Victor Vran

Welcome to the Victor Vran walkthrough! First, we will be going through the main game, and then acquiring any left-over achievements after that, and we will finish by completing all of the elite challenges. I suggest doing a walkthrough on normal/casual first (you can switch between the two in-game) to knock out most of the achievements which do not depend on the difficulty, as there are 3 difficulty related achievements total. It should be noted that this game can take an immense amount of time to get all the achievements. After the main story, we will move onto the Motorhead DLC, and finally, the Fractured Worlds DLC.

This game is not ‘hard’ per se, but it does take an immense amount of time due to some achievements being completed by random drops. This page will be dedicated to explaining different aspects of the game, you can skip this page if you want, but all this information can be incredibly useful. Tips on playing are located at the very bottom, I suggest you at least look at those.

Difficulty:

There are three difficulties you can play on. You can freely switch between Normal and Casual mode, the difference being you cannot equip hexes while you are on Casual (hexes described below). Hard mode is where you have all 5 hexes permanently equipped and is incredibly difficult at first (until you reach about level 7). If you start a campaign on Hard and decide you don’t like it, you can switch to Normal. However, you cannot go back to Hard once this is done. There is also a ‘difficulty’ called Hardcore, which is nothing more than a designation that your character has not died. This character will not share a stash with your other characters. Once you die, you lose the designation. Playing on Hardcore is not any harder than the regular game, but keeping the Hardcore status is very difficult, especially on Hard difficulty.

Levels:

There is a total of 41 levels in the base game, 16 in the Motorhead DLC, and 5 in the Fractured Worlds DLC. Each level has 5 challenges to complete, and after you complete all of them, your prize is 5 more elite challenges on every level. Fantastic. If you fully complete an objective, and then leave the level, you will not lose that challenge. However, if you have an uncompleted challenge with any progress, you will lose all the progress. Most of the levels also have ‘secrets’ which are hidden areas with chests. The head on your HUD, between your two weapon slots, will start to glow when you are close to the entrance of a secret location. Challenges relevant to secrets will not lose progress if you quit, even if it is uncompleted.

Hexes:

Hexes are additional challenges that make the game slightly more challenging, there are 5 total you can equip, and you can equip any number you want, they are entirely optional. There are many challenges tied to hexes however, and they cannot be activated on Casual mode. You must activate them before entering the area or restarting the area after you activate them. The hexes are unlocked at level 12 (unless you’re on Hard, in which they will be unlocked from the start). Hexes grant an additional 10% XP gain and 5% higher item drop rate (a total of +50% XP and +25% item drop rate if all 5 are activated). Each hex has a Kill Rating, which when a tier is reached, it drops a chest full of items. These tiers are unlocked at the following intervals: 500, 1000, 5000, 10000, and 20000 kills.

The hexes are (status effects will be described below):

  • Hex of Malice: Monsters hit 50% harder and cause Cripple for 2 seconds
  • Hex of Pain: You lose health periodically (100 HP, does not scale)
  • Hex of Tenacity: Monsters get +120 armor and health regeneration
  • Hex of Time: Monsters move/attack faster
  • Hex of Tyranny: Some monsters become Tyrants (do not count towards challenges; also describe below)

Status Effects/Conditions:

  • Armor: Gives a chance to deflect enemy attacks
  • Bleeding: Lose 2% or 100 HP per second, which ever is less. Target cannot die from bleeding
  • Brutality: +50% outgoing damage
  • Burning: -40 HP per second
  • Cripple: -66% movement speed
  • Champion: A pre-designated enemy which has higher health, armor, damage and can use a demon power (discussed below). This power can be random or designated. Many challenges are related to champions. Designated by a skull on the map.
  • Daze: Cannot attack
  • Disease: Lose (5+1% HP) per second
  • Electrocuted: -25% movement speed
  • Epic: Bosses which come from Bounties, very tough to kill, usually have very high damage. Designated by a skull with horns on the map
  • Fear: retreating enemy
  • Frailty: +100% incoming damage
  • Frost(burn): -33% movement/attack speed; (-20 HP per second)
  • Slowed: -50% movement/attack speed
  • Tyrant: A randomly spawning enemy, which is the equivalent of a champion, but do not count as challenge rewards. Only spawn if Hex of Tyranny is active.
  • Vulnerable: Next hit will be critical
  • Weakness: -50% Outgoing damage

There are many more than this, these are just the most common. The full list is in the Codex, accessed via the pause menu. I left out DLC related ones, and they will be discussed at the time of that DLC. Very rarely are challenges related to status effects, but some elite ones are.

Demon Powers:

Demon powers are powerful moves that can be activated when your Overdrive bar is filled (yellow, left side of HUD). You gain Overdrive by dealing damage to enemies. Normally it will decay outside of battle. Your outfit determines how you can modify your Overdrive income. Some make it possible to be gained over time, some prevent it from being drained outside of combat, etc. These powers are (* by the name indicates that you will not gain Overdrive while the power is active; & indicates you cannot use skills while the power is active):

  • Berserk Aura: Creates an aura which increases the damage of all allies and enemies inside. User also gains Focus.
  • Boomerang: Throw a boomerang which damages anything in its path, hovering at a distance for a second or so before returning
  • Diamond: Creates a shield around you, blocking damage and projectiles (chance to deflect)
  • Blink: Teleports you to an enemy, dealing damage and inflicting Vulnerable. Also giving you a speed boost
  • Dark Mist: Turn into a cloud of mist, damaging enemies and inflicting Weakness
  • Sanguine Aura: Creates an aura of healing and giving the user armor
  • Meteor: Summons a few meteors which deal damage to enemies
  • Pull: Pulls a couple enemies to you inflicting the Dazed Status
  • Purging Flame: Summons a column of flame that damages enemies. Cannot move while active
  • Sunray: Summons a beam of heat that damages enemies. Cannot move while active
  • Shockwave: Creates 3 shockwaves which damage and inflict Cripple to enemies within the radius
  • Time Bubble: Creates a bubble in which enemy movement and projectiles are slowed down
  • Bomber (DLC): Spawns an aircraft which drops bombs that deal damage and leave a pool of burning napalm
  • Paralyzed (DLC): Spawns a Speaker which inflicts Weakness and Headbang to all nearby enemies
  • Death Machine (DLC): Creates a field which pulls enemies near and damages them with pulses
  • Heartbreaker (DLC): Summon a lightning rod which inflicts Weakness and Electrocuted to all nearby enemies. Multiple rods create beams between one another which damage enemies
  • Lost in the Ozone (DLC): You turn into a crystal which stops damage and applies Frost to all melee attackers
  • Iron Fist (DLC): Creates a fist which smashes the ground dealing damage and inflicting Cripple to enemies

Destiny Cards:

These are passive abilities, of which you can equip up to 7.There are two limiting factors: The number of cards you can equip and the amount of total destiny points (each card has a given value). The number of cards and amount of destiny points you can equip will increase as you level up some things to note:

Rarer/More useful cards have higher DP values.

Some cards have a ‘divine’ or ‘wicked’ prefix. This indicates they have an additional stat that the same card without the prefix would not have. These can be any thing ranging from healing effects to damage effects.

It is usually useful to keep one of each of card in your inventory. I will also note some important cards to keep an eye out for in the walkthrough that are related to achievements.

Weapons:

I recommend you keep one of each type of weapon in your inventory, as many challenges can be related to weapons. I also recommend you equip one ranged and one melee weapon in your slots, for better diversity, as some enemies are best engaged at long range. Legendary weapons (purple) are very useful, I recommend always keeping one if you find it. Legendary weapons do not usually have the highest damage stat; however, they level up with you. And they always have a unique bonus (sometimes hilarious) and their stats are NOT randomized. You don’t need duplicates, however. Weapons may also have prefixes/suffixes, depending on the rarity or if you add them later. The weapons and their corresponding skills are:

Sword: Mid-speed melee weapon focused on critical hits

  • X-Attack (Sword Hack): A chain of three slashing attacks, the final inflicting Vulnerability to your enemies
  • Y-Attack (Slash): Knocks back single enemy, instantly recharges upon critical hit (5 sec cooldown)
  • B-Attack (Dash): Inflicts Daze to a single enemy, applies Daze to all nearby enemies upon critical hit (8 sec cooldown)

Shotgun: Single target ranged weapon

  • X-Attack (Fire): Shoots a single enemy, split-timing attacks inflicts Vulnerability (.8 second cooldown)
  • Y-Attack (Aimed Shot): Shoots a single target with high power, recharges instantly when you kill an enemy with the shotgun (12 sec cooldown)
  • B-Attack (Point-Blank Shot): Shoots a spray of bullets in front of you, knocking back all enemies and giving you a Speed buff (12 sec cooldown)

Hammer: slow, powerful melee weapon, good for overkill

  • X-Attack (Pound): A chain of three attacks, the third is more powerful and knocks back enemies
  • Y-Attack (Crush): Press or hold (holding gives you armor penetration and higher damage) to deal damage and apply Cripple to nearby enemies (12 sec cooldown)
  • B-Attack (Smash): Allows you to jump to an enemy, dealing damage and applying the Life-Steal buff to you (12 sec cooldown)

Rapier: Fast melee weapon with armor penetration

  • X-Attack (Flurry): A chain of fast attacks which give you Enraged buff upon kill

  • X-Attack (Shock): Hold button to fire a beam of electricity, applying Electrocuted to any enemies it touches (.3 sec cooldown)
  • Y-Attack (Ball Lightning): Fires a ball of lightning that bounces between electrocuted enemies. Can deal damage to you and allies (6 sec cooldown)

  • X-Attack (Reap): Basic sweeping attack. Every enemy gives you a Soul Shard (up to 10) which increase special attack effectiveness. Correct timing will inflict Vulnerability.
  • Y-Attack (Shockwave): No damage, applies Daze to a number of enemies in front of you, spends all of your Soul Shards. Number of Soul Shards spent results in longer Daze time. Hit 5+ enemies to reduce cooldown (12 sec cooldown)
  • B-Attack (Whirlwind): Spin, giving you +100 Armor and damaging enemies. Spends all Soul Shards, and number of Soul Shards spent increases the duration of the spin. Hit 5+ enemies to reduce cooldown (28 sec cooldown)

Hand Mortar: Slow, powerful ranged weapon

  • X-Attack (Bouncing Betty): Fires a grenade which bounces and explodes after a few seconds, or on contact with enemy. Holding fire will increase the trajectory (.8 sec cooldown)
  • Y-Attack (Fire Lake): Fire a grenade which explodes on contact with the ground, creating a lake of fire which damages enemies and applies Cripple to enemies hit by the initial explosion. Lasts 8 sec. (12 sec cooldown)
  • B-Attack (Explosive Jump): Fires a grenade at your feet, launching you into the air. You knock back, damage and apply Vulnerability to enemies upon jumping and landing (8 sec cooldown)

Tome: Medium ranged weapon

  • X-Attack (Magic Missile): Fires projectiles, fire rate increases the longer it is held. May drop Arcane Power orbs which instantly recharge special attacks
  • Y-Attack (Dimension Wave): Turn into a wave of energy, inflicting Daze to all enemies in your path (12 sec cooldown)

Revolvers (Motorhead DLC): Long ranged, you can move and shoot at the same time

  • X-Attack (Barrage): Hold to fire, the final shot is a Double Shot which knocks back the target and inflicts Vulnerability. +25% damage against Crippled enemies
  • Y-Attack (Bullet Hell): Spin in a circle and spray bullets, each hit inflicts Cripple (10 sec cooldown)
  • B-Attack (Bullseye): Single target charged shot, at full charge, inflicts Cripple, Bleeding, Weakness and Daze (14 sec cooldown)

Weapon Properties:

  • Elder: Higher XP gain
  • Devastating: Higher damage
  • Inquisitor’s: Higher damage with full Overdrive Bar
  • Zealous: Higher Overdrive gain
  • Dancing: Higher attack Speed
  • Vicious: Higher crit. damage

