Love Tore: Mint

External image

Love Tore: Mint is the second release of the Love Tore Series for the Xbox 360 (complete series known and sold under the bundle Love Tore Chocolate). This game is retail only and requires the Xbox 360 Kinect. The Love Tore games are in Japanese, which requires an NTSC-J Xbox 360 console (Japanese) and is region locked (cannot be played on an NTSC or PAL Xbox 360 or Xbox One). The Love Tore series is a music and dance series that follows the character progression of Japanese school girls through the academy. The Love Tore series cannot be idle-boosted for full completion or dummy exploited. There will be times when failing or quitting may benefit the player.

All three Love Tore games are essentially the same exact game with minor differences. Each game loads up the same, has the same interface, achievement types, and objectives. All three games offer the player the choice of playing as one of four characters. It is required to complete all four characters through their story progression stages (leveling up) and their stamp cards (performance-based accumulative system). The only difference between games is a slight variance in later exercise routines, activities available (some appear across games), the four available characters, and each character's story scenarios and costumes. Saves for each game share high scores, costumes, and finale performances across all games (doesn't impact achievements).

There are four modes required for achievements: Exercise, Activity, Dance, and Performance Mode. Players will want to work on leveling up each of the 3 main leveling bars (Action Level, Dance Level, and Performance Level) while gathering random sub-scenarios that pop up on the post stats screen.

Story progression will be broken down into four phases per character. It is incredibly important to try and follow the same routine on each character to ensure you miss no missable achievements. Your first character can net you 610G in around 6-8 hours depending on skill. For bean divers, the costume achievement can be attained within a few minutes of launching the game.

You will repeat phases 1-4 with each character, but for your first playthrough, you will attempt to collect all S rank achievements and miscellaneous achievements. Character progression is based on leveling the Action Level from 1-6 (phase one), 6-11 (phase two), and 11-15+max (phase three). Phase four is miscellaneous cleanup and stamp cards. In order to unlock phase 3 (action levels 11-15+max which is needed for True Ending), you will need to have maxed your Dance Level to 12+max and Performance Level to 4+max before hitting level 11. Following the phases listed below should keep you on track and net you every achievement along the way.

Action Level increases by doing any activity, even if the activity results in a fail or quit. Exercise routines level Action Level the fastest. Three S ranks can complete an entire level, or four A ranks. Dance and Performance will increase Action Level much slower, even with S ranks.

Dance Level increases by completing dance routines. Two S ranks on the current highest level dance song will raise the Dance Level, or three A ranks. Note, while leveling the Dance Level bar, you will level Action Level bar at the same time (at a slower rate). Scoring below A rank will net a slower progression, even when failing. The difference of experience gained between the S rank and the A rank is the equivalent to one A rank plus two fail ranks.

Performance Level increases by completing performance routines. Three S ranks on the current highest level performance song will raise the Performance Level, or four A ranks. Note, while leveling the Performance Level bar, you will level the Action Level bar at the same time (at a slower rate). Scoring below A rank will net a slower progression, even when failing. The difference of experience gained between the S rank and the A rank is the equivalent to one A rank plus two fail ranks.

Sub-Scenarios are dialog scenes that are randomly unlocked after completing game activities that result in an increase of Action Level. The scenarios appear after the stamp page during post stats. There are 10 sub-scenarios in each phase, phases one-three. Once you move into the next phase, the sub-scenarios missed are locked. You are not guaranteed to unlock all 10 sub-scenarios before moving on to the next level. This is when quitting or failing routines becomes a priority, as it slows action level progression while giving the player more attempts at sub-scenarios. The player will need 25 total sub-scenarios out of the 30 possible. It's ideal to get 8-10 in your first two phases, then finish the remainder in phase three. My ideal setup was 9 or 10 in phase one, 10 in phase two, then 5-6 in phase three. Just guarantee yourself that you have a minimum of 15 sub-scenarios heading into phase three.

Stamp Sheets are a grind. Completing activities will net you stamps. You will need to complete 20 stamp sheets per character. There are 5 rows of 8 stamps per sheet (40 stamps per sheet). S ranking exercise routines, or the highest available activity, dance, or performance will net you 9 stamps, A ranks will net 7, B ranks will net 5, C ranks will net 3, D rank will net 1, and failure will net 0. Phase one should net the player 5-6 sheets complete, phase two another 5-6 sheets complete, and phase three 3-4 sheets complete. Phase four is post-ending, where you can finish collecting the remaining stamps.

