Rare Replay

Main logo

Welcome to the walkthrough for Rare Replay!

Rare Replay is divided up into 30 individual games, 21 of them internally and 9 of them external XBLA games.

For the first 16 games (Jetpac - Battletoads Arcade) you will typically have to complete the main game, and do 5 snapshots. These are just small challenges derived from the main game. Many of these games are made much easier by using Rare Replay's cheats, and the ever useful rewind feature.

The next 5 games (Killer Instinct Gold - Grabbed By The Ghoulies) are from the Nintendo 64 and original Xbox era, these games do not have snapshots to deal with. Unfortunately they also do not have Rare Replay cheats, although a couple of them do have internal cheats to make things much easier!

The 9 external games all run on the Xbox One's backwards compatibility feature. If you haven't already done these games in the past they will definitely take a chunk of your time to complete, fortunately you only have to achieve either 150/200 or 750/1000 gamerscore in each if you're looking to get the final Rare Replay achievement.

Along with 6 snapshot playlists that consist of the snapshots for the first 16 games, long story short this is going to take you a while!

We have split up the walkthrough in the order the games were released, as this is the standard order Rare Replay orders them for you.There isn't much advice I can offer you here, as each game has its own unique walkthrough, other than try to stay on a game until you're done with it. Some games have almost exact opposite controls to others, so switching between them can be an extra challenge you don't need to deal with!

Otherwise, good luck! Please help us out and point out any mistakes, errors or suggestions in the following thread: Rare Replay Walkthrough Discussion. Priority has been put on getting the guide out there for you to read, so I can guarantee there will be spelling and grammar mistakes (Especially as I often did this late at night!).

As nobody cares about the credits, I've put them in a spoiler for you.

Enter the Game Gallery and highlight Jetpac. Scroll over to and enter the Options menu. Switch to the Game Options screen, and, under the Cheats menu, switch Infinite Lives on. This will not void any achievements. Start the game by selecting “Play”, and you will unlock:

1 guideOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.Main Storyline - These achievements are gained automatically by progressing through the main game modes.

Jetpac is a pretty straight-forward game. First, you will be required to assemble your rocket, and then you will be required to fill it with fuel so you can blast off to the next level. Your first ship will last for 4 levels, and then you will have to construct another. There are four ships to construct in total before the game repeats itself. cn_left, cn_up, and cn_right control your jetpac while cn_A fires your weapon. To pick up fuel canisters and ship parts, simply fly into them. To add them to your ship, simply fly over the ship itself.

Each level will look exactly the same. The ship will be in the bottom-right, and you’ll have three platforms above. For the majority of the levels, standing on the central platform is the easiest way to proceed, though some enemies (such as the flying saucers) will require you to be constantly moving to avoid them.

You can both shoot and walk off the side of the screen – reappearing on the other side. This can be very useful while shooting as you can effectively deny most enemies access to the upper section. Anyway, to get the second of the Jetpac achievements, you must full construct all 4 ships and complete 16 levels. If you are using Infinite Lives, this will be no problem at all. If you’re doing it legitimately, you’re in for a very, very tough time.

During the levels, gems, gold bars and other valuables will drop from the ceiling. Picking these up gives you a decent amount of points, though nothing spectacular.

Once you have cycled through all four ships and back to the first (you may need to pause the game to trigger it), you will unlock:

Rising Star

Jetpac: Blast off from every single level over time.

Now it’s time to move on to the Snapshots. Note: there are no cheats available for Snapshots. There are five Snapshots in total. The first requires you to destroy 10 bubble enemies in 30 seconds without dying. Complete this Snapshot to unlock:

Unphased

Complete a Jetpac snapshot.

Unphased
1 guideOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.

The second Snapshot requires you to collect and deliver 3 fuel canisters as quickly as possible without dying.

The third Snapshot requires you to assemble your rocket ship. Fill it with fuel and blast off within 60 seconds – and without dying.

The fourth Snapshot requires you to complete 5 full wraparounds (fly out one side of the screen, fly all the way across the screen and back out the same side again) without dying. The best way to do this is to zigzag up and down while flying on one direction – continuously firing your laser.

The fifth Snapshot requires you to fuel your rocket ship and blast off without being able to use your gun – and without dying. The easiest way to complete this is to stay on the ground as much as possible. It’s much easier to avoid the enemies along the floor as their bounces are more predictable. The only danger here is when some of them decide to fly straight along the floor. Either way, this is the most difficult of the Snapshots and can be very frustrating.

There is no easy way to complete this one. It’s just simply a matter of repetition and hoping for a bit of luck. Once you have successfully completed all 5 Snapshots, you will unlock:

They Came From Outer Space

Jetpac: Complete all of the Jetpac snapshots.

The Cheat Menu for this game offers both Infinite Time and Infinite Lives, so make sure to turn them on before starting the game. Start the game, and you’ll unlock:

To complete this game, you’re pretty much going to have to make liberal use of the Rewind feature (hold cn_LT). The object of the game is to blow up alien bases using the bombs you are given. The simplest method is to pick the bomb up (cn_B) and place it in the back of the truck. Get in the truck (cn_Y) and drive forwards until you reach the alien base.

Along the way, there will be holes in the floor which stop the truck from moving forwards. To bypass these, grab a platform from the truck by pressing cn_B and place the platform in the hole. You can then get back in the truck and continue on. You can also shoot your gun with cn_A. Stay in your truck as much as possible, and only get out when it’s safe.

While you are in the truck, you are invulnerable to anything outside it. The alien base looks like a white silo with yellow missiles rotating on top of it. Once you get near, get out of the truck, pick up the bomb, and drop it on top of the base. With the base destroyed, another bomb will spawn behind the truck.

Each time you blow up an alien base, you start a new level. Round about level 4, an enemy turns up that basically stays above you and sweeps up and down the screen. This guy is very frustrating, so keep your finger ready to Rewind. If you destroy it, you only get a few seconds of peace before the next one turns up. It’s lucky we have Infinite Time on, or this would be pretty damn difficult...

Around about level 5, you’ll unlock:

Unbridled Curiosity

Lunar Jetman: Over time, travel 250 Moon Units in the Hyperglide Moon Rover.

Once you get to level 6, you’re basically playing the last 5 levels again. As such, all the platforms you’ve placed previously will still be there for you now. This makes the next 5 levels that little bit easier. It won’t get any more fun, though.

Once you reach level 10, wait about 10 seconds, and you will unlock:

Space Cowboy

Lunar Jetman: Reach Level 10.

Now all you need to do is get out of your truck and continue shooting everything on screen. If you want to make it really easy, keep driving until you find a cannon on the floor (you’ll have past one a couple of times – there’s one before the very first base if you start a new game), mount it to your truck, and fire at enemies from inside.

Once you defeat 500 enemies (doesn’t need to be in one go), you will unlock:

We Were The Invaders

And now it’s time to move on to the Snapshots. The first Snapshot requires you to score 3000 points in 60 seconds without leaving your truck. Once you’ve completed this, you will unlock:

The Shoulder of Orion

Complete a Lunar Jetman snapshot.

The Shoulder of Orion
1 guideOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.

The second Snapshot requires you to travel 15m in your truck by plugging the holes in the floor. There are no enemies in this Snapshot, so it’s incredibly simple.

The third Snapshot requires you to catch up with and shoot down the missile fired from the alien base. Again, this is simple. Just fly along behind the missile continuously shooting it. It should take about 25 seconds of constant shooting to destroy it.

The fourth Snapshot requires you to destroy the alien base and then quickly fly back to your truck without dying. Once you start, quickly grab your truck, and park it to the right of the transporter. Press cn_Y to use the teleporter and grab the bomb. Now fly to the left to find the alien base. Blow it up, and continue left to return to your truck.

The fifth Snapshot requires you to score 10,000 points in 120 seconds. There’s no easy way to do this. Just stay by your truck to refuel when you can and fly around shooting everything you can - alternatively, there's an alien base nearby that's worth a large percentage of your needed points and a turret you can place on your truck, but this is obviously just as dangerous. Once you complete this, you will unlock:

Over the Moon

Complete all of the Lunar Jetman snapshots.

Atic Atac

Image 1

The cheat menu for this game has infinite lives. Turn this on as it will help, a lot. Atic Atac is a classic dungeon crawler. You need to explore the castle you are in to find the three parts of the golden key (which are randomly placed in the castle) that opens the door for you to escape. However, you can only carry three items at once, so there will be a lot of back and forth. Every time you get a section of key, you will need to return to the starting room and drop it off before going back and looking for the other pieces.

There are also a number of coloured doors that require a matching key to unlock. It’s worth noting that the regular doors are not under your control – they open and close randomly, meaning you must survive in the room until the door you want to open actually opens.

The castle is also littered with other items that you can use in one way or another – though some of these items do nothing. Either way, make sure to pick up every item you find (a lot of their positions are random) and dropping them again as there is an achievement for doing so.

You will also need to complete the game with all three characters (Knight, Wizard and Serf). They have small differences, but the only one that matters is that they each have access to different secret passages throughout the dungeon.

As you explore, your health will constantly drop (it will also drop if you are hit by an enemy). This is displayed as a roast chicken that rots as you lose health. To regain health, there is food spread around the castle as well. With infinite lives on, this isn’t so much of a problem as you simply respawn in the room that you died in.

There are four major enemies in the game that can only be killed or distracted using certain items:

  • Dracula can be distracted using a yellow crucifix
  • Frankenstein’s Monster can be killed with a blue spanner
  • The Mummy can be distracted with a red leaf
  • The Hunchback can be distracted with a green claw

With that, start the game to unlock:

Because so many of the items are randomly placed, there is no way to easily guide you through this game. I can, however, give you a map for every floor of the castle. Here is the key:

The maps, doors, shortcut, holes, and yellow key positions remain the same in each game. The only other thing that remains the same is that the red key is always guarded by the Mummy, but the location changes.

You always spawn right in front of the exit. In order to unlock all of the achievements for this game, you are required to pick up every single item at least once – to do this, you’re pretty much going to have to explore every room. Your best bet is to save or print a copy of each map above and cross off each room as you explore it. Whenever you find a piece of the main key, return to the first room and drop the piece off before you continue exploring.

Here is a list of all the items and major enemies in the game and what they look like:

Once you’ve completed it, you will unlock:

The second Snapshot simply requires you to exit the Caverns as quickly as possible. This is made easier by being invulnerable. There also appears to be no way to fail this...

The third Snapshot requires you to visit every room in the basement as quickly as possible, without dying. Here’s the map of the Basement again:

Image 1

You start off in the Yellow Key room, and all four keys are in there with you. It’s possible to visit every room without using the blue key – but you will need to use the Knight’s secret passage in the top right room to reach the final room. This is the simplest way out:

  1. Grab the yellow, green and red keys
  2. Leave through the bottom left
  3. Go left
  4. Go down
  5. Go left
  6. Go right
  7. Go right

  21. Go right
  22. Go down
  23. Go right
  24. Go up
  25. Go up
  26. Go left through the Knight’s secret passage

The fourth Snapshot requires you to kill 10 monsters without dying or leaving the room. If you leave the room, your score will reset. To make it harder, there is a Devil in the room with you, along with a poisonous mushroom. Your best bet is to circle continuously around the edges, constantly throwing axes until you’re done.

The fifth Snapshot requires you to leave the castle without dying. You already have the key assembled, but you have no weapon available. It’s a lot easier than it sounds as there’s plenty of food around to recover your health. You can do this without needing to pick up any coloured keys.

You start in the attic:

  1. Go right
  2. Go right
  3. Go up
  4. Go up
  5. Drop through the hole
  6. Go left
  7. Go up
  8. Drop down the hole
  9. Go right
  10. Go right
  11. Go right
  12. Go up
  13. Exit

Once you complete this, you will unlock:

Sabre Wulf

Image 1

Again, the cheat menu for this game has Infinite Lives. Make sure to turn them on for a much easier time. In Sabre Wulf, you are exploring a large jungle filled with dangerous animals and natives. Your goal is to find all four pieces of the Wulf amulet, then use this amulet to safely get past the Maze Keeper and exit the Jungle.

The amulet pieces are randomly placed around the map and can be found in any of the clearings dotted around the jungle. In order to complete the game, I will take you through every single clearing to make sure you collect all the pieces (you can find several versions of the map on the internet, but I can’t link to them as I do not have the necessary permissions – and it’s just too big to recreate here).

There are also five huts and a number of different flowers spread around the map that you will need to find. The huts are always in the same place, but the flowers can spawn in different places. There are five flower colours in total: Blue, Orange, Red, White, and Yellow.

The majority of animals can be killed, but the larger animals such as rhinos and hippos can only be scared away. The Keeper and the Wulf, on the other hand, should be avoided at all costs. The Wulf is invincible, and the Keeper can only be passed when you have the full amulet.

Note: If you stay on one screen for too long, the whole screen will catch fire, forcing you to move on.

Head upwards and then take the path to the left. Follow this around until the path splits into two. Take the upper path, and it’ll lead to the first clearing. Backtrack to the split and this time take the lower path.

Follow the path until it splits again and head upwards. Follow this path to another clearing. Backtrack again and this time take the path leading downwards. Follow the path down and to the left. You’ll come to an area with 6 exits. Take the exit at the bottom of the screen to find another clearing.

Leave the clearing and take the lower left exit. Follow this upwards and take the first left you come to. Follow this path all along (it splits in a few places but always joins up again) until you’re at the edge of the jungle and can see the mountains below you.

Head left and take the first path upwards to find a clearing. Head back down and continue left. Take the next path up to find the first hut and continue upwards for another clearing. Head back down to the bottom path and start walking to the right.

Count the paths upwards and head up the fifth path. Follow this path upwards (do not take the first left when you get to it – continue upwards) until you get to another area with 6 exits. First, take the lower exit to find a clearing, then take the upper-right exit for another clearing.

Head back down and then retrace your steps along the bottom-right path until you reach the mountain path again. Continue right and take the next path upwards. Follow either of the two paths here and continue upwards until you reach an area with 6 exits.

First, take the upper exit to find another clearing, then take the bottom-right exit to leave. Take the next path leading downwards and then the next left immediately after it. Follow this down to a lake. Head back up and take the first right. Next follow the path all the way down until you reach the mountains. Follow this path all the way to the left – it’s quite a journey.

Take the first upward path you get to and continue upwards until you reach a lake. Take the bottom-right exit and then head down to find another clearing. Head back up, continue along the bottom-right path and take the next path downwards. Here you’ll find your second hut. Continue downwards for another clearing, then head all the way up until you can only turn right.

Continue to the right and head upwards to reach another area with 6 exits. First take the bottom-right path to find a clearing. Secondly, take the upper-right path for another clearing. Thirdly, take the bottom-left path for a third clearing. Finally, head straight upwards to find a fourth clearing.

Leave the clearing and take the first path on the upper left (in the area with 5 exits, not 6, directly below the clearing). Continue left and you’ll find another area with 6 exits. Take the lower-left path and then head downwards to find your third hut.

Head up and take the path in the upper-left. When you reach the lake, continue upwards past two more lakes. Turn right at that third lake and head upwards to find a fourth lake. Now head back down to the first of these four lakes.

Take the bottom-right path under the lake. Follow this around to another area with 6 exits. Take the exit leading downwards to find a clearing. Leave the clearing and continue up through the top exit. Follow the path to the right then all the way up for another clearing.

Backtrack downwards and take the first left you come to (which will lead above the path you arrived from just now). This leads to another clearing. Head back and retrace your steps along the lower path to the area with 6 exits.

This time take the upper-left exit to find your fourth hut. Keep going upwards. There is only one path to follow here (where it splits, it rejoins again). Keep going up and you’ll soon have a long walk to the left, with the mountains above you.

Once you reach the mountains on the left, head up and then to the right. Take the first path leading downwards that you get to. Keep going down to find another area with 6 exits. Take the downwards path to find your fifth and final hut. This will unlock:

Head down once more for another clearing. Now head all the way back up until you reach the mountains again and continue to the right. Take the next path downwards. Keep going down until your only option is to go right. Head right and then head upwards.

Take the first right you come to and follow this around to another area with 6 exits. Take the upper-left exit to find a clearing with a lake in it. Head back to the area with 6 exits and take the upper-right path. Continue to the right, through the other area with 6 exits, until your only options are up and down.

First head up into a clearing, then head down into another clearing. Leave the clearing and head to the left. In this area with 6 exits, head upwards to find a lake, then head downwards to find another lake. Return to the area with 6 exits and take the lower-left path.

Take the next path downwards to find another lake. Continue following this path downwards and, although it twists, turns and splits a lot, it all leads to the same place. You’ll eventually (a large number of screens later) come to another lake. Take the exit upwards here for a clearing.

Leave the clearing and head left above the lake. Continue past the cave entrance and head up when you can. Take the lower-right exit in the next area with 6 exits and then head downwards into the cave on the next screen.

Leave the cave and head straight up. Turn right to find another area with 6 exits and take the upper-left path. Follow this all the way up to another clearing. Backtrack to the area with 6 exits and take the upwards path to another clearing.

Leave the clearing and head straight downwards until you come to a rock wall. Head to the right and then down into the second cave. Leave the cave and head straight upwards. Follow the path to another clearing.

This is the final clearing in the game, and you should have all four amulet pieces by now, unlocking:

The third Snapshot requires you to collect three different flowers from three different locations as quickly as possible. The first flower will spawn ahead of you. Head upwards and both of the next two screens also have flower spawns. This can also be as quick as 10 seconds to complete.

The fourth Snapshot requires you to pass through ten different screens without dying. This is mostly luck-based as it depends on what spawns for you. Make use of blue and red flowers whenever you can.

The fifth Snapshot requires that you run for the exit without losing all of your lives. You start in a clearing. Follow the path all the way downwards, through the twists and turns, until you get to an area with 6 exits. Take the lower-left exit and head all the way to the left.

The path will head downwards now, go through the next area and straight down again. Once you get to the bottom, head all the way to the right to find the cave with the exit in it. Completing this will unlock:

Before we start – this is a terrible game. The controls are horrible, the movement is horrible, and the mechanics are horrible. With that said...

The Cheat menu is yet again our friend. We’re going to have to do two saves for this game – for the first save, set both Infinite Lives and No Enemies to on. The object of the game is to slaughter the Underwurlde Guardians (the Devil, a Demon and a Beetle) before making your escape. There are three exits at the top of the map, and it doesn’t matter which you use.

The three Guardians require specific weapons to kill them. The Devil can only be killed with the Fire Torch, the Demon can only be killed with the Bow, and the Beetle can only be killed with the Dagger. Here’s the catch – the weapon positions are randomised. Luckily, they’re not too randomized, and each weapon has four rooms it can appear in.

So, for your first save, the aim is to get the three weapons you need to kill the Guardians and then make your escape. The second save will be to get to the very bottom of the Underwurlde before farming enemy kills for the milestone. You can try to play with the enemies on if you like, but it’s ridiculously frustrating to do so.

There are a number of enemies in the game, but they are not inherently deadly. Instead, they will attempt to knock you off platforms, nudge you off ropes, and otherwise find interesting ways to make you fall to your death. There’s so many of them that this will be happening continuously if you don’t turn them off in the Cheat Menu.

The enemy you need to look out for the most is the eagle, as it will pick you up, fly high and then drop you. You can survive quite a decent-size fall, but it’s possible to drop several screens before hitting the floor when an eagle drops you, and this obviously won’t end well. In the very first room you’ll find a catapult – this is the weapon you’ll be using on the regular enemies (such as the eagle).

Here is a map with the locations of the start position, exits, Guardians, and possible Weapon spawns (click to enlarge):

The fourth Snapshot requires you to ascend downwards and then climb back up the next side. Take the rope downwards to the bottom, head to the right, and then ride the bubbles back up the other side. Once you jump to the ledge on the right, you will complete the Snapshot.

The fifth Snapshot requires you to reach the very bottom of the map without dying. This requires you to descend 20 levels. Collect as many gems as you can along the way as they provide temporary invincibility (they last 15 seconds each). The controls are so bad that this one will be particularly frustrating...

Sabreman has been bitten by, and turned into, a werewulf (that’s how Rare spell it...). He must explore the dungeon, gathering charms to create a magic potion to free him of the curse. This game has two very useful Cheats. Make sure to turn both Infinite Time and Infinite Lives on for your first save.

To start with, here is a map of the dungeon:

Knight Lore map update

Each room of the map is the same colour as it appears in-game to help you orientate yourself at the start. There are four potential starting positions, all of which are marked above. The cauldron is in the middle. Most of the rooms have enemies or obstacles of some kind – you can jump over spikes, jump under bouncing balls, run away from rolling balls, etc.

You will notice that some of the rooms have been numbered 1-8. These denote the possible distribution of the charms you will need.

Image 1

As an example, using the above as a guide, if you find a Crystal Ball in one of the rooms marked with a “1”, you will find Poison in one of the rooms marked with a “3”, a Boot in one of the rooms marked with a “6” etc etc etc

Note: The humanoid icon denotes an extra life.

The charms are always requested in a specific order:

Image 1

The order always goes clockwise - so if the first charm the Cauldron wants is a Crystal Ball, the next charm will either be a Goblet or Poison. If the first two charms are the Crystal Ball and Poison, the next charms after that will be the Boot and the Cup, for example. You will need to collect all 14 of the charms on the wheel to break the curse.

So the first thing you need to when loading up a game is to find a room with an charm in, and then work out which of the 8 charts above you need to use in the dungeon. Once you have the correct chart, go to the Cauldron and find out which charm is needed.

