Blues & Bullets - Title Card

In Blues & Bullets, you play as Elliot Ness, the famous American "Untouchable" detective. Utilizing his detective skills, you follow him on his journey to discover the illusive unbroken Soda Pop Cola Vending machine so that he can finally savor that sweet sweet cola taste! Along the way, you'll run into familiar U.S. prohibition era villains like Al Capone, shoot a ton of baddies with a sweet Tommy Gun Scarface style, and solve mysteries by collecting clues and solving puzzles. Friends will become enemies, enemies will become friends, friends will die, enemies will die. Do you have what it takes to find and drink that sweet cola nectar of the gods?

Throughout the story, you will encounter items of interest that can be "investigated". These are the collectibles for the game and an achievement requires you to collect all 100% of them. These are known as "Red Eyes" and appear in the game over an object that is of interest when you are within 10m of the object and the object is in focus on the screen (read: you are looking in general direction of aforementioned object and within set distance). Once these parameters are in place, the Red Eye will appear, hovering over the object of interest. Many scenes do not allow you to backtrack and return to previous areas of the scene. This means that many Red Eyes become missable, meaning you can progress past a certain point in a scene and accidentally trigger a cut scene that progresses the story and makes a replay of the level / scene in order to obtain the particular Red Eye. In order to minimize the missing of missable red eyes, the cut scene triggers will be discussed for each area and referred to as a "POINT OF NO RETURN". This means that if you go to the point of no return discussed and try to move any further, you will trigger a cut scene and all Red Eyes in previous section that were missable will now require a second play through of the scene if you missed them. There are 104 Red Eyes in Episode 1.

This walkthrough takes into account feedback, and dismisses the assumption that you are a native English speaking individual. Therefore, this walkthrough will contain 4 ways to guide you through the game.

  1. A text guide with all the collectibles detailed descriptions.
  2. A picture guide to show you all the collectibles.
  3. A video guide to show you all the collectibles.
  4. A summary guide of each scene, spelling out exactly where to walk, where to click for collectibles.

Following either the text or picture guide you should be able to complete Episode 1 in just around 1 Hour. Following the video guide and / or following the summary guides will put a completion around 2 Hours.

*HOLDING THE cn_B button will make your character "run" moving you faster. This can only be done in some scenes. Some scenes will require you to move at the snail's pace walking.

*SOME RED EYES DO NOT DISAPPEAR ONCE YOU'VE CLICKED THEM* Usually these are ones that involve required elements, but are also sometimes just random objects. As long as you've clicked them once and experienced the Red Eye cut scene for that Red Eye they are still counted and do not worry if they remain re-clickable.

SUMMARY: Grab the Key from the Boy, investigate the tally marks on the cell wall, examine the poo bucket in the corner to the left of cell door. Read the descriptions for Red Eye #5 + #6 before you do the next step. Making sure you've done all this, click on the cell door which will trigger a cut scene of you unlocking the cell door with the key you obtained from the boy. Now quickly investigate the cell door RE #5 across from the cell you exited and also RE #6 the altar to the left of #5's cell door. You have about 30 seconds to do these. Once the hidden timer expires a cut scene will trigger. Upon completion of the cut scenes you will have completed Scene 1 & also Chapter 1 and unlock "Captive".

SUMMARY: Grab the pension folder from the female cop. Head to the back room of the diner. Click on the desk in back room to drop off the folder. While you're back in this back room, click the lounge chair (lazy boy / recliner) and also the bulletin board with the newspaper clippings. Head back to the diner counter. Click pie display case for female cop. Click hamburger for Dickinson. Take hamburger to Dickinson. You will now be made aware of the suspicious customer sitting in another booth near the cops. Making sure you've done all this, head over and click the suspicious customer and trigger the story cut scene.

Scene 3 - 'Railed' Shooting Scene #1 - No collectables

SUMMARY: This is your first of what I'll refer to as a "Railed" Shooting Scene. These are scenes where you will be forced to follow a relatively linear path and occasionally be prompted to choose "Go Left" or "Go Right" (which has no effect, as you'll still end up in the same end place). There are no collectables in these scenes, and you will just have to kill all the enemies. Head shots are the easiest and safest bets. If you see your health declining by the screen getting blurry and covered in red, hide behind whatever object you are currently at and you will slowly regain your health. Take your time and aim for the head.

Scene 4 - Inside Al Capone's Mansion - 3 Red Eyes (2 MISSABLE)


SUMMARY: You will start in the narrow & long entry hallway of the mansion. Halfway down the hallway, click on the painting on the right side and the pictures set up on a table on the left side. Making sure you've done all this, click the door at the end of the hallway for a cut scene and introduction to Mr. Al Capone.

SUMMARY: Here we are introduced to our side kick of the game, Milton. He is big, hulk-like guy with a shaved head. Start off grabbing the bullet that Milton leaves on the counter. Now grab the newspaper also on the countertop. Head out to the customer area of the diner and find your first vending machine clue. DRAT! It's broken! Now head to the table where the cops were sitting in the previous Diner Scene and grab the tip they left. Now head over to the Juke Box Music Player and investigate that. Finally investigate the Missing Persons Posters Bulletin Board. If you missed RE #9 & #10 from the previous diner scene you are also given one last opportunity to get them here. Making sure you've done all this, walk out the open Diner door. Now walk down the stairs over to Milton standing at the car and click Milton. Upon completion of this you will complete Scene 5 & Chapter 2 and unlock "The past catches up".

Investigate the Hindenberg Zeppelin (air blimp) display case further behind the receptionist desk. Climb up a small stair case. At the top of the stair case click the painting on the left hand wall. Now we find our second vending machine clue! Click on the vending machine just to the right of the painting. DRAT! Another broken one! Making sure you've done all this, now walk over towards Milton and trigger a cut scene & we'll soon be airborne!

SUMMARY: You will be in another lobby. Approach and investigate the new receptionist desk and activate a cut scene. To the left of the desk investigate the glass window. Head further left to investigate the Masquerade Ball poster. Head even further left to click the Theatre Door. Now head back to the receptionist desk and head towards front of screen away from the front of the receptionist desk. You will find yourself standing on a large circular glass floor. Investigate this floor. Making sure you've done all this, climb the large winding stair case in the lobby. At the top you will find a long hallway towards the foreground of the screen. At the start of this hallway investigate the painting on the left. Head down the hallway a little and investigate the glass window on the left. Head further down hallway and investigate the Glass sliding doors leading to a balcony on the left. Head further down and find your third vending machine clue on the left side of the hallway. DRAT! BROKEN AGAIN! Head further down the hallway and you will reach an "L" intersection where the hallway branches to the right. At this L Intersection click the door with the DO NOT DISTURB sign. Now just after this L Intersection investigate the Hindenberg Zeppelin Disaster painting on the right hand side. Making sure you've done all this, click the Elevator Door at the very end (dead-end) of this hallway and trigger the point of no return cut scene.

Now head to the bridge and investigate the plaque at the start of the bridge on the left side. Cross over bridge and head immediately to the left. Watch the cut scene with the magician. Once cut scene has finished the magician will go sit on the bench. Investigate the magician. Now head back to the bridge and investigate the magician's advertisement sign "The Amazing Charla". Making sure you've done all this, head past the magician's advertisement sign and trigger the point of no return cut scene. Now you will be in a small hallway. At the start of this hallway click the emergency exit door on the left side. Making sure you've done all this, head down hallway to the door at the end and investigate triggering a second point of no return cut scene.

*NOTE - This is where the majority of collectibles are, so don't be alarmed that you're percentage is still low and knowing there are only a couple chapters left*

INTRO: This area is the bulk of the episode. It is a large area where you will be conducting your investigate and obtain a large majority of the Red Eyes for the Episode. Therefore, I'll break the inside of the house into 6 smaller areas - Foyer (Entry area), Living Room (to left), Kitchen (to left through Living Room), Bed Room (first door on right side of foyer), Bathroom (second door on right side of foyer), and Garage (third door on right side of foyer)
Due to the Red Eyes #49 - #94 being required to "Solve" the mystery of what happened in the Forger's House, these should not be missable, however before solving any of the mystery elements it would be a safe bet to verify that you have clicked all required areas.

SUMMARY: Let's head to the right first. Investigate the Bedroom door #1 (locked). In the hallway outside this door click the blood pool. This activates what I refer to as "Clue mode". The item you are investigating will become center screen and enlarged greatly. You can manipulate the item using the joysticks and rotating it around to look at various parts of the object. Inside the blood pool you'll see a spoon. Click the spoon (clue mode). Now head to the second door on the left the bathroom. Click the altar (clue mode). Click the writing in blood on wall. Now let's head into the third door on the left (Garage). Click the license plate. Click the car front door (clue mode). Now let's head back to the foyer (Entry way). Click the foot of the steps for "mutilation". Click the speared body (clue mode). Now let's head to the first room on the left of foyer (living room). Small cut scene showing the room layout. Click blood pool at entry way to living room. Click desk (clue mode). Click watch (clue mode). Click whiskey bottle, broken whisky glass, & window glass. Click revolver (clue mode). Now let's head through the back of the living room to the Kitchen. Click kitchen table (clue mode). Click knife block (clue mode). Click bedroom door #2. I couldn't figure out any combination where the collectibles up until this point in the scene were missable, but would be safe to double check. Now let's click through all the photos and solve the case. If you're unsure of which photo goes where you can spam the A button and cycle the photos. An incorrect photo will buzz you and you can then select an alternate. Alternatively if you really want a video guide, click the spoiler below. Cut scene and you are in the bedroom. Milton will be sitting on a couch. Click Milton and go through all three prompts. Click brief case (clue mode). Click note on windowsill. SUMMARY: Now we're dressed as the mummy & walking to the docks with Milton. In the first area with NPC's you will see a harmonica player. Click him. Next to the harmonica to the right further is an anchor statue. Click it. Making sure you've done all this, walk towards the gates and trigger cut scene. After cut scene walk up stairs and click red cargo container for the last collectible. Achievement will pop upon completion of the Chapter.

Scene 2 - MARKET STREET / PIER - 7 Red Eyes (7 MISSABLE)

Summary: Start off by clicking the Palm Reader's Sign, then after a short cut scene of you entering palm reader's shop, walk up to palm reader to trigger another short cutscene. Outside of palm reader head towards double doors. Double doors will open automatically and be sure to click on the back of the right double door for a poster of Santa Esperanza. Head through double doors and to the right in the market. Click the Christmas Shop, then the Claire's Bakery. Head towards the Fisherman on the docks. Take note that the point of no return for this section of the game is walking down the pier (long pathway) towards the woman standing in the background of the area. Being sure not to start walking down the pier, click the fisherman at the left of the entrance to the pier. Now head further left of the fisherman and click the Fresh Juice Kiosk. Now head even further left and click the Restaurant Matre De (Waiter/Man standing outside the restaurant entrance). Another short cutscene. Making sure you've done all this, head back to the pier and walk all the way down the pier to trigger the final cut scene and conclude Scene 2.

The point of no return for this Market / Pier area is walking down the long pier towards the woman standing at the end. Walking ANY further down the pier past RE #5 will trigger the cut scene and prevent obtaining RE #1 - #7 without further playthroughs.

Scene 3 - Submarine (On Board / Interior) Follow Ivankov Following Scene - No collectables

Summary: This is a walking 'railed' scene with no collectables. Simply follow the character of Ivankov who will periodically stop if you get too far behind.

Scene 4 - 'Railed' Shooting Scene #1 - No collectables

Summary: This is the first 'railed' shooting scene of Episode 2. There are no collectables to hunt for in 'railed' shooting scenes. Simply take your time and aim for the head if possible. Any time you are losing too much health and the screen gets red, duck behind cover until your health replenishes. Rinse & Repeat throught scene. In railed shooting scenes if the game ever asks you to "choose" paths, don't fret which path you choose, they both lead to the same end and the only difference is the scenery along the way.

Scene 5 - Submarine (Investigation) - 52 Red Eyes (7 MISSABLE)

Intro: THIS area is similar to the FORGER'S HOUSE from Episode 1. This is the investigation portion of the Episode 2 and where you will obtain a vast majority of all Red Eye's (69%). AGAIN similar to the previous investigation area from Episode 1, I will break this area into 8 smaller areas. With Milton and the winding staircase leading upwards in the background center of your screen. Butcher Room (to left of Milton), Prison Cells (to left of Milton through Butcher Room), Fight Club Floor (room that is a giant cage to the right), Gambling Room (to the right further through Fight Club Floor), Upper Office (winding stair case above Miltion), Freezer / Showers (Background past Milton, head through those plastic strips hanging from ceiling), Cargo Container (Just before Showers, requires Key to open)

Summary: Start off by clicking Milton & be sure to go through both prompts (HELP, GUN). Then head to the Fight Club Floor entrance. Click the clipboard at entrance on wall. This open's the new feature for this episode; zoom-in mode. Zoom-in mode simply lets you look over an item closely. Make note of "Appollo's #' 209. Now head into Fight Club Floor and click blood pool in middle of room to activate clue mode. In clue mode click all 3 clues (click bloody paw prints from dogs on left side, bloody boot prints further left and bloody bare foot prints stain to the right). Now head to back side of Fight Club Floor and up the small staircase. Inside the Gambling Room click BOTH bulletin boards (the Daily Rounds "Score Board" && Score Board "APOLLO WINNER" Tournament Board). Then click Barrels & Boxing Glove and activate clue mode. Inside clue mode click both clues (Fist of Glove & Outer Wrist of Glove). Now head back to Milton and head to the Butcher Room to the left. Click the Dog Cages on the left and activate clue mode. Click all 5 clues (Above Cage #1, Cage #3 on the #3 itself, Cage #3 inside the cage, Bullet casings at base of Cage #2, & Base of Cage # 6). Head to the butcher table with the saw to the right of cages and click to activate clue mode again. Click all 4 clues (Chainsaw itself, Fresh blood at base of chainsaw, Dried blood at tip of chainsaw blade, & Scratch marks from chainsaw at right of table). Now head further right of chainsaw table to Prison Cells. There are 3 prison cells on the left hand side of this hallway area. Click all 3 prison cell doors. Click the first cell door and activate clue mode. Click all 4 clues (Cross painted in blood, Sickening Smelling toilet bucket, Shackles for wrists or ankels, & Nearly dried out plate of food). Click the other 2 remaining cells discussed earlier. Click the trap door lever just at the end of the hallway with cells. Now head back to Milton again. Now head up the staircase next to Milton to the Upper Office. Click the stack of boxes and activate clue mode. Click 3 clues (Folder, Paper Front, Paper Back). Click desk and activate clue mode. Click 4 clues (Empty Bottles, Typewriter, Guido Collumbo ID Card, Receipt for MC Fields). Click the Rocky Boxing Poster on the table with lamp near safe. Now click safe and activate zoom-in mode. In zoom-in mode scroll to the left and click the sign on safe "Changed combo..." & click Comb Lock. Type in # from earlier "209". You now have obtained a key for later. Now head out of office back to Milton. Head past Milton towards the rear through the strips of plastic hanging from the ceiling. Ignore the Cargo Container Red Eye clearly visible for a moment and head to the left into the Showers. Click the towels on the left bench and activate clue mode. Click 2 clues (Towel Still Damp & Shampoo for Kids). Now head further into shower room and click the "Contrasting Showers". Now head back to the previously skipped Cargo Container, click it and head inside. Inside container click the Crayon Drawings on the left. Click the boxes on the right of entrance and activate clue mode. Click 2 clues (Boy's Dirty Underwear & Sofia's Dress). Head to rear of Cargo Container and click the teddy bear on the mattress & finally the mural on the back wall. Making sure you've done all this, solve the case and you have completed the investigate and Scene 5.

Summary: This scene is a 'railed' following scene. Follow Dockers until you reach a bridge that you cross. This will be a ways into the scene. It will be shortly after the game makes you mash the cn_Y button repeatedly to open an iron gate to progress. This is the first red eye of the scene. Click this red eye on the bridge. Continue walking a little further. Dockers will instruct you to find a hidden sign / entrance. TAKE NOTE of the POINT OF NO RETURN for this area is the aforementioned Sign that Dockers asks you to find. Click the Burnt out Pile, Bear Trap, & Severed Arm. Making sure you've done all this, head up the path and on the left at the top is the hidden sign / entrance. Click this and activate the cut scene into the Church.

Scene 8 - The Untouchables Office (Precinct) - 10 Red Eyes (2 MISSABLE)

Summary: This section is essentially a linear path through the offices. You shouldn't really need any assistance on this section. Just take note that when you get to a long hallway with tons of telephones that ring be sure to grab those 2 missable red eyes. TAKE NOT of the POINT OF NO RETURN in the Telephone Hallway with all the ringing telephones. Start off scene exit office through door next to hat rack. Walk directly across straight from this door and click a second door under "Untouchables Office" sign. Follow pathway around and down a long narrow hallway (only 1 path to take) to door #3. Click through and you're inside a large room with lots of cops. Head directly straight across room again and click door #4 next to a sitting cop (cop is to right of door). Follow path along and you come into a long hallway with lots of ringing telephones. Click the first telephone on the right and the first on the left across from each other and follow hallway to end. Making sure you've done all this, click the door #5 at the end of the telephone hallway. Watch some cut scenes and you end up in the morgue. Exit the morgue and walk past all the fire and wheelchairs of fire and dead nurses. Eventually following the only path you can go you'll come to a final hallway that disappears before your eyes. As you walk forward it will reappear in bright red. At the end you will see the final door #6. Click through and watch the cut scene to conclude Scene 8 & Chapter 4.

Summary: This is the second 'railed' shooting scene of Episode 2. There are no collectables to hunt for in 'railed' shooting scenes. Simply take your time and aim for the head if possible. Any time you are losing too much health and the screen gets red, duck behind cover until your health replenishes. Rinse & Repeat throught scene. In railed shooting scenes if the game ever asks you to "choose" paths, don't fret which path you choose, they both lead to the same end and the only difference is the scenery along the way.