  • Gilded: Higher selling value
  • Executioner’s: Damage increase while above 90% health
  • Piercing: Amor penetration
  • Cursed: Higher damage, less gold drops
  • Survivor’s: Damage increased while below 50% health
  • Of the Wolf: Chance to inflict Vulnerability

  • Of the Bear: Crit. hits knock back enemies (cooldown)
  • Of the Vulture: Gain health on overkill (cooldown

Consumables:

You have two consumable slots, and I strongly recommend one as a Health Potion and the other as an Ambrosia. These slots have a cooldown, and the cooldown is determined by the item used. You can switch items in those slots while they are cooling down, but it will not change the time it will take. It is worth noting if you wish to have both slots be Health Potions, simply buy more than 99 from the shop, they are VERY cheap. The consumables include:

  • Antidote (DLC): Restores 200 Health and removes one negative effect (+400 health if removed)
  • Aether Vial: Instantly fills overdrive meter
  • Lucky Rabbit’s Foot: Unlimited use, gives you +100% crit. chance for 5 sec.
  • Liquid Madness: Gives Brutality for 20 sec.
  • Adrenaline Shot: Gives Speed for 20 sec.
  • Barkskin Potion: +100 Armor and immunity to daze, interrupts, push effects for 20 sec
  • Vampire Blood: Gives 50% Life Steal for 45 sec.
  • Medkit/Greater Medkit/Superior Medkit: Unlimited use, restores 300/500/750 Health and removes one negative effect (+ 150/250/250 Health if removed)
  • Ambrosia: Restores all health and refreshes cooldowns of skills/Demon Powers
  • Flash Bombs: 300 Damage and applies Daze
  • Leech Bombs: 300 Damage and +100 health per enemy hit (up to 1000)
  • Frost Bombs: 300 Damage and applies Frost for 5 sec.
  • Fire Bombs: 500 Damage

Monsters:

  • Spiders: nothing to note overall, the most basic class of enemy
    • Mites: Small, green and insignificant. Can be killed by being stepped on.
    • Spider Hatchling: Green, mid-sized. Melee attacker. No particular strategy.
    • Frostcrawler: Blue, mid-sized. Ranged, shoot ice shards. No particular strategy.
    • Lava Creeper: Orange, mid-sized. Melee attacker, explodes upon death. Can be used to decimate other enemies. Do NOT get hit by its death blast
    • Spider Egg: Hatches into a Spider. Easier to kill in this form.
    • Icecrawler: Blue, large. Ranged ice attack, basically a beefier Frostcrawler.
    • Spider Nests: Infinitely spawn spiders of a certain breed. Focus your attacks on these first.
    • Gargantuan Spider: Large, purple. Has a slowly charged smash attack, and is easy to dodge. Engage at very close or very far range.
    • Spider Matron: Large, Green. Does not attack, but continuously lays Spider Eggs. Also spawns Mites upon death.
    • Bombardier Spider: Large, Blue. Ranged ice attack, but it is more of a bomb. Engage quickly and at close range.
    • Demon Spider: Large, Purple. Basically a Gargantuan Spider + a Jump attack. Attempt to engage at long range, attack at close range if it just used its jump attack.
  • Wraiths: Large ghost-like monsters. Leave behind a zone of status effect, dependent on the breed.
    • Forgotten King: Green. Has a pulse attack, used from long range. Best engaged from long range. Leaves Zone of Crippling
    • Ravenous Soul: Blue. Has a charge attack, its trajectory shown by a blue line. No strategy, just make sure to dodge. Leaves Zone of Frailty.
    • Spectral Binder: Tan. Spawns seeking projectiles. Best engaged from close range, from the side, so his projectiles must loop around to hit you. Leaves Zone of Crippling
    • Tortured Soul: Light Blue. Creates a funnel of AoE damage. Best engaged from a distance. Leaves Zone of Bleeding.
    • Reaper: Red. Attacks with decently ranged scythes, and hits HARD. Engage from a distance. Leaves Zone of Pestilence.
  • Undead: Skeletons, which have to be killed twice, unless killed with a lot of Overkill damage.
  • Skeleton: Melee attack. Weak, designed to overwhelm in groups. No strategy.
    • Pyromancer: Flaming Skeleton. Still weak, launches homing fire balls. No strategy.
    • Berserker: Sword-wielding. Decently weak, has a spinning attack and a slash attack. Always opens with the first. Best engaged from a distance.
    • Brute: Hammer-wielding. Hits EXTREMELY hard. Has a swing attack and a smash attack. Definitely engage at a distance, avoid getting hit at any cost.
    • Soldier: Sniper-wielding. Takes a few seconds for them to lock onto you. Bullets are fairly easy to dodge. Hit hard. Engage at close range, they have no melee.
    • Gravedigger: Large. Spawns lesser skeletons and chucks them at you. Once killed, all skeletons he spawned also die. Make a priority, also very durable.
    • Fool: Basically a nuisance. Lays curses on you, which go away upon death of the inflictor.
  • Essences: elemental, moving rocks. Split into three lesser Essences upon death.
  • Fire: Red. Launches fireballs from a distance, activates a flamethrower up close. Lesser essences divebomb you. Engage from a distance, the fireballs are easy to dodge
    • Rock: Brown. Launches rocks from a distance, activates a smash combo up close. Lesser essences charge attack. Engage close range, they can inflict a lot of distance damage and their melee is easy to dodge
    • Ice: White. Spawn icicles which impale you from below, or creates an ice path which deals DoT. Lesser essences launch ice bombs. No particular range is advantageous, but mid-long range is best.
    • Lightning: Light Blue. Create electrical fences between themselves, or hit you long range with lightning bolts. Lesser essences release small electric sparks. Best engaged a close range, they are decently frail.
    • Magic: Purple. Launch missiles at you from a distance, or a slow moving pulse close range. Hit pretty hard. Lesser essences have an AoE around them, and do not attack. Best engaged at VERY long range, in order to avoid projectiles.
    • Plague: Green. Release tons of rats which act like DoT, or launch exploding toxic bombs. Lesser essences have an AoE, but don't attack. Best engaged from long range.
  • Gargoyles: Decently standard, can turn into stone form, where they are invincible, but cannot move or attack.
    • Lesser Gargoyle: Melee attack, no strategy in particular.
    • Grotesque: Ranged, use a pulse to attack. Distance is best.
    • Frostfall Gargoyles: Larger, launches projectiles, or rains hail on you. Range works best.
    • Flame Sentinel: Cannot move, only activates at close range. Spins around with a flamethrower.
    • Frost Sentinel: Cannot move, only activates at close range. Launches a high damaging frost ball every few seconds.
    • Shard Sentinel: Cannot move, only activates at close range. Most deadly sentinel. Launches a barrage of shards every few seconds.
    • Dark Knight: Large, has a diving attack, and a shockwave attack. Both hurt a lot. Best to use melee, and roll away as they attack, then go back in for more melee.
  • Thralls: Small class, only two breeds. Both are melee.
    • Vampire Thrall: Weak, melee attackers. Can disappear and reappear in order to get a surprise advantage.
    • Thrall Hulk: Strong, resilient melee attackers. Easily one of the deadliest enemies in the game. Fight slow, until they lose about 50% of their health, at which point they power up and move at about triple their original speed. Range is ideal, but not entirely realistic, they are too fast. Have a heavy hitter ready when they charge at you.
  • Vampires: Most advanced enemies in the game. All can disappear and reappear at will. Sometimes to run, sometimes to get an advantage.
    • Lurker: Blue. Uses Stealth to get close to you, then melees you, or launches a projectile which eventually splits into 3 homing projectiles. Mid-range is the best you'll get.
    • Knight: Green. Slash attacks, has a pull attack which stuns you. Can kill you very fast. Try to engage at a distance.Count: Red. Attacks by making you lose health in the form of blood orbs, which you can pick up for a percentage of the health lost. They just mess with you.
    • King: Orange. Launches fire balls from a distance, close range is best.
    • Acolyte: Uses sunray-like beams to attack you from a distance. Very long or very close range works well.

Miscellaneous Useful Information:

  • Bounties: Optional quests which involve you hunting down epic beasts in pre-designated areas. It gives you a chest of loot. It is timed, but it has a massive timer: 5+ days.
  • Treasure hunt: Same as above but you pick up pieces of a map. Cannot pick up a piece if enemies are present.
  • Rarity Scale: Grey (common)=>Green(uncommon)=>Yellow(rare)=>Purple(legendary)
  • Transmuting: Unlocked at level 16. Allows you to combine weapons/cards etc. to obtain better equipment. There are also Power Stones you can obtain which will add prefixes/suffixes to weapons or Destiny Cards or increase the effects if the item already has one. The biggest uses I found for it were: Combining chests to reach legendary status (27 grey rarity => 1 legendary)
  • Randomly obtaining legendary weapons: You can combine three weapons of the same rarity and have a chance of receiving a weapon of higher rarity. Thus if you continue combining yellow weaponry, you will obtain a purple (legendary) occasionally
  • Upgrading: You can place an item into the main slot (X) and then combine other items (A) into, making it more powerful. You can do this on everything except Consumables and Destiny Cards (but you can upgrade the Divine/Wicked prefix)
  • Increasing rarity of Destiny Cards: You can combine 3 of cards of the same type and rarity to get one card of the same type with a higher rarity. This only works until they reach Rare or Legendary, depending on the card.

Useful Tips

  • Always have something equipped in your slots when available.
  • Use your Demon Powers, you will lose them outside of battle (unless your outfit prevents it).
  • Note that many challenges will be easier at higher levels or better gear, especially those related to bosses.
  • Level cap is 50 (60 with DLC). After you hit the cap, you will continue to level up, but you will only receive chests after that point.
  • I recommend selling all weapons you do not need and any duplicate Destiny Cards. You can easily rack up millions doing this. Keep demon powers, as you will need them to transmute for a later achievement
  • If you are on Hard, the first 30 minutes or so will be hell, just push through it, until you level up a few times, it will get substantially easier.
  • Dodging is your best friend. Jumping is semi-useful, but enemies can still hit you easily and if you are close to an exit of the map, you may get sucked into another area on accident.
  • Some of the challenges are ridiculous. Don’t give up, they are doable, they just take strategy and resourcefulness.

Some things to keep an eye out for on your playthrough (I will put the achievements related at the end of the walk through):

  • Divine Destiny Cards (x6)
  • Keep ALL demon powers
  • Keep one copy of each type of weapon
  • Keep one copy of each legendary weapon (optional)
  • Fool Destiny Cards (x10, each has a different joke on it, prefix has no effect)
  • One copy of the highest rarity (usually purple) of each type of Destiny Card

You will want to unlock every location as you come across them, done so by walking directly up to the map exit. Undiscovered areas will have the gateway on the map filled with white, while discovered areas have no filling.

Part 1: Intro

The City Gates Pt 1

Challenges: N/A

Secrets: N/A

As you start the game there will be a cutscene which explains the back story of the game. Basically, you want to find your friend Adrien, a fellow hunter. When you gain control, you will be walked through a closed course explaining the basic controls, and fighting the basic enemy class in the game, spiders. They should not be any problem. After you learn how to wall jump (you can it twice), you’ll be introduced to The Voice. He’s here to stay (unfortunately) regardless of if you listen to him. After that, if you head away from the checkpoint, you can find some spider eggs that will hatch if not killed quickly and a chest you can wall jump to. Go to the bridge, then turn right, between the fence and the building and you will find another chest. After that, cross the bridge. When you reach the gate, you will have to head around to the left and enter the next area, The Fallen Keep.

The Fallen Keep

Challenges: N/A

Secrets: N/A

In this building, you will be taught about combat and consumables. The Voice will ask you to open a box for him. Surprise: skeletons. Mostly designed to overwhelm. You will have to kill them twice, unless you Overkill them (it will say by the damage above them). You’ll get a shotgun afterwards. The dummies are a good place to practice your Split-Timed Shots. You basically just press X once per shot and immediately after it cools down. This, if done correctly will guarantee a Vulnerable effect, which can be effective in defeating bigger enemies from long range. It is signified by a red crosshair beneath the target. Proceed to the next area.

The City Gates Pt 2

In this first courtyard you will fight about 13 spiders. With your shotgun equipped, continuously spam the special Y attack (the Aimed Shot). Every time you kill an enemy with the shot gun this ability recharges instantly. Get 10 consecutive shots in 3 seconds (it’s not very hard, just mash Y), You will unlock: Gunslinger. After they are all dead, climb up the wooden platforms on the east side of the area and go around the right wall and get the chest. Jump down, then proceed to the next area.

Part 2: Finding Adrian

Now you will choose one outfit to better play your playing style, I recommend the Cavalier’s outfit. It gains you Overdrive overtime, and thus does not decay outside of battle. Plus it is useful for some upcoming challenges. After that, you will select your difficulty. Casual is the equivalent of easy, Normal has the option of Hexes at level 12 and Hard has permanently active Hexes. If you pick Hard, you may go back to Normal, but this is irreversible. If you pick Casual or Normal, you can switch between the two freely. Then you will choose if you want your character to be Hardcore or not. There is no major difference, except with Hardcore, you do not share stashes. Once you die you lose your Hardcore status.

Castle Zagore

This is the main base area of the game. On the left side, you have Damian, who will sell you consumables and weaponry. I recommend maxing out your Health Potions as soon as possible, remember to sell anything you won’t need. Keep an eye out when returning to the Castle for Ambrosia and Aether Vials, they will be useful for challenges. To the far right there is Casimir who will later sell you Destiny Cards. You will see by Damian the Transmutation device, which will unlock at level 16. Go talk to the Queen in the far chamber. Then head the map (the big table) and go the Royal Gardens. If you go to the dummies in the upper areas of the castle, you can unlock Steady Hand Vic by getting 25 consecutive split timed attacks.

Challenges (note that restarting the area will respawn all enemies if you miss one):

  • Use 10 Demon Powers: may be semi difficult without the outfit I specified. There are a couple yellow shrines in the area which will fill your overdrive instantly. As you fight through the area you may be able to do it without the outfit I specified. Simply activate 10 demon powers. You will also get a full Overdrive bar from levelling up.
  • Slay Spider Eggs (x25): This one is easy to miss. Whenever you find eggs, make them your prime target. Once you kill 25, you’ll have the challenge. There are plenty scattered throughout the area. You just have to kill them before they hatch.
  • Slay all Spider Nests in the Labyrinth: The Labyrinth is located in the South-Eastern part of the map, and there are 5 spider nests which you have to kill.
  • Slay Argus the Dreaded Mage: Located in the North-West part of the map, After you cross the bridge go to your left and go up one flight of stairs. Then go to your right and you will find Argus
  • Slay the Chessmaster: Located in the South-West part of the map, directly across from the hedge maze

Secrets: 3 (Note that I will be specifying their locations by landmarks on the map, found by clicking RS)

1: Located inside a closed-off section in the middle of the hedge maze

2: From the bridge, turn South and ascend the two flights of stairs. Then jump into the garden to your right. Jump down a tier to the north, and you will find the chest.

3: After you cross the bridge, the chest will be inside one of the stone temples on your left side.

If you’re careful or you don’t mind dying, and you don’t use any consumables, you will unlock Abstinence Kills.

If you completed all five challenges, you will unlock: The Five Trials.

  • Overkill Skeletons (15): If you use the Aimed Shot on the shot gun, this should be no problem.
  • Slay Monsters with Hammer (30): Using a hammer may also be effective for the previous challenge.
  • Find Secrets (2): Described Below
  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage (70): These suck, especially on Hard. Use a shotgun to kill enemies from a distance, this takes a bit of practice and luck, because of the Wraiths. Watch out for the champion skeleton who knows Meteor as well. For this one, the Diamond Demon power will come in handy, as it protects you from damage.

Secrets: 2

1: After you reach the 2nd to last platform, you should notice a hole in the wall the West, which you can jump through and find the chest.

2: On the final platform, double wall jump off the large stone pillar to the north to land on a elevated section with the other chest.

Befouled Tomb

Challenges:

  • Slay Monsters with Ranged Attacks (50): Just use the shot gun to kill 50 enemies. I recommend pairing this with the ‘No Damage” challenge
  • Find Secrets (2): Described Below
  • Slay Monsters without Using Potions (80): You can die if necessary.
  • Slay Monsters within 6 min (80): This is plenty of time to complete this, shouldn't be hard at all
  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage (50): Again. This one isn’t as bad, just be careful of the Forgotten King's pulse; they can hit you from long range. I suggest taking the stairs up to the left, killing those Pyromancers and then making your way to the middle area with two shrines. There should be enough enemies for you to do it

Secrets: 2

1: From the start, go up the stairs to your left, and there will be a hole in the wall, which you can jump through to find a chest in the corner of the next room.

2: From the start, go up the stairs to the right and at the end of this path jump through the cloudy-looking wall and you will find the other chest

Royal Crypt

Challenges:

  • Slay 5 Monsters with a Single Attack or Demon Power: Easily done with the scythe’s spin attack, hammer's jump-smash attack, Meteor, or Sunray. There is an area way in the North full of Skeletons that makes this pretty easy.
  • Slay Ravenous Souls (3): Blue colored Wraith, there are more than 3 in the area.
  • Awaken the Restless Dead (7): They are in sarcophagi that you open with A and kill them. There are more than 7 in the area.
  • Find Secrets (3): Described below
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min (50): Fairly easy, just make your way to the first large room

Secrets: 3

1: Take the first left you can, and proceed all the way to the checkpoint. Turn around and hug the left wall until you reach a staircase. Go up, then wall jump onto the next platform, where you will find the first chest.

2: Head to the map exit in the middle of the area. Head into the passage on the East of this room and there will be a hole in the Southern wall, through which you will find a chest.

3: Follow the passage from the previous secret all the way to the East until you hit a wall. Jump down to your right and follow the path to the final secret.

Weeping Halls

Challenges:

  • Slay Monsters with Rapier (40): Most effective if you use the Y-charge attack to run through groups of skeletons,
  • Find Secrets (3): Described below
  • Slay Undead Dancers (8): All are located near secret 3.
  • Slay Spectral Binders with Hammer (4): All are located on the main path. It is best to weaken them with another weapon, then finish them off with the hammer.
  • Slay monsters without Potions and Demon Powers: You can die if necessary.

Secrets: 3

1: After the first turn, you will find some stairs leading to the north to the chest.

2: In the room which contains the 3rd turn, you can smash some crates in the North-West to find a chest.

3: When you reach the hole in the broken wall which you must go through, turn to the left first and go down the stairs to find the 3rd chest, along with the Undead Dancers.

Continue through the hole in the wall, follow the path, use the portal, and you will fight Adrien.

Boss Fight: Adrien

He’s easy. He just follows you around and takes a swipe at you with his sword if you stand still. Sometimes he will spawn totems which will drain your health and must be destroyed. Sometimes he will perform an area attack in which beams of light shoot from the sky. I recommend using the shotgun to try and take a shot, then immediately roll away, slowly whittling his health down. After he gets about -50% health, he will summon a few skeletons, he’ll do it again later too. Once he is dead, return to the HUB.

At this point you should probably should have also gotten or just about gotten the following achievements:

  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage or Using Demon Powers: Take your time, make them fight on your terms by forcing them to fight in the corridors. Always keep them on one side of you. It isn’t too hard. It is often easier to try to avoid the Champion Tortured Soul at the beginning, unless you can kill him fast enough to avoid taking damage.

Secrets: 2

Challenges:

  • Slay the Archivist in 45 sec without Demon Powers or Potions: Just run past all the enemies and start assaulting the Archivist. He's hard to miss, since he blocks your path
  • Slay Monsters in 4 min with Hex of Tenacity(50)
  • Slay Monsters with 3 Active Hexes (70)
  • Overkill Wraiths: I recommend weakening a Wraith to about 5-10% health, then using a bomb to finish them. You could also use the hammers jump attack. If you die in the last Wraith battle (with like 10 of them) it will respawn them all, so you have pretty much infinite chances
  • Slay the Screeching Calamity within 6 min: You basically have to finish the large Wraith fight, mentioned above, within 6 minutes. Once again I recommend running past all of the other enemies

Secrets: 1

1: After you fight the first Champion reaper, there is a bookshelf to your left. Press A next to the candle on the right side of the bookshelf to create a gap you can jump through. In here is the chest.

  • Slay Spider Nests (10)

  • Find Secrets (2): See below
  • Slay Spiders with Melee Attacks (500): Seems like a lot, but it's not. If it really comes down to it, if you die in the Broodmother fight, it will respawn all the spiders in that lower area

1: When you reach the area with the buildings, head up into the second level, and wall jump off a pillar, then use the next pillar to wall jump across the gap. Over here is a chest behind the large rock.

2: On the South side of the platform where you fight the Broodmother is a chest.

Boss Fight: Mordra The Broodmother

Hope you like spiders! The trick to this fight is to damage the Broodmother as little as possible, and attempt to clear out all of the eggs/spiders. The reason for this, is once the Broodmother loses a sufficient amount of health, two or three Champion Gargantuan Spiders will spawn, and they know Pull (Demon Power). If you get hit by a Pull attack, and you are surrounded by enemies, you're almost guaranteed to die within seconds. Once all the spiders/spider eggs are destroyed, you shouldn't have too hard of time with the Broodmother and her Champions. Be wary of the Champions, nonetheless, because a Pull attack still can have a pretty high chance of killing you.

After a ways into the fight, he will start spawning Champion Wraiths of different type to attack. Upon killing one, Apocalypse will become stunned for several seconds. 3: In the room to the right of the exit.

The Gauntlet

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (2): Described below
  • Reach the End of the Corridor within 30 sec without Taking Any Damage or Using Demon Powers: This is the worst of all the challenges, in my opinion. It's not skill based in any way, just on luck and the ability to spam buttons. You need a Rapier. You have to use the Y dash attack to get yourself around the first corner, use an Ambrosia to refresh the cooldown and then use the Y dash attack again to reach the end. The problem is that the dash will not get you far enough, so you have to walk into the corridor a bit to make it. The luck is all based on when the Sentinels activate. Sometimes it's before you even start the hallway (you won't make it) or when you reach the corner (If you still have a Y dash, you will make it).
  • Slay Cadavros without Using Potions, Shrines or Demon Powers
  • Slay Shard Sentinels with Ranged Attacks (6)
  • Slay Monsters within 1 min and 30 sec with Hex of Tyranny, Hex of Tenacity and Hex of Time (20)

1: Located in the room the opposite of the room Cadavros is in, you can walk through the wall. This is a great place to camp and kill Cadavros with a Mortar.

2: Double wall jump into the room on your right after the first turn, just as you enter the corridor.

By now you should've finished all available levels and have 165 stars and 97 secrets

Head to the Royal Crypt

Part 4: The End

Royal Crypt:

Just head to the very back, the map will guide you.

Well of Worlds

  • Slay Monsters without Using Potions or Demon Powers (100)
  • Slay Monsters with a Single Hit (50)

Secrets: 1

1. After the first bridge, you can wall jump up to the platform above your head to the right find a chest

2. After the second bridge, you can find the next chest by going under the collapsed stone pillar directly in front of you.

3. The final chest is located at the very end of the pathway, you will have to jump over the edge, but a platform will be created to catch you.

Demon World

  • Find Secrets (2): Described below
  • Slay Seth: Located through the portal near secret 1

  • Slay Wa-Lee the Solicitor with Hex of Malice, Hex of Time and Hex of Pain

Secrets: 2

1: On the second platform, you can follow a path to the right, which will form as you go along. After you reach the next platform, jump up some rocks to reach a chest near a teleporter.

2: On the platform before you jump down to the largest one, head to the right and follow the path. Wall jump onto a rock with a teleporter and go through it to find the chest.

Boss Fight: Wa-Lee the Solicitor

Fairly easy boss, just takes some longevity. He has various Demon Powers and will spawn Demon Seeds a couple times. I'm not going to go into detail much, because I don't feel it's necessary for this boss. The waves of enemies he will spawn are:

Wave 1: Demon Seeds: Lesser Essences (x2)

Wave 2: Demon Seeds: Spiders (x3)

Wave 3: Champion Essences of Plague (x3)

The Solicitor

3: After you reach the dining hall, you can go out the doors to the West and follow this area until you can find a chest at a dead end to your right.\

Sanctum Sanctorum

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (3)
  • Slay Miscreations with Shotgun (30): These are the monsters in the tanks by the South-Eastern Arena. To spawn them, you have to go up to the green buttons and press A and it will spawn 4-8 enemies per button.
  • Slay Vampiric Totems with Hand Mortar (12)
  • Slay Lord Gabriel with 3 Active Hexes
  • Slay Lord Gabriel without Dying and without Using Shrines

Boss Fight: Lord Gabriel

Finally, it's almost over. Gabriel has three phases:

Phase 1: Takes place in a single arena, Gabriel will shoot homing projectiles at you mostly. Occasionally he will also spawn Vampiric Totems which slowly drain you of health. This is mostly a survival fight

Phase 2: Gabriel is undamageable. You must kill Aether Guardians and break the Aether Traps (x3) in order to enter phase 3

Phase 3: Same as Phase 1, but after you break his Totems, he releases three consecutive shockwave blasts, which you can jump easily because they are slow moving

Once he is dead, we can go find the secrets

1: From the Westernmost arena, head South and the chest will be on a raised platform with some bookshelves

2: To the far West of the area with all of the Monsters in tanks

3: Directly across the rock bridge to the North-West of the Northernmost arena

Master Crafter

Transmute a perfect weapon

Master Crafter
3 guidesOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeLevelShop

This one takes a bit of work. You first need a Legendary Weapon (purple). Then go to the Transmutation station in the HUB. Put the legendary item as the base (using X). Now on the right side, you will see 4 green bars, all of which need to be filled. The first bar is filled by combining your Legendary weapon with three others. You want the one you are upgrading to be in the X slot. Then fill the lower three spots (A button) with whatever Legendary items you are sacrificing. The second bar requires sets of three purple Destiny Cards, the best way to get them is through Casimir. The third and fourth bar require Demon Powers, and specific kinds, represented by icons to the left of the bars. They can be of any rarity, so long as they are the right Power. I will include the best grinding locations for each power below. Once each bar is completely filled, you will get the achievement.

Best (my opinion) Farming Locations for Demon Powers:

  • Berserk Aura: Lifeless House, 2nd Floor. Champion Flame Sentinel.
  • Blink: Mausoleum of Bones. From the start, ignore Vail, head up all the flights of stairs to the left of the Health Shrine. Mili (Champion Undead Berserker).
  • Boomerang: Royal Gardens. Located in the North-Eastern corner of the maze. Champion Frostcrawler.
  • Dark Mist: The Cessways. Located immediately to your left, Champion Vampire Lurker.
  • Diamond: Watchtower Ruins, first large room. Champion Tortured Soul.
  • Sanguine Aura: Royal Gardens. Western part of the area. Chessmaster (Champion Gargantuan Spider).
  • Meteor: Sepulcher of the Damned. At the top of the first set of steps. Champion Skeleton.
  • Pull: Lifeless House. First room. The Cook (Champion Undead Brute).
  • Purging Flame: Defiled Chapel. First hallway. Champion Reaper.
  • Shockwave: High Quarter. End of the area, Mystery of the Pumpkin. Mo the Annoying (Champion Undead Berserker).
  • Sunray: Cemetery Grounds (x2 by each other). From the start, keep to the far left of the area. By a tree, there are 3 Forgotten Kings. Kill them and two Champion Gargoyles will spawn.
  • Time Bubble: Befouled Tomb. Up the stairs to the left of the start. Champion Undead Pyromancer.

In order to get this achievement, you must have 4 active players. You do NOT have to be in the same area at the same time. I was the only one who fought Adrian and I still got it. The others could even be in the Castle, two of mine were. Overall, you could likely join a random game and with a bit of luck, get this without a coordinated group. All players must be able to access the Weeping Halls, however.

Been There, Done That

Complete all elite challenges in Zagoravia

Been There, Done That
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

I strongly recommend doing these challenges on Normal/Casual if possible because they can be immensely difficult on Hard. Anyway, you will unlock the ability to do elite challenges after you beat Lord Gabriel. You do NOT have to complete all normal challenges first. We will go through the locations starting at the bottom-right of the map and working our way to the top. Once again, I will not describe a lot of the common sense challenges, unless there is something I feel is necessary to mention, because a lot of this depends on your personal gaming style.

The Tangle:

  • Slay Champions with A Single Hit: Definitely Casual. Roll for as much damage as you can, use Berserk Aura and use the Hammer’s Jump attack.
  • Slay Rachnoss the Host with 2 min: Again, Casual. If you roll for high damage, use the bomb spiders to help destroy the columns, and in the second wave of enemies, use the bomb spiders to hurt Rachnoss you shouldn’t have too much of a problem.
  • Slay Rachnoss the Host while He is Affected by Brutality with Hex of Tenacity: When Rachnoss is close to dying, activate the Berserk Aura Demon Power and kill him while it is active.
  • Slay Rachnoss the Host without Using Demon Powers or Shrines with Hex of Malice: Potions are allowed so you at least can heal yourself that way.
  • Slay Rachnoss with 5 Active Hexes

Frostteeth Grotto:

  • Slay Essences of Plague Affected by Daze: There are three, so you can miss one. The easiest way to do this is lower their health, stun them with the Scythes Y-attack and then kill them as before the stun wears off.
  • Slay Monsters without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (30)
  • Slay Essences within 3 min (7)
  • Slay the Undead Gravedigger without Using Potions or Demon Powers and without Dying: Ignore all of the enemies until you reach the final area, where you will have to kill 3 Essences in order to spawn the Gravedigger.
  • Slay Undead Soldiers without Taking Damage (10): Use the Shotgun for this. Ignore all enemies except the Soldiers. Kill the three in the first area, this is the hardest part, because of the Essences of Ice. Move on, and once the Essence of Rock spawns, kill the four soldiers by him. The next soldier is located on the downward slope in the back, and the last ones are located on the back of the very last platform. There are 11 in total. This just takes some practice.

Watchtower Ruins:

  • Slay Undead Pyromancers with Demon Powers without Dying (10)
  • Slay Undead Brutes with a Single Hit with Hex of Tenacity and Hex of Time Active (2): There are four in total, so a mistake is okay.
  • Slay Monsters That Are Affected by Brutality Without Dying (10)
  • Slay Monsters within 45 sec without Taking Damage (30): Go through the area but do NOT try to kill the Champion Tortured Soul, just the enemies around him. The hard part is avoiding the Champion’s attacks, he has very good range.
  • Slay Champions within 45 Seconds with 5 Active Hexes (2): There are only two Champions, a Tortured Soul (First Room) and Bane (Second Room). The Tortured Soul is the hardest to kill in this time frame, so I suggest ignoring him at first and going for Bane first.

The Hunting Grounds:

  • Slay Essences with Hand Mortar without Dying (10)
  • Slay Champions Affected by Daze (3): Again, I’ve found the easiest way to do this is with the Scythe’s Y-Attack. There are more than 3 so this shouldn’t be too bad.
  • Slay Monsters without Dying and without Using Potions with Hex of Malice Active (100): Just find as many ways to heal/prevent damage to yourself without relying on Potions or Shrines (because there aren’t many).
  • Slay Monsters with Demon Powers while Hex of Tenacity is Active (50)
  • Slay Wraiths with 5 Active Hexes (6)

Widow’s Mine:

  • Slay Monsters without Dying with Hex on Tyranny Active (50)
  • Slay Champions with Demon Powers without Dying (3)
  • Slay Wraiths Affected by Daze (4)
  • Slay Monsters within 1 min with Hex of Malice and Hex of Time Active (20): Ignore the first Champion Reaper, he will take too much of your time.
  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage and without Using Demon Powers (20): Leave the first Undead Brute alive so the Champion Reaper doesn’t Spawn. If you do this, you really should have no problem with the challenge.

The Devil’s Throat:

  • Slay Essences with Bombardier Spider’s Attacks with Hex of Tyranny Active (3)
  • Slay Essences with Lava Creeper Death-Blasts with Hex of Malice (3)
  • Slay Spiders within 1 min with Hex of Malice and Hex of Time Active (40): The Spider Eggs count for this challenge, you don’t have to wait for them to hatch.
  • Slay Essences without Dying and without Using Potions or Shrines (5)
  • Slay Chromatic Essences without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (30)

Befouled Tomb:

  • Slay Monsters with Scythe with 5 Active Hexes (80)
  • Slay Forgotten Kings Affected by Daze (3)
  • Slay 20 Monsters with a Single Attack or Demon Power without Taking Damage
  • Overkill Skeletons with Shotgun within 30 sec (35): Go to the area after the shrines and use the B-Attack of the shotgun to kill as many as you can with a single shot, then use the Y-Attack to finish the rest of your 35 off.
  • Slay Undead Pyromancers without Taking Damage within 1 min (12): Go up the stairs to your left. Kill these 5. Go up the other set of stairs, kill the Forgotten King, the kill these 3. Jump down, and start working your way through the large area of enemies, in which plenty of remaining Pyromancers will spawn. The trick is doing this fast enough.

Weeping Halls:

  • Slay Monsters without Dying and without Using Demon Powers, Potions, or Shrines (100)
  • Slay Monsters while You Are Affected by Frailty (15): In order to do this, you have to get one of the Ravenous Souls (Blue Wraith) to create a Zone of Frailty and then kill enemies while you stand inside of it.
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min (50)
  • Slay Adrian the Fallen with 5 Active Hexes
  • Slay Adrian the Fallen without Using Potions or Shrines

The Royal Crypt:

  • Slay Wraiths with 5 Active Hexes (10): The real challenge here is finding them all
  • Slay Monsters while Above 80% Health with Melee Attacks (80)
  • Slay Champions Affected by Cripple (2): I suggest using the Hand Mortar’s Y-Attack to Cripple Them, however, you could also use the Shockwave Demon Power
  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage and without Using Demon Powers (80): The trick is watching out for the Undead Berserkers, about everything else can be killed quickly enough
  • Slay Undead Brutes within 2 min without dying (5)

Sepulcher of the Damned:

  • Slay Ravenous Souls with Bombs (7)
  • Overkill Monsters with Hand Mortar without Dying (60)
  • Slay Monsters within 1 min 30 sec with Hex of Malice Active (80)
  • Slay Monsters with Sword without Taking Damage or Using Demon Powers (35): The trick to this is only attempting to kill skeletons with for this. Kill the Wraiths and/or ranged skeletons with something else. You’ll also pretty much only want to use Y- and B-Attacks for this, not the standard X-attack, because it leaves you open to damage.
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min with 5 Active Hexes (80)

The Well of Worlds:

  • Slay Monsters Affected by Daze without Dying (30)
  • Overkill Skeletons with Shotgun without Dying (50)
  • Overkill Essences of Flame without Dying with Hex of Tyranny Active (5): The key here is being able to single out the Essences with your attacks. I recommend the Hand Mortars B-Attack.
  • Slay Dark Knights with Demon Powers with Hex of Malice and Hex of Pain Active (3): The trick to this and the next challenge is to wait to kill all of the enemies near the portal until the portal is fully active, other enemies will just continue to spawn. If you end up missing one, you can die, and it will respawn all three of them.
  • Slay Dark Knights without Dying and without Using Potions or Demon Powers (3)

Demon World:

  • Slay Monsters Spawn by Other Monsters without Dying with Hex of Tyranny Active (80): It just wants you to kill monsters that have been spawn from Demon Seeds. I recommend using Seeds which spawn Spiders or Lesser Essences for this since they aren’t hard to kill.
  • Slay Champions without Dying and without Using Demon Powers or Potions with Hex of Malice and Hex of Time (7): Three of the seven are found during the fight with The Solicitor. Three are in secret areas (see the main walkthrough for locations) and one is on the path to The Solicitor. I suggest ignoring all enemies and strictly go for the Champions.
  • Slay Demon Seeds with 5 Active Hexes without Dying (16): Again, 5 are in the fight with The Solicitor, and 3 are in secret areas. The others are all in the path to The Solicitor.
  • Slay Wa-Lee The Solicitor with 4 Active Hexes
  • Slay Wa-Lee The Solicitor with 5 Active Hexes

Den of the Broodmother:

  • Slay Spiders Affected By Weakness (150): The easiest way to do this is just to kill enemies with the Dark Mist Demon Power
  • Slay Spiders without Taking Damage and without Using Demon Powers (100)
  • Slay Spider Nests with Bombs without Dying (8)
  • Slay Gargantuan Spiders with Lava Blasts without Dying (5)
  • Slay Mordra the Broodmother with 5 Active Hexes

The Royal Gardens:

  • Slay Monsters with Demon Powers without Dying (50)
  • Slay Champions without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (4)
  • Overkill Monsters with Hand Mortar and Hex of Tenacity Active (50): The B-Attack is your best friend here
  • Slay Monsters within 3 min without Using Potions (180): Head to the maze, that is the most heavily enemy-dense areas.
  • Slay Spider Nests Affected by Vulnerability (8): The best way to do this is weaken them, then use the Hand Mortar’s B-Attack to finish them off, as it inflicts Vulnerability 100% of the time

The High Quarter:

  • Overkill Undead Soldiers without Dying and with Hex of Pain and Hex of Time Active (20)
  • Slay Sentinels without Dying and without Using Potions or Shrines (10)
  • Slay Essences of Magic Affected by Vulnerability with Scythe (8): This ranks up there in the most frustrating challenges. I’ve found the most reliable way to do this is to use Split-timed Shotgun attacks to lower their health/inflict Vulnerability and then activate Berserk Aura and hit them with a single Scythe attack. If they don’t die, let them kill you so they get all their health back. There are only 9 in total, so you can only make one mistake.
  • Slay Lesser Gargoyles with Hand Mortar within 3 min with Hex of Malice Active (30)
  • Solve the Mystery of the Haunted Pumpkin with 5 Active Hexes

Cemetery Grounds:

  • Slay Gargoyles without Dying and without Using Potions with Hex of Malice Active (100)
  • Slay Wraiths with Demon Powers with Hex of Time Active (10)
  • Slay Monsters Affected by Bleeding (50): Use the Rapiers B-Attack to cause bleeding to an enemy and then kill them before it wears off
  • Slay Spite of Ignus with a Ranged Attack with 5 Active Hexes: He is located along the Western wall of the area at about the middle of the map. He is a Champion Reaper.
  • Slay Trust Betrayed with Melee Attack with 5 Active Hexes: He is located on the far South-East part of the Map, near one of the secrets. He is a Champion Essences of Fire.

Infested Burrow:

  • Slay Monsters Affected by Daze without Dying (20)
  • Slay Monsters with Bombardier Spider’s Attack (50)
  • Slay Monsters with Bombs without Dying and without Using Potions or Shrines (40)
  • Slay Demon Spiders within 3 min with Hex of Malice and Hex of Time Active (4)
  • Slay Monsters with 5 Active Hexes (70)

Deadlight Quarry:

  • Slay Monsters with Hammer while Hex of Tenacity is Active without Dying (100)
  • Slay Monsters while You Are Affected by Brutality without Dying (100): I recommend using Berserk Aura as much as possible.
  • Slay Sentinels with Melee Attacks with 5 Active Hexes (15): You can die for this one, so you don’t have to try super hard.
  • Slay Essences within 3 min (10)
  • Slay Monsters without Using Demon Powers, Shrines or Potions (50): You can die for this one as well, although it shouldn’t really be necessary

Forlorn Chateau:

  • Slay Monsters Affected by Electrocuted with Shotgun (30): Quick-shoot an enemy with the Lightning Gun, and then switch to the Shotgun and kill them while they are still affected by the Electrocution
  • Overkill Monsters with the Rapier with a Single Hit (20): Do a few Y-Attack charges with Brutality in the room full of Skeletons and you should get this pretty easy
  • Slay Monsters Affected by Brutality without Dying (30)
  • Slay Monsters with 5 Active Hexes without Dying (80): There are 35 enemies on the first floor, although I do not recommend killing them all, the Sentinels can inflict a lot of damage
  • Slay Vampires within 4 min without Taking Damage (2): There are only 2 Vampires in this building. In the back. The best way to do this is not to fight every single enemy. Don’t kill any enemies on the first floor. Start by going around the Flame Sentinel to the right. Jump over the table so you don’t get hit by the Brute, then double wall jump so that you end up in the room with the teleporter. Go into it. On the second floor, kill all the enemies in the first room, then head over to the left from where you entered. Use the bookshelf closest to the far wall to wall jump into the small room with the chest. This is the hardest part: you will want to position yourself in this small room so that you can shoot your Hand Mortar into the doorway of the next room. Let the enemies come to you and start spamming the attack. The tricky part is when the Essence of Magic spawns. I recommend stunning him with the Scythe’s Y-Attack then using the Spin Attack to hopefully kill him before he hits you. Clear out the remaining enemies and head into the back room where the two Vampires will spawn. Kill them as fast as possible to avoid being hit. This challenge is HARD, and it will take several tries. I strongly recommend casual for this challenge.

Forlorn Catacombs:

  • Slay Enemies in a Single Hit without Dying (10)
  • Slay Wraiths with Demon Powers without Dying (5)
  • Slay Wraiths with Bombs with Hex of Tenacity Active (5)
  • Slay Essences of Magic without Taking Damage and without Using Demon Powers (3): Get ready for some frustration cause this one’s dumb. There are two in the initial room after you kill the Essence of Plague and one down the stairs to the left. I recommend using the Hand Mortar for this because you can use the Y-Attack to slow down the Lesser Essences, which are the real problem here because of their wide AoE circle.
  • Slay Eisen the Youngest with 5 Active Hexes

The Mausoleum of Bones:

  • Slay Skeletons within 4 min (200)
  • Slay Vail the Immortal with Bombs: Note that this only counts when he is officially dead, you must destroy his Phylactery first.
  • Slay Vail the Immortal within 2 min with Demon Powers: Same as above, use the same method as the original walkthrough to beat his Phylactery quickly.
  • Slay Vail the Immortal without Using Potions or Shrines with Hex of Malice Active: If you are having problems, you can kill most of the enemies and die, and they will not respawn. Anything on the same level as his Phylactery will respawn though.
  • Slay Vail the Immortal with 4 Active Hexes while Above 50% Health: I recommend skipping either the Hex of Malice or Hex of Tenacity.

The Onion Quarter:

  • Slay Skeletons with Demon Powers without Dying (75)
  • Slay Monsters within 3 min (100)
  • Slay Wraiths within 1 min 30 sec with Hex of Malice (6): You can find 6 on the other side of the bridge to the right of the start
  • Slay Monsters with 5 Active Hexes without Dying (200)
  • Slay Demon Spider without Dying and without Using Potions (1)

The Hollows:

  • Slay Monsters while You are Affected by Brutality (40)
  • Slay Monsters Affected by Vulnerability with Hex of Tenacity Active (50): I recommend using the Hand Mortar’s B-Attack for this because it is high damage and inflicts Vulnerability every time.
  • Slay Champions within 3 min (3): There are actually 6, but 4 of them spawn at the very end of the path before you jump down to where you entered the area.
  • Slay Monsters without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (100)
  • Slay Monsters within 4 min without Using Potions or Shrines (100): You can die for this, but if you do you will likely not make it in time.

The Whispering Burrows:

  • Slay Essences of Plague Affected by Weakness (4): Weaken the Essences with a weapon and then use the Dark Mist Demon Power to finish them off.
  • Slay Essences of Ice Affected by Frost (3): I’ve found the most reliable way to inflict the Frost status effect is with Frost Bombs. Weaken the Essences, then hit them with a frost bomb and finish them off before the Frost condition wears off.
  • Slay Monsters without Dying and without Using Potions or Shrines (100)
  • Slay Monsters without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (100)
  • Slay Monsters within 4 min with 5 Active Hexes (100): This one’s harder than it sounds, you really have to be moving quickly for this one.

The Ossuary:

  • Slay Monsters without Dying and without Using Potions with 2 Active Hexes: I recommend using the Hex of Pain and another Hex of your choice
  • Slay Thrall Hulks with a Single Hit (2)
  • Slay Monsters that Are Affected by Brutality without Dying and without Using Potions (75): Use the Berserk Aura and kill enemies with melee attacks when they are inside your aura.
  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage with 2 Active Hexes: For this, you should activate the Hex of Malice because you can’t get hit in the first place, so the amount of damage you take doesn’t matter. Secondly, you should use the Hex of Pain because it doesn’t count against the challenge. The other three Hexes all boost the enemies in ways that make this more difficult. This is semi-luck based because the Champion Reaper will know a random Demon Power. If he knows Purging Flame, Sunray, Pull or Blink, you’re not going to make it. The hardest part about him is the fact that he leaves behind a very large Zone of Damage, so you have to kill him from long range. You could try to ignore him, but it’s very hard, he will likely just hit you in the back.
  • Slay Monsters within 4 min with 5 Active Hexes (150)

Defiled Chapel:

  • Overkill Undead Pyromancers with Shotgun without Dying (25)
  • Kill Monsters with a Single Hit (10)
  • Slay Reapers with the Scythe without Dying (4): Note that Reapers are the red-colored Wraiths and are the only ones that count towards this challenge
  • Slay Essences of Flame without Dying and without Using Potions (10)
  • Slay All Wraiths in the Final Chamber without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (16)

The Larder:

  • Slay Monsters without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (45)
  • Slay Juliet while You Are Affected by Weakness: Start by clearing out the entire area before you fight Juliet. Then, leave the two Essences of Plague that spawn with Juliet alive. You need them to launch their projectiles, then kill Juliet while you stand in the AoE the projectile leaves behind.
  • Slay Monsters that Are Affected by Brutality without Dying (20)
  • Slay Monsters while Above 50% Health without Using Potions, Demon Powers or Shrines (45)
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min with 3 Active Hexes (30): Hit the room full of Lava Creepers first. I would skip out on the Hex of Tenacity and Hex of Malice.

Smuggler’s Stash:

  • Slay Monsters with Bombs without Dying (20)
  • Slay Monsters while You Are Affected by Brutality within 1 min 30 sec (40)
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min without Using Potions, Shrines or Demon Powers (40)
  • Slay Champions within 45 sec (2)
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min with 5 Active Hexes (40)

Lifeless House:

  • Slay Monsters with 4 Active Hexes (60)
  • Overkill Gargoyles with Sword without Dying (15)
  • Slay Monsters within 1 min 30 sec (30)
  • Slay Monsters within 1 min 90 sec with Hex of Tenacity (20)
  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage and without Using Demon Powers (40): Start by clearing out the room to the right of where you spawn, it’s full of Gargoyles. Then use this room to camp with the Hand Mortar and kill enemies before they get in damage range. The tricky parts are watching out for The Cook’s Pull Attack (you can jump it) and the Essences of Magic and their AoE.

Merchant Quarter:

  • Slay Vampire Acolytes with Demon Powers without Dying (10)
  • Slay Vampires with Hand Mortar without Dying (25)
  • Slay Vampires Affected by Daze without Dying (10)
  • Overkill Monsters within 6 min (60): It helps if you ignore enemies that are hard to kill and/or overkill quickly, for example, the Reapers.
  • Slay Vampires without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (70)

The Collector’s Residence:

  • Slay Monsters while You Are Affected by Brutality (25)
  • Slay Passion of the Collector within 45 sec with 5 Active Hexes: The Passion of the Collector is the Essence of Magic located in the back-right room, ignore all other enemies and go fight him
  • Slay Vampires without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (5)
  • Slay Monsters while Above 50% Health with 3 Active Hexes (30)
  • Slay Monsters with Sword while Above 50% Health (15)

The Cessways:

  • Overkill Monsters without Dying with Hex of Malice (10)
  • Slay Thrall Hulks Affected by Brutality without Dying (5): Be sure they are affected. You should weaken them until they power up, then finish them off with the Scythe’s spin attack
  • Slay Monsters without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (55): This is almost every single enemy in the area
  • Slay Morenth the Voiceless while above 50% Health with 5 Active Hexes: Just take your time and kill all enemies along the way.
  • Slay Tamas Murkvenom within 1 min with 4 Active Hexes: I recommend leaving the Hex of Tenacity inactive for this. Otherwise, just go straight to Tamas and engage, do not bother with the other enemies unless they are causing problems or die quickly.

The Reformatory:

  • Slay Monsters Affected by Weakness without Dying (50): Just kill enemies with the Dark Mist Demon Power
  • Overkill Champions (3): You really have to stack yourself for as much damage as possible.
  • Slay Monsters while above 60% Health without Using Potions (60)
  • Slay Monsters within 4 min with 5 Active Hexes (80)
  • Slay Vampires within 1 min 30 sec (7): For this one, just specifically target the Vampires, and not the Skeletons/Wraiths.

The Gauntlet:

  • Slay Whispering Bones with a Single Hit without Dying with 3 Active Hexes (10): These are the Champion Skeletons which spawn with Cadavros. You will likely need to be affected by Brutality for this. Having a Lucky Rabbit’s Foot Helps immensely for this. You pretty much have to use the Hammer’s Smash Attack (B-Attack) to hit as many as you can. You can use the Overdrive Shrine to give yourself Brutality via Berserk Aura if necessary. There are 12 of them.
  • Slay Shard Sentinels with Hammer without Dying with Hex of Tenacity Active (6)
  • Slay Monsters within 1 min 30 sec with 5 Active Hexes (15): Run to the end of the gauntlet, take out the last two Shard Sentinels then kill Cadavros and the 12 Whispering Bones. Ignore the first four Sentinels and first two Vampire Thrall Hulks.
  • Slay Cadavros while He is Affected by Brutality while You Are Above 80% Health: Kill the first two Hulk Thralls without losing too much health. Then, inside the Gauntlet, you are going to use the corners as cover and use the Hand Mortar to kill all the Sentinels. After they’re all dead, get Cadavros’ attention and then go straight back and into the secret room (you can walk through the wall). Stand on the lowest ledge of the two and fire the Mortar from up there, and slowly whittle down his health. When he is almost dead, activate Berserk Aura and finish him off while he is inside of the aura.
  • Slay Cadavros Above 80% Health with 4 Active Hexes: Use the same strategy as the previous, just play it extra carefully. You should skip either Hex of Tenacity or Hex of Malice, a good case could be made in either’s favor.

The Heart of Frost:

  • Slay Monsters with Bombardier Spider’s Attack while You Are Above 50% Health (25)
  • Slay Monsters Affected by Frost while Above 50% Health (20): Use a Frost Bomb to inflict the Frost Affect, then kill the enemy before it wears off. It will not count if the enemy dies from the explosion.
  • Slay Monsters with Rapier while Above 50% Health (30): I strongly recommend ignoring Essences of Ice for this challenge.
  • Slay Monsters without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (70)
  • Slay Monsters within 4 min with 5 Active Hexes (70)

The Junction:

  • Slay Vampires within 2 min with 5 Active Hexes (10)
  • Slay Vampires while Above 60% Health with 5 Active Hexes (10)
  • Slay Vampires with a Single Hit without Dying (3)
  • Slay Vampires That Are Affected by Brutality without Dying (10)
  • Slay Vampire Count within 1 min with 5 Active Hexes (1): He is located at the very end, you will have to kill 2 Dark Knights for him to spawn. Ignore all enemies and head straight to where the two Dark Knights and then engage whatever enemies you need to.

The Steam Quarter:

  • Slay Gargoyles with a Single Hit without Dying (20)
  • Slay Vampires Affected by Daze without Dying (10)
  • Slay Thrall Hulks with Hand Mortar with 5 Active Hexes without Dying (7): This is probably the hardest in the whole game. This is easiest done if you start from the exit of the Junction (You just have to play through the Junction then exit via the map exit) As 7 Thrall Hulks are very close. The hard part is not dying, but with a gracious number of potions and damage, you should be able to do this.
  • Slay Vampire Knights with 2 min with 5 Active Hexes (5): This is kind of a cheating way to do it, but it was the only way I could do it. Start from where you spawn if you fast travel from the castle. Before the first set of steps are 2 Vampire Knights (Green). The next is in the large area with the Health Shrine. Now, in the small back area with a Dark Knight and two blue Vampires, wall jump against the back wall, far to the left side, then double wall-jump off the pipes. It won’t look like anything is there to jump off, but just keep pressing A and eventually, you will clear the barricade. Be sure to get the checkpoint. Now, head past the Shard Sentinel, and to the left of two Sentinels in the larger area, there are the last 2 Knights you need.
  • Slay Champions without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (10): The hard part here is finding all 10

The Stockroom:

  • Slay Viscount Mornai within 1 min with 5 Active Hexes
  • Slay Monsters without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (120)
  • Slay Vampires with Lava Creeper’s Death-Blast (4)
  • Slay Monsters without Taking Damage or Using Demon Powers with 3 Active Hexes: The number one Hex you want to avoid is Tyranny because a lot of times the Demon Powers will hit you. Just camp in the initial hallway, the spiders will come to you.
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min with Hex of Malice, Hex of Time and Hex of Tyranny Active (80)

Deep Mines:

  • Slay Dark Knights that Are Affected by Weakness without Dying (4)
  • Slay Monsters Affected By Electrocuted with Rapier without Dying (30): Weaken a monster with the Lightning Gun then kill it with the Rapier
  • Slay Champions with Demon Powers without Dying (3)
  • Overkill Monsters without Dying and without Using Potions (30)
  • Slay The Magnificent Miners without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (7): These are the 7 Undead Brutes that spawn in the very last area after you kill all of the nearby Gargoyles

The Shunned Manor:

  • Slay Monsters while Above 50% Health with 3 Active Hexes (200)
  • Slay Vampire Kings with Bombs without Dying (3)
  • Slay the Inner Guardian without Using Potions or Shrines and without Dying
  • Slay Dinner Guests with Shotgun without Dying with Hex of Malice Active (8): In the large, open room with a dining table and some Wraiths, there are some enemies titled “Dinner Guest.” There are 8 and you must kill them with the shotgun. There are two 2 Forgotten Kings, 2 Reapers, 2 Vampire Counts, one Vampire Knight, and one Vampire King.
  • Slay Fester the Butler with Lava Creeper Death-Blast

Sanctum Sanctorum:

  • Slay Miscreations without Dying with 5 Active Hexes (45)
  • Slay Lord Gabriel in Phase 1 within 4 min
  • Slay Lord Gabriel in Phase 2 while above 50% Health without Using Shrines
  • Slay Lord Gabriel in Phase 3 while He is Affected by Brutality
  • Slay Lord Gabriel in Phase 3 with 5 Active Hexes without Dying

  • Iron Fist: A giant fist punches the ground, doing damage and applying Weakness

  • Scorpions: Essentially occupy the same roles as Spiders, can poison you.
  • Scorpion Bully: Goes into a rampage if you get close, very high damage.

  • Scorpion Barrager: Ranged, with a spray-fire needle attack.
  • Scorpion Artillery: Plays the same role as the Bombardier Spiders, except this one’s projectiles roll when they hit the ground.
  • Scorpion Basher: Large melee attacker, powers up like Thrall Hulks when damaged.
  • Scorpion Needle: Ranged Attacker, leave behind AoE which Poisons you on contact.
  • Scorpion Stinger: Melee attacker, leave behind AoE which Poisons you on contact.
  • Succubi: Can power themselves up via singing.
  • Temptress: Melee attacker, charged attack lets them lunge at you from far away.
  • Impaler: Stab you with spears, charged attack lets them throw the spear.
  • Firestarter: Launches fireballs which leave behind AoE. The charged attack also launches a fireball, but with a larger AoE radius.
  • Hellraiser: Has rapid-fire guns and grenades which inflict Vulnerability. The charged attack is a spray fire of their guns.
  • Virtuoso: Powers monsters, creates a cone AoE with a guitar with a charged attack.
  • Hound Mistress: Spawns Hellhounds and launches projectiles which exploded on contact with something.
  • Witch: Launches various types of ice projectiles from a distance.
  • Swordmaiden: Attacks with sword and jumping attack, which leaves behind AoE. Charged attack will turn them into a Tyrant.

==============================================

You will start off getting a bit of back story, then you will spawn into a level. Head forward and you will get into a small fight in front of a Monument of Rock, labeled by a guitar on the map. This is just a point where a bunch of enemies will spawn. Once you’ve killed them all, a portal will open to the new HUB, The Pub at the End of Time. Go there.

Once at the Pub you will talk to Lloyd, who will give you some more backstory. When he is done talking, go to fast travel, and go to the World of Wars.

===============================================

Part 1

The World of Wars

Challenges:

  • Use 10 Demon Powers
  • Overkill Skeletons (30)
  • Slay Succubi Firestarters with Ranged Attacks (15)
  • Slay the Devil’s Hounds (2): Located at the first Monument of Rock
  • Slay Champions (3)

Secrets: 11

For the first part of the level, it is very linear. After the 3rd left turn, there should be a small cubby in the buildings on your left. Wall jump into the hole in one of the buildings, then continue wall jumping until you reach the roof where you will find a secret (1). Drop down and continue down the path. You will pass a gap in some rubble on your right, go through it and a secret (2) is located behind the building to your left. Continuing the path, after a while, some skeletons will come out of the building on your right. Go into this building and you will find a secret (3) if you smash the crates in the back. Move on a bit further and you should hit the 2nd checkpoint of the level. When the path turns into a three-way split, there should be a gap in the building on your left, which you can use to double wall jump onto the roof. Go up some stairs and wall jump a few more times and you will reach another secret (4).

After the 3rd checkpoint, head over to right and complete the first Monument of Rock. After the fourth checkpoint, you should reach an area with a Health Shrine in the middle and 4 Succubi Hellraisers. The building on your left has a secret (5) in it. After that, head into the trenches. After you pass the map exit to the Wicked Garrison, you will pass a building on your right, which holds the next secret (6). Continue following the trenches parallel to the building you just went into (the other path dead-ends into a building) and eventually you will pass a checkpoint on your right. Continue past the exit to The Furnace, and you will reach a T-shaped intersection. Take the right path. You will end up near another checkpoint on the Eastern side of the map. Go to it. Here you will get into a MASSIVE fight with a ton of skeletons. Once they are all dead, head North.

You will pass a Monument of Rock on your left, be sure to complete it then continue heading North-East to the corner of the map and you will reach a burned house. A secret chest is located on the far side of this building (7). Head North until you reach the edge of the map and follow it to the West. Along the way, you will likely encounter the Napalm Dead, which are just a bunch of fire-based enemies. When you come across a burned stone building on your right, go into it and you will find another secret (8). Continue following the edge of the map and you will reach a gap between two buildings. Go into it, and the building that makes the right side of the gap has the next secret in it (9), you will have to wall jump over a few things to reach it. Continue following the side some more and be sure to unlock the Bedeviled Vault when you pass it. Head back to the checkpoint where you fought a ton of skeletons, and this time head South. Eventually, you will reach the third Monument of Rock, which you should complete. From there, look West. The building across the street to your right has a chest (10) on its roof, which you can wall jump a few times to get up to. Head to the designed map exit, to find that it is locked. Turn around and enter the warehouse directly North of you to find the final secret (11) at the top of some stairs. Return to the Pub.

When you get to the Pub you will get a free Legendary Guitar. You can now head to The Heart of Destruction. Go there.

The Heart of Destruction

Challenges:

  • Slay Warpig Machine with a Guitar
  • Slay Warpig Machine with a Demon Power
  • Slay Warpig Machine within 4 min
  • Slay Warpig Machine while above 50% Health
  • Slay Warpig Machine without Using Potions
  • Boss Fight: Warpig Machine

This fight will mostly consist of avoiding various types of projectiles. The Machine is only Vulnerable from the front, He will launch projectiles for a while, then charge at you, where he will be stunned for several seconds upon contact with the wall. After he recovers, he will slowly heal himself, until you damage him again. There are three waves of enemies: Undead Soldiers, Hellhound Chargers and Undead Brutes. You should kill them, there are only a few and they will cause a lot of problems later. Eventually, The Machine will have a flamethrower so you will have to engage at a decent range.

Head back to the Pub, and then we’re going to finish up this part. Head to the Bedeviled Vault.

Bedeviled Vault:

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (2): Described below
  • Slay the Cleansing Ones (2): Two Hellhound Alphas located at the second Monument
  • Slay Hellhounds with Ranged Attacks (30)
  • Slay Forgotten Kings without Using Potions or Shrines (5)
  • Slay Hellhound Omegas within 2 min (2): Play through the area once so you get an idea of where they are, then attempt this one.

Head forward until you reach a room with a vat full of blood and take the right path. In the next room, you will find several Forgotten Kings and a hole in the floor in one of the corners, which leads to a secret (1). After the first Monument of Rock, you will find a checkpoint. The cell directly next to it has a hole in the floor, and you must smash some boxes to reach it. Through the hole is the other secret (2). After that, you will find another Monument of Rock. Head to The Furnace.

The Furnace

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (2): Described below
  • Overkill Essences of Flame (20): Note that these are the small orbs, not the larger Essences
  • Overkill Firestarters within 1 min 30 sec (5)
  • Slay the Monsters from the Final Waves of All Monuments of Rock (6): Basically, just complete the Monuments. There are 3 Reapers, 2 Ravenous Souls and 1 Spectral Binder.
  • Slay Hellhound Alpha without Using Potions or Demon Powers (1)

Head forward, and when the path splits, take the left path. Fight your way through the enemies and at the end of the hallway, jump through the hole in the left wall and you will find a secret (1). Go back, and this time take the right path and complete the Monument of Rock. Continue this path, you will reach a checkpoint and you will find the Hellhound Alpha you have to kill for one of the challenges. Afterward, smash the “Danger: Keep Out” sign in the hole in the wall directly west of the checkpoint and go into this room where you will find a secret (2). You will have to smash a lot of boxes. Head to the final Monument of Rock, complete it, and head to The Wicked Garrison.

Wicked Garrison

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (3): Described below
  • Slay Murderlady: At the first Monument
  • Slay Succubus Swordmaiden with Sword (1)
  • Slay Monsters within 2 min while You Are Affected by Brutality (15)
  • Slay the Nightmares without Using Potions (2): At the second Monument

Head straight forward and you will enter a room with a bunch of bunk beds. Head into the next room with the Double Damage Shrine, then smash the boxes to your right and head down this. Head back and this time go down the hallway rather than the room with the bunk beds. Head up the stairs at the end of this hallway and jump through the hole in the wall to your right, and you will find another secret (2). Head back and go to the first Monument of Rock. This where you will find Murderlady. In the next room, with the checkpoint, you will find the Succubus Swordmaiden you must kill with a sword. If you follow the path East of the second Monument of Rock, you will find the final secret (3). Be sure to complete the Monument as well. Return to the Pub.

==================================================

Part 2

Head to the Weird West

Weird West

Challenges (all locations will be described below):

  • Slay The Bad One
  • Slay the Deputy with a Melee Attack
  • Slay the Sheriff with a Ranged Attack
  • Slay the Hermit with a Bomb
  • Slay Snake Fang’s Spirit with a Demon Power

Secrets: 8

Start heading through the canyon. Keep an eye on the left wall and watch for a hole in the rocks which you can jump through to find a secret (1). Once you hit the first checkpoint, take the path through the cacti to your right. About half-way through is a path leading into the cactus patch that leads to a secret (2). Move on, complete the Monument to your right, and head the nearby checkpoint. Head over the map exit to The Whispering Wellspring, then follow the wall heading North. When you pass the Native’s camp, there will be a gap in the rocks to the North of the three totem poles. You can wall jump to a platform above the totems. Follow this path for a secret (3). Go into the Native’s camp on your left when you are done. Here you will find Snake Fang, who is a Champion Gravedigger. Once you kill him, a Champion Spectral Binder will spawn, whom you must kill with a Demon Power.

Once he is dead, resume following the wall of the map until you can jump down into a canyon with train tracks and a map exit to Dead Man’s Mine. When you leave the canyon, hug the wall to your right and you will reach and area where The Hermit will spawn (whom you must kill with bombs) with a bunch of other scorpions. There next secret (4) is located in the Hermits hiding place. Head into the graveyard directly South-West from The Hermit, and you will find The Bad One after you kill a bunch of skeletons. Afterward, head to the map exit for Terminus East, and follow the train tracks back into the town. Before you attempt the Monument here, get the checkpoint to the East. Now attempt the Monument. Both the Deputy and the Sheriff will spawn here. Once they are dead and the Monument is clear, make your way onto the building with the Undead Gravedigger by wall jumping off the nearby water tower. The next secret (5) is on the platform below him.

Head to the last remaining Monument of Rock and complete it. Head to the first checkpoint again and jump onto the rock to the right of it. Follow this path for another secret (6). Jump down and follow the path away from the checkpoint to the train tracks. Jump onto the rocks on the opposite side and you will find another secret (7), you will have to wall jump off a couple of rocks that don’t look like you can wall jump off. Be sure to unlock the exit to Windswept Canyon. The final secret (8) can only be gotten by exiting to this area from Windswept Canyon. This means you have to play through the area and then take the map exit to Weird West. You will jump down two platforms and then jump over to some side platforms to get to the chest. When you’re done, head to Terminus East.

Terminus East

Challenges:

  • Slay Monsters (200): For this one, you’re going to have to ignore Orgasmatron until you get it, because 200 enemies is a lot, and they stop spawning once the boss is dead.
  • Slay Orgasmatron with Revolvers
  • Slay Orgasmatron with Melee Attacks
  • Slay Orgasmatron within 5 min
  • Slay Orgasmatron while above 50% Health
  • Boss Fight: Orgasmatron

This fight will mostly be trying to moderate the number of skeletons (there are tons). Basically, the train will drive through the area. In order to make it drive slowly, you must smash the carts on the tracks when they drive by. Then damage Orgasmatron as much as possible before he makes it to the tunnel. He also has guns which he will fire at you. Once he is dead, return to the Pub. We’re going to finish the levels in this area up before moving on.

Windswept Canyon

Challenges:

  • Overkill Monsters (100)
  • Slay Scorpion Barragers within 2 min (10): You can find 10 before even touching the wooden scaffolding.
  • Slay Treachery with Ranged Attacks without Using Demon Powers or Shrines
  • Slay The Serpentine Ladies (2)
  • Slay the Prejudiced Ones with a Guitar (6): All of them are located on the last platform before the exit, they are Champion Succubi Firestarters.

Secrets: 2

Start by going forward and completing the first Monument, where you will find the Serpentine Ladies. Then go into the wooden scaffolding after 6 Champion Barragers. When you reach the top platform with a bunch of skeletons, jump over the railing in the South-West corner and you can find a secret (1) inside a mine cart. Head to the second Monument and complete it. Afterward, when you continue, you should find a wooden crane. Jump over the fence to the left of it and this path will lead you to the other secret (2).

Dead Man’s Mine

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (3): Described below
  • Slay Scorpion Earthshaker with Guitar (4)
  • Slay Scorpion Bullies with Revolvers (2)
  • Slay Succubus Virtuoso Champions (2): Both are at the fist Monument
  • Slay Emerancia Sunkenshire with Demon Powers: She is located right by the map exit

Head over to the raised platform on your left at the start, then wall jump between the two wooden walls to reach a ledge that you can cross and jump down to a secret (1). In this room are two Scorpion Bullies you can easily kill for one of the challenges by camping on the rocks above them. Go to and complete the first Monument. Continue on and make your way to the first checkpoint. When you reach the passage parallel to the one with the checkpoint, there is a wooden wall on your right that you can walk through for a secret (2). Keep going, and when you reach a point with a few lone Scorpion Pests, there will be a small cubby-like area to your right with the final secret (3).

Vanishing Wellspring

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (3): Described below
  • Slay Monsters with Revolvers (50)
  • Slay Death: Located at the first Monument
  • Slay Succubi while You Are Affected by Brutality (15)
  • Slay Succubi Firestarters within 3 min (30): There are 15 at the start, 5 at the second/third Brutality circle and enough in the first grassy area to finish off this challenge, you will likely have to ignore all the other enemies.

Go forward through the area until you reach the first Brutality circle. Turn around and there will be a small path on the right side of the pathway you took here, and there will be a chest a little way down it (1). Also, from the first Brutality circle, if you stand in it and head directly towards the nearest Monument you can walk across the gap. Over here is the next secret (2). When you reach the grassy area, go to the Health Shrine. Directly North-East of that is a chest (3) over-looking the water. Then head to the second Monument of rock and finish that off. Go back to the Pub.

========================================

Part 3

When you get to the Pub, fast travel to The Dark Ages

The Dark Ages

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (6): Described below
  • Slay the Bloodgreed Spiders with Demon Powers (2): One is a Lava Creeper; the other is a Demon Spider. Both are located at the first Monument.
  • Slay the Iron Lady with Melee Attacks: At second Monument
  • Slay the Extorter with Ranged Attacks: At third Monument
  • Slay the Everwatch with Hex of Malice and Hex of Tenacity (4)

Start by heading over to the Journal Entry and jumping the small gap in the rocks to reach a chest (1). Then start following the left wall. Eventually, you will make your way to the first Monument, which you should clear. Head back to the start, and now head right. When you reach the blood pool, you can jump on the rocks on the far bank, and it will lead to a secret (2). Keep following the side until you reach the map exit to Frozen Hearth Cave. Now head to the nearby Monument and clear it. If you go to the nearby edge of the map, you can jump around some rocks, and reach another secret (3). Then head to the nearest map exit (Diseased Cellar)/checkpoint. Now head to the last Monument and clear it.

Now head to the checkpoint to the South-West of the Monument, then onto the last remaining map exit that isn’t your objective (The Slaughterhouse). If you jump off to the South of the ledge that the Slaughterhouse is on, you will end up by another chest (4). Go across the bridge nearby where you jumped, heading to the last remaining area of the map. Make your way all the way to the exit, but don’t leave. Head to the West side of the castle and go into the watchtower, where you will find another secret (5). On the other side of the castle (there are two Shrines: a Health and Double Damage) you can jump over the balcony and reach another chest (6). Now enter the Screaming Pathway.

Screaming Pathway

Challenges:

  • Slay Vampire Knights without Taking Damage (3): Your best bet for this is going to be having as much damage you can, and just killing everything. There is one in the first room on your left. Be sure to use the archways as cover from the Firestarter’s fireballs. The second is in the next room on your left. At the T-shaped intersection take a left, and the third Knight is in the room on your immediate right.
  • Slay Siena while Above 50% Health without Using Potions: She is the last of the 3 Witches in the room at the right of the T-shaped intersection, just take your time getting there, and once you are there, use the two columns as cover from the witch’s attacks.
  • Slay Tyrant Succubus Swordmaidens (3): You will NOT be able to do this with the Hex of Tyranny. Instead, avoid all their attacks, then let them sing their song and they will turn into a Tyrant. Kill them once they have transformed.
  • Slay Zeal with Demon Powers: He is a Champion Hellhound Alpha located at the first Monument
  • Slay Sisters of Mercy without Using Potions (2): They are two Champion Hellhound Mistresses located at the second Monument.

