Hasbro Family Game Night

Welcome to the Family Game Night walkthrough. Since each game is a downloadable pack for the Game Night hub I've divided each into their own page, so you can navigate through the guide reading and find the pertinent information with ease.

There are 91 achievements, which add up to a total of 1850G, for this game. Please be aware that if you live outside of North America you won't be able to play one of the downloadable packs (Scrabble). While Hasbro own the rights to Scrabble in North America, they does not own the rights to it over the rest of the world, Mattel does. This mean that unless you have a US (or Canadian) account and a NTSC console you won't be able to play Scrabble at all. Please note, if you have a US account on a PAL or NTSC-J console, you'll be able to purchase and download Scrabble but when you load up the Family Game Night hub, it simply won't be there and you'll have wasted money and time!

While each of these games are available through the marketplace, you can purchase a retail disc that includes: Battleship, Connect 4, Yahtzee, Boggle, Sorry! and Sorry! Sliders.

Now for the most part we'll be using multiple controllers. You'll need a total of 4, but only for one game (Connect 4x4). For all the other games, you'll only need two controllers. Only a few achievements tied to the game require single player progress for achievements. Using extra controllers means you're, for the most part, in control of the game and therefore can work toward achievements much easier and much faster than you would if you played against the AI or online. If you don't have access to extra controllers and/or are unable to borrow any from friends, don't fret. You are able to unlock the same achievements by playing online and you might want to find yourself a boosting partner and work toward the achievements together.

With that, I think I've covered everything. Click on the next page for tips (though there aren't many because this game is quite easy) or feel free to continue to a game page relevant to you by using the pages side tab.

There's not much in the way of tips for this game as it's all really easy. However, you'll want to try and track down 4 controllers (for one of the game packs) and at least 2 controllers for the other game packs. Below, I've layout what is needed for each of the games, how long it'll take you, and any other useful information.

Before we get to that, here are a few tips for all the games. Keep track of your achievement progress by checking out the option "achievements" on the in game menu. In most of the games they have counters that show you the progress you've made on that particular achievement.

This last bit isn't so much a tip as it is a pointer. If you happen to have the retail copy of the game and have also purchased the extra games not included with the retail disc, you'll need to download the hub. When you boot up the retail disc, it only allows you to play the games on that disc and not any additional content that you've downloaded.

Battleship

1-2 hours, 2 controllers. There's nothing much to this game pack. You'll unlock nearly all of the achievements for it in a single game then it's just a case of grinding out the wins.

Boggle

1 hour, 2 controllers. This game takes a little bit of luck due to its nature but if you play on Word Hunt mode, it'll take at least having to work out which words you can spell since Word Hunt gives you a list of the possible words to spell. There is an achievement that requires a lot of 3 lettered words and, unfortunately, playing in Word Hunt won't be of any use since 3 lettered words never appear on the list. Instead head on over to this site and set the 'on screen board' up the same as your game, limiting the possible words to a minimum and maximum of 3 letters.

Connect 4

1 hour, 2 controllers. An easy completion and just like the rest of the game packs there's not much to this game. The only achievement you might have any trouble with is winning 4 single player rounds in a row, fortunately there's an amazing exploit to this and it's very simple - If you're losing... quit out and start a new game. That's right! The game doesn't count quits as losses so take advantage of that.

Connect 4x4

2 hours, 4 controllers. Here we are, the game that you need all the controllers in the world to complete. There is an achievement that you can only unlock in single player but thanks to the AI having to worry about the other AI players it's not actually that hard and should only take a couple of games to unlock. Once you've got that out of the way, use 4 controllers. While this can be a pain, it means you have complete control of the game and all the other achievements will be a breeze.

Jenga

1-2 hours, 2 controllers. For the most part Jenga is very, very easy but you might have a little trouble with playing a multiplayer game that lasts at least 20 moves. There's not much to it. Just keep carefully pulling blocks from the middle sections and rotating round the tower so that you don't pull it too far in any one direction.

