Rainbow Six Siege Walkthrough

Welcome to the Trueachievements walkthrough for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The purpose of this walkthrough is to serve as a roadmap to obtain all of the achievements in this game in the fastest and most effective way possible. Many of the achievements are easily obtained, while a few others require more dedication.

Rainbow Six Siege can be categorized under the 'semi-realistic' first-person-shooter genre. This means that you should not expect automatic recovery from injuries after you have taken damage and you are not able to respawn after you are killed. Being killed means you will have to entertain yourself with the spectator mode for the remainder of the round so tread carefully. Tactics, caution, and communication are vital elements in this game. The game puts a strong focus on competitive and cooperative play and therefore completely lacks a narrative storyline or campaign.

The general tips & tricks is where you will be given some general information about this game and its achievements. At the situations page, we will discuss the achievements that are tied to the singleplayer situations gamemode. At the multiplayer page, we will discuss the multiplayer achievements. At the Terrorist Hunt page, we take a closer look at the time-consuming achievements that can be earned in the Terrorist Hunt playlist. On this page, you will also find many of the 'general' achievements that one can easily achieve over time such as purchasing all operators in a single CTU, customizing 30 weapons, etc. The reason why these are listed here is because the Terrorist Hunt achievements require us to grind for a bit. This grinding comes with the added benefit that we will accumulate quite a lot of money and XP that allows us to pick up these achievements there if you haven't acquired them before we have to resort to grinding.

Let's move on.

First, let us start with a quick introduction in regards to the fundamentals of this game.

Game modes

The achievements for this game are spread between the 3 separate game modes:

1) Situations
Situations are standalone missions that can only be completed in while playing solo. You play on the same maps that are used in multiplayer and terrorist hunt. You are tasked to complete a main objective while there are 3 secondary objectives that are optional to complete for higher rewards and additional achievements.

2) Multiplayer
Multiplayer is the classic Player versus player that this game focuses on. You will face other players in a number of objective oriented games (Hostage, Secure Area, Bomb). Each game has multiple rounds where teams take turn as defender and attacker. These rounds either end when the objective is fulfilled or in the far more common scenario when all the opponents are killed.

3) Terrorist Hunt
Terrorist Hunt is the cooperative gamemode that can also be played solo. You face AI-controlled adversaries while you are tasked to carry out specific objectives (Classic , Hostage Extraction, Protect Hostage or Disarm Bombs)

Renown & XP

Renown is the currency within Rainbow Siege, it is earned after completing and winning multiplayer matches, terrorist hunt missions, and even single player situations. Renown is used to purchase new operators, weapons, skins and add-ons for your weapons.

Experience (or XP for short) is also earned by playing all gamemodes and indicates how high your level is. The only benefit to having a high rank is that you will not unlock the ranked playlist until you reach level 20. In addition to that there is an achievement for reaching level 50. No unlocks or rewards are tied to your XP level.

You will find a wide variety of different operators in this game, each and every one has unique abilities that can be used during your games and each and every single one of them provides a certain advantage. These operators need to be purchased with renown before you can use them.

Every operator can only be used by one person, per round. That means that if your teammate choses the operator of your choice then you will not be able to select that operator and have to pick another one or... lacking having another operator, have to resort to playing with the recruit. The recruit has default weapons and gadgets and has no add-ons on his weapons.

Operators are divided in defensive and offensive operators and it is important that you find yourself well stocked with operators in both categories because you will not be able to use defensive operators while your team is attacking or the other way around, use an offensive operator while you are defending.

Operators belong to teams such as the FBI, SAS, CS9 etc. Even though this does not serve as limitation during play (you are never limited to a single team, so it's possible that you are playing with the FBI while your teammates are Spetnatz, GIGN and SAS for example), it does have an effect on the price of operators. Every operator you purchase within a single team is more expensive than the last one. The first one will be cheaper than the second, who in turn is cheaper than the third. The last operator in a team is vastly more expensive than your first purchase. Whoever is your first purchase is entirely up to you so pick wisely.

1st operator: 500 credits
2nd operator 1000 credits
3rd operator: 1500 credits
4th operator: 2000 credits

Most achievements in this game are fairly straight forward but several require more extensive play or require you to make kills in a rather extraordinary manner. This walkthrough attempts to aid you in obtaining all achievements through regular play but it is worth noting that there is a number of achievements where the conditions for unlocking them are more a matter of luck than skill and one could opt to join boost sessions to get those out of the way instead. Certain achievements such as completing a Terrorist Hunt mission of realistic difficulty also require a level of communication that is hard to find when joining random lobbies. Having buddies to play with is by no means a requirement to earn every achievement in this game but it would make it significantly easier.

The achievements are roughly separated in 4 categories. Achievements related to situations, multiplayer, terrorist hunt, and what I will call the general category that transcend the playlists such as achievements for obtaining all operators, reaching a certain rank, etc. You can progress towards these achievements regardless of what playlist you play and generally speaking it does not matter in what order you wish to pick up these achievements.

This walkthrough will pick up the achievements in the following order:

1st : Situations : This will let us familiarize with the game while picking up quite a bit of renown before we hop into the multiplayer. The situations serve as a tutorial and cover all the objective game types and maps that we will also come across during multiplayer and Terrorist Hunt.

2nd: Multiplayer : The achievements in this category are not necessarily time consuming but they require very specific victories, kills and actions.