Since I described a majority of the level above, I will just state the secret locations:

Secret (1): In the first large room, there is a ledge up to your right that you can double wall jump off pillar to reach. Up here is a hole in the wall which leads to the chest

Secret (2): Behind the first Monument; you can jump through the hole in the wall

Secret (3): After you complete the second Monument, turn around and jump off the right side of the path.

Before we fight the Queen, we’re going to finish the other areas.

Frozen Hearth Cave

Challenges:

  • Slay Champions (10)
  • Slay Herja with a Tome: At the 2nd secret
  • Slay Fenrir with a Hammer
  • Slay Champion Corrupted Norns with Revolvers (3): All three are located at the second Monument
  • Slay Hlokk with a Guitar: Located at first Monument

Secrets: 2

From the start, hug the right wall, and wall jump up to another platform. Clear the first Monument here, where you will find Hlokk, whom you must slay with a guitar then move on to the checkpoint. Jump through the waterfall, and you will find a secret (1). Head to the second Monument and clear it. Continue following the path and you will reach Fenrir, whom you must kill with a Hammer. When you cross a stone bridge, there will be a small path before it, to the right, which leads to the other secret (2) and also Herja, whom you must kill with a Tome.

The Slaughterhouse

Challenges:

  • Find Secrets (2): Described below
  • Slay Succubus Swordmaidens with Demon Powers (3)
  • Slay Succubus Witches while You Are Affected by Brutality (3)
  • Slay Lady Erzebeth within 6 min: Located at Monument
  • Slay Soulfikar without Using Potions or Demon Powers

Start by heading straight to the Monument, all the secrets are after it. This is where Erzebeth spawns, so you should have no problem doing it in six minutes. Once it is clear, head to the next checkpoint, and into the room with 6 small extending rooms. A secret (1) is located in the North-Easternmost room. In the next room, with Soulfikar, the other secret (2) is located in the Southern set of cells, you can jump through the bars.

Diseased Cellar

Challenges:

  • Slay Succubus Swordmaidens (2)
  • Slay Succubus Hound Mistresses with Melee Attacks (3)
  • Slay Succubus Witches with Ranged Attacks (2)
  • Slay Succubus Virtuosi without Using Shrines (2)
  • Slay the Abomination without Using Potions: For this one, I recommend just rushing to where he is (Easternmost section) and killing him as quickly as possible.

Secrets: 1

This area really just consists of 2 Monuments. Clear them, and the secret (1) is located in the Northernmost part of the map behind some very large barrels.

If you’ve completed all Monuments of Rock/found all secrets, you will get:

Challenges:

  • Slay the Queen of the Damned with the Guitar
  • Slay Champions (10)
  • Slay the Queen of the Damned with 3 Active Hexes
  • Slay the Queen of the Damned without Using Potions or Shrines
  • Boss Fight: Queen of the Damned

She has some pretty mediocre attacks, really. After a decent chunk of her health is gone, she will become invincible and you will have to hunt down and destroy 3 soul balls. The hunting phase is when you can find the champions. The hardest part is going the whole time without dying, or else you have to restart the whole fight. Once she is dead you should unlock the following if you have been following the walkthrough exactly:

Part 4: Clean-Up Achievements

Speedfreak

Deliver 6 critical hits with a single Bullet Hell attack

Speedfreak
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

Either have your stats rolled for high crit. Chance or have a Lucky Rabbit’s foot. When you have either of those, go into a giant group of skeletons and use the Y-Attack of the Revolvers. The Den of the Broodmother works well also. The goal is to get 6 critical hits.

Heartbreaker

Have a network of 6 Heartbreakers on the ground

Heartbreaker
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

For this achievement, you will need the following: An outfit with +2000 Overdrive, an Aether Vial and the Heartbreaker Demon Power (the higher rank the better). Go fight some enemies and full charge all three of your Overdrive bars. Start spamming whichever button you have Heartbreaker equipped to, then once three are down, use and Aether Vial to refill your Overdrive and quickly place 3 more before they de-spawn.

Crying Shame

Interrupt a singing Succubus with Crying Shame

Crying Shame
Online/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

For this achievement, you will need the Crying Shame Demon Power. It’s basically a push attack. Go find a Succubus of any breed. Avoid dying and wait for them to start their singing (powering up). When they do that, activate the Crying Shame and stop them from powering up.

Stand

Use The Swarm's projectiles to kill 6 enemies at the same time

Stand
Online/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

For this achievement, you will need a Destiny Card called The Swarm. The rank doesn’t matter, but the higher the better. If you can combine a bunch and get a Legendary version, this is a piece of cake. Either way, find a large group of skeletons (7+) then take away more than half of one’s health in a single hit, and you will release homing projectiles. The goal is to kill 6 enemies with the projectiles, so the more damage/projectiles, the better.

Rock It

Have 50 monsters headbanging at the same time

Rock It
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

There are several locations which might work well for this. The top three I can think of are The Den of the Broodmother, Well of Worlds and where I went to. If you go to the World of Wars, and then to the Easternmost checkpoint, a ton of skeletons will spawn there. Get them all in a group, and then use the Guitar’s B-Attack to hit as many as possible and get them to Headbang. Having the Hex of Tenacity Active Helps as well, so they won’t all die instantly. There are some Legendary weapons that will make this far easier, but this is if you don’t have a Legendary weapon which has effects on Headbanging. You could also use the Paralyzed Demon Power.

King of Kings

Kill 250 headbanging monsters with a lightning strike

King of Kings
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeCollectable

For this one, use the same locations/strategies as the previous one, and just kill as many enemies as you can using them

Sweet Revenge

Inflict Crippled, Bleeding, Weakness, Dazed, Headbang and Electrocuted to a single enemy

Sweet Revenge
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

In order to do this, you will need a Lightning Gun, a Revolver and a Guitar. Start by having the Lightning Gun and Revolver equipped. Find a sturdy enemy that will not die quickly, for example, I did mine on a Thrall Hulk because they’re so slow. You’re going to quickly zap the enemy with the Lightning Gun to inflict Electrocuted, then pause the game and go into your inventory and switch out the Lightning Gun for a Guitar. Un-pause, switch to the Revolver and hold B to the max Power. Now you have to quickly switch to the Guitar and use the B-Attack and hope the enemy’s status effects don’t wear off. This will not work on champions or bosses.

One Track Mind

Collect 18 different weapon enhancing destiny cards

One Track Mind
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeCollectable

In order to get this, you will need 18 of the following (21) legendary Destiny Cards:

The Silver Bullet, The Gunslinger, The Bard, The Blade Master, The Cannon, The Edge, The Golem, The Harvest, The Hunter, The Lightning, The Magician, The Muse, The Reaper, The Smith, The Swashbuckler, The Thunderstorm,The Trebuchet, The Trigger, The Trio, The Vortex and Wild Magic. I recommend playing the game with an item of Extraordinary Luck and checking the Destiny Card Vendor as much as possible. You can also get some by reaching level 27,28 and 29.

Thunder And Lightning

Equip Legendary Guitar, The Muse and The Bard

Thunder And Lightning
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeCollectable

For this, you will need The Bard, The Muse, and any legendary guitar. the best way to find the cards is to equip an item of Extraordinary Luck and kill the Queen of the Damned repeatedly. The cards can only be found in Motorhead World. If you open legendary chests specifically in this world, you may have better luck finding these cards that way.

On Parole

Equip Legendary Revolvers, The Gunslinger and The Silver Bullet

Live To Win
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperative

If you complete all elite challenges you will get this. I'm not going to do a walkthrough because if you've completed the main games elite challenges and completed all the normal challenges (which I recommend you do first) then you should have seen pretty much all the types of challenges this game has to offer, although this DLC is much harder.

Welcome to the Fractured Worlds DLC walkthrough. This will be less of an actual walkthrough and more of an achievement guide since this DLC doesn't have much content. It consists of 5 areas: 1 dungeon with infinite tiers (you only have to reach 50) and 4 single tier dungeons, which switch daily, similar to the Cauldron of Chaos in Zagoravia. The story of the game is very linear, although there will be a few times where you have to wait to continue because you have to wait for the daily dungeons to refresh. The goal of the story is to find all the pieces of The Astrolabe, which you get by killing Epic Monsters located in the daily dungeons or a specific tiers in the Fracture.

Once you have completed the story, you will have unlocked:

This DLC also increased the level cap to 60:

A new type of item was also introduced: The Talisman. You find a recipe (green, gold or purple rarity) and it tells you which items need to be combined with it to form the Talisman. They work as tiers, you must have completed the green tier of one of the 5 forms of Talismans before you can craft the gold tier. You can find recipes in the same ways you find weapons, although you are more likely to find legendary ones from secrets. After you craft your first talisman (will be green rarity) and equip it, you will unlock:

Oooh Shiny

Equip a Talisman

Oooh Shiny
Online/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeCollectable

You must also craft the legendary form of each class. This takes an immense amount of grinding for items, I spent weeks looking for the last item I needed, so just be prepared if you want that 100%. Note that you must have the required items AND the recipe (found in the Other tab of the inventory) to craft. Some of these use dyes which are found randomly and by also by leveling up. If you combine Dyes, you have a random chance to increase the rarity to a higher one (Black/White are rare, Rainbow is legendary)

Class 1: Antique

Trinket (uncommon): Weapon (common rarity or higher), The Fool (Destiny Card) and Demon Power (gold rarity or higher)

Curio (rare): Trinket (previous talisman), Demon Power (legendary) The Fool (Destiny Card)

Antique (legendary): Curio (previous talisman), Blink (legendary Demon Power), Lucky Rabbit's Foot

If you really cannot find the Rabbit's Foot or you don't want to use yours, you can buy one from GebaN at the end of the Cauldron of Chaos for 50 Demon Souls.

When you've crafted the Antique, you will get:

Ember (rare): Red Dye (common), Sunray (Legendary Demon Power), Flame (previous Talisman)

Pheonix (legendary): Ember (previous Talisman), Meteor (legendary Hammer), The Sun (gold rarity Destiny Card)

Class 5: Artifact

Effigy (uncommon): Aether Vial (consumable), The Vampire (Common Destiny Card), Berserk Aura (gold rarity Demon Power)

Idol (rare): Berserk Aura (legendary Demon Power), Black Dye (rare), Effigy (Previous Talisman)

Artifact (legendary): Kladenets (legendary sword), Legendary Dye, Idol (previous Demon Power)

After hundreds of hours of gameplay and thousands of successful legendary transmutations, it seems as though Kladenets is only available to be found in the Fractured Worlds DLC, as I found it within the first few successful attempts to transmute legendaries (3 gold weapons have a small chance to transmute into a random legendary). I found this to be the hardest of all 5 classes to complete.

Transmute an Artifact

Older Is Better
1 guideOnline/OfflineSingle PlayerCooperativeShop

As a side note, the Ember talisman (Brute's Ember is the best) is very overpowered, and I strongly recommend you use it for this next achievement for that reason. The mechanics behind it are that it takes the damage of your current weapon and will deal damage proportional to your weapon damage. It also shares Armor Piercing, Critical Chance and Critical Damage increase with your weapon. I've instantly killed many bosses with this item, and if you can figure out how it works and how to maximize it's potential, it can make so many aspects of this game much easier. Anyway, for this achievement, you just need to have a stockpile of legendary Demon Powers and Destiny Cards and then transmute them onto the Talisman until it is maxed. There are also power stones for this. Once it is maxed you will get:

Impossibly Cool

Transmute a perfect Talisman

If you have the Antique Talisman, you can also get the next achievement. All you have to do is charge it, and then use it on 3 mites (best to find them in The Den of the Broodmother) and they will turn into Dancing Skeletons.