Pictureka

1-2 hours, 2 controllers. This game can be a little frustrating but it's still easy. There's not a great deal to say here in terms of tips. One thing that will save you a lot of effort is to have a camera (phones work too!) on hand. When a round starts, take a photo of it. Then if, for example, you need to find the letters to a word, you can do so with the photo while the game is paused. You'll then need to resume the game and select the letters and, with any luck, pick up the achievement for finding/spelling a word within a pretty strict time limit. The same can be done for the achievement that requires you find an image in a certain time.

Scrabble

2-3 hours, 2 controllers and you'll also need to play at least one online game. This is the game that upsets most people, since it is only accessible to those living in North America. There's not a lot I can suggest here in the way of tips. If you're finding it difficulty to find words to spell then be sure to check out this site as it'll help you find all the words you can spell with your current letters. The nice thing the site is it's sorted by the official Scrabble players dictionary.

Sorry!

2 hours, 4 controllers. Just like Connect 4x4 the hassle of playing with 4 controllers is massively outweighed by the ability to completely control the game and make sure you get what you're working toward. This game is incredibly straight forward. The only reason it'll take 2 hours is because of how long a 4 player game takes. I'd suggest trying to get all of the achievements you need 4 players for out of the way in the first game so that afterwards you can drop down to 2 controllers (and no AI players) to make things run quicker.

Sorry! Sliders

2 hours, 2 controllers (4 is optional). This game is a little long winded and, unlike the other games where having more controllers makes the achievements easier, I personally found that having AI players made it a little easier. Don't worry too much about the achievement for playing for a hour. If by chance you're done before you unlock it, just set up a game and leave it running.

Yahtzee

1-2 hours, 2 controllers. This game can be a little frustrating because it's a little based on luck. To help even the odds, make sure to play with Wild Dice on. This will result in you randomly being allowed to change the dies value. Even with the random element to the game it's still incredibly easy. There's a nice way of clocking up wins too; Opt to play against... no-one. That's right. Play against no-one and just keep rolling and accepting the die until the game is over (playing Half-card mode to speed things up). To make things even easier, if you have a turbo pad you can use of it here.

There, with that said and done let's crack on! The games are listed in the same order I've presented them here. Feel free to go through them in whichever order you wish, making use of the sidebar to easily navigate through this walkthrough.

Battleship

Welcome to Battleship, this is very... very easy to complete and you'll spend more time grinding matches than you will anything else. It should only take an hour or so to complete but you will need 2 controllers to do it in that timeframe.

First of all head on over to custom game, make sure you're on 1 round victories, and start up a game of Salvo. When the game starts place all of your units inside 2 lines, I always placed mine on the bottom row horizontally but feel free to mix it up if you want. When the game prompts Player 2 to place his units do exactly the same but make sure to place the Destroyer (the small 2 unit ship) first in its row and put the 3 unit ship next to it. If you have it set up as I did, the bottom row will have one free grid space and the row about it will have two.

I'll list all the achievements you'll unlock in this game at the end of the game.

In Salvo mode you're able fire off as many shots as you have ships in your fleet, you have 5 units and so... 5 shots. For the first round target the line you placed the Destroyer in and (assuming you placed the units left to right) fire in a line so that you destroy it and the next ship. Provided that went off without a hitch that's 3 achievements unlocked right there!

Throughout the game always make your second controller misses. Just fire as far away from your ships as possible.

On your next 3 turns fire in rows of 5 so that by the end of your 4th turn you've destroyed all the enemy ships and won the game. The board should look like the bottom 20 grid squares have all been hit (provided you placed them in the bottom of the grid, obviously if you placed the ships at the top of the board, the top 20 grid squares should all be marked off). That's the first game done... and most of the achievements unlocked too!

Now opt to play again. Do exactly the same as you did last game but instead of you winning make it so that Player 2 is winning and your shots are missing. At some point during the game you'll see that you made a hit, but know that it's not true because you know there are no ships there, its just a decoy. On your next turn fire well away from that area (its area of effect is only one adjacent square, but be safe and fire as far as possible). Once you've done that you'll unlock the next achievement;

I thought I heard singing...

