Welcome to the walkthrough for Unravel, the unique puzzle platformer from Coldwood. This game made quite a splash at 2015's E3 when it won the award for Best Original game. The basic story is about the bonds of love and relationships. This is represented by yarn which connects everything together. Sometimes it can get messy and tangled and sometimes it's tight and true... Sometimes you can jump on it like a trampoline and use it to swing from hooks.

This walkthrough will guide you as Yarny through 12 chapters. Most levels have 5 collectibles and a miscellaneous achievement for completing a certain task that's always different. There is one achievement that is likely to test how strong your relationships really are, which is "Not So Fragile." This is for completing each chapter without dying once. There is level select, so you only have to complete a chapter once without dying for it to count.

Grab some balls of yarn and let's get unraveling!

Anywhere you can lasso or tie a knot will be called a "node" in this guide. The objects are often different and other synonyms are confusing or inappropriate, so they will all just be called nodes.

Tying a knot between two nodes that are close to each other may be called "making a trampoline." You can also use these as bridges to push items over gaps. If you are using the trampoline to jump higher, sometimes you will jump higher in the middle, but usually the sides will get you jumping a little higher.

You automatically tie knots to checkpoints, which often makes it impossible to backtrack. If there's a collectible coming up, make sure that you get it before continuing to the next checkpoint. There's a few rare exceptions where it's actually easier once you get the checkpoint to rappel down a chasm.

If you miss a secret you can just replay the level. When you collect the secret, get to a checkpoint, and then you can quit out and still get the collectible.

Although it can be much safer to tie knots on every node, it may make it impossible to continue. Keep in mind that the shortest path between two points is a straight line. If you deviate too much from the shortest path you may run out of yarn. When you get a checkpoint, you will always get enough yarn to get to the next checkpoint, although it's still possible to get stuck in the wrong area and have to go back to the checkpoint.

This is in the intro tutorial but worth mentioning here as it's easy to forget. Hold cn_down for several seconds to go back to the previous checkpoint. It's much better than having to restart the level. You can also kill yourself but will miss out on the no-death run. Restarting a checkpoint does not count as a death.

The tutorial also tells you that things you can climb will shimmer. What it doesn't tell you is that the node that Yarny will try to lasso will also shimmer. This is very important for some sections, especially going through Berry mire without swatting mosquitoes and the areas near secrets. Sometimes you can lasso straight up from a node that you're already on. Do this by holding cn_LS in the direction you want to go. If the node starts to shimmer you can usually reach it by quickly letting go of cn_RT and pressing it again. Just make sure the other node is shimmering when you do so.

If you are climbing up your yarn tail with cn_LT you can rapidly tap cn_A to "jump" up it. This can be a little dangerous if there are harmful things nearby but it generally a way to get up the yarn much faster. This will also allow you to get out of the water most of the time before you drown.

Currently there are no known exploits to avoid death when going for a no death run. Reloading a checkpoint with cn_down doesn't count as a death, but if you die, you have to restart the level.

Prologue

After a brief cutscene, you will take control of Yarny. In the background, there is a pillow that says "Lycka blommar ur små enkla ting", which translates to "happiness blooms from small, simple things". This will be the basic theme through much of this relaxing puzzle platformer.

On the table to the right there is a photo album that has distorted, blurry photos. You can look through it but there's nothing to see yet. As you go through the levels it will fill up with pictures.

Continue to the right and jump up to a desk with a picture for the first level, Thistle and Weeds, and press cn_X. If you go too far to the right, you can get back by pulling on your yarn tail with cn_LT.

Thistle and weeds

In the first level, there is an achievement for pulling down all the thistle in one go. That means you have to pull them all down without dying. This level isn't too hard so just be careful and you should be able to get this without too much trouble.

Start by running to the right. You'll automatically interact with two butterflies on the way. Then you'll start to run out of yarn and Yarny will tug at the yarn trailing behind it. As the camera changes you'll see a large metal globe that is probably a sundial. There is a small tangle of yarn at the top and the tutorial will tell you how to get it. So hold cn_RT and move to the left to make the entire globe fall over. Grabbing the yarn will allow you to travel further in the level. Make sure you are always on the lookout for these as they will help you get further in the level and sometimes are needed for secrets.

Continuing to the right you will come to two buckets. Drag the bucket to the left with cn_B. Then hold cn_LT to climb back up the yarn dragging behind you. Jump over the bucket and drag it to the right. Then climb back up your yarn and jump across both buckets. Use your lasso and jump off nodes to the right twice.

After seeing the image of a boy with a stick in the background you'll come to a wall of ivy. The tutorial tells you that items that shimmer can be climbed, so climb up the ivy. Run to the right and lasso across to the stump of a tree. Here there is another ball of yarn for Yarny to wrap up. Swing to the right with the lasso and there will be two branches that you can tie your yarn to make a trampoline. Notice that the yarn will have a glowing red aura. This means that you can stand on it, jump on it, or push item across it. The tutorial will tell you to hold cn_LSd and release it to to jump to the top. It's too bad you can't jump on it like most games! Once you get up to the bird house you are by the first secret.

First tie a knot to the node on the bird house and then on the branch to the right of it--but don't jump up yet. First drop off to the right side and press cn_LT a few times to make sure you don't fall to your death. Once you get to the bottom there will be a patch of thistles to the right. Lasso them and pull them down. Thistle 1 of 6. Behind the thistles is the first secret. Secret 1 of 55. Climb back up and use the trampoline from earlier.

On the next branch, the tutorial will instruct you to lasso up and tie the yarn to the two branches up there. Then use this newly made trampoline to jump further up and to the right, where there is another clump of yarn. Hold cn_LSd and press cn_A to jump below the branch you're standing on. You'll have to do it again but make sure to hold cn_LT or you'll fall to your death.

Jump down once more and there will be another ball of yarn and a checkpoint. Shortly to the right there are two nodes with two apples between them. Push the apples to the left and tie the yarn to both of the nodes. Then push all 5 apples to the right until they fall in the pit. Pull the branch above to fill the pit with water and continue to the right. If you fall in the water rapidly tap cn_A to jump back out because Yarny can drown pretty quickly. This can be done with fewer apples but it's much easier with all of them.

Climb the stairs and you'll come to a folding chair. You can just run right under it to the right. When you fall down into the garden there is a patch of thistle to the left with a ball of yarn behind it. Thistles 2 of 6. Head to the left and stay on the bottom under the sunflowers. To the right is another patch of thistles with a secret behind them. Thistles 3 of 6. Secret 2 of 55.

Now you can jump up the sunflowers and go to the right. When you fall back down to the ground there is a patch of thistles obscuring a tricycle. Thistles 4 of 6. Pull the tricycle all the way to the left and use it to jump on the gate latch. Ride the tricycle until it crashes and you will almost be out of yarn. Luckily there is a ball of it right by you.

Above you there are four nodes that you can lasso to make your way up the tree. Swing back and forth to get a little more height and distance. If you're really struggling you can also tie a knot to one of the nodes so you can just hold cn_LT and climb back to it. Be mindful of which ones you tie a knot to, because you will be using up extra lengths of yarn that may be needed later.

One you're at the top of the fourth one you'll have to launch yourself far to the right and lasso another branch. Tie a knot to this branch a climb down the yarn. In a small alcove to the right there will be a secret. Secret 3 of 55. You may have to swing a little to get in the alcove.

Climb back up and swing to the ledge that is to the far right. Keep going right past the image of a girl in a tree house. Here there is another thistle blocking some yarn. Pull down the thistle and grab the yarn. Thistles 5 of 6. Keep heading right and you will fall onto a block. Slightly more to the right are two nodes that you should tie the yarn to. Then push the block across a sandbox until you get to a see-saw/teeter-totter.

Leave the block by the sandbox and go to the right to find the final thistle patch which will unlock an achievement. Thistles 6 of 6.

This will bring down the see-saw/teeter-totter. Then push the block to the right side of the see-saw/teeter-totter and it will drop the right side of it. Then run up the slope to the left and there will be a lasso node with a secret. Secret 4 of 55. Drop back down and bring the block back to the left side of the see-saw/teeter-totter. Run up the slope to the right and continue to the tire swing. Lasso the node on the bottom of it and swing to get up to the greenhouse.

Below you there is a block that you need to get to the upper right platform. This is a little difficult to describe so watch the video if you're confused. Drop down to where the block is and tie a knot on the first node on the ground. Then jump up to the platform to the right. Tie a knot to this node. There is another platform up and to the right that you can lasso. Tie a knot on this node as well. If done correctly, you should be able to pull the block all the way to the upper right platform.

Once up there, jump on the block and then the thin wooden wall. Don't jump to the right yet! Instead, jump to the left and onto a hanging flower pot. Here is the last secret of the level. Secret 5 of 55. Now you can go back to the right, and a cutscene will take you to the end of the level and unlock an achievement.

You'll be back in the house by the photo album. The next level is on the desk to the right again, just above the previous level.

Start jumping up the hill to the right and as you're going down you will pass a trash can. Lasso the soda can inside and push it all the way to the right. Use it to climb up the ledge to the right. Then jump on the fence and then onto the telescope. Tie a knot to the telescope and then jump down to the bench and tie a knot onto the node down there. If you're having trouble jumping to the bench, you can always pull the soda can a little to the left and use that.

This will create a trampoline that you can use to launch yourself to a lasso node to the upper left. This is a somewhat difficult jump to make but you will get some more yarn when you get up there. Lasso up and to the left and tie a knot on that node. Then lasso further to the left and tie another knot there. This will create a trampoline that can be used to reach the branch above you.

Up here there is some more yarn and a kite. The controls while you are riding the kite take some getting used to. You have to make sure that neither the kite nor Yarny get stuck in any of the branches for too long.

There is also a coin in the branches of one of the trees. Do NOT get the next checkpoint until you get the coin, otherwise you have to start the whole level over again to get to the same kite location.

When going for the secret, you can count by the trees in the foreground or the background, but the background is much easier. When you are counting by the background trees it is in the upper branches of the fourth tree (on the right side of the tree). If you are counting by the foreground trees it is after the first one and right before the second one. To get up there properly you have to go at an angle and you'll probably die a few times. After you get the collectible land the kite on a branch on the far right side. If you undershoot it, there is another branch with a few nodes that will help you get back up. From the ball of yarn on the top branch jump off the right side of the tree. Jump of the branch that you land on, except this time you will need to hold cn_LT or you'll fall to your death. There is a node at the end of this branch that you can tie a knot to. Then jump off and swing to the left under the branch to get another ball of yarn.

Drop down again making sure to catch yourself with cn_LT. Back on the ground again there are seven pine cones that you can push into the pit to the right. Then cross the pit and swing across two lasso nodes. Stay above the water or risk dying. Continue to the right near the water for two more lasso nodes and you'll get to a checkpoint. Down and to the left is a small pool with a rock in the middle. If you go a little bit off the left side you will find a secret hidden below the surface. Secret 7 of 55.

Now you can continue to the ledge above the checkpoint. You can lasso the node right above you, tie a knot, lasso the node above that and swing to the right. Heading to the right will cause you to stumble, but won't do any more harm. At this point you can pull the branch below the large piece of driftwood to the right. Keep going right past a checkpoint until you get to the docks with some large waves.

There is a node right on the edge of the dock that you should tie a knot to. Then swing under the dock and get the ball of yarn. You can continue to the left by pushing the piece of wood. Continue under the dock to the left and you'll come to a small alcove with a secret. Secret 8 of 55.

Now continue back to the part of the dock where you first made a knot. This next area will have some tricky swinging with less room for error. Swing across three lasso nodes until you get to a checkpoint on the shore to the right.

Here there is a piece of driftwood on a chain. If you pull it out a little bit, it will help you reach the lasso node above the checkpoint. Now you will have to swing on some lasso nodes that are above the waves. You can take more time with these to make sure you have some more momentum. When you reach the third lasso node (it's just past the edge of the dock above you), tie a knot to it. Lasso to the node slightly to the left and tie a knot there.

Next, climb down until you're almost touching the waves. It will be a little below the lasso node that you used previously. Then swing back and forth until you get enough momentum to reach the secret to the far left. Secret 9 of 55.

Climb back up to the trampoline that you made and jump up and to the right. There will be two more nodes that are perfect for making a trampoline. Use it and fall of a small cliff to another checkpoint. To the right there is a pole with rope on it that can be climbed. Don't be afraid of the seagull as it will just fly away. Take the clam that was by the seagull and push it into the pool of water to the right.

A crab will sidle along and will "eat" it (really just jiggle above it). Jump on the crab and quickly jump to the land to the right. If you stay on the crab for about two seconds it will grab you and kill you.

Further to the right there is another crab guarding a checkpoint. You'll have to get the shell in the pool of water to the right to bring back to it. Start by lassoing the node on the large wheel and rotating it clockwise. Then tie a knot to it and tie a knot to the node to the right. Push the clam on the rope bridge and all the way to the crab. Grab the checkpoint but don't follow the crab into its hole. It will probably kick you out but can also kill you.

Once you get the extra length of yarn you can continue to the right on the trampoline. Going down the hill you will see an image in the background and get another checkpoint. This next section will have the waves again, but this time you have to move a flotation device to the far right.

First run over to the rock on the right when the waves are low. There are two nodes in the next section, with the off-white flotation device on the upper ledge. You can get up there from jumping off the right node and climbing up. However, it is much easier to make a trampoline and jump up to it.

Push it off to the right and follow it down. There is a wall here with a small gap in the bottom. Place the flotation device right in the center of it and stand on it. If it's not in the center it will probably flip out and you may drown. Do it correctly and a lever will drop to the right. If you push the flotation device just under the left side of this lever and stand on it, the wave will raise it and you to the top of the lever.

From here tie a knot to the node on the right and tie another knot to the node on the rock to the upper right side. Now you can push the flotation device across this yarn bridge and use it in the next area to float you to the dock.

After the checkpoint, there is a crab by a crab trap. Jump past the crab and the trap. Then lasso the handle on the wheel and rotate it clockwise. This will raise up the crab trap and the crab will conveniently crawl under it. Jump up to the platform to the right of the wheel and pull the latch to drop the trap.

Ride the trapped crab to the right, where there is antique pike pole (a spear with a hook on it, commonly used in logging). Pull the pike pole out then jump on it and pull the metal loop on a chain. This will pull out a fishing gaff (hooked pole to pull large fish in). Climb up it and continue to the right.

You will come to a chain that is attached to a pulley block. When you stand on the chain the pulley block will slip loose. Lasso it before it gets away and jump off onto some boxes. If you miss there is a log that you an jump off to get the height to reach the pulley block. Otherwise you can always restart the checkpoint.

Next, you will have to swing yourself over several crabs. There are three lasso nodes and enough room to swing comfortably. After you make it across the area with the crabs you will get to a door that will swing shut if you're not pulling on it. To get through, tie a knot to the door and jump over the left side of the log above you. Now when you pull on your yarn it will open the door as you approach it.

Now that you are in the boat house, you are just about done with the level. Grab the checkpoint but don't go on the boat yet. Make a trampoline on the two nodes to the left and jump up to another platform. Push the two boxes to the right, which will swing up the platform. On the ceiling, there are three hooks that you can swing from. You can tie a knot to each one so you can just pull yourself back up. There are also two pulley blocks in between the hooks that you will have to stand on. If you over shoot these you can pull yourself back up. When you get to the far right there is a secret on a ledge. Secret 10 of 55.

Now that you have the secret you can start the boat. Pull the cord out to start the motor. Then lasso the node on the motor and pull back to lift the motor up and cut the rope. When the boat reaches the shore, jump out and run to the right to finish the level and unlock an achievement.

When you're in the house, run to the desk again. The next level is right next to the previous one.

Right off the bat there is secret that is far above you in the trees. To get up there lasso the second node that you see and climb to the top of it. Then hold cn_LSu. The node above you will shimmer, indicating that Yarny will be able to reach it if you grab for it. Quickly release cn_RT and press it again while still holding cn_LSu.

You can try to use this technique to go up to the next pair of branches but it's much easier to make a trampoline and use that to jump up there. When you get to the top pair of branches, make a trampoline and stand in the middle of it. If you stand to the sides you won't jump far enough. While you are in the air grab the node in the middle of the trees, and swing to the left to get the first secret. Secret 11 of 55.

Now you can go back to the forest floor and head right. Past the checkpoint there is a fallen log over some water. Jump off and press cn_LT to swing under to the branch with a node on it. This will break and start floating to the right. Before it stops on the shore tie a knot to the end of it and go to the screen to the right. Lasso the large lever which will open the flood gates. Then go down to the rock below it where another node is. Try to shorten the yarn a little bit by climbing up it with cn_LT and then tie a knot to the node below so the flood gates stay open.

Then go back to the left and untie the knot on the log, allowing it to continue floating downstream. Follow it to the right and after it crosses the flood gate, continue to ride it to the shore. Then drag the log out of the water and use it to jump on a rock to the right. Fall down for a checkpoint.

Tie a knot on the node to the right. To the left of the checkpoint is a rock that you'll have to push far to the right. When pull it away from the wall, make sure you don't pull it too far or it will start rolling on its own and crush you. As you push it to the right it will push another rock and land in a pool, allowing you to cross safely.

When you get to the next checkpoint don't keep running; there is a secret nearby. The rock in front of you will fall when you stand on it. So, run on it and jump back to the left before you get taken with it. If you do accidentally fall you can pull yourself back up by climbing up the yarn tail. Secret 12 of 55.

Go to the right and there will be a branch that sticks up that you can jump on. Use it to lasso another dead branch that is above you. Push that to the right and use it to cross another pool.

At this point you will encounter mosquitoes, which can't harm you. They will, however, annoy you by preventing you from jumping high. There is an achievement for going through the rest of the level without swatting a mosquito. This basically means you shouldn't use cn_RT unless you are absolutely sure that it's going to hit a lasso node. If there are no lasso nodes in range you will automatically swat at the mosquitoes. You should be using cn_X to tie knots, cn_B to push objects and cn_LT to drag objects or pull yourself back up.

You can choose to go fast and fly by the mosquitoes, or take your time and make sure you highlight every single node before throwing your lasso. If the mosquitoes are surrounding you too much you can move away to lure them over there and quickly make a break for it.

Once you make it to land, grab the log and push it into the next pool. Tie a knot to the log and drag it with cn_LT to the next pool, where you have to ride it across. The log will sink and you'll have to use your lasso here. I suggest making sure the node is highlighted before you throw it. Practice jumping a few times and watch the node highlight and un-highlight.

When you make it to the land again you'll have to jump and lasso. Even if the mosquitoes are preventing you from jumping you can still make the jump without swatting them. Alternatively, you can lure them to the left and make a break for it before they can congregate again.

When you make it to the second lasso node, tie a knot here. Then swing over to the right and tie a knot on the node over here. If you tie them in the other order you will not have enough yarn to make it to the checkpoint above.

Continuing to the right you will come to a seesaw/teeter-totter. Lasso the right side to bring it down and tie a knot to that node. Then shorten your yarn and tie a knot to the node on the ground. This should prevent the seesaw/teeter-totter from swinging up when you stand on the other end. Now lasso up to the hand axe on the tree house and then to the left side of the seesaw/teeter-totter.

Tie a knot here and make a trampoline with the node to the right. Jump up and into the tree house where there is a stove with a node on it. Use the node to pull open the stove door and two logs will come rolling out. There is a third log in the stove that you have to pull out. Then push all three logs to the left which will make a secret pop out of the other side. Secret 13 of 55.

Now stand on the stove and climb up the stuff that looks like camouflage netting. Tie a knot to the node up here and jump down and try to swing to the right side of the tree house through the inside. For example, from that top node, jump far to the left and then hold cn_LT until you start swinging fast to the right. Then let go and you should land on a checkpoint.

Continuing to the right you will have to jump across a log and a bog. Then there is a log that tilts in the water depending on which side you stand on it. Stand on the left side so it raises out of the water, then jump to the upper right branch before it goes back down.

The next part is a little tricky because your yarn starts to run out and you are bombarded with mosquitoes. Jump across some bogs and use the lasso node only if it's highlighted. Then you will come to another tilting log. There is a rock to the right with a node on it. At this point your yarn is also running low so try not to stray too far. Tie a knot to that rock and pull it back to the tilting log with cn_LT. It should flip up as it comes onto the tilting log.

Get the rock slightly right or center on the tilting log. Then lure the mosquitoes to the left and with one quick motion jump onto the rock and lasso to the point that is straight above you. This is a pretty hard lasso to make as you have to lasso it right at the peak of your jump. Once you get it don't go to the branch on the right, as it will fall down. Instead go to the branch on the left first and finally grab some lovely yarn.

Now you can make your way to the branch on the right. Continue on for a while as it is relatively uneventful until you get to a tractor. Make a trampoline here and use it to jump onto the tractor. Tie a knot on the node that is right by the front window and pull the lever to the right to unlock the door below. As you're pushing the door open you should be able to see another secret just below you. You can't swing down there so you'll have to get something that floats in the water.

Pull the lever to the right to open the front of the tractor. Then use the lasso node on the front of the tractor to get on top of the engine compartment. From here you can push the smokestack to the left and climb to the top of the tractor cab. Up here there is a broken headlamp that you can push down to where the secret is to obtain it. Secret 14 of 55.

Get back to the top of the engine compartment and make a trampoline between the front of the tractor and the smokestack. Jump up and to the right to get another checkpoint. From the checkpoint jump to the left and grab your yarn with cn_LT, which will launch you to the right. Be careful as there are only a few bogs to stand on. Shortly after passing a rock you will have a fun little cutscene with a moose.

Continue to the far right until you get to something that looks like a metal milk carton. I think it's a beehive smoker, but that's up to interpretation. Attach a knot to it and pull it all the way to the far left until it stops under a branch. Then get on it and jump straight up and lasso a node above you. Make a trampoline between the two nodes up here and use them to jump to the checkpoint to the upper left. There's a node above it to help you out.

Now you can go back down to the beehive smoker and push it back to the right. Use it to jump to the next checkpoint. Once you get here there will be two branches above you with nodes on them. Make a trampoline with them (The left branch will fall a little), and jump to the left to get the last secret of this level. Secret 15 of 55.

Use the trampoline that you just made to jump to the upper right to get a small amount of yarn. This will be enough to get the huge clump of yarn on the ground. Drop straight down and grab your yarn tail before hitting the ground. Then run to the left to get it.

To the right there will be a branch with a node on it. Lasso it and keep climbing up the tree. Once you get to the top it will fall down and you'll be able to just run right to the end of the level. This unlocks an achievement. You will also unlock an achievement if you made it through the level without killing any mosquitoes.

When you get back to the house you can go to the next level. It's above the previous ones but you'll have to do some swinging to get up there.

Drop down to the ground and run to the right. Go past a tilting log with a node above it and come to a log that is propped up by a rock. Pull the rock and lasso up to the branch above to the log. Keep going to the right and jump over a small gap to get to a checkpoint.

Climb up a few branches and you will come to two nodes with a branch up and to the right. You can make a trampoline here and jump up to the top right branch. You also can make a trampoline and push the large rock to the left over it and use it to reach the high branch. From here jump to the right and get another checkpoint. To the right is a log that you can pull down to continue to another screen. Make sure you're not too close to the log or it will crush you.

On the next screen, climb up some roots and jump to the right for some more yarn. There's a lasso node above if you need assistance with the jump. When you head to the hole to the right you'll start sliding. If you want to stop you can simply grab your yarn tail with cn_LT. There is a water pit with a secret towards the bottom that you might not be able to see at first. To get it, stand on the rock above it and get it to fall in the water. Then you can use the node and lower yourself down or swing down and to the right. Secret 16 of 55.

Go to the little alcove to the upper left and tie a knot to the node here. Then jump out from the alcove and grab your yarn tail to swing to the right. When you get the next checkpoint to the right you will notice that there seems to be a node under the mushroom to your right. You can't use it yet, but you will be able to in a second. Keep heading right and you will get chased by what I believe is a Norwegian lemming.

Immediately start running back to the left and back to safety by the checkpoint. The lemming will knock over the mushroom top, so you are able to make a trampoline between those nodes. Use it to jump up to the vines above. Climb up and lasso up until you get the checkpoint. Here, you should be able to see a bird house to the top left. Make a trampoline here and then jump up to the birdhouse and make another trampoline to reach the secret. Secret 17 of 55.

Drop down to the right side and you'll be on the other side of the lemming. Jump or walk on the puffballs (fungus that emits dust-like spores) to make the lemming retreat into the cave. Be careful as the lemming can still bite you if you're not walking on the puffballs. Once the lemming retreats far enough you will be able to lasso a piee of wood that looks like a toy boat. Push it all the way to the right and start riding it.

After a short while a European perch will swim up and try to knock you off the boat. It will continue to do this until you lasso the fishing lure on its dorsal fin. Once you do that it will take you for a short ride and smash your boat on the opposite shore.

Once you walk past the checkpoint there will be three nodes. Tie knots to each one so they create a ramp going into the cave. Then trampoline up and push the tin can into the cave using the ramp that you created. Once inside the cave you will see a large tilting log. Push the can to the right side of it and go under the left side of the log to get a secret. Secret 18 of 55.

Now you can push the can back to the left side of the tilting log and go to the checkpoint to the right. Further to the right, there are several nodes and a little platforming. Swing across and then tie a knot to the upper right node that is in an alcove. Then jump off and grab your yarn tail to swing to the right. As you're flying to the right lasso another node and swing to safety.

At this point you will be chased by your old lemming friend. You have to use the lasso nodes above the pools of water or you'll get slowed down too much. Try to get somewhat close to the nodes before you lasso them so you don't swing right into the water. There are four of these nodes altogether and then a vine at the end that you'll have to crawl up before the lemming goes crashing through the floor. It may take a few times to get just right, but once you get the lassoing part down it's much easier.

After climbing up the vines and getting a checkpoint, you will come to larger area with a more complicated series of paths. First, make a bridge/trampoline. Then climb up the vines on the right side and pull on the node to the right to release a rock. Then pull the wooden pail down and push it to the left. If it gets stuck just pull it back out and try again.

Drop down to where the rock dropped and push it over to the first trampoline. Now make a bridge with the two nodes to the left and push the rock onto this ledge. From here you can jump up and get the secret. Secret 19 of 55. This will also unlock an achievement.

Now you have to untie all the knots that you've made in this section or your yarn won't be long enough to reach the next checkpoint. From the first trampoline lasso up and climb up the right ledges where the pail is. Lasso up and you'll be back outside.

Head to the right and pull the spool of wire off the ledge. Now push it to the right until you almost get to the water. Don't push the spool in the water yet. First, climb up the tree to the second node and the tree will bend down a little bit. Tie a knot to this node and then tie a knot to the spool of wire. Now when you push the spool of wire into the water it will pull the tree down a little bit. This will allow you to get to the top and jump over to the checkpoint.

The rest of the level is pretty straight forward platforming with one more secret. I apologize if the descriptions are a little vague; it's because every platform is a branch. Swing across a gap and then there is another larger gap that you will have to swing across. From here climb up to the mossy branch above and swing across a small gap.

Climb up some branches and swing over to a node on a larger branch. Tie a knot here and jump off, while swinging to the right. Climb up a little to get to a checkpoint by a bag. When you lasso the bag, it will detach and carry you to the shore. Hold cn_LSr to get a little more distance while gliding.

After seeing another image climb up a woodshed and pull open the door to release the logs. Try not to slam the door right on you and then run to the right. Lasso to the branch and climb up to get out of the way of the logs. Then head to the left and go inside the woodshed for the last secret. Secret 20 of 55.

Now that the logs are creating a bridge, cross them to end the level and unlock an achievement.

Once you are back in the house look for the level called "Off the rails." It is to the far right on an end table. You can easily reach it from the node in the door's keyhole to the right of the desk.

The start of this level is nice and simple. Keep running to the right for about a minute. You'll pass train tracks, an image and finally a walking bridge that doesn't have a middle section. Start by making a trampoline on the two bottom nodes and jumping up and lassoing the top of the board. Pull yourself up, which weighs down this section. When it gets to the bottom tie a knot to it so it can't swing back up. Go to the right side of the board and use the node here to swing to the next section of the bridge. It's usually easier if you tie a knot to it and hang off with cn_LT.

Under the next checkpoint, you will see a secret, which can be obtained through use of the log raft. It should be noted that there is an achievement for getting through this section without the raft. However, you can get both the achievement and the secret in one playthrough without dying.

First open the latch to the right while trying to stay out of the water. This works best if you don't jump at all when you lasso the node. Then tie a knot to the node inside, creating a bridge to the checkpoint. Push the log raft all way to the left and off the platform. Fall onto and ride to the secret. Secret 21 of 55. Hold cn_down to restart the checkpoint and go for the achievement next.

This time jump off the platform as far to the right as you can and lasso the node under the raft. Then swing off to the right and quickly grab the next node and start climbing out of the water before you drown. Lasso the node above you and crawl over the right side of the pulley. Then swing over to a wooden platform. Jump on a log protruding out of the building and onto the structure to the right.

Now climb down the structure where there is a secret. While hanging over the water, swing over and get it. You may have to let go of cn_LT as you're swinging to the right to get the proper distance. Secret 22 of 55. Now climb out of the structure and continue to the right. There will be a chain off to the right.

It's tempting to just jump off and reach for it, but it's too far and you'll drown. Instead hang off the edge of the structure and swing until you get enough momentum to swing towards it and grab the chain. Swing to the right and you'll unlock the achievement for making past this section without using the raft.

Head to the right and jump over the gap to get some more yarn. Climb up and swing to the left and lasso a node on the large gear to open the flood gates. Now your yarn will start to wrap around a giant gear, so you have to move quickly or you'll die. Dropdown and run to the right to the gear that's wrapping up your yarn. Then pull your yarn tail so you are on the gear.

As it rotates counter-clockwise it will bring you close to a chain with a node on it. Lasso the node to remove your yarn from the gear. It will also drop a piece of wood that you should ride on. When the wood reaches the bricks on the other side jump up and onto the next screen.

This room has a series of large pistons that can very easily crush you. Jump down to the conveyor belt and move so the pistons don't drop down on you. After passing all three, lasso a node on the spinning wheel which will take you up to a checkpoint.

Now you have to cross back on top of the pistons. Be patient and jump right as the pistons are at their highest point. When you get across, go to the left to go to the previous screen. Here you'll have to climb up and make a trampoline/bridge on the top node and one a little bit to the right. Under the right node there is a wheel which you will have to pull to the left and push up the bridge that you just made. Keep pushing it to the right until it locks into place on a tilting board.

Now cross over to the right and grab the checkpoint. Now you have to backtrack a little bit to get a secret. Go left until you reach the gap with the tilting board and rappel down into the gap to find the secret on the right side. Secret 23 of 55. Climb back out and start to climb the wooden structure above you. Pull the pin out which will launch the wheel to the right.

Note: There's a bug here where if you die the wheel will spawn back to its original position. If that happens you'll have to push the wheel back in place before removing the pin.

Follow the wheel to the right and pull it to the left and stand on the left side of the tilting branch. Now push the wheel on the tilting branch to act as a counterweight. Go up the branch and continue right until you get to another checkpoint. Tie a knot to the bottom right node and then to the node on the branch above you. Go left from the checkpoint where there is a movable rock. Push it all the way to the right and it will prop up the branch. Now climb up your yarn tail to get to the other side where there is a checkpoint.

Make a trampoline here and jump to the left. Climb over the rock to the left and tie a knot to this node. The rock will also reveal that it has a node as well. Make a trampoline and jump up to the vines above. This section will have rocks that fall from above when the screen shakes so climb somewhat quickly up the four vine walls.

Once you climb on top of a log the screen will shake again, so run to the alcove to the left to avoid the rock. Now lasso up and swing on the vines to the right. Make sure you don't let go of cn_RT until you are actually climbing on the vines or you could fall. Lasso up once more and make a trampoline for the two nodes that are here. Use it to jump into the alcove to the left.

Above you there is a lasso node but don't climb up it. This jump can be a little difficult so it's a good idea to tie a knot to this node. Now use it to swing to the far right where there is another lasso node to grab the secret. Secret 24 of 55. Climb back to the node to the left side of this canyon and run all the way to the left. Another stone will come rolling by and you can then jump up to the checkpoint.

Run on the ground to the left some more to trigger more stones rolling at you. Quickly lasso up to the branch above you and wait for them to pass. Keep running and lassoing up the mountain past two more checkpoints. Rocks under your feet will start to slip but you can just jump over them several times. The next rock that comes will force you to hide behind a rock on the ground. There isn't a lot of room for error on this one so press all the way up to the rock wall.

As you're going up further you will reach a checkpoint. Here there will be another rock rolling towards you. Quickly lasso the branch on the ground and pull it back to shield yourself from the rock. Then lasso up to another checkpoint to get some more yarn. Head back to the left where the rock that you just block came from and climb up the hill some more for a secret. Secret 25 of 55.

Now you can go back to the checkpoint again and finally continue. Lasso up three nodes on wires and the third wire will detach. Now climb down a little bit and swing back and forth to get a lot of momentum. You should be able to swing up to the lasso node on the next wire to the right. Repeat this for two more long jumps. These may take a few times to get correctly.

Once you get to the checkpoint climb up some cables and swing across two more lasso nodes. Then you will land on a piece of steel that is just tied to some rope. You have to run back and forth to get the piece of steel to lift on the right side while you are there. This can be a little tricky but there's no rush to do it quickly.

Climb up some more cables to get to another checkpoint. Lasso up and to the left and swing onto the pipe to the left. Now you will have to do two lasso jumps that are pretty far apart. Once you get them you can either swing up to the last one or make a trampoline here. The goal is to get up to the shimmering cables. Once you're up there run to the right to end the level and unlocking an achievement.

Once you're back in the house you can go to the end table at the far left where the last level was. Lasso up and start on the level called "Down in a hole." Uhhh, did you notice the house is getting dark?

The beginning of this level is really straight forward again. Just keep running right. A car will drive above you but you don't have to worry about dodging it. Make sure to grab the yarn on the next gate; it looks like half a skein of yarn. If you know Swedish, you'll be alerted to some contaminated soil ahead... hope that doesn't affect Yarny.

Keep going right and you will come to a sign on the ground. Run over it and grab the crushed soda can. Put it on the right side of the sign and lasso up to the pine trees to the left. Make a trampoline here and jump up to some more yarn that is tangled around a tree branch. From here you can lasso to the right two times and then lasso once more to the right to reach the top of the chainlink fence. Climb over it to get to another checkpoint.

Keep heading to the right until you get to a barrel with a crow on it. Pull down the lid of the barrel and climb on top of it. The lasso twice to the left to get some more yarn. Now you return to the ground and continue to the right.

You will come to two nodes and a small bottle. Make a bridge here and push the bottle to the right over the bridge. Use the bottle to climb up the ledge, but make sure that the bottle is far enough away from the ledge that you can stand on the right side of it. You need to do this for the next section.

Up the hill a little further there are two barrels tied up with some chains. Lasso the node on the chain and pull it back. These barrels will be able to crush you, so quickly run to the left and lasso up the short tree and stay there until the first barrel passes under you. Then quickly drop down and run to the left and hide under the ledge with the bottle. You have to be directly under the ledge or the barrel will kill you. This allows only a very narrow margin of error.

Once the barrels are past you can continue back to the right of where they were. Shortly you will come to the toxic water that the previous signs were foreshadowing. If you touch this you will instantly die. Jump over the first pool and lasso across the second one. After this there are two barrels being held up by a stick. Once you stand on the middle of the second barrel they will start rolling to the left. Jump back to the left before they get too far. Then pull the bottle out of the barrel. It looks kinda like a sports drink bottle but clearly is marked toxic. Behind it is the first secret. Secret 26 of 55.

Now push the toxic bottle to the right and jump up the logs. Make a trampoline here and jump up to the next branch. From here there is a lasso point to the left that you can use to get to the branch above you. Hold cn_LT and swing to the checkpoint below you. Then head to the right and drop all the way to the ground here, making sure to stay to the left by the tree you just climbed. When you get to the bottom there will be two nodes and another toxic bottle.

Make a bridge here and push the toxic bottle to right. Keep pushing until it goes into the contaminated water. You want the bottle to be about in the middle of the water. If the bottle seems to get stuck on one of the sides, you can get it to move by running in one direction and stopping suddenly. Then make a trampoline on the two nodes on either side of it, using the bottle to safely get across the toxic water. Jump up and lasso the node on the left side of the pallet above you. When you swing over to the node on the right side of the pallet the barrels will start to roll of into the water. Make sure that you are back on the left node to avoid getting hit with them.

Now you can swing to the right node again and then swing onto the barrels that are now in the water. Continue to the right until you see a secret on a barrel. First get the checkpoint that is to the right of the barrel. This is just because the secret is dangerous to get. To get it, go back to the left and swing dangerously close to the toxic water. Once you get swinging, jump off to the right and get the secret. Secret 27 of 55.

Keep going to the right and there will be a long jump over toxic water. If you think you can't make it you can wait a little while a log will come floating to make it a little easier. Past this section, you start running down a hill with many differently shaped rocks. When you get to the checkpoint at the bottom you are forced to try to go to the left. This triggers the rocks to start sliding towards you. Quickly jump over the smaller ones and when the bigger one with some moss on it slides down jump on it. This should give you enough height to jump to the platform to the right. A huge rock will come sliding down and destroy the barrier, sending you flying to the right.

From here keep heading to the right under a trailer mounted generator. Slightly further to the right there is a small box. Pull it towards the generator and climb up the generator. Make a trampoline with the two nodes (the lever will automatically pull when you try to make a trampoline). Now you can jump off to the right and push the box unto the red button to the right.

Then climb back up the generator by grabbing your yarn tail. Using the trampoline to get to the top you will notice that there is a power cord next to an outlet to the left. This will activate a pounding barrel to the right (as long as the red button is also pressed. There will also be an electrical cord on the ground that will kill you if you touch it.

Before you go over there you have a secret to grab. Jump up and lasso a node off the screen to the right of the ladder in the background. Once you've lassoed it, swing to the left and jump onto the ladder. This will cause it to fall to the left and now you will be able to get the secret on the lampshade. Secret 28 of 55. Now head to the right, back to where your trampoline is. Jump off the right of the trailer coupler (the thing that attaches to the ball hitch on a truck) and grab the node that is on the chain to the upper right. The chain will detach and you can swing to the right where the red button is. Run under the crushing barrel as it's going up and grab the checkpoint.

As you're continuing to the right you should be able to see a secret below the sloped platform that you are on. Keep going to the right and drop down. Simply pull out the hard hat and get the secret to the left. Secret 29 of 55.

Now go to the right of the hard hat and push the wheel hub to the right a little. This will allow you to make two bridges on either side of the wheel hub. Push the hard hat up the two bridges and into the next gap. Jump onto the excavator's tread and run to the right. You will come to a box with two nodes on it. There's a faint red sparkle inside the box if you look carefully. That means that the secret is inside the box, so you'll have to smash it with the excavator.

Start by pull the box all the way to the left and making a trampoline on top of it. Then jump off the trampoline and lasso a handle from the cab of the excavator. Tie a knot here and drop back down to the ground. Then push the box all the way to the right so that it's up against the shovel. Do not pull the handle for drop the excavator bucket unless the box is in place! You'll have to replay the entire level if you do.

Now you can pull yourself back up the to the excavator cab with cn_LT. When you get on top of it, hold cn_LT and swing over the seat to the two handles inside the cab. Push the handle under the seat to swing the seat back up and then pull the on above it to drop the bucket, which should destroy the box and the mound of dirt.

From here drop back down to where the box was to get a secret and an achievement. Secret 30 of 55.

From here you just need to run to the right and swing once. This will give you the sixth missing piece. That is, until the carrion crow takes it.

When you're back in the house, the next level is right above you.

The first part of this level is a little cruel without a guide. You have to take the can from the left of the starting point and push it all the way to the right. As you're pushing it you may see a secret to the bottom right. To get there continue up the hill. There will be a sudden cliff. Drop off and quickly grab the first node to the left.

This next section can be very difficult but there are a few hints that will help immensely. Always tie a knot to every single node. And from here, until you get to the last ring, always hold cn_LT. Make sure you're highlighting the next node and briefly let go of cn_RT and immediately press it again. You should continue to hold down cn_LT. Then move cn_LSul to get rid of the slack and get closer to the next node. Tie a knot there and repeat the process two more times. Tie a knot, hold cn_LT the entire time, highlight node, briefly release cn_RT and immediately press it again, then move closer to reduce the slack.

On the last node, you will have to swing a little so continue to hold cn_RT and then release cn_LT. Swing until you get enough momentum, then release cn_RT to get this painful secret. Secret 31 of 55. Here, it is probably best to just reload the checkpoint so you don't have to bother going back through that mess.

Okay, continuing on the normal path. This is going to sound a little confusing, since it's a lot of swinging from many different nodes, but here goes. From the checkpoint, lasso the node to the right and swing to the wall of tire treads. Climb to the top and then lasso to the right node twice. From here drop down one node and swing to the right nodes two more times. This should take you to another wall of tire treads. Climb to the top and get the checkpoint.

Jump off the right and climb on the wall of tire treads to the right. There is a node on a cliff to the right, which you should tie a knot to. Then jump off and by holding cn_LT swing over to another node. Adjust for length if you're getting too short or long and continue swinging across three more nodes. Then swing and cliimb out of the hole to the right.

Once you're out of the hole you will be under a rock with a node on it. Jump up to the right side of the flat rock nearby. Lasso the node and pull the rock down. This will launch you at another secret. If you land a little short go into the alcove to the left. Secret 32 of 55. Climb back out of this alcove and head to the right until you get to an outlet box and a copper pipe. Tie a knot to the copper pipe and make a trampoline with the node to the bottom right. Jump up to the window and climb into the building.

This building has a ton of cockroaches on the ground that will kill Yarny for some reason. Tie a knot to the lampshade and swing to the left under the desk to land on a power strip. This will turn on a light and make this area safe. Go to the right and climb up an office chair and then onto the fax machine. To the right there is another light. The switch is the small button next to it. Press the button and knock the light off the right side so it hangs down.

Now start moving the office chair to the right and just before it goes into the darkness jump on it and then onto the next desk. Push the binder over and pull the switch by jumping on it. On top of that there is a something that looks like a letterbox or mail slot. Tie a knot to the handle and climb on the shelf to the left of it. Pull the power sander closer to the letterbox and tie a knot to that as well. Push the power sander to the left and it will allow you to go through the letterbox.

Back on the outside, you will be running across some power lines. When the lightning strikes the power lines, you will die if you're still on them. The ceramic insulators are safe to stand on, but you can get shocked if you are in the air next to a power line (like when you jump through platforms). That means you can't swing through one or quickly press cn_LSd + cn_A to jump through a platform to avoid the lightning. This is one of the hardest spots in the game and will easily ruin a deathless run. There are two ways to do this, although I much prefer the 2nd method, as it's a lot less risky.

  1. Depending on your reaction time you can go balls-to-the-wall and just run for it. This is so tight that input lag and TV delay will play a part in it. You should jump as the thunder makes a sound and the screen flashes so you're in the air when the lightning strikes the lines. This may take many times and is surprisingly difficult; luckily this area is very short.
  2. The lightning strikes in sets of three. The first gap is about 3 seconds, the second gap is about 4 seconds, and the third gap is about 7 seconds. You usually won't be able to get very far in the first two strikes, but the third gap is long enough to get to the next platform. Just take the area one platform at a time and don't try to get too daring. If you lose count just start over until you know it's safe again.

More simply: Strike---3 seconds---strike---4 second---strike---7 seconds... the next strike starts at the beginning. It can get a little confusing, since the count starts and ends on the same strike. That means you still have to wait three strikes until you are good to go again. It can take a while to get used to, but once you have it, you pretty much can't fail. In the video I jump once, then twice, then on the third one I run for it.

Start by running right to the first ceramic insulator and then up the lines to the left. Tie a knot on the node here and swing over to the satellite dish for a checkpoint. Make sure you don't accidentally get shocked while swinging to the right. This will automatically create a trampoline if you tied a knot to the previous node. Now use the trampoline to jump over the satellite dish to the left to find a secret. Secret 33 of 55. Now you can climb your yarn tail to get back to the checkpoint.

Head to the right on the top power line and be careful with your timing of jumps. After a short while you'll reach a dump bucket above you. Climb up to it and then lasso the node above you which will release it from the zip line. Get to the right side of it because you will have to time the next jump to land onto a conveyor belt. Lasso up the right side of the checkpoint and then push the light off to the left. When the light moves to the right you can use it to reach the ledge above it. Head to the right for a checkpoint.

This next section can be a little difficult to explain so if there's any confusion, refer to the video guide above. There is a large roller chain with nodes moving around. There are also a few copper coils that can shock you. Technically, these look like electromagnets but I don't understand why they're randomly on the exterior of construction machinery.

Anyways, you'll have to ride along the roller chain to progress in the level. Go onto the gear to the right and a node will come by on the roller chain above you. Once you lasso it you can climb up and you will see a secret above you, but you can't get it yet. You can also swing down and to the right to get to the next node on the roller chain or just wait it out on this one.

Now you will have to increase or decrease your distance from the node depending on where the copper coils are. Try not to swing too much as this will only make it easier to get shocked. For the first one below you, you will have to be close to the node and on the next one you will have to be far from the node. At this point there is a checkpoint, so quickly grab it and get back on the node.

For the next one you have to be close to the node. Then you can swing over to the left to get a checkpoint. This is about where you'll be able to get the secret that you may have seen earlier. Go to the left past the crushing piston and get back onto a node to the left. Here you can swing to get the secret. Alternatively, you can just jump off the piston to the left and you can hit it, but you'll probably die. Secret 34 of 55. This also unlocks an achievement.

The best way to get back is to swing to the gear to the bottom left and reload the checkpoint. Once you get back to the previous checkpoint you can stand on the piston to get shot up in the air and caught by a horizontal platform. Head to the right and there will be a node below you. Jump down the platform to the right of it and pull the piece of machinery out. Then push the bracket above it to the right. This will make two nodes appear that will allow you to make a trampoline and get to the next checkpoint.

Go to the left and swing across a node and climb up the wires. Run all the way to the right where there is a node on a latch. Lasso it and pull it to the right to open up the latch. This will automatically close behind you. Go to the left and push over the Swedish pipe wrench. This will scare the carrion crow away and reveal the piece that you've been looking for.

Go to the left and pull out the bottom drawer all the way. Now pull out the drawer that was above it to get the last secret of the level. Secret 35 of 55. Climb up to the checkpoint and pull on the node to the left. This opens up a hole in the wall to the left that you can go through.

Tie a knot to the electrical box and jump over the pipe to the right. Make sure you go over it so you can pull on the electrical box's latch. Then lasso the switch inside, turning off the power in the entire building. Head back through the hole in the wall to the right to return to the checkpoint.

Since it's dark the cockroaches will be back on the floor. You won't need to go down there now though. Lasso onto the light to the right. You might have to climb up it a little bit to make the next jump. Then jump to the crow nest to finish the level and unlock an achievement.

Back in the house you will be able to go to the room to the far right. Climb on top of the piano to find the next level.

There's an achievement for breaking all of the patches of ice in the level in one go. There are only 12 patches but it can be somewhat easy to forget when they are coming up. You can die in between getting them, you just can't exit out of the level.

Start off by going to the right. Down a steep hill will be the first patches of ice. They take two jumps to break and it's possible to get stuck or drown if you fall into some of them. On the second jump quickly jump again to safe ground so you don't have to deal with that. The water here isn't deep enough but it's difficult to jump out of it once one is broken. Ice 1&2 of 12.

Head a little more to the right and you'll come to a road with a tiny patch of ice. Ice 3 of 12. Just a little more to the right are three more patches of ice. Ice 4, 5, 6 of 12.

Further to the right you will have to make a trampoline to get over a fence. In the next area there is a seesaw/teeter-totter. Climb up it and go to the left side of it. Tie a knot to the end and go down to the node below it. Hold cn_LT to get rid of the slack and then tie a knot to hold down the seesaw/teeter-totter. Now go to the right side of it and make a trampoline to get a checkpoint.

Further to the right there is another river with 3 patches of ice to destroy. Ice 7, 8, 9 of 12. Here you can drown so if you land in the water quickly jump to the shore if you do. You can use the node above you to make sure you don't drown but it's honestly not too hard.

After the next checkpoint, you will get attacked by crows. This part is not too hard if you have some patience and always watch the skies for when the crows are coming. Just wait until a crow (or two) passes and then hide behind one of the items nearby. You can also use the nodes to swing you faster than walking would be able to. After the shovel, there is a bucket and then a box with a checkpoint in it.

From the checkpoint run right and make a trampoline, hiding if you can't make all of it at once. Then jump up onto a board. If a crow is nearby it won't be able to get you because the board breaks and you can continue to run to the right. Head into the building here.

Once you get in the building there is a block on the ground in front of you. You'll need to get this block all the way to the upper right corner of the screen to get a secret. First you have to make several bridges with yarn to be able to push it all the way up there. Start with the two nodes to your right and then trampoline up to the left and make a bridge there as well.

Make a bridge to the node to the left and then use this trampoline to jump up to the light fixtures. Make another bridge to the light fixture and then tie a knot to the right side of the light fixture. This won't create a bridge but you need this node to make a bridge to the next node. Now use the previous trampoline to jump up to the rope above. You have to use the edge of the trampoline and move to the right to make it to the rope. This may take a few tries.

When you lasso the club hammer to the right it will fall over and you should be able to see the secret behind it. Tie one last bridge to the handle of the club hammer and drop down to the bottom. If everything was done correctly you should be able to push the block all the way up to the secret. Secret 36 of 55.

From here you need to get the block to the platform below you, so just untie the last bridge to the club hammer and drop down with the block. Push it to the right and jump through the hole to the next screen. If you push the box too far just make the necessary bridges to get it to the hole.

This room has some very simple platforming to start out with. Run and lasso as needed over a hay wagon to the right. Then you'll need to swing on some nodes hanging from the ceiling. These also swing as you're hanging on them, so you may have to swing a little more than usual, but it's not terribly hard. When you reach the checkpoint, you are close to two secrets.

Go to the right and lasso the node on the hooked pulley block. Pull it to the left and use it to swing to the light's pull switch. From here you'll have to swing to the far left. Since there are three pivot points you're hanging from, each with a different weight, it helps to hang down farther on your yarn to get more momentum. On the screen to the left there is a paint can that you want to push the right so it's on the ground. Drop down to it but make sure you hold onto your yarn tail or the fall will kill you. Keep pushing the paint can to the right under the hay wagon to some more paint cans for the secret. Secret 37 of 55.

Now climb back up your yarn tail to go back to the previous checkpoint. From here tie a knot on the pulley block. Then swing over to the top of the lampshade to the left and make a trampoline there. Jump up to the attic and head right to find a secret in the bird nest. Secret 38 of 55. You can then go out the window to the right and rappel safely down the building.

Head to the right where there is a covered well. Pull up the hatches by lasso each side and pulling away from the well. Tie a knot to the left node on the well and rappel down to grab a secret. Secret 39 of 55. Climb back out and make a trampoline with the two nodes. Then jump up and stand on the handle for the well bucket.

Once the bucket reaches the top push it to the right to detach it. You'll need to flip it on top of you for the next part, so jump on the right side or try to climb up it and it will hopefully flip on top of you. With the safety of the bucket you will be able to just push it all the way to the right, past the birds. By the gate it will automatically flip off and you can continue to the river to the right.

Break through the first patch of ice to reveal a log that can be pull to the left. Then tie a knot to it which will create a trampoline. Jump off the trampoline to the node above and swing over to the secret on the right. Secret 40 of 55. Now drop back down and destroy all the patches of ice, being careful not to drown in the process. Ice 10, 11, 12 of 12. If you did it all in one go you should unlock an achievement.

Now head to the right and you will come to a sealed cistern. Make a bridge/trampoline with the two nodes to the right of it. Then lasso up to the hay wagon and pull down the tailgate. Run under the hay wagon to pull out a rusted wheel. Pull it all the way to the cistern. Untie the knot to the right of the cistern and make a bridge up to the tailgate. Then push the rusted wheel to the right and use it to jump onto a hay bale.

As you continue to the right you will come upon a Eurasian magpie trapped in a fence. It can't hurt you, only knock you back a bit. Lasso the fence and pull it off. Then lasso its claw to get taken to the end of the level and unlock an achievement.

When you're back in the house go to the far right room and climb the piano again to get to the next level.

There is an achievement in this chapter for clearing all the snowy branches in one go. It's not quite clear what it means by this, so it is best to clear every possible branch to avoid missing the achievement. Some you will have to pull on with your lasso and some you will just have to jump on.

This is another level that is a little cheap to start out with. First go left and lasso a pinecone down from the branch and push it to the right. It will turn into a large snowball and will help you reach the ledge to the next section.

Here there are two branches with snow on them. Snow 1, 2 of 29. Swing up them and continue to the right for another branch covered in snow. Snow 3 of 29. Continue to the right and there will be another branch covered in snow. Snow 4 of 29. This branch may fling you up to the secret to the upper left, but since it's pretty unreliable and you can't reload the checkpoint to try it again, an alternative method will be listed later.

Go to the right and there will be another branch that you can lasso up and another just to the right with some snow on it. Snow 5, 6 of 29. Go to the left and there will be a pinecone. If you can try to swing and hit the fallen branch right next to it to knock down some more snow. Snow 7 of 29. Hanging on the pine cone will make it drop, allowing you to push it all the way to a cave to the right to get some more yarn.

Head left out of the cave and climb up the branch above you again. Make a trampoline here and jump up to the branch above you. Snow 8 of 29. Right above the node on this branch there is a secret that is completely concealed. Secret 41 of 55. If you have trouble getting it here, you can get it when you are on top of the branch later.

Head to the left, jumping on the branch pointing towards the foreground and on the branch pointing to the left. Snow 9, 10 of 29. Then lasso the node above you and tie a knot here. This is just to get back from the next step. Jump to the left two snowy branches. Snow 11, 12 of 29. Now jump off to the left and lasso the node before you fall completely. Swing over to the secret on the branch to the left and then jump back on the pine tree to the right. Snow 13, 14 of 29. Secret 42 of 55.

Go to the right side of this tree and lasso the node to the right and make a trampoline with the two nodes here, clearing the left one of snow. Snow 15 of 29. Now use the trampoline to lasso the branch above you and swing to the right branch and clear the snow from it. Snow 16, 17 of 29. Climb up to the node and run to the right to get a whole line of snow. Snow 18 of 29.

Tie a knot to the first node here and make two bridges with the next two nodes. Knock the pinecone off the tree above the left trampoline and push it to the right. You will enter a cave and the snowball will be able to break the ice. From the checkpoint hold cn_LT and swing to the left below it to find a secret. Secret 43 of 55.

Climb back up to the checkpoint and head left out of the cave. Now you jump on the first trampoline to the cliffs to the right. Snow 19, 20 of 29. Keep going right up the snowy branches to get another checkpoint. Snow 21, 22 of 29. Make a trampoline with the node to the right and jump to a node up and to the left. Then swing over to the left pinecone to make it drop. Push it right until it breaks the branch, allowing you to go through to a little toboggan ride.

Keep going right over two branches and use the node above you to swing to another checkpoint. Snow 23, 24, 25 of 29. Not sure if the snow in the background counts but it's necessary to continue. Keep going right and there will be a snowy branch above you (by the first rock). Climb up it on the right side and go left to where the snow is. Hopefully this will fling you twice and get the secret on the branch far to the top right. Snow 26, 27, 28 of 29. Secret 44 of 55.

As you're walking to the right, you will fall through a snow-covered crevasse. Then you will have to go right and cross three ice stalagmites. Wait a second or two for them to start falling before you make the jump to the next one. Use the node in between the larger gap. After you swing on the node you will probably start to fall down another crevasse but your yarn is too short. Hold cn_LT and pull yourself back up to the checkpoint.

The next section doesn't allow a lot of freedom so make sure you're careful going down the crevasse. There are three more ice stalagmites and a node to swing you to another slope. The next node you'll probably lasso too close to it, so let some slack out so you can swing to the right.

Climb up to the branch above the checkpoint and start heading up the hill. Snow 29 of 29. At this point, if you've been getting all of the snow-covered branches, there is a good chance that the achievement will unlock. There are still some more snow-covered branches; so if you don't have it yet, there is still a chance that you could get it before the end of the level. I also died several times before making to this point and it still unlocked, so results may vary.

Heading up the hill there will be a branch above another toboggan ride. Snow 30 of 29. After the short ride lasso the branch above you and swing to the right. Snow 31 of 29. Pull down the pinecone above you and start rolling it to the right. Snow 32 of 29. Further to the right the pinecone will turn into a snowball and you'll be on an icy lake. There are two holes that have been carved out of the ice but they are switched. The small ice plug is on the right side and the large ice plug is on the left side.

So, jump over to the right side and push the small plug to the left. If you accidentally push it in the large hole you can lasso it and pull it out. Then push the large plug into the large hole to the right. Now you can continue to roll the snowball to the right. Use the snowball to reach the ledge high up and continue until you get the checkpoint.

There is a bench to the right, next to a camp stove. Make a trampoline between the two and jump onto the camp stove. Push the kettle off the left side and tie a knot to the right side of the camp stove. Then make a bridge to the bench and then to the bottom of the camp stove so you have several ramps set up. Go to the right and there will be a pinecone that you can roll up the ramps, turning it into a snowball in the process.

Push the snowball into the kettle and it will swing the pot holder lever up. Climb up it, lasso the antlers mounted on the firewood shed and tie a knot to this node. From here let out a lot of slack and then swing to the right to get the secret. Secret 45 of 55. Climb back up to the antlers and head right to end the level.

In the house go to the room to the right with the piano. Climb up it and start the next level.

Start out by running to the right until you get to a car (probably styled after a Volvo station wagon from the 60's). Make a trampoline on the right side and jump up to the node above. You're already starting to run out of yarn. Tie a knot to this node and then untie the knots in the trampoline. Climb back up to the top node and then untie the knot there.

Keep going right until you see two nodes on the body of a car. Make a trampoline here and jump over the barrier to the right. After the next checkpoint, you will encounter a tricky platforming section. From the stack of tires, jump onto the tire that starts rolling. When a car bumper comes within reach, jump to it. Then you have to jump back onto the rolling wheel and back onto a second bumper. From here you can jump to the stack of tires to the right.

From here you can see a node to the upper right side. Lasso that and make a trampoline between the two nodes here. It's a little difficult to get to the node with this trampoline, but it's up and to the right. Once you get to it, tie a knot. Then let out enough slack that you are almost to the trampoline. Start swinging back and forth until you get enough height to get the secret to the right. Secret 46 of 55.

Don't forget to untie the knot on the high node, because you'll be short on rope otherwise. Then get back to one of the nodes start swinging across the three nodes to the right. There's no rush, so take your time so you don't fall. Keep going right and climb the pile of tires.

When you get to the top you'll have to do some more tricky platforming. There are several tire towers that are going to fall like dominoes and you have to jump or swing to the next one before it falls to the ground. Once you get to the hooks with nodes, you can take a short break. The next tower won't fall until you land on it.

Keep heading right past the gas tank and you'll get to a checkpoint. Now swing over on the hanging node to another node on a small platform. Tie a knot to this node. Notice that there is a secret above the target. We'll come back for that in a little bit. Swing off while holding cn_LT to get to the can hanging from a string. To the right there is another can on a string. Push the thing hanging from it so it drops down. Now you can make a trampoline and jump up to the checkpoint. From the checkpoint, there is a secret down below. Jump off the right side and go to the left under the checkpoint and you'll get the secret. Secret 47 of 55.

Remember the secret that was above the target? Now it's time to get that. Climb up to the checkpoint and lasso to the right. Then swing a little and lasso to the right one more time. Now you will have to let out some string. Swing back and forth until you get a lot of momentum. Then get ready. Jump off to the left with as much momentum as you can. This should take you close to the secret. Just in case make sure to throw out a lasso so you can catch the can that is just to the right of it. Secret 48 of 55.

Now get back to the node that you just jumped really far from and instead of swinging to the left, swing to the right. You're aiming for the lit window on the building. Once inside you will be introduced to an interesting puzzle with a crane magnet. Drop down to the left of the car and you will see a foot pedal on the right with four buttons to the left of it.

First, bring the magnet down into the car to pull out a steel block. Then bring it over to the left where you came in. When it's all the way to the left turn off the power to the magnet with the foot pedal. Then pick the block back up and climb up to the secret that was inside the box. Secret 49 of 55. This will also unlock an achievement.

Find the secret in the engine room

Now take the steel box to the far right and drop it on a pallet as far right as the crane will go. Now you can climb up and lasso the node on the car. Make a trampoline on the right side with the two nodes over there and jump up to the steel box. Use it to reach the node above you and continue to the right.

Drop down to a lever and when it's in the down position tie a knot to the engine piping (probably the intake or exhaust manifold) below it. When done correctly this will keep the lever in the down position. Now climb back up to the top and swing over to the node on the right. Tie a knot here and swing to the right with cn_LT.

Head to the right and lasso up to get to a checkpoint. The next section has a lot of mufflers on a conveyor belt. Be careful of where they drop; an alarm will buzz when they are about to. Stand on one of them as they head towards the metal shredder. Jump up to the left just before it gets shredded. While up here, lasso one of the yellow boxes coming off the right conveyor belt. Then push it up the ramp to the left and then up the ramp to the right. Push it all the way right so it depresses the button which lifts a gate.

Tie a knot to the yellow box and swing off the right edge with cn_LT. Swing back and forth until you can jump to the checkpoint to the right. Now keep running right on the conveyor belt, watching out for the dropping car parts again. At the far right there will be two nodes, perfect for making a trampoline. Jump to the right and you get a checkpoint.

Here you have to be very fast or you'll get killed by the car crusher. To make it a little harder there is also a secret in the glove box. Run to the right and open the trunk/boot by pulling the latch. Then inside, go to the bottom of the front seat. Pull it back so it folds down. Then, while on the top of the seat lasso the glove box to get the secret. Secret 50 of 55.

Quickly jump up to the window and press the button to the right to stop the car crusher. If you want you can just run for the off switch and then go back for the secret. When you're done go to the right to finish the level.

Time will catch up in Unravel

Once you are back in the house you can go to the piano room. The next level is the picture frame by the far right window.

This is a nice short chapter without any collectibles or miscellaneous achievements. You pretty much just pull a lantern for a few minutes and do a few easy puzzles. If you try to get away from the lantern when the wind is blowing you'll die, so watch out for that.

Start by lassoing the lantern to pull it down. Then while you are pulling it, just use cn_RT. If you use both triggers you're going to be moving very slow. Just keep pulling it right until you get to the first checkpoint. Then there will be a light on a pole. Wait for the wind to die down a little and pull it down to create a bridge for the lantern.

The next thing you'll have to pull down is a branch. You can also just hold onto the branch when the wind blows. Then when the wind slows again try to climb up the branch with the checkpoint and it will fall down.

As you are going up the hill, you have to tie a knot to each node here. This time when the wind blows it will take you and the lantern. So, for this part, you want to hold both cn_RT and cn_LT when the wind blows. One will hold you to the previous knot, and the other will keep the lantern from going too far. Make sure you're not getting too much slack on the yarn that is holding the lantern or you won't make very much progress. To get rid of the slack let go of cn_RT and then press it again while the lantern node is highlighted.

When you get to the top of the hill lasso the gate latch to open it. Now the wind won't blow the lantern so you can go back to just holding cn_RT. When you get to the river the ice will start to break up. Now you won't have to worry about the lantern anymore. Just jump across the floating pieces of ice. If you land in the water you can get to a piece of ice by rapidly pressing cn_A, and hopefully you will reach a piece before you drown.

After a while there will be a checkpoint on a branch. Lasso up to it and continue on the pieces of ice on the other side. These are especially small so you'll have to tap cn_A quite a bit until you reach land again.

Once you do reach land you don't have the lantern again so you'll just have to let the wind blow you away. It won't kill you this time around though. After a while you won't be able to progress unless you lasso a node in the snow before the wind blows.

From here just keep walking to the right until the level is finished.

The end is not the end in Unravel
Find the other broken half piece

Every time that you're done with this level you will go straight to the next level. If you just need to get to the last level, you can get there by going to the window on the far right side of the house.

This is a short chapter that has a completely different feel to it. The level is covered with glowing orbs that you can lasso. These will go darting off above you, pulling you with it. The direction is determined by which way you are facing but can be fairly random. Then it will quickly disappear. You don't have to worry about fall damage, so you can enjoy the freedom of the level while going for one miscellaneous achievement for lassoing 25 different nodes without touching the ground.

Because of the quick movement and the lack of distinct landmarks, it may be better to watch the video. There will be also screenshots showing where the hidden secrets are.

Start by going to the right and lasso the node to get flung up. Then there's another orb that will take you over a pool of water. To the right there will be a rock that you fly over with a birch in the foreground. The next tree in the background has a secret at the top of it. For this one it seems to work better if you hold cn_LSu and mostly catch the orbs in the middle of the trunk. If you go off to the sides too much you'll get launch into the wrong direction. Secret 51 of 55.

Now drop down to the ground and run to the right. You will come a vertical stump that is still in the ground. From here lasso up and to the right several times to get to the next secret. This one is much easier to get than the last one. Just try not to swing too violently. Secret 52 of 55.

Continuing on you'll soon get to a part where there are no more high nodes that you can reach. It's a field with lots of white flowers and a blue haze in the background. From here there is something that looks like a ditch a little further to the right. From here you want to go up and to the left and follow the path of orbs. It will lead you back to the tree that you recently passed. It seems best to make short lassos so you don't swing to wildly. The secret is on a branch, obscured by some leaves. Secret 53 of 55.

Continue on the ground to the right until you get to a fallen log. This one actually doesn't need a picture, because all you have to do is hold cn_LT and drop down to a little log boat. Secret 54 of 55.

From the fallen log, there is another secret to the upper right, sort of near the top of tree that snapped. This one isn't too hard to find. Secret 55 of 55!

Now that you have all the secrets you can head to the right to finish the game. There aren't really any puzzles or obstacles. Just a cutscene and the credits. If you want to navigate through the credits to focus on the pictures or look up names, you can with cn_LS.

At this point you should have all the achievements except for two. If you don't you can always replay levels to get collectibles or miscellaneous achievements. One achievement is for getting all the other achievements, so really there's only one achievement that you have to try for, and it's quite difficult. You have to make it through all the levels without dying. That means you only have to get through one level at a time without dying. Levels that you have done this for will have a small crown on the picture frame. At this point in time there are no exploits to get around a death. If you die, you'll have to restart the entire level over again.

Follow the video guides if you forgot how a certain puzzle works. It is going to be slightly easier this time around as you won't have to get the collectibles or miscellaneous achievements. "How much is enough" is probably the hardest level in the game. The unpredictable cockroaches, difficult jumps and the cruel power lines make this level very hard to do in one go. "Berry mire" and "Rust" may also cause some problems. But a lot of the levels you just need a little patience. Practice the hardest parts of each level until you can do them flawlessly.

Eventually, you should get the achievement for finishing every level without dying. Of course, you should also get the achievement for getting all other achievements.
