DOOM

Welcome to the walkthrough for Doom. This guide will help you obtain all 33 achievements. There are 28 achievements related to the campaign, 3 for the SnapMap feature (a map creator) and 2 for multiplayer. The SnapMap and Multiplayer features require online play, but it's not much.

You will need one full playthrough of the story finding all secrets, collectibles, runes, codex and completing all level challenges on any difficulty, then you can use mission select to clean up any trophies you missed. With this walkthrough you can choose to use the text or video guide for each level. For both the text and video guides, I have just focused on achievements and the best path that I found for them. So feel free to explore anything extra as you go. I have done my best to avoid spoilers for the actual story, so for the most part you will just be guided through each level.

So grab a shotgun, blast some metal music and let's get stuck in!

There are not many tips I need to give you with this game as it is pretty straightforward, just keep shooting until the demons die and then move on to find more demons. With most shooters today, you will be used to heading for cover when a fight breaks out, this is not one of those shooters. You are meant to get sucked into the fight, and if your health gets low, you will be rewarded with health drops from enemies you kill. So don't run away, get sucked in.

Each of the challenges you are given from level 2 onwards needs to be finished in 1 sitting, but you do not need to do all 3 per level in 1 go. i.e. a challenge may ask you to kill 20 demons in a certain way, but if you kill 10 and then finish the level then next time you play the level you will start from 0 kills.

Tracking for Rune/Weapon Mod Upgrades and Challenges carry over with deaths and checkpoint reloads. So if you find a decent spot then you can keep reloading the checkpoint to get them done.

Introduction

The aim of this section is to guide you through every level without missing an AutoMap, Secret, Elite Guard (Praetor suit upgrade), Field Drone (Gun Mod), Codex (Data Log), new Gun, Collectible or Rune. A helpful hint is the map goes blue in areas you have been and remains grey if you haven't been. There are miscellaneous achievements you can unlock along the way, so you should also reference that section of this walkthrough as you go, this will reduce the amount you will need to grind out at the end.

If you would prefer videos for each level rather than the text walkthrough you should jump to the Video walkthroughs page. The videos cover everything that you will find in the text walkthrough so it is up to you.

Prologue

The prologue serves to introduce you to the basics. There are no secrets to find here, so just follow the level, destroy the Gore Nest and then head up the elevator. That leads into the first level.

The UAC (Level 1)

From the start of the level you will jump down and then climb up a ledge. There will be a Codex (1/2) on the ground in front of you:

External image

External image

You will jump down to the next area and fight some enemies. Then head on and find a locked blue door. To the right of this door you will follow the path around to find the blue key. Above the key is a ledge that unlocks a Secret (1/3) and holds the first Collectible (Classicguy):

External image

External image

Once through the blue door, you can loot a Frag Grenade on the left and then jump down and fight a few demons. Then the path will split. You should take the right path which leads into a cave. In here you will find an AutoMap that reveals the whole map:

External image

External image

Follow the cave to the exit and you will find an Elite Guard (1/1) before jumping down:

External image

External image

Drop down from here and kill all the enemies. Then head right and drop down again and you will be next to a secret door that looks like this:

External image

Clear all the enemies out and then you can locate the lever. If you stand with your back to the door, then you should see writing of "TRI 9C" on a bit of scenery. Underneath this is the Lever you need to pull to open the Secret Door which is another Secret (2/3):

External image

External image

I won't reveal the contents of the secret door as it is a nice surprise. Once you have entered the secret door, come back out, climb up above it and jump over the gap. You should see 2 caves in front of you. Take the left cave first to grab the Codex (2/2):

External image

External image

Head back to the cave split and take the right cave now. At the entrance will be a Field Drone (1/1):

External image

External image

Fight through the next area and once all enemies are cleared out follow the middle path through an archway and you should reach a dead end with some armour to pick up above you. As you face the armour on the left wall will be a cave entrance:

External image

This leads to a Secret (3/3) with the Collectible (Blueguy):

External image

Now you just need to work your way to the end of the level through more enemies. Upon completing this level, you will unlock the achievement:

Resource Operations (Level 2)

Challenges

This is the first level containing challenges. You do not have to finish all 3 in a single run, so if you miss any then you can use mission select to finish them. You can track your progress on the map screen. The challenges for level 2 are:

Two-fer: Kill 2 of The Possessed with one trigger pull from the Shotgun:

  • The possessed enemies are the weakest enemies that you encountered at the start of the level and throughout. You should use a weapon mod on the shotgun for this. If you have the burst charge then you should charge it up and line up multiple Possessed enemies and hope to get 2. If you have the explosive shot then fire at the ground near 2 Possessed enemies.

Variety is the Spice of Death: Perform 5 different glory kills on The Possessed:

  • To perform different glory kills you should aim for different body parts each time. Each leg, each arm, in front or behind them will each perform a different glory kill.

Quite the Explorer: Find 3 secrets:

  • If you follow this guide then you will get this challenge complete.

This will most likely be your first level doing all 3 as they are easy challenges, so you will probably unlock:

Level walkthrough

Clear the enemies in the first room and go through the door you have to pull open. Head along this corridor, clearing the enemies as you go. At the end of the corridor are some stairs. At the top of the stairs, turn around and you should see a ledge you can jump to. Jump up here and follow it through to find a Secret (1/8) containing some armour:

External image

External image

Head back to the stairs and press the button at the top of them. This activates power for the area. Head back down the corridor and you will now be able to activate the AutoMap located on the left of the corridor:

External image

External image

In the room you entered from, you can now activate a button to open the floor and drop into the next area. There will be some enemies to kill here and along the next corridor. Once they are defeated if you turn around from the door you are meant to proceed through, then at the opposite end of the corridor where it turns there are crates and ledges to climb up, that includes some armour. Instead of jumping off the end of the platform you climb onto, you should make a jump over to the left onto a platform that contains a big screen. Here you will find a Lever to open up a Secret Door beneath the platform you are on which unlocks a Secret (2/8):

External image

External image

External image

Once you exit the secret door, continue on the path. Through here you will fight more enemies and then emerge into a large room. Fight through everything in here and then progress to where the next door is in the opposite corner from where you entered, but instead of going through it, turn around and you should see a Codex (1/2) in the corner:

External image

External image

Turn left from the codex and you should see three panels with red stop buttons, the left one has its lid open. You can press the stop button on this to stop 2 elevators in front of you. Climbing up here and following the path will allow you to jump across and enter a room to get some armour. Drop down from here and you should find a Chainsaw embedded within a body:

External image

External image

In the next room you will find some more enemies. You should notice a yellow door in the corner opposite to where you entered. There is a button next to this that shows you where the yellow key card carrier went. Head to the right of the yellow door and you will find a hole in some fencing. Through here you can head up an elevator and follow this until you can drop down into the next room on the right. Kill the enemies in here and follow the corridor to the next room. Here you will have a Gore Nest to clear out and then you can activate an elevator. Upon leaving the elevator follow the path until you start seeing vision of an enemy walking. Just ahead of this you should find a Field Drone (1/1):

External image

External image

Follow the path to the end and loot the yellow key card. From this point you are meant to head through the door in front of you, but you should actually back track from here as you can now unlock more secrets. Head back through the elevator and climb back up to where you entered this room. Follow the path and at the end, turn left and enter the room. You can activate a console in here to unlock all the doors in the area. Now head back to the corridor you just came through and you should find a hatch on the right. Open this up and head in here to unlock a Secret (3/8) and find an Elite Guard (1/3):

External image

External image

You won't be able to leave here from where you entered, so follow the only path available and you should climb into another area that contains a Plasma Rifle which unlocks a Secret (4/8):

External image

External image

Now leave this area and you should be in the room with the elevator. Take this back up and go to where you obtained the yellow key card. The door to the right of this will now be unlocked which leads to a Secret (5/8). Head through this room and you will find a vent you can head through that will take you to another Secret (6/8) that contains an Elite Guard (2/3) and some armour:

External image

External image

Open the door with the button and you will enter the room with the yellow door. Head through here and the room ahead of you will contain a Heavy Assault Rifle:

External image

External image

Press the button in this room to unlock the airlock. Head through the airlock and go outside. This next area contains a lot of enemies, but also your first powerup. The powerup is Berserk mode that allows you to kill any enemy in the area with 1 punch. To get the powerup you need to head straight out of the door and it will be floating in the air above a platform:

External image

External image

After clearing out all the enemies you will reach a button to call an elevator. Instead of using this you should head back along the platform you are on and you should find a box you can climb on, just after you leave from underneath the building. It has blood on the ground around it and on the edge of it as well. Climb up the box and onto the building. Head right and when you reach the edge, turn around and jump up to another ledge and then climb to your right up onto the roof. From here head forward to reach the building ahead of you, and head into the left corner to locate a Secret (7/8) containing a Collectible (Doomguy):

External image

External image

External image

Head back to where you climbed onto the roof and you should notice a body leaning against a hatch you can open. Drop through the hatch and press the button. This will spawn some enemies outside and move a satellite that you will be climbing in a moment. Head from the button along a corridor to locate an elevator you can use to go back outside. Clear out the enemies and then head to the satellite. Climb up this and head along to find some armour, then drop down and head through the door ahead and clear out the 3 enemies. Press the airlock button to open the next door. Head along this corridor, note the door you pass on your right will unlock when you press the next button, it just contains an ammo crate. Clear out all the enemies ahead and then you should find a Codex (2/2) in the left corner of the room:

External image

External image

Press the button in this room and move on to find more enemies. Once they are defeated you should head through the area on the left to head into a room that contains an Elite Guard (3/3) and an ammo crate:

External image

External image

Now head back to the previous area and continue on through the door. You will fight a lot of enemies here and then go through another door. In this next room you should see the door you are meant to go through in front of you and some crates to the left. Climb these crates and up onto a ledge to locate another Secret (8/8) containing a collectible (Bronzeguy):

External image

External image

Head back to the door you are meant to go through and you will be given your first Argent Cell (1/1) to upgrade yourself with. You will then be given some story and then the exit area will be opened for you to head to and finish the level.

Foundry (Level 3)

Challenges

Three Possessed, One Barrel - Kill 3 of The Possessed with one explosive barrel

  • There is a specific room that I found this works best in. I have already written this in the walkthrough so you can skip to it with 3 possessed with 1 barrel.

Curb Stomp - Perform 3 "Death from Above" glory kills on Possessed Soldiers

  • The Possessed Soldiers are the enemies with plasma rifles. A lot of the time you will be at the same level as them, so simply jump in the air and look down at them before performing the glory kill. It doesn't always perform the death from above, but just keep trying. If you really struggle then you can wait until later in the game when you unlock the ability to double jump.

Quite the Collector - Find 2 Collectibles

Level Walkthrough

When you leave the first room, jump over the gap and enter the door on your left. You should see a Field Drone (1/1) in front of you and a Codex (1/3) to your left:

External image

External image

External image

Continue down the corridor killing the enemies and into the next room with more enemies to fight. On your left is an area that contains a button to activate a vision that shows where the guy that can activate the objective button went. Head into the next room and drop down. Climb up the platform at the back wall and through the doorway on your left to find an Elite Guard (1/3):

External image

External image

Head back into the previous room and climb up to the top. Before you jump to the platform with the stairs, you should look for the ledge to climb up to for a Secret (1/6) containing some armour:

External image

External image

Now jump over to the stairs and collect the arm of the guy on the ground. Jump across the gap and head to the back left corner of the room to use the button with the guys arm. Now the door that was covered in fire is unblocked and you can go through here and clear your first Gore Nest of the level. Now head back to where you first entered this area at the start of the level and head across the bridge. Follow the path around to the right and fight the enemies at the end. Once they are cleared out, in the corner opposite from where you entered is 3 pipes with lava flowing out of them. Jump over the barrier here to land on a platform and find a Secret (2/6) that contains a Collectible (Vaultguy):

External image

External image

Climb back up and collect the Yellow key from the body on your right. Now leave this area to spawn some enemies. After killing them, you should see some stairs going down on your left. Head down here and enter the first door on your right. Drop down within here and you will see another area you can drop into. This area is perfect for the 3 possessed kills with a barrel. I drop into the room to get them to walk to me near the barrels before blowing the barrel up. Climb out of this room where you dropped in and follow the path to the next room that contains a Codex (2/3):

External image

External image

Climb through the window above the codex and head along the corridor in front of you and drop into the next room and clear it out. Before moving on, you should jump up above the path you are meant to follow to find a Secret (3/6) that contains a Rocket Launcher:

External image

External image

Head back down and follow the path, you will enter a lava room with another Gore Nest to defeat. After clearing that out, move further into the lava room, if you take the left path then at the end of the path where it turns, you can jump to the left for some armour if you wish. Follow this area out to a gravity pad. You now need to head over the bridge you haven't crossed yet. This should be to your right from landing off the gravity pad. Half way across this bridge is a platform that has the Lever for the Secret Door:

External image

External image

After pulling the lever you should continue to the end of the bridge and you should see the door ahead of you to the left. Clear this area and go through the Secret Door for another Secret (4/6). Upon exiting the secret door you should head to the back right corner to get an Argent Cell (1/1):

External image

External image

At the opposite end of the room are some steps that go up to a yellow door. In this next room head up the stairs and at the end of the room is a Codex (3/3):

External image

External image

Head into the next long room and clear out the enemies. You will find 3 crates on a stopped conveyor belt. The middle crate is open and you will get another Secret (5/6) when you jump in, it contains a Collectible (Prototypeguy):

External image

External image

At the end of this room before going into the next you should see some crates with a chainsaw resting on them. Climb these and follow the path to locate a Secret (6/6) that contains an Elite Guard (2/3):

External image

External image

Head back out of the secret area and into the next room. Clear out the Gore Nest and then head up the stairs. Follow the path around here to unlock the AutoMap:

External image

External image

Head through the door to the next room and collect the Blue keycard. Drop down to each platform and through the door. After the corridor is another room containing a Gore Nest. Head out the door next to where the gore nest was and turn right. Enter the large door and follow the corridor to a button. After pressing this you will have to clear out a lot of enemies. Once you have cleared all the enemies, climb up the path at the end of the room and head through the door. You will find an Elite Guard (3/3):

External image

External image

In the next room, press the button to get more story, then kill the enemies and head through the door. You can now head to the button that exits the level.

Argent Facility (Level 4)

Challenges

Walk the Path: Interact with a Rune trial stone

  • This will be one of the first things you do in the level. Very hard to miss.

Bird's Eye View: Acquire the AutoMap for the Argent Facility

  • If you follow my guide then you will locate this. You can find the section it is referenced at by clicking AutoMap .

To Be Knighted: Perform 2 "Death from Above" glory kills on Hell Knights

  • The Hell Knights are larger enemies that run at you and also try to pounce on you. Shoot them until they are within a glory kill state, then jump on top of them and perform the glory kill. I always made sure they were near a ledge so I could quickly climb above them. The glory kill state doesn't last long so you have to be quick.

Level Walkthrough

Head through the first room and up the stairs to reach a door to the outside. Jump across to the platform on your left and then climb up to get to the platform above. Jump across to the next platform to find a Rune (1/2):

External image

External image

After completing the rune trial you will unlock:

Now head up the stairs into the next room and turn left. Climb up the platform straight ahead of you and you will find a Codex (1/4) on the ground:

External image

External image

Just to the left of the codex is the Lever to open the Secret Door. It may be obscured behind some barrels:

External image

External image

Continue into the next room and you will find the secret door on the right hand side for your first Secret (1/5). Once you have finished with the secret door, head outside and defeat the enemies and then proceed along the path. You may notice a Field Drone move away from you, we will get to this later. Proceed along the path and there will be a cave on the left that contains an Elite Guard (1/4):

External image

External image

Proceed into the open area to find some enemies and a Gore Nest. Once you have defeated these, head into the building on the left of this area and go through the door on the left to disable the first argent filter for your objective. Head back into the previous room and defeat the enemies. At the end of the room on the left you will find a Codex (2/4):

External image

External image

Head out of this hanger and across the open area to the right hangar. In the corner straight ahead of you is an Argent Cell (1/1). You have to go around the room to reach it:

External image

External image

Now climb out of this room to the floor above. Head left and the first door you come to will contain your second argent filter for the objective. Head out the door and go right. As you walk into this room, a ship should fly over your head and through some doors. Follow this down and it will drop a crate. You can climb this to reach the platform above it for a Secret (2/5) that contains a Collectible (UACguy):

External image

External image

Climb back out of the room, the way you dropped in. Face into the large room and on your left is the second Rune (2/2) to climb up to:

External image

External image

After completing the rune, jump back down the side you climbed up and turn left. Exit through the door in front of you. You should find some enemies and a Gore Nest to defeat. After defeating the nest, you should take the left path (if you are facing the direction you came from the door), jump across the gap and instead of going into the door, you should take the path to the left of it find a Secret (3/5) containing a Super Shotgun:

External image

External image

Now head back and go in the door to find a Gore Nest. Once you have cleared this, go into the room to the left of where the gore nest was from when you entered the room. You will find the final argent filter and to the left of that you will find a Codex (3/4):

External image

External image

Exit this room to find some more enemies. After they are defeated, head to the left of the door you were previously at and down some stairs. Ahead of you to the left will be a door you can pull open. This leads to a Secret (4/5) containing the AutoMap:

External image

External image

Leave the secret area door and turn left and left again to find another door to exit through. Head outside and you should see a ledge on the left. Go around this and drop down below it to the left. Follow this path all the way to find a Elite Guard (2/4):

External image

External image

Head back along the path and at the end of it you should see a door below you on the left. Head inside this to get a Field Drone (1/2):

External image

External image

Now head back inside the building you came out of. Use either of the gravity pads and exit this room. Follow the path from here killing some enemies as you go. At the end of the path you should find another Elite Guard (3/4):

External image

External image

Continue around the path and go right and right again down the path. Part the way down you should find an area to climb on your right (if you reach the drop you have to jump over then turn around). After climbing up, before you jump across the gap, you should turn right and follow the path beside the building to reach a Secret (5/5) containing a Collectible (Stealthguy):

External image

External image

Head back to the path and jump across. Follow this and enter the room. Clear out the enemies here and head upstairs and up the next set of stairs. On your right you should find a Field Drone (2/2) and Codex (4/4):

External image

External image

Head back down 1 set of stairs and out the door. Head right from here and into the first door on your right. Follow this area round, in the next room go across to the far back wall. Pull open the door and head into the next area to find enemies and a gore nest. There is also a Berserk power up just past the gore nest. After clearing the area, head into the next hangar and to your left will be a Elite Guard (4/4):

Level Walkthrough

From the start follow the path and jump across the gap. Drop into the hangar and deal with the enemies. Then follow the objective into the room in here to get thrust boots. To the left of where you pick these up is a Codex (1/4):

External image

External image

Exit this room and turn right. You should see a Rune (1/2) above on the right. You can reach this area from a crate near the ledge using your newly acquired double jump:

External image

External image

After completing the rune, look above the way you entered and you should see a ledge you can double jump to. Up here turn right and then jump up to the ledge on your left. Now jump across the gap and climb up on the left hand side to reach a pipe. Follow it to the end and jump to the small gap that you can crouch under. Here you will find a Secret (1/7) containing an Argent Cell (1/2):

External image

External image

Jump back on the pipe and follow it outside. Jump across to the left when you can’t continue and then drop down into the middle when you can’t continue. You will now be attacked by imps. There is a challenge for doing glory kills from behind on them so you may want to work on this here. Once the enemies are dead, from the platform you dropped down onto, go to the right side and climb up the structure ahead of you. Jump across to the left side and then turn back to climb up some stairs. After fighting the enemies here, head across the platform to the next structure and at the back of this is a Secret (2/7) containing a Codex (2/4) and Field Drone (1/1):

External image

External image

Leave through the other door of the room and jump across to the platform below. Follow this to the end and jump the gap. On the right side you should see an Elite Guard (1/3) below you that you can jump down to for a Secret (3/7):

External image

External image

Climb back up and continue to find a door you have to pull open. On your left as you enter is a Codex (3/4) and in the far corner is an AutoMap:

External image

External image

External image

Open the door to the next area and you will enter an area with a lot of enemies. Also in this area just up ahead is Quad Damage which you need for one of the challenges. I would advise entering this area with a rocket launcher and heading straight for the Quad Damage. It will be on a platform above and glows purple. If you don’t get enough kills for the challenge then you can restart the checkpoint to get the remaining kills or wait until a later fight in which you can get another. Once the area is cleared head to the end and go through the door. Find a gap between the moving blocks and continue on. You will drop down and then there will be an opening on your left. Turn around here to find an Elite Guard (2/3):

External image

External image

Head along the path and you should see a health station on the left and a Codex (4/4) on the right:

External image

External image

Jump down to your right and continue to the end. You can climb up on the right and then double jump to the stopped platform. Then diagonally jump to the platform on the opposite side, above where you entered. Then head up the slope of this platform and turn around to find another platform to jump to. From here jump between the moving platforms and then jump from this area to the left to land on a Secret (4/7) that contains a Collectible (Orangeguy):

External image

External image

Jump down from here and continue on the path to your objective which will be a hatch you can jump into and then pull open a door. You will get into a large fight in this room. There will be a quad damage straight ahead of you if you head around the middle of the room. Once the enemies are cleared, activate any of the buttons to raise an elevator and then jump on to the elevator that lowers to meet you. Head into the centre of the area and go up either side to climb to the next level. Within the centre again, both of the slopes up will have a platform underneath them. There is a secret underneath one of these (hopefully you will have upgraded Area-scanning technology so it shows up or you will have to try either of them). You have to double jump across to this to find a Secret (5/7) that contains Collectible (Purpleguy):

External image

External image

Continue to climb up to the top and get into another big fight. Once this fight is complete, you should head to the objective, but walk past it to get to an Argent Cell (2/2):

External image

External image

Activate the button the objective is on. This will activate 2 platforms in the central area that will raise and at the same time 2 will come down in their place. Leave the room you are in and head straight across. Get on the platform at the other side and remain on to the top. Above where the platform docks is the Lever to the Secret Door. Pull this and take the moving platform down (jumping down will kill you). The secret door is behind where the platform docks at the bottom, so time it so it doesn’t crush you and enter the secret door for Secret (6/7):

External image

External image

Once you have finished in the secret area, exit back out and head back up on the moving platform. Climb around the areas here and get on top of the platform that drops down to generate electricity. At the top of this you should get off at a door you can pull open. Head through the area clearing out the enemies and going up some stairs. At the end of this path there should be a gap in the wall to your left that you can jump across to, and then on your left will be a Rune (2/2):

External image

External image

After finishing the Rune area, head back to the gap you came through and jump across to the next ledge. Climb to the top of this area and in the middle of the areas you are climbing is an Elite Guard (3/3) that is hidden from sight:

External image

External image

Now head up the slope and in the next room, head past the elevator to find a Hologram. Now shoot down the elevator. Look down the shaft and you should see a yellow ledge below. Jump down to this to grab on and climb up to get Secret (7/7) with a Gauss Cannon:

External image

External image

Climb back up to the elevator you shot down and this time climb up. Head through the final door for another large fight. This area contains the final Quad Damage powerup for the challenge. After a short period of fighting here the level will end as you are transported to hell and unlock:

  • There are 4 Elite Guards in the level to get these tokens from. Following this walkthrough will show you how to get them all.

Momentum Swing: Kill 10 demons while using powerups

Sweep the Leg: Perform 4 "Leg Sweep" glory kills on the Hell Razer

  • The Hell Razer enemy glows red and fires lasers at you. You have to get them into a glory kill state and then aim at their right leg before doing a melee attack. You will find this enemy throughout the level, there is no specific area to get it.

Level Walkthrough

Head forward at the start and press the button to open the door. Head through and keep following the path. Jump down to the left and head up the stairs, killing the enemies as you go. When you reach the wall, turn around and look on the right. You should see some stones you can climb that lead up to a Secret (1/6) containing some armour:

External image

External image

Head back to the wall you reached before and jump down to the left. Fight the enemies within this area and then activate the button that the objective points to. This will unlock a gate containing the yellow skull. Climb the stairs out of this area up to the yellow door. Within here you will find a Codex (1/7) and an Elite Guard (1/4):

External image

External image

Continue on to the next area and kill all the enemies. Then head through the next objective marker and some platforms will raise. Head to these and climb to the top to get to a button that opens the door ahead. Through that door is a teleporter. Before proceeding through you should go to the right of it to locate a Secret (2/6) containing a Collectible (Astroguy):

External image

External image

Head through the teleporter and collect the blue skull. Head into the door that opens and you will have some enemies to defeat. Also in this area is a Quad Damage powerup you can use for the Momentum Swing. Now find the blue door you are meant to proceed through, but instead head to the right of this. You should be able to jump up to this area for a Secret (3/6) that contains a Rune (1/2):

External image

External image

After completing the rune, proceed through the blue door and on the right of this room is an Argent Cell (1/1):

External image

External image

Head into the next area and take out the enemies. Drop down to the lower level. On the right is an Invulnerability powerup. Remain on this level and head along the path, an enemy will jump up that you have to kill and to his left is a Secret (4/6) that contains a Chaingun:

You will see a platform with some armour on it. To the right of this is the platform you need to jump to. Continue along the platforms to reach the button that opens the door. Head through this door and fight the enemies. There is a Haste powerup in the area. A door opens that has a teleporter behind it. The section to the right of this contains the AutoMap:

From here head straight out and find the stairs ahead of you. Head up these and you will see more stairs ahead. To the left of these stairs is a room that contains a Rune (2/2):

External image

External image

After completing the rune, head up the first 2 flights of stairs and you will come to some armour and on your right will be a torch burning. Next to this torch is a ledge you can climb to reach a Secret (5/6) that contains a Collectible (Redguy):

External image

External image

From the top of the stairs, continue ahead and you should see a yellow gravity booster on the right. Past this is a path that leads to an Elite Guard (3/4):

External image

External image

Turn around from this and you should see a Codex (2/7) ahead of you:

External image

External image

Follow this path and in the next room you should find another Codex (3/7):

External image

External image

Now head back across the yellow gravity booster and from the stairs, turn left. Ahead of you is a Field Drone (1/1) and Codex (4/7):

External image

External image

Head down the stairs from here and into a large area with more enemies to kill. There is a Quad Damage powerup here. Once they are defeated instead of heading through the large door for the objective, turn around and you should find a dark cave that looks empty. There is a Lever in here for the Secret Door. Once you have pulled this, head as if you are going to the large door, but instead of heading along the bridge section to it, jump down to the left and turn right. You will find the Secret Door on your right that you can enter for Secret (6/6):

External image

External image

External image

Once you have explored the secret door, head to the objective door and go down the stairs. Defeat the enemies and do some platforming. Once you get across the room, you should find a Codex (5/7):

Challenges

Skeet Shoot: Kill a revenant while it is in mid-air

  • This is the tall skinny demon with a jetpack, that fires rockets at you. Wait for it to use the jetpack and then blast it with some rockets. If it lands, then wait again for it to use the jetpack.

Close Encounters: Kill 5 demons with a chainsaw

  • Use the chainsaw on the smaller enemies as they cost less fuel. You should start work on this early in the level, so you always have space to pick up more fuel. It will not take long, as the smaller demons only cost 1 fuel.

Knowledge is Power: Acquire 3 Data-Logs

  • There are 5 codex in the level that will count towards this. If you follow the walkthrough then you will get this.

At the end jump over the wall and you will find the objective. Instead of activating the button, you should go to the left of this and find a Rune (1/2):

External image

External image

Just below the rune is a secret. To get to it you have to fall off the edge and time a jump onto the platform whilst you are falling. Use your map to work out when you are above it and fall off. When you see the ledge use your jump and direct yourself on to the platform. The In-Flight Mobility rune you just earned will help here. Within the Secret (3/6) is an Elite Guard (2/4):

External image

External image

Leave the secret area and go right across to the platform with the gravity booster. Use this to get back up to the top and then follow the objective. Proceed through to the large area where you fight some enemies. After they are defeated, go to the right side of the room to find an AutoMap:

External image

After the Gore Nest is defeated, on the ground where it was should be a Codex (5/5):

External image

External image

Head through the door and find the yellow keycard. Look above the yellow door and you should find a platform above you can climb to. This is a Secret (6/6) containing a Collectible (Patriotguy):

After getting off the tram, head up the stairs and go left. The second door on the left goes to the female toilets which contains an opening in the ceiling. From the sink, jump up there and head through to enter a room that unlocks a Secret (1/10) containing an AutoMap and an Elite Guard (1/3):

Press the button to open the door and defeat the enemies. Continue to the room with the objective and you will find an Argent Cell (1/2) in here:

External image

External image

Activate the button for the objective and continue to the next area. Once the enemies are killed, you should see a reception desk where your next objective is. There is a Codex (1/4) on this:

External image

External image

Activate the button and continue to the next room. Clear the Gore Nest and enemies and then move on to the next room for some story and then take the elevator down. You will find a Codex (2/4) as you exit:

External image

External image

At the split in the path, go left to find an Elite Guard (2/3):

External image

External image

Now head to the right on the path and through some doors. Outside you will find a Gore Nest. Once you deal with that, go to the objective to lower the security field and then to the left of where that was, you should find a door that is now open. Head in here and activate the airlock and get a Secret (2/10) and find a Rune (1/2):

External image

External image

Head back through the airlock and jump across to the platform. Climb between them until you reach the top. From here look across the level and you should see some pipes that have glowing light behind them. Jump across to here and going behind the pipes will unlock a Secret (3/10) that contains mega-health:

External image

External image

From these pipes as you are looking out to where you jumped from, jump to your left and you should be able to climb behind some more pipes to enter a Secret (4/10) that contains a Collectible (Phobosguy):

External image

External image

As you exit this area, with the pipes in front of you, look to your left. You should see a Lever behind the fence. To reach this you should climb to the top of the middle section and double jump to the pipe. Hopefully you will land on one of the brackets that holds it in place. Alternatively you can climb round from the previous secret. Both these take some luck as it is easy to mess up and fall. After pulling the lever, you should double jump around the pipes and land on one of the larger brackets. Then make your way back through where the security field was and ahead of you on the left side is the Secret Door that unlocks a Secret (5/10):

External image

External image

Now head back in to the middle of the area and on the opposite side from the pipes that held secret 3 you will see a pipe you can walk along that leads to Secret (6/10) that contains an Argent Cell (2/2):

External image

External image

Now continue to the objective, along the pipe when it opens. Turn left and climb up through here. Go along the next corridor until you find a fan on the left. There is a button on the window that you can press to stop the fan. Once the fan stops, a hatch will open in there that you can climb down to reach a Secret (7/10) that contains a Field Drone (1/1):

External image

Lazarus Labs (Level 9)

Challenges

Variety is the Spice of Death: Perform 5 different glory kills on Possessed Soldiers

  • You will find Possessed Soldiers throughout the level so I won't list specific locations. Try to remember which point part you are pointing at when you perform the glory kill, so you don't repeat them. There are more than 5 Possessed Soldiers though, so it is fine if you kill some of them incorrectly.

Thread the Needle: Kill 8 demons with a single shot

  • You will be using the BFG for this (Press cn_LT to equip it). When you find a room with enough enemies, run around a bit to gather them up. The BFG reach is far, but it is possible to wound, but not kill the bigger guys if they are too far from the shot. When you fire, make sure it is above the enemies, not at them. If it hits and enemy then they absorb the shot. There are a few good rooms to get this in. If you don't have the BFG rounds when you reach them, then just keep an eye out as you go and you should find them for one of the last rooms. You can click the following to jump to the points in the walkthrough: BFG kills 1 and BFG kills 2.

Time Well Spent: Play a game of Demon Destruction

  • This game is a terminal in one of the rooms. It doesn't immediately stand out as a game you can play so is easy to miss. You can click the following to jump to the point in the walkthrough: Demon Destruction

External image

External image

After picking up the health you will drop into a room with a Gore Nest. Kill the enemies here and then continue to the next room. At the end you will climb up and have a door in front of you. Instead of continuing, turn around and jump across and follow the path until you reach a dead end. Open the vent cover here for a Secret (2/9) containing an Elite Guard (1/4) and Codex (2/5):

External image

External image

Head back to the door and go through it, at the end go through another door and you will find a Field Drone (1/1):

Now exit the room and follow the path until you reach a vent cover you can smash through. In front of you will be a Codex (3/5):

External image

External image

Continue on until you reach 2 doors. The door on the left will be locked and contains a Rune behind it. There is a vent cover in the floor in front of this door that you can open and drop into to unlock a Secret (3/9) and follow through to a Rune (1/2):

External image

External image

After completing the rune, press the button to exit through the door and continue on the path, killing enemies as you go. At the end of the path, you will come to an open vent cover that you can drop through. I found this room best to get the thread the needle challenge. I ran around all the rooms, dodging the enemies and headed into the main room. I then used the BFG to fire across the room above all the enemies to get the required 8 kills. Don't fire directly at enemies and it can stop the BFG shot. Once you have killed the enemies, you are meant to head down either of 2 sets of stairs and through a door. Instead find these stairs and between both of them is button you can press on the left side. This will open a door to a Secret (4/9) containing an Elite Guard (2/4):

External image

External image

Now head through either of the doors down the stairs and through the next big door. This room contains another large fight. You can also get the 8 kills in here for the challenge. Once you have cleared out the room, on the left side from where you entered are large stone blocks. Go behind any of these (the second from left has a Mega-Health) to find a vent you can enter that unlocks a Secret (5/9) that contains a Collectible (Eliteguy):

External image

External image

Head back into the room and open the big door with the button. At the end of the corridor, activate the button to get a loading screen before proceeding. Enter the next big room and climb up to your right look around the second floor for glass panel that has read text all over it. Next to this on the wall will be a bit sticking out that has a red light on it. You can activate this to open it up and get a Secret (6/9) that contains a Collectible (Toxicguy):

Once you have killed them all, the floor underneath the stone will open. Head down the stairs that opened up and through a church like room. Continue on through the next corridor into a room that has a hole in the middle. To the right of this hole is the Lever that opens the Secret Door. Pull this and jump into the hole for a Secret (7/9) containing an Elite Guard (3/4). Down here you will find the Secret Door also that unlocks another Secret (8/9):

External image

External image

External image

Now press the button to call down an elevator, jump on before it heads back into the ceiling and then continue on the path, drop down and head through the door. Fight some enemies here and continue along the corridor. You will enter a room with a button to press which will open 2 doors behind it. Head through either of these and kill the enemies. Then enter the room on the right and to the left of where you enter is a gap in the wall you can jump into. This will drop you down into a Secret (9/9) containing an Elite Guard (4/4) and a Rune (2/2):

Challenges

Trick Shot: Kill a Lost Soul with another Lost Soul

  • The Lost souls are the floating skulls that charge at you when you get close. When you shoot one, it will fly backwards and explode. For this challenge you need to get it to explode near another lost soul. I got this by firing a rocket using the remote detonation at 2 of them whilst they were next to each other. You can jump to the walkthrough points by clicking Trick shot 1, Trick shot 2, Trick shot 3 and Trick shot 4.

Atop the Mountain: Perform a "Death from Above" glory kill on a Baron of Hell

  • The Baron of Hell is hard to get a Death from Above on. Even a double jump isn't a guarantee. So make sure you get it into the glory kill state near a ledge or stairs so you can double jump from higher than it. There are a few areas that contain the Baron of Hell. You can jump to the section of the walkthrough that I got it by clicking this.

Once you have pressed this, head to the left of the door you entered and there should be another enemy. Once this is defeated a gate should lower here. External image

External image

Head through the gate that opened and you will enter an area that has a Haste powerup on the top floor that you can use for the Dominator challenge. After defeating the enemies head into the teleporter and fight the enemies here. There is a Quad Damage powerup in one of the lower paths you can use to work on the Dominator challenge. There are 2 Barons of Hell in this area for the Atop the Mountain challenge. Once they are defeated, head back to where the teleporter is, make a right from here, then up some stairs and right again. External image

External image

Now head to the middle section of the upper level. The platform contains some armour. In here is a yellow skull. When you loot this, the ceiling will start to lower. When it gets part way down, all wall will open up on the opposite side to the yellow skull. Stand here for safety. Now drop into the next room and down the stairs to an area with some enemies and an Invincibility powerup you can use for the Dominator challenge. There is a button here and next to it is an Elite Guard (2/2):

Now head through the yellow door and clear the area. There is a platform slamming into the ground and going back up. You need to jump on this platform to press a button at the top to open the door to the next area and the wall that hides the lever. Turn around from the door that opens and in the left corner you will find the Lever to open the Secret Door. After pulling this, you should head back up to where the yellow door was and go right. A Pin Pops a Balloon: Kill a Mancubus with the pistol

  • The Mancubus is the fat enemy with the green eye. Having a full upgraded pistol will help with this, also equipping the Dazed and Confused rune helps as it keeps them in glory kill state for longer. It is not possible to kill them by just shooting, you have to use a charged shot. I didn't have the pistol mastered when I completed the challenge, but without the rune, it was impossible to do. I won't reference all the spots as the enemy appears in most areas.

Two Mouths to Feed: Kill 2 Cacodemons with one shot

  • There is 1 perfect spot for this where 3 pretty much line up. You should use the Gauss Cannon and charge up the Siege shot. You just need to fire roughly near them to get the kills, so aim for the middle. Click the Cacodemons Challenge link to find the spot.

Wait For It: Kill 10 demons with explosive barrels

  • There are only 3 good spots to get the barrel kills and they are near the start. You can jump to the spots by clicking Barrel 1, Barrel 2 and 3.

There will also be a Mancubus you can kill with a pistol for the challenge. Then head downstairs and go left. You will find a Codex (2/3) and an Argent Cell(1/1):

An enemy will charge through and kill the possessed so you have to blow it up before that happens to get any to count. Then press the button and fight more enemies. Now go back down the stairs and turn right. This room is a good one to get 6 barrel kills for the challenge (there is a barrel at either side and 1 in the middle). Wait for them to walk close to the barrels and bunch up before blowing them up. Then press the button to spawn some enemies. You will get 2 Cacodemons here to try for the challenge, also 1 Mancubus. Once they are defeated, head to the right of where the yellow skull is to get the AutoMap:

External image

External image

Now go diagonally opposite from where the AutoMap is to locate the Lever that opens the Secret Door. Head back to where the AutoMap was and the gate will have lowered allowing you to go back to the previous area. On the far right corner is where the Secret Door is and enter here for Secret (1/3):

External image

External image

Now grab the yellow skull and head through the teleporter. Climb up to the middle and open the yellow door. Pull the switch behind it and head through the teleporter. You will fight more enemies here, including multiple Cacodemons and Mancubus for the challenge. Once they are defeated, grab the blue skull. Head through the teleporter and climb up into the middle. Open the blue door and pull the switch. Some enemies will spawn and once they are killed, the lower middle will open up. Jump into the hole here. When you land, the opposite way from the route you are to head along will be a Codex (3/3):

External image

External image

Drop into the next hole and you will find 3 Cacodemons in a row. This is the best place for the challenge. Jump across the next 2 platforms and at the edge of this one will be a platform below. Jump onto that to find a Secret (2/3) containing a Collectible (Tealguy):

External image

External image

Jump over the rest of the platforms and enter a hallway with a Mancubus and just before that, on your right will be an Elite Guard (1/2):

The achievement actually unlocked early for me when I was loading that last rune trial.

Continue into the next area and defeat the enemies. Then head through to the new area that has opened up. After clearing the enemies here, look next to the new gate that opens to find an Elite Guard (2/2):

External image

External image

Continues through the gate and fight some more enemies. Once you have cleared out the enemies, head back to where you entered and look above the door you are to proceed through. You should see a big skull with a red glowing thing in the centre of its head. Shoot this with a rocket and if you hit is at the right spot (it can take a few tries, just above the middle of it worked for me), a Collectible (Hazmatguy) will come out and float down to you which gives you Secret (3/3):

External image

External image

Then go through the door and press the button at the end to get taken to a fight against a Hell Guard. You can only do damage when lowers its shield to attack. After a little bit of damage it will start charging a big yellow lightning ball to fire at you. If you attack at this point then you will deal extra damage. After killing the first one, 2 more will spawn. I hammered these with 2 BFG shots and multiple rocket blasts and 1 didn't get a chance to attack or put its shield up, the other only got a few attacks off and no shields. Once they are defeated you will unlock:

Challenges

Variety is the Spice of Death: Perform 5 different glory kills on Imps

  • Get Imps into the glory kill state and then perform the glory kills on different body parts each time. Just after the first collectible, you will drop into an area that contains 6 imps and no other enemies. This is where I got the challenge done. Just make sure you don't shoot them when they are on the wall as they will die without going into glory kill state. I used melee instead of firing to avoid accidentally killing them. You can jump to the relevant walkthrough section by clicking Imps.

Gore Pinata: Kill 3 demons with one Frag Grenade

  • When you start the level, make sure you have the Frag Grenade equipped (left or right on the D-Pad to switch). There are a few spots that I tried this in. You can go for this anywhere you have 3 or more demons, but you want the weaker enemies which is why I would advise the corridors I mention. You can jump to the specific points by clicking Gore Pinata 1 and Gore Pinata 2.

My Teeth are Sharper: Kill a Cacodemon with the Chainsaw

  • The Cacodemon appears in multiple areas of the game, so I won't reference specific point, just the first one a few appear in. They are the floating ball enemies. Simply equip the chainsaw and double jump up to them. The area I got it was Cacodemon

Level Walkthrough

Head through either door and you will find a Codex (1/4):

External image

External image

Continue on and go through the Airlock. Once outside, take the first right and you will find an Elite Guard (1/3):

External image

External image

Climb up to the next path and follow it. You will come to a point in which the path is destroy. Drop down one level and then look across on the right side of this, you should see a door. Going through this leads to a Secret (1/5) containing a Collectible (Quakeguy):

External image

External image

Drop into the next area to fight some Imps you can use for the glory kill challenge. Then continue through the door and then hatch. Pull either of the objective switches to get into a fight. Once they are defeated pull the other switch and press the button. More enemies will spawn, including some Cacodemons you can chainsaw. Once dealt with, continue on the path, through the door and you should find some Possessed that can be used for the gore pinata challenge. Now head through the door in front of you and turn left. At the end of the room in the right corner is a Codex (2/4):

External image

External image

Turn around from the codex and there is a dead end path on the right. Find the hatch here and drop down. In the corridors ahead will be more than 3 easy to kill enemies that you should use the Frag grenade on for the challenge. Continue along the path to find the blue keycard. Then head out the door and go left. Here you will find the AutoMap:

External image

External image

Then go through the next door to fight 1 enemy and then interact with the Elite Guard (2/3) for a Secret (2/5):

External image

External image

just behind the Elite Guard are 2 small crate that are hiding the Lever to the Secret Door. Pull this and head back through the 3 doors you just came through and along this corridor will be the Secret Door to unlock another Secret (3/5):

External image

External image

Now head all the way back to the room with the lever and jump through the hole that the enemy came from. You will grab a Mega-health as you drop down. Turn around from where you land and drop to the platform below. Here you will unlock a Secret (4/5) and grab the Collectible (Jungleguy):

External image

External image

Climb up and head into the next room. Go through the door and drop down to the platform. In the right corner of this platform is a Codex (3/4):

External image

Take out the 4 objectives here and all the enemies and then move on by jumping on the train. When the train stops, take out all the enemies and then find the elevator you are meant to up on. Underneath this is a Secret (5/5) containing an Elite Guard (3/3):

If you have been following the guide to this point and not missed an Elite Guard, then this should be your last required Praetor token to spend and unlock:

Argent D'Nur (Level 13)

Challenges

Hold Still: Kill 2 Barons of Hell with one shot

  • You can not use the BFG for this. It doesn't count. I used the Gauss Cannon. I had Quad Damage and waited for 2 of them to line up and then fired a Siege attack at them. If you fail then reload checkpoint and try again. To jump to the point in the walkthrough to do this, click here

Uncharted Territory: Find all 3 "Skull Switch" secrets

Big [REDACTED] Gun: Kill 25 demons with the BFG

  • Almost every section of the map has a big open area with lots of enemies, plus some BFG ammo. Just make sure you head around the area to get the enemies to spawn, before firing the shot. Also aim higher than the enemies so it doesn't hit the first one and disappear.

Level Walkthrough

Follow the path and jump down to the next area. Here you will fight some enemies. If you run around, but don't kill anything then you can get a lot of enemies to spawn, then head back to where you entered and fire a BFG above them all. You can get around 13 BFG kills here, more if you wait and fire a second shot. Once you have defeated these enemies. Move on to the next area. Drop down one level and press the button on the right. Climb back up on the left hand side and you will come to an opening in the corner for a Secret (1/5):

External image

External image

Drop down past the button and you could use another BFG here for around 7 more kill. Once the enemies are killed, go to the right. You will find some stairs with the AutoMap at the top:

External image

External image

Jump across from here and work your way to the right. When you reach the furthest right platform, jump across to the platform behind the floating platform next to you and continue along. You should find a mega-health and then enter another area with a lot of enemies. Run around to get them to spawn and then use the BFG. This will most likely get the last ones you need if you followed my previous steps. Once you have defeated the enemies, head to the top and press the objective button. Then turn around and go left down the stairs. Half way down the stairs on your right will be a button. Press this and then go right at the bottom of the stairs, into the opened door. Follow this round and when you climb up, there is a Lever in front of you. Pulling this opens the Secret Door to your right. Enter here for Secret (2/5) and upon exiting the secret door, heading straight forward will give you another Secret (3/5):

External image

External image

External image

Follow this path and drop into the next area where you will fight a lot more enemies. Another good BFG spot. After clearing the enemies, go up the left set of stairs and you will find a gap in them that you can fall into for a Secret (4/5) containing a Collectible (Cosmoguy):

External image

External image

Press the objective button and then make your way to the next objective path. You will drop into the next area, pass a door on your left and then lava flowing on your right. You will head up some stairs and the path will take a sharp left. To the right here is a button you can press that opens the door you passed previously for another Secret (5/5):

External image

External image

Continue to the next area for more enemies to kill. Near the end of the enemy spawns, you will get 3 Barons of Hell for the challenge. The BFG does not count for this challenge, so save the Quad Damage to give yourself more edge. If you have followed the guide and got all challenges to this point, then this should be your last group of challenges and you will unlock:

After killing the enemies and then activate the final objective. Then jump into the hole and face the final boss. The tactics here are simple. Dodge the attacks as best you can and keep on shooting. Ultra-Nightmare The UAC

This will probably be the last story achievement you go for. Ultra-Nightmare difficulty is locked until you complete level 6. You have 1 life, so if you die, you start again. The difficulty is the same as Nightmare difficulty. The thankful part is you only need to complete the first level.

You will die within a few hits, so you have to keep moving and dodge the enemy attacks. If you can clear out the enemies from a distance then you should. Don't charge into every area unless you have a lot of confidence in your abilities. Make use of your grenades, as well as the shotgun. The pistol is useful for long range kills, if you have the chance. Running away and recharging grenades is always a good tactic too. Completing the first level on Ultra-Nightmare will unlock:

KILL SPECIFIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Get 100 glory kills

Getting 100 glory kills will probably be one of your first achievements. Unless you are shooting at point blank range, most enemies will go into glory kill state. You then just need to melee them to get the glory kill. I wouldn't worry about missing this as it's the second most common achievement (after the unmissable first mission achievement).

Get 100 explosive barrel kills

This achievement came naturally for me as well. Any time there is a barrel in the area, it normally has at least 1 or 2 enemies near it. The barrel explosions have a lot of splash damage so you should get some kills on enemies that are not right next to them as well. If you still need this when you're done with the campaign, take a look at Dwaggenite's map in his solution - it should be a very easy way to knock it out. Once you kill 100, the achievement will unlock:

Get 50 chainsaw kills

You will first encounter the chainsaw on level 2. It starts with 3 units of fuel and that can be increased to 8 when you fully upgrade the Ammo category using Argent Cells. You refill 3 units each time you loot a fuel can. The weaker enemies (The Possessed, Possessed Soldiers, Imps) take just 1 unit to kill. Bigger enemies take more. Getting a chainsaw kill will provide you with a lot of ammo for your guns, so you should make frequent use of it as you play. There is always plenty of fuel to loot, so it isn't worth waiting. On your 50th kill, you will unlock:

Get 150 powerup kills

The second level contains the first powerup, and from then on, there are usually at least 2 or 3 powerups per level. Make use of these whilst you are getting kills to work on this achievement. If you get to the end of the single player and still need this, then I would advise using level 6 (Kadingir Sanctum) as there are 4 powerups on that level and they are all in areas containing a lot of enemies (I detail the locations in the level walkthrough). You can put Praetor Tokens into upgrade the powerups so they last longer. After your 150th kill, you will unlock:

Glory kill all common enemy types

You have to glory kill each type of common enemy for one of the achievements. This will likely come naturally as you are often presented with glory kills of each time of enemy. You can track which enemies you have got the glory kill on by pressing the touch pad and looking under the Codex menu (far right) at the Monsters section. There is one monster that appears in this section that you can not Glory Kill which is the Lost Soul. The enemies you need to glory kill and the levels they first appear on are:

The Possessed: The UAC (level 1)

Imp: The UAC (level 1)

Possessed Soldier: The UAC (level 1)

Possessed Engineer: Resource Operations (Level 2)

Hell Razer: Resource Operations (Level 2)

Possessed Security: Resource Operations (Level 2)

Hell Knight: Foundry (Level 3)

Summoner: Argent Facility (Level 4)

Revenant: Argent Energy Tower (Level 5)

Mancubus: Argent Energy Tower (Level 5)

Unwilling: Kadingir Sanctum (Level 6)

Cacodemon: Kadingir Sanctum (Level 6)

Baron of Hell: Kadingir Sanctum (Level 6)

Pinky: Argent Facility (Destroyed) (Level 7)

Once you get a glory kill on each of these, you will unlock:

UPGRADE SPECIFIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Rune upgrades

You unlock each rune by completing each rune trial throughout the story. You will get them all if you follow either the text or video walkthrough. I will list these in ones you can combine together, rather than order they unlock.

Collection

These 4 can be combined as they are related to collecting items as you play.

Vacuum: Absorb 300 dropped items

  • Just having this equipped as you play will get this one upgraded as anything you collect will count. Collecting ammo is one of the quickest, refer to Ammo Boost for why

Ammo Boost: Pick up 500 ammo items

  • Ammo can be collected most efficiently using the chainsaw after you have depleted most weapons ammo.

Armored Offensive: Earn 2500 points of armor

  • Having this equipped means that demons will drop armour when they are glory killed. Also any armour you loot will count towards it. I would recommend equipping this when it is unlocked, to upgrade it as you finish the story. If you want to grind out the upgrade then you need to find any room that contains enemies and armour, take damage and then loot the armour, then reload the checkpoint and repeat

Rich Get Richer: Fill your armor value to max 12 times

  • This one can be done easily if you are at full armour and near an armour loot. Simply get hit and loot the armour to get back to full again. You can repeat this until done 12 times, it doesn't have to be a full refill, just enough to reach the limit again.

Glory and normal Kills

These 8 can be combined in any combination to work on multiple together:

Dazed and Confused: Perform 25 Death from Above Glory Kills

  • This is easier to work on after the start of level 5 as you have thrust boots so you can double jump making "death from above" glory kills easier.

In-Flight Mobility: Kill 30 demons while in mid-air

  • A "Death from Above" glory kill will count towards this. So this combines perfectly with Dazed and Confused rune.

Seek and Destroy: Glory Kill 75 demons

  • Simply get 75 glory kills with this equipped. No tips needed as it should be a common killing method anyway.

Savagery: Perform 25 unique glory kills while savagery is equipped

  • With this equipped, you need 25 unique glory kills. So from the front, the behind, at the arms, legs, or head. Each gives a unique glory kill. Different enemies perform different glory kills on the same spots, so I wouldn't even worry about this. Just equip it and run through some levels and it should come naturally if you glory kill most enemies.

Blood Fueled: Kill 50 demons during the speed boost

  • The speed boost starts after a glory kill is performed, so this combines with any of the above. Basically perform a glory kill and then kill some demons quickly. If you perform another glory kill then it will keep the speed boost going. A quick way of doing this is in a heavily populated area, glory kill an enemy and then use the BFG to kill as many in the area as you can.

Intimacy is Best: Stagger 100 demons

  • A stagger is putting an enemy into a glory kill state. You can repeat on the same enemy if you wish, but I would recommend just running through the levels with this equipped, or finding an enemy heavy area and reloading when you have almost killed them all.

Equipment Power: Use 30 Equipment Items

  • This is quicker to do once the Equipment System section of the Praetor Suit is upgraded as equipment recharges quicker and you have 2 to use at a time. The equipment is used by pressing L1 and you can see it recharge in the bottom right.

Saving Throw: Kill 10 demons while Saving Throw is active

  • This is very easy to get. With a BFG equipped, in an area with a lot of enemies, let the enemies hit you until you run out of health. The game will slow down, this is saving throw. Now fire the BFG above the enemies and it will count every kill you get as long as you were quick enough. Reload and repeat if needed. You can't just repeat it as the saving throw only works once.

Once you upgrade one of the runes, you will unlock:

Gun modification upgrades

Before you can master a weapon mod, you first need to upgrade it. To get weapon upgrade points, you need to find collectibles and kill as many enemies in the level. There is a tracker in the top right of the hud that shows you how close to each upgrade point you are. You unlock this hud on the third level. My tips assume you are on the easiest difficulty as the enemies die quickest there.

Combat Shotgun

Charged Burst: Kill 5 Mancubi with the Charged Blast

  • The Mancubus first appears on Argent Energy Tower (Level 5). Simply get the kill of 5 of them using the charged shot.

Explosive Shot: Get 20 direct hits on Imps with the explosive shot

  • I used the first level for this one as there are quite a few imps. I combined this with Stun Bombs on the plasma rifle.

Super Shotgun

Improvements: Kill multiple demons with a Super Shotgun blast 30 times

  • The first level is one of the easiest for this as most enemies die within 1 shot of the super shotgun. Line up 2 demons close together and hopefully they both die.

Heavy Assault Rifle

Tactical Scope: Get 50 headshot kills while using the Tactical Scope

  • Again the first level is good for this as the enemies die so quickly. The Possessed and Imps for example will die with a headshot. Just reply the level as required.

Micro Missiles: Stick 4 different demons in five seconds

  • Find any area in the game with 4 or more enemies. Aim at each of them and fire 1 shot. Make sure it is just 1 shot, as you will fail to get this if you have to reload. The demons do not have to die, so this can be on even the biggest enemies.

Chaingun

Gatling Rotator: Get 5 kills in five seconds while using the Gatling Rotator

  • This works in most heavy populated areas as there are often a lot of smaller enemies. The first level is one of the best places as you will find more than 5 possessed grouped together. The cave that contains the AutoMap is a good location.

Mobile Turret: Kill 4 or more demons during a single Mobile Turret deploy 5 times

  • This doesn't have to be done quickly. As long as you don't let go of cn_LT until you get 4 kills, this will count. Once you get 4 kills, make sure you let go of cn_LT before getting more kills, as it will still count as the first deployment so it will be wasted.

Plasma Rifle

Heat Blast: Kill multiple demons with a single Heat Blast 20 times

  • The Heat Blast charges as you first the weapon normally. So you have to shoot at random to build the blast before you can deploy it. This is best done with the rune Rich Get Richer equipped if you have it as that will give you unlimited ammo when you have 100 armour (75 if upgraded). Find any area with more than 1 demon, charge it up and then blast it with cn_LT to kill more than 1. The first level again is good due to the weak enemies.

Stun Bomb: Kill 30 stunned demons

  • Quickest if you have the BFG. Find an area with a big build up of demons (the later levels are best). Try to group them together as best you can and then fire the Stun Bomb. Then fire a BFG above them and they should all get killed.

Gauss Rifle

Precision Bolt: Kill 5 Hell Knights with a Precision Bolt headshot

  • I did this one on the Foundry (Level 3) as it is the first level the Hell Knights appear in and there are about 6 or 7 throughout the level. I worked on other gun mods whilst waiting on the Hell Knights. If you have trouble getting the aim on them then equip the Dazed and Confused rune and put them into a glory state first. The rune slows them down in this state, making it much easier to aim.

Siege Mode: Kill three or more demons with a siege mode beam 10 times

  • The later levels have more enemy build ups, but a lot of the time, you won't kill all you aim at in one go, unless you have Quad Damage, so I would advise the earlier levels. I used the first level as there are multiple Possessed grouped together.

Rocket Launcher

Remote Detonation: Kill 3 or more demons with a single detonation 15 times

  • The later levels have more enemy build ups, but a lot of the time, you won't kill all you aim at in one go, unless you have Quad Damage, so I would advise the earlier levels. I used the first level as there are multiple Possessed grouped together.

Lock-on Burst: Kill 5 summoners using the lock-on burst

  • I did this on the Argent Facility (Level 4). Just after one of the Argent Filter objectives, when you leave the room you are in, a Summoner will appear. 2 lock on bursts are enough to kill the summoner. I then immediately reloaded the checkpoint and did it again. After 5 times, this was done.

Pistol

Charged Energy Shot: Get 15 headshot kill with the charged energy shot

  • The first level is best for this one. The enemies are slow and die with 1 charged shot so it won't take long. Just dodge whilst it is charging and then aim at the head. If you have trouble getting the aim on them then equip the Dazed and Confused rune and put them into a glory state first. The rune slows them down in this state, making it much easier to aim.

Arcade Mode was added in through a title update, consisting of portions of levels from the campaign with an added scoring system. Start up Kadingir Sanctum
on I'm Too Young to Die, your objective will be to earn every type of medal in one run. The medals are:

Multi Kill:
Kill a cluster of weak lesser demons using a grenade or other explosives.

Super Kill:
Once you reach the area with the Baron fighting the horde of Unwilling, throw a grenade in that general area. The resulting explosion should kill enough Unwilling to net you a Super Kill. If you don't get a Super Kill here, kill all the enemies so the door unlocks and you can progress. Down the hill and past the door there is another group of Unwilling. Killing them with a grenade should earn you a Super Kill.

Barrel Kill:
Kill a demon by shooting a barrel or a mine.

Glory Kill:
Perform a Glory Kill.

Death From Above:
While an enemy is stunned double jump above them and execute a glory kill.

Head Shot:
I recommend using the Heavy Assault Rifle's Tactical Scope mod for pinpoint head shot accuracy. But if you're not a fan of the rifle and prefer to get up close and personal, you can also do this with the shotgun.

Stunned Kill:
Bring up the weapon wheel and equip the Plasma Rifle. Then press cn_up to attach the Stun Bomb mod. Simply hit a demon with the Stun Bomb (cn_LT) and kill it while it is stunned.

Mid-Air Kill:
I find it easiest to kill Imps while they are jumping up to a ledge, or across a gap. I recommend using Siege Mode on the Gauss Cannon so there is no chance of missing.

Direct Hit Kill:
Kill a demon with a direct hit from the Rocket Launcher or Explosive shot from the Combat Shotgun.

Triple Hit:
While using the Combat Shotgun hit cn_up to attach the Charge Burst. Press and hold cn_LT to initiate alt-fire mode, and then fire the gun like normal. Landing all three shots on lesser demons should kill them and net you the medal.

Gold Relic:
Shooting the mines cause them to explode and launch a relic. The relic stays gold for a few seconds, so collect it before it changes color to get this medal.

Silver Relic:
Same as the Gold Relic medal, but wait for the relic to turn silver before collecting it.

Bronze Relic:
After the relic turns silver wait a little longer for it to turn bronze and then collect it.

Extra Life:
Collecting Doomguy bobble heads grants you extra lives. They now have green auras and are found floating in new locations.

After getting the last one, you will unlock:

Title Update 6.66 added and changed a very large amount of content for the multiplayer portion of the game, making the previously released DLC items free to play and adding challenges to the multiplayer. If you did not purchase the "Unto the Evil", "Hell Followed", or "Bloodfall" packs while they were still on the marketplace for $15 each you are now in for quite a grind. If not, keep playing until you do. You need to rank up anyway, so don't fret if it takes a few matches. Your next goal is to unlock weapons, armor, and taunts from multiplayer progression. Challenges will occasionally pop up that give you these items as rewards, but all can be unlocked by reaching a certain level or Echelon (prestige). I'll list the order in which these unlock so that you can utilize them as fast as possible. The fastest way to earn is XP is by playing when double XP is enabled, completing challenges, or playing the objective in your gametype of choice. With that said and done, this is the unlock list:

The "Ambusher" class starts with the grenade launcher. Enter any match and get 10 kills with this weapon (easier in modes that require you to defend or attack certain positions on the map as opposed to deathmatch game types), make sure to utilize the splash damage.