Do not fall for a Decoy

Once you've unlocked the above achievement the best thing to do is restart the match. Restarting is quicker than trying to win with a crippled fleet.

There's not much to this next achievement, just keep starting up Salvo games and winning them. It goes by quicker than you'd think and you can keep track of your progress by pausing the game and selecting "achievements" from the in game menu. Once you've won 20 games you'll unlock the final achievement.

That's it. You've completed the game pack. Congratulations!

Boggle

Welcome to Boggle, one of the easiest game packs for Family Game Night. It'll take about one hour to complete and you'll need two controllers to complete it in that timeframe.

First of all make sure that both your controllers are signed in and ready to go, then set up a custom game. We want it to be one minute long and on the game type "Word Hunt". In this mode you'll have a list on the side of the screen telling you which words are able to be spelt out with the current configuration of letters. For this quick game, make sure that Portal Cubes are turned on as it makes life a little easier for what we're going to do.

Provided you're the controller being prompted to shake the Boggle dome, use the right thumbstick to shake the dome and keep shaking it while you count slowly to 20. Once you reach 20, let go. At the end of this game you'll unlock the achievement for shaking the Boggle dome for 10 seconds. If you weren't the controller prompted to shake the dome either restart the game or skip this and save it for a later game.

As soon as the game starts look to the side of the screen and see which eight-lettered words you're able to pull off. Choose one, spell out the word, and the achievement will pop at the end of the game. If you don't have an eight-lettered word available, try spelling a few other words. Having Portal Cube enabled means that the possible spellings will change each time you spell a word. Remember to keep an eye out on the list. Anyway, once you've spelt an eight-lettered word just let the game time out and you'll get yourself a win and these achievements:

Next you'll want to quit back to the menu and select to play another custom game. This time set the time limit to 8 minutes, turn Portal Cubes off, and again select 'Word Hunt'. Now when the game starts try and work out if you can score 20 three-lettered words. As soon as the game starts just start getting three-lettered words (they won't show up on the list because they're too far down to be see). You can also make use of this site. Set it up so that your 'in game grid' is the same as the one on the site and set both the minimum and maximum word length to three. Click on 'solve' and the site will work out every possible three-lettered word you can make. Spell them in the game and once you've got 20 (you'll know because each three-lettered word is worth one point, so shoot for a score of 20) change the Word Solver settings to a minimum and maximum word length of 6 letters. Then spell out 5 six-lettered words and when you've done that you can set the controller down and let the timer run down. Once the game finishes you'll unlock the following achievements:

Now all you have left is to grind out matches. Keep selecting to play again and when the game starts just spell the first word you see. Once you've completed 5 games you'll unlock this achievement:

And that's it. You've completed Boggle. Congratulations!

Connect 4

Welcome to Connect 4. This is perhaps the easiest of the Family Game Night packs and will only take about one hour to complete. However you will need two controllers in order to complete it in that time frame.

We'll start by getting the only single player achievement in this pack out of the way. Set up a custom match, one round to win the game, turn off max points, and set the timer to two minutes. With this set up, select continue and then play a game of Power Chip. If you're unfamiliar with this game mode, it's Connect 4 but with game modifiers. There are 6 modifiers in total but for the moment we only need to focus on getting and using one of them. One of the Power Chips has the icon of a hand. It's ability prevents your opponent from placing any pieces in the column you play that chip in.

The game starts and you'll flip a Connect 4 piece to see which of you will play first. Keep restarting the match until you go first (which happened more times than not). When the gameplay starts, move all the way to the left column and play your piece there. Play your second piece on top of it and then you need to play a "Hand" Power Chip on top of that. You're hoping to get the "Hand" Power Chip on the 3rd of 4th turn, but this requires a little luck. Once you manage to score, set the controller down and let the time run down. You'll win the round, and the game. Repeat this process 3 more times and you'll unlock the first achievement on our list. If you mess up, the AI manages to score, or you're worried you might lose the game, press start and quit the game. Quitting the game will not cause you to lose your winning streak.

