Ghorn, and she now tasks you to kill it. Ghorn likes to hide out in the Scar. Head to the transition to the Charred Pass and take the other route instead of heading to the Cauldron. To actually enter the Scar, you must have the Deathgrip ability and use it to swing across a gap. Before you go inside, look up to see a broken pipe. In it is Power Stonebite #17. Once inside, travel down the staircase, and come face to face with Ghorn. Ghorn does not seem to like the fact that Death has come by unannounced and starts smashing the floor dropping you into the basement. Once you land in the basement, some corrupted construct warriors will spawn. Slay them and then head down the stairs to the west and fall down the hole in the middle of the room. In the next area of the basement, take out the stinger hive that is spawning noxious stingers constantly. Once that is taken care of, wall-run through the south passage while jumping back and forth between walls. As you reach a circular pit of lava, Ghorn will show up again and start smashing the ground making the lava rise. Quickly scale the pit before you become extra crispy.

Once you reach the top, head over to the inactivate custodian, and wake him up. Roll him over to the west orb slot and fire his chain punch at the target. Cross the chain, and at the end, use deathgrip to swing from the broken pipe to solid ground. Turn west and swing across two more deathgrip targets. Clear out the enemies that spawn. Now wall-run across the north wall and jump when you start sliding off the wall, and use deathgrip to grab a ring and swing over to a hand hold. Climb up the wall and open the chest with a skeleton key. In this room, use the grips to reach a high ledge for Book of the deadpage #33. Head back to the custodian, and unhook him from the wall. Roll over to some corruption crystals and smash them. Get off the custodian and enter the door. Use deathgrip to get across the pit of lava you climb up before and enter the door. A group of enemies will spawn as soon as you enter. Clear them out for some breathing room and then wall-run across the east wall to get to a locked door. Use the key you got before and unlock it.

Use deathgrip to swing over to a pillar. Be careful, since as soon as you land on the pillar, it will begin to sink into the lava below. Navigate around the pillar and swing to the next pillar which also sinks. Repeat the process for the next pillar to reach solid ground. Enter the next room and kill off all of the enemies the reside there. Make way to the inactive custodian, but before you can get there, a trap is sprung. A set of gate will spring up trapping you with some mid-boss level enemies. Once they are dead, climb the north wall and make your way across the room. Pull the lever to free Death and more importantly the custodian. Drop from the ledge and activate the custodian. Once you have done that, some more enemies will spawn. Clear them out and head over to where they spawn for the chest containing the dungeon map. Get own the custodian and travel across the lava field to a cavern full of lava. To raise the gate out, two cranks must be pulled. Take the custodian west and park him in the orb slot there. Get off and wait for the pipes to stop belching out lava so you can wall-run past them. Climb up the last handhold to get to one of the cranks and turn it. Return to the custodian and take him to the east side of the cavern. Park him on the orb slot and use the chain punch to make a path across, timing your passage with the lava-spewing pipes. Turn the crank at the end and return to the custodian. Now that the way is clear, head north.

Eventually, a gate will bar your progress. Climb off the custodian and scale the nearby wall to get around. Once you touch back down, a host of enemies will spawn with the added danger of lava falling from the ceiling. Once they are dead, the gate will lower, allowing the custodian to pass. Continue on through the door. On the other side, destroy the corruption crystals to lower a bridge for you to cross. Take the custodian to the south orb slot and park him there using his chain as a bridge. Once on the other side climb the wall to get to the boss room of the dungeon.

    Ghorn

    Moves:

Slam and Charge: Ghorn will slam the ground and then charge at you at high speed.

Punch: A normal melee attack for when you get too close for.

Rocket Punch: Ghorn will shoot out his fist with spinning blades on it.

Lava bubbling: Ghorn will pound the ground, causing lava to bubble to the surface.

Explosion: After taking some damage, he will fall to his knees, and explode, reforming a short moment later.

Summon: Ghorn will summon tainted constructs to distract you during the fight.

    Strategy:

After each of his melee attack, Ghorn will stop for a few seconds. This will be the time to get the damage in. Don't get too greedy as he explode after not too long. At the halfway point of the fight, Ghorn will start summoning his minions to distract you. Also, the lower his health gets, the more Ghorn will like to use his lava bubble move.

Once the fight is finished, head back to Muria for your reward.

    The Maker Warrior

While in Tri-Stone, talk to Thane and challenge him to a duel. Just dodge around him and attack when you have an opening. Once Thane has gone down, he will "reward" you with 4 sides quests asking you to track down 4 different monsters.