3rd: Terrorist Hunt: The most time consuming achievements in Siege are found in the Terrorist Hunt playlist and chances are you will not be finished with these achievements when you have already picked up every other achievement in the game, such as earning level 50 and obtaining every operator in the game.

Before we start, it is worth noting that there is an achievement that requires you to save up 5000 renown. This is not an exceptionally high amount but it requires you to briefly keep your money in your pocket until you have saved up that amount. If you want you can do this right at the start of the game. This walkthrough will start with the singleplayer situations and during these missions you cannot play with your desired operator or weapons so there is no need for you to spend your renown at this stage. However, if you wish to purchase a few operators to get you started and save yourself from having to play with the recruit every game, then that is perfectly fine. The achievement will come in due time.

Secondly: Watching the tutorial videos from the main menu for the first time grants you 800 renown. This renown is enough to purchase your first operator unless you wish to save up. At this point, I recommend purchasing the CS9 operator 'IQ'. She comes in handy soon. You can purchase operators from the main menu under the 'operators' tab. Here you will find the option 'Unlock Operator'. IQ can be found in the CSG9 team (yellow).

This should also unlock your first achievement:

Taking Point in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Unlock one of the 10 Original Attack Operators.
  • Unlocked by 100,941 tracked gamers (86% - TA Ratio = 1.07) 116,830

Use the remaining renown to purchase an attachment for IQ's weapon, such as a scope or silencer. This will unlock:

Designer11 (10)
Customize a Weapon. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 91,761 tracked gamers (79% - TA Ratio = 1.12) 116,830

Let's move on!

The situations are Rainbow Six Siege's alternative to a singleplayer campaign. They are standalone scenarios where you are placed in one of the multiplayer/Terrorist Hunt maps and are tasked to carry out an objective while AI enemies stand between you and that goal.

Each mission has 3 secondary goals that can be completed for an additional star. These stars do not have to be obtained in a single attempt, so it's possible to complete one secondary objective and then complete the other 2 in another attempt(s).

There is an achievement for earning all stars, but there is no achievement for doing this on the Realistic difficulty so feel free to set the difficulty to 'normal'. Our fellow TrueAchievement user 'Papa Smurf U' was kind enough to make videos of every single situation while obtaining every single star in a single attempt. Please leave a like and/or subscribe if you like his videos!

Upon completing all 10 situations, you will unlock a bonus mission that does not have secondary objectives. More about this mission at the bottom of this page...

NOTE: Completing all these missions with 3 stars will earn you a sum in the ballpark of 7000 renown. If you stick to doing the singleplayer situations before hopping into the multiplayer, you will have no reason to spend any of that renown until you are ready to jump into the multiplayer (in single player, you do not get to play with the operator or weapons of your choosing). I recommend saving up your renown until you have accumulated 5000 renown and earn:

Bonus Mission - Article 5

-No secondary objectives

This mission deserves a little bit of extra information, because even though it is listed as a singleplayer situation, you will actually be matched into a Terrorist Hunt game where you will team up with other players who may have selected this mission from their 'situations' list just as you have, or with players who are searching for Terrorist Hunt through regular matchmaking (this mission is part of the regular Terrorist Hunt cycle in matchmaking but the achievement for this mission can only be obtained if you select it from your 'situations' list).

You are dropped into a 'Defuse Bomb' scenario on a college campus that has been hit by a gas attack. This gas significantly impairs your vision. Your enemies will seemingly not be affected by the lack of sight and might catch you by surprise so you should tread very carefully.

If you have purchased 'IQ' as was suggested at the 'General tips and tricks' page then you can use her gadget to locate the position of the bomb. You can scan the 4 possible bomb locations from the outside of the building, without actually having to enter so you will be relatively safe while locating the bombs.

1st bomb spot: When At the first corner that you encounter. If you do not get a hit then move towards the right side , past the front entrance of the university.
2nd bomb spot: The first corner you find when crossing the front entrance of the university, if you do not get a hit then move on.
3rd bomb spot: This one is all the way in the left back (where the lowered part of the roof is). Stand on the lowered roof and scan the inside of the building.
4th bomb spot: Directly below the 3rd one.

When you have found the bombs, you need to clear out the room where the bomb is located in (hopefully with the help of your teammates) and plant a defuser. Plant this defuser either tucked away really well, where enemies will have a hard time reaching it, or plant it right in the middle of the room where you and your teammates have a perfect line of sight at it, such as on top of a table. Enemies will attempt to defuse the bomb even when they are shot at so you can exploit this by just shooting them off the defuser one by one. You will have to fight off waves of enemies until the defuser is done.

Repeat this process for the second bomb, and you are done.

Article 5 in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Article 596 (50)
Complete mission Article 5.
  • Unlocked by 31,569 tracked gamers (27% - TA Ratio = 1.92) 116,830

This concludes the achievements related to Situations. Let's move on to the Multiplayer!

External image

Time to start with the multiplayer and its achievements. Rainbow Six has always been a series where tactics and communication play a dominant role. Contrary to what I will refer to as the 'run & gun' shooters is there no respawn after you die. You do not automatically regenerate health and a reckless unplanned approach is far more likely going to end in an unfortunate end rather than an insane multikill.

The priority on tactical semi-realistic play can be found in the fact that the multiplayer at the time of writing this walkthrough does not feature a classic team death match playlist but exclusively focuses on objective gamemodes. However, even though the classic TDM is missing, matches often play out as if they were deathmatch games due to the fact that every round also ends when all your enemies are defeated. As a result, the objective is often of secondary concern during most rounds.