Now you should have unlocked these two achievements:

With the only single player achievement out of the way we'll fly through the remaining achievement. You'll need to back all the way up to the "Press Start" screen. Once there press start to enter again, but this time sign in a second controller... The next few achievements will be a lot easier!

We're going to go for two achievements at the same time. Set up a custom "Original" game with one round wins. Once the game starts you might need to fiddle around a bit to have the main account going first. For this achievement we'll playing from left to right. Have your main account drop the chips down the first three columns and the second controller will drop its chips on top of the ones you just played. After placing chips in the first three columns, skip a column. Next, place your chips in the last three remaining columns, with player 2 still dropping its pieces on top of yours. Last, drop a chip in the middle column and you'll win with a Connect 7. This win will unlock at least two achievements.

Next, choose play again so your main profile is going first. In this game we'll be going for the time related achievements, if you haven't already won them. Aim for your account to make a Connect 4. Just start by dropping a chip into the middle and having player 2 drop its chip on top of yours. Move one column to the left or right and continue until you have a Connect 4. Using this method you can win a game in about 15 seconds and you'll unlock both timed achievements.

Last achievement now. Set up a custom Power Chip game with no score limit and a time limit of 8 minutes. Keep playing until you've played each of the 5 power chips. They are:

  • "2X" - This chip will result in you getting two times the amount of points you would when making a Connect 4.
  • "Hand" - This chip stops your opponents from dropping a chip in that column for 1 round.
  • "Explosive" - This chip destroys any adjacent pieces.
  • "Newton" - This chip pushes the entire column down by one.
  • "Heavy" - This chip pushes the entire column down completely, leaving only itself.

Once you've played each of these chips at least once, make sure you're in the lead and then just set the controller down and let the time run down. When the game ends you'll unlock this achievement:

That's it. You're done with this pack. Congratulations!

Connect 4x4

Welcome to Connect 4x4, a modern twist on the classic game. The concept of the game is that 4 players compete to make a Connect 4 in two different dimensions. You can drops "rings" into a column and you can also drop "chips" into a column. Doing so you can Connect 4 by placing, for example; Chip, Chip, Ring, Chip, as long as each of them touches either vertically, horizontally or diagonally. This game is fairly easy and requires little skill, provided you've got access to 4 controllers.

You're probably looking at spending up to two hours on this game, which is a little longer than the other game packs. It's still is an easy and quick game to complete. With that, let's crack on!

We're going to set up a custom single player game of Original. For this achievement the goal is to just win a game against three AI opponents. There's not much I can help you with here in the way of tips but as far as any version of Connect 4 goes, try and set up your board so you have two ways of winning at any one time... Once you've won the match you'll unlock the following:

Next we're going to back all the way out to the "press start" menu. Load back into the game, this time bring three extra players with you and hook up your controllers! Time to nail the rest of the achievements!

Start by making a custom original mode game with one round wins. It is helpful to set the controllers up in order of their turns as it'll make it a little less confusing. When the game starts drop pieces into columns quickly, but still carefully, trying to make a Connect 4 for your main profile in less than 44 seconds. If your account gets to take their turns first it'll make life a little easier but it isn't essential. Make sure that when you drop your final piece to Connect 4 that you press the "Y" button so that you drop a blocker. Doing so will unlock the following two achievements:

Once you've got those achievements out of the way, head back out and make a custom Remix game. The goal in this game is to not only win but to use each of the power ups. All you need to do is make sure that your chip or ring is the first to fall into the power ups position. The only exception is the alien spaceship powerup, as it activates for the first piece dropped into that column.

After winning the match you'll unlock the following two achievements:

Now there's only a little bit of grinding left... as per usual in these game packs! Back out and start up a custom Original game with one round wins. Once the game is up and running, we'll be working toward the last two achievements at the same time. Place your extra profile pieces horizontally, either from left to right or vice versa. You want to place your main account's pieces vertically, making a Connect 4, while also blocking your opponent's Connect 4. Continue doing this until you unlock the achievement for doing it 15 times.

Jenga

Welcome to Jenga! This is pretty easy and you shouldn't have any trouble completing this game pack. You'll be looking at spending one to two hours to complete this pack and you'll need two controllers.

First we'll start up a single player game in the Original game mode. As soon as the game starts remove the first highlighted piece and you'll unlock your first achievement:

3 guidesOffline Game ModeSingle PlayerVersusTime/Date

We're going to continue playing single player for a little while to get another achievement. Move toward the bottom of the tower, about 3 or 4 blocks from the bottom. Adjust the camera angle until you can see Mr. Potato Head. Now select the Jenga block on the furthest side from him (remember to be about 3 or 4 blocks up) and then drag that block toward Mr. Potato Head. If you're doing it correctly the entire tower (your level and upward) will begin to move in that direction. If you're having trouble with it, try dragging the block toward Mr. Potato Head diagonally and alternate the diagonal direction toward him. Keep an eye out on the block closest to him (on your level) because we don't want that to fall before the entire tower falls. We want the tower to fall straight at Mr. Potato Head and he'll have to jump out of the way to save himself.

This sounds a lot longer than it actually is, but once you've got the method down it won't take long. Repeat this until you've made Mr. Potato Head jump out of the way a total of 10 times to unlock the next achievement:

Plummeting Potato

Cause Mr Potato Head to jump to dodge the Jenga tower 10 times

Next we are going to play another single player game of Original. Head about half-way down the tower and select a block. Before you pull the block out make the tower a little messed up. In fact you need to make "Tower Wobble" comes up on the screen when you pull the block out. Once you've pulled the block out, move it all the way to the side and let it drop right off. For whatever reason, despite clearly not having met the requirement amount of points, the achievement will still unlock. That will unlock this achievement:

Back out and set up a single player game of Remix mode. This will be a little boring and tedious but keep restarting the game until you start off with a Bomb card. When you do draw a Bomb card just select the flashing blocks and try to remove them as fast as possible. On the next round make the tower topple and repeat the process. Once you've removed a total of 20 Bomb blocks you'll unlock the next achievement:

2 guidesOffline Game ModeSingle PlayerVersusCumulative +

Again, back out to the main menu and set up a two player game on Original mode. The main goal here isto play a two player game which lasts at least 20 move. You are going to want to do this by removing only the middle blocks. You need to be mindful of the tower's lean. If you keep pulling from the same row, on the same side eventually the tower will start to lean and could fall over. What I found most effective was to work your way round the tower in a circle, so pull out a block from the first side, move the camera 90 degrees, then pull out a block from this side (repeat the process until done).

Remember to pull the pieces out carefully. Too fast and you'll mess up the tower and risk not get the achievement. It might take a couple of attempts but keep at it and you'll get it. Once you place your 20th piece on top the tower this achievement will unlock:

Block Battle

All that's left is to grind out multiplayer wins. Keep playing games with Player 2 losing. It's important that Player 1 places at least 1 piece on top the tower before Player 2 causes Jenga, otherwise the game will count as a draw.

Pictureka

Welcome to Pictureka! This game pack can go either way; some people have a little hassle with it, while others manage to fly through the entire pack. You can estimate to spend about a hour on this and you'll need two controllers. In addition you can make this pack a lot easier if you use a camera. As the round begins, snap a photo, pause the game, and locate whatever is needed to progress. Unpause the game and select it whatever you needed to find and, hopefully, unlock the time based achievements.

For our first game start up a two player Original game mode. It's impossible for me to know what you've been tasked to find so this info will probably sound vague. If you don't unlock all of these achievements in your first game, don't worry. You need to win a fair few games of Pictureka so you can mop up anything you missed later.

When the die lands on red you play a little minigame in which both players must press "A" on their desired number. The player with the higher number wins. When this minigame comes up have Player 2 select a low number and then have Player 1 select a number higher than that. Don't take too long doing this, since when time runs out the game will select the number currently on screen. Lastly, you don't need to win the card for the achievement to unlock. You only need to outbid the other player three times in a row. Once you've done that you'll unlock the next achievement:

For the next achievement you need to win one of each type of round in a single game of Pictureka Remix. The card types are: Purple, Orange, Yellow, Blue and Green. When you go for this achievement make sure that you've enabled "Sounds Like" in the settings or the Purple game type won't come up. Also set the winning amount of cards to over 5, so that, if you make a mistake and win a duplicate card, you can still get the achievement.