You will also notice a moon/sun chart in the bottom right when you’re playing the game. Every time this changes to a moon, Sabreman will become a werewulf. It is important not to be in the cauldron room as a werewulf as the cauldron itself will attack you.

To get to some charms, you’ll have to use tables and even other charms to form steps and platforms. In order to drop a charm into the Cauldron, you must stand on top of the cauldron first. With all of that in mind, start a new game to unlock:

Now it’s time for the Snapshots. The first snapshot requires you to visit 6 rooms in the dungeon within a minute and a half. The easiest way is to visit the left, right and upper rooms from the room you start in, then head downwards for three easy rooms. Doing so will unlock:

The second Snapshot requires you to leave the room before the sun rises and you change back to human. It’s a very easy one. Simply jump on top of the ball/platform in the bottom right corner and then stand on the upper-left of it. As a werewulf, the ball will always try and run into you so it’s easy to guide it to the door just by positioning yourself correctly.

The third Snapshot requires you to collect all three gems within 60 seconds. First, enter the left room and climb the platforms to get the gem. Use the gem as a platform to reach the gem in the first room. Next head downwards – the gem will be on top of a ghost. Simply leave the room and come back in for the gem to drop to the floor.

The fourth Snapshot requires you to grab the chalice and drop it in the Cauldron – all within 5 minutes. You start in the room with the chalice, so this is nice and easy. You can easily jump up the platform at the top of the screen. To make it across to the platform on the right, you basically have to jump as the last second before you fall, then do the same to reach the chalice. The timing isn’t easy, but you’ll get it. The next room can be easily navigated by simply jumping continuously. The room after that contains the Cauldron.

The fifth Snapshot requires you to make it to the room on the other side of the spike room – either by going through it, or by going the long way around. The spike room is exceptionally hard – I’d suggest going around. It’s still not easy, but it’s a lot easier. Once you’ve made it around, you’ll unlock:

Gunfright sees you play the role of a Sheriff trying to clear the town of 20 bandits. It is broken up into two distinct play-styles. The first is an isometric exploration view where you attempt to hunt down the bounty. The second is an early form of ‘FPS’ where you have to take aim and quickly kill the bandits before they kill you. The Rewind feature cn_LT makes this a doddle.

You will get an early tutorial on how the ‘FPS’ works in the form of shooting money bags that fall past the screen. You need as much money as you can get because you need to buy your bullets, pay fines, and buy a horse (bullets are bought automatically when you run out). The bounties you collect will be worth a decent amount.

Buying a horse will significantly speed you up and makes it much easier to catch some bandits (some of whom are on horses themselves). Get on a horse whenever you can as there’s an achievement for spending a certain amount of time on horseback.

Here is a map of the town:

2 guidesOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.Main Storyline - These achievements are gained automatically by progressing through the main game modes.

Now you need to start exploring the town to find your first target: Buffalo Bill. Somewhere, placed randomly in town, will be horses. If you have enough money to buy it, walk over it to purchase, though it will only last a short time. The bandits are also randomly placed, though certain citizens will point in the direction you need to go.

You also, for some stupid reason, need to avoid walking into any civilians as both of you will immediately die. Makes sense, huh? You’ll also have to pay a fine for it. Also, dust bunnies are invincible and deadly...

Anyway, once you’ve located the bandit, shoot him to start the quick-draw mini-game. As soon as you move the cursor, it counts as you drawing your gun which will make the bandit dodge out of the way and shoot back. You have two strategies:

  1. Wait for them to draw first then try and shoot them before they shoot you
  2. Draw first and hope you hit them with your first shot

If you fail, simply rewind and try again. There are 20 bandits in all, and you must win a duel against all of them:

Image 1

Firstly, kill 19 of the 20 Bandits (the 19th Bandit is imaginatively called “Bandits”). Make sure to ride the horse as much as possible. If you haven’t unlocked it naturally yet, there is a horse right next to the spawn point (see map) that you can ride until it runs out – you can reset it by dying. Repeat this until you unlock:

The second Snapshot requires you to blow all of your money as quickly as possible. While on horseback, simply run around town running over as many damn civilians as you can. Serves them right for being so annoying during the game itself...

The third Snapshot requires you to kill Buffalo Bill without dying yourself. Follow the directions until you find him then simply shoot him to complete (you don’t even have to duel). Remember to shoot any civilians that get in your way.

The fourth Snapshot requires you to find your horse without firing any bullets. For this Snapshot, the map is reversed:

Image 1

Luckily, one of the horses is really nearby. Leave the room, head left, go up straight through the first building to the left, and continue left to find Panto.

The fifth Snapshot requires you to gather $500 in 120 seconds. There are money bags randomly lying around town. You need to find one and fire your bullet so you get a refill. Once you’ve done this, head to the large building near the centre of the map as Klondike Pete can almost always be found in the lower room:

Warning: This is not a good game. It’s hard, it’s annoying, and it’s unfair. Accept that and you’ll maybe not get as mind-blowingly frustrated as you would otherwise.

Slalom is a pretty straight-forward skiing game. To increase and retain your speed, you need to ski in between the flags while avoiding obstacles like trees and other skiers. There are also a number of ramps that allow you to perform tricks for freestyle points, but jumping slows you down even if you land the trick correctly. It’s best to avoid them when going for the course completions. If you do happen to hit a jump, quickly tap cn_down to perform a trick for a freestyle point.

You will need to collect 200 freestyle points, but they’re easy to grind out later. Firstly, you need to get 500 fast time points – whenever you finish a course, any remaining time will be converted into fast time points. That’s pretty much all you need to know about this game – remember to use cn_LT to rewind when you need to – there are no other cheats in this game.

Make sure you create a manual save when you complete every single run – if you fail to meet the time, you have to start the entire course, not just the current run, from the beginning.

Once you start the game, you’ll unlock:

Press cn_start to bring up the course select screen. Start with Snowy Hill, and you’ll be put into the Qualifying run. Hold cn_up to increase your speed and use cn_left and cn_right to steer – this game was really not made for a control stick. On the later levels, you’ll pretty much need to hold cn_up as much as possible. You need to complete the Qualifying run in under 1:25 to complete the level.

Once you complete the Qualifying run, it will automatically load the next level. Check the timer in the top right for your time to beat and go for it – remember to use Rewind to recover from any mistakes (and remember to manually save after each successful run – if you forget, try the autosave and hope for the best).

During this first course, a couple of runs in (about run 4), you will unlock:

Easy: Snowy Hill

Hard: Mt. Nasty

As long as you exit once you’ve completed 9 runs and then started the next course from the start, you should have no problems. Once you’ve completed all 27 runs, you’ll unlock:

Now it’s time to knock out the two final achievements. In order to do this nice and easily you can replay the Snowy Hill qualifying run over and over. Once you’ve gathered 100 freestyle points (you get one point for pressing cn_down while in the air), you’ll unlock:

Again, just run the Snowy Hill qualifying over and over, finishing as quickly as possible. For every run you finish before the target time, you’ll gain one fast time point per second (note: there’s a bug if you finish with over 1 minute remaining – it will only ever count the seconds. I.e. 1:15 becomes 0:15 for 15 speed points). You should be able to get around 30 fast time points per run. Once you collect 500 fast time points, you will unlock:

1 guideOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.

The second snapshot requires you to complete the run with at least 25 freestyle points. You can usually get a couple of freestyle points from each jump if you time it carefully – and you have no rivals to worry about. You also don’t have to hold cn_up to finish this one in time, which makes it much easier to aim for the jumps.

The third snapshot can be annoying. You need to keep you speed above 100km/h by weaving your way through each of the gates. You don’t need to hold cn_up to maintain the required speed, which makes it slightly easier. As long as you don’t crash or miss a gate, you’ll complete it. You might even get away with missing a gate here or there. If you do hold cn_up, you can get away with missing quite a few. Once you’re past the first 10 gates, the rest is easy.

The fourth snapshot requires that you finish the run with an average speed of over 100km/h. For this, you’re going to need to hold cn_up as much as possible to make up for the gates you will undoubtedly miss. Throughout this, your average speed will be displayed instead of your current speed. This is actually a lot easier than you’d expect as you can even complete it with a couple of wipeouts.

The fifth snapshot requires you to finish the run without falling more than twice. This isn’t easy as there’s obstacles everywhere. Take it slow and careful – it doesn’t matter what time you finish in, as long as you finish. Personally, I recommend going as quickly as possible as it seems much easier to dodge the tobogganers at high speed. Once you complete it, you’ll unlock:

This is one of the classic old-school racers in my opinion. It paved the way for games like Rock ‘N’ Roll Racing, so it will always have a special place for me. Unfortunately, the game cheats. The rival cars go faster than you, and they will almost always catch up with you. I explain how to maximise your chances below.

Rewind is the only cheat available, but that should be more than enough. This is another game where you should be creating a manual save at the start of each race so you can reload if you don't finish top 3. If you do lose, you can continue where you left off from the start screen, but saving is easier and quicker.

Start a new game, and you’ll unlock:

Your first port of call is to complete every course. You need to finish at least 3rd in every single race in order to progress to the next course. Now, while it doesn’t matter if you finish first, it is important to pick up as many upgrades as you can each race.

The upgrades you collect are permanently added to your vehicle – your current upgrade level is shown between races.

While you’re driving around, look out for shining objects appearing on the track – there will award you with letters. If you manage to collect the letters “CHAMPION”, you will be given a permanently upgraded car, making everything a little bit easier. There is usually one letter per race.

If you collect every upgrade and letter per race, you’ll have a much easier time of finishing the game – so make sure to rewind if you drive past one and collect it. Even if you don’t need one, collect it so your rivals can’t get it. If you fail to collect these as you go along, you’ll find the later races impossible.

In the later levels you will also see a Skull icon on the road – avoid these as they remove missiles and bombs from your inventory.

When you get to level 21, I advise keeping a separate save as this seems by far the easiest of the courses to finish first in, since the AI can’t seem to handle the combination of booster pads and oil slicks.

Once you’ve completed each of the 24 courses, you’ll unlock:

Now for the wins. The best way is to make a save when you’re in first place, just before crossing the line. That way, you can just reload the save and cross the line each time for another 1st place finish. Once you have 25, you’ll unlock:

With that, let’s get started on the Snapshots. The first snapshot requires you to collect all 28 stars from the track before the race ends. There is no Rewind to help you now so this may be a little more difficult than you expect if you’re trying to do it properly. Luckily, there are 4 laps, and you don’t personally need to finish, so just take it slowly and collect each one as you get to them. Once you’ve collected all, you’ll unlock:

3 guidesOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.

The second snapshot requires you to score 2500 points in 60 seconds. This is a very simple one to get. You start off with 3 missiles so let your opponents overtake you then shoot each one. From then it’s just a matter of collecting items dotted around the track and trying to win – you get points each time you cross the line.

The third snapshot requires you to win a 5-lap race with an average speed of more than 85mph. Your average speed will be shown on the screen so it’s just a matter of hitting every boost you can and not crashing. It’s a bit tricky, but it’s doable. The only real obstacle is the oil patch on the final corner, so keep an eye out for it.

The fourth snapshot requires you to successfully shoot your opponents with missiles 5 times and then finish the race in 1st. You start off with three missiles, and all of the missile pickups are on the very left and right of the final straight. Allow your rivals to take off ahead of you to get a few easy hits in before going for the win.

The fifth snapshot is obviously annoyingly frustrating. You start off one lap down and need to finish the race in first place. This means you need to overtake each car twice within the 9 laps. Luckily, you have by far the fastest car and there are no obstacles on the track. As long as you race clean, you have a good chance of making it. There is also a letter on the track very early on which will upgrade your car, making it even easier – if you miss this on your first lap, just restart and try again.

This is basically down to a lot of practice and learning the track. Save your bombs for the green car to give yourself a couple of extra seconds. When you manage it, you’ll unlock:

Cobra Triangle is a bizarre combination of object-based gameplay, racing and combat. The objects can include bomb disposal and rescuing swimmers, all whilst being attacked by enemies. Oh, and you’re in a speedboat...

There’s nothing too difficult in this game. Turn on Infinite Lives in the Cheat Menu so you never die and make liberal use of the Rewind feature when needed and it’ll be complete in no time. Start the game to unlock:

Getting Your Sea Legs

Cobra Triangle: Play the game for the first time.

Getting Your Sea Legs
1 guideOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.Main Storyline - These achievements are gained automatically by progressing through the main game modes.

The first thing we need to do is finish all of the game’s levels, of which there are 25 in total. Make sure to hold cn_left whenever you cross a finish line in the game as this will perform a post-challenge spin. We need 50 of those in total so we may as well knock a few of them out as we progress. Also try and collect as many power-ups as you can – as well as making the game easier, there’s also an achievement for it.

The way the upgrades work is weird. Every time you pick up a pod it cycles through the four options (fire, speed, missile and force). When the one you want is flashing, hit cn_X to level it up. Upgrade the turbo first and then concentrate on maxing out your speed first as it’s the only way to finish some races. Don’t waste any on force as it only gives you temporary invincibility.

The best Fire upgrade is the shotgun (forwards spread of bullets). The best missiles are the fully upgraded ones.

Note: The order of levels you get depends on which directions you take when the river forks. There is no wrong direction to take. These are the types of stages you will encounter:

  • Races simply involve getting to the end of the course within the time limit. Some races are against a current, where you will need to avoid obstacles as you go.
  • Pod collections are like bonus stages – you just need to collect what you can in the time limit
  • Mine Disposal involves moving mines from a red square to a green square while another boat tries to stop you. Best to collect the mines at full speed while facing the direction you need to go. Rewind is your friend whenever a bomb is stolen from you.
  • Target shooting just requires you to shoot as many targets as you can before the end of the stage.
  • Protecting swimmers requires you to stop enemy ships from stealing the swimmers out of your square. You can steal them back from other boats by destroying the boats then collecting the swimmers – you only need one to complete the stage. Best bet is to pick one swimmer and shoot any boat that comes near it.
  • Waterfall jumping just requires you to hit each ramp as you go along – Rewind is your friend here.
  • Boss stages require you to kill the boss within the time limit (see below for details)

Bosses:

  • Sea monster – shoot at the base of its neck
  • Crab – head around the back to the top right corner and shoot it in the face from behind
  • Octopus – shoot it in the face
  • Red Sea monster – drive to the top left corner and wait for the timer to run out
  • Shark – shoot it in the teeth when it comes out of the water and try to avoid being swallowed. If it swims left, you go right so you should be ahead of it when it comes up. You can only hurt it by shooting directly from the front.

Once you’ve completed all 25 levels and the credits roll you will unlock:

The second snapshot requires you to score 5000 points by shooting targets. Make sure to shoot the missile upgrades as they appear at the side of the river for easy score. Once you cross the finish line, hold cn_left to rack up a few more thousand points with a spin.

The third snapshot requires you to grab 5 pods in 30 seconds. The pods always seem to be a little more to the left compared to what is shown – turning your boat makes you more likely to collect them, but you need to recover when you land to keep going.

The fourth snapshot requires you to stay alive for 30 seconds while the octopus (they say it’s a squid, but it clearly has 8 tentacles...) tries to kill you – if it grabs you with its tentacles even once, you will fail. Your best bet is to drive up and down the left side of the screen. Just wait in one corner for the tentacles to spawn then quickly speed to the other and wait.

The fifth snapshot requires you to save one swimmer for 45 seconds. This one is tough. Try and shoot the UFOs as soon as they appear or they will freeze you – and you may not recover in time to save your swimmer. I found the best way was to literally stay in the starting spot and fire at the swimmer. This will easily destroy all of the boats and it only takes a couple of lucky UFO spawns to complete it. Once you’re done, you’ll unlock:

The premise of Snake Rattle N Roll is pretty simply. You control one of the two snakes (Rattle and Roll) and you need to exit each level. However, the exit for each level is weight-activated, so you need to eat enough enemies on your way through the level to be heavy enough to open the way out.

The colour of what you eat has a direct impact on your snake’s size. Rattle (the red snake) gets heavier quicker by eating red things, while Roll (the blue snake) gets heavier quicker by eating blue things. The fastest way to gain weight for both snakes is to eat yellow things. When your snake is heavy enough to exit the level, their tail will begin to flash.

The game is usually timed, but you can turn this off in the cheat menu. You can also activate infinite lives. You should also make liberal use of the Rewind feature to undo mistakes (such as losing tail segments).

Start the game and you’ll unlock:

Level 1

It will take a while to get used to the game’s controls as the movement isn’t really represented by which direction you press. It can be very confusing at first, but luckily infinite time and the rewind feature give you plenty of time to get used to it.

Ahead of you will be an enemy and two manholes. You’ll also see a flashing “Y”, which is a tongue extension (which you can use to both eat items and lick enemies to death). Kill the enemy and open the manholes (stand on them and hit cn_A to release items to eat. Use your tongue (cn_A when not on a manhole) to eat them.

Jump across the waterfall and you’ll see something that looks like a double-gramophone – this spits out items for you to eat, but also bombs to kill you. You can easily farm this area until your tail begins to flash. Open the manholes here for more items as well.

Go past the next enemy and another enemy will jump out of the next manhole (the manhole on the small island to the left contains a bonus level for a few extra points). Pass the foot enemy and continue on. You’ll see the exit door and the weight machine. Jump up to the weight machine to open the door and then head through it.

Level 2

From this point on I will not be pointing out the manholes unless there is something notable about them – you should still open all of them as you go. When you get to the two item dispensers, ignore the manhole on the upper level as it contains a toilet seat enemy.

Grab all the items you need and continue on. The manhole on its own island ahead is another bonus level. The manhole on the next island is a time bonus. Cross the waterfall and ignore the manhole in the corner as it has another foot enemy.

Climb up the waterfall (you can jump diagonally between the platforms) and stand on the weight machine. Climb further up the waterfall and head around to the right to exit the level.

Level 3

As soon as you start, the manhole you can see at the bottom of the screen will take you to a bonus level. Continue down to the left, killing the toilet seats. You’ll see a path head down at the bottom of the screen – head down here and you’ll see two pickups. The first reverses your controls so make sure to avoid that if you can.

Jump left to the next ledge and avoid the guillotines that pop out of the floor. The next area has item dispensers on it, so fill yourself up before continue. The second manhole contains an enemy. Drop down and the one manhole on the ledge on its own on the right is a bonus level.

Head around the ledge to the other side of the pool and you’ll see two weight machines. Jump over to the upper weight machine (the manhole in front of it contains an enemy) and then continue up the ledge to the exit.

Level 4

Work your way up the platforms (the third manhole contains a bomb) until you get to the item dispenser. All three manholes up here contain enemies so leave them be. Fill yourself at the item dispenser and then continue up and to the left (one of the jumps is longer than usual, but it’s still easily managed).

Once you’re up the top, head into the water and fall down the waterfall to the next ledge. Continue up the ledges (avoid the guillotines and the second manhole, which is a bomb) and you’ll get to a long jump across a spike. The manhole you land on is a bonus level.

After a couple more long jumps to the right you can jump to the solo ledge in front of the waterfall and then head left across the upper ledge to the weight machine – watch out for the falling anvils as you go. Once you’ve activated the weight machine, head back across the ledge and jump across the waterfall to the exit.

Level 5

This next level has magic carpets which you need to use to get around. Use the magic carpet to descend and then jump over the water. Cross the spikes on another carpet and jump down to an item dispenser. Grab all you need before using the carpet to ride downwards (remember to jump over the reverse powerup in front of the carpet).

Two of the manholes down here contain bombs, the other an extra life, so they can be ignored. Head across to the left on the carpet and make sure to avoid the reverse powerup when you jump to the ledge. The blue squares in the wall will push you off the ledge so make sure to jump over them.

Jump around the corner and then up to the line of manholes. Head up and around to the weight machine to open the door. Ride the carpet up and jump to the ledge. The next carpet is tricky as it disappears – when this happens, jump straight up into the air to land on it again when it reappears. Jump over the reverse powerup at the end and into the exit.

Level 6

Head left and jump from platform to platform. Jump over the bell enemy on the way (you can kill it by jumping on it repeatedly if you wish). The tongue extension is a tricky one to get, so it may just be easier to keep going. Look out for the blue squares that push you off as you continue.

Once you’re at the next bell, jump over it and then jump as far as you can across the waterfall. Start hammering cn_B as you land as this should just about let you swim to the next platform. This next bit is awkward as hell. There’s a bell blocking your way forward. If you jump very, very carefully you can land on the very right-hand corner of the ledge, which then allows you to jump over the bell. Repeat this to climb up.

Carefully jump over the water as there’s a square there ready to push you off. Jump over that as well then do another huge jump over the next section of water. Jump over the blue squares and you’re in front of a series of waterfalls. Jump for this height across to the left, which is slightly lower. You can then make your way across the waterfall platforms – be careful of the bells that fall as you go.

Once you’re on the top level, you need to wait for a powerup that looks like a fish tail (well, it’s meant to – it looks more like a segment of an orange). Once you see it, it allows you to jump up the waterfall to the left by hammering cn_B. Only go for it if the powerup lands on the top row.

Once you’re at the top head up to the ledge directly above the waterfall – from here you have to jump to the right and then continue downwards over the spikes. Get past the bell and the foot as you continue going down to the right – look out for the blue square half way down.

From the last ledge, jump as far as you can across the water and hammer it to the other side. Jump over some more water and you’ll see the exit on the side of the ledge beneath you – carefully drop down into it to exit.

Level 7

As you jump across to the right, be wary of the spikes that appear as you go. You basically need to repeat this back and forth until you reach the next area higher up. When you get to the platform in the upper left that has the gold spike on it, it genuinely seems that the only way to get past it is to take a hit and then jump through it while you have temporary invincibility (if anyone can work out how to get past this without being hit, please let me know).

When head to the right here you need to be very wary of fast-moving marbles. Stay in the air as much as possible and you should hopefully miss them. Once you reach the other side, head upwards and use the waterspouts to push you up each level.

After a few waterspouts the gold spikes start appearing, meaning your timing has to basically be perfect to continue up. The final waterspout is especially tricky. Time it right and it’ll launch you up to the right-most ledge. From there you need to time your jump over the foot and spike to the exit – there is no weight machine on this level.

Level 8

Jump straight into the water and you’ll sink to the bottom. Here you need to eat as many fish as possible before they disappear in order to open the exit. If you hit black fish repeatedly they turn into yellow ones. You must make your tail flash before you run out of fish in order to proceed.

Once you’re out, jump into the next pool and do the same – saving before each pool can speed things up, though it doesn’t matter if you’re using infinite lives. Continue doing this and you’ll eventually reach the exit (note: make a save before exiting this level so you can farm points later on for the score achievement without repeatedly playing the game).

Level 9

As you can imagine, there’s going to be a lot of sliding around here. Follow the path to the right and jump around the corner. Head up the slope, avoiding the enemy, and around the corner again. Climb up the slope and look out for snowballs that start falling down. The timing is awkward but you can jump them.

Jump up to the next are and slide down. Jump over the spikes and watch out for the snowballs that fall in this area. Around the corner from here is the weight machine – items will be falling out of the wall so eat them until you can activate the machine (the foot is indestructible).

Once you’ve set off the machine, jump up the ice slope on the right, avoid the bubble and watch out for the snowballs on the ramp leading downwards. Jump around the corner at the bottom and then continue jumping back up the slope.

Here you’ll have ball rolling back and forth on a very small ledge. You need to jump as far on the left of the ledge as possible and then immediately jump a second time. If you pause between jumps you will get hit. Once you’re past, jump up to the right and watch the snowball. Slide down the ledge and then jump to the right. Jump up this path and you’re at the exit.

Level 10

This level is incredibly difficult. Lots of rewinding is going to be needed. Head to the right and jump over the enemy. Here you need to drop down as close to the spike as you can without hitting it and then jump again around the corner. You can’t just jump straight down as the fall is too large. Repeat this a couple of times - jumping frequently seems to make it easier. The final row on the way down has a snowball so be careful.

On this larger ledge is another invincible foot and another load of items coming out of the wall. Again, fill up your snake before continuing on. Once you’re full, head to the right and slide down to the weight machine.

Head back up the ramp and past the foot to the left. Jump up to the ledge leading upwards and watch out for the spikes as you ascend. You now need to jump over the spikes and keep ascending upwards – the jumps are quite tricky so rewind when needed.

The next bit is super frustrating, but luckily it’s the final part. Once you’ve managed to jump all the way up to the final platform, you’ll be able to see the exit half way across the wall. You need to aim your jump so you land directly on top of the doorway – you’ll also need to push against the wall to make it to the Exit.

Level 11

Welcome to the worst level of any game ever. It’s just an awful, awful idea and an awful, awful implementation. It’s so bad, you’ll be convinced you’re doing something wrong, but you’re not. What you need to do is chase the foot around the level and constantly deal it damage. And I mean constantly. Its seems like if you even miss one hit then the foot is back at full health and you have to start again. Just horrible.

Seriously, you’re doing it right, it’s just the mechanics that are bad. Keep at it – rewind every time the foot stops flashing from damage and keep it up until he dies. Just awful. Basically, the only way to do it quickly is in co-op.

Make sure to grab the tongue extension before starting. Once the foot has died, jump in the UFO to exit. Once you’ve finally done this ridiculous level, you’ll unlock:

The second snapshot requires hammering cn_B to jump up the waterfall and then collect the extra life at the top. Just be careful to not jump over the extra life and you’ll be fine.

The third snapshot requires you to eat 5 fish within 60 seconds. Black fish are the hardest to eat as you have to hit them three times first, so avoid them and just go for the other colours.

The fourth snapshot requires you to squash all of the mushrooms. You can do this by jumping on them – you can’t use your tongue. There’s no pressing time limit so just take your time as you go. There are 6 mushrooms in total. It’s surprisingly easy for a fourth snapshot.

The fifth snapshot requires you to get to the exit within 30 seconds. This is obviously quite difficult and frustrating, so just leg it (well, head it) and hope for the best. It’s not as difficult as it first seems – the biggest threat is over-jumping and falling into the water. You also have more than enough time to take it reasonably slowly. Now you need to actually play the game a little bit – though we’re still going to use a save game to minimise that. To the left of the mother ship (you can either start a new game or simply continue with the previous one) is a large gap leading downwards. Fly down to the bottom (you must be in your ship – you cannot carry equipment with just your space suit) and you’ll find a piece of equipment:

The second snapshot requires you to collect and deliver three fuel canisters within 90 seconds. You’ll need to use cn_X to boost your way around as the fuel canisters are so heavy. The mothership is directly above you and just to the right so it’s very easy.

The third snapshot requires you to return to your Jetpod. You will be in only your spacesuit here so you can’t take any damage from enemies. Fly to the left until the tunnel opens up into a large area. Now fly up to the ceiling and continue flying to the left. Follow the ceiling to the left and you’ll find a small gap leading upwards – your Jetpod is a short way up here.

The fourth snapshot requires you to collect and deliver a game without destroying your Jetpod – your Jetpod can only take 3 hits before it is destroyed (some enemies can destroy it in one hit). You also only have 90 seconds to do so. This is probably the hardest of the snapshots so it may take a number of attempts.

Fly all the way to the left (use your boost as well) and then fly upwards when you reach the cavern wall. Your mothership is just off to the right once you’ve flown upwards. It sounds easy, but it’s a lot trickier than it sounds – the gravity is all over the place on this level and it’s incredibly difficult just to fly in a straight line.

The fifth snapshot requires you to defeat a boss. It a large green leviathan with four eyes. You need to destroy each of its four eyes in order to complete the snapshot. You can only damage the eyes when they’re open, and they take quite a lot of damage each. All the while, the leviathan will be throwing blue rocks at you. Luckily, the controls are pretty easy so just take your time, avoid the rocks and blast the hell out of the eyes. You can only take about three hits before you die.

Once you’ve completed it, you’ll unlock:

Digger T. Rock

Welcome to Digger T. Rock! Here, we are on a quest to uncover the legendary Golden City. There are a total of 8 caverns we must traverse, each with an exit door that only stays open for 60 seconds after standing on its pressure plate. Luckily for us, we have cheats. Go into the options menu and activate all three; rewind, infinite lives and infinite time. With these, the game is an absolute breeze as long as you know where you're going. Make sure to make a save at the start of every level, that way if everything turns to custard you can always just start fresh.

One thing you must note is that to complete the final cavern, you must have four explosives and one gem. If you manage to enter the last cavern without these, you will have to start the game from the start again. Don't panic though, as if you're following this guide you'll easily have enough. As quite a few items are random in where they spawn, I will only be guiding you through as many as you need. That said, pick up all items that come across your path, as it doesn't hurt to have too many.

Start the game up and you'll unlock;

I Can Dig It

Cavern 1

To start, I'll quickly explain a little of the game's mechanics. You will see two different types of rock, a lighter and darker variety. You cannot dig the darker variety, although there are a few circumstances where we will be blowing it up. You can dig the lighter variety in all directions. As you dig it up, you will notice cobblestone-like wall behind it. You can use this to climb in every direction.

Dig down from where we start and to the right. On the ground to the right you will notice something that looks a bit like a Greek stone pillar, this is the pressure switch. In the bottom left of your display, you will see a closed door. As you go stand on this switch, it will depress and you will see the door open. Normally, we would now have 60 seconds to get to the exit, but thanks to infinite time we can take our time. After pressing the switch jump back up and jump all the way over to the right. The third jewel has a chance to spawn here, if it doesn't don't worry as I'll take us past the other locations.

Head back to the pressure switch and go down. In front of you you will see a slope, jump over this to the other side (Rewind if you slip down it). Dig through the cave to the right, but make sure you don't knock the top pink boulder. Instead, head under it to pick up a jewel. Once you have picked this jewel up, keep heading right and walk straight into the wall, this will teleport you to another location. Here, you will be attacked by a pesky mosquito. These things are a pain, but you can kill them easily enough with your shovel by pressing cn_A.

From here, head left and up to find another possible location for that third jewel. Regardless of whether it is there or not, don't jump over the wall, but instead head back down and to the right. Head the only possible way down, the another possible location is through here, until you come across the exit door. Don't go through it, but instead jump over it to the left. Keep heading left, under the slope and through the cave, until you find another jewel. Once you have this head back right to the exit.

Bonus Cave
After completing every cavern you will be sent to the bonus cave, it is the same every time. It is possible to get every gem and bit of treasure here, but it isn't necessary to do so, so don't fret over it. Just try to get as many pieces of treasure as you can to boost your score a bit, and at least one gem so that if we find no more by cavern 4 you will have at least 6 in your inventory.

Cavern 2

Head to the right, avoid the hole in the ground and head through the cave. Watch out for the thin floor boards here as they fall down after you stand on them. In between these two floor boards is a little triangle of rocks, these are throwing rocks. When you 'use' your shovel with these, you will instead of swinging your trusty shovel throw a rock. Not incredibly useful for us as we have infinite lives, but they can be handy none the less for bigger enemies. Over to the right again you will see another tool, the ladder. From here head down the right hole in the floor, through the cave you have to dig through. At the end you'll find one of each of the items.

Head back left to the entrance and stand next to the left hole in the floor. Using cn_X to select the ladder, use cn_A to place it down the hole. Go down the ladder and immediately to your left to find another explosive and a couple of boulders. Knock the bottom boulder down, go left a little bit and fall down the hole in the floor. Immediately to your right you will see this levels pressure switch, go stand on it to activate it. From here head left and jump over to the climbable wall, then head all the way down. At the bottom, stand under the right most block in the set of three. Press cn_up to hit the block, which will cause some throwing stones to come out. Go the the right most ceiling block here and do it again, being careful not to walk through the magic teleporting wall.

Now head through the mentioned teleporting wall. Hit the right most ceiling tile again before heading left. Jump up and dig through the next section all the way to the right. Jump over the gap and from here go hit the right most ceiling tile again. Head down the wall here, then drop a ladder over the ledge to safely get down. To your left you will see a thin wall, drop an explosive here to blow it up. Do the same for the next two walls. Pick up the two items after the third wall, then head back right to above the dinosaur. Head down and start throwing stones at it until it dies. As we have infinite lives, don't fret if you have no more stones as you can use your shovel to beat it back to the prehistoric ages. Head through the exit and complete the bonus stage again.

Cavern 3

Immediately to your left is a new enemy, the ghost. One hit on these will make them freeze, however to kill them you must hit them in the face. After freezing them, wait for them to turn to face you before hitting them again. Head to the right and down the left cave. Keep heading all the way down to the bottom of the map to find some more items, then head left through another magical portal. From where we are now, go back down again until you have an opening to your left. Head through this and take your first up. heading all the way up until just before the cobblestone wall ends. Here is another dinosaur for you to kill, afterwards heading left to stand on the pressure switch it was defending. After flicking the switch head left and then down to the end of the cobblestone wall. Head right to the hole in the floor, and place a ladder down it. Go down the ladder, but before falling off place another ladder to the end of it. Go down here and jump over to the left. Place another ladder down the hole here (Or feel free to just fall as you don't have to come back up), and head all the way to the bottom. Go right from here, into a trap. The idea is pretty simple here, and with infinite lives you can't really fail. Once you've bested the trap head through the exit and onto another bonus cave.

Cavern 4

This cavern could take you all of 15 seconds, but we'll be here a little bit longer as there are shops here that sell us all the tools we'll need to finish the game. You should have at least 6 jewels at this point, the 3 from the first level and 1 from each bonus cave. As soon as you start, you fall onto the pressure switch. Head right until you come to a building that will have two doors, one lit up at floor level and a dark one a bit higher. Jump up and head through the darkened door to appear above the building. Up here you will see a door that is sparkling, this is a shop. Head from left to right into the door and it will come up with 8 ladders. You will notice your gems are flashing, go over to them and 'use' one to purchase the ladders. Head over the the left again and come back to purchase a second set. Once that is done, head right through the ladders and into another portal to appear at the base of the building again.

Now head over to the next building, avoiding the angry cavemen, to do it again. This time buy two sets of explosives. The third building sells sets of throwing stones, not necessary for us but I'd always buy two sets anyway. Head all the way to the right to finish this cave and do another bonus cave.

Cavern 5

Make an extra save at the start of this cavern, as it has skeletons that are really good for farming for the achievement to get 250 kills. From this level onward I will simply be abusing the infinite lives cheat to get us to the end as fast as possible (Whenever I simply tell you to fall, however, feel free to use ladders instead to progress towards an achievement). From the start, head all the way to the right side of the level. Go down here, and at the ledge you come up to simply walk off. Once you've respawned, push the boulder you're standing on down and go down the cave just to your left to land on the pressure plate. Jump up to the right and knock the boulder just here down, you'll need it later. Stand on the pressure plate again, and you'll notice a pink crystal platform that is floating by. Jump on it when you get the chance to take it downward. As it goes down, you'll come up to an area on your left that is a big climbing wall (At about depth 640-660). Jump over to here, and head over to the lower boulder on your left. Knock it down, then knock the higher one down after it. Fall down to follow where the boulders went, and you'll notice to the left of your screen is the exit. Onto another bonus cave!

Cavern 6

Here we have to deal with ice, not that it makes it that much harder though. Head right, and at the end of the platform fall down. Head left until your only option is to dig down, and do so. Head right from here until you come to two pillars, dig under them to get around them. Crawl right until you come up to a big block of stone you can dig. Head down here on the left hand side, and when you fall down head left to the pressure switch. After activating it, jump back up to the platform just above it and make the leap over to the left, making your way over the 3 pillars. Jump over the spinning stick and slide your way to the end of this icy platform. Fall off at the end here, where you will now be attacked by a dragon. Ignore this guy and head right, jumping over any spinning sticks until you come up to one you can't jump over. If you have any throwing stones left, throw some at it until it lowers enough you can get past it and the second one after it. If you don't have any, just use explosives to get rid of them. The exit is right after the second one, so onto the bonus cave we go!

Cavern 7

Head left, into what appears to be a wall. As soon as you walk into it, it will disappear revealing a new area of the map. Head all the way down to the bottom. Once you're down the last ladder, walk right without jumping. This will reveal another portion of the map, which will include the pressure switch. Activate this switch, then make your way back up to the starting location. Once you're back at the start, keep heading right until you fall down to the very bottom of this map. Just a little bit more to your right from here is the exit and another bonus cave!

Cavern 8

Some parts of this level are a little tricky. At the start, jump right across the pillars to the little one just under the dragon. You cannot kill this dragon, only move it out of the way with explosives. The idea here is to explode the dragon out of the way without blowing yourself up, as the dragon walks back if you take too long. Fortunately our infinite lives cheat can make this a bit easier, as we don't care about dying in the process. Immediately after it has shot out a pod, jump up and place an explosive directly in front of it's feet. It will bite you and kill you, but still be blown back by the explosive. As soon as you spawn again, hold right and spam cn_A to hit it's spawn with a shovel whilst walking into the now pink dragon. It will kill you when it touches you, but you will now be on the right hand side of it when you respawn. From here you want to drop down onto the left pillar, as it is the pressure switch for the level. From here fall right to the gravel cave, and dig your way down and to the right. The small pillar to our right here needs to be blown up with explosives, as well as the one after it.

Slide across to the next dragon. By standing at its feet first, you can actually jump over this one. Otherwise just explode it out of the way. Jump up to the right and fall down to the little cobblestone section here. When you walk right here, you'll open up a little cave to follow. Crawl through it to its end, where you will slide across to another dragon. At the end of the slide section, place a gem. The greedy dragon will walk out to get it, giving you a chance to jump over it and make your way to the exit! Congratulations, that's the main game finished!

Snapshots

1.Boulder Tactics - Dodge the boulders in the crumbling cave and grab at least four pieces of treasure.

Very simple, especially if you've already done the main game as you would have done this cave at least 7 times already. Run right, stopping for a boulder that lands just before the third treasure. Go over the boulder to get that treasure, then turn around to stand back on that boulder again to jump left the fourth piece.

2.High Scare Challenge - Welcome to scary cavern 5! Score at least 2500 points in 60 seconds.

Back to skeleton farming! From the start, run right and crawl through the cave to be greeted by a skeleton standing on a ledge. Stand just at its feet, and each time you kill it it will instantly respawn. You don't need to go down to the second one doing this, I could easily score the points needed in half the time just farming this one.

3.Rock Solid - Collect all three gems and make it through the level exit within 60 seconds.

This is just the first level, within 60 seconds whilst collecting the three gems. From the start, dig straight down and right. Stand on the pressure switch, then run and jump right over the slope to get gem #1. Crawl and dig right from here, making sure not to bump the top boulder, to get gem #2. From here, head back to the slope (If you accidentally go through the teleporter it doesn't matter, just make sure if you go past the exit door you jump over it as going through it finishes the level). Head under the slope to the left, where you will find gem #3. From here just make your way back right to the exit and you're done.

4.Hit The Roof - Use your shovel against the ceiling to unearth five sets of throwing rocks as quickly as possible.

There is no time limit here, but you can't die, so watch out for the pesky mosquitoes. The ceiling tile you're going for will always be the most right one of the sets I mention.

1.First ceiling directly above you.

2.Second ceiling to the right from where you start. Note that the end wall is a teleporter, so you have to be careful not to walk into it.

3.Walk through the teleporter, and it's in the ceiling above where you teleported to.

4.From previous, make your way left and crawl up the wall. Head right, jump over the gap and the 4th one is in the ceiling here.

5.Go down the cave here, and over the ledge to your left (You will survive the fall, but you can use a ladder if you're a bit injured). The ceiling to your right has the final one.

Here is a quick video for those who prefer;

5.Untouchable - Guide Digger to the level exit without taking any damage!

This is cavern 7, you start already on the pressure switch. The only things here that can actually injure you are the cavemen, and walking over the ledge instead of putting a ladder down. As soon as you start, head up to the top. From here, you want to head right past two cavemen until you fall down over a ledge. From here head left, falling only twice. At the edge of this platform, place a ladder. At the bottom of the ladder, place another one, and repeat until you have put three joining ladders. Fall from the bottom one, then just head right to the exit. There may be a caveman in this last little bit to look out for!

Once you've done all of them, you will unlock;

Battletoads

Welcome to Battletoads! Beware, this game is very hard, even with both the rewind and infinite lives cheats. That said, definitely turn those two cheats on in the options menu, and we'll get started.

As soon as you start up the game, you'll unlock the following achievement;

Do You Have Battletoads?

Level 1 - SS Vulture

As soon as your toad lands, you'll be attacked by two red enemies. Use cn_A to attack them, killing them by doing a combo (cn_B is jump, for all the games controls). After killing these two, head right to met a long legged enemy. Combo it twice, and after killing it you'll notice one of its golden legs on the ground. Use cn_A to pick this up, as weapons do more damage than your fists. Head right to kill two more red enemies, another long legged one and then a silver one. After dispatching of these four, head right again to see two little flies come onto the screen. Using cn_A near these will cause your toad to automatically use his tongue to try eat them. Eating flies increases your health, and importantly to us we need to eat 50 of them for an achievement. Another silver enemy will jump out at you after the flies, then we will met another enemy. These flying pigs aren't hard, just wait for them to swoop down to you and attack them before they hit you (Rewind is your friend here if you mistime it).

Head to the top of the screen and jump past the waterfall, where you will now face three more red enemies. Just to your right four flies will spawn just above a big drop. Drop down here to met your first boss. Here, we will be looking through the eyes of the boss. Simply run around dodging his shots, and notice that after it tries to shoot you a rock will come out of the ground. Use cn_A to pick this up, and when the boss isn't moving use cn_A again to throw it at it. After doing this only three times you will have finished both this fight and the first level!

Level 2 - Impact Crater

Here we will be using a rope to decent down to the bottom of this crater. This level is pretty straight forward, and with rewind you should have no trouble getting through it. When you attack here you'll use your legs to kick, try to get the birds early before they take off as they're much harder to get flying around. The plants they try eating you aren't hard to deal with. After passing both of these types, you'll come up to a long beaked bird that will sit high on the screen. This bird will fly from one side of the screen to the other to cut your rope, instantly killing you, so get them early. After killing the first one, you can grab it's beak to use as a weapon for the rest of the level. You'll soon come up against a robot that bursts through the wall at you. These things will kill you in two hits, although you spawn where you die here so don't worry too much about staying alive. After a couple more birds, you'll come up to some electromagnets that will move across the screen. Quickly get around them to not get shocked. The rest of this level is just everything we've already seen, so just continue to make your way all the way down to the bottom.

Level 3 - Chasm

Welcome to a level you may very well come to hate, as we are now in the turbo tunnel. Fortunately here, we have rewind, so it isn't too hard. To start head right, killing the kangaroos you come up against whilst jumping over the bubbly mess between the islands. After a few of them, you'll be introduced to the space invaders enemy. They come onto the screen, head up to the top left and steal health directly from your health bar. Kill them quickly and remember to try pick your health back up again after they've dropped them. After a few more kangaroos you'll come up to a pair of vehicles, this is the start of the turbo tunnel. A few tips here;

  • When you come up to a ramp don't do anything but run directly into it (Or jump directly into it for the higher blue ones), and while in the air don't touch any controls. They will always get you across, and if you move mid-air there is a high chance you will miss the landing.
  • With the walls you jump over, many find it better to move to the right after you jump them immediately back to your left after passing the wall. This gets you over them as quickly as possible.
  • For the islands near the end, move left and right (Not up and down, at all!) to make sure you land on the next island, then jump just at the end of it.
  • For the fast moving part at the end, some people found listening to them swoop by made it easier to tell when to move. I personally ignore the top half, and just watch myself dodging the bottom half to know when to move.
  • Make sure to note the three quick jumps at the end!

After these you will be done with this level. If you want to watch it being done, head to the bottom of this page to see a video of the tunnel being done in snapshot 3.

Level 4 - Arctic Caverns

You'll immediately begin this level in motion, however if you don't touch anything you will come to a stop just before any harm. Avoid the next icicle falling from the ceiling, and jump over the ice wall to be greeted by a sliding block of ice. Just before the block hits you, punch it to make it stop in its tracks. Pick it up, then throw it at the wall blocking your way to the right. Fall down to be put into a snowball fight with a snowman. Duck under his first two throws and jump over the third. Quickly pick up a snowball and throw it back at him to win. Drop down a couple of times to met another one, same pattern. After dropping down after this one, watch out for a block of ice that tries rushing into you from above. Drop all the way down to the bottom, and avoid the block of ice until it smashes through the wall here. Head through, avoiding the icicles on the ceiling, to met another snowman you can just jump over. Jump up here to where you will have to jump up some slopes, will avoiding the growing snowballs coming down them. After jumping onto a slope, keep running into the wall until you have an opening to jump onto the next one. If you get hit your unconscious toad will slide most if not all the way back down to the bottom, so rewind is your friend here. At the top kill the snowman and use his snowballs to destroy the wall in our way.

Watch out in this next section, because as soon as you jump over the ice wall here a golden tortoise shell will be coming straight for you. Jump over it and out of its little trap, avoiding the red spikes on the ceiling as they will instantly kill you. As you slide down here, another block of ice will come bolting down from above so make sure to jump over it. When you get to the bottom, quickly jump over the ice wall to your right here and then just wait for the snowman to destroy the wall in your way. Up next wait for the golden platform, then jump on it to get over the red spikes. Duck under a random snowball that comes from nowhere as you ride it to the right, then jump down the following gap making sure to head left as soon as you can to avoid the icicle coming down after you. Down here, there is a snowman to the left throwing snowballs that you need to avoid while jumping over the ice walls. He will always throw them in a 1-2 pattern, so as long as you don't jump between the 2 you will be alright. The next section the snowman throws one up, one down. Jump over a low throw and the ice wall at the same time then quickly slide under the red spikes while avoiding the top throw. Head over the next two walls, kill the snowman and use his snowballs to clear the path.

Watch out for another block of ice that will follow you down here. Once at the bottom, jump onto another golden platform and make sure to duck under the roof spike here. Jump up the the next platform for more of the same. The next two ice walls here have another golden tortoise shell bouncing between them. The next two drops also have more of the same. When you get to the bottom, stay to the right and try to stop and pick up the block of ice here. As you head left with it, a golden tortoise shell will spawn that you will need to avoid. When you're about mid-way up the last ramp, throw the block of ice up over the ice wall here to clear the way (Rewind if the throw doesn't quite work). As the block of ice is now an obstacle, just make sure you land directly on it to stop it in its path. After another golden tortoise shell, you'll need to be a little bit fast. At the end of the ramp here you need to jump over to the flat landing and kill the snowman here, the reason to need to be fast is that a few rolling snowballs will be rolling down after you. Jump over to the next little platform, minding the icicle on the roof, and over to the orange moving platform here. Again duck as you go across it, and jump over to a wall you can't get through here. Snowballs will come from your left, with three quick high ones followed by a single low throw. Avoid these until they smash through, then jump over to the orange platform here.

If you'd prefer a video of this next section, scroll down to snapshot 4. Otherwise, just before the platform you're on hits the floor jump to the left. A good note for this area is the longer you hold cn_B for, the higher you jump. For most of this next section you only want to do little jumps or you will hit the ceiling. Run left and jump over the the next platform. The wall here will bounce up when the tortoise shell hits it, so just keep running left until you make it under. Wait on this right hand side, and jump over the shell to the left when it comes back. Run left into this second wall, and jump just before the shell hits you to avoid the shell and then quickly make your way under it. Jump up here to find more of the same, just to the right this time. After passing that section, there is another orange platform that will fall down as you stand on it. Jump to the right just before hitting the floor to a safe platform, then run right to finish this level.

Level 5 - Water Rapids

This level is a bit easier than the turbo tunnel as we can't jump, so all we have to worry about is moving ourselves up and down, and occasionally left and right. Don't be afraid to move right to avoid obstacles, but always try to get back to the far left as fast as you can for the most reaction time. To start simply avoid the logs here until you come to a waterfall. Fall down, to be now greeted by whirlpools. These can be a little harder to avoid, but the use of rewind doesn't make it that stressful. After the whirlpools you'll land on a platform, where you will be attacked by the space invaders again. After these you will have to fight another two long legged enemies, who will drop a leg to use as a weapon for the boss coming up. This a red big fat kangaroo. There isn't much to this, just try to be next to it after it lands to land a hit. You will have to combo it what feels like too many times, just keep doing until you get the 10000 points to signify you've killed it. Run to the right to jump onto another surf board section. Here you will be avoiding mines, just remember to use rewind to make this easy. When you hit a ramp, remember to not move in the air to avoid falling off the map. After a few sections of mines you're done with this level!

Level 6 - Karnath's Lair

This level is an entire level of platforming up flying snakes. I won't walk you through the first three sections here, it would be faster for you to just apply a liberal use of the rewind button if you jump too early or late somewhere. Generally speaking the snake will show you where you're going next. Once it goes into the wall, jump at the last second on its tail to land on the next one, and make sure to hit the OUT hole at the top of the screen. In the third area, on the yellow snake stay near the wall until it comes back around again to then climb its back. In the fourth area (Red background) quickly jump up the jumps on the wall over the spikes to keep up with the first snake. With the gray snake, at the very end jump off the very tip of its tail at the last second to make the landing onto the blue one after it. With the yellow and pink snake, as it goes up the second time you want to be holding onto the tip of its tail until the last second to fall onto it as it comes back around. The next two are very fast, although they go in straight lines. When you get to the pink one, jump to the right at the last second to land on it again, making sure not to land on a spike. Climb with it as it goes up to the last OUT. You're now halfway though the game! Just what you wanted to hear, right?

Level 7 - Volkmire's Inferno

As soon as the game starts you'll be ambushed by some kangaroos. Kill these guys and the more that spawn as you head right. Jump a couple of islands, fighting a couple of kangaroos at a time, until you come up to a floating log. Use this as a platform to get across to the next island, a total of three times. After the third one you'll be attacked by some kangaroos again, then a couple of things in flying machines that you simply need to hit just before they get to you. After these the space invaders will attack again, followed by more of the same kangaroos and flying machines. You will soon come up to a jet fighter you will have to fly through the rest of the level. Simply go up and down to go through the gaps, using rewind if needed. You will come up to some that open up as you approach them, where you want to be as far left as possible. After these, there will be some that start closing as soon as they enter the screen, meaning you will want to be as far right as possible to get through them before they close. After these you will encounter fireballs, although I found sitting at the top of the screen meant I avoided almost every single one. After these you will have to face rockets that come from the bottom and top of the screens. After passing these the fourth section is like the first again, just much faster. After the three that open up, you'll encounter three that close. Then one of each. The fifth section is the same again, but this time they flash first to tell you what is coming. The last two leave very little room for error, but are easily doable with rewind. Onto the next level!

Level 8 - Intruder Excluder

Here we're heading up an elevator shaft.The first enemy we meet shoots bolts to the left and right. You can kill these, but you don't need to. Continue to make your way up until you come up to a gap moving left and right that has electricity periodically connecting it. When the bolt is little you can still get past it, but once it is fully connected you don't want to touch it. On the right side of the wall here is a weapon you can take off the wall, although it is not needed. Continue up until you get to some spring pads. Just at the right time to do a big jump up with these. You will come up to two yellow blobs, I hated these things even with rewind. There is no easy method, especially as their movements are random so after a rewind they might move a different direction. Continue upwards until you com to another spring board. Here is a new trap, the gas sprayer. These things are deadly, so make sure to avoid them. Just above that is a fan on the wall, these things will either blow you off or suck you in, so get past them as fast as possible. The rest of the level is just everything we have seen before, just with less forgiving timing. Once you get to the top, you'll face another boss. Dying here will have no affect other than a bit of time wasted respawning, so don't fret too much over it here. After the boss jumps, he'll shoot a few times. Duck under these shots and stand up for a quick combo on him. The more you hit him the faster he will get, just keep going until you get the 10000 point hit meaning you've finished him.

Level 9 - Terra Tubes

As soon as you start you will be shot at by a robot enemy to your right. Duck under this and move over to kill it. Drop down and do the same to the second one. Passed where this second one spawned you will be able to grab a mini helicopter to float you down. At the bottom watch out for another robot. After dispatching this one, follow the water up, killing the robots in the way. Eventually you'll come up to another mini helicopter, this one will float you up. At the top, as you move right you will see a big gear spawn above you. The next section is a whole bunch of these chasing you, if you die you will spawn back where you are now so use rewind instead. At the end of this first section it falls into the water, so don't be standing in it. The second one is much the same, but at the very end jump just before it hits you and it will disappear. The third section leaves little wiggle room, jump in the water as well to move faster as the water is working against you. At the end of the fourth section stay to the right to avoid being run over.

Next up is a water section. Use jump to go up when needed, as you will naturally sink down. Avoid the spikes and eels here to make your way through, note that at the surface you can jump right out of the water over the obstacles. There is a small land section here with a robot to dispatch, then on to more water. Avoid the hammer fish here and head down, following the water around. Jump over the pipe to another section where you will have to avoid even more spikes and eels. I sometimes found the eels would be right in your way, so I would have them follow be back and go around them instead of trying to go through them. After a few eels you will come up against a couple of sharks, these things head straight for you and are a royal pain. Try to beeline as much as possible to the top right, where we will get to another rolling gear section. At the end of this first one, stay down whilst avoiding the spikes down here as it runs straight into the pillar in the way. The second one transitions between swimming and running, and at the end drop down into the gap again to let the gear roll over you. Head up, avoiding the shark and spikes until you're on solid land again.

Note that from here to the end of the level is considered one section, meaning that if you die at any point you will end up back where you are now. Grab the mini helicopter here and float down to the bottom, where you will be greeted by a rubber ducky. Let it get closer to you and jump over it to get passed it. Fall down here, and wait for the first duck down here to come close to you. Jump over it twice, so you are still on the left side of it and follow it right. Eventually a second one will spawn, let it chase you all the way left and jump over it and the first one as it comes back so you are now in between both ducks heading right. At the end jump over the duck onto the platform, and into another swimming section. Avoiding the spikes, make your way past the hammer fish. Continuing on you will come up to a shark, quickly continue onward here until you are going straight up. Stick to the left side, and as soon as you surface jump right to avoid the rubber ducky up here. Try to land on the small platform here, to jump across to the mini-helicopters and make your way down. At the bottom here is the end of the level.

Level 10 - Rat Race

This level is a pain. Three times you have to race a kangaroo a bomb and destroy it before it can set it off. There really isn't any way I can walk you through this as it is simply a matter of learning when and where to turn. Rewind is your best friend here! Just make sure your finger is on cn_A, as you don't want to get down to the bomb and press the wrong button. Here is a video for those that want to see it being done,

After the third race, you have to face a boss (Because you enjoyed the level so much so far, why not drag it out a bit longer?). This boss is a bull, so as you'd expect, the idea is to stay out of his way. The more injured he is the faster he runs, so just jump over him and get just behind him to land a hit or two before repeating over and over until he is dead. As a note, I found getting the first hit in while he was immobile to be pretty impossible. To beat that, simply let him kill you then hit him while you have the few invincible seconds that you respawn with.

Level 11 - Clinger-Winger

There is no way to sugar coat this, welcome to the worst level in the game. There is also very little advice I can give you about it. You need to hold the joystick/d-pad the direction you are going, and perfectly transition the corners. The ball that is chasing you is faster than you on the straights, but if done right, you can beat it on the corners. You almost need to be frame perfect here. The rewind does work, but to get it right you need to rewind to straight sections as you'll almost never be able to get the corners right if you immediately start in them. Near the end are some quite long straights, so if you get this far without enough space between you and the ball you will have no option but to let it kill you and start again (At least your score will keep going up, right?). Then to make it worse, you have to fight it as a boss at the end, although after doing the level it is quite trivial. With that, I wish you good luck!

Level 12 - The Revolution

Welcome to the final level in the game. Don't panic, if you've managed to do the previous two levels then this is relatively much easier. For this level you are climbing a round tower, to kill the final boss at the top. To start, jump up onto the pad here and to the left to grab the golden pole for a weapon. Kill the enemy here, as with most of this level you won't be able to proceed upwards until you have killed all enemies on your current level. Dodge the spinning spike here to find green jumping pads, these are annoying as they periodically disappear. At the next level, with another spike, you'll find the third type of jumping pad. These pads go down as you stand on them, so just leave no time to waste and jump straight off them again up the tower. Keep ascending the tower, using springboards and jumping pads along the way. Note if it seems like an impossible jump, there may be a green pad that is just currently invisible that you will need to wait for. Kill any enemies that spawn along the way. You will soon met a green ghost like enemy, easy enough but again it must be killed. You will then met a red enemy that will try to eat you whole, make sure you hit them before they touch you! The red ghosts shoot bubbles, definitely avoid these. When you get to an area with two of them spinning around dropping bubbles down, you can skip killing these two by finding the green pad to jump up. The next area is lots of jumping up.

Soon you will get to a platform with a couple of golden poles coming out the wall, grab onto these as soon as possible as soon a ghost will come onto the side of the screen and try blow you off the tower. Ascend the tower some more, until you get to a moving jump pad at about your level. This is another section with a red ghost that will try to blow you off the tower, so jump up and grab a golden pole again. Every time you see a pair of golden poles on the wall from here you will know it is this enemy again. Continue upwards up many more jumping pads, spring boards and the occasional enemy to kill/ avoid by holding onto the golden pole and you'll find yourself at the top in no time. At the top, you'll met the final boss. Compared to previous bosses in the game, this one is pretty easy. All she does is spin, turning into a tornado. Simply avoid her as a tornado, and lay hits on her when she's not. Once you've placed the final hit you'll be greeted by the final cut-scene, and most importantly the following achievement;

2.Clipped Wingers - The Hypno-Orb's malfunctioned, but there's no time to relax - reach the end in 100 seconds!

This is level 11 again, but don't panic as it is much easier. Mucking up a bit I still managed to get this done with 15 seconds to spare, so there is a bit of wiggle room. Remember to try to get the corner transitions as frame-perfect as you can, as that is where you lose the most time if you don't get them right.

3.Turbo Tunnel Infinite - It's a toad's worst nightmare! Survive for 45 seconds in an endless Turbo Tunnel.

Actually, you need to try survive an entire loop as there is an independent achievement related to doing so. Here are the tips again for this tunnel;

Here is a video of it being done;

Once you get to 45 seconds you will have completed this snapshot. If you manage to get to the checkpoint barrier just after the three quick jumps at about 2:14, you will unlock the following achievement;

4.Slippery Toad - Reach the end of the Arctic Caverns within 60 seconds.

This is the final section of level 4, just under a 60 second time-limit. Here are the instructions from when we did this earlier.

Just before the platform you're on hits the floor jump to the left.

Here is a video for those who prefer;

5.Rat Race Rush - Race to the bottom of the shaft and destroy the bomb before it can be detonated!

This is the second rat race from level 10. You have around 35 seconds to get to the bomb, and remember to quickly hit it with cn_A when you get there!

R.C Pro-am II

Welcome to R.C. PRO-AM II! This game is very similar to the first one. However it is much easier to get all of the achievements thanks to the cheat 'Infinite Continues'. This means it doesn't matter what position you come, you can simply continue on to the next race all the way to the end. So with that said, activate the cheats and load up the game to unlock the first achievement;

Pick three letters for a name and start the race. Our goal with the races will be to collect as much money as possible for upgrades, collect all the letters to spell PRO AM II (This upgrades your car to a better model), and to try to finish first where possible though this isn't necessary. If you are about to finish a race in first, make a save just before the finish line that we can use later to grind out the last few achievements.

Before the start of every race bar the first, you will get a chance to spend some of your cash of upgrades. In this menu, when you select a field (For example, MOTOR) you will open another menu of upgrades for that particular part of your car. If you have the money to, after each race I would suggest buying an upgrade for your car. With any spare cash, waste it on buying Shields in the EXTRA menu. The following race, use every shield by pressing cn_B so that you can buy more again (You can only hold 10 at a time). After you have purchased 50 upgrades, you will unlock the following achievement;

2.Cruise Control II - It's a snapshot sequel! Finish the race an average speed of 75mph or more.

The speed that displays on the left hand side is you average speed. Simply keep this above 75 for two laps, you do not need to come first. You can easily get this above 90, so this snapshot isn't very hard.

3.A Quick Buck - Grab at least five cash pick-ups in 60 seconds! Use your unlimited buckshot to clear a path.

At the start of the race, let the other racers get ahead just a bit then spam cn_B to hit them with your buckshot. Every time you do, a cash pick-up will drop out of them. After picking up five you will be done with this snapshot. There are also pick-ups on the ground as well that you many find easier to get.

4.Going Turbo - Use the track's turbo boosts to finish five laps in 95 seconds or less.

This snapshot is quite unforgiving, I missed only one turbo boost and finished with 0.55 seconds left. Simply play it a few times until you've learned where the corners and turbo boosts are, then practice makes perfect!

5.Velocity - Your sabotaged R.C. car mustn't drop below 50mph! Finish in the top 3.

This snapshot is a pain. Finishing the race without dropping below 50mph and in the top 3 would normally be easy, however you have to contend with two long straights with bombers aiming directly for you. You have to try turn quite a bit before they go to drop their bombs, a second to late and you won't be able to avoid them. Especially on the second straight, which is covered in ice! At this screen you can press either cn_X, cn_A or cn_B to select either Zitz, Rash or Pimple respectively. Eventually we are going to need to finish the game three times, once as each toad, unless you have a spare controller to connect right at the end. The controls are simple, cn_A to attack and cn_B to jump. We also use cn_A to pick up and throw items. Over the course of the game, we need to get 100 smash hit kills. The way we do this is by knocking a small enemy out, note that the earlier ones you met are too weak to do this too. Then, standing over them, attack them while holding down. You toad will do a lethal attack depending on which character you are playing as. We can grind this later, but the more you get of the way in the natural progression of the game the less of a grind it will be later!

Stage 1 - Defend the Vulture

We start on the side of our space ship, the Vulture. Kill the first two rats here then move right to find a giant pig. Once you knock these enemies down, the next hit you do on them will cause your toad to kick them off the screen. As you continue on right, killing the enemies in your way, you'll come up against some rubble that you can pick up to use as a hammer. There isn't much to this level, although when you get to the end you will face a boss. This will happen in every level in the game. The boss here is easy, avoid him as he jumps down to you then immediately attack him. You'll eventually kick him off the screen towards you again, where he will jump back and try land on you again. Continue this a few times and you will eventually kick him off the ship away from you.

Stage 2 - The Arctic Caverns

After the first few rats here, you'll be charged by a reindeer. Jump over it and immediately attack it, it only takes one hit to kill but it doesn't give you a big window to do so. After a few more average rats, you'll get attack by a couple of small rats. These things are a royal pain, they quickly skate past to jump up and butt slam you. Killing them when they're off the screen is the easiest way to get them. Next up you'll fight some snowmen. Either jump or duck under their snowballs to make your way over to them to kill them. Watch the third one as it tries to roll towards you after it throws three snowballs. After dropping off here watch out for the reindeer below. Jump your way up the next ramp to met a new enemy, a rat with a gun. They aren't much stronger than the other rats, but they will periodically shoot at you. Prioritize getting rid of these ones first, but note that the other rats will pick up their gun once they have dropped it. You'll soon met another single small rat, after killing it stay all the way to the left of the screen to avoid the ceiling falling on you.

After going down a few slides you'll meet a couple more machine gun rats, then afterwards a small army of small rats will attack you. Watch out for the reindeer after killing the last small rat. A few more rats will attack before going down a steep slide. There will be some rubble you can pick up here, that comes in handy for the small army of small rats that attack. Stay to the right after killing them to avoid the ceiling, then move to the middle. Continue now to meet another couple of snowmen. Watch the second one as he turns himself into a snowball after a few throws. At the bottom will be another army of small rats, followed by another reindeer. Go up the ramp here to fall down into the bosses lair. Kill the rats first, then the boss will appear. Not difficult, move left and right to avoid being bitten then attack him as his head is stuck in the ground. You have to hit him what feels like way too many times, but just keep going until you eventually decapitate him. Kick his head to be finished with the level.

Stage 3 - The Dark Queen's Ship

Here we will be heading left. Kill the many rats that come at you until you come up to a big one. Initially this guy may seem hard, but all you have to do is spam cn_A as he walks towards you. Before he can get a hit in you will start a rather cheap combo on him. Keep doing this until he is dead and move on. Kill some more rats until you come to a door that will spawn them from the top of the screen. After clearing this up, to your left will be a flame that periodically shoots flame down, make sure to stay out of its way as you continue to fight more rats on this obviously infested ship. Continue left, watching out for another flame at the very end. Soon after you drop down here, you will come up against rats with guns as well as another big rat. At the end of this section, after some flies go past a ladder will spawn that allows you to climb up.

Up here are two more big rats, try to take out the purple one first as it is weaker. Climb the ladder after these two to continue onward right. As you get to open space ships will start dropping rats on top of you, although the actual fighting here is no different from normal. At the end of this section another giant rat will attack you, note that this guy is much tougher than the previous ones. The same method of killing him will work, but he may get a few hits in before you kill him. Continue onward, where you will end up having to fight an army of rats. After killing them you then have to fight two giant rats - this fight is annoying but fortunately we have unlimited continues so you'll always eventually get passed it. If you pick up the rubble, move to the top of the screen and make sure you hit both of them while they are in a line. This can reduce the combos needed to make this a bit easier. Next up is this levels boss, Robo-Rat.

Not a difficult boss, just make sure you are not standing in front of him when his arms light up to avoid his laser fire. After you have broken his arms off, he will start using laser eyes. To avoid this simply move up or down the screen, although you can almost do this entire stage just beating him at the edge of the screen. After this stage the top half of the armour falls off and he starts trying to kick you, try to stay on the screen so that when you hit him he goes flying away from you as he kicks immediately after being hit. And it's not over! He will now, only on his knees, try to stomp you. Try to be right beside where he is going to land to land a hit on him before he jumps up again. After finally killing this guy you have finished the level.

Bonus Stage - Destroy The Rat Fighter

This is just a stage to try get some extra score, you can't fail here. Just destroy as much of the jet as you can before the time runs out!

Stage 4 - The Hole

Here we are descending all the way down a hole. As the game will tell you, you can use jump to do a super attack however you have a limited amount of these to use, so I suggest holding on to them until I tell you to use them. After the first few enemies, fly around the worms. After a few more enemies you will come across a couple more worms, then eventually a creepy face on the wall. Kill the eyes and then attack the face until it blows up in a shower of blood. After a few more enemies you will face another one. The next worms you come up to will attack across your screen, so move up and down the screen to avoid their attacks. You will encounter a new flying enemy that is a bit like a dog, and will chew on you if it gets hold. You kill it the same way as normal though. Continue downwards and you will come up to a section with eyes falling from above you. Half way down this section a green token will fly across your screen, attack this to get another super attack. Continue downward to a section with little red worms jumping across the screen, after these you will have a small army of enemies attack you. Use a super attack to clear most of them out. After this lot a second small army will attack you, and another super attack token will spawn at the bottom of the screen. Try to get the token and use another attack to clear out the majority again. As you may have guessed, a third small army will attack you. Again use another super attack to clear out the majority of them. After a few more red worms this level will be over, no boss this time!

Stage 5 - Dark Queen's Mansion

Welcome to the Queens's mansion, for the majority of the level all you will be doing is heading right whilst facing almost every type of enemy you encountered up until this part of the game. After fighting more of the same, you will come up to a hallway that is heading away from you up the screen. Giant green 3D balls will roll down to you from here, move left and right to avoid them. After the last set enemies will ambush you from both the left and right and down the hallway. Continue onward with more of the same, to another hallway with blue obstacles this time instead of green. After more of the same, you will come up to this levels boss, a giant fat rat.

There isn't much to this boss in the first stage, just try to avoid its tail and rolling attacks. After hitting it a few times it will grow to an enormous rat. Like all jumping enemies just try to be next to where it is going to land to get some quick hits it. Note you can only get two in before it will jump up again. Eventually he will shrink to the previous size, repeat everything again and after enough hits on him the second time he is enormous he will die. Kick him off the screen to finish this level.

Stage 6 - The Final Confrontation

Make a save at the start of this level, every projectile here counts as an enemy towards the 1000 needed for an achievement, so hit as many as possible! If you don't have the 1000 by the end of the level, you can use this save to get you there. As it tells you at the start, hold the attack button and use the joystick to aim. Let go of the attack button to move instead of aim. Jump is a super attack again like the previous level you were descending in, here it fires a really power attack in a full circle around you. Kill everything you see until you get to some fireballs that are moving in a helix over the screen, where you will notice a '?' token flying over the screen. Hit this for a temporary upgrade to your gun. As we continue the level, the unlimited retries means all you're going to be focusing on is shooting everything that moves and picking up as many upgrades as you can. When you get to the boss, he will take almost as long as the rest of the level did. Just keep going at him, using up all your super attacks while you have them. Just before he dies, if you have a spare controller, make a save game. After defeating him, you will unlock the following achievement;

If you can't get a good one on level 1, level 2 has much better rats to get a save on. Once you have one, continue to load the save and finish of the rat until you have done a lifetime total of 100. This will get you the following achievement;

Snapshots

1.Passive Aggression - This pack of scaredy-rats won't attack, so get rid of 15 as quickly as possible!

A challenge you can't lose as there is no time limit and they don't attack you. So spam cn_A until you've killed 15! After completing your first snapshot, you will unlock the following achievement;

Rash Action

2.Rash's Last Stand - It's Rash vs. the universe! Survive Robo-Manus's assault for at least 15 seconds.

Move to the left, and wait for the lasers to get close to you. Use cn_B to do a spinning attack to kill the machine, then use the same attack on the following enemies. You'll already be at 15 seconds here, so keep trying to just let them kill you to be done with this snapshot.

3.Rats in a Barrel - You've got just 45 seconds to deal with at least 15 rats - weapons will help even the odds!

This snapshot is tricky. At the start you want to use your weapon as fast as possible, as your melee is actually much more effective against these mini rats. I found being on the far right of the screen the best place to be, as you often kill most if not all of them as they run in from the right. If they end up chain butt-slamming you just restart. After you've killed the 10th one, a reindeer will charge in from the right. Try to hit him before he charges, if you don't manage to jump over the charge and get him on the left.

Slide down the hill to face four normal sized rats, although unfortunately two of them have guns. There are different methods to getting this done, one way is to try throw one of the armed rats at the other one to disable them both long enough to take them out. Another way is to focus on and kill one as quickly as possible, so you can pick up its gun to take out the rest. After these four a dead you should have your 15, although it can bug on you and only have 14 at this point. If that has happened, rush down the next slope to find another army of small rats.

4.Wrath of Karnath - Reptiles are no match for amphibians! Take out Karnath without losing a life.

This isn't very hard, before Karnath attack he is pointing in the direction he will lunge. Make sure you're out of the way, and quickly attack him before he recedes back for another strike. You will survive one attack, so you don't have to be perfect here. After you decapitate him, kick his head off the screen to be done with this snapshot.

5.Twice as Mice - General Vermin and...General Vermin?! Defeat them both without loosing a life.

At the start, rush to pick up the rubble then head up to the top of the screen. When they're lined up, spam cn_A to hit both of them over and over until your weapon expires. What you want to do here now is quickly kill one of the Generals, as as soon as you have one left it is really easy. I found the purple one only ever needed one combo. When you only have one left, just stand there spamming cn_A as you will initiate a combo before they hit you.

After you've completed all the snapshots, you'll unlock the following achievement;

Quartermaster

Killer Instinct Gold

Welcome to Killer Instinct Gold! Let me start by alleviating any fears you may have, you do not need to be an expert to finish this game, or even experienced. There is a potential problem however, in that to get all the achievements it requires you to have two controllers (There is a location you can only visit with two controllers, Sky). It also makes the arcade mode much easier as you can choose this easy map to win on. If you don't have a second Xbox One controller but have a spare Xbox 360 controller and a computer running Win10, you can plug your 360 controller into your computer to use as a second through the Xbox app. This game has no Rare Replay cheats, but there will be an in-game one we use to make it a bit easier. So lets get started! After loading up the game you will unlock the following achievement;

No Time For Diplomacy

Killer Instinct Gold: Play the game for the first time.

No Time For Diplomacy
1 guideOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.

Note that for the entirety of this walkthrough, I will be showing buttons for the default layout. When the game has loaded, don't press anything and wait for it to start showing you the character bios. Once it has started, enter in the following combination;

cn_backcn_Xcn_Acn_RSlcn_Acn_back (Note that it is press left with the right joystick).

This will unlock a few more options for us. Press start to initiate the menu (Note you press start to select in this game), then scroll all the way to the bottom to Options. In here, change the following settings;

Game Speed: Slow

Difficulty: Easy

Cheap Juggles: On (Found in Level 4 Options)

Blocking: Off (Found in Level 5 Options)

With these settings we are now ready to go beat the game on Easy! Press Start to exit the options menu and head all the way back up to the top again to Arcade. We will be playing as Sabrewulf, he is quite obvious as he looks like a werewolf. For those you don't have a second controller, select him and skip the rest of this paragraph. Otherwise connect the second controller now and press start. It doesn't matter what character player two is, but the trick here is for both players to be holding down and select their characters with cn_B at the same time. If it worked properly, you will load up the map Sky. It is a floating platform in the sky that makes this rather easy, as you can kick your opponent off the side for an easy victory.

The main combo we will be using is as follows,

cn_left,cn_right,cn_RT

This will cause Sabrewulf to do a flip. If it connects with the opponent, it will make them go flying up, and with cheap juggling on you can almost do it continually until the opponent dies. If you're on Sky it has a high chance of knocking your opponent off the map, and it's not surprising for most fights on this map to take less than 10 seconds. If you're not on Sky, the following combo is generally much better;

cn_left,cn_right,cn_Y

This causes Sabrewulf to do a cartwheel, and because we have turned off block if you get in the rhythm of it you can chain hit them until they die. There is also another combo you can do using cn_B instead, if you feel neither of the above two are working!

The next two notes are specific on the amount of controllers you have.

-For those with two controllers, start by killing off your second controller. After you have won this fight, do not press continue on the second controller. You can disconnect it at this point. You will have to face the same opponent again as an AI, as well as every following one, but what we have done is forced it to be on Sky to make for easy victories using the first combo I mentioned.

-For those with one controller, from here you will be work one by one through each opponent on rotating maps until you make it to Gargos, the final opponent. I find the cn_Y combo much easier for these maps you can't knock any enemies off, but you will get a feel for what one you like the most.

Regardless of set-up, if you end up dying at any point make sure you press continue. If you don't pay attention and let it count down to 0, you will have to start the entire process from the start again! Note that even on easy your opponents will occasionally be extremely unforgiving, but as you have unlimited continues just keep trying. You will have to work your way through every opponent until you come up to Gargos, the final opponent. The method here is the same, I found the cn_RT combo worked better but you may find you prefer another one. Once he is down to red flashing health, you will need to knock him off the stage. Fortunately for us our cn_RT attack already does this, so just do it one more time and you will finish him. Congratulations, you're now done with Arcade mode and will have the following achievement;

Those Who Fight Furthest

Killer Instinct Gold: Complete Arcade Mode on Easy difficulty or above.

Those Who Fight Furthest

If you have one controller, go to the options again and change the difficulty to Very Easy. Otherwise Head into arcade again, and pick Sabrewulf. If you have two controllers start up the second one to create an opponent that won't fight back. What we're aiming to do here is 5 Ultra combos. To do an ultra combo you must do a particular combo as your opponents health is flashing red (So almost dead). This isn't too hard if you're doing it against yourself, but if you're doing it against AI you will need a bit of luck! Once you're opponent is ready to be Ultra'd, enter in the following combination;

cn_left,cn_right,cn_Y, HOLD cn_left,cn_right,cn_A

After the cn_Y combo you will be doing a cartwheel. As soon this attack starts, begin to hold cn_left. Just before the cartwheel ends, you then need to release it and quickly press the cn_right,cn_A. The timing is critical, but once you've done it once you'll find it easy to replicate most times. In total you need to win 5 fights with this ultra combo, after the 5th one you will unlock the following achievements;

From here, continue playing the arcade mode you are currently in as you need to get a streak of 10 wins. Against yourself you shouldn't have any problem getting this. Against AI, you should by now have the cn_left,cn_right,cn_Y combo down to a near art, and as we changed the AI difficulty to Very Easy earlier they should have much less chance of turning the fight around. After 10 straight wins, you will have the following achievement;

Streaky Breakin'

From here you will now need to finish off getting a total of 25 Supreme Victories, if you haven't already. A Supreme Victory is one where you have defeated you opponent without loosing your first green health bar. With two controllers you can either finish it off on random maps, or head to Sky again and knock your opponent off the edge for quicker victories. Against AI, just make sure they are set to Very Easy as well as all the other settings so that they will give you the least grief possible. With the combos we've been using thus far, it isn't odd to finish a fight against the AI without it getting a single hit in. After a lifetime total of 25 you will unlock the following achievement;

From here, head into Practice mode and select Sabrewulf again. We are going to doing Master (or above) combos here, as we need a lifetime total of 25. A master combo is a combo with at least 7 moves in it. We will be using a slightly longer variation of a move we have already been using, as follows;

cn_left,cn_right,cn_Y,cn_X,cn_left,cn_right,cn_Y,cn_X

As this is a repeating pattern, I found once I started to get the timing right I would just keep doing the pattern over and over. As the commands you enter appear on the bottom of the screen, use this as a good reference as to whether you are timing it right or not. In the games language, it should appear as follows;

<-,->,MP,QP,<-,->,MP,QP

If you're well experienced in fighter games you will probably have this done in 5 minutes, but it could easily take you half an hour if this is your first. After a total of 25 you will unlock the following achievement;

C-c-combo breaker!

High chances are you have already done a combo breaker and have this achievement, but if you haven't we'll try set up a scenario in which it will happen. Head into the Options tab again and change the difficulty to very hard. This makes your opponents much more likely to start a combo. Head into Arcade mode again and select our favourite Sabrewulf. As the enemy starts their combo, you want to retaliate with the following;

cn_left,cn_right,cn_B

If you don't feel confident in knowing when to do the attack, just spam it over and over and you will quite likely get this within a few games, if not your first. Once you break and enemy combo you will unlock the following achievement;

Blast Corps

Welcome to Blast Corps! We'll get straight into it with a road map to how we're going to tackle this game.

  1. Complete all main missions, getting gold in each as we go and finding the 6 scientists.
  2. Complete all bonus missions to gold.
  3. With them now unlocked, complete the last bonus missions on the other planets.
  4. With it now unlocked, get gold for the time trials for each main mission.
  5. With it now unlocked, get one platinum.

After finishing step 5 you'll have completed all achievements for the game. As you do the main missions, as soon as the path is clear for the truck go finish the level by getting in the yellow truck at the end. The reason for this is although the time trials are not unlocked yet, once they do unlock the time you set now will get retroactively put onto them. If you're fast enough, you can almost skip out step 4 entirely by doing this. I wouldn't suggest overly worrying about it, but every level you don't have to do twice is a nice bonus. Once done, head back into the missions to finish destroying every building, find every RDU (Red light on the ground) and bonus level beacon. Note for the bonus beacons, you will know if you have missed one in a level as it will have a green outline instead of red. As well as this, we will be finding the 6 scientists hidden in 6 of the main missions.

For the walkthrough, I will list every main mission with either points of interest or locations of hidden objects, although I will be putting a bit more detail into the earlier levels. I will always refer to the direction the truck is going as North, for a point of reference, as there will be times when you will want to change your camera angle. After the main missions I will list off the side missions with some tips for doing them, although quite a few of them do just come down to practice. The game itself gives you a very good tutorial at the start so I won't go through those details, and for the most part most levels are pretty self-explanatory in what to do for the primary objective. You also do not need to follow my order, as the game does give you a bit of freedom as to what level to do next. If you're struggling with one, feel free to go do another one and come back to it later. After finishing the first level, you will automatically unlock three bonus levels related to three of the vehicles, you are required to do these to unlock further main missions. In the end you will need to get gold with these, but it is not required right now. With all that said, let's get into it!

As soon as you get into the game you will unlock the following achievement;

Force Feedback

Main Missions

Easy Levels

Simian Acres

Follow the tutorials and the primary mission will be done in no time. Remember to get out of your Ramdozer (cn_Y) and into the yellow truck at the end as soon as you have finished! All the buildings and RDU's in this mission are along the roads, so simply go along driving over every RDU you see and destroying every building. To check how much more you have to find, you can always press cn_start and go to 'View Stats' to see what is left, although note it will tell you once you have hit 100% in any particular item. As a bonus on this level, you may notice a train at the start with a muscle car on it. Get out of your Ramdozer and into the train, then drive it forward to the lading bay (The game will give you a train tutorial here to watch for the smiley face in the top right corner, without this you can't load/unload a train). Once at the loading bay, get out of the train and into the car. Doing so unlocks the car for the bonus levels, although there is a much better one we will get later for the races. Once you've got 100% for the level, leave via the yellow truck. You must leave by this truck every time you do something in a level, otherwise it will not save your progress.

From here do the three bonus/tutorial missions to unlock more main missions here. Although gold is not required, I do heavily suggest you try for it as the more practice you get with the vehicles the easier the game becomes, especially later on, and especially with the Backlash!

Blackridge Works

Everything is easy to find on this level as well, as they're all along the roads. This is the first level that you find some bonus beacons, with two of them to be found. There is also a new vehicle to be toyed with, the Cyclone suit. This vehicle is an exoskeleton that does flips through buildings, you won't get to use it much over the course of the game however. Remember to head towards the yellow line on the radar to find the finishing truck if you don't know where it is!

Carrick Point

For the main objective, quickly head around the water to beat the missile truck to the other side and start clearing the path. Note the bottom left arrow on the screen, as you can save yourself a bit of time by only destroying the bare minimum of each building that is in the way. After you've cleared the path, leave the level and come back to finish it off. Head over the bridge the missile truck used to find a beacon in the middle, then over the second bridge head left/west to find a new vehicle at the end of the pier. This is the Ballista, you will see three black ammo boxes next to it as well. Get into it, and head back up to the east side of the water to find a boat sitting in the edge of it. Using cn_X to shoot your missiles, you need to destroy this boat as it counts as a building. You have a very limited amount of shots, so make sure they're landing on it before firing them all off! After you've done this, head north from where you are to find another new vehicle, the Thunderfist. For some unknown reason this vehicle only has one arm, although it doesn't affect it as it uses its good arm to uppercut buildings very easily. Just to the east of this is a castle on a hill, destroy this to find the second beacon in the level. From here, just scout the level to destroy everything you see and run over all the RDU's. In the south east corner of the map there are some metal plates on the ground you will need to destroy, otherwise there is nothing else hidden away.

Havoc District

This level is an absolute pain if you're trying to find everything by yourself. Using the Skyfall quickly race straight over the bridges and over a hill to find the J-bomb, use this to clear the way. Once you're back in the level, head back to the J-bomb as we'll do almost the whole level in this. From the main structures, head East to find a beacon up on the cliff side. From here head south back to the red bridge the missile carrier starts on, to find four shining lights on the top of it. You only need to touch these to destroy them, so line up your shadow above them and just let gravity let you land on them. With these gone, you'll now want to destroy the boat here. You can't activate the fall above it (As you can't land in water), so coming from the north stay up high and activate the fall just before your shadow leaves the dock. The momentum will cause you to land on the boat, do this twice to destroy it. On the south side of the bridge is the Ballista, get into this and go down the hill to see a big silver ball under the bridge. Use the rockets to destroy this, then get back into your J-Bomb. From the south side of the red bridge, where the supports touch the ground, head directly west over the water to find an island with the second beacon. From here head directly north, where you will find 9 RDU's in a group on the pier. After getting these, head west over the water to find an island with a lighthouse and some more RDU's. From here head exactly north-west, to find 5 of those giant silver ball things bouncing on the water. Land on them to destroy them, then head into town to both destroy everything you haven't already and get all the RDU's until the statistics tells you you have 91% of the RDU's. Once you've achieved this, head back west to the edge of the land and follow it north all the way up up to the highest ledge. You may notice to your west is a glass structure in the water, we will be heading into this. On the very high ledge, you will notice a dark green patch of grass. Walk over this to fall into it, then head through the tunnel to the red car. Get in it and head through the exit tunnel to get the last RDU's for the level, then just head to the exit truck to be done!

Argent Towers

Welcome to the first real test with the Backlash! No, there is no easy way to use it. Some people find hitting the brakes for a split second before going in to a slide helps, so if you're struggling you could give that a go. Really it is a bout learning the physics an the angles, that comes with nothing but practice. Otherwise just ramming into a building will eventually destroy it. If you ever see a dirt pile next to a building, go over it! If you are in the air when you hit something you will instantly destroy it. Once you've done the main mission head back into the level. From where you start go forward a little bit on just to your west on the side of the road will be a beacon. Head east until you come to a street going north, then follow it to a couple of buildings you need to destroy. After destroying them, head west until you come up to the edge of the map. Head south from here to find a stone block on the road, push this out of the way then get out of your vehicle to walk down the ramp you just cleared. Down here, get into the Ramdozer and push the TNT into the door. With that open, walk through the doorway to get into a train. Go forwards, paying attention to the north of the screen for a shining light. Stop in line with this, and press cn_Y to get out of your train. Your character will automatically walk west, continue that way until you get into the police car. With the small maze here, head in a northwest corner direction, then to the southwest corner to find Scientist #1. Head back through the maze to the train and continue heading north to the next opening. Get out of the train and into the Ballista, pick up the ammo and head back to the buildings I sent you to destroy earlier in the Backlash. In the little area here you can only get to as a civilian, is a doorway on the east side you need to destroy with the Ballistas rockets. Walk through the tunnel here to the J-bomb, use this to destroy the buildings you may have noticed on as platform, and a beacon a bit further south. That shining light we used while we were in the train as a point of reference also needs to be destroyed using the J-bomb as it counts as a building.

Medium Levels

Echo Marches

After destroying the first few buildings, head northeast over a hill and to a railway with a train on it. Park your J-bomb here and take the train west until you see the smiley face, then get in to the car on the train and drive back to your J-bomb. After clearing a few office buildings, you have to now move a boat into the missile carriers path. This time the boat is located down river to the southwest, I suggest parking your J-bomb onto it so that you take it with you. A few buildings later and you'll be done with the primary mission. Destroy all the buildings along the main road whilst collecting the RDU's. Where the boat is parked you will find a shipyard of buildings, and a beacon that you will collect when you destroy the red tanker. Head south from here to find a large collection of RDU's on the ground. From where you move the boat to for the missile carrier, you will see a faint dirt path on the ground heading northeast. This leads to a very high pillar that has the last beacon on top of it.

Beeton Tracks

Very easy mission, and is actually the mission I suggest later to get a platinum medal on. Drive the train all the way to the end until you have the smiley face, then get out and run around the building to the Ramdozer. Destroy the only building here (Not there is a red barricade here you must destroy to gold the level later, easy to miss!) and then park on the crane's lift. Get out of the Ramdozer and into the crane to land it on the opposite side of the tracks. Head out now over the over-bridge just to the south of your current location to get in the Ramdozer, and push the TNT on the back of the train into the train station. Done! Once in again, head back to the Ramdozer like we did first time then head south down this side of the tracks to the police car near the last buildings. Get into the police car, then head over to the opposite side of the tracks to find RDU's in what I'm guessing is a quarry. Using a grid-like pattern is probably the best way to ensure you don't miss one in the middle. You will also find a beacon all the way down to the south on this side.

Tempest City

For the Ballista, I find going slowly is the best method. Take a little bit of time to take your shots, and stop moving as soon as you are aligned up. If you try shooting everything while racing around you just end up bouncing off everything and it becomes a horrible mess! Make sure to collect the ammo boxes on your way north as well, although if you do get to the end and are a few missiles short you can always just ram the last segments out of the way. Once back in, destroy what remains and collect all the RDU's. Once you've seemingly got everything here, head east to find three ammo boxes against a bit stone block. Shoot a large amount of rockets into this to destroy it, revealing a ramp up. Drive up the ramp to find a beacon up here, and a scientist behind a whole bunch of little stone blocks. These count as buildings to destroy, so destroy them all and save Scientist #2.

Outland Farm

Another fantastic Backlash level, this time with an annoying entrance that just takes time. Once you get to the first buildings you must destroy, between the two story house and the green funnels is a dirt pile you can use to get air, you can use this to clear the building in one go if you're lucky. You only need to destroy the west most funnel as well. For the houses later, stay on the dirt as it gives you much more speed for fast slides through them. Remember to just continually ram into something if you think it will be faster than trying to line up a slide! Back in the level again now, about halfway around the trench at the most eastern part head directly west to find a hidden beacon and RDU's. Once you get out of the trench, head south over the bridge where the missile carrier spawned to find a second beacon much like the first. From here just edge around all the roads and dirt to find the last RDU's and buildings and finish up the level.

Ebony Coast

This level is a pain, there is little room for error. As quickly as possible, park your Ramdozer onto the train carriage parallel with the carriage. This isn't easy as you bounce around if you hit the train! Once done, get out and drive the train all the way to the end smiley face. Get out and into your Ramdozer again, and head down the road to the buildings you will need to destroy. Here, you must push the TNT into the buildings to destroy them. Always try to hit the TNT in the middle of the building, to destroy the left and right side at the same time. An important note as well is that there isn't enough TNT at the end, as at the start push as many early TNT's as you can to make sure there will be enough (You can press start at any time and then use cn_Y to see the rocket carriers path, use this to count out how much TNT will be left for you at the end to make sure there will be enough). With the last building destroyed finish and re-enter the level.

At the start, turn around to destroy a stone block with the TNT right next to it. Then get back onto the train and head over the the other train stop (With your Ramdozer on it!). At the train station, keep ramming (With speed) the two green pillars holding up the glass ceiling. Ignore the guy telling you he doesn't think it isn't a very good idea, it works! Once they're both gone the building will collapse. You'll now see a TNT in a small alcove, destroy this alcove in the same way (If you accidentally hit the TNT, just use it to finish of the building then finish/start the level again). Once the TNT is free, carefully push it onto the train carriage and train it all the way back to the start, past the stone block we destroyed. You will see a stone statue here, park the TNT next to it to explode it an reveal the J-bomb. With the J-bomb, head east over the mountain right here to where the missile carrier spawned. Pick up the RDU's here, then head east again down hill to find a beacon. Head over the water here and follow it until you see a little overpass to the north, just past this is Scientist #3. Next head all the way down the path the missile carrier took to get all the RDU's on its path, make sure to get the ones on the bridge as well. From where you destroyed the buildings with the TNT, head west over the water to find an island with three head statues and the last RDU's. Upon finishing this level to gold you will unlock the following achievement;

Easter Eggheads

Blast Corps: Cause $30,000,000 of damage in a single stage.

Ironstone Mine

Hardest part of this level is just driving your vehicle between the buildings. You want to go between them so take out both sides in one go, but if you're fast enough you don't actually need to do this. After you're past the second set of perfectly set up buildings, you'll come up to a new area with the Thunderfist trapped inside some buildings. Destroy them to get to it, then use it to finish the level. Once you start up again, head back up through the level destroying all the buildings and collecting all the RDU's. The buildings behind the train can be destroyed as well. Once you've made your way up here, head east to the cliff wall and continue south until you come up to a ramp that you can't drive up. Get out and walk up here to get into the Ramdozer. Continue along the cliff edge here, making sure not to fall off until you get to the crane. Get onto the lift, then using the crane move it over to the other side. After setting it down over there, get out of the crane and make your way over to it. Using the Ramdozer push the TNT into the big destructible crane here, then head into the cave. In here, go around the area collecting the last of the RDU's and Scientist #4.

Shuttle Gully

Note: You must complete the bonus mission Skyfall to unlock this mission.

The mission here expects you to do something similar to what we did in Skyfall, however apart from the first few buildings with dirt jumps next to them you can just use the Skyfall's boost ability. While ramming the building like normal, wait for the boost to charge to at least half way and then use it (cn_X) to blast through a portion or two. I successfully did the time-trial on this level using this method, so it is more than enough! Back in the level, immediately head east to find 4 big silver balls you must jump up to. After destroying these, head back to the start and follow the RDU's on the ground back through the level destroying any buildings along the way. Note there is a beacon under the bridge that crosses the trench, and there is an RDU you can't see that will activate when you cross the bridge. At the end where the finishing truck is, head east to find another single silver ball you must jump up to. After this, head west to the other side of the map to find 50 RDU's grouped together.

Cromlech Court

Note: You must complete the bonus mission Thunderfist to unlock this mission.

This is almost a free level, as it is really easy and every is located around the roads. Just remember that the Thunderfist needs a bit of space to initiate its attack and you're set to go!

Hard Levels

Obsidian Mile

Much like Cromlech Court, this level is pretty much just another free one. The level is Argent Towers again, just without the extra stuff and with the relatively easy Cyclone Suit.

Crystal Rift

Another level with the Skyfall, the same method I mentioned for Shuttle Gully will work here of using your boost to destroy the buildings. Do it in haste however, as after you've made it past the building segment you will need to quickly get into the Ramdozer and push some blocks into the holes in the ground. Starting the level again now, immediately get out of the train and walk back south to find a beacon. Get back into the train now and head to the end to get into your skyfall, head all the ay down and back to the Ramdozer. Use this to destroy all the buildings here, they're all in the main stretch, whilst collecting all the RDU's. Once you've done the main stretch, head up the west wall to find about half way down it is a ramp heading back down to the main stretch. Head down this ramp to push a diamond block out of it, across the main stretch to a tunnel on the other side that just so happens to have a hole in the ground this block will fill. Go through here now and get into the van, this is the fastest vehicle in the game and you'll use it later to get gold on most of the races. Head back out the tunnel you used to get here, then head up the wall just here on the east side by heading south first. You'll find a line of RDU's up here, follow them all the way around to eventually come across the levels last beacon.

If you have been following the walkthrough to this point, the van will be your last vehicle for the following achievement;

Time to Get Movin'!

Blast Corps: Try out every vehicle over time.

Glory Crossing

This level is small and quite fast, depending purely on your current skill level with the Backlash. There is enough time to simply ram most of the buildings out of the way, you you will need to take out at least two buildings using the proper slide technique or you won't have enough time. Practice makes perfect! Once back into the level again, all the buildings and RDU's are located on the path to and around the little village. Once you have them all, head to where the finishing yellow truck is and go the direction is is pointing to find a cave leading to Scientist #5.

Ember Hamlet

As soon as the level starts, with the initial camera angle you will see a barn right in front of you (North east of you if you'd like). Go shoot this barn to reveal the Cyclone Suit, you will be able to take it from here! Apart from a few RDU's that are behind you when you start, there is nothing hidden on this level so just follow the streets around destroying everything. When you're in the Cyclone Suit there are a few places you can stand that will make the camera angle come very low, you can use this to your advantage to scan around for things you may have missed.

Angel City

Not a terribly hard level, depending on how well you can now control the Backlash. About half way through the level there will be some dirt lumps you can use to instantly destroy the buildings, I personally suggest using these in both directions to relatively easily take out this middle section. Pay careful attention to the arrow on the bottom of the screen as well, as many of the buildings here you only have to destroy one side of. For the collectibles, they are all located easily on the main and side roads here with no beacons to find.

Diamond Sands

This is the worst level for the Backlash. Fortunately for those not yet adept at using this vehicles sliding technique there is a method here that works almost every time to get you to victory. As soon as the level starts, head forward then under the under-pass (We want to be on the west side of the railway at the end of the level, thus the immediate transfer). Now if you're able to destroy all these buildings fast enough the intended way, then go ahead. If not, then aim your backlash so you are at a 45 degree angle between the building and the railway track. You will bounce off the building segment and eventually destroy it, as you slide towards the next one aim the Backlash a little more towards the rail and if you're lucky you will instantly destroy the next building piece. There are two halves to destroy on this side, once they're gone head back over to the other side and do the same again. The middle segment is another two buildings, so do the same again. Once you're in the third area, destroy the half of the one building here then head back over the the west side and destroy it there to (Ignore the giant building and TNT on the east side - the carrier won't hit it). Then, still on the west side, push the TNT into the building to blow it up and clear the way! All the collectibles are along either side of the railway here.

Here is a video of me using the above technique. Note that I did this in time-trial, so it ends as soon as the path is clear. You will need to cross over again and make your way to the escape truck.

Oyster Harbor

If you're able to, I suggest watching the video below the whole way through before starting this level, as there are a few places where if you do it wrong you will have to completely restart again, otherwise read the text guide through first. As soon as you starts, head over to the far corner and shoot over the cliff side to the conatiners near the Ramdozer. Don't worry about destroying them all, as soon as you have a good first shot at it get out and run down the ramp just here and into the Ramdozer. Use this to clear the containers from the missile carriers path, then head up north west to where you will find some TNT and a crane. Don't knock the TNT closest to the crane as you will be putting it onto it. Get out and get into the crane, turn it around 180 degrees and place it down again so that you can push the TNT onto it. Do so, then quickly get into the crane again and put the TNT down onto the metal barrier in the missile carriers way. Get back into the Ramdozer and head over the now clear path to find some holes in the ground you will need to fill. Push the first square block into the hole, but don't push the first diamond block. Smash the buildings to your east just here and you'll find a diamond shaped hole, use the aforementioned diamond block to fill this hole and travel down here. You will find two diamond blocks down here, push each one until they are in the 'hallway' so that as you leave you push both of them at the same time out. Using the blocks out here now continue filling the holes until you get to the last square, from here head north east to find a couple of big round red structures to blow up. Behind both of these is the last square. You only have to destroy the east side of the building here and we're done with this half.

Cross the first boat, head west and cross the second boat. Do this again to get onto the third boat, get into this one (With your Ramdozer on board) and move it all the way east until you get that happy face. Drive the Ramdozer south a bit then get out and cross the bridge just to the east of the loading ramp, and run down to the second boat to move it into place also. Get back into your Ramdozer and park it on the first boat. How you do this next bit depends on how fast you got to this point. Press start and have a look at where the missile carrier is, if it is up to the second square block then it is probably better you wait for it to cross the ferry first, otherwise if it is further back get into the ferry and head all the way west. At the end quickly get out and use your Ramdozer to push the TNT here onto the ferry and take it back to the original place. Now all you need to do is push the TNT all the way to the building at the end, being careful not to get it stuck in a corner somewhere (Or to not hit the missile carrier if it is over here).

Here is a video of the level being done.

Start the level up again, pick up the ammo with the ballista and head west then north all the way until this area stops. Looking over the edge here you should see some buildings that are on an elevated platform, you want to destroy these with your missiles. Once they're all gone go back around and head out into the Ramdozer. Destroy everything in this first area, making sure to get all the RDU's that are around the TNT. Instead over heading over the middle bridge, head west around the water following the RDU's. In the corner you will find two more big round red structures to blow up, then continue to follow the RDU's over to where that elevated platform is. Get out and go up it to activate the beacon up here, then get back into your Ramdozer. After making sure this middle area is clear you should be done with the collectibles for the level, although we still have a scientist to save. Line all the boats up again like we did for the missile carrier, and notice as you are doing the most northern one that there is a metal barrier in the way stopping you from heading any further east with it. You want to go get that TNT again and use it to blow this up. After doing so, head out that direction to find the last Scientist #6.

If you have done everything up to this point, you will unlock the all these following achievements;

Carrier Bagged

Blast Corps: Over time, clear a path for the carrier on every stage.

You will now get a little movie and the credits. It doesn't end here though! As you will now have to clear the path for a rocket ship that is coming in to landing.

Shuttle Clear

Don't panic when you start in the Backlash. Ignore all the buildings and just head north east to find a building off to the east of the road with TNT around it. Push the TNT into it to uncover the Thunderfist, then just use that do destroy every building on the island and be done with this level.

Bonus Missions

Remember that you must get gold in every bonus mission. If you can manage to do so, then finishing the last of the game off afterwards will be a breeze! I will list all the bonus missions, with some tips on how to achieve gold on some harder ones.

Sideswipe: Nothing difficult here, I find going a bit slower helps to make sure you hit every structure along the way.

J-Bomb: Another easy mission, try to make sure you go straight downwards to get all the way to the bottom of the structures.

Backlash: Unless you luck out, this will take you many many tries. The only real advice I can give here is to make sure you follow the arrows, as once you can get using them right the level becomes much easier.

Sleek Streets: Use the black van. The key is simply to clear the buildings section without hitting any, doing this gives you plenty of time to spare.

Kipling Plant: The key here is simply learning where the 6 structures are. The first 3 are where you start, two just to the north of you then one off the the east a little bit. The next three are in the facility to the south. Use your first run through to find them all, then come back with that knowledge to destroy them all in the time-limit.

Cooter Creek: Use the black van. What you want to do here is to take the tightest circles you can around the track over the grass. The trick with grass is to not accelerate as soon as you're on it, as you will continue to coast at full speed over it. Beacon: Head straight from the starting position to find a fake wall covering the road out, destroy the building out here to find the beacon.

Skerries: Use the black van. You can simply race around this simple track like normal and you will finish in time. If you'd like, there is a shortcut once you're back on the island you start one. If you turn the camera view as you cross the second bridge so you're looking at the first bridge as you hit the dirt track again you'll notice a bit of dirt next to the hill where grass should be. This is a fake wall that lets you skip the last little bit of this island.

Twilight Foundry: Use the Ramdozer. There isn't much wiggle room here, and most annoyingly some RDU's won't register properly as you drive over them. Even though you're in the Ramdozer, if you can help it don't hit buildings as this will slow you down. Work one section at a time corner by corner in a sort of clock-wise direction then finish in the middle.

Orion Plaza: I hope you've been practicing your pushing skills! Try not to hit too many TNT you don't need as you don't want them all blowing up before you finish. Otherwise it is just a matter of pushing a TNT into each of the six holes, just remember that driving full speed isn't necessary and can just make it harder.

Marine Quater: Use the black van. Just a simple circuit, nothing to this one.

Jade Plateau: Use the Ramdozer. After the first bridge there is a shortcut to your vehicles right through the hillside. After the second bridge, take an immediate right through some buildings to find yourself at the start again. Then just repeat another three times!

Salvage Wharf: Use the Ramdozer. Simply head around the wharf area, destroying every container. Head clockwise first, just getting what you can on the way until you come up to the end with two lonely containers. Then head counter-clockwise all the way back around hitting every container on the way.

Thunderfist: Everything is right here, so an easy level. I just walk into the small wooden crates to destroy them as you have plenty of spare time.

Skyfall: What you want to do here is boost over the edge and land between two of the containers. Then do the same for the last two. Otherwise you can use a mixture of boost and the ramps to just to small jumps into each one.

Morgan Hall: Even though we're not using the Backlash in its normal use, this level is still a pain as there is very little wiggle room. The only help I can offer here is to make sure the whole building is destroyed before you leave, and to make use the ability to continually ram a building to death if a part doesn't blow up.

Corvine Bluff: Use the black van. A simple race, nothing much to it other than watching your vehicle funnily bounce around. Beacon: From where you start head straight following the river up to a beacon.

Bison Ridge: Use the black van. A race very similar to the one that unlocks it, as you hit the jump going downward don't accelerate to make your way over the grass down here at full speed for a quick lap.

Cobalt Quarry: Use the black van. Easy race, just a bit different with the camera fixed in the middle.

Glander's Ranch: Use the black van. Quite a long race, when you're past the two big sand blocks on the ground you will see a spit arrow on the race track, one going forward and one splitting off to your vehicles left. Use this short-cut to save on that time.

Silver Junction: The only difficulty here is making sure you don't miss a box. They're all located fairly easy to find in the squares around here, so just systematically work your way around and you shouldn't miss any.

Moraine Chase: Use the black van. Follow the track around, and after passing three stone walls turn left onto the grassy area. Ignore the elevated sand here and continue until you come up to the track again (You'll recognise it by the way it ramps up). From here you don't want to follow the track, back instead head out to the grassy area again between the dead end sandy ramp and the race track. This leads backs to the track again, follow it around to the finish line and then just repeat a few more times. It may help to do a practice lap first to familiarize yourself with the shortcut.

Mica Park: I find the easiest way to use the rockets with this vehicle is to get a little bit of momentum then just steer to aim left and right at your targets. Speed just makes it much harder. Don't spam rockets either, as it isn't necessary and you will most likely run out before the end if you do so.

Falchion Field: Assuming you don't move your camera angle, head down and to the right a little bit #1. Follow the railway up and to the right to find #2. Then head left to find #3, then continue onward left to find #4 and #5 as well. After #5 head down to find #6.

Dark Heartland: You will have very few rockets on this level, so make sure you ration them carefully. With the staircases that are in front of the apartments I found it better just to ram them rather than try to hit them with a rocket. This level is made harder by the fixed camera, but with enough patience and ramming you will get it done.

Gibbon's Gate: If you are good at pac-man, this will be a breeze. Otherwise patience will be needed! The four yellow bulldozers will kill you and instantly fail the level if they touch you, so avoid them at all costs. They do have varying speeds and they will occasionally chase you. Don't worry too much about clearing out any specific area in one go, as you can always come back around when the bulldozers aren't all around you.

The next series of bonus missions use beacons to carry on from each other, starting with Geode Square.

Geode Square: Whenever these shiny objects move into you they will blow up, so use this tactic for all the ones you can't land on. Note that you don't have to slam them to destroy them, you can just let gravity land you on them to destroy them. All 10 of them are located just here so there is no searching required. Beacon: Follow the road going down to the right and you will find a barn next to it. The beacon is inside of it.

Lizard Island: Time to start putting your J-bomb skills to the test. Use your shadow! From the start head to the top right to find a shiny object on the right side of a mountain, then head to the left side to find another one. From here head to the top right to find a floating island you need to platform on. From here continue around the outskirt of the main island to find another floating island with a shiny object on it. Continue down and to the right to find a floating volcano with 4 shiny objects inside of it that you need to carefully land on. Just outside this to the bottom left is another moving platform you will need to land on. From here head left back onto the main island to find another volcano with one shiny object inside of it, then head downwards to find another moving platform to land on. Head to the left side of the main island now to find over the edge of it three moving platforms and a silver object to destroy. Beacon: You probably noticed this anyway, from the start head up and to the right over the mountain to find it on the grass over the other side.

Saline Watch: There are three rows of five of these little lights to land on. Remember that you don't need to slam them, so just take your time and carefully land on each one as you go through. A bit of patience and practice here makes this one not too hard. Beacon: Head straight up to the top corner to find it on an island.

Dagger Pass: Take your time with the timing! You don't have to rush like crazy through this, so don't. The first one is right in front of you, with the second one down to the right. Continue this way to find the third one, then head up the screen to find the fourth. Continue up to find the castle, continue past it up the cliff side to find the fifth one hidden up here. Head down from here to find number 6, then just follow the ground around to find seven and eight. Beacon: Inside the castle.

Magma Peak: Fair warning, this level may take you quite a few tries. Start by heading down and to the left and getting the moving platform here. Move upward to the next one, and then the next one. From here fly up to your right to find two silver objects right next to the magma wall. After destroying these head back down to destroy another moving platform here and then the bouncing silver object in the middle. Land where you started again, then hold cn_RT to fly all the way up. You want to aim for going above where those two silver objects that were on the wall are. Up at the very top of the volcano you'll find a platform with two lights to destroy, carefully destroy these then head anti-clockwise down the volcano destroying all the objects on the way. Beacon: Fly all the way up and out of the volcano then to the bottom right, you'll notice the beacon on a little grass platform outside the volcano.

Baboon Catacomb: More pac-man! Much the same as Gibbon's Gate, there isn't too much to it other than constantly being on the move and making sure you don't trap yourself between a couple of bulldozers. Remember to feel free to go around the whole map a couple of times, don't over fret about trying to clear it out section by section.

From here I will go through the planets. Moon is unlocked as soon as you finish the main story, but you will have to finish all bonus missions to unlock the next ones.

Moon: Because you loved the Backlash so much, you decided to bring it with you to the moon. You do actually have a little bit of time to clear this level, so you don't have to be perfect. I found it easier to completely stop every so often and aim up my slides again, as I would find myself just pointlessly sliding around in circles otherwise. Where ever you can, take advantage of places you can gain air to take out structures. The slippery ground makes it a bit easier than it would be.

Mercury: Just a rather regular race, the vehicle choice doesn't even matter. Just make sure you don't crash into the middle island to waste time.

Venus: Another horrible backlash level, although again you have three minutes to do it so it isn't too hard. Again make sure you take advantage of getting air, and just ramming something if you can't get it any other way.

Mars: I personally found this the most frustrating level in the game, the main reason being is that you really feel as if you have no control over the physics. Avoid the bulldozers in the middle as they will end the level. Otherwise it really comes down to practice of using the ramps and moving in mid-air. The faster you are going when you hit the ramps the higher you will fly, so use this to your advantage for hitting the higher ones.

Neptune: Another regular race, nothing much to it other than the usual instruction of not running into objects that will stop you in your tracks.

As long as you got at least bronze in every bonus mission, you will unlock the following achievement;

If you get gold in every mission, you will then unlock time-trial mode. If you were finishing the levels as quickly as possible during the main missions as I suggested you will have most if not all of these already completed, and will unlock the following achievement;

If you don't have the achievement don't worry as you only have to complete a few time-trials to get the required experience. Your goal now is to get gold on all the time-trials that you don't already have it on. As you have already done all the levels once before, I won't be guiding you through this. If you get stuck you could always look back at the specific level, but if you have managed to gold every bonus level then I highly doubt you will need any assistance with these as they are fairly easy.

Once you have completed all the time-trials to gold, you will then unlock Platinum mode. All you have to do here is achieve one platinum medal to be finished with the game. I personally think Beeton Tracks (From the first mission up and to the left) to be the easiest to platinum as there is very little that can go wrong. Otherwise just try powering through the first level Simian Acres. After achieving a platinum medal you will unlock the following achievement;

JFG

Welcome to Jet Force Gemini! Although this is a much bigger game than others in Rare Replay, it will only take you around 12-15 hours to complete it. Most of the time involved is in finding items, but that's what I've written this for! You effectively have two playthroughs, the first is a campaign playthrough. During this you will play as each of the three characters individually on their own paths to a central level. After completing this playthrough you will unlock free-play mode, where you will be able to return to any level as any character as well as having the jet-pack upgrade on each character.

To put it in a road-map for you;

  1. Complete the campaign playthrough as all three characters, saving bears on the way and collecting guns and weapon capacity upgrades (Makes the bosses much easier!)
  2. Start free play, where you will repeat most levels saving bears, collecting ship parts, finding more weapons, activating tribal totems and getting at least a bronze in the Floyd missions
  3. Get to and kill the final boss to finish!

As free play mode offers a bit of freedom, instead of forcing you to play the way I think you should I have instead hidden the information you need for all the levels for free play in spoiler tags. Before the spoiler tags you will find a small bit of information that will tell you what prerequisite you need to complete it. Use the search function on your device to simply find the planet or level you're on or wanting to do and open up the spoiler tags from there to complete them. In the menu, if you select the tribal bear icon it will take you to a screen showing you all the bears you have or haven't saved on your current level, you can scroll through this page to see this stat for all levels. It is a good check to see where you may have missed, but it doesn't tell you about other collectables like Totem Poles so you will still need to be vigilant in keeping track of what you have and haven't done.

Just a few notes about the game, whenever you start a level the bears will always all respawn. Because of this you must always collect all the tribal bears in a single playthrough of any particular level (I.e you can't save half one playthrough and half later, so for levels that you can't collect them all in the campaign playthrough I don't even mention them as it is just a waste of time). For the Floyd missions, you must get bronze or better on all of them before you do the final mission to unlock the achievement specific to completing all Floyd missions. If you do the final mission before doing so, you will need to go back and repeat it after getting your bronze awards (Note the SS Anubis mission requires gold, I go into depth about this when it comes along).

Collect ant heads! Killing ants with head shots and explosives causes their heads to fall off. You need to collect 300 of these in total for an achievement, if you are diligent about doing this you can have this easily just over half way through the game. Lastly the only achievement that requires you to do something not related to finishing the game is to request a song from a DJ, I talk about this when it comes up in the mission Ichor - Perimeter.

Before you load up the game, go in to the options and change the control scheme to modern. Otherwise you will have a hilarious time trying to figure out the controls! As soon as you get into the game you will unlock the following achievement:

Jet Force Gemini: Play the game for the first time.

Goldwood

Outset

After landing head forward and talk to Magnus. After his ramblings head into the next area. From here you want to do a rather sharp hairpin right, and into the cliff side. There will be an opening of sorts in the cliff edge, and in there to the right is a secret entrance to another area. In this area head left to pick up the few Mizar tokens here, and over to the opposite side of the pond to a chest that you open with cn_A. The chest will give you Fish Food, head onto the pier and change to the fish food with cn_left/cn_right and throw some into the pond with cn_RT. This will unlock the following achievement:

Shore Leave

Jet Force Gemini: Why not try feeding the fish?

Shore Leave
2 guidesOffline Game Mode - These achievements require play in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services.Single Player - These achievements can be obtained by a single player.

Don't waste all the fish food as we will be using it later. There will be some ammunition here that you may notice but can't pick up yet, you will come across this a bit in the early game as you play areas you will be coming back to later. Leave this area. Head into the giant hut in front of you to meet King Jeff. If you'd like read his conversation and then select 'Show me the invasion' to get a bit of the story. After finishing with him, you may notice some stairs in his hut. Head up these and jump over to a platform to get a Gemini capacity increase, these give you more health. After leaving the hut you will see a door off in the distance surrounded by a moat, we will come back here soon, but for now head right to Magnus pacing in front of a door. Here we learn about life force doors, basically you can't leave to the next area until all enemies in are dead in your current one. Once you've killed the three flying enemies here you'll see the light above the door turn green to tell you that you can advance, do so.

The game explains a bit here so pay attention. After the video head forward to find a blue ant on the left, the next turn after killing him look up to the end to see a sniper ant in a tree. Below him is Bear #1. After a turn or two you will come into the first village, kill all the ants here making sure not to shoot the bear in the middle of the huts. At the end of the village is a single sniper up in a tree. After killing them all (Remember you'll know because it will show you the life force doors turn green) go save Bears #2 and #3 that are in the middle of the two huts, one behind one of them. Behind the hut by itself is a pistol ammo upgrade as well. Head to the cave exit, the one on the right.

You'll probably immediately find yourself under attack here, kill all immediate enemies then head down the right path making sure not to fall down the hole the waterfall is going down. Shoot the land mines so they won't injure you. When you get to a fork in the road, head left to kill any enemies here until you end up at the start again. Turn back to the fork in the road and head the other way to find a mine at the end with the last Bears #4-7. Take out the ants here as quickly as possible as they will grenade the bears if you let them. After saving them, you will notice a big box in the middle of the area. Shoot this to uncover the yellow key card! Head back to the start of the cave, and fall down the hole with the waterfall here. Exit here, and as soon as the next area loads head up the giant stairs here to get another Gemini capacity increase. Don't cross the bridge here but instead head through the door, then run all the way back to the area with King Jeff to the yellow key card door I mentioned earlier.

There will be a purple Brute guarding here, but if you're standing so you can just shoot him he shouldn't be able to get any hits on you. After dealing with him head to the left to find a chest with the Shuriken weapon. These will hunt down any enemy you've targeted, and once they hit something you can go pick them up again. Head back into the Outset level again, and this time just focus on getting to the end over that bridge we ignored previously. If you didn't manage to save all 7 bears first time, now is a good time to try again. Skip the Lodge header as we will end up in Interior.

Interior

Run past all the different sorts of explosive barrels here until you come to a fork in the road, follow the pathway to the left to find Magnus at the end. Talk to him and make sure you ask him to give you the Red Key. Head back now until you see the slope in front of you heading up to a red key door, head through this. You will immediately be attacked by a rocket drone, just move left and right in time with his attacks while shooting him. Once he is down go open the chest behind him to get the Machine Gun. Don't bother trying to get the stuff on the side here, failing is instant death! Head back outside and down the slope again. Head the only direction you haven't been to a door with a mechanism on the wall next to it, use your machine gun on this until all 5 blue bits come out of it to activate it. The pistol is too slow, so you must use the machine gun. Head through the door and continue onward to the doorway to the next area, this is the start of the next level.

Immediately in front of you will be a machine gun ammo upgrade, and a few ants to kill. Watch out for Bear #1 at the end of the hairpin here, and collect him once it's safe to do so. Up next will be a destroyed village with quite a few blue ants and a couple of snipers. At the end of this area is another rocket drone, again strafe in time to avoid his attacks. Before you leave, you may have noticed Bear #2 on top of one of the broken huts. Can be a bit of a pain to get, you have to jump onto the broken edge low enough for you then carefully walk up to him, I suggest walking with cn_LT held for a more accurate walk. On to the next area, immediately above you will be a sniper ant and there will be a few blue ants running around at our level as well. After dispatching of them, there will be another pistol capacity upgrade just ahead. Carefully walk forward here as a whole bunch of flying enemies will spawn, just make sure you keep moving at all times to make it harder for them to hit you. Ignore the giant chasm you'll see here (We come back here much later) and continue onward, until you see a giant swarm of enemies. Not actually very easy, try to dispatch of them as fast as possible to minimise their firing power. After they are all gone, along with the sniper above the door, collect the health here and ammo before continuing to the next area.

Immediately kill the brown ant here, these guys hunt down the bears as soon as you are present. In this area will be Bears #3-6, as well as another machine gun upgrade in the middle. The next are has some more aggressive flying enemies, immediately run forward to pick up the invincibility here and take out as much as you can before it wears off. After finishing theses guys off, the boxes to the left of the door has the last Bears #7-9 behind them. Exit out the door here to be done with interior, for now at least. Head down to the SS Anubis!

Depository

As soon as you are in control, head right then right again to see come crates in the corner. Jump up them and continue up until you come across a chest with the Plasma Shotgun. We will go on a little side mission here, so continue past the chest and up the boxes to the next platform continue around, you will notice a fuel pad on the ground that we will use much later in the game. Go through the yellow key card door here, then from here turn right and into the corner, where you may notice a power cell on the wall. Shoot this for later, then continue around to the door here to skip forward to the Depository level. This area is a bit of a maze, the easiest way to explain it is to imagine a backwards S (Ƨ). You are in the bottom right, and there are doors in the top right and top left of the area. The top right door leads to the next area, so for now you want to head to the very top left of the area. Here will be a door that will leading to a room with a brown ant you must immediately kill before it can kill any bears. Bears #1-5 are in this room (If you can't find them all, leave the room and come back in as they can get stuck inside crates after running away from the brown ant). Head back out now and back to that first door in the top right of the main area. You will now be in a holding bay for your ship, Bears #6-12 will be around the outside behind, on and just generally around the crates here. Bear #13 is in a corner the same level as your ship, and Bear #14 is out the back of your ship almost falling out the SS Anubis. Just make sure you don't walk into your ship as it will teleport you to the next level! Once you've got them all, walk into your ship to be taken to another bonus planet.

Walkway - Peak

Follow the rather obvious path up, kill the few ants here and continue inside. Here you will find a chest with the Homing Missiles. We will be coming back here later to save the bears. Get back into your ship and you will find yourself back at the start of the SS Anubis.

Return here as Juno with the Jetpak (You can fly directly here) to save some bears and get a Totem Pole;

Hold

Jump up left here to get a couple of capacity upgrades, and up higher to find a Gemini upgrade. Drop down and talk to Magnus (Who is somehow ahead of us again...) who will show you a cut-scene of Vela being taken. Continue through the door here and dispatch of the blue and sniper ants, there is a brute here who is down in a pit, as tempting as it is don't use anything explosive on him as Bears #1 and #2 are down there right next to him. If you didn't destroy the Power Cell #1 I mentioned earlier, stand in the exit door, turn around and look up and left at the level of the higher platform. You will see it on the wall. Go through the door now and immediately to your left is Power Cell #2. Kill the blue ants in this area, note that some flying enemies will appear in the center that you don't have to kill. Next to the exit door is another capacity upgrade, head through it once you can. To your right will be a few drones, and Power Cell #3 in the corner. Bear #3 is also here on top of some crates. Above the central pit you will notice a platform going around it, jump on this to get to the other side. There will be a couple of blue ants here. Once at the exit, don't go through it but instead turn around and walk over to the pit. Look down to find Power Cell #4. Turn around immediately and look up to find Power Cell #5. Head through the exit now.

Where you start in this room, up and to your right is Power Cell #6. Best to deal with the snipers and blue ants here first though! Once they have been dealt with and you've killed a wave of flying enemies, head up the left side. On the wall half way up you'll find Power Cell #7, make sure you don't fall down in front of it though as there is a landmine here! Continue up to the top, some flying enemies will spawn. Kill them from here to unlock the lifeforce door, then destroy the giant glass window here. Pick up the Gemini capacity upgrade and continue through the doorway here. Continue around until you get to the second floor of the area with the big chasm in the middle of it. Carefully make your way across, and on the other side head left to unlock your first Totem Pole. Now head right and into the doorway here. In this passageway are cockroaches, use fish food to make them scurry and get out of your way. At the end of this area is a chest with Cluster Bombs, as well as a few Mizar coins. Remember this area as we will be coming back here for a Floyd challenge later. Head back out to the totem pole and drop off instead of making your way back around (It only hurts you one health to drop). Head through the door here and then through the next door to the cell room. Immediately to your left is the last Power Cell #8 and it will open the cell right next to it. Go through all the cells and save the Bears #4-10, then go save Vela (Who for some reason didn't escape as soon as the cell door went down). Exit this area and get into your ship.

Bog

Note: You cannot save all the bears here in this run through, although I will mention the location of a few for future reference. Ignore the big zombie things in the first area and quickly make your way through the doorway. In this area there is ammo for pretty much every weapon we have so far, use explosives to blow up all the zombie ants in this area to unlock the lifeforce door. Head through it, immediately on your left will be a Gemini capacity upgrade. In the middle of this area are Bears #1 and #2. There is nothing else to do here, so head back to the open area then through the exit that wasn't the lifeforce door. Through here you'll find King Jeff, make sure you pick his first option to get the Tri-Rockets. Pick 'Show me what happened' if you'd like to see a story cut-scene of how everything was zombified. To your right here is a crypt, explode the door to find Bears #3 and #4 in here. Outside again head into the next crypt here to find a chest inside containing Grenades. Head into the last crypt here to find a couple of Tri-rocket capacity upgrades. Outside again, if you scale the broken church you will find Bear #5 up here. In the middle of this rubble patch is a trap-door we can't open until we have the crow-bar, but down here are the last bears! Otherwise head out the exit to this church area to finish the level.

Return to this level as Juno with the Crowbar to save the bears;

Bridge

Directly in front of us is a weapon capacity upgrade, and you will notice another one in the water. Head out to it then come back as we are going to go up the construction here. For this part, I suggest you just run. On the first platform is Bear #1, on the second platform is a capacity upgrade and Bears #2 and #3, and on the last platform is Bear #4. Up on this last one in the corner you will notice an irregular piece of wood, stand on it as it is a lift back down to the bottom right by the exit to this area. Immediately to your right here is an invincibility, pick it up and deal with the pesky flying enemies here. Once they are gone, as well as the zombie ants here, continue onward killing everything that crops up. Just before the lifeforce door a small army of flying enemies will spawn, just note there is a invincibility just by the tree here that you can use to make this part much easier. When you can, head through the door. The ants in this area can be killed like normal. Here you want to head to the tree in the center of the area, and climb up a couple of branches to find a pair of pants held up by some sticks. Collect this then leave this area through the exit on the opposite side.

Head to the left side of the structure to jump up it, keep heading up onto the wall to get a weapon capacity upgrade. Now head to the big building with the big entrance to the right, collect all of the stuff around the edges here then go talk to Gimlet. Give him those pants we collected earlier to receive the crowbar! We can now open trapdoors. Head outside, and to your right is a wall-like structure with a glowing item on top of it. Use those platforming skills again to climb up there and get it. Now on the opposite side of where you are will be another building with something on top of it, ignore this for now and head around the back of it to find a door you will need to blow up. Head inside and open the chest here to get Flares. Before you go down the trapdoor here, use a flare behind the chest to see some platforms you can jump up. Head up here to find a sniper capacity upgrade we can't pick up yet, but more importantly, Bears #5 and #6. Now head down the trap door, and at the end you will find another glowing component to pick up and Bear #7. Head back outside now and to the right side of the church. Enter the doorway here to find an ant who will surrender, Bear #8 and a chest with the Sniper Rifle. Head outside again and to the back right of the church you will see a way you can jump up, climb up there and jump into the chimney to end up in the sewers again. Head forward from where you land (The left of the three tunnels if you lose direction) and in the tunnel you will see a coffin-like black thing on the wall here. Blow it up, then use cn_B to crawl through the hole here to get Bears #9 and #10 as well as a few capacity upgrades. Head back out of this small area now and continue around the tunnel. You'll come up to a platform with Bears #11 and #12, as well as the third glowing component. You will see two more black coffin-like things here, blow them up to reveal another tunnel you can crawl through to get Remote Mines. Head out of this sewer now out the only tunnel you haven't taken to end up outside again. Head up the building with the something on top of it, this is Floyd. Watch his little cut-scene, then press cn_A give him his three components we just to happened to have conveniently already collected for him. With Floyd now part of the team you can play co-cooperatively with a second controller. Leave out the exit here to be done with this level.

Castle

This level starts with a big battle, I suggest running forward to the draw bridge so that you only have the flying enemies to deal with. After they're gone, move to a position so that you can start to take out the big guys on the towers, as well as the zombie ants above the draw bridge. There is a lot of health a round here, and full ammo for most weapons. After you've killed everything head inside. Immediately to your left here is another weapon capacity upgrade, otherwise just kill everything in this area to unlock the next lifeforce door. In this next area, after killing a few ants you'll come across a new enemy, shielded blue ants. They're just like the normal blue ants, just carrying shields (Who would have guessed?). After the lifeforce door after these you will find yourself in water, continue forward to pick up a capacity upgrade on a ledge. Once you have it, ignore the enemies here and head back to the water and follow the tunnel around. After you transition to a new area right in front of you now will be Bear #1. Continue forward following the water and you'll come across a ledge with a Gemini capacity increase on it. In this area you will now face blue ants with even bigger shields than the ones previously. Don't throw anything at their shield, as they are totally invincible to frontward attacks when they're holding it up. Around the corner you'll find a couple of snipers, between them are Bears #2 and #3. Continue around, and as you come up against another couple of snipers you'll also fin Bears #4 and #5 here. Ignore the lifeforce door and continue to a room with giant pillars, turn right to find the final Bear #6 down here. After saving this guy head into the previous lifeforce door. Full health gems and lots of max ammo crates? Get ready for a boss! stand on the white circle to initiate it.

The bosses in this game don't have health, they have phases where each one will have a different vulnerable spot for you to destroy before starting up the next phase. Here we will be fighting the giant exobeetle. The Tri-rocket and Homing Rockets are your weapons of choice here, followed up by the machine gun if you run out of ammo for them. His primary attack is a shockwave attack, simply jump over it. Make sure you avoid this, as it does a whole ring of damage!

Phase One: Here it shoots bats at you, move left and right to dodge them. You want to shoot his fangs as they sparkle, you'll notice only one will sparkle at a time, it will always alternate between the two.

Phase Two: Here it shoots rockets at you, again just dodge them like normal. You want to shoot his feelers when they sparkle, same as before.

Phase Three: Here it'll fire a giant shock at you, make sure you dodge this! It's weak spot is its head, just spam Tri-rockets into it to finish it off!

After watching it horrifically explode, when you're in control again you'll be in the final area of this level. Just run up to your ship to be done with this planet!

Mizar's Palace - Lobby

This level has three separate versions for each character, we're obviously doing Juno's now. Head down the tunnel in front of you until you get to a big shiny courtyard, kill the handful of blue ants here and head into the temple to start the level. Immediately turn right to find a weapon capacity upgrade, then go all the way to the end of this section. Head through the right door, you'll encounter quite a fight here with shielded blue ants, a couple of missile brutes and some flying enemies. Once they're gone head up the slope and into the next area to find health, coins, and capacity upgrade and Bears #1-3. Head back out to the main hall now and into the door on the left. Another easier fight is in here, with just a handful of shielded blue ants and flying enemies. Immediately to your left are Bears #4 and #5. Head into the lifeforce door at the end to collects some coins as well as a few capacity upgrades. Now head back out into the main hall, and here you've going to fall into a hole under the flame the is in the middle on the left (As if you're looking at the hall from the entrance). Here you will now be in a maze, use the picture below to find your way around. It has the location of Bears #6-14 marked on it as well as a Totem Pole, and in the last lava room Juno can just walk through the lava.

Mizars Palace Maze Map

Mizar's Palace - Floyd Mission

Here is a mandatory Floyd mission. From where we start head into the right corner to find a black Floyd pad on the ground, instead of using it turn around again and face the spinning rings. As Floyd you are going to need to collect three pyramid icons, and to explain them from where we're standing now,

  1. To your right, in a window of sorts in the corner of the map.
  2. Straight ahead in the middle of the spinning rings.
  3. Keep looking forward to the corner of the map, on a ledge.

Behind #3 is the tunnel you will need to enter after collecting all three icons. Once you know where you'll be going, jump onto the Floyd panel and press cn_A to initiate the Floyd mission. As you, you use cn_A to go forwards, cn_B to go backwards and cn_RT to shoot. Collect all three icons and head into that last tunnel to be done with the mission. After the cut-scene, head into Juno's door to watch another short cut-scene. For now, we're completely finished with Juno! On to Vela!

Sekhmet

Battle Cruiser

Note: You need to be Juno with the jetpack to collect all of the bears in this level, I won't mention there locations as you have to run through the whole level again anyway. As soon as the level starts you'll be greeted by Midge. After talking with him, around the outside of this landing pad is a capacity upgrade and a chest containing Grenades. Head up and go through the left door. Kill all the ants in this room so that both lifeforce doors open, then head through the one closest to where we came in. Immediately turn right for a Gemini increase, then head to the end to get the Machine Gun. Head back out to the big room, and head for the other lifeforce door. Straight ahead of you in this area you will see a door with another one of those mechanisms that require you to shoot at it with the machine gun to open, do so and head through the door. At the end of this hallway are a few big shielded ants, throw a couple of grenades at them then head through the door behind them. In this room you'll meet Fishface, talk to him and pick the top option at the end to get the Red Key. In this room you'll also find a capacity increase and a chest containing the Plasma Shotgun. Now head back to the room with that machine gun mechanism, if you didn't earlier then kill everything in here and head through the lifeforce door that opens. There will be a small army of ants and flying enemies here, kill them all to unlock the exit.

This next room is the lava room, carefully make your way across to the other side to the exit. Note that flying enemies will fly down to shoot you as you cross here. In this next room head up the moving platform, being sure to jump the gaps and head through the tunnel at the top. In this second room, time your movements to make sure you get onto the moving platforms as you don't want to fall off and have to start again. Head through another blue tunnel to end up in a third platform room. Down on the ground floor here is a capacity upgrade, after picking it up head to the exit. In this next room you'll find a whole bunch of the annoying flying enemies, quickly kill them then head through the exit here. In the next room, shoot the glass floor to get the capacity upgrade here and in the chest the Green Key. Exit this room and immediately turn right to find a Gemini upgrade. This is a U shaped room, head around to the exit on the opposite side to find yourself in the starting area. Head through the central green key door here and use grenades to kill as many of the shielded ants as possible. The lifeforce door will open at the top of this room once you've killed them all, head up the long ramp to exit this area. Head into your ship now to be done with this level!

Cerulean

Dune

As soon as you start run around the back of the landing pad to find the first of three gold bars. Collect the two capacity upgrades here, then continue onward to kill the shielded blue ants here. Head through the door that unlocks and follow the wall around to the right, the last shield blue ant is usually here along with the second gold bar next to a frozen bit of water. Turn around and look out to the middle of this large area, and head towards the highest peak. Once up there you will see another stone-walled area ahead of you, to the left of that however is a sewer outlet (You may not be able to see it depending on the angle, but it is there!). Head to this to get the third gold bar, then head back to the second lifeforce door that opened earlier. In here is a Gemini upgrade, as well as Fishface. He will trade you those three gold bars for the Tri-Rockets. Now head out to that stone-walled area we ignored earlier all the way on the opposite side of the big field. Head through the tunnel here to enter a room with the Yellow key, Bears #1-6, and a Totem Pole. Head into the next room and kill all the flying enemies here to open the lifeforce door. Instead of going through it though, find a door that has no requirements and enter into it (You may accidentally go back a room instead). In here is a Gemini increase, and the Homing Rockets. Next head through the yellow key door for a capacity increase, then out the lifeforce door into the next area.

There will be a small fight here, after killing them all don't turn right but keep heading forwards. Kill the ants down here, and it will open a lifeforce door down the direction we didn't go earlier. Head down there, you'll come up to another fight. Around here is a yellow key door that will have some ammo and a capacity upgrade in it. Continue along the path following the same pattern, kill a bunch of ants, head into a yellow door for some goodies then head through the now unlocked lifeforce door. At a point you will see a door you can't go through to your right, continue onward until you get to a couple of brutes in a seemingly dead-end to unlock this one. Head back to it to find the exit of this area. Don't walk into your ship! Because behind it are Bears #7 and #8. Now you can walk into your ship to end the level!

Ichor

Military Base

Note: We must come back here as Lupus with the jetpack to collect all of the bears, so we'll be ignoring them this playthrough. At the start you will find a capacity upgrade behind you, after getting this deal with the shielded blue ants and the brute that are up ahead. Collect the goodies on the crates here and head through the door. In this big area, kill everything running around and the snipers in their towers. Once they're dealt with, jump onto the L shaped platform up here (Remember to stand still and hold cn_A for a big jump) and head through the door closest to the lifeforce door down below. Head through your first left to find two chests containing Flares and the Sniper Rifle. Head out of this area not through the door we came in through to find yourself in a big room with some blue ants running around below. Drop down here and kill them, then head out the lifeforce door here. In this next room you will immediately see a brute up on a platform, as well as a few shielded enemies running around below, we must kill everything in here. Up next to the brute is also a Gemini upgrade. Down the ramp at the end of this area are a few of those weird flying squid things, as well as a capacity upgrade, after getting this head through the lifeforce door.

Kill the big shielded ants in this room and the two snipers above, then head into the next room. In here stay on the bottom area and find the brute running around down here. Kill him, then head down the ramp down here to find another Gemini upgrade. Next jump up to the top level, to get past the moving platforms just spend a little bit of time to figure out their individual patterns before you run. Into the next room, this is a puzzle room. As you stand on the coloured pads, the floating platform of the same colour will move. Get off the pad to stop it moving.

  • Bring the yellow platform to you, jump over.
  • Bring the pink platform to you and jump over to get the capacity upgrade, then jump back.
  • Bring the red platform to you, then jump over.
  • Bring the pink platform to you, then jump over.
  • Bring the green platform over towards you so that it is between the middle pillar and the one with the computer looking thing on it.
  • Move the yellow platform as far away from where we are now so that is creates a bridge to the pillar with the bears.
  • Jump over to the middle pillar, and move the pink platform towards to wall by the exit.

You will now be able to jump over to the Bears #10-12, and then jump over to the exit. In this room will be a assassination brown ant, kill him so he doesn't kill any bears! On the ground level you'll find Bears #13 and #14. Use the jetpack fuel pad here to fly up and get the last Bears #15 and #16, one of which is above the exit door and another on one of the green platforms. Head through the exit on the ground floor here to outside. This area is linear, so continue along killing all the flying enemies and shielded ants you come across. When you get to the bridge, don't cross it! There are miniguns on each side, either take them out to simply swim around the side to avoid them. After killing the last ants here the lifeforce door should open, head through here to a room with a surplus of health and ammo. This should be an obvious hint to what is next! Here we'll be fighting a fat ant slug. Its main attack is to drop maggots that explode, make sure you move away from them as soon as you can.

Phase One: Here she shoots rockets at you, dodge these like normal. You want to shoot here claws up high when they sparkle, remember that the sparkle alternates between them.

Phase Two: She'll start to shoot lasers at you from now. Here you want to shoot here fat stomach to blow it up.

Phase Three: Here you want to shoot the metal parts off here arms.

Phase Four: Just shoot here until she dies!

Watch her explode and fall into the lava, and during this cut-scene you will see us meet up with Lupus. Even though we haven't played as him yet, you'll unlock the following achievement not long after gaining control again;

Mizar's Palace - Flume

We'll be starting off in the same place as Juno did, however instead of entering the temple we will swim down into the doorway underwater to the right of it. There are a few weapon capacity upgrades hidden in this maze here that you can go looking for if you feel like, otherwise from the start head right, and follow the path here that will lead you to a diamond shaped exit. In this room here you'll find Bears #1-4 to the right of the exit, save them then head through here. To your right and left up on the ledges here will be a couple of capacity upgrades and Bears #5 and #6. Head into the waterfall to be finished with Flume. The central pyramid might still be in place from doing this with Juno, if it isn't then simply do the Floyd mission again to get it there and head into Vela's door to be finished with her. Now on to Lupus!

Spawnship

Troop Carrier

Note: We must come back here as Vela with the Jetpack to save all the bears, so I'll save mentioning them for later! Before we get started, note that Lupus can hover by holding cn_A again once you're in the air. As this map can be quite confusing to explain, here is a picture of the general layout.

Spawnship Layout

This is a picture of the ground floor, if you ever fall down you will end up here! Otherwise as we continue through the level you will be on platforms and ramps above these rooms.

Open the two chests in this room to get the Machine Gun and Plasma Shotgun. There is a Gemini upgrade you can hover over to in this room as well, after getting all the goodies head onto the lift. Pick up the two capacity upgrades at the top, then continue through. We are now above the bottom left floor, for map reference. Kill the few flying enemies here then head to across the ramp to the next room. Kill the brute on the opposite side of the chasm, then go right for a couple of capacity upgrades. Head across the chasm (Remember to hover!) and through the door. Kill the ants here, pick up the capacity upgrade and get ready to cross the chasm to the other side. Before doing so, look down and to your left and you will see a hexagonal exit tunnel about half-way up the wall. Using the hover ability get into here to get a Totem Pole. After getting this you will now be on the bottom floor in the central room. Head into the middle room and down to the start area, where you will now be able to head all the way back to the second floor of the central room and cross over to the other side. Kill a couple of ants here to open the lifeforce door and head through it.

Kill the ants here and head through the lifeforce door that opens. There will be a brute in front of you and some flying enemies to your right, quickly kill them all then go get the Red Key that was behind the brute. To your left is a now open lifeforce door, run around or jump across if you're feeling brave and go through here. Go through another couple of doors until you're in a room facing two snipers, below you is an assassin brown ant. After killing the snipers, jump up to where the right one was and go through here. In here you'll find the Yellow Key and Sniper Rifle. Now head back out and through the yellow key exit, immediately turn left and find a Gemini capacity upgrade on some stairs. Now just head up the ramp to the next room (Never mind the fact there is lava in a spaceship?). Head to the opposite side of this room to find the exit and your ship!

Rith Essa

Bluff

Note: We can't save all the bears here without Juno/Vela and the blue key, although I will briefly mention their location. As soon as you start turn around to your left to find a capacity upgrade, then leave this area. Ignore the blue key door in front of us, and instead look to your right towards the waterfall, you will want to head up the main path then hover over to the ledge behind the waterfall to get Gemini and weapon capacity upgrades. Now head through the door behind the waterfall to get the Homing Missiles. Head back out to the main area and up the slopes, all the way to the doorway at the end. Immediately behind you to your right here is a capacity upgrade. Continue forward, kill anything that pops up. After killing the first group of flying enemies, look over the edge next to where they were. There is a ledge here with a couple more capacity upgrades. Continue around until you come up against 4 big purple brutes, behind one of them in a cove here is a capacity upgrade. Continue around until you get to a big swarm of flying enemies, you have to kill all of these to unlock the lifeforce door to leave the area.

Central Zone: Out here you'll immediately see a capacity upgrade in front of you, and to your left a chest with the Tri-Rockets. Now head up the steps to a wooden door, to your left in here you'll find the Cluster Bombs. On top of the dog kennel is a Gemini capacity increase as well, after getting these head back out to the main area and out the only exit we can take.

Interior

Simple level as it is linear, just kill everything that comes up and head to the end. I will mention the bear locations on the way although you'll likely notice them yourself anyway. Bear #1 is up on your right, under the bridge just head in a cubby hole is #2. You will later come across #3 on a ledge in front of you, with a bunch of Mizar coins. #4 is right on the main path once you're at the cliffs. Continue along the cliffs until you come up to your ship, turn left at the doorway to find a capacity upgrade before you leave the level though!

Eschebone

Approach

Welcome to Eschebone! Head into the doorway here to the next area where you'll find a couple of ants to kill and some platforms to use to avoid the lava. In here Bears #1 and #2 are in the corners. Head into the next area to find yourself on a rock bridge watch the center of the bridge as it collapses! Kill the flying enemies here then jump down the sides to get a capacity upgrade and Bears #3 and #4. On a platform near the entrance there is also a Capacity upgrade. Head into the next area now, and down to your right you'll see a platform with a chest containing Grenades. On a lower platform will be Bears #5 and #6. We can just hover our way into the mouth thing here, but to give ourselves permanent access for the other characters throw a grenade into it's mouth so it lays it's tongue down. Now head inside! Continue through the creature on a linear path, killing everything that pops up. You'll end up in a big room with a bridge high up in the air, with a whole bunch of ants running across it. Kill them to unlock the lifeforce door here and finish this level!

Thorax

Note: We will save the bears here in another playthrough as Vela. Around the four pillars in front of you are a few capacity upgrades. To your left and right here are some light slits you can exit out, out the left side are just some Mizar coins. Out the right is a door that if exploded open have max ammo for a few guns, and a fuel pad. Enter the main area again and head out the exit. Continue through the tunnel here killing everything until you get to the lifeforce door. It will still be locked, so turn around and go back to find a couple of ants that have spawned in the tunnel here. Head into the big room now and kill everything here, it will be a couple of swarms of flying enemies, a single big brute and a small army of brown ants. Once they're all dead head out the lifeforce door, which is the right of the three at the end. Kill everything in this tunnel, and once you've killed the brute in the end head through the now open door. There are a few max ammo crates up here, otherwise just kill the small army of brown ants in the next hall and head through the door they unlock. Continue through another hallway of much the same until you end up in a big area again.

Kill everything here and head through another hallway, killing the brute at the end of it to open an actual transition doorway. You'll now be on the bridge of a big area we were in earlier, go across it an enter the area on the other side. Head through now another hallway, until you get to an area with some water and an obvious Gemini upgrade on a pillar. Kill everything here then hover over to pick up the upgrade. Skip the next paragraph if you're here as Lupus.

Continue up the stairs and through another hallway until you come up to a room with a stone walkway, kill everything here and pick up the Magenta Key that you'll find on some steps over the side. Bears #11 and #12 are also on the ground floor in this room. Back up on the stone walkway you'll notice a lifeforce door that the walkway doesn't go to, in there is a Floyd Mission. You can choose to go for this now or later when we come back as Vela. Just remember that you need to at least get a bronze, merit won't count! At every turn, turn left and collect all the DNA on the way. Do it fast enough to easily get a bronze. Otherwise head follow the stone walkway to a magenta doorway, go through there to find yourself in the main big hall again. Enter the central magenta doorway here. Pick up everything here, as we're about to face another boss fight, the obnoxious mantis twins! Now I have to warn you straight off the bat, these guys are hard.

Phase One: You will have to beat each mantis individually for this phase. They will shoot red sonic waves that you can easily avoid by strafing, they are vulnerable in their right arm while aiming this. They will also shoot a grenade with their claw, again it is their vulnerable spot while they are doing it. Once you're up the the second one the first one will take cheap shots at you from a distance, time your jumps and strafes right to avoid them as much as possible. For this phase I suggest the Tri-Rockets!

Phase Two: Here the primary mantis will fire at you with its tail, I suggest using the homing rockets for this phase. After destroying the a tail the mantis will swap with its twin for you to do the same again.

Phase Three: Here the twins will fire a spray of five grenades at a time at you. The middle one will always fire first, followed by the one on the side. Once you get the rhythm dodging this attack is easy, just fire at the twins as they pull their heads back to fire at you. If you have no more rockets left, use either the shotgun charged up or the machine gun on them.

Phase Four: After one of them explodes, the other one will stay in the center and fire the same attack at you just much faster. As long as you keep moving it won't hit you, and the weak spot is the same as before. Once this one explodes you're all done!

After watching them veraciously explode, platform your way around the lava to the exit, where you will find your ship.

Mizar's Palace - Chasm

As soon as you start to your left and right will be both Bears #1 and #2 and a capacity upgrade. Continue down the valley here and you'll come up to a shiny floor area, kill the flying enemies and four brutes here. Go through the lifeforce door and open the chest in here to get Night Vision Goggles. Stand on the night vision pad to activate them, and go through the door that opens. Head through the tunnel here until you get to a split, go right and then once you get the chance go right again. In here you'll find a cubby hole with Bears #3-6. Now in the last split where you turned right to where we are now, turn left instead. There is a capacity behind you once you drop down a step. Continue around until you can turn right, this is a lift up. Behind you now is a lonely Bear #7, hover across and save it. Use your hover ability to get across the chasm and save Bear #8 inside the middle waterfall. In the corners up here you'll find some capacity upgrades, as well as Bears #9 and #10. Head out the exit now to be back in the main part of Mizar's Palace, you'll know what to do here. After a couple of cut-scenes, you'll now be facing Mizar as Lupus (Because for some reason in cut-scenes, he can fly).

He has three attacks, laser eyes, bad breath and a ground slam. They're all easily avoidable, just shoot at his face before he does them. There is nothing really more to this, especially after facing the mantis twins you will find this really easy! Unfortunately for us, we don't actually kill him as he flees after this phase and decides to throw a meteor towards Earth.

King Jeff will explain what we will be doing from here, saving all the bears and collecting ship parts. Once we've done these tasks it will be one more boss battle with Mizar and we're done!

Free Play

From here you will be heading back through most levels to save the rest of the tribal bears, unlock the last totem poles and collect all the ship parts (As well as getting at least bronze on the Floyd challenges!). You can choose how you'd like to attack this part, just pick a level and open the spoiler tags related to it to see the walkthrough for that section. Almost every level can be done without any prior preparation, I mention the exceptions at the start. Once you've finished that all, come back to this part of the walkthrough to continue!

Mizar's Palace

Play as either Juno/Vela. Whoever you choose, make your way to the pyramid area. In one of the corners here you'll find a small square doorway, head through here and continue until you find a small pyramid you can enter. In here fuel up your jetpack and fly up to the top of the central pillar, up here you can turn into an ant. Exit out the newly opened door now, then go down the lift. In this area go to the second to last bay on the left to find your race vehicle. I'm sure you can guess what you're about to do here, drive out any of the three exits to start the race. You need to come first, the best advice I can give is to focus on not hitting the walls. It is better to take a corner slowly than to end up stuck on a wall! The coins on the road are either boosts or weapons you can drop behind you. Depending on your racing skills this may take a couple of retries, but overall it isn't too hard. Once you finish first you will be awarded the Fuse ship part. After getting that, park your vehicle up and exit the way you came.

If you have done everything up to this point, you will have unlocked the following achievements;

Asteroid

Head into the next area, then drop down and take the bottom exit. There are quite a few difficult enemies in here, but as there is no lifeforce door at the end I suggest just ignoring them all. Jump over the platform to the next area, don't throw stones in this glass house! In other words the enemies in here won't shoot at you through the glass panels, so don't break them. The opposite end from where we came in has the exit, you will need to shoot out at least one glass platform to get here. This next area is an ambush! Around the outside you'll find a whole bunch of brutes and ants, clear them out as quickly as possible. Up where they were you'll find a lifeforce door to the next area. Fuel up here and fly over to the door on the left with the green symbol above it. Run through here ignoring the drones, and at the end collect all the ammo and exit the level. On to the last boss fight! Mizar is a lot harder than last time, this is an actual boss fight!

Phase 1: There are three attacks that are all dodged the same way by dodging left and right, his bad breath, laser eyes and meteor shower. He also has an attack where he hits the ground with his claw, causing a shock wave you will need to jump over. His problem attack is a bionic shock, he uses three different speeds. For his slow one, strafe towards it as you jump. For the fast and very fast ones you need to make sure you jump before it gets to you. He abuses this attack at times, and this is how you will lose most of your health. After doing a meteor shower, he will fly close to you and attack with different attacks. As he turns his back to you to fly away, lock you homing missile on to his back. Keep locked on for the remainder of this phase! Every time he turns around, fire a couple of missiles at his back. After enough hits, his backpack will fracture and he'll return to his island to do another meteor shower. After doing this three times, you'll be finished with phase 1.

Phase 2: Here he will still do his laser eyes and bad breath attacks, as well as still hitting the ground with his claw. Whip out your Tri-Rockets and spam them into his arms, after they're both gone just continue firing into his head. This phase is really short overall, after shooting his head off you're done!

After the cut-scene you'll unlock the following achievement;

Conker's Bad Fur Day

Welcome to Conker's Bad Fur Day! Before we get started I'm going to mention that this game is full of adult content. Unlike very other game in this collection, it is probably best you try avoid playing this one in front of any kids! With that out of the way, lets get started! This game doesn't have Rare Replay cheats, however it does have in-game cheats that mean we can skip almost the entire game. Personally I think it is a game worth playing from start to finish, however here I will be abusing the cheat system to get this game done as efficiently as possible.