    Find and Kill Gorewood

After receiving the quest from Thane, head to the Weeping Crag. Head up the stairs to a locked door. Wallrun to the right to reach a pole and drop down. Use the handholds and pole to get to the balcony above you. Eliminate the enemies that spawn and head through the north door. Go up the handholds in front of you and use voidwalker to get to the end of the hall, go in the treasure room, jump in the water at the end of the room, and dive to find GnoMad #3. Go back to the balcony room, go through the west door, and go through a series of rooms till you get to one with a pressure plate. Stand on it and wait for the platform to rise to the top. Step off and use the hand hold to get to the top of the platform and onto to the ledge before the platform falls back into the water. Continue through the door and down the stairs in the next room. Use the wall on the right to wallrun to the other side of the room. Grab the skeleton key in the chest and head out the newly opened door. Once back on the balcony, head over to the gap in the railing and drop down a level. Use the key on the door here. In the new room, kill the stalker that spawns, and then drop down the hole in the northwest corner of the room. Before dropping further down, wallrun all the way to the back here to find Book of the deadpage #34. Drop into the pool of water. Dive into the water and follow it. At the end is Gorewood.

    Gorewood

    Moves:

Homing Roots: Gorewood will summon roots that will chase you around the room, causing Death to have to constantly dodge them. If hit, button mash cn_B to get free.

Swipe: Gorewood's standard melee attack if Death gets to close.

    Slam: a typical ground slam

Charge: When Death tries to keep his distance, Gorewood will try to close the gap by ramming into Death.

    Strategy:

Once able to withstand a few hits from Gorewood, remember that all his attacks are fairly ease to dodge with the exception of homing roots. Try to lure him into using either his Swipe or Charge attack, dodge around, and get some counter attacks in. Just rinse and repeat until he is defeated.

After Gorewood is dead, Death will be rewarded with the legendary hammer Gorewood Maul.

Check the walls before you head out to find Power Stonebite #18.

    Find and Kill Bheithir

Fast travel over to Baneswood, and head north to enter the mini dungeon, The Nook. Once you enter, there should be an inactive golem to your right. Use your Maker’s Key to animate it. Climb aboard and roll over to the slot in the floor. Use the golem’s chain punch to create a path to the other side. On the opposite of the door, you’ll be attacked by several tainted constructs. Once you have killed them all, a gate will open reveling a shadow bomb. Use it to destroy the two sets of crystals in the room. Climb the wall behind the crystals, and use the beams, poles, and handholds to get to a platform on the right. Drop down into the hallway and continue on.

When you get to the next room, eliminate the Stinger nest as soon as possible. Once that is taken care of, head to the South and pull the lever to open up two doors next to it. The door on the right will lead back to a previous room and create a shortcut. Before you go through the left door, turn around to find a deathgrip hook on the wall to your left, and go up to find Book of the deadpage #35. Now go through the left door you just were, which will lead to some optional treasure. At the bottom of the stairs, head to the left via the platforms, and enter the door. In the next room, there is a ball on a ramp trapped by some spikes. To lower the spikes, climb onto the two golden beams. Once the ball is free, roll it over to the elevator on the left. Raise the elevator and use a charged shove to get the ball onto the opposite elevator (you might have to try 1 or 2 times, since the ball can roll back off). Once at the top of the room, roll the ball into its socket to proceed to the next room. Before you do, go back and stand on the second lift and look at the left wall for Mystic Stonebite #33. Head through the next series of rooms to get back to the courtyard. Now get back on the main path by going into the north door. In the next room, climb the broken stairs to get to the exit.

From the courtyard, head down the spiral staircase to an open room. Use Deathgrip to get across the lava onto a broken bridge to have Bheithir spawn.

    Bheithir

    Moves:

Fire Breath: Bheithir will breathe fire at the ground dealing heavy damage and igniting the ground for 10-15 seconds.

Change: Bheithir will charge down the bridge

Tail whip: When Death is behind Bheithir, Bheithir will swing its tail to knock Death back.

    Slam: Standard boss slam attack

    Strategy:

What makes this fight tricky is that Death has a very limited area to move around in, and most of Bheithir's attacks take up most of the area. If it tries to corner you, use the handholds around the bridge to maneuver around it. Use a fast hitting weapon to get in close and hopefully goad it into using Slam. Just float like a butterfly and sting like a bee until Bheithir dies.

Once Bheithir is dead, death will be rewarded with the legendary scythes Bheithir's Talons.

Find and Kill the Deposed King

After exploring the Kingdom of the Dead for a bit, a fast travel point will appear on the map between Leviathan's Gorge and the Breech. Go through the door and circle the stairs further down. You come across a hallway right when the game says you’ve reached the Lair of the Deposed King, but just go further down the stairs. At the bottom, you will find the door to a deathtomb. If you have enough of a complete chapter of the book of the dead, you could enter now, but we will come back later. Look above the door to find Power Stonebite #19.

Go back up the spiral stairs, and go through the first door you encounter. Drop down onto the wooden beam and use deathgrip to get across, and once you are on the second beam, go up using deathgrip and go up the ledge. Follow the hallway, go up the stairs, and find a chest on your right with a shadow key in it. Go back to the spiral stairs. Go back up the stairs and go through the next door you encounter.

Once you got through the door, go straight down the stairs. Go down on the broken stairs on your right. Underneath the broken stair is Relic of Etu-Goth #14. Fight off all enemies and go through the door. Go through the door for which you needed the key. Go up on the platform and hit the crystal in the middle to activate the elevator that will take you down. At the end of the hallway, you will meet Argul.

    Argul The Deposed King

    Moves:

Freeze Slam: He'll slam his mace into the ground and if you are too close, freeze you.

Double Melee: He'll take two swipes at you.

Shield Charge: He'll put his shield in front of him and charge at you.

Hurricane: He'll extend his weapon and start spinning around the room at a fast pace.

    Strategy:

The fight with Argul will play out like a much larger fight against an undead general. Your best chance of getting some hits in is when he does his double slam attack. Just be careful of the hurricane spin, and he'll be pushing up daisies in no time.

Once the fight is finished, you'll be rewarded with the Scepter of the Deposed King. Head back to the Maker's Realm and turn in the quest which will get you the achievement:

    • The Kingdom of the Dead: In the Lair of the Deposed King on the bottom floor
    • Lostlight: Halfway between the Tree of Life and the Crystal Spire
    • Shadow's Edge: Right after leaving The Black Stone. In here, you will also find Power Stonebite #23 above the exit and Power Stonebite #24 on the ceiling. Also, you’ll find Relic of Khagoth #5 in the middle of the room.

Once you have opened all 4 tombs, you will get the Abracadabra achievement.

    The Chancellor's Quarry

The Chancellor will send you to kill the Soul Arbiter, who hides out in his self-named maze. Travel to the Spine and head for the Maze. Pull the switch to reveal a path to a portal to the interior of the maze. Inside the maze, there are 10 levels with progressively stronger enemies the farther you go down. On each level, there is a secret treasure by using a different set of directions. I put the directions for the secrets. It’s not necessary for the achievement, but it will help you stack on potions and stuff. It is possible to continue without the secrets if you just follow the normal directions. If you do the secrets, you will automatically return to the level you were on, so the directions stay the same for both options. Every time you finished a level, you will get a portal to continue “further” into the maze. Once you go through that one, you will be able to transport out of the maze in case you want to quit for now or stack on potions.

Make sure to look in the maze for:

    • - Mystic Stonebite #34 Between floors 7 and 8.
    • - Power Stonebite #25 In the entrance area.

The solution to the maze is:

When you reach level 11, you come face to face with the Soul Arbiter himself.

    Soul Arbiter

    Moves:

Two Swings: The Soul Arbiter will take two swipes at you with his weapon.

Slam: The Soul Arbiter will jump into the air and slam the ground unleashing shockwave.

Summon: The Soul Arbiter will summon various minions to help him out.

Barrier: When he summons minions: he will become invulnerable until the minions are dealt with.

    Strategy:

Unstoppable is invaluable in this fight, due to the fact he dishes out a lot of damage. Just activate it if you cannot dodge an attack and then counter attack with a volley of blows of your own. At each quarter of his health bar, the Soul Arbiter will summon minions and become invulnerable. Take out the minions to lower the shield.

    Act 7 – Crucible and New game+

Now it’s time to finish the game... Well, maybe the story at least for now, because for actually finishing the game, you have quite a bit of work left. So go to the main story and enter the well of souls. As soon as you enter, an achievement will pop.

    The Root Of Corruption

    Open The Well Of Souls

    The Root Of Corruption

You will see a cutscene and you will have a boss!

    Avatar of Chaos

    Moves:

Ground slam: He will jump into the air and slam the ground.

Corruption swing hit: He will take a swing at you with his corruption branches on his back.

Normal hit: He will do a combo of easy hits.

    Strategy:

This boss is relatively easy to some others you’ve encountered. Just dodge his slam and swing attacks, and keep hitting him with your combos. He will go down rather fast and easy, especially when you’re at this level and you have a nice skill and weapon set. Once you’ve defeated him, you will unlock these achievements.

Now you can select the option to start a new game +. Make sure you’ve got all the achievements for the collectables by now, because you will lose that progress. However, you will keep your weapons, level, etc. If you took my advice with going for Apocalyptic in the first run, you should take easy now. It’s far easier for the crucible! Well, now you have to rush through the story in order to get to level 30. You can do that by only doing the main quest, which well get you to 30 right before the end of the game, or you can do all the side quests too and then the following achievement will pop around the time you travel to the angel realm.

Well, that leaves us with just one thing to do.

    The crucible.

Make sure to stock on potions before going to the crucible. Fast travel to the crucible.

The crucible contains 100 waves of fighting, with enemies going stronger every wave. After every set of 5 waves, you will be asked if you want to go further or if you want to go for the loot. Since we are going for the last achievement, we’ll keep going.

After every 25 waves, you will get a reward with some special items.

Once you complete the first 4 stages, you will unlock:
