Buku Sudoku

Buku Sudoku is an extremely easy 200 gamerscore. There are in-game "cheats" that help you pretty much the entire way, and no achievement is difficult thanks to these in-game helpers. you will be doing the following:

  • 1 achievement for completing the games tutorial
  • 2 achievements for completing timed games
  • 3 achievements for completing multiplayer games
  • 2 achievements for reaching a cumulative score
  • 4 achievements for completing normal games

You will need a boosting partner for this game as the online servers are a ghost town. With a boosting partner, the multiplayer portion goes extremely fast. The only achievements that take any time are the one for completing 200 puzzles and the two score based achievements, but they are both cumulative across every game you play in all modes combined, so they are not as difficult as they may sound. Enjoy!!

There are 2 in-game "cheats" that do not void achievements you can use. If you go to the help and options menu, you will see a category called "Helpers". Here, you will be able to turn on "Autopencil" and "Show Errors". If you turn on Autopencil, the game will highlight all possible numbers in an empty square while greying out all numbers that are mathematically eliminated. This eliminates the need to do any math yourself and speeds the game up quite a bit. If you turn on Show Errors to its max, the game will play a chime when you get a number right and a buzz when you select one wrong. This means you can guess all you want and still finish every puzzle no problem. You can change your entry as many times as you want to get the correct number and then move on.

Also, if you REALY want to cheat, you can look up the many online Sudoku solvers that are all over the internet. One such page is:

http://www.sudoku-solutions.com/

With these, all you have to do is type in the given numbers and have the website solve the grid for you. Either way you do it, this game is super easy to 100%, and the only thing that will take any time is the 200 games played. Enjoy!

SINGLE PLAYER

To start Buku Sudoku, from the game's main menu, we will go to Help and Options. Scroll down to Tutorial. The game's tutorial will only take a few minutes, but it is worthwhile, as it will not only teach you how to play the game, but also give you a rundown of the games controls. There are 8 total lessons, and they do not take any longer than a few minutes each.

Beat the Basics

Complete lessons 1-5 in tutorial 1 and lessons 1-3 in tutorial 2.

Now that the tutorial is finished, we will move on to the main game. Load up the following single player settings:

  • Game type: Timed
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Grid Size: 6x6
  • Advanced Settings: Off

This will load up an easy 6x6 grid. The 6x6 grid will have you find the numbers 1-6 in 8 boxes instead of the usual 1-9 in 9 boxes. On easy, with autopencil on, the game will fill in most of the numbers for you already and even have most of the correct numbers highlighted for you in the boxes that are still left "blank". You will have 3 minutes to complete a timed game, but with all of the numbers already filled in, it should not take you any longer than 45-60 seconds to finish the game. Do this a total of 10 times for your next achievement...

Time Bandit

Beat the time limit for 10 puzzles in Timed mode.

Load up the following settings for your next game:

  • Game type: Casual
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Grid Size: 8x8
  • Advanced Settings: Off

In medium, the game will give you about half of the numbers on the grid already. Other squares will be blank, but when you hover over them with your cursor, a selection of numbers appear with the possible solutions highlighted (if you have autopencil on). If a number is grayed out, that means that the game has eliminated that number for you already by looking around and seeing what's already used up, leaving you to not have to do any real math yourself. The game will tell you if you pick a wrong number (if you have show errors on) by making the number red and playing an audio sound, so you are free to miss as many times as you want until the number comes up blue. You cannot fail, and this game is not timed, so take as long as you like to finish it. We only have to play this game one time before we move on to the next.

The next game will have the following settings:

  • Game type: Casual
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Grid Size: 9x9
  • Advanced Settings: Off

For this game, we will want to finish the grid in under 1 minute and 20 seconds. This will be easily accomplished with "autopencil" and "show errors" on. If you want to REALY cheat, load up the same settings, but under Advanced Settings, select game LE01, and input the following numbers:

169578324
287943651
534612987
821467593
673259418
945381762
798136245
416725839
352894176

Use this grid, or do it yourself. Either way, you will earn the following...

Too Fast

Complete a single player 9x9 puzzle in 1 minute and 20 seconds. Hint: you can turn autopencil on.

Super Sizes

Next load up another 6x6...

  • Game Type: Casual
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Grid Size: 6x6
  • Advanced Settings: Off

On hard, it will not start you out with a lot of numbers, but you can still use "autopencil" to narrow the available numbers down, as well as "show errors" for an audio cue when you hit the wrong number. Complete this game for an achievement for winning a game on all difficulties.

MULTIPLAYER

Now we are moving into the multiplayer portion of the game. You will want to find a boosting partner as the online servers are a ghost town. This game was released back in 2008, and nobody plays anymore. From the game's main menu, select "multiplayer", "xbox live", and then "player match". From here, you can sign in additional controllers, but we will not be doing this here. Hit cn_A to move on as just yourself, and head into the next menu. Select "custom match", and set up the game as follows:

  • Game Mode: Co-Op
  • Players: 2 players
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Grid Size: 6x6

Invite your friend, and play 25 games. You are both helping each other in this mode, so the game's will go super fast being on easy. When you are on xbox live, helpers such as "autopencil" and "show errors" are turned off. While this will make the game a little harder, it will help you with another achievement. After you have finished these 25 games, you will have won the following group of achievements:

Natural

Solve 10 puzzles with autopencil and show errors off.

Next, you will want to play and win a competitive game against your boosting partner. Team battle gives you both the same grid, and you win by solving it before the other player(s). Load up the following settings:

  • Game Mode: Team Battle
  • Players: 2 players
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Grid Size: 6x6

For the next, and last, multiplayer game, you will play another competitive game called "duel". In duel, the better you do, you start to hobble your opponents grid. Play and win 1 game under the following settings, and then you will unlock the following achievement as well:

  • Game Mode: Duel
  • Players: 2 players
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Grid Size: 6x6

END GAME BOOSTING

For the next 3 achievements, you can check your progress in the game's leaderboards. These pages will show your stats. You will need to play a grand total of 200 games and earn 10,000,000 score. The fastest way to boost both games and score is to load up the following settings:

  • Game Type: casual
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Grid Size: 6x6
  • Advanced Settings: Off

Just keep completing puzzles as fast as you can with "autopencil" and "show errors" on. Each puzzle will take you around 40 seconds to complete, and you will be earning between 25,000 to 30,000 points per level. These achievements are cumulative, so every game you have played so far and every point you have earned so far will count towards this. The end of this game is a bit of a grind, but you will get in a rhythm and start knocking these out in no time.