Every round starts with a deployment phase. During this phase attackers get to use remote control camera drones for a short amount of time which they can use to spot enemies and locate their objective in the map. If they do not manage to locate the bomb/hostage/etc, then they will not know its location and there will be a serious chance they will be unable to complete their objective within the limited timeframe of the round. Defenders can use the deployment phase to fortify the area around their objective, hide themselves somewhere in the map, or make preparations by setting traps.

After the deployment phase, the action phase begins. The attackers will spawn and initiate their attack. At this point defenders are no longer allowed outside the main structure in the map. Wandering outside this structure alerts attackers of this defender and/or instantly kills the adventuring defender, depending on the game mode.

The majority of the multiplayer achievements for Rainbow Six Siege can be roughly divided into 2 categories.

2) Kill X amount of enemies using weapon X

2) Perform a specific action on a specific map/gametype

3) Miscellaneous

We are going to take care of the achievements in the first category first but you should not pass up on the opportunity to do some of the following things when you are presented with the possibility to do so:

-Make kills with your Nitro Cell (C4) if you have the chance to do so
-Kill enemies after you have stunned them with a stun grenade or with Blitz shieldflash
-Destroy camera drones used by the attackers
-Kill with a breach charge
-Revive allies whenever you can

We will make these kills the focus of our attention later, but we will be playing quite a few games in order to clear out the achievements that fall under the first category, so you might want to hit two birds with one stone and use these matches to progress towards the type of kills/conditions that I have listed above this paragraph.

If you are going to spend the renown you earn on operators, I recommend obtaining these if you want to make the most efficient progress for your achievements (in order of priority):

1st - One of the following defenders: PULSE, SMOKE,BANDIT, MUTE or KAPKAN (For their Nitro cell)
2nd - Any attacker that has a Breach Charge, preferably Blitz (CSG9) because we need him for another achievement later on)
3rd - Thermite(FBI) (for his exothermic charge).

Let us focus on the first category first..

The next couple of achievements require us to play in a specific manner. Do not be troubled because despite the fact that many of these achievements are based on luck, there are strategies that can turn the odds in your favor.

This part of the chapter of the walkthrough will not longer be linear in the sense that we will not pick up the achievements in a specific order anymore. Some require us to be defenders while others require us to be attacker. Since you switch between attacker and defender roles each round and luck has to be in your favor more often than not, there is really no telling what achievement you will pick up first. I recommend that you keep reading this page until you reach the CATEGORY 2 subchapter of this walkthrough page.

During rounds that you play as defender you should reinforce doors and windows by holding the cn_X button while in front of it. This will barricade them with wood. After reinforcing 5 doors or windows, you will unlock:

Woodworker in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Woodworker24 (20)
Place 5 Barricades as a Defender in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer.
  • Unlocked by 81,003 tracked gamers (69% - TA Ratio = 1.20) 116,830

When you are a defender, you should be on the lookout for the little camera drones that the attackers use during the deployment phase. You are able to destroy them by shooting them. After the action phase begins, the camera drones will still be at the location where the attacker that operated them left them when the action phase began (unless him or her resumes control of the drone after the action phase has begun). Shoot 5 of these drones and you will unlock:

Blind Ambition in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Destroy 5 drones in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 73,909 tracked gamers (63% - TA Ratio = 1.25) 116,830

At the beginning of this page, I recommended that you should unlock PULSE, SMOKE, BANDIT, MUTE, or KAPKAN as these are the operators that can use Nitro Cell or more commonly referred to as 'C4'.

When you purchase your first DEFENSIVE operator you will unlock :

On Your Six in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Unlock one of the 10 Original Defense Operators.
  • Unlocked by 96,701 tracked gamers (83% - TA Ratio = 1.09) 116,830

What you want to do is leave the room where your objective is located in and head towards one of the attacker spawns that is relatively far from your defensive objective.
In social/casual game modes, the game will most likely prevent attackers from spawning very close to your objective (contrary to ranked where attackers can pick their own deployment location).

Now plant your C4 on one of the barricaded windows or doors that are most commonly used by enemies. A lot of enemies do not expect defenders to be that far away from their objectives, and as long as one of the camera drones has not spotted you, there is a very serious chance that the attackers will just carelessly bash in a door or window. Peek underneath until you see feet or a hole in the barricade appear and then blow it up in their faces. Alternatively, you can shoot enemies into an injured position and chuck C4 on him.

Once you have 10 of these kills, you will unlock :

Wrong Number in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Kill 10 enemies with Nitro Cell in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 23,803 tracked gamers (20% - TA Ratio = 2.21) 116,830

Now would be an excellent time to purchase Blitz if you haven't already. Blitz carries a riot shield that has a bright flashlight on it then can temporarily blind enemies. This option counts as a stun grenade for your 10 stun grenade kills, and since the stun grenade itself is a rather unreliable tool, I highly recommend using Blitz for the job. Blitz only carries a sidearm and the range on both the weapon he is wielding, as well as the flashlight he is using to blind enemies is rather limited so you should focus on creating short range scenarios for yourself.

Once you have 10 of these kills you will unlock :

Senseless in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Senseless24 (10)
Kill 10 enemies blinded from Stun Grenade in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer.
  • Unlocked by 20,480 tracked gamers (18% - TA Ratio = 2.38) 116,830

If one were to consider boosting one achievement for this game it should be the next one. The achievement requires us to make a kill with the Breach Charge and this really comes down to simple luck. The breach charge itself barely does enough damage to kill an enemy that is standing right behind the wall/door or window that the charge is placed on. The charge is easily destroyed if enemies simply shoot or punch through the barricade that the charge is placed on.

Then how to obtain this achievement?

First, you must be attacker and you must have a breach charge in your loadout (Blitz can be equipped with a breach charge). First and foremost, it helps if you have been playing this game for a while and know where enemies tend to camp. Make use of your camera drone to see where defenders are laying in cover. In the meeting hall of the 'Plane' map are often opportunities to place breaching charges on the walls right next to the favorite camp spots of the defenders.

The most common way to get this achievement is to be on a team that is getting its ass kicked while your enemy (the defenders) still has the numbers to make them feel comfortable enough to roam around the area and search for you. You wish to barricade a door or plant your breach charge on one of the doors that the enemy has barricaded. Once most of the people in your team are dead, chances are the defenders will start roaming around the area, searching for you. Lay flat on the ground behind the door that you have rigged with a breach charge until you see feet appear on the other side. Once you do, quickly detonate the breach charge. If you were too late, then the guy on the other side might bash a hole in the barricade and consequently destroy your breach charge.

Downing an enemy is not enough to get this achievement. He must be dead but you can place your breach charge next to a downed enemy if he happens to be sitting on a surface that can be breached (the top floor of consulate for example). Last men standing in teams can never be downed and will always instantly die (unless it's a Doc). Placing your breach charge on a reinforced metal door that was put up by castle prevents enemies from shooting through the cover and destroying your breach charge. If you wish to peak underneath doors until you see feet then placing your breach on a metal door is a relatively safe bet).

All in all, this is based on luck, and through patience and dedication, you will eventually unlock:

Meat Wall in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Meat Wall50 (20)
Kill an enemy with a Breach Charge in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 18,923 tracked gamers (16% - TA Ratio = 2.48) 116,830

The last achievement that requires a special kill is one that you will have to make a kill while your enemy is trapped in barbed wire. This can be your barbed wire or that of your teammates. Place your barbed wire on a popular route or hallway, even potentially next to the objective (most people are afraid to shoot/punch right next to a hostage because they might kill it) and camp that spot. Be sure to get a straight up kill because 'downing' the enemy won't count for this achievement. You can ensure a straight up kill by shooting a headshot.

This will unlock:

Don't go in There! in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Kill an Attacker inside a Barbed Wire in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 52,805 tracked gamers (45% - TA Ratio = 1.48) 116,830

NOTE: From this point forward, you will no longer be needing specific operators so you can start saving up to accumulate 5000 renown or purchase operators as you see fit. You will eventually need to acquire all operators, as well as the majority of their weapons and weapon attachments.

In order to obtain these achievements (performing specific actions on specific maps) you must try to ensure that you get to play on the required map before you can even attempt to meet the conditions in order to unlock the achievements that correspond with those scenarios.

You can significantly increase the odds of getting the right combination of map and game type by going to 'options 'and then 'matchmaking preferences'. In this menu you will find a list of all maps and all game modes. As default all the boxes will be checked. You should uncheck all these boxes and then only check the ones for the combination that you need.

For example

Win a match of TDM - Hostage in "Hereford" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)

This achievement requires you to play 'TDM-Hostage' game mode on the map 'Hereford'. Uncheck everything except for Hostage and Hereford before you start matchmaking. Changing these preferences is no guarantee that you will not be matched on other maps (being matched in a different game type than the one you have selected is a rarity) but it improves the chances of getting the desired combination between map and game mode. Alternatively you just start playing without changing any settings and you just hope for the best. This is a viable option because there is an achievement for winning 50 rounds and chances are you pick up a few of the required combinations/achievements through regular play. Changing the settings to prioritize the proper combinations is quicker though. Search until you find the right map+gamemode or keep playing until the map+gamemode makes an appearance.

It may take a while for the Hereford map to be cycled through but after you and your team have managed to win you will obtain:

Who Dares in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Who Dares34 (20)
Win a match of TDM - Hostage in "Hereford" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 39,911 tracked gamers (34% - TA Ratio = 1.71) 116,830

NOTE: For the next achievements you need to have an offensive operator that has a breach charge. Purchase one if you do not have one yet.

Next achievement is slightly easier because it no longer requires us to win the game but simply perform a rather easy action on the map 'House'. Once again, uncheck all boxes except for the House map and pick whatever game mode you favor. Once you are on the ATTACKING side, pick any operator that has a breach charge. When you deploy, make your way to the back of the house and rappel up to the first floor. Go through one of the windows and when you find yourself in the center of the house at the top of the stairs you will see a square platform on the floor, indicating that you can breach through here. Simply place your breach charge on the floor here and detonate your breach charge for an easy achievement.

Here is a videoguide in case you would like a visual reference. Credit for the video goes to Maka91

NOTE: this achievement can also be earned in Terrorist Hunt

Death from Above in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Breach a Floor or Ceiling in "House" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 46,303 tracked gamers (40% - TA Ratio = 1.58) 116,830

The next achievement is also relatively easy to obtain. We wish to play on the level 'Bank' and the game mode does not matter. This achievement can only be obtained on the DEFENSIVE side and you must be an operator. The recruit cannot earn this achievement (he can only put up one reinforced wall instead of the two we need) You need to reinforce 2 soft walls with plates of metal. Simply walk up to a soft wall and hold cn_X to place a metal wall against it. Do this twice to unlock the achievement. Once again a visual reference in case you are struggling:

NOTE: this achievement can also be earned in Terrorist Hunt

Fortress in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Fortress20 (15)
Reinforce 2 breakable walls in "Bank" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 67,904 tracked gamers (58% - TA Ratio = 1.31) 116,830

For the next one we wish to uncheck all the boxes again but this time we wish to select the map 'Plane'. This achievement requires us to successfully defend the meeting room, which means your team must pick/be assigned Meeting room as their location and then win one round on it while they are defenders. This achievement can also be earned in Terrorist Hunt where you can play solo and where you get to decide what your deployment location is, but the risk of playing solo is that there is no one to revive you. Playing this on Terrorist Hunt solo pits you against riot shields, suicide bombers and 4 waves of enemies. One could argue that simply winning one round in multiplayer is the easier alternative.

Regardless of what approach you took, you should unlock the following achievement if you were successful in your defense:

Air Force One in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Defend the Meeting Room in "Plane" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 59,613 tracked gamers (51% - TA Ratio = 1.39) 116,830

Next map is "Consulate'. Once again, we do not have to concern ourselves with the game mode so pick whatever you fancy. You need to be on Attacker and you need to pick an operator that has a breach charge.

Once we spawn we are going to run up to the building and rappel up on the side. You should now place your breach charge on one of the windows, get clear of the blast radius and blow it up. After that, all you have to is rappel through the window you have just breached and another easy achievement is yours:

Coming through! in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Breach and rappel through a window in "Consulate" in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 66,968 tracked gamers (57% - TA Ratio = 1.32) 116,830

After achieving the achievement listed above, we are going to repeat the same process but this time, you wish to select ' TDM - Secure Area' as your game mode and 'Clubhouse' as your map. All you need to do is win this combination. No other specific actions are required.

If you have successfully been matched into the right map and the right game type, your assignment is once again to win the game. Upon victory, you will unlock:

Sausage Fest in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Win a match of TDM - Secure Area in "Clubhouse" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 53,230 tracked gamers (46% - TA Ratio = 1.48) 116,830

Now for the next achievement, you can select all the maps you like but you should only keep TDM-Secure Area selected as your game mode. We need to be attackers for this achievement and this achievement is actually earned in the deployment phase. We need to use our camera drone to locate the enemy objective within 20 seconds. Your drone needs to be the one that locates the objective, if your teammate finds it then it will not count. You start at :45 seconds so you must have found the objective before the timer hit :25. This is luck based. Having a decent understanding of possible objective locations goes a long way in regards to this achievement. Fortunately, all the other achievements that come after this no longer concern themselves with specific maps or game modes, so just keep your game mode limited to TDM - Secure Area while you work on the rest of the achievements that are detailed below:

That was Fast! in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Find the Objective in TDM - Secure Area within 20 seconds in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 61,620 tracked gamers (53% - TA Ratio = 1.37) 116,830

You can now toggle all maps back on, as well as all game modes or stick with whatever maps and/or game modes you have enjoyed the most. For the coming achievements you are free to play whatever game type or map that you like.

Now for the last achievement in the 'perform specific actions on specific maps' achievement we will need Thermite(FBI). Purchase Thermite if you haven't already. For this achievement the map, nor game mode are of any importance. This achievement can be earned on any map. Thermite's special ability allows him to destroy reinforced walls with an exothermic breach charge. You need to be attacker. All you have to do is look for a room where you see the metal spikes coming out of the other side of the wall that indicate that, that wall has been reinforced. Place your exothermic charge on that wall and detonate it, your charge will cut through the wall and create a hole for you and your teammates.

-You can do this from either side of the wall
- There is a chance the enemy has electrically charged the wall, if that is the case your exothermic charge will automatically be destroyed when you try to place it. You can test if the wall is charged by simply running into the wall and checking if you take damage. (Yes, running into the wall is a good thing for once...)
-If the enemy team has a MUTE operator and he has a signal jammer placed on the other side of the wall, then your breach will not work, but it will not be destroyed either. You can destroy the signal jammer and then detonate your breach afterwards.

Here is a visual aid made by Maka91:

Destroy a Reinforced Wall with the Thermite Charge in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)

There are only 3 achievements left in the Multiplayer-category of this game.

2 out of 3 of these achievements are tied to the ranked multiplayer playlist which is unlocked upon reaching level 20.

If you have not reached level 20 by the time that you have completed all of the achievements listed above, then you should head over to the next page of this walkthrough and indulge yourself in the pleasures and possible achievements of the last game type that Rainbow Six Siege has to offer: Terrorist Hunt. Terrorist Hunt also earns you experience that contributes towards your rank and there is nothing for us to work on in the multiplayer until we have reached rank 20 while Terrorist Hunt has some of the most time-consuming achievements in this game within its ranks. Your time would be better spend in that playlist until you have reached rank 20.

Assuming that you ARE rank 20, then you can now work towards the last 3 achievements in the multiplayer category.

Upon reaching rank 20 you unlock the ranked playlist. All you have to do is play 3-4 in this playlist. This game will give you a temporary assessment based on your performance during these first few games. After said games it will give you a skill rank that serves as a reflection of skill level. This rank can increase and decrease based on your performance.

There are couple of differences when playing ranked (compared to casual):

Ranked matches have voting on spawn/objective location
Ranked matches do NOT have Death Replays
Ranked matches will utilize a minimal HUD setting
No scoring indicators
No grenade indicators
No threat indicators
No reload indicators
No teammate outline
No kill confirmation marker

Upon reaching a skill rank, you will unlock:

Ranked in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Ranked18 (10)
Receive a Skill Rank in Ranked Multiplayer.
  • Unlocked by 35,772 tracked gamers (31% - TA Ratio = 1.80) 116,830

The final real multiplayer challenge presents itself in the form of an achievement that requires you to win a game in the ranked playlist without losing a single one of the 4 rounds that you play. There is no guaranteed way to obtain this achievement and it is most likely achieved through regular play. Obviously it helps if you tackle this with friends or partners that you can communicate and coordinate with. If you still find yourself, struggling then you should get 2 groups of people together who all have their matchmaking preferences set to the exact same limited setting (all search for Hostage on Plane for example) while unchecking all the other boxes and then search at the same time. Take turns with your flawless victories.

No matter if you win this legitimately or boost, eventually you'll find yourself in the lucky position that either half your opponents team lags out or you are teamed up with Jason Statham, Chuck Norris, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. You will eventually pick up this achievement:

One Mind in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Win 1 match without losing a single round in Ranked Multiplayer. (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 36,942 tracked gamers (32% - TA Ratio = 1.77) 116,830

Now, the last achievement in the multiplayer category is one you might have picked up a long time ago and if not you will be really close by the time you have finished all of the achievements listed above. You need to win 50 rounds of multiplayer in casual or ranked matches. This comes through regular play and does not require further explanation:

Objective Driven in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Win a round 50 times in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer.
  • Unlocked by 57,225 tracked gamers (49% - TA Ratio = 1.42) 116,830

Now that that is taken care of, we should head to Terrorist Hunt!

External image

Terrorist Hunt is the cooperative mode of Rainbow Six Siege. Instead of actual players, you will now face AI enemies. You can play this mode alone or with up to 4 friends/matchmade players. There are 4 different scenarios:

1) Classic: This is the Terrorist Hunt that we have seen in previous Rainbow Six installments. The sole goal is to eliminate all enemies on the map.
2) Hostage Extraction: Locate and extract the hostage to a secure location
3) Protect Hostage: 4 waves of enemies will come at you and attempt to kill the hostage. Your task is to protect the hostage during these 4 waves.
4) Disarm Bombs) This is the game mode we have seen during the bonus mission 'Article 5'. You have to locate 2 bombs, place a defuser, and survive until the bombs are properly defused.

Terrorist Hunt provides the option to alter the difficulty of your AI opponents. The higher the difficulty, the higher the reward but it should be noted that the Realistic difficulty poses quite a challenge if you do not find yourself accompanied by a well-organized team.

Terrorist Hunt has some of the most time-consuming achievements of this game within its category. You need to successfully complete a defensive game mode 100 times. Out of the 4 possible scenarios I listed above, only one is defensive and that is 3) Protect Hostage. None of the other 3 game modes have corresponding achievements so it is best to exclusively stick to this particular game mode after we have picked up the achievements that are more easily earned on the other 3 game modes.

You can limit your search to this game mode by going to Options -> Matchmaking preferences -> Uncheck all game modes under the Terrorist Hunt tab with the exception 'Protect Hostage'.

Other time-consuming achievements are killing 200 enemies with bullet penetration (shooting them through soft surfaces such as barricades, doors etc.), achieving 150 headshots (might come naturally), and achieving a cumulative total of 2500 kills in Terrorist Hunt. Keep these 2 requirements in the back of your head while working towards the other Terrorist Hunt achievements. As a rule of thumb: the more kills you are credited with, the better, and if you have the possibility to shoot them through another object, then do so.

Getting 2500 kills and playing 100 matches of Protect the Hostage will inherently mean that you will pick up many of the other Terrorist Hunt achievements in the process, but there are 2 that deserve special attention. You need to clear a terrorist hunt mission in under 2 minutes and you need to complete one on the realistic difficulty. The 2 minute achievement is the only one that cannot possibly be earned on the 'Protect- Hostage' game type so let us tackle that one first.

The 2 most ideal game modes are 'Hostage- Extraction 'and 'Classic'. The key-element for this achievement is to play on normal-difficulty and to play aggressively. There is no time to crouch-walk, dive into cover or use your gadgets. This is about kicking in doors and kicking ass.

When you play 'Classic', you and your friends should preferably play on a smaller map such as Plane and coordinate who clears what section. Plane has 3 floors. A cargo hold and 2 passenger floors. Coordinate who clears what floor. Maps such as 'Training Ground', 'House', Hereford, Chalet are also suitable. You want to avoid maps such as Clubhouse, Bank, Kanal, Consulate.

If you play Hostage Extraction then you should ignore most of the enemies. Clear only what poses an immediate threat to you or gets in your way. Quickly check possible hostage locations by bashing holes in barricaded doors or windows. There might be enemies in empty rooms that you can just ignore. Once you or one of your teammates has found the hostage you should immediately pick him up and make a run for the extraction zone. If you wait, then additional enemies will spawn and attack you, but if you immediately run for the objective with the hostage (you can sprint while carrying the hostage), you can avoid such problems. Note that there are always 1 or 2 enemies waiting for you on the extraction zone. Hopefully, your teammates have rushed over to the extraction zone once they have seen the 'Hostage has been located' pop up, but even if they didn't, these 2 enemies should pose only a minor threat that you can possibly even overcome with your sidearm, without having to drop the hostage.

Here is a video made by achievement user Zm4rc0 as a visual aid:

If you and your team were successful, you should now unlock:

Hit and Run in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Complete a Terrorist Hunt mission in under 2 minutes.
  • Unlocked by 43,324 tracked gamers (37% - TA Ratio = 1.64) 116,830

The next achievement we wish to pursue is the one where we have to complete one Terrorist Hunt mission on the Realistic-difficulty. Realistic difficulty makes enemies unforgiving killing machines that will kill you very quickly so strategy and caution are very important here. You can pick any operator but I recommend against selecting any that carry a shield. Enemies will shoot right through them on realistic-difficulty. The recommend game modes for this achievement are:

If you and your team decide to go for classic, your best bet is to do this on House, Plane, or Hereford. Caution is key during this game mode because enemies may approach you from rooms and areas of the map that you believe to have cleared. Try to work your way from top to bottom and always stay together as a team. Always watch your six.

Best executed on the maps Plane: Executive Bedroom or Bank: Vault. If you find yourself in the position where you can coordinate with your teammates about what operators you will all take, then I recommend picking MUTE, BANDIT, ROOK, DOC and whatever 5th you guys prefer. MUTE should set up signal jammers next to the walls that you do not want to see destroyed, including the reinforced ones because enemies can and will breach through these if you don't. BANDIT can throw up 3 sets of barbed wire and electrocute them. BANDIT should throw all of these sets of barbed wire in the same door or path that you wish to block off. AI enemies cannot cross through 3 sets of electrocuted barbed wire so you can limit the amount of directions enemies can come from. ROOK will give everybody an additional 100% armor which is neat if you have to survive 4 waves, and DOC can ran revive people simply by shooting them with his stim pistol. Suicide bombers and riot shielders should be prioritized with extreme discrimination. Throwing C4 on the riot shielders is the best way to deal with them.

If you were successful in your endeavor, then you will now unlock:

Master in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Master106 (50)
Complete a Terrorist Hunt mission on REALISTIC difficulty.
  • Unlocked by 26,001 tracked gamers (22% - TA Ratio = 2.11) 116,830

We have come to the part where we have to grind for our remaining achievements. We have to successfully complete a 100 defensive Terrorist Hunt missions aka 'Protect - Hostage' while also attempting to do the following things:

-Get a cumulative total of 2500 kills in Terrorist Hunt
-Make 200 kills with bullet penetration
-Get 150 headshot kills
-Revive 10 downed teammates.

We are going to limit our matchmaking preferences to 'Protect - Hostage' and whatever maps you prefer. It is possible to complete this solo and rack up more kills for yourself, but I found that actually being successful in these matches a 100 times is much more easily achieved when you have partners to help you. Put the difficulty on 'normal' and start searching. Try to prioritize the things I have listed above. It is likely that you will get plenty of revives on the normal difficulty because there will always people that die on these matches. Especially if you are going to play a 100 games but if you struggle to get the revives then you may want to notch up the difficulty (people die more frequently on higher difficulties) until you have obtained the following achievement:

Brothers in Arms in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Revive injured teammates 10 times in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt.
  • Unlocked by 59,273 tracked gamers (51% - TA Ratio = 1.40) 116,830

Now we are in it for the long haul. You have to win the protect the hostage game type a 100 times, and you might as well use this time to rack up as many kills as you can for your 2500 kills achievement, as long as you do compromise the safety of the hostage. I liked to pick ROOK so I could ensure that I had plenty of health without having to rely on teammates. By all means, it is not necessary to camp in the room with the hostage. Walk around and seek enemies out if you want to.

After 20 completed Terrorist Hunt matches, you will earn:

Terro Hurt in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Terro Hurt85 (50)
Complete 20 Terrorist Hunt missions.
  • Unlocked by 40,531 tracked gamers (35% - TA Ratio = 1.69) 116,830

You should start collecting all operators and a chunk of their weapons. Remember that operators become increasingly more expensive with each operator you buy in a single team.

1ste operator: 500 credits
2nd operator 1000 credits
3th operator: 1500 credits
4th operator: 2000 credits

Once you have purchased all operators in a single team, you will unlock:

Playing Favorites in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Unlock all Operators in one of the original CTUs.
  • Unlocked by 68,480 tracked gamers (59% - TA Ratio = 1.30) 116,830

The next step is purchasing all operators in the game. This requires a total of 25,000 renown (5,000 renown for every CTU). You will easily acquire this amount when you are playing for the last remaining achievements, but if you do wish to grind, then you can follow these steps to earn over 5,000 renown in a little over 8 hours

  1. Go into preferences. Turn off all maps except for HOUSE and turn off all terrorist hunt modes except SAVE HOSTAGE.
    2. Load up terrorist hunt on Lone Wolf (press)
    3. Choose realistic
    4. start the game and go to sleep

(Credit goes to Kanchanaburi)

Either way, you will unlock the following achievement upon obtaining your final operator.

Full Roster in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Unlock all 20 Original Operators.
  • Unlocked by 60,458 tracked gamers (52% - TA Ratio = 1.39) 116,830

Now that we have acquired all operators, you should play one round with every single one of them. This can be done in multiplayer or in Terrorist Hunt. You will not have the option to use the Attackers during your '100 defensive games' achievement, so we will have to briefly venture off our path to an offensive variant of Terrorist Hunt or multiplayer until you have at least played one round with every single operator. That should unlock:

Jack of All Trades in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Win a match with all 20 Original Operators in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt.
  • Unlocked by 31,693 tracked gamers (27% - TA Ratio = 1.92) 116,830

Back to grinding Protect the Hostage...

We are going to briefly prioritize our headshot kills in order to get those out of the way. Headshot kills are easily earned through regular play but there is one way to make it even easier. If you find yourself defending a hostage on the first or second floor of a building such as the cigar room in Kafe Dostoyevsky, then enemies will zip line up and try to breach through the windows. You can actually see these enemies coming from a mile away because you can see their zip lines appear in front of the window. Just wait a few seconds for the poor enemy to climb up and once his face appears you should put a bullet in it. You will get brain surgeon achievement in no-time:

Brain Surgeon in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Get 150 Headshots in Terrorist Hunt missions.
  • Unlocked by 35,880 tracked gamers (31% - TA Ratio = 1.80) 116,830

There is a good chance that you will have reached your 100 defensive victories before you have accumulated 2500 kills or made your 200 bullet penetration kills. This is because your teammates have likely snooped away a good portion of the kills as well.

You will achieve:

Camper in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Camper49 (10)
Successfully complete any Defend game mode 100 times in Terrorist Hunt.
  • Unlocked by 4,792 tracked gamers (4% - TA Ratio = 4.94) 116,830

By the time you have earned the previous achievement, you should now be swimming in cash, and if you haven't done so already, you should start purchasing weapons and as many scopes, silencers, and other attachments that you can find for them to unlock the achievement where you have to obtain 50 weapon attachments:

Spender in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Spender69 (50)
Unlock 50 weapon attachments.
  • Unlocked by 61,666 tracked gamers (53% - TA Ratio = 1.37) 116,830

There is another achievement that is going to require us to spend some money. You need to apply a skin to 30 weapons. Now there are 2 ways to get this. First and foremost, you can simply buy the cheapest skin for every weapon. That will cost you 180 per skin and bring you up to a total of 5400 renown. Alternatively, you log in on your Uplay account and you purchase the 'Universal skin' for 40 Uplay points. This skin can be applied to every weapon in the game.

After applying it to all weapons (both primaries and secondaries) of around 8 operators, you will receive:

Fashion Week in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Apply weapon skins to 30 weapons.
  • Unlocked by 38,551 tracked gamers (33% - TA Ratio = 1.74) 116,830

We are going to speed up the process for our final 2 Terrorist Hunt achievements. We are going to play solo from now on and focus on getting our kills. It is no longer important that we are successful at protecting the hostage or that we complete the scenario. Kills are all that matters.

  1. Go into preferences. Turn off all maps except for HOUSE and turn off all terrorist hunt modes except SAVE HOSTAGE.
    2. Load up terrorist hunt on Lone Wolf (press )
    3. Choose normal
    4. Select Master Bedroom

You will see a flipped over couch right next to the hostage. This couch is a soft surface that we can shoot through but will NEVER get destroyed. You are going to position yourself behind this couch and shoot at the enemies that will come through the 2 entrances that are on the other side of the couch (the main door and the closet).

There is a chance that enemies will come through the bathroom or attempt to breach through the door on the side. Be aware of that and take them out if they attempt to do that. When you or the hostage eventually dies just repeat this process. Here is a visual aid:

This will eventually unlock:

That bullet pen... in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Kill 200 terrorists with bullet penetration in Terrorist Hunt.
  • Unlocked by 8,010 tracked gamers (7% - TA Ratio = 3.82) 116,830

All there is left for us to do is grind the last kills we need to reach a cumulative total of 2500 kills. By now, you must have made great progress on this already by fighting your way through a 100 games of protect the hostage. The fastest way to do this is to play Classic Terrorist Hunt or Lone wolf on either Plane or House. Statistically, Plane is faster but it's also slightly less safe and House will feel less hectic. However it's entirely up to you. You can always just do this by playing some more 'Protect - Hostage' if you feel up for it.

Running Classic on Plane averages between 250-290 kills per hour. That is between 7-12 runs per including load times per hour and brings you at an average time of 4:00-4:30 minutes per game on average. If you were to start at 0 kills using this strategy you would need 7-10 hours to obtain this achievement.

That will unlock:

Terro Hunter in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Kill 2500 terrorists in Terrorist Hunt.
  • Unlocked by 9,908 tracked gamers (8% - TA Ratio = 3.43) 116,830

If you have obtained every single achievement that was discussed during this walkthrough, you now should be clearance level 50 or higher. Even if you played the 100 defensive games without achieving a single kill, then you would still have been close to reaching that rank, but in the extreme chance that you have done everything there is to do in this game and still haven't reached clearance level 50, then you should play Terrorist Hunt - Protect Hostage or 'Classic' until you do.

You should then unlock:

To the Top in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
To the Top138 (75)
Reach clearance level 50.
  • Unlocked by 34,388 tracked gamers (29% - TA Ratio = 1.84) 116,830