Basic Navigation:

After you launch the game and make it to this screen, simply use your right arm to progress the next screen, profile select.

External image

Use your left arm to activate the left-hand option that prompts the profile select screen. Once signed in, use your right arm to activate the right-hand option to confirm. This will prompt you to select a save device.

External image

Use the right-hand option to confirm. You will perform these actions every time you log onto the game.

If this is your first time starting the game, you will be introduced to the naming process:

External image

Simply hover over the top option on the right to begin the game.

There are many dialog scenarios and screen progression prompts that you must hold your right arm out:

External image

When in dialog or scenarios, you can "change mode" from auto to skip. Auto plays the scenario as normal, showing a scene with Japanese dialog. Skip allows the dialog and scene to fast-forward. You will skip all dialog to speed the game up tremendously unless the player decides to watch and read each scenario in Japanese. Once the dialog or scene concludes, you will put your right arm/hand out again to conclude the sequence.

External image

Once you complete the steps above, you will be introduced to the four playable girls. Each girl has the exact same tasks that need to be performed. The only difference between the girls is their performance mode song (Different song/chart/moves). Personally, I found it convenient to complete one character at a time, working from left to right. There is no significance in order. Hover over the character you want from the list on the right, then choose the top option to select the character. This will bring you to a dialog with the character, then finally their main game page.

External image

On the left side of the screen, you will see your characters leveling progression. This shows the Action Level (starts at level 1 and moves to 15+maxed exp bar), Dance Level (starts at level 1 and moves to 12+maxed exp bar), and finally the Performance level (starts at level 1 and moves to 4+maxed exp bar). We will discuss these during the story walkthrough.

On the right in descending order, numbered 1-7:

1.) Exercise menu. You will start with one exercise routine. As you score an A rank or higher on each exercise routine, you will unlock the next routine. There are 7 exercise routines to complete.

2.) Activity menu. The activity menu opens up after the completion of your first exercise routine attempt. There are four activities, with 3 stages of each. You must complete the first two stages with an A rank or higher to unlock the endless version of an activity. The endless version of the activity requires a set high score for an S rank which is required for each activity achievement. The latter activities will not become available right away and requires action level increases to unlock.

3.) Dance menu. The dance menu opens up after the completion of your first exercise routine attempt. There are 12 dance routines that must be completed for each character. Each routine unlocks after leveling up the dance level experience bar.

4.) Performance menu. The performance menu opens up after completing your first activity after reaching action level 5. There are 4 performance routines that progressively add more moves and length to the character's unique song. Each routine unlocks after leveling up the performance level experience bar.

5.) Character Finale Performance. This typically unlocks after you complete the character's story. Once you complete a character's story, you will use this menu to select characters for a dance performance from the girls.

6.) Character options menu. The top two options are fundamentally important and the top option will be dubbed 6a and the second option 6b:

6a.) Scenario menu. You will find the character's locked and unlocked scenarios. The player needs to monitor this screen before progressing through the game. (Will talk about this later.)

6b.) Costume menu. You will find the character's costumes that are locked or unlocked here. Costumes will unlock cross games and be available to choose from at the beginning of the game.

7.) Kinect menu. This is the basic Kinect menu that is standard in all Kinect games.

we can quickly get you your first achievement. Select the 6th option on the right (character options). Then select the second option from the top (option 6b from tips) for costumes. From here, simply select the top option and then choose the costume below to change outfits. Once your character concludes dialog and the game saves, you will receive this achievement:

Now we begin your character's progression. Start by choosing the exercise menu (Menu 1), then selecting the first exercise. Complete Exercise routine 1 if possible to an S rank to earn this achievement:

If you are unable to attain this achievement your first try, don't worry. You will have plenty of attempts at all S ranks during each phase, across all four characters.

Once the exercise routine 1 is complete, you will unlock dance mode (Menu 3). We will begin the Dance Level grind. Select the Dance menu, then select the first routine. You will unlock this upon completing your first dance routine,

and this if you S rank it:

As you continue, it is best to S rank the routines, as two S ranks will level the entire experience bar for dance. This will eliminate excessive attempts, but limit the sub-scenario count. I personally continued leveling the Dance Level to at least level 8. You can continue to level to 12+max in phase one if you wish, but it's not necessary yet. If you S rank dance routines 4, 7, and 12 and gain stamps along the way, you will earn these:

Once you are at least at Dance Level 8, we will check your sub-scenario count. Choose the character options menu (Menu 6), then select the first option (Menu 6a). The top row of scenarios are the main level progression scenarios. You will receive one of these when you max out your Action Level instead of a sub-scenario. The second set, 3 rows of 10, are the sub-scenarios. Row one is phase one, row two is phase two, and row three is phase three. The goal is to get the sub-scenario count to 8-10 before progressing the Action Level to 6.