The easiest way is to win card types you need and whenever a card type comes up that you already have just sit idle until the timer runs up. Then no-one wins that round and no-one is awarded the card. Continue doing this until you've won one of each card type to unlock the achievement.

And that's it. You've completed this game pack! Congratulations!

Scrabble

Welcome to Scrabble, the most hated game pack of the Family Game Night series because if you live outside of North America, or don't own a NTSC console, chances are you'll never be able to play this pack. Anyway, let's not get hung up on that fact and focus on you, because if you're reading this page it's safe to assume that you can play this pack and want to know the best way to go about the achievements!

Now Scrabble is the longest game pack and will take you at least 2-3 hours. You'll also need two controllers and access to Xbox LIVE. Finally, remember to make use of this site when playing to help you find words you can spell.

So first off set up a custom single player game and turn on "hot letters". The goal of the game is to pick up a win and a few achievements along the way. Use the analog stick to shake the bag until it's on fire every turn. Once the bag is on fire quickly press to deal out the letters and some of the letters should be on fire. Now spell a word with at least one "on fire" letter. Obviously the shorter the word the quicker you'll complete the word and ensure the flaming tile doesn't go out. Once you spelt a total of 5 'on fire' words hit "Y" and end the game. This will unlock the following two achievements:

Word Win!

Win one game of Scrabble. (Scrabble is only available in North America & English).

Head back out and set up a new game. This time set up a two player game of Bridge Builders. The rules of this game are very basic. Unlike regular Scrabble, where you can build on any laid tiles by any player, in this mode you can only build off tiles that you laid. Since you are in control of both players, it makes this achievement very easy. Start on one side of the board (say the left) and each turn either place tiles vertically or horizontally off your previous word until you reach the other side of the board. Once you've done so, finish the game and you'll unlock thid achievement:

Bridge the gap

Reach the other side of the board in bridge builders. (Scrabble is only available in NA & English).

Next, set up a single player game. We'll be snagging two achievements in this game. Head on over to this site and make use of it. When you're dealt your letters put them into the site and see if you can spell a word using ALL of your letters. If you can, lay the tiles vertically and you're done. If you can't make a word keep discarding tiles and drawing new ones until you can. Eventually you'll draw one that works. Once you've laid the tiles (make sure you placed them vertically), finish the game up and you'll unlock two achievements:

A column of 7

Place 5+ tiles in one go to create a vertical 7 letter word. Only available in NA & English.

There's a great method to getting this next achievement. Once you've been dealt your tiles check and see if you have the letters 'E', 'R' and 'S'. If you do, lay them down, starting from the middle spot (to ensure you have enough room). If you don't have those tiles, keep discarding tiles until you do. Now once you've placed your 'E', 'R', and 'S' make use of this site once more, put in all of the letters you currently have and the letters 'E', 'R' and 'S'. You need to spell a 9 lettered word in total. If you managed to draw a blank tile that will come in very handy. If you're unable to place enough tiles to unlock this achievement then spell a word off the letters already played. Be sure though that if you placed the 'E', 'R', and 'S' vertically, play off them horizontally (and vice versa) so to not mess up your method. Once you've laid 6 letters onto the letters 'E', 'R' and 'S' you'll unlock this achievement:

Lengthy Word

Place 5+ tiles in one go to create a 9 letter word. Scrabble is only available in NA & English.

You might have unlocked the next achievement by now. If not just start up a single player game and press "Y" to finish it. Repeating this step for the below achievement.

Chances are by now that you've unlocked this next achievement. If not just set up a single player game and leave it idle until you feel an appropriate amount of time has passed, then hit "Y" to end the game and see if the achievement pops. If it doesn't unlock keep repeating this step until it does.

Here we go... the online achievement. The online mode to this game is very dead, so you'll need to head over to the gaming sessions page and find yourself a boosting partner. The good news is that neither of you need to win, you just need to play the match until its conclusion and once the game finishes you'll both unlock the last achievement:

Sorry!

Welcome to Sorry! This is one of the more long winded packs. It's still easy... just longer and more boring. You're probably looking to spend at least two hours on this game and you'll need a total of 4 controllers. A few of these achievements are gained by fulfilling certain actions within a single game. This can get a little confusing. Grab yourself a sheet of paper and a pen and keep track of your progress while playing. Let's crack on!

Most of the achievements from this game pack will be unlocked in the first game. Start up a 4-player game of Bonus Cards. You are going to need to keep a record of which pawns you send back to the start (with the aim being to send back 2 pawns from each team). I won't go into a whole load of detail since most are really straight forward but I'll outline all of the achievements you should aim to unlock in this game.

With your 4-player game of Bonus Cards loaded up, you'll want to play until both your account and one of your dummy accounts each have a "Sorry!" card. This card takes the player using it from their starting zone to wherever the opponent’s pawn is and moves the opponent’s pawn back to its own starting zone. Use the "Sorry!" card of your dummy account on one of your pawns. On your next turn, seek revenge and use it on any pawn of that same opponent. This will unlock these 2 achievements:

My Apologies

Move one pawn of an opposing team back to the start zone

Red Vengeance

Looking at the board you'll notice a couple of long yellow arrows. For the next achievement you'll need to have an opponent’s pawn somewhere on that arrow (but not the first square). Once the opponent’s pawn is on the yellow arrow, you need to land one of your pawns on the starting square of that arrow. Doing this will cause your pawn to move ahead to the end of the arrow and any pawns it hits along the way will be sent back to the starting zone!

The Yellow Dart

Use a Sorry! yellow slide to send a pawn back to start

Continue playing through the game making note of which cards you've used. For this achievement you'll want to use all the cards! The cards you'll need to use are: Wipeout, Freedom, All Change, Sideswipe and Steal.

Now we're going to set up a game of Original. The goal of this game is to get your pawns to the safe zone as quickly as possible while avoiding sending any opponent pawns back to the start. It's possible to unlock the achievement provided you don't send a pawn back from each team. For example, if you send a pawn back to the start from both the yellow and blue teams and do not send a pawn back from the green team, you could still unlock the achievement. However it's easy enough to complete a game without sending a single pawn back to the start, and then you don't have to keep track. This will unlock this achievement:

Fragile Alliance

Finish Sorry! without sending any of one teams pawns back to the start

Back out, log out two of the profiles, and set up a two player game of Bonus Cards. Make sure to turn the AI off before you begin. The aim here is to win a game within 10 minutes. It's not too hard and by now you should have a good idea of how the game works. Here are few tips: Make good use of your Sorry! cards, Always get your pawns out of the start zone as quickly as possible, Swipe cards are great for moving you along an entire side of a board in one move, and make good use of the "7" card when on the safe zone stretch as it can be split between pawns.

If you don't win the game in under 10 minutes the first time, just keep trying. You'll need to win a couple more for the last achievement anyways.

That's it. You've completed this game pack. Congratulations!

Sorry! Sliders

Welcome to Sorry! Sliders. This is a relatively easy game pack to complete. You should be looking to spend 1-2 hours on this and you'll need at least two controllers to complete it within that time frame.

We'll start by setting up a two player game, make sure to turn the AI off, and turn "instant home" on. If you're unfamiliar with the game play a couple of rounds to get familiar with the game and then restart the match. We're gonna aim to win a game within 5 minutes. On your turn try and aim for the "instant home" area. If you don't land on it then don't worry, just try to get as many as possible. When it comes around to Player 2's turn just move the pawns to the left and very, very gently push up on the thumbstick so that they don't even reach the board. In fact, you'll be doing this every time it's not your turn in every game you play. Lastly, try not to send any of your pawns off the board as this will cost you valuable time and void one of the achievements for that game.

Assuming you do manage this in your first game you'll unlock the following achievements:

Next we're going to set up another two player game. Again be sure to turn off the AI but this time turn on Battle Boxes. Now remember how we played Player 2's turns last game? We're doing exactly the same but this time round Player 1 will be the player not reaching the board and Player 2 will be winning. This way will ensure Player 1 never picks up a single battle box and you'll unlock the following achievement:

I Don't Need Help

Finish one game with Battleboxes turned on but do not collect a single one

I Don't Need Help
1 guideOffline Game ModeSingle PlayerVersus

Now click to rematch and switch back to how you were playing before (Player 1 winning, Player 2 not reaching the board). Try and play as conservatively as possible. In fact we want this game to last a long time, you you may need to then slide Player 2's pawns into Player 1's to knock them out of the middle. For this achievement we need to pick up and use all of the battle boxes at least once during this game. Here's a list of the power-ups:

  • Power Shot - Lightning shoots out from your pawn and pushes your opponent pawns away from you upon contact.
  • Super Accuracy - Causes your pawn to home in on the middle of the board.
  • Heavy Pawn - Makes your pawn incredibly heavy and next to impossible for an opponent to knock out of the way.
  • Ghost - Allows you to slide through opponent pawns and also prevents opponent pawns from knocking you out of the way.
  • Ice Pawn - Makes the path you shoot the pawn in incredibly slippery and will cause it to travel faster. The iced pathway will vanish at the end of your turn.
  • Tiny Pawn - Makes your pawn miniature for this turn, which makes it faster and allows it to get in between possibly blocked paths.
  • Aftershock - Once the pawn reaches its destination it sends out a shockwave which will knock any pawns within proximity back a little.
  • Shield - Gives your pawn a shield so that once it reached its destination it's near impossible to knock out of the way.

Keep a checklist while you're going for this achievement and cross the battle boxes off as you use them. Once you're sure you've used all of them at least once go ahead and finish the game to unlock this achievement:

For the next game, head back out and set up another two player game with "Instant Sorry!" turned on. During this game try to avoid the middle. Play it slow and aim for the outer ring and progress to winning slowly. Finish the game without falling into the Instant Sorry! pit once and at the end of the game you'll unlock the next achievement:

This achievement is straight forward enough. During this game keep knocking Player 2 pawns off the board so that you've knocked at least 4 of his pawns out by the end of the game. Once you've fulfilled the requirements go ahead and finish the match.

Some people have reportedly had trouble unlocking this achievement. If, for whatever reason, you finish the game and the achievement doesn't unlock, try playing it again but with 4 controllers (or AI enabled). Even with AI enabled this achievement is very easy.

Yahtzee

Welcome to Yahtzee! A game which at first might look like it will a pain to complete, because of the luck based achievements, but is honestly very simple. You should be looking to spend at least one hour (up to two) on this game and you'll need two controllers to complete it.

Before we begin, for those who have never played Yahtzee before, here's a quick breakdown of the terminology used in the game:

  • Yahtzee: A "Yahtzee" is when a player has five of a kind. For example: 6, 6, 6, 6, 6.
  • Straight: There are two different "Straight" in Yahtzee; A large straight and a small straight. The difference between the two is that a large straight requires 5 consecutive numbers while a small only requires 4. For example: 1, 2, 3, 4 (small straight) or 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (large straight).
  • Full House: A "Full House" is when a player has both three of a kind and two of a kind. For example; 1, 1, 1, 2, 2.

Let's begin! We'll start by setting up a custom game of Original and turn on Wild Dice. Wild Dice will randomly appear in the game, taking place of the regular die and will allow you to change the value of the die. As you can imagine, this is very handy. Keep restarting until Player 1 is the starting player. Make sure you follow the on screen instructions to manually shake the dice and keep shaking them for a count to 20. Once you reach a count of 20 you can stop shaking the dice and the first achievement will be ready to unlock upon finishing the game.

Once you finish the game, if you still need any of the achievements listed here, back out and drop out player 2. You'll want to reset up the same game but only with one player. I won't explain what's needed for each of the achievements as they are pretty obvious to figure out. Ignore the order they're in and go for them as you see fit.
