Resident Evil Revelations 2 (Xbox 360)

Overview

Revelations 2 has the mostly usual mechanics of a Resident Evil game: S Ranks, The Mercenaries (called Raid Mode in this title), alternate endings and tons of collectibles.

Thankfully, none of these are necessary for completing all achievements. Instead, we get several objectives, which can be considered harder than getting any of the above items, depending on the person. Achievements are mostly earned by earning medals (little tasks in each episode) and replaying every episode in two extra gameplay modes. Sounds easy enough, but when I touched Episode 2 for a few minutes on Invisible Mode I was ready to call it quits with the knowledge that I wouldn't be able to complete this game. But you can complete it with perseverance and a good memory! (A good memory can be replaced with watching a YouTube video)

At minimum, for each episode you will need to do:

  • 1 regular playthrough
  • 1 Countdown Mode playthrough
  • 1 Invisible Mode playthrough

You may also need to do multiple playthroughs to collect all of the medals for each episode, as some require mutually exclusive tasks to be completed.

For the purposes of this guide, I will follow an episode-by-episode approach to what I feel is the most logical progression through the achievement list. Please note that after you unlock the alternate modes you may complete them (and your medals/clean-up) in any order.

You unlock the alternate modes by playing through the episode once and then purchasing each mode from the Extras -> Rewards menu for BP.

Special thanks go to Alice2183 / dormouse03, the original author of this guide and the author of the YouTube videos used in this walkthrough.

The first thing you might notice is that this is a partner-based game, and you will be switching between partners throughout the campaign. In the Claire-Moira campaign, Claire is your fighter, and Moira can use her flashlight to stun enemies, find resources (shiny objects), and use the crowbar acquired in Episode One to perform melee attacks. In the Barry-Natalia campaign, Barry uses weapons, and Natalia can see enemies through walls (and when they are invisible), can see enemy weak spots, and can crawl into small holes between walls. There are also special crates and chests in each level that only Moira or Natalia can open. At certain points you will need to do partner actions (boosts, open doors, pull levers, etc.).

One useful tip that they don't tell you until later episodes is that you can tell your partner to wait or follow (hold down cn_Y and hit cn_up to tell your partner to follow or cn_down to tell them to wait), which can be helpful if you need them to stay in one spot or get out of your way/stop stealing your kills/stop doing things that could mess up an achievement.

This tip of telling your partner to wait is incredibly useful in Invisible Mode/harder difficulties. Moira and Natalia's health regenerates, while Barry and Claire's don't. This means you can leave your main partner behind in area full of monsters (as long as they haven't noticed them yet) and run to the exit to the next area with the support character. Before leaving an area in this manner, you have to tell your partner to follow you again or the game won't let you leave without them.

Purchase the ability to do follow-up attacks (called "Follow-Up") as early as possible as this is required for several medals. Also, purchase the abilities Laying Bricks and Batter Up to increase the power of the brick and the crowbar to make brick hits and crowbar kills easier.

Items you get in a main campaign carry over to the next episode you play, including replaying episodes out of order. This means that if you have some explosive bottles you didn't use in an episode and a medal in another episode wants you to kill enemies with sub-weapons, the bottles will be available while playing said episode. However, items don't carry over in the Countdown and Invisible modes, so feel free to use everything you have.

A small tip for Invisible and Countdown modes is that, while running towards a door, leaving the cn_A button pushed will open the door automatically, which is useful if a chasing enemy is close to you and about to attack. If the door needs a key, leaving the button pushed won't work.

Important: Don't buy the ability "Unholstered" until after you complete all medals. If you buy it before and you have a medal to do with Natalia or Moira, AI Claire/Barry can mess it up by shooting at your enemy. Some people have also said that the AI shooting voids the achievement of the knife-only run of Episode 1, but this can be avoided by defeating all the enemies in an area before switching to your support partner.

Episode One:

Start your game on Casual. There is only 1 difficulty based achievement in the game that can be done very quick and doesn't warrant another whole playthrough. Casual lets you earn all the medals without much frustration. Medals don't all need to be earned in one playthrough, and once you earn one you can forget about it on another playthrough.

Unlike other Resident Evil games, you do not need to achieve an S rank on any of the levels, so do not worry about your time or rank on each level. There are a couple of medals for doing certain levels or parts of levels under a certain time limit, so I will make a note of these as we go.

The locations of collectibles like the Kafka drawings and Tower Emblems (with the exception of those related to a particular medal in Episode 4) won't be listed because they are not necessary for the achievements.

Also, while you can play this game cooperatively using local split-screen, I will be writing this guide under the assumption that you are playing the single-player campaign.

This walkthrough will be as detailed as possible telling you about medals and obtaining items. But if you just need the main directions, check the Countdown Mode section of the page for an abbreviated walkthrough.

Watch the video while playing if you need more details on where to get a certain medal.

Claire

Medals:

1:35 Knock down enemies 5 times by blinding them with the light, then hitting them with a physical attack.
4:28, 6:29 Defeated 8 enemies with the rotating blades (you can crouch under the blades in the fire bust area to make this easier)
8:30 Stunned 10 enemies with Moira's light
5:00 Defeated 8 enemies with sub-weapons
4:08 Defeated 3 enemies using the stealth attack
8:30 Defeated 8 enemies with a headshot
2:30 Found 3 treasures
5:00 Killed 10 Giant Whip Spiders
2:57, 3:50, 11:45 Opened 3 military boxes
2:10 Found 6 hidden items with Moira

Exit your cell and head right, moving forward while the game takes you through some basic controls (cn_RS to move camera, cn_LS + cn_A to run). As you move ahead, you'll find Moira in a cell on the left. Move toward her, and press cn_A to release her from confinement. After the cutscene, you will be able to move forward through the opened door. Keep going straight ahead, and press cn_A to open the door at the end of the corridor. Move around to the left, and press cn_A to jump across the gap when prompted. Press cn_A to climb the ladder, and shimmy across the ledge. Drop down to the walkway below you, and turn left at the barrel. Turn left up some stairs, and then take a right. Move past the door with blood on it, and enter the room on the right, where you will find the Knife on the table. You will need to get 100 kills with the knife for:

Knifin' Around

Defeat 100 enemies with the knife in the main campaign.

Knifin' Around
2 guidesOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

Some tips with the knife that will be useful later: pressing cn_RT performs a basic knife attack. Holding cn_RT continuously slashes, which is useful when you do not want to do any special follow-up attacks (necessary for the Cutting Edge achievement). There's no need to grind for this achievement, as you will unlock this easily while you progress and try to save ammo in some places.

After picking up your trusty blade, you can head out of this room and enter the door that we passed with blood in front of it. You'll need to press cn_RT to break the glass and press cn_A to vault over into the next room. There will be an item (I believe it is always handgun ammo) in the drawer to the right. Now you can exit this room through the door on the right and move left down the hallway. Turn left to head through another door.

Moving forward, you will need to press cn_A to move the shelf for Moira, then click cn_LS to crouch and move under the shelf yourself. Push the next shelf forward with cn_LSu until an Afflicted attacks you. Slash it a few times with your knife until Claire finishes it off. Then continue to push the shelf forward until you can move past it. Continue forward and through the room where an Afflicted runs away from you. In the next room, there will be a green herb in the locker on the right and just as you leave there will be another green herb.

Move forward through some rooms, and click cn_LS again to crouch under an obstacle. Then continue on to the door that looks like a garage door (I'll be calling these garage doors from here on even though there are no actual garages), and press cn_A to open it. Note that when you go through these doors, the game will automatically save, and you cannot backtrack. This isn't important here, but be aware of it as you progress through the game.

Gina will appear and grab you. You can't avoid the grab, so just walk into her as soon as you see her. You cannot open the door to the right because you need the key that we are going to pick up.

Head down some stairs, and just before you reach the door, you will see a body hanging to your left. Press cn_A to grab the keys. Just kidding! The body falls, and now we have to go down to retrieve them.

Go through the door in front of you and keep moving forward. You can't get into any of these cells yet, so just keep going until you go through a set of double doors. There are two desks in the corners of this room that will have gems in them (collecting these counts toward your 3 treasures for a medal). Move forward through the door ahead and down the ladder in front of you. Press cn_A to interact with the body on the ground and pick up the Handgun MPM. Press cn_Y to switch to Moira and use cn_LT to point your flashlight on the keys hanging on the middle tank above the body. Switch back to Claire and shoot them down.

Once you pick up the keys and move back toward the ladder, there will be a few Afflicted that attack you. This is the first opportunity for an achievement and progress toward some medals.

The first achievement you can get requires you to stun an enemy by pointing Moira's flashlight at it until it staggers, switch to Claire, and hit cn_RT when prompted to follow up with a physical attack (it will be a roundhouse kick, any other move is not the one you want). Note that I was able to do this without purchasing any skills. There is a skill called Follow-Up that says "Claire and Barry become able to perform a follow-up." This unlocks the ability to perform different kinds of follow-ups, like ground finishes or stunning them with body shots and then performing follow-ups. The standard physical attack is available from the beginning without purchasing this skill. Even though this achievement's wording makes it sound like it is asking you to do a follow-up attack, it is not. It is asking you to do a physical attack after stunning the enemy with the flashlight. This nets you:

Now That's Teamwork!

Have Moira stun an enemy and Claire follow up with a physical attack in the main campaign.

Now That's Teamwork!
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost Only

Now be sure to do this 4 more times on the next few enemies for one of the medals on this chapter. You will also earn a medal for stunning 10 enemies with Moira's flashlight and an achievement when you stun 50 enemies:

Flashlight Duty

Use Moira's light to stun 50 enemies in the main campaign.

Flashlight Duty
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

So be sure to keep using this mechanic throughout the level. Also, you will need to kill 100 of these enemies (called Afflicted) to unlock:

Cure for the Afflicted

Defeat 100 Afflicted in the main campaign.

Cure for the Afflicted
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

They are the main enemy in the campaign, so this should come with natural progression without any grinding necessary. It appears that the enemies in Barry's campaign called Rotten count for this achievement as well, which makes sense because they are more aged versions of the Afflicted.

Another achievement that you can work on now is the Friend Indeed achievement to save your captured partner 10 times. As Moira, allow yourself to be grabbed by an enemy, then switch to Claire and shoot or stab the enemy so that he lets Moira go. I advise you to use Moira as the one getting grabbed for this because Moira can regenerate health whereas Claire will need to use healing items. So if you are going to do this on purpose for the achievement, use Moira as your bait. You will probably do this through natural progression, but if you want to quickly grind it out now, you can repeat this process 10 times to unlock:

Friend Indeed

Save your captured partner ten times in the main campaign.

Friend Indeed
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

In the room by the ladder where the Afflicted emerged, you will find some handgun ammo. Now go up the ladder and back the way you came. After the room with the medical equipment, you will see that the door to the right is now open. Go through there, and grab the handgun ammo and green herb on the counter. An Afflicted will come around to attack you in here, so take him out. Move forward out of the room, and two more Afflicted will attack you from the cells as you move forward and to the right. Check the fourth cell on the left for a green herb.

Go through the door and up the stairs, and use your shiny new key to unlock the door on the left. Just around the corner is the Shotgun M147S. Pick this up, but don't use it for now. By this point, you should have gotten your stun/physical attack combos, and you can focus on getting 8 headshot kills for another medal. This is more easily and efficiently done with the handgun.

Use your knife to break through the box and into the next room. This introduces you to using Moira's flashlight to find hidden objects. Use cn_LT to focus the light on flashing spots until you hear a "ding!" Then you can pick up the items. There are 3 items on the shelves in the right corner: two random goodies (ammo, items, or gems) and the Crowbar, which Moira can pick up. You will need to find 6 hidden items with Moira throughout the level for a medal, so keep that in mind.

You can also use the crowbar to perform melee attacks (cn_RT). You will need to kill 50 enemies with the crowbar for:

I Can Do Blunt Weapons

Use Moira's crowbar to defeat 50 enemies in the main campaign.

I Can Do Blunt Weapons
3 guidesOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

There are also two breakable boxes with goodies in the left corner. Once you have looted the room, you can interact with the door on the left, and Moira will use the crowbar to remove the board blocking your exit.

Continue forward, and there will be 3 hidden objects in the room with the garage door - one to the right of the door you enter, one straight in front of you, and one slightly to the left between the stack of boxes. Use Moira's flashlight to reveal these, and pick them up. There is also a breakable crate to the left of the garage door. When you are ready, move through the door to the next section.

Go upstairs and trigger the next cutscene. After the dialogue finishes, you can turn around to loot a crate in the back left corner (door with green light), and then turn back around to find the other open door on your left. Inside this cell is a gem that you can shoot down from the ceiling.

Moving forward into the next room, you will find the Detention Center Map on the desk to the left, which will give you a mini map in the top right corner of your HUD. Ahead of you is a door that is missing a Gear Kog (yep, they spell it that way), so we will need to find that.

Turn right, and reveal another hidden item behind a ladder straight ahead of you. Now go through the door to the right. There is a breakable crate at the end of this hallway. Turn around from the crate, and go through the door that is now on your right. You'll notice the Gear Kog stuck in the spike machine in this room, but you can't get to it yet. We need to turn on the power.

Moira's flashlight will reveal a hidden object in the left corner when you enter this room. There is a broken ladder in this room, and you need to hoist Moira up (cn_A). As Moira, there will be a Military Box to the right through the doorway. Press cn_A and then follow the instructions for this little mini-game/puzzle. You need to move the dot with cn_LS until it turns orange, then slowly pull cn_LT or cn_RT so that the dot becomes smaller. You want to make sure that the dot stays orange until it finds the "lock" to click in place. If it turns red, let go of the trigger and move the dot slightly to try another spot. The longer it stays orange, the closer you are to the right location. You will need to do this twice to unlock this box. There will be a Handgun Ammo Case in this box. Note that this is the first of three military boxes that you need to find on this level for a medal.

Now, turn around and move forward and to the left. You will be able to unlock a door to your left here so that Claire can progress.

Switch to Claire and pick up the tourniquet on the shelf to your left. On the shelf to your right is a Parts Box and a workbench. You can use the workbench to put upgrades into your weapons. Upgrades come from parts boxes like the one you just found. This one should be Damage Lv. 1. You can go ahead and put this into your handgun. Select the gun you want to upgrade, then select the part you want to add. For future reference, all parts aren't used in all weapons, but the icons on the bottom left of your screen when you highlight a part indicate which weapons it can be used with. After you upgrade your gun, switch to Moira and head right and through the door to the next area.

Go through the door in front of you, and break the crate around the bars to your left. As you move down the hallway, an Afflicted with red pus on his head will attack you from the right. If you kill this type of enemy with a headshot, note that it leaves red pus on the floor. You can focus Moira's flashlight on this to dissolve it, making sure that it does not turn into an exploding Cyst that Barry will have to deal with in his episode.

There is a hidden item in the second room on the right. Head through the next door, and two Afflicted (one regular, one pus-head) will attack you from the right. Remember that you need 8 headshot kills in this level for a medal as you move through these next areas. There is a hidden item on a shelf in the room where the Afflicted came from, and there is a tourniquet on a small shelf right outside of that room.

As you move forward and to the right, an Afflicted will jump through the window. This is an opportunity to make progress toward one of the more irritating achievements, Unfriendly Skies, where you need to shoot down 30 Afflicted in mid-jump. Switch to the shotgun, and kill this guy as soon as he jumps in through the window. If you kill him fast enough (it took two shots for me with no upgrades in the base shotgun, but that was still fast enough), it should count for the achievement, even if he touches the ground. You can keep reloading the checkpoint if you want to grind this out here. 30 of these kills will net you:

Unfriendly Skies

Shoot down 30 Afflicted in mid-jump in the main campaign.

Unfriendly Skies
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

You will find another hidden object straight ahead by some rubble and one to the left of the rubble. Go through the door on the right, and there will be a hidden object to your right as well as an Exploding Bottle on a shelf to your right. This is a "sub-weapon," which you will use for another medal in this episode. You need to defeat 8 enemies with sub-weapons, so keep in mind that you need to wait for an opportunity to take out multiple enemies with one bottle. There will be an excellent spot coming up, so hold on to this.

In the back corner of this room, opposite the exit door, you will find the second Military Crate. Use Moira to unlock it just like you did on the first one, but this one is easier with only one lock. There should be another Parts Box inside. Head out the exit door and down the stairs to the right.

As you go downstairs, click the cn_RS to turn off Moira's flashlight, then switch to Claire and press cn_LS to crouch. We are going to stealth kill the next 3 enemies for another medal. Sneak forward while crouched into the next room and move behind the Ironhead. Pull cn_RT when you get the prompt to perform a stealth kill. Then move around to the right behind the Afflicted and repeat the process on him. Move to the left to take out the pus-head Afflicted in the same fashion. That's all 3 stealth kills done! These also count toward the 20 stealth kills you need for:

From the Shadows

Defeat 20 enemies with stealth attacks in the main campaign.

From the Shadows

Now you can stand up and move through the door on the left. On a shelf to your right, you will find another Exploding Bottle. In the next room you will find the Rusty Key. You should also go ahead and push the box of random trash out from in front of the door by moving to the right of it and pushing it out of the way with cn_LS.

Backtrack to the room where we performed our stealth kills, and use the Rusty Key to unlock the door on the opposite wall to the right. In this next room, there is an opportunity for two medals as well as an achievement.

Run around the trash compacter area until you have 5+ spiders, and toss the bottle (hold cn_LB to aim and cn_RT to throw the bottle). If it kills at least 5, you will unlock:

Fish in a Barrel

Defeat five enemies with one exploding bottle or one firebomb bottle in the main campaign.

Fish in a Barrel
3 guidesOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost Only

If you didn't get it, reload your checkpoint to try again. You can also get the medal for killing 8 enemies with sub-weapons here as well as killing 10 giant whip spiders. There is also a hidden item in one of the corners in the trash compactor.

When you are done exterminating spiders, boost Moira up to the opposite side. As Moira, move into the next room and pull the switch to turn on the power. An Afflicted will burst out of a room to your left, and the blades on those busts will start spinning. Run past him towards Claire.

When you get back to Claire, you will automatically switch to her so that you can help her escape the trash compacter. Climb up the moving ledge on the left where there is a gap and then climb up and out of the compacter area. Go back into the room where we performed our stealth kills, and be careful of the rotating blades that are now powered up. Go through the door to the room where we picked up the Rusty Key, and beware that an Ironhead will drop from the ceiling. These guys are tough, so I recommend using the stun/physical attack combo, and shooting him with the shotgun while he is on the ground. Or run past him since you have already moved the box of debris, whatever you'd like to do.

Go through the door, and you will be back in the area where you need to place the Gear Kog. Be careful of the spinning blade traps and the enemies (a pus-head Afflicted and an Ironhead). Try to lure these enemies into the blades for two blade kills. Remember you can stun them to make them stand still or kick them into the blades.

Go through the door on the opposite side and back into the Gear Kog room. You can now use the switch to move the machine and grab the Gear. You can also visit the work bench in this room to equip your new part (Firing Rate Lv. 1). I'd suggest putting this into the handgun as well as this will be your main weapon.

Now you can finally go back and place the Gear Kog to open the gate. When you do this, more Afflicted will spawn, so be warned. There will be a short cutscene showing the Afflicted being released from their cells. When you proceed into the next room, there is a bust in the middle and a crank on the right. Do NOT turn the crank. It activates the fire bust. Leave it alone, and use these enemies to get the kills that you need for your medals (10 headshots, 8 enemies killed by blades, 10 stuns, and/or 5 stun/physical attack combos). There are 2 Ironheads and 4 Afflicted that spawn. A good tip is to crouch underneath the rotating blades in the corner of the fire bust room. This will lure the enemies into it while you remain safe.

You can loot the now-open cells for a few more items (hidden items in the second cell on the right, the sixth cell on the right, and third cell on the left). There is also a green herb in the fire bust room.

Switch to Moira to use her crowbar to open the door in the back of the room. You should switch back to Claire as she works on the door to protect her because some enemies will continue to spawn (may vary by difficulty, but there are two Afflicted that keep respawning on Casual and Normal). You can use these enemies to get any of the last kills you may need. Then go through the door without activating the fire bust, and you will unlock:

Who Needs Fire?

Escape from the detention center in Claire's Episode One without using the flame-thrower bust.

Who Needs Fire?
3 guidesOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost Only

Move forward for another bit of dialogue, and pick up the green herb in the field in front of you. Continue along the path and open the gate. To the left just before the bridge, you will find your last Military Crate. Use Moira to open it as before, and grab another Parts Box. Now head across the bridge, pressing cn_A when prompted.

Head into the door, and you may use the work bench to add your latest part (Quick Load Lv. 1) to your weapon of choice (as usual, I'll go with the handgun). There will be one final crate to the right of the broadcasting equipment. Press cn_A at the broadcasting equipment to end Claire's part of this Episode.

--

You can now use the BP you collected to unlock skills in the Skill Settings menu. I would suggest unlocking the first level of Crouch Power, Dashing Knife, and Follow Up so that you can do follow-up attacks for a medal in Barry's episode and to work toward your 50 kills with follow-up attacks for:

And STAY Down

Perform 50 follow-ups in the main campaign.

And STAY Down
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

Most of the other skills are useful, but I would recommend unlocking skills like Batter Up, Light is Might, Crowbar Finisher, Laying Bricks, Sixth Sense, and Brick Finisher to do more damage with Moira and Natalia and to gain BP from kills with those characters. This will help you when going for crowbar and brick kills as well as flashlight stuns. Hurler will increase the power of your sub-weapons, which is helpful when trying to get sub-weapon kills for medals. Evade, Evade Extension, and Evade Recovery are all useful skills when going through Countdown Mode because they will increase your speed when dodging past enemies. Quick Knife and Hair Splitter could be useful when going for the knife-only run for Cutting Edge.

I would steer clear of the Unholstered skill until after you do the Cutting Edge achievement. Some have reported that they have gotten the achievement after purchasing this skill, but others have had difficulty. You may run in to trouble if you switch back to a character who is firing their weapon as you switch. My advice is to play it safe and wait to purchase this one after you have the achievement in hand. Other than that, any of the skills are fair game.

Another thing to note is that all of the BP you have been earning (through completing levels, achievements, medals, and challenges as well as picking up gems) counts toward the cumulative 50,000 total BP you need to earn for the achievement:

Bounty Hunter

Get a total of 50,000 BP.

Bounty Hunter
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

Note that you do not need to save up 50,000 at once, just earn that much over the course of the game. So feel free to spend your points as you earn them. You will need to save 2000 BP to purchase Countdown and Invisible Mode after you finish Barry's episode, so make sure to save some after you finish the next part.

Barry

One thing to know about Barry's episodes is that they take place after Claire's and can be affected by some of the things you do during Claire's episode. An example in this episode is the fire bust section. If you leave the fire bust on in Claire's episode, it will be on in Barry's episode and will block your path. Because we chose to leave it off for the achievement, this means that it is off in Barry's episode, and we can get through the door a little easier. Things like this are important for some of the later modes, and we will be revisiting this concept later. For now, it's just something to be aware of.

We kick off this half of the episode with Barry and Natalia, and you will be very happy that Barry decided to let Natalia come along, as her ability to see enemies through walls is very useful. You can use this ability just like Moira's flashlight, and you use cn_LT to point out hidden items and enemies. Also note that enemies that are highlighted yellow are not yet aggressive (and are sometimes dead), and enemies that are highlighted red have already seen you and are ready to eat your face!

--

Medals:

19:15, 23:32 Defeated 5 Revenant by only hitting their weak spots
18:22 Didn't fire a gun in the detention center control area
18:05, 25:35 Hit enemies with Natalia's brick 15 times
15:52 Defeated 2 enemies with a follow up attack
15:20, 16:50, 23:32 Defeated 8 enemies with sub weapons
16:30 Defeated 6 enemies using the stealth attacks
14:05 Defeated 6 enemies with the knife
18:35, 21:53 Opened 2 gimmick boxes
16:05 Found 6 hidden items with Natalia
19:55 Escaped the darkness of the forest, starting from the detour hut, within 40 seconds

So let's get this show on the road! Barry is already equipped with a handgun, assault rifle, magnum, and knife, so you have access to these tools from the very beginning. If you go back onto the boat, there is a breakable crate with some goodies, so grab that.

Head forward and take the path around the cliffs to the left. At the end of the path is a breakable barrel with loot. Turn around from said barrel and climb up the ledge by pressing cn_A. There is another crate here. When Barry says "Watch out" there will be three spiders that you can knife before climbing up the ledge to your left. Continue to the left, learn to turn your flashlight on with cn_RS, and kill 4 more spiders in front of you. Keep moving up toward the prison, and you will encounter 5 more spiders heading up the ramp to the left or stairs to the right (they both go to the same location). As you approach the garage door, another 3 or so spiders will crawl down. Head through the garage door and into the facility.

In the room to your left there will be a red herb and an item in the desk drawer. Just outside this room is a green herb. You can combine items by going into your inventory (cn_back) and pressing cn_RB. Select the item that you want to make, and if you have the proper ingredients, you just press cn_A to create it. You can create 3 green herbs by combining one green herb and one red herb. Do this now. You can see that there is also a firebomb bottle sub-weapon available, but we will need an empty bottle and alcohol to create this item. We will be keeping an eye out for these items, as we need sub-weapon kills for a medal.

Move forward through the hallway and through the blue door. There will be a good opportunity for an achievement here. Switch to the magnum (cn_down), and as you move through the next room, you will be attacked by 4 Rotten (slow-moving zombies in combat gear). Try to move back so that you line up at least two of them and then shoot them in the head with the magnum. If you lined this up correctly, you will unlock:

Line 'Em Up!

Defeat two enemies with one shot in the main campaign.

Line 'Em Up!
2 guidesOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost Only

If you unlocked it, you can reload your checkpoint to save the ammo and you can kill these enemies with knife attacks to work toward your medal for 6 knife kills. I do not believe that the spiders at the beginning count for knife kills, so try to kill 6 other enemies with basic knife attacks (not stealth kills or follow ups, those will be separate). Alternately, this spot is perfect for grinding follow-up kills. You will need to have purchased the Follow-Up skill or you will not be able to perform follow-up attacks. If you have this skill, you will be able to do follow-up shoulder charges when an enemy is stunned (slash them a couple of times to trigger this) or finish them on the ground when they are knocked over. You need to do two of these kills for a medal. Sometimes, slashing while walking backwards seems to stun enemies quicker. You have these 4 guys here, so you can reload the checkpoint for:

Fudge Them Up!

To your left, around some boxes, you will find another crate. Leave this room and keep moving forward. Vault over a desk, and move through a set of double doors.

Now you will be introduced to Natalia's pointing mechanics that we discussed earlier. Switch to Nat and point at the shiny object in front of you. Crouch and move to the end of the hallway. There is another hidden item behind the boxes. We will need to find 6 hidden items throughout the level for another medal, so keep an eye out.

Switch back to Barry and be sure you are crouched with the flashlight off. Move through the doorway to stealth kill the Rotten in front of you. We will need 6 stealth kills for a medal, and it is easiest to do all of them right now. Move to the right, and use Nat to see the 3 enemies through the wall. Switch to Barry and move up to the corner so that you can see the enemies around the corner, but they can't see you. When the one who is patrolling is closest to you and turns around, make your move. You need to do this quickly, because if you don't get the Rotten who is moving before he moves too far in front of the other one on the left, you will be seen. Kill the moving Rotten first, then the one to the left, then the one farthest away. Now you can loot the area. There is a crate behind the three Rotten you just killed and a hidden item to the left where you entered this room.

Crouch and move up the stairs to stealth kill the Rotten at the top. Look ahead of you to the barred window, but don't move too close yet. When you see the Rotten behind the window turn around and start walking away from you, move forward to the doorway of the room where he is patrolling. Peek around the corner, and when he turns away from you, move in for your last stealth kill. There is an item in the drawer in this room as well.

Go back out of this room, and kill the other three Rotten in this area (2 patrolling and one lying on the floor). This is a good opportunity for knife kills or follow-up kills if you need them. Move around to the left side of the room, and notice the blue footprints on the floor. To the left of the footprints there will be a crate beside a Rotten corpse. Move this crate with Barry (cn_X to pick up, cn_X to put down) to the spot where the footprints are leading. There is a hidden item to the left of the Rotten corpse. Now climb up the crate and boxes onto the upper level. Go through the corridor and the garage door ahead.

In the next room, grab the Control Room Key hanging in front of you. There is a hidden item in the back of this room. Use Nat to crawl through the hole to the right. There are a couple of bricks on the ground here (highlighted in light blue). Pick one up, and go up to the Rotten lying in front of the door. You can throw it like a sub-weapon (hold cn_LB and pull cn_RT to throw) or just walk up to an enemy and pull cn_RT to hit him. I like using the latter method to get brick hits for medals, but any combination of hits and throws should work. If you walk up to the Rotten on the floor with brick in hand, you can pull cn_RT 3 times to hit him before the brick breaks and he dies. You will need to kill 20 enemies with bricks for:

Brick Layer

Defeat 20 enemies with a brick as Natalia in the main campaign.

So congrats on your first one! If you wish, you can grind this achievement here by reloading the checkpoint. Pick up the gunpowder off the shelf to the left and unlock the door for Barry.

Use Barry to push the box of debris out of the way. There is a hidden item to the right of the box, between the wall and the leaning shelf. Don't worry about the Kog room for now. Go through the door to the left and through the next door at the end of the hallway. There will be a brick in front of you to the left. Use it on some of the Rotten that come out of the cells to your right and ahead. There may also be some exploding Cysts on the floor (if you got a headshot on the pus-head Afflicted in Claire's episode and did not dissolve it with Moira's flashlight), so use Nat to move towards it and quickly walk backward. Her health will regenerate if she is hurt by the dastardly goop. You can also throw a brick at the goop to trigger it to explode from a safe distance or shoot it with Barry's gun if you feel like using ammo.

There may also be more Cysts through the next door, so be careful. There will be another couple of bricks in this area that you can use on the Rotten in the room to the right. If you go down the corridor to the right and into the big room there will be another brick and another Rotten. Go down the first set of stairs (to the left of the entrance to this area) and deal with another Rotten at the bottom. You can climb through a hole at the front of the control room with Nat and turn off the power and the annoying blades. There is a hidden item in the left corner of the control room.

Leave the control room, and head through the door to your right. There will be two Rotten on your way to the door. As you exit, go to the alcove to the right, behind the now-stilled blade mechanism, and climb up to grab the Parts Box. There is also a hidden item under the desk where the Detention Facility Map was in Claire's episode.

Now, we could just leave through the door past the dormant fire bust, but we have a couple more items to pick up. Just be sure you do not fire your guns in this area because this is tied to another medal. You may use your knife freely, just don't fire a weapon. There are a couple of Rotten milling about, so knife them, brick them, or avoid them, and go upstairs to the Control Room. In this room, there is a chest on the floor called a Gimmick Box that Natalia can open just like Moira opens the Military Boxes. Unlock this one to find a Parts Box. You will need to open both of the Gimmick Boxes on this level for a medal.

If you need a few more kills, you can use the switch in the Control Room to open the cells on the upper level. There are a few Rotten in these as well as a couple of loot items. There is a breakable crate in the back left cell at the bottom as well. Also, if you did activate the fire bust in Claire's episode, you would need to turn on the power so that Nat could follow the blue feet to a hidden tunnel in the far right cell on the upper level. This tunnel would lead her to the fire bust room, and she could turn it off, allowing you to progress. If you don't need to do this, it's best to just leave the switch alone.

There is a Rare Parts Box on the blade mechanism to the left of the fire bust. You can now go use the workbench in the Kog room if you wish. You can put the upgrades (Capacity Lv. 1, Damage Lv. 1, and Damage Lv. 3) into the weapon of your choosing (handgun for me).

When you are ready, head out of the door past the fire bust. Make your way to the bridge, and grab the hidden item under the stairs leading to the bridge. Since we cannot go across the bridge, we need to go through the door to the left. Use Nat to crawl through a hole to the left of the door (there is a hidden item to the left of the hole), grab a brick, and smash the chain on the door to let Barry through. There is a crate next to the door on the other side.

Continue through the wooded area to a place where you press cn_A to slide down. In the next area you will have a short cutscene. When you have control, go into the small shack on the right to find a crate. In the main building, you will find a green herb and some assault rifle ammo to the left and a hidden item under the small shelf opposite the exit. When you move toward the exit with Barry, you will have another cutscene. Try to open the door again, and you will have to mash cn_A repeatedly until you have your first encounter with a Revenant. For a medal, you will need to kill 5 of these by hitting only their weak spots. Switch to Nat to locate its weak spot (the glowing part), and then shoot only that area with Barry. The handgun can be your best bet for these, as the assault rifle has some bullet spray and Magnum ammo is precious. I personally did these kills with the assault rifle. Back away from the Revenant and try to take clean shots. It should not take many to destroy the weak spot, especially if you put that Damage Lv. 3 upgrade on your handgun. Once he is dealt with, you can finally open the door.

You will encounter several more Revenants throughout this level, and something to note is that other than the 5 you need for the medal, you can also work toward shooting the weapon arms of 30 Revenants for:

Disarmed

Destroy 30 Revenants' weapon arms.

Disarmed
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

The ones with weapon arms have saws strapped to one of their arms. It appears that the ones with small blades on their arms do not count. A few shots should destroy the arm, so once you are done with the 5 weak spot only kills, you can work on this achievement. All Revenant kills count toward the 100 kills you need for:

Revenant Reaper

Revenant Reaper
2 guidesOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

Move forward through the woods, and when you near a light on the ground, you will get a checkpoint. This is the beginning of the woods section that you need to get through in 40 seconds for a medal. I would recommend saving this for a second playthrough, because we also need to get a Gimmick Box in these woods, and it is impossible to do both in one playthrough. We will go ahead and get the Gimmick Box now and learn the level, then come back for the 40 seconds medal later.

Behind the light is a breakable crate. Move straight through the woods past the light, and you will soon come to a hanging light with a Revenant patrolling beside it. Locate the weak spot and take this one out for your second weak spot kill. There is a crate beneath the hanging light. Hug the right hand side of the area past the hanging light, and another Revenant will crawl out at you, ripe for the killing. Now go back to the hanging light and move forward hugging the left hand side. There will be a hidden item under a fallen log. Continue forward from here, and you should see a Gimmick Box at the base of a tree. It is a bit left of the center of the path, and if you make it to the building ahead with the light, you have gone too far. Unlock the Gimmick Box with Nat to find a gem.

Now head forward to the building with the light. There is a barrel in here. Then you can move to the door to exit this area, which you will likely come to despise when trying to get through here in 40 seconds. But for now, it's cool.

In the next area, you can explore the building to find two hidden items and some assault rifle ammo. Go back outside and use a brick or your knife to break the lock on the gate to the left. Go through, loot the crate, and press cn_A to climb down.

Crouch and turn off your flashlight. You can see two Revenants ahead and the game points out a Fire Bottle behind an object in front of you. This weapon is great against the Revenants, and if you are going for your medal for 8 sub-weapon kills, this is a great spot to get a couple of kills with one bottle. I would recommend going for this medal on your second playthrough though, because you don't have many bottles at this point. Since you will need a second playthrough anyway for the 40 seconds medal, you might as well save your bottles on this one so that you can use them the second time through. You can use these two Revenants to clean up your last weak spot kills instead. I'd recommend getting a few extra weak spot kills anyway, just to be sure you get that medal out of the way.

To the left of the double doors, there is a path leading to a building where you can pick up a gem on the shelf. Move the crate out of the way to reveal a hole that Nat can crawl through to unlock the door. Then move the crate under the shelf in this room so that you can climb up and claim the Parts Box. There is also a green herb in this room. Now head back to the double doors and exit this area.

Move ahead to the next building. Taped next to the door, you will find the Forest Map. On the table next to the door is an empty bottle and alcohol, which you can combine to create another Fire Bottle. There is also a hidden item to the left. Inside, you can find 2 Tourniquets, handgun ammo, and a workbench. Feel free to put your upgrade (Quick Load Lv. 1) into your weapon of choice. Handgun for me, of course.

Leave the building, move forward, and climb down the stairs. The lumber yard is fairly big, but there aren't many items around here. There is a hidden item by some barrels in front of the building on the right. A second hidden item is by some debris to the left of the chained gate, and if you turn around from this location, you can see another by some barrels in the center of the area. There are also bricks all over the place in case you need more brick hits.

Approach the chained gate with Barry and press cn_A to initiate a cutscene. After this, a Revenant will break through the boards on your right, and another will come at you from the left. After dealing with them, you can go through the path our Revenant friend made for us on the right.

Another Revenant will be waiting for you around the corner. Deal with him, and proceed to the building. There is a crate on the porch and a hidden item to the left of the shelf inside. Turn on the generator, and you can break the chain on the door opposite the stairs for a slightly quicker path back to the main area.

Head over to the other building (the entrance is around some logs and barrels to the right). Inside the first room of this building is another Revenant and handgun ammo on the right. You can then move through the door on the right for an easy path to the exit, or go through the door on the left to fight another Revenant. This one should have a saw weapon arm that you can destroy for the Disarmed achievement.

You can find a hidden item at the end of the little hallway to the left of the exit door. Then exit this building. There will be a crate in front of you when you go outside. Pull the switch to use the crane to smash through the door and hear an amazing Barry line. You can climb up the stairs and boxes and jump down to get back to the main area instead of going back through the building. If you would like to farm Revenant kills, they will keep spawning in the area until you trigger the cutscene by moving toward the gate. One will spawn through the boards on the right, another in the center, and a third to the left. I farmed here for a while, but none of these Revenants seemed to have weapon arms, so it's possible that only regular Revenants spawn here. When you are ready to get out of here, move to the gate.

After the cutscene, walk forward and climb down the cliff. Enter the building, use the workbench if you really want to, and interact with the broadcasting equipment to end the episode. Completing this episode unlocks the achievement:

Medals Clean-up

Ok, let's proceed to clean up all of the medals. First, some general information about medals. You do NOT need to get all of the medals in one playthrough, but you DO need to fulfill the requirement for each individual medal in one playthrough. For example, you can get the 10 knife kills medal in a separate playthrough from the 3 stealth kills, but you need to get all 10 knife kills in the same playthrough and all 3 stealth kills in the same playthrough. You cannot get 6 knife kills in one playthrough and 4 in another. You can go to your episode select screen and hit cn_X on the episode to check your medals for each. If the medal and text are highlighted, you have done this medal. If the medal and text are faded/grayed out, you have not completed this medal. At the end of each episode, you will see a medal screen. If the medal is highlighted (bright and not faded), you got the medal in that playthrough. If the medal is faded but the text is bright white, you got that medal in a previous playthrough but not in the one you just completed. Your goal is for all of the text to be white. That's when you know you have done all of the medals across all of your playthroughs. Medals can be done on any difficulty, but I recommend Casual for less frustration.

If you would like to clean up the medals that you missed on your first run, just quit to the main menu, select main campaign, and then episode select. Choose the episode that you need to replay, and begin that level with all of the items you had in your inventory when you last played.

If you followed the guide above, you should only need to clean up the sub-weapon kills and get through the forest in under 40 seconds on Barry's episode. You should have 2 fire bottles in your inventory, so you can use these to get some kills early in the level and pick up 2 more as you move through the later sections if you need a few more kills. Some good areas to get sub-weapon kills are the first 4 Rotten you encounter, the group of 3 that we stealth killed in the room after you first use Natalia's powers, and the group of 2 Revenants where you picked up your first fire bottle. Of course, other enemies can always be herded up together, these are just spots that consistently worked well for me.

For getting through the forest in under 40 seconds, I highly recommend that you reload your checkpoint in the woods so that you know exactly when the clock starts. Then use a timer or clock with a second hand to count your seconds as the game gives you no indication of whether you got the medal until the end of the level. If you are not very close to the door by a count of 35, reload your checkpoint. You can use either Natalia or Barry here, and different people have had success with both of them. Some like to use Nat because she cannot be grabbed by the Revenants. Others like Barry because he runs faster. Personally, I prefer Barry. If you get grabbed, reload checkpoint. Check the video guide below to watch my path through the woods, and turn up the brightness on your game so that you can see better. Good luck, and don't get discouraged. This medal is frustrating, but doable.

When you get all of the medals, you unlock:

Cutting Edge

Next, let's get our knife-only run out of the way. You need to start at the beginning, so go to episode select and choose Claire's Episode One. You can NOT do this on your first playthrough because you will have to fire your gun to get the keys at the beginning. In future playthroughs the keys will be on a body on the floor, so be sure to choose from episode select. This achievement has been notoriously finicky for people. The description says "Clear Episode One only using the knife." Here are a few rules: Do NOT fire your gun under any circumstance EVER. I have heard that if you have the perk for your partner to fire when you are not controlling him/her (Unholstered) that it is fine, but to be safe, I would recommend completing this before buying that skill. If you have already purchased it, I can confirm that you can still get the achievement by only switching to Moira or Natalia when absolutely necessary, trying to clear out all enemies before switching, and switching back to Claire/Barry before the AI fires a shot. Do NOT use Moira's crowbar or Natalia's brick. Do NOT aim Moira's flashlight or point with Natalia. In fact, do NOT use cn_LT at all, to be safe. Do NOT perform stealth kills (even though it uses the knife, it is classed as a different attack). Do NOT perform a follow-up attack.

TIP: hold down cn_RT to attack instead of tapping it. This will do a constant slash (basic knife attack) and will prevent you from accidentally doing a follow-up. To be safe, you may also want to adhere to my personal rules (they may be crazy, but they worked for me). Although I did not pick up items or heal in my successful run shown below, I have since played through again and confirmed that you can pick up items and use healing items and still get the achievement. You can also shake off enemies with cn_LS if you are grabbed. I have heard that if your partner uses a healing item, that's okay, so it may be a good idea to get some herbs and put them in your partner's inventory before starting a new game (although my partners were fairly incompetent with healing me, even when my health was quite low).

Here's what you can do: Use the basic knife attack (obviously). Run past enemies. Use Moira's crowbar ONLY to open the two crowbar doors. Use a brick ONCE to break the chain on the door. This playthrough is essentially the same as the one in the campaign walkthrough, just with the requirement of not using any weapons other than the knife, so you can use the same path through the game. If you would like to see an example of this being done, the video below shows my successful run:

When you complete both Claire's and Barry's Episode One only using the knife, you will unlock:

Countdown Mode

Now that our knife run is taken care of, we can focus on the alternate modes. You will need to unlock these by going to your Extras menu, selecting Rewards, and buying them with BP. I suggest tackling Countdown Mode first, so let's talk about some basics for this mode. Your time will decrease constantly. Killing enemies gets you a few more seconds, but in general, if you can't kill them quickly you usually lose as many seconds stopping to fight them as you gain. Try to either use your more powerful weapons/attacks or just run past enemies when possible.

Larger enemies give more time, but also take more time to kill. Stealth kills/ground kills are good for gaining quick time. The blue hourglasses add 60 seconds each, and the yellow hourglasses reset your clock to 3:00. These yellow ones don't add 3:00 to your time, it just resets to 3:00. Use these wisely. Try to wait until you are running low on time to hit the yellow ones to maximize the time gained. You can shoot them, melee them, throw a brick at them, or throw a bottle that explodes near then. Anything that hits them will work. There are a lot of hourglasses in the detention facility in Claire's episode, but you cannot leave them for Barry because they will disappear. Using the fire bust at the end of Claire's episode will net you a lot of time, but turning this on makes you do more running around in Barry's episode, and there are a lot fewer hourglasses, so if you have time at the end of Claire's I would recommend NOT using the fire bust if you can avoid it to make your time in Barry's part easier. It can be done using the bust though, as you will see below. Just be aware of how one episode affects the other, and make decisions accordingly. Here's an example of how I made it through:

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

Claire:

Run through the beginning sections until you get to the part where you grab the knife. You can stop for a couple of seconds to pick up the handgun ammo in the room after you break through the glass. You want to try to keep pickups to a minimum, but you will probably want to pick up at least some of the ammo and healing items as you progress. Continue through the tutorial sections, and you will be able to hit your first blue hourglass to the right after you push the shelf.

You can pick up the green herb from the floor on the right as you move through the next set of rooms. After Gina wastes several precious seconds, move ahead and examine the body with the keys. Then run forward through a few hallways and pick up your second blue hourglass in the room through the double doors.

Your next blue hourglass is down the ladder in the room with the keys. You must examine the body to pickup the handgun, and you cannot shoot down the keys until you switch to Moira and shine the light on them.

Ignore the infected and climb up the ladder and go through the door. You may have to wait a bit for Moira to catch up, and sometimes you can get unlucky and she gets grabbed. If this happens, you can either shoot her attacker quickly or reload your checkpoint.

After heading through the door, you can pick the herb in the room if you want and evade the incoming enemies and run back to the door in Gina's room to head to the next section.

Pick up the shotgun and item from the crate in your path. You can also pick up some of the goodies in the next room. Make sure you shine the light on the crowbar and pick it up so you can open the door out of this room. To the right of the door is another blue hourglass.

Through the door is a yellow hourglass, but wait! If you have a bit of time, you can run around behind the stairs and break a crate for another item (hopefully ammo) and move forward to trigger the cutscene before you hit the hourglass to maximize your time. I'd wait until Alex is done talking, if possible, because you will move more slowly while she talks.

Move through the door on the right, and there is another crate straight ahead. Boost Moira up in the next room, and run around to open the door for Claire and run to the next door as Moira to save some seconds. Keep going and either kill or evade the pus-head guy. Run down the stairs to the left, and go through the room on the right. Pick up the exploding bottle and the rusty key. There is a blue hourglass in here that I'd recommend picking up now and moving the debris so you can just run through here later.

Backtrack and go to the trash compacter. Don't bother killing the spiders, as they only give you 2 seconds. Turn on the power with Moira, and hit the blue hourglass in the power room. Switch back to Claire as soon as you can, and run back to the room where you picked up the key. Be careful of the spinning blades and the enemies. They will most likely get killed by the blades, but one might get by, so be prepared to evade him.

Return to the cog room, pull the switch, and pick up the cog. Run back, place it, and crouch under the blades in the corner by the door. This will allow you to lure most of the infected in for blade kills and lots of seconds. Once you have killed a good number of them, move Moira out to start opening the door, and protect her with Claire. The shotgun does a good job here. When Moira opens the door, move on out!

There is a blue hourglass in front of you as you exit the building. There is also a green herb on your left as you walk through the open area. There is another blue hourglass right before the bridge. Now you just run to the end of the level and use the microphone. (In the video, I left the last few hourglasses because I was testing whether they would appear for Barry. They do not, so feel free to pick them up.)

--

Barry:

Grab the crate to your right on the boat (usually has ammo), and move forward along the path, breaking crates if you so desire (probably a good idea). After you get inside, pick up the goodies from the room to the left and hit the blue hourglass. Try to quickly kill the four Rotten in the next room with headshots.

Use Natalia to pick up a few shinies, and use stealth as much as possible in the next section to pick up seconds and avoid complications. Keep progressing as normal, killing enemies when you need to. The next blue hourglass is right after you use Natalia to crawl through a hole and unlock a door. It is after Barry moves some debris.

Be careful of the red pus on the floor if you killed the pus-head guy(s). Use Natalia to crawl through the hole and turn off the power. If you left the fire bust off, you can move straight through to the exit. If you didn't, you will need to go to the control room, open the cells, use Natalia to go through the cell the blue footprints lead to, down a tunnel (there is a blue hourglass down here), and to the fire bust room to turn it off.

Either way, once you move outside there will be a blue hourglass in front of you. There is another blue hourglass past the door that Natalia opens with a brick. Keep moving forward, and there is yet another blue hourglass when you help Natalia down a hill.

Move into the cabin, pick up goodies on the way to the door, press cn_A on the door as Barry once, but stop and change to Natalia. Walk and look to the ceiling on the right and he will drop down quickly. Find his weak spot, kill him, and exit. There will be another blue hourglass right outside. Run through the woods (I'd recommend using Natalia because she cannot be grabbed). There is a blue hourglass right before the door to exit this section. If you are using Natalia, there is a brick right next to it that you can use to hit it without switching characters.

Pick the firebomb bottle, ignore the Revenants and rush to the door. There is a blue hourglass by the next building.

Inspect the chains to trigger the next section. Kill or evade the Revenants as efficiently as possible as you move to the right to turn on the generator and again to the left to move the logs. The Revenants are worth 20 seconds each, so kill them in their weak spots if you're low on time.

There is a blue hourglass as you exit the log section. Now all you need to do is run to the end of the level.

When you complete both parts of Episode One in Countdown Mode, you will unlock:

Invisible Mode

Next up is Invisible Mode. The difficulty is set to Survival, and enemies are invisible until you shine the light on them or point with Natalia (or hit them). For this playthrough, you will likely be using Moira and Natalia most of the time and switching to Claire/Barry when you need to kill things. Be aware that you can run past enemies. Use the fire bust if you like, but be aware that some enemies will probably get through because they have more health. Be ready to take them out. Here's how I did this Episode:

Claire's Episode:

Barry's Episode:

Honestly, this isn't very different from playing the level normally. By now you should have a pretty good idea of where the spawns are, and if you forget you can always reference the original walkthrough above for enemy placement and items.

I would recommend using the flashlight to stun enemies and use melee attacks to conserve ammo as the enemies take more damage to kill on this difficulty. Be forewarned that enemies often do not die with one stab on the ground, so you may need to repeat the stun/melee a couple of times per enemy. If there are two or more enemies at a time, use your guns to take them down as trying to run around stunning them is less effective, and you lose track of where they all are.

Playing through slowing and methodically tends to work. Speedrunning past most enemies is also an effective strategy. Also, using the environment to help you when possible is a good idea (e.g., using the blades to kill enemies rather than fight them). Here are a few tips for some of the trouble spots:

Claire:

When you pick up the keys with Claire, move up the ladder and through the door as quickly as you can. It is really easy to get mobbed in that room, so getting out fast is well worth ignoring the couple of items you can get from the rooms.

I'd recommend you stealth kill the 3 guys in the room with the blades before turning on the power. Memorize their placement (left, right, left), and sneak up on them (remember to turn Moira's flashlight off). Also be sure to move the debris out from in front of the door in the room with the rusty key so that you can run through here and evade the enemies on your way out.

Hide under the blades in the fire bust room. Wait under there until Infected stop running into the blades for a little while. Try to get both Claire and Moira under the blades to be sure you are luring everything. Once they seem to have stopped, go out to open the door with Moira, and keep Claire under the blades. In this part, the Infected seemed to be attracted to Claire and left Moira alone while she unbarred the door. If they do attack her, pop out to dispatch them with your shotgun and then retreat to the blades as you won't know when they are coming while Moira is occupied. You could also use the fire bust here, but on this difficulty some Infected and Ironheads are still able to get through, and it makes it tougher for Barry's part, so I would recommend leaving the fire bust alone and using the blades in the corner instead.

--

Barry:

In the first room with the Rotten in Barry's episode, I'd recommend using the Assault Rifle because it will help you take down the multiple enemies quicker.

With the first Revenant start evading immediately and back out of the cabin where you will have more room to maneuver.

In the woods, either move slowly and kill each of the Revenants separately or just run. I only had to deal with about 3 in that area.

In the logging area, try to keep moving around the area if you can when the Revenants get close. If you can hit a Revenant with a brick, it will knock it over and reveal the weak spot, so that can be very helpful. You can also try to evade the last few enemies if you are running low on ammo.

After completing both parts of Episode One, you'll unlock:

Miscellaneous Clean-up

There are a whole host of achievements related to killing enemies and performing certain actions. You should unlock a lot of these as you are playing, but some will probably require some extra work. Note that these are all cross-episode achievements, so it is absolutely acceptable (recommended, in fact) for you to move on to the other episodes rather than grind these out in Episode One because most of them will unlock through natural progression. I'm going to list them here, though, because they are technically tied to Episode One, and all are achievable without buying Episodes 2-4.

Kill 100 Afflicted (the standard enemies in Claire's campaign) to unlock:

Cure for the Afflicted

Defeat 100 Afflicted in the main campaign.

Perform 50 follow-up attacks (stun them with the flashlight, throw a brick at them, or hit them with body shots until they stagger), then hit cn_RT when prompted to knock them down. This only counts if they die, so you should also hit cn_RT when they are on the ground to finish them off. You can do the ground finisher with Claire or Moira. This should also count when you do the shoulder charge follow-up attack with Barry because it kills the enemy. Do this 50 times to unlock:

And STAY Down

Perform 50 follow-ups in the main campaign.

Shoot off 30 Revenant's weapon arms (the arm with a saw or blade - in later episodes they also have arms that sling sludge that also count toward this). There is a good spot at the end of Barry's Episode One after you use the crane to knock down the gate where two Revenants will spawn infinitely. You can farm them here or just do this by natural progression to unlock:

Destroy 30 Revenants' weapon arms.

Raiders of the Evil

Clear one Raid Mode mission.

When you pick up the golden items in the mission, you can go over to one of the benches in the hub room between missions and "evaluate" it to see what upgrade or weapon you found. Do this once to unlock:

Jammin'
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle Player

A gauntlet is a set of 6 Raid missions. The first one (the only one available when you start, just labeled "I") is not too taxing. You only need to kill a certain number of enemies to end each mission. Killing them all just gives you a bonus score. I had better luck on the missions when I kept moving because you can avoid getting backed into a corner. This was especially helpful on missions 5 and 6. Once you finish all 6 missions in one gauntlet, you'll unlock:

I Saw, I Conquered

Clear one Gauntlet in Raid Mode.

That wraps up everything available in Episode One!

Episode Two

For Episode Two, I'm going to follow the same progression that I used for Episode One: normal playthrough, medals, Countdown Mode, Invisible Mode. So put on your zombie-killing pants, and let's go!

Claire

Medals:

4:20 Knocked down an enemy 5 times by blinding them with the light, then hitting them with a physical attack.
5:23 Cleared the siege in the bar without any of the windows being broken.
4:50 Stunned 10 enemies with Moira’s light.
4:50, 9:55 Defeated 8 enemies with sub-weapons.
10:23 Defeated 3 enemies using the stealth attack.
4:50 Defeated 8 enemies with a headshot.
2:00 Created 3 sub-weapons by combining items.
2:16, 3:08, 3:42, 3:57, 9:20, 15:09 Opened 3 military boxes.
1:50 Found 6 hidden items with Moira.
7:35 Escaped from the village without taking damage from Mutant Pedro.

When you start the episode, there are several goodies to pick up in the bar. Behind the counter you will find an Odorous Chemical. Behind the workbench is a cloth, and in the little room across from the cloth will be an empty bottle, two decoy bottles, and a barrel. Upstairs you will find another bottle.

When you exit the bar, don't follow the guy. Instead, we have lots of goodies to pick up around the town before the action kicks off. Move around the building to the left, and you will find a shiny (you'll need to find 6 hidden items for a medal) and an empty bottle by some barrels under a shed.

Now, climb up to the area to the left of the shed. There will be a barrel on your right. Boost Moira up into the back of the building, and there will be gunpowder immediately to your left. Through the door in front of you is a Military Box (you'll need to open 3 of these for a medal). Inside is an Expansion Bag for Moira, and not a second too soon! Be careful after you open the crate, because an Ironhead will drop down just outside of the room you are in. Quickly run out to the door, unlock it, and use your stun/physical attack combo (you'll need 5 of these for a medal; you'll also need to stun a total of 10 enemies with the flashlight for another medal). After killing him, there will be a red herb to the left of the door. Backtrack into the room with the military box for an empty bottle and the Battery, which you will need to progress with the level.

Now you can leave this house, turn right, and hug the left edge of the village. There will be a crate at the far end of the beach. Backtrack to the blue house next to the beach. There is a crate outside of this building. After picking up this crate, turn right, and continue until you get to a dead end. Turn left here, and there will be a second Military Box. There will be a Parts Box (Capacity Lv. 1) inside.

Head back to the dead end, and go right, through the shed this time. Continue past a door with a red "X" on it. Down an alley to your left is another shiny. If you turn right around the blue building, turn right where the fence is broken, and look behind the little fence in front of you, you'll find another crate.

To the left of that same blue building, you'll find an exploding bottle and a crate in the building.

Back at the bar, if you check under the stairs on the left of the building, you'll find some more gunpowder. At this point, you should have found 3 empty bottles, 2 gunpowder, and 1 odorous chemical. You can use these items to create 2 exploding bottles and 1 decoy bottle. This fulfills the requirement for the medal to create 3 sub-weapons.

You can now follow White tank top dude a bit. To the left of the green door where he is standing, you can find some more gunpowder and another shiny.

Press cn_A to go through the door when you are ready to progress.

Instead of going straight to the chopper, follow the buildings around to the right. You will find a crate, an odorous chemical, an empty bottle, and your third Military Box. This one contains another Parts Box (Firing Rate Lv. 2).

There is another Military Crate on the back side of the helicopter. This one contains a Parts Box (Damage Lv. 2).

Head back out into the village, past the bar, and head to the right. You'll come to a building with Pedro standing in front of it with a drill. He will now drill through the door with the red "X." Once he does so, head inside, and you will find an MP-AB50 and a shiny under the stove-looking thing.

Now exit the building, head around to the right and through the building to the other wall with a red "X." You'll have to go back to the building where Pedro was and get him to follow you now. When he starts drilling, you will have to defend him against several enemies. Switch to Moira to continue working on flashlight stuns and stun/melee combos. A total of 5 infected show up, including one pus-head, dropping down near Pedro (a couple more may wander in from the surrounding area as there is a constant spawn in the village now).

Once he breaks through, go inside to find two barrels in the back right corner, handgun ammo on a barrel in front of you, shotgun ammo on a barrel to the right, a shiny in the left corner outside the little building, and an infected in the little room along with the Fuel you are searching for.

Go back to the workbench at the bar, and move the following parts to your MP-AB50: Damage Lv. 2, Capacity Lv. 1, and Quick Load Lv. 1. You will need it as upgraded as possible when you go for the medal to clear the siege bar without any of the windows being broken.

Head back to the helicopter, and give tank top dude the battery and fuel. There is an ironhead to the left of the door to the chopper. Now you will get a checkpoint and the siren will start blaring. Head back to the bar, either fighting or evading enemies on the way there. They will continuously spawn, so don't worry about clearing them all. You can use these to farm stuns (need 10), stun/melee combos (need 5), headshots (need 8), and/or sub-weapon kills (need 8) for medals.

When you enter the bar, head upstairs, and interact with the panel by pressing cn_A. Now, equip your MP-AB50 and stand in the middle of the room downstairs. You need to constantly check each of the windows for infected trying to get in. Shoot them until they fall down (should only take a couple of bullets from your MP) and keep looking for more. If any of them break through a window, you should quickly reload. When Pedro asks "we got them all?" and walks toward the door, you need to shoot or stab the infected with a knife (I recommend the knife to save ammo). After this, quickly kill the remaining infected at the windows. There should only be a few more to kill before you go to a cutscene, meaning you have the medal if you successfully defended all the windows. I needed about 120 bullets for my MP, so if you don't have enough because of bad luck with random pickups, you may need to switch to the shotgun to finish off the last ones or wait to do this on another playthrough. Even though logic would tell you that the shotgun would work well, I found the MP superior here by far, so keep that in mind.

After the cutscene, you will start the Mutant Pedro fight. Use everything you have at your disposal to kill him and be careful of getting in the way of his attacks, because they can kill you in one hit. Once he dies, you'll unlock:

Pedro, I'm Sorry...

Defeat Mutant Pedro in Claire's Episode Two.

Pedro, I'm Sorry...
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost Only

After this achievement, reload the checkpoint so Pedro is still alive. We need him alive to earn a medal in Barry's episode later.

Now, the next medal wants you to avoid getting hit by Pedro. Use Claire and just move around evading his attacks until the enemies break the door. Then go outside and try to avoid all enemies and avoid Pedro at all costs. Your AI partner can get hit, but if Moira gets hit (she will most likely will), don't change to her at all. In my first run, Claire didn't get hit, but AI Moira did, and I switched to Moira in this section for a bit and didn't get hit either. At the end of the episode, I didn't get this medal, so if AI Moira gets hit, don't change into her until the next section, just to be safe. After a while, a cutscene where Neil knocks a ladder down will show up - it's on the right side of the bar. Carry on up the ladder and move across the board, and you will find a ruby to your left once you hit the grass. Move right along the cliff face, and wait for Neil to drop down to open the door before dropping down and going through.

Move forward, and there is a green herb in your path. Move to the chunk of wall with a red "X" and press cn_A to move on with the level. Press cn_A again to drop down.

The Town Map is on a box on your left. There will be an empty bottle in front of you beside a grate and an odorous chemical on a box on your right. As you move forward, there is a shiny to your left beside the stairs and two barrels to the right. Exit the sewer via the door.

Over to the right is a crate to break. As you move forward, there will be 2 pig-dog creatures that attack. These are pretty easily dispatched with your knife. As you move toward the door, 4 more pig-dogs will attack. Once they are dead, interact with the door with Moira to open it.

In the next section, there is a crate right in front of you. Head toward the ladder, and press cn_A to get a boost. Go through two doors, and there is alcohol on a shelf and a cloth in the drawer. Head through the next door, and there is another Military Box in a corner to your left. This one has a Parts Box (Scatter).

As you move downstairs and toward the kitchen, an Ironhead and two Infected will spawn. This whole paragraph is optional, so if you don't want to get hit for a shotgun, just go to the garage door and exit. Now, if you're still here, once you have dispatched of the enemies, go into the little kitchen and move the crate over to the right a bit so you can climb onto it to pick up the shotgun ammo. Now pick it back up and carry it out into the main room. Place it down in front of the shotgun on the left wall, and climb up to grab the Shotgun TAP194. This shotgun holds more ammo per clip, and I prefer it over the original shotgun.

There is a crate to the left of the exit. After grabbing everything, go to the door, and lift it up to enter the next area.

In this area, we will work on the medal to get 3 stealth kills. Stay by the door, crouch, and turn off Moira's flashlight. Wait for the Ironhead to move past you, and crouch-walk behind him for your first stealth kill. Now, move up to the more well lit area. There will be a pus-head here. Wait from a safe distance (I hid behind the yellow barrel in the middle) until he turns around, then sneak up behind him for stealth kill #2. Now, move slowly to your right. Be mindful of the Ironhead in the back right, and slowly move up to trigger the pig-dog to attack you. Stay crouched, and take it out with your knife without moving too far forward. Wait until the Ironhead moves all the way to the left and turns around, then sneak up behind him for your final kill. There is another pig-dog in the street between where the two Ironheads were patrolling.

Now you can loot this area. Moving clockwise from the left, there is a crate to the left of the entrance, a red herb to the left around the fence, a shiny under a bench past the pus-head, an empty bottle past the first pig-dog, and a shiny in a corner behind the pig-dog on the street.

Now, push one box of debris in front of the bus and one box forward to unblock the bus door. In the back left of the bus is a piece of Topaz. As you move toward Natalia, there is an empty bottle on your right, before the stairs.

Head up the stairs and into the next section. Go right, and on your left by the dead-end with debris, there is a shiny. Go downstairs, and there is another shiny to your left under a sink. Go through the double doors and use Moira's flashlight to kill the Exploder. There is an Ironhead in this room as well, and a pus-head runs down the stairs to your right. Once the room is clear, open the Military Box (Shotgun Ammo Case - allows you to hold more shotgun ammo per stack of ammo in your inventory to conserve space) on the left, and grab the shiny on the left under a sink.

Head upstairs, and use Moira's flashlight on the Exploder. Then pick up the alcohol from the shelf, the shiny on the bottom of the shelf to the right of the alcohol, the handgun ammo from the desk, and the shiny under the bed. Go through the door, and pick up the cloth from the desk drawer.

Tell Moira to stay put by pushing cn_down and cn_Y at the same time. Then unlock the red door and move around to the gate in front of the entrance to this building. Now switch to Moira, pull the lever, and switch back to Claire to quckly go through the gate and push the crate into the doorway to block the gate. You will probably need to pull the lever a couple of times to have time.

Switch back to Moira and climb over the crate to move on. Don't forget to hit cn_up + cn_Y to make sure your characters follow each other again. Now go through the right door to exit the area.

Move downstairs, and in front of you will be a crate. Across from the crate is a pus-head on the ground who will get up. Kill it, and remember to burn the pus with the flashlight if you make his head explode. Move on through the door. There will be gunpowder on the shelf to your right.

Use the workbench if you need to switch up your upgrades. Head through the door on the right, turn left, and go through the door on the right. There is a shiny by the toilet. Use Moira to remove the board on the other door to find a Parts Box (Quick Load Lv. 2). Now backtrack and move down the other hallway past the mailboxes (there is a Ruby in one on the left). Interact with the elevator door to call it, and then move away, because it will be carrying 2 Infected with it. Kill them, and use the elevator.

There will be an empty bottle to your left as you exit the elevator. Jump across the gap to the right, and move through the door. After a little cutscene, move forward, and pick up the cloth from the shelf on your right. In the next room, you'll find a crate, 2 shinies under the desks, gunpowder in a drawer, a ruby in a drawer, and an empty bottle on a shelf. Go through the door, and press cn_A to climb down. Get ready for a boss!

This boss will shoot fireballs at you, and there are also a lot of Infected and an Ironhead around the room. You can kill a couple of the Infected and the Ironhead before triggering the boss if you don't move into the room very far. This will help out a lot because then you will only have the boss and one Infected to worry about. Concentrate on the boss while moving and evading around the room. Try to dodge the fireballs, because they do area of effect fire damage. It took me 2-3 clips of upgraded MP shots to his face to kill him. If you haven't been going for the sub-weapon kills in this run, try to save your bottles so you can use them on your next playthrough for the 8 sub-weapon kills medal.

Once the boss is dead, check the room for goodies. There are 2 crates, handgun ammo, a shiny to the left of the door by some boxes, and a green herb on top of some shelves. There may be other items scattered around, as items appear when the boss blows up a shelf around the room.

Go back to the stairs to pick up Natalia. She will crawl through to open the door when you interact with the hole to the right of the door. Outside, there is a shiny to the far left and a ruby to the left by a car. Once you move to the right a bit, you will finish Claire's Episode Two.

Barry

Medals:

16:53 Defeated 5 Revenant by only hitting their weak spots.
27:42 Defeated Mutant Pedro by destroying all of his eyes.
18:39, 19:59, 26:32, 27:42 Hit enemies with Natalia’s brick 15 times.
31:38 Defeated 2 enemies with a follow-up attack.
30:09 Defeated 8 enemies with sub-weapons.
20:43, 21:48 Defeated 6 enemies using the stealth attack.
18:39, 19:59, 26:32 Defeated 6 enemies with the knife.
17:30, 17:52, 18:09, 19:40, 26:06, 26:45, 27:09 Opened 3 gimmick boxes.
18:25, 19:28 Found 6 hidden items with Natalia.
21:48 Defeated 5 Revenant using stealth attacks in the city warehouse.

When you start the episode, there is a crate behind you to the left of the building and a ruby to the right. Move forward through the gate, and when you get to a building, there will be a barrel on the right. Inside the building is a shiny (you need 6 of these for a medal). Keep moving forward, and inspect the body with Barry. Keep going, and press cn_A to move down the hill.

There are Revenants in the next area, and while you can use them for stealth hills (you need 6 for a medal), I would recommend using them for weak spot kills (shooting them only in the weak spots) because you will have an opportunity to stack 5 of the stealth kills with another medal later to get 5 stealth kills in the warehouse. Kill the first one in whichever way you choose, and then you can explore the area. There is a barrel on the other side of the building.

Keep going forward, and there will be a barrel to the left of the next area to climb down. Once you do, there will be another Revenant to kill in whatever fashion you'd like (again, I'd suggest weak spot kills). There is a barrel around the other side of the building in front of you. You cannot get through the gate yet, so move up the hill to its left and through the wooden door.

There are another two Revenants in the next area. Try to take them out one at a time, and use them for either weak spot or stealth kills.

Now you can loot some more stuff! There is a smokescreen bottle in front of the entrance, a Gimmick Box (Handgun Ammo Case) to the left (you need to open 3 of these for a medal), and 2 barrels and a shiny in the walled areas on the left.

Move the wire crate in front of the broken ladder, and use Barry to climb up. Walk across the boards, and climb down into the other building. In there, you will find the Rifle M1891/30, a Gimmick Box (Parts Box - Anti-Recoil Lv. 1), and the Back Gate Key. Backtrack to the gate, and head on through.

As you move into the village, there is a barrel in a small shack you must move through on the right. There is a shiny in a bush right outside of that shack. Continue forward and climb down the hill.

Now we are back in the village where we began with Claire. Continue forward, and use Natalia to crawl through the small hole on the side of the blue building near the beach. In this room, you can pick up smoke powder, alcohol, the Fishing Village Map, an empty bottle, and open a Gimmick Box (Emerald). Go through the door, and continue to your left. At this point you are introduced to the Glasps. These are invisible bugs, and you need to kill 20 of them for this achievement:

"I Do Not Like Glasps," I Gasped

Defeat 20 Glasps in the main campaign.

I Do Not Like Glasps, I Gasped
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost OnlyCumulative +

You will most likely get this through natural play, so don't worry about grinding for kills. Use Natalia to see them, and then switch to Barry to kill them. There is a crate ahead of you and another Glasp to your right.

Make your way to the bar, and you will find 4 shinies, an empty bottle, and 2 crates. The Drill will also be here if you killed Mutant Pedro with Claire. If you go up the staircase outside the building, you'll find another Gimmick Box (Rare Parts Box - Daze Lv. 1). Around the village, there is a crate near the door to the helicopter and another Glasp by the exit.

Once you have everything you need, move through the exit doors. There is an empty bottle to your right. Interact with the red "X" wall and move down into the sewer.

There will be 3 pig-dogs down here, which you should use to get knife kills (you need 6 kills for a medal). Move out of the sewer.

There is a crate around to the right, exactly where it was in Claire's episode. There is an empty bottle to your left and smoke powder to your right before you get to the door. Head through the door, and this will be where your path diverges from Claire's.

After a cutscene, sneak up behind the patrolling Revenant for a stealth kill, then use the one on the ground for a weak-spot kill. There is a sneaky crate hidden between the barrels and large crate on the right. Smash it, and then head through the door. Now, we will get our last 5 stealth kills for both our stealth kills medal and our 5 stealth kills in the warehouse. Use Natalia to see where the enemies are, and be patient as you move through here. I think the path is better demonstrated in the video above, but I'll do my best to walk you through them.

Head downstairs, and pick up the gunpowder from under the stairs. Then look at the two Revenants patrolling in the next room. Wait until both turn away from you, and move in behind the one close to the door. Then move QUICKLY (but still crouched) up the stairs in the back of the room and hide just outside of the doorframe. Switch to Natalia to see where the second Revenant is, and wait until he turns around to sneak behind him and kill him. Now you can move back down into the room to grab the cloth, Town Map, and shiny.

Switch back to Nat, and move forward up the stairs to the next Revenant. You'll want to sneak up to the second crate while his back is turned, then wait for him to make another pass before stealth killing him.

Open the door ahead, and use your rifle to kill the gunk-slinging Revenant in the middle of the room. One shot to his weak spot should do it. Move to the left around some crates, and wait for the Revenant on your left to turn around. Move behind him to stealth kill him, and then keep moving right around the crate to kill the second one. There is a Gimmick Box (Expansion Bag for Natalia) just before the exit.

Outside, you'll find a crate to your left, an empty bottle on a bench, and a green herb in the back of the bus. After moving through the bus, there will be a shiny in front of you and three more Revenants to kill, two downstairs and one upstairs slinging gunk at you. You can use one of these for a stealth kill if you need it, for weak-spot kills, or for follow-up kills (you need 2 of these). For a follow-up kill, if the Revenant has a weak spot on its head, reveal the weak spot and try to lure the gunk slinging guy to knock it down with gunk, then hit cn_RT to kill it on the ground.

Move upstairs into the building. As you go downstairs, there will be a Glasp in the large room and another that flys up behind you in the corridor. There will be another upstairs, where you will also find gunpowder in the drawer and a Gimmick Box (Parts Box - Damage Lv. 2). In the room with the lever, you'll find handgun ammo in the drawer. Go back to the gate, and continue on through over the crate. Head through the door and continue to the next building. Be careful of red pus if you happened to shoot the pus-head guy and forgot to clean up after yourself.

Continue past the workbench (use it if you want), and head into the first door down the left hallway. Crawl through the hole with Nat, and pick up the assault rifle ammo on your right. Unlock the door and go through the other door in that hallway to find the next Gimmick Box (Parts Box - Capacity Lv. 2).

There is an odorous chemical by the elevator. Now, if you have the Drill, then you can drill through the wall with the red "X" across from the elevator to move on with the level. If not, you'll have to go upstairs for a boss fight.

Go up the stairs through the door you unlocked with Nat, and on the first level, you'll find: alcohol in the right room, 2 crates in the areas to the left, and a place to crawl through with Nat above the elevator. Quickly run through this room to unlock the door to your right so Barry can come in and kill the Glasp in here. In this room, you'll find a red herb, a crate, and some smoke powder. Once you have everything, continue upstairs to the next floor. There is a Glasp on the stairwell. Go up to the top floor, and there will be a crate at the top of the stairs.

On this floor you will find: handgun ammo on a shelf, an empty bottle in the back left corner, and a crate through the unlocked door. You can push the helicopter down with Barry to get an item later.

To kill Mutant Pedro by destroying all of his eyes, use Natalia to locate a weak spot, destroy it, then look with Natalia again to see where the next one pops up (they are random). Repeat this until they all explode, and Pedro dies. You should destroy X total eyes. If for some reason he dies before you destroy all of them, try to reload quickly. Otherwise, you'll be playing through again. Once you kill him, be sure to pick up the Drill from his corpse so you can go back downstairs, and drill through the wall.

Head outside, and you can pick up a shiny next to the dead body. There is a crate to your left, a shiny to the right between two large metal crates, and another shiny to the left of the metal circular pieces.

Go through the big red door with the star. In this area, you will find a crate and a Gimmick Box (Emerald) in a room to the right, across from the rightmost stairs. There is another crate up the stairs to the right. Continue past the creepy dolls at the top of the stairs, and you will reach the end of this episode!

Medals

Time to clean up the medals! Note that there are two medals involving Mutant Pedro: one where you escape the village taking no damage (where you can either kill him or just dodge and run away as fast as you can), and one where you kill him as Barry by shooting all of his weak spots. You have to do at least two playthroughs of Episode 2 for some types of kills because it is difficult to get them all in one playthrough, especially the ones in Barry's chapter.

In Claire's episode, you likely only need to do some different types of kills. Save up a few sub-weapons and count the number of kills you get with them. You may want to get a few extra kills just to be safe, because the medals can be a bit finicky at times. The beginning where enemies spawn infinitely is a great place to farm kills, particularly during the part where the alarm is going off before you head back into the bar. You can use decoy bottles to get enemies to group up, and you can get several kills at once when they explode. If you purchase the Hurler skill, that will help your sub-weapons do more damage, so it can be a help when going for the medal here and in other episodes.

--

In Barry's episode, you likely need to work on some of the kills (6 knife kills, 8 sub-weapon kills, 2 enemies with a follow-up attack) and hit enemies 15 times with bricks. I'd recommend picking up a brick whenever you see it and continuing to throw it at enemies until it breaks, then kill the enemy in whichever way you need. Pick up another brick, and repeat.

For the follow-up kills, you can either get a gunk-slinging Revenant to knock down another Revenant with a weak spot on its head and perform a follow-up kill while it is on the ground, or you can use a decoy bottle to knock the Revenants down to set up the kills. Decoy bottles are harder to come by in Barry's episode, but there is an odorous chemical by the elevator at the end that you hopefully picked up when I made note of it during the first playthrough.

In the video above, dormouse03 recommends the area after you go through the bus. However, no matter how many times I reloaded the checkpoint, the first Revenant would have his weak spot in his leg instead of his head, so it was harder for the gunk monster to hit him there.

Instead, I used the previous final area in the warehouse. When you enter, the gunk monster will notice you immediately and start throwing gunk at you. Now you just need to get close to the Revenants, shoot them in the head and kill them with RT once the gunk hits them in the weak spot.

Countdown Mode

On to Countdown Mode! The same rules from Episode One apply here. Trouble spots for me were the Mutant Pedro fights, but if you kill him in Claire's part, you'll get a lot of time, which will help with her section, and you won't have to fight him on Barry's part, which will save you a lot of time there. This isn't required, as you can see in this video of my successful run:

Claire's Episode:

Barry's Episode:

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

Claire:

At the beginning, gather as much stuff in the bar as you can while you are waiting for the dialogue to finish. Throughout this entire first section you should grab items that are on your way, but don't go out of your way to get anything. Prioritize getting empty bottles and gunpowder to make explosive bottles, because you will need that during the Pedro fight. You'll have about 1:50 left when you are able to leave the bar. Quickly run up to the helicopter, hit your first blue hourglass, and wait for Gabe to talk about needing a battery and fuel before you exit back into the main area. If you leave earlier, Pedro won't be in place.

Now, run to where Pedro is standing so that he starts drilling through the wall. While he does this, quickly run over to the building near the exit, boost Moira up, and grab the battery. There is a blue hourglass that appears in this building, but it wasn't there yet for me. I could, however, shoot it from the roof when I climbed up the ladder toward the end of this section. You can either kill the Ironhead for 20 seconds or just run back to Pedro. Grab the MP and the blue hourglass from the room he opened, and command Moira to stay by him using cn_down + cn_Y. Run to the second brick wall and then swap characters so you can get Pedro moving faster. You can now hit cn_up + cn_Y to keep your partners close again.

While Pedro is drilling through the second wall, you want to try your best to kill the enemies before they distract him. You are likely running low on time at this point, so killing the enemies quickly while allowing Pedro to get the wall torn down as fast as possible is very important. Once through, there will be another blue hourglass by the fuel.

Run back to Gabe and give him the items. Then run back to the bar, killing a few enemies on the way to give yourself a bit of time. Turn off the siren, and then defend the bar. Hopefully you have some MP ammo, because that helps you kill the enemies a bit faster to build up your time. After you fight them off, you can choose to kill Mutant Pedro now for 2:00 or kill other enemies to build up some time while you wait for Neil to kick the ladder down and then run away. I have done this both ways, and killing Pedro takes quite a bit of ammo. 4 explosive bottles, around 10 shotgun shells, and between 20 and 30 pistol shots was my estimate, not to mention 2 decoy bottles and some more ammo used to keep some of the enemies off me and gain seconds so I didn't run out of time. If you have enough ammo to kill him here, that will help you in terms of time, but you may be light on ammo for the rest of the episode. If not, you may be more tight on time, but you'll have more supplies saved up for the rest of the level. Your choice.

Head into the next area, and keep moving forward quickly. There will be a yellow hourglass when you get down into the sewer. If you have some extra time, loot the first little area while waiting for the conversation to be over before you hit the hourglass. This maximizes your time and allows you to run through the sewer rather than being forced to walk while the dialogue takes place.

Move through the next areas as quickly as you can. Remember that getting the better shotgun takes time because you have to move the crate, so make a choice on whether that trade off is worth it. I went into the section afterward with about 48 seconds on the run where I picked it up, which cut things pretty close. I'd recommend running past the Ironheads in the area because they take more time than they are worth to kill. Quickly kill the two Othrus and the pus-head for some time, and move the debris out of the way.

Your next blue hourglass awaits just inside the building past the bus. If you tell Claire to stay put by the gate, you can go through with Moira, killing the Sploders with your light and killing the pus-head guy with the crowbar. Just run past the Ironhead. He won't catch up to you. Hit the lever, and switch to Claire to move the box to block the gate.

Keep moving quickly through the next area. The next blue hourglass will be in the room with the workbench. Hit the elevator button, and throw a decoy bottle down after a few seconds. This should kill both of the Afflicted that come down. You can take some time to manage your inventory during the elevator ride. Keep moving toward the end of the level. Grab things to make explosive bottles if you have time, but prioritize getting to the blue hourglass positioned just before the place where you climb down into the final boss room.

You have a bit of time to start killing enemies before the Vulcanblubber falls in. Use that time to kill the Ironhead and at least one of the Afflicted. Also, break some of the crates and collect a bit of ammo if you can. For the fight proper, keep moving around the room. Try to avoid getting grabbed by enemies, and use the shelves as cover from the boss's mortar fire. When the shelves break, ammo will drop, so you can use that to replenish your ammo if you are running low. The Vulcanblubber gives you 60 seconds when he dies, which should give you more than enough time to loot the rest of the room, get Natalia, and get out of the door and up the street to the end of the level.

--

Barry:

Barry's episode is much easier, in my opinion. I'd recommend stealth killing the first 3 Revenants. If you played on Casual before, there will be a few more Revenants than you had in your earlier playthrough. There will be 2 Revenants in the second area rather than one, but you can sneak behind them both after they cross each others' paths. There is also a blue hourglass here.

In the next area, there are 3 Revenants instead of 2. Use Nat to find their weak spots and take them out. The box will also be in the area to the left of the building rather than right next to it. When you go into the building to grab the key, there will be another blue hourglass waiting for you.

Continue as normal into the village, and take out the Glasps as usual. Pick up the drill in the bar (provided you killed Mutant Pedro in Claire's episode), and continue forward out of the area. Remember that you will need a few seconds to drill through the wall at the entrance to the sewer if Pedro is dead.

There is a yellow hourglass at the beginning of the sewer, which will reset your time to 3:00. Kill the 3 Othrus and continue through the next area. I'd recommend stealth killing the first Revenant and shooting the second. When you get into the warehouse, you can stealth the first 3 enemies. When you get to thhe gunk-slinging Revenant, avoid killing these 3 and just run to the door.

When you get back outside, there will be another blue hourglass. Proceed through the bus, stealth kill the first Revenant, and shoot the second two. When you enter the building, there is no need to run around in there as you can just run straight through.

There is a blue hourglass in the workbench room. Now, if you have the drill, you can drill through the wall, and make your way to the end of the level. If not, you'll need to move upstairs, kill a few Glasps, and fight Mutant Pedro. You can take him out using the same strategy you used to shoot out all of the eyes.

There will be a blue hourglass just outside the door as you exit. Continue to the end of the level, picking up loot along the way if you have some spare time.

Invisible Mode

Invisible Mode will likely have a couple of places that are a pain. I'll give you some tips for a few of the more irritating areas below. There are also videos of a successful run.

Claire's Episode:

Barry's Episode:

Claire:

The first tricky part is when you are defending Pedro as he drills through the second wall. I'd suggest moving out to the right so you don't get surrounded and using Moira to see when something drops in. Don't worry if Pedro gets interrupted because he will help you kill the enemies. Once you have killed the Ironhead and 4-5 Afflicted, you should be safe to return to the wall. You can also use decoy bottles here to help keep some of the enemies off you, but I'd recommend trying to save those for the bar fight.

The bar fight section is awful. Instead of checking the windows, go up the stairs, make Claire stay behind Moira and use the flashlight down the stairs to stun enemies and quickly use Claire to kill them. At this point, Claire was pretty beat up and I had used all my herbs, so this strategy worked the best for me.

The Mutant Pedro fight is annoying either way you do it, but I'd say it is a bit easier on Barry's part because there are no other enemies to worry about. If you just run around and evade, then climb up the ladder as soon as you get the cutscene, you can hopefully get through this without too much damage.

I found the Othrus pretty hard to shoot with them moving all around and being invisible, but watching their tracks in the dirt and either shooting or hitting them with the crowbar/knife worked pretty well.

In the kitchen area, run to the door.

For the next section, I had Claire crouched to the right of the entrance and told her to stay put with cn_down + cn_Y. I then snuck Moira over to pick up the red herb on the left, killed the Othrus and pus-head Afflicted with the crowbar, and moved the debris from in front of the bus. When all was safe, I hid Moira in the bus and switched back to Claire, running the same path (out of the way of the two Ironheads) to the bus.

In the next building, make Claire wait by the exit and move through with Moira, killing the Sploders and pus-head and leaving the Ironhead alone. Pull the lever, and switch back to Claire to push the box to block the gate.

Moving forward, take care of the pus-head guy however you wish, but be sure to remove any pus from the ground with the flashlight.

Use the shotgun or a decoy bottle to knock down the two Afflicted that come down the elevator, then try to take them out on the ground.

For the final boss, leave Claire by the stairs and try to take out the few enemies first with Moira, especially the Ironhead. Then use the same strategy you used before, throwing any bottles you have at him, shooting him in the face, moving around the room to avoid the other enemies, and using the shelves as a means of cover and source of ammo.

--

Barry:

Barry's episode is a bit easier than Claire's. The beginning should go mostly the same as it did during your Countdown mode run. There are a few extra Revenants (3 in the second area and 4 in the third area where you get the key). Use Natalia to scope out the situation. You can either shoot them all in their weak spots or try to stealth around and kill them all from behind. The latter will be made easier if you pick up the smoke screen bottle and use it to get around behind at least one of them. You can try waiting for an opportune moment to stealth up the left side of the house or sneak around to the right and use the smoke screen bottle to take out the one Revenant near the broken ladder. Then you can probably sneak around to the crate (it is located to the left of the entrance to this area, in some of the broken out walls) and get up into the building without alerting the other three Revenants if you are careful. If you are spotted, just take them out by locating and shooting their weak spots.

The glasp section in the village should be nearly identical, as they were already invisible. On this difficulty, the glasps get up faster if you knock them to the ground with a brick and they also move faster, evading your shots.

The Othrus are probably more trouble than they are worth, so I'd suggest running through the sewer section with Natalia.

I'd recommend trying to stealth your way through the warehouse section for the most part and running by Revenants when possible. Stealth kill the first Revenant outside, then run past the one that gets up from the ground. Stealth through the next 3 just like you did for the medal, and you should be fine. Killing the Slinger will be irritating, so you may want to sneak around the left of the containers with Natalia and then move to the doorway when you can. Be careful because the Slinger will aggro, but he shouldn't be able to hit you if you hug the crates. You could also try climbing on top of the cargo boxes and jumping along them to the door, but that will leave you more exposed to the Slinger.

For the area past the bus, you can stealth kill the first Revenant and then either kill the other two with weak-spot shots or dodge and run past them to the door.

If you left the crate in the door in Claire's episode, you can bypass the next section entirely.

If you killed Mutant Pedro in Claire's episode, then you can just drill through the wall and exit the level. If not, you'll need to make your way upstairs, killing a couple of glasps along the way, and dispose of Pedro. Same deal as before: use Natalia to locate the eyes and pop them one by one. He'll take a bit more punishment, but when he dies, you'll get the drill and can proceed to the end of the level.

Claire

Medals:

1:30 Knock down enemy 5 times by blinding them with the light, then hitting them with a physical attack.
5:54 Escaped the factory with only 1 minute left - more than 1 minute left
1:19 Stunned 20 enemies with Moira's light
10:41 Defeated 10 enemies with sub-weapons
7:25 Defeated 3 enemies using the stealth attack
1:50 Defeated 10 enemies with a headshot
2:05 Created 5 sub-weapons by combining items
2:05 Created 5 recovery items by combining items
3:32 Opened 4 military boxes
1:05 Found 7 hidden items with Moira

Go on through the garage door and you'll find some ammo in the box. Move through the door and you'll be locked in. Go left for a box and a hidden item for Moira. In the middle of this area you'll find a statue of Prometheus. Check it and check the area for a few items and a military box. Enter the door to the left of this box. A hidden ruby for Moira is on the left between some files and there's a work bench here. In the next area, break the glass to your left and jump to get in. Stun them with Moira, press cn_RT with Claire and finish them with a headshot. Keep doing this tactic for the medals above. You'll find some ammo in this little place. Exit to the left and you'll get to a locked door, but an empty bottle will be there. Check this lower area and the bathroom for some supplies. Remember to combine items for 5 sub-weapons and recovery items as you get these "ingredients". Note, just because an item tells you like, say, the red herb plus a green herb makes several herbs by combining them, even though you get multiple items, it only counts as 1 being made for the medal. Before moving up, check the hidden item between the 2 seats in the middle. Go up the stairs and check the side rooms for items while you kill enemies. Make note of the gas tanks in this upper area. One is next to the stairs and the retina scanner and the other one is on the other end of the room in front of the big star door. You can use these while you got some enemies on your tail to get some stealth kills. I recommend saving these for later after you need to go to the retina scanner, but if you see a good oportunity to use them, do it. If you don't get all 3 stealth kills here, don't worry, there's more enemies later. A military box is on the room to the right. Go to the room with the big star on it. Grab the eye from the left statue and put it back as soon as the spikes destroy the statue on the right. Grab the key and leave.

Go to the lower level and enter the room in the middle. You'll find a green herb on the right side. As Moira, keep your light on and move following the footsteps in the floor. When you're near the statue in the middle, you'll see 2 steps alone that are not connected. Instead of following the same path to the right, look left to find another set of steps in the middle. You'll get the glass eye at the end. Go up and return to the spike ceilling room. Interchange the eyes and go back to the retina scanner. In this room, break the vase in the table, grab the weapon that's next to it and find the item with Moira underneath the shelf on the right. Go to the dead body and obtain the liver. Go down and leave this place. Place the liver on Prometheus and go to the next door with the retina scanner. In this hallway you'll find an empty bottle and a box. In the next room, there's a box on the right and an enemy that will rise up when you get near it. Another stealth kill is here, you'll see an enemy making his rounds through the window in the middle. When you're about to lose sight of him, follow him quickly and cn_RT him. If by this point you don't need any stealth kills anymore, use other methods for the other medals. Pick up the red herb in the corner here next to the window. Go down the stairs and you'll find a pool of blood. Go left to find an item in a table. There's ammo in 2 boxes in the middle of the pool. A vulcan blubber is making his rounds here, either don't alert him (you can't stealth kill him, by the way) or kill him. There's a military box, gun powder and a box in this room with pigs on the ceilling. Go to the right to find a door for Moira. There's 2 ways to clear this room, the easy or hard way. For the easy way, tell your partner to stay put in front of the switch, go inside, grab the key and switch when the traps start moving. The hard way will net you some items. When the traps start moving, go back and press cn_A on the ledge near the door to lift Moira up. There will be a box and a military box. This box can be skipped if you don't wish to do this, as there's more in the episode. Go back and if the fire guy is still alive, just run past him into the door in the middle.

You'll get to the slaughterhouse. You'll see a piece of meat hanging above a grinder. Shoot at the hook to drop the meat. In the walkway you'll see some boxes. In the other side of this room, there's a military box which will be the last one you need for the medal if you didn't do the previous one. Make Moira use the switch so Claire can shoot at the hanging meat to drop in the grinder. After you drop 2 pieces, 2 enemies will storm into the room and if you go back to the walkway, a splodder will drop down from the ceilling. If you're lucky to get the other 2 to follow you and the splodder doesn't explode, you can get 3 kills with sub-weapons here. Remember that a bottle can't explode if it's thrown into the pool of blood, it has to be on the walkway. After they're gone, keep dropping meat until the grinder overflows and a liver comes up. Leave the room and another vulcan blubber will be here. Ignore him. Go to the stairs and 3 sploders will come down at you. Throw a bottle at them. After these sploders, there's an opportunity for a stealth kill. While crouching, go up the stairs and an Ironhead will drop down. If you have enemies behind you, go back down the stairs and make some time until you think the Ironhead on top has turned around so you can kill him. As you leave the facility, this is another place to get some sub-weapon kills. If there's too few enemies around, don't waste bottles, as there's a great place for this later. Go back to the Prometheus statue, place the liver and get away from the statue as fast as you can. After it explodes, enter the door. In the hallway, enter the door on the left for a box and a green herb. Move on until you get to see the factory is on fire. You need to leave this place with over 1 minute in the counter for a medal. Go up the stairs, go left and give Moira a boost. You'll need to start turning valves for the other to go past the fires. At one point, Moira will come to an Ironhead. Stun him and quickly avoid him to break a box with a green herb. Grab the box nearby and drop it down the stairs so you can climb up. At the end you'll see big heads with switches in their mouths. Again, there's 2 ways to do this, the fast way is to move the camera so you can see a bit of what's behind each head and see which one doesn't have blades behind it. I was never able to do this, so I did the not-so-slow way. Go past the table with a file in it and a tube will drop down. Give Moira a boost and to your left is a military box. This box has 4 locks, but it holds a powerful part box for your weapons, so it's up to you to see if you can risk the time to get the part and still have 1 minute left.

Move on and you'll get to the sewers. Go to the door for a cutscene. After that, you'll see a sparkle in between some objects in the walkway to the right. In front of you, there's a box and another military box on the ledge to the left. Go back to the path you didn't take on the right, go right behind the water, climb up and you'll get to a valve. Turn it and now go down and left. Get up the walkway. Boost Moira up so you can grab some supplies, a military box and a metal box. Grab the box and drop it on the walkway. Go along and you'll see a box on walkway. As soon as you get near, a vulcan blubber will be alerted and 3 enemies will appear from the water. If you can, lure the 3 enemies to the walkway on the left so you can kill them with a bottle. Remember it has to be on a walkway and not on the water. For the vulcan blubber, you either need to kill him or lure him away so Moira can open the door up the stairs. If you kill him, next to the door is a ledge you can jump into and drop down into a little section with a valve which you can turn to keep this space open for Barry later. This is for an achievement, which can be obtained by either doing this or by dropping the metal box with Moira from earlier. Enter the door, grab the ammo and move through the water to some stairs and a switch. This will spawn several enemies which can be lured for a sub-weapon. If you don't have enough enemies to get to 10 kills and you're on your last bottle, save it and just headshot/light stun them. Go up the stairs, avoid the Ironhead and the box (it's a jewel) and go to the next room. Now this is the part where the sub-weapon kills can be done, but it can get tricky. If you fail, just reload the checkpoint. Move through this area, open the box for some ammo and grab the green herb on top. On the left is a small orifice where you can crouch. Go here and leave Moira here. (Don't leave Claire or she will screw this up). Go down the stairs and move to the tubes on the left. While you're up here, enemies will spawn. Don't kill anyone! You'll see a split path, avoid the left and go right. Drop the ladder, go up and go down. Move on slightly until a sploder drop down. Now, quickly go back to the orifice where Moira is and avoid triggering the sploders. This is a little tricky because sometimes the enemies get stuck when trying to follow Claire and some will just immediately go and try to kill Moira, but they can't because she's safe and they can't crouch. Now go back to the orifice and wait a while until you see the enemies come and drop a bottle. This should easily get you the medal. If you see very few feet and not enough for your medal, just reload and try again. After that, climb back to where you were and climb the ladder at the end. Grab the empty bottle and open the garage door. Go on, to the left is a box with ammo and a hallway to the back with several supplies. You'll come to a big stairway and to the right of it another supply. Go until you reach a new area. To your right is a stair that leads to a little office. You will find a red herb and a hidden item by the wall. On the left of the wall is a painting with a gem on it, shoot it down for some nice BP. In this lower area there are 3 boxes with random goodies, and in the higher area is another box and a green herb. Enter the door on the end of the walkway. You'll find ammo, a green herb and a hidden item below the table behind the list Claire finds. Get out after the cutscene.

Boss fight. Shoot to lure him to punch the explosive boxes until he exposes his weak spot. Shoot that until he cools off and it gets hidden again. Feel free to use every item you have against him. If you need ammo, the explosive boxes will leave items after the fire they ignite is gone. A few repetitions, and he will be down for the count. When you go up the elevator, there will be a cutscene, and once you have control again, switch to Moira to grab the gun and shoot him (don't grab the gun as Claire). This will unlock:

27:23 Defeated 3 enemies with a follow-up attack
26:15 Defeated 10 enemies with sub-weapons
24:00 Defeated 4 enemies using the stealth attack
15:28 Defeated 10 enemies with the knife
17:03, 19:00, 22:30, 23:21 Opened 3 gimmick boxes
32:53 Found 5 hidden items with Natalia
13:50 Cleared the sewage treatment plant with Natalia taking no damage

We are in the sewer going the opposite way that you went in Claire's episode. You'll have to walk very slowly while talking with Natalia. Grab the items along the way and eventually you'll get to a ladder. During this whole section Natalia can't take damage until you get outside the sewage plant. After going down the ladder, grab some bricks and be very careful while going for the hits with Natalia. Go up the stairs and check the item between the two barrels on the top. Have Natalia wait here and as you go through this little hallway, 3 Inflicted will rush at you. Knife them down. Use the knife while walking backwards to increase the chances of getting a follow-up attack. After going through the door, have Natalia wait here. Go down. Round the enemies up, including the spiders, for a great sub-weapon kill spot. If you're lucky you can get all 10 here. For knife kills, the spiders don't count, so you have to use the other enemy types. Knife the Inflicted so you can get some follow-up attacks. If you see a brick and you feel like you can do it, have Natalia do some hits if you're not overwhelmed by enemies. Go to the place that opened through the last valve that you turned in Claire's episode where you can use Natalia to open one of the gimmick boxes. Farther down the corridor you will find the box that we dropped with Moira. Move it under the alcove on the right and climb up to get a parts box. Go behind where the waterfall used to be and where you turned the first valve with Claire to find the AK-7. Doing any of these three things will get you:

1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeHost Only

When you're about to get to the place where the old man that pointed a gun at Moira lives, there's a Glasp on the left side of the stairs. If you actually run to the stairs, sticking to the right side, you can avoid it. Go to the old man's little place and grab the key and several items to make sub-weapons. You'll run into a part of the sewers that is blocked. Natalia needs to get under the debris and turn the sluices so Barry can advance. There are several dead enemies with Natalia that won't get up. The ones that do get up are obviously on her way to the sluices, so you have to watch over her. If she gets damaged, reload the checkpoint. There's several items to pick up in Barry's path and there's some hidden items that you need to be close with Natalia so she can point at them. When you get to the next sluice with Natalia, an Inflicted will get up. Have Barry near the blocked path so you can easily headshot it. Once you turn the sluice, Barry will get attacked by several enemies. Round them up for a good sub-weapon kill spot. On Natalia's path, there's a green herb on the right side. She'll get to an obstacle that needs to be shot by Barry. This time when you get to the sluice, she won't get attacked. After opening the block, move with Barry first, kill the dog pigs and a zombie that is wandering on Natalia's path above. When this enemy is dead, go to the left for a gimmick box. You'll see an alcove to the right of Natalia's path where a zombie will get up. In front of this is a fire bomb you can shoot, just move Natalia away before shooting at it. Immediately after this enemy, another one on the ground will get up as well. Kill it and check the alcove for a hidden item. Before you get to a ladder with Natalia, there will be another hidden item. As you're about to reach the sluice, a Glasp will be making its rounds on Barry's path. Near it is a smoke bomb you can shoot so you can see the Glasp easily. Shoot the obstacle on Natalia's way and as soon as you pass it, an enemy will get up above. After turning the sluice, move Natalia first and you'll get to a fire bomb you can drop. Change to Barry and enter the next area. Enemies will get up and soon a Glasp will appear. Shoot the fire bomb now to kill everyone. Go on with Natalia to find 2 enemies that will get up if you get close to them. Grab the bricks and throw them at their head. A bottle will be hidden between some barrels. Turn the sluice and go in the middle of the fire bomb area to find a gimmick box. Move along and you'll find 2 ladders. Go to the right, throw a brick to the Glasp, kill it and use this right ladder to find the final gimmick box. Go to the ladder on the left to leave the sewage plant. Now you don't need to worry about Natalia receiving damage.

You'll finally get outside. After a long walk and some ladders, you'll get to the ground. Check the area for items. Open the door and you'll see a Revenant walking. Crouch and stealth kill it. Go up the ladder and you'll find a green herb next to the elevator. Keep moving down and you'll see a tentacle on a hole in the wall. Move past it and you'll see a workbench on the left. Go inside this room to find some items. Leave and go to the next door. Turn the power on and go back to enter the place where the tentacle was. Grab the items in this room and put the box in the conveyor belt. Turn around to fight the Dhurlga. The medal in here is that you can't destroy its tentacles. You can only hit its glowing weak spot. You can use Natalia as bait and move around it. Another method that can be seen clearly in the video above is to wait for it to attack you. When it lifts its tentacle, shoot. The last method is, if you have a smoke bomb, use it and you can actually stealth kill it from the back. When its finally defeated, climb up the newly opened path. Grab the box on the right and put it on the conveyor belt to the left. You'll see 2 Revenant walking around. Shoot them in their weak spot. Grab the box and put it on the little square in the main, closed path. Move Barry to the left and leave him in front of the switch. Move Natalia to the right and use the hole in the wall to move to the other switch. Use the switch and quickly change to the other character and do the same. Grab the box and put it down the broken ladder so you can climb up. In this room there's a Revenant on the floor. Crouch and stealth kill it. Open the door, grab the box outside and put it in the conveyor belt inside the room. Grab the bottle by the window on this top floor. Climb the ladder outside and carry the box to the conveyor belt. Climb the ladders again and grab the box to put it beside the power machine. A Revenant will get up on the elevator, shoot it in its weak spot. Use the elevator, climb up and move along for a checkpoint. 2 Revenant are walking. Stealth kill them and check the area for items. Grab the box and as you get closer to where you need to drop it, the Dhurlga will come back with 2 annoying friends. The medal for not killing its tentacles still applies here. You can actually keep walking with the box by turning left, avoiding the Dhurlga and drop it on its respective spot and leave the area without fighting anyone if you don't waste time. All that's left is walk to the end of the episode.

Medals

As always, we have medals to collect. A tip with the Dhurlga is to use a smokescreen bottle to get some easy hits on its weak spot/get behind it to do a stealth kill without hitting any of the tentacles. You can bypass the second Dhurlga fight and still get the gold medal. Just take the box around to the left of the big crate after the Dhurlga jumps down. It shouldn't catch up to you if you go straight for the machine, and even if you get hit by a Revenant tossing gunk at you, you can usually make it to the machine and hit the button. Then just run through where the gate opens.

Another thing to note is that any enemies that you kill with sub-weapons will NOT count if they turn into Sploders. Try to save up a bunch of explosive bottles, and if any of the enemies turn, then make sure to get another kill. On Barry's episode, spiders do not count toward knife kills, so be sure to get those on Rotten or Revenants.

Getting all of these across playthoughs earns you:

Countdown Mode

Claire

Follow the video for the fastest route to take on this countdown. The only important point here is when you get to the boss area. If you still have time left, don't hit any of the time sands and run to where Claire finds Neil's list. There's a golden time sand in this room and you're free to use the rest of them in the boss room as you like. When you get to the quicktime event, kill him with Claire and not Moira, as this will make the countdown in Episode Four much easier.

--

Barry

There's not much tips that can be given here. The part with the sluices is quite difficult. Just kill the enemies as efficiently as you can. Doing the avoid trick in the second Dhurlga fight is recommended.

Invisible Mode

Claire

Invisible Mode shouldn't be too harrowing for this episode, but there are a few tricky bits. In Claire's half of the episode there are a lot of enemies that you can potentially skip, so it is your choice whether or not to do so. You can sometimes fare better if you try to kill everything, but you also want to have a good stock of ammo for the boss fight at the end. Use everything you have during that boss fight though, because you won't need many bullets for Claire's Episode Four.

--

Barry

Barry's half of the episode does not feel as hectic as Claire's episode, but the Dhurlga fights can be a bit tricky, particularly the final fight with the Revenants as well. Remember that you can skip this fight if you just place the battery on the machine and activate it.

Completing both parts will unlock:

Medals:

6:15 Cleared the episode with a 100% accuracy rate
6:15 Defeated 1 Glasp with a knife
1:05 Opened 2 military boxes
8:54 Cleared the episode with no retries
1:58 Defeated 3 glasps
7:20 Escaped the monument with more than 15 seconds to spare
4:52 Killed 5 indigenous animals
0:38 Found 4 treasures
4:10 Found all of the Tower Emblems
8:54 Cleared the episode within 20 minutes

This episode has a medal for 100% accuracy, so don't shoot by accident or start playing with your gun randomly. Go on through the door. On the left you'll see a switch. This affects Barry's path, where you'll have to go both ways in that section. Leave the switch alone on this run. Go through the door and before you go up the stairs, go right underneath them to find a treasure. Go up and in this room check the seat on the right of the bed for a treasure and break all the vases to get that medal done. Break the fish tank in the middle and move it to find a switch. Go up the stairs and through the door. On this room, look to the right to find a Tower Emblem and shoot it. Wait for the talk to end and walk back to where you started the episode. Move along the path and through the door. Here you'll find your first 2 animals. Check the video above for the exact spots on where they are, one in front of you as you enter this room and one on the left near the box. Be careful killing them or you can lose the 100% accuracy. Get to the gate and shoot the lock on the left and knife the one on the right. You'll find your first military box here. Drop down the ladder and break the box on the left for a smoke bottle. Check the video for the exact spot where you can kill the first Glasp with a knife, at the end of the rail. Now wait for the Glasp from the left to come to you and throw the smoke bottle at it to kill it without missing a shot. Drop down the ladder and go to the left. Stop before the 3 boxes. A Glasp will move towards you. You'll know it's in front of you when the boxes start moving, so shoot above the boxes slowly until you see the Glasp dying. That's the 3 you need for the medal. Run to the door so you don't have to fight the 4th Glasp around here.

You'll be outside the tower. Check the video for the exact spot for the next 3 animals. 2 crows are on the right and the 3rd one is beneath you. Be careful on the shooting. Drop down to where the 3rd crow was. Look back at where you where to find a Tower Emblem under the top. Move on until you have to go down for the next military box. Getting down there with Claire can be annoying, as it's easy for her to fall to her death. To make this easy, instead of dropping down to where the box is, drop down to the right. Claire will take damage. AI Moira will go down next to the box, so change into her once she drops down safely. Move on until you see a box that is too big to climb. Go back and you'll find a small box to carry and put down next to the big box. Move on until you get to a part where you have to lift Moira up to the right. Use the crowbar to make platforms for Claire. At the end you'll see some movable crates. Move the left crate to the wall. Moira can now move the crate in front of her while she crouches. Move on and you'll have to run down the tower. You'll eventually get to a tube that looks like a big worm. Instead of going left, go right to find the last Tower Emblem. Continue for an event to happen. Immediately turn around to the hole in the wall, you need to have at least 15 seconds left on the clock. And we're done with Claire's story.

Barry

Medals:

18:57 Defeated 10 revenant by only hitting their weak spots
19:39 Defeat Alex in the mine sub-level without taking damage
10:04, 17:07 Hit enemies with Natalia's brick 15 times
11:35 Defeated 5 enemies with a follow-up attack
17:07 Defeated 10 enemies with sub-weapons
10:58, 18:19 Defeated 5 enemies using the stealth attack
10:58, 17:07 Defeated 10 enemies with the knife
12:00 Opened 3 gimmick boxes
9:45 Found 10 hidden items with Natalia
14:40 Cleared the level by moving the crane no more than 3 times

Walk along and turn right before moving up the stairs to find some items and a workbench in a cabin. Go to the stairs. Move to the left of the big metal box on the middle of this section to get 2 stealth kills. Inside the box is an enemy that can't be stealth killed, so knife him down. On the top of the big box there's a hidden item for Natalia. There's 2 paths in here, but only one is available depending on what position you choose with the sluice in Claire's episode. The path you chose will have no water and will have several enemies sleeping until you get close. Whenever you see bricks before going down the ladder, throw them in this path to get brick hits with Natalia. After you're done with bricks, use the knife with Barry for some kills and you could get some follow-up attacks too. Remember that knifing while walking backwards seems to improve your chances of getting it. If you're lucky, some enemies will have their backs turned on you, so there's some more stealth attacks here, but don't worry if you don't get the chance here. Move on and you'll find more big metal boxes to your right. Natalia can only enter this area. Shoot the lock on the box for Natalia to lure the enemies inside out of the box and open the first gimmic box. After that, go on down and move until you get to the huge ladder. Behind the ladder on the right side is a hidden item.

At the top, you'll see several switches. The medal here is to get to the end by only pushing 3 switches. Move Barry to the little lift next to the first switch and with Natalia, use this switch. After Barry moves to the other side, move to the ladder next to him and climb it. At the top, go to the right, move past the lift and pick up the explosive bottle at the end. Move him back to the lift in the center. With Natalia, use the 3rd switch. Barry will move and you'll get to a ladder you can push down. Move Barry again to the lift in the center. Natalia now has to climb the ladder, move past Barry and go down the ladder on the right. There's a hidden item in the pillar after the 4th switch. Use the 5th switch. Barry will move to the end and you'll drop down the ladder for Natalia to get up to the top. Go up the stairs and as you pass through the windows, enemies will break them. Knife them for some follow-up attacks chances. In this area there's a weapon and some items. Move on until you get to another outdoors area. There's a few items boxes around here. Check the room up the stairs at the end of the area for items. Move up the stairs and you can jump to a railroad. In the middle of the road, you can jump to an area that has a small box with an exploding bottle. Go inside the elevator and push the button.

Once the ride stops, you can find some ammo and a hidden item in the room to the left. When you reach the door, there's a hidden item to the left. Enter the next room and you'll find another box of ammo in the table to the right. You'll find there's gas on these mines. If you stay too long on the gas, you'll lose health and die, but your AI partner is unaffected. Run straight into the gas until you get to a dead end with rifle ammo. Go back to the other way you just passed for some air. There's a hidden item between the destroyed wall remains. There's a brick here if you need some more brick hits. Move on and take the right passage. To the right, there's 4 enemies. Group them together and throw them a bottle. Run to the end of this hall to get air and turn on the power. Take the rifle ammo to the right. Go back the previous room to take the door to the left. This area has 6 enemies, which will get you the medal if you group them all together. Go on and you'll reach a large area with gas on the bottom. There's a disinfectant next to the work bench. Go up the stairs to the left and up the ladder. Enter the door in front of you. Tell Natalia to wait and crouch until the revenant has moved past you so you can stealth kill him. Now go to the right and stealth kill the goo monster. Go to the left and push the mine car. Natalia can enter the hole in the wall and quickly open the door. Kill the revenant on his weak spot. Go back to the locked room and open the item boxes on the platform and carry the metal box to the right end of the main room, where you can use it to reach the stairs above. In this room there's a few items to pick up and a Lift Activation Key. Leave and go to the door on the other side. There's a large area full of gas and enemies. Use the enemies for any medals you need, either sub-weapon kills, follow-ups or bricks. If you need air, just climb the platform in the middle. Having the electric door in front of you, go to the left to push a mine car. Stairs will appear to your left if you need air and you can find an item box. Keep pushing the mine car to the end to find a gimmick box on a door to the right. Going back to the previous area, with the door in your sight again, go to the path to the right. To the left is another mine car you don't need to push very far. Go into this new path while walking slowly, so you can stealth kill the revenant in here. If you follow the path the revenant was facing, you'll reach a dead end with a platform that has a Magnum 2005M. Turn around and go back to the path you didn't take. Enter the door and you'll see a room with very little space. Just a few steps in and the Dhurlga will jump into the screen, with a goo throwing monster as his backup. You can fight these enemies, but you can also just avoid them entirely by running and dodging, heal if necessary. Reach the top of this room to find an item box, a red herb and a switch. Use it and leave the room. As you return to the gas mine and the electric door, you'll see a revenant behind the platform where we take air. Kill him on his weak spot. Use the electric door and you'll find 5 enemies just around the corner. Go up the stairs, through the door and you'll find another switch that will take out the gas out of this room. Drop the ladder and go back to the lift to activate it.

At the bottom, go left and use the ID machine. Now switch to Natalia and use the machine again. Move on to find a small room with some items on the sides. Go on to enter the mansion. Enter the door to the right to find some handgun ammo on a box. Back in the hall, turn right and crouch. There is a revenant lurking around here. Wait to stealth kill him. This should be your last stealth kill if you managed to get the previous ones. Search the book cases in the room to find magnum ammo. Go back to the hall to take the left path. You'll see a revenant walking into the bathroom, you can stealth kill him if you need another one. Search the bathrooms for a few items and go to the end of the hall for the last door. A revenant is waiting for you right at the entrance, kill his weak spot. Go on to the door at the end of the hall. Go down the stairs and enter the door to the left to find an empty bottle and cloth. Enter the door at the end of the hall to find a room full of revenants in tubes. Kill all of them one by one on their weak spot. When you're done, enter the door to the right. You'll find another revenant in a tube to kill. When you enter the next room, there's an empty bottle right by the entrance. Move on to the stairs and enter the door on the left. You'll see a corpse with a Level 1 Security Card. Now go all the way back to the revenant tube room. Go to the other end of the room, but walk slowly, as a glasp has now appeared. Go down the stairs and enter the room in front of you. There's 2 revenants here. After you killed them, open the gimmick box. Go to the door you just ignored. Enter the rooms to the right to find a couple of items. Go to the room on the left. A revenant is on the floor, but it won't get up unless you shoot him. You need to open the corpse containers in this room to find a key. If you wish to avoid combat, use Natalia to see which ones contain revenants. You'll find an emblem key in one of these containers. When you go back to the revenant tube room, another glasp is waiting for you. Go back down to where you got the Security Card and go up the stairs. You'll end up in the mansion hall.

Go to the right hall and open the door at the end. In this room, another gimmick box is hidden behind the counter. Enter the room to find ammo and a Level 2 Security Card. As you return to the hall, a revenant will drop down from the ceilling. Go back to the Level 1 Security Card Room, enter the room with the stairs and open the door to the left. As you enter, some alcohol is on the ground. Crouch to the left to enter the hole in the wall. You'll enter a big area. Search this room completely for herbs, ammo, bottles and hidden items. On the left side of this room is a switch that will call the elevator. Don't touch it yet. First, go to the left of this switch and kill the revenants. After this, pull the switch. An endurance round will start, with enemies coming from the other side of the room. The first enemy will appear on the platform on the left side, a goo throwing monster. Next, some revenants will come out of the platform on the right, with a glasp next to you on the ground on the left. When they're dead, another revenant and a goo monster will come out from the right platform. The last enemy will be a Dhurlga. Remember to keep your distance and try to save your magnum ammo and your bottles if you can. Enter the elevator. Now you'll be in a long corridor. There's several items to pick along the way that are easy to spot. At the end you'll find a door that will lead you to the final boss.

In this room, there's several items to pick up and the boss is hidden at the beginning to give you time to collect them all. After a while, the boss will show up. The medal here is that you can't be hurt by the boss. If you do, reload checkpoint. Use your bottles and your Magnum first. If you choose to kill the boss in Claire's Episode 3 with Claire, the game ends here. If you choose Moira, the game continues. In round 2 of this fight, you can get hit and not lose the medal, but if you don't want to take the risk, just avoid fighting the boss inside the cave and lure her outside where you can shoot at it from a distance.

Countdown Mode

Time for your last Countdown Mode! Nothing stands out as being particularly frustrating except potentially the Barry sections in the poison mines. If you killed the boss with Claire in Episode 3, the boss battle will be much shorter, but as you can see in the videos below, dormouse03 was just too stubborn and she couldn't accept the bad ending. 😅 Just kill those enemies quickly (bottles work well) and move as fast as you can. The final boss fight can be irritating if you don't kill it quickly enough, so be sure to save up some bottles/ammo for the end. The room before the boss where you have to kill everything to proceed can be glitchy as well, as I have had the experience where I have killed everything that I can find, but the door never opens, causing me to run out of time. As with everything, just be persistent and make sure that you know where everything will spawn.

Invisible Mode

Lastly, we have our final challenge: Invisible Mode. This can be pretty tough in places, particularly in the prison mines with the Revenants and Dhurlga and in the lockdown/quarantine room before the end. You don't need very much ammunition for Claire's episode, and it isn't all that different from the regular campaign because all of the enemies are invisible anyway. If you haven't played on survival difficulty, there will be a glasp during the outside section that isn't there on the other difficulties, so be aware of that.

I would suggest running past any enemies that you can. I particularly recommend skipping the first Dhurlga fight, because the Revenants in that section are hard to snipe when you can't really see them, and they keep blindsiding you with their goop. Using Natalia there makes it a little easier to avoid the grab of insta-death. In the lockdown room, I have had problems with the enemies not spawning, so beware of that. There is no solution that I know of if that glitch happens other than to restart the checkpoint and try not to scream.