At this point, if you stopped at Dance Level 8, you can now do more Dance Levels to either Dance Level 12+Max until you get 10 sub-scenarios or you can switch to completing Exercise routines until level 6, checking sub-scenario progress every few attempts. If you reach level 5 and a half bar of experience, you can choose to quit exercise routines to slow Action Level progress while receiving sub-scenarios. You can either end phase one with the 10 sub-scenarios or begin phase two getting the 10th sub-scenario. It's all about maxing attempts and sub-scenarios per phase to save as much effort as possible. Quitting out of routines will net sub-scenarios, but will miss out on stamps that can be grinded out later.

For your first character, I would focus on S ranking dance routines 1,3,7, and 12 for the achievements before moving on to power leveling Action Level. For newer players, this will net stamps and sub-scenarios. Note, if you hit 10 sub-scenarios and your Dance level is under 10, I would switch to completing the exercises for Action Levels. If you continue to Dance Level 12+max, you will likely earn or be close to this:

Once you switch to exercises in Menu 1 to power level Action Level to level 6, attempt to S rank all seven. Remember, each exercise unlocks once you A rank the current highest routine. This would net you:

Phase Two:

Phase two begins once the player hits Action Level 6. Your ideal stats at this point should include all of the S rank achievements for Dance and Exercise, Action Level 6, and Dance Level 8+. If you haven't completed maxing out your Dance Level (making it to Dance Level 12 then maxing out the experience bar to MAX), now would be the time to do it. It should not level your Action Level too high, giving you plenty of time to complete Performance Mode. I would recommend finishing Dance before moving on to Performance Mode, as they both need to be maxed before hitting Action Level 11.

Once Dance Level is maxed (level 12+max), we will move on to Performance Mode. Choose Menu 4, then select the first performance routine. Once you complete the first routine, you will earn this:

カラオケパフォーマンスモードをプレイ

Continue to level up your Performance Level to 4+max. If you can S rank all four levels of Performance Mode, you will earn these:

It is likely the player will also record 10 stamp sheets completed once you finish leveling both Dance and Performance Levels netting this:

れいなスタンプ10枚
Offline Game ModeSingle PlayerCumulative +

Once both Dance and Performance Levels are at Max, you will want to check your sub-scenario count again. Ideally, you want to be at 9-10 for Phase two (18-20 combined). If you are in that range, you can either go back to power leveling Action Level through exercises, or you can move on to activities (Menu 2). By the time you finished all the required leveling to unlock phase three, you should have unlocked all activities available. These activities will level up the Action Level similar to exercises, but only the highest level activity will net the most stamps. Your first activity will unlock this:

ミニゲームをプレイ

Complete all 3 stages of each of the four activities and score S ranks on the endless modes (reaching high score thresholds), you will net these:

Phase Three:

Phase three begins once the player reaches Action Level 11 and both Dance and Performance are MAXED. If you did not max these ranks, the story will end, locking phase three. Your current stats should include all S rank achievements, Action Level 11, Dance 12+max, and Performance 4+max.

In phase three, we are simply power leveling Action Level to 15+max. If you have 18-20 sub-scenarios, you will likely get the 5-7 needed quickly while power leveling Action Levels. Once you hit 25 sub-scenarios, you will unlock this:

Now would be a good time to revisit S ranks you missed while leveling Action Level.

Power leveling to 15+max will net the true ending, unlocking this:

Phase Four:

Phase four is clean up. You will clean up all S ranks missed while scoring as many stamps as possible. The absolute fastest way to earn stamps is grinding exercise routine 1. This routine is quite easy to S rank and can be done in 1 minute 30 seconds (including load times). If you would rather progress quickly, you can skip the S ranks, as you will have 3 more shots at doing this on your other character runs. Knock out miscellaneous achievements if you have not already done so along the way.

Playing Exercise Mode, Activity Mode, Dance Mode, and Performance Mode in succession should net this:

Selecting Finale Mode after completing the True Ending in Menu 5, then starting the performance will net this:
