Single Player Campaign
Now we are this point before you start your game pick you difficulty (preferably easy) and then the game will ask you to pick a character. Pick Ross since he has the highest health and does the most damage to enemies. He always starts with a machine gun so he was my pick for the campaign. Bull and Taggart are very fragile and quite frankly they suck against the final boss. So run with Ross.
Note 1: Before I jump into the game I would like to say that this game has some controller throwing moments but DO NOT be discouraged. It is a very easy completion with a campaign that took me 6 hours to finish then another 3-4 to completely finish.
Note 2: Keep an eye out for these achievements you should get them progressing through the game:
You should get the two at the top during your first playthrough and if you use grenades often enough, you should be able to get the grenade one fairly easy as well.
Chapter 1: Liberation of Al Shatar
Mission 1-1: Barbarians At The Gate
This mission is very straight forward. All you do in this mission is run and kill guys until you reach the final area of the level where you have to protect the bunker. Once you have killed your 10th enemy, you will have earned:
Depending on who you chose to play with, you will have earned one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this mission to obtain the other 2 achievements:
Mission 1-2: The Hill
This is by far the shortest mission I have ever played in a game. This mission requires you to run up a hill with guys shooting at you then you hop on the turret and kill all the enemies and the mission is done. It is not hard at all as the turret can shoot continuously without overheating.
Once the mission is over, you earn one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this mission to obtain the other 2 achievements:
Mission 1-3: Hell From Above
This mission is fairly short but can be very stressful with the beginning of the mission. It requires you to mount an AA emplacement gun to use against the enemy aircraft attacking you. The problem is that using the gun is very glitchy; making it hard for some to shoot the enemy bombers that must be destroyed to advance. The next part is to go to the end of the level which is very annoying as there are lots of guys; take your time and you'll be fine.
At missions end, you will have earned one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this mission to obtain the other 2 achievements:
Mission 1-4: Scorched
This mission is one of the longer missions in the game. It is the same usual run and gun style. The only change here is the first mission where you have to drive a tank. The problem is they do not have any kind of health regeneration so if you get hit, it wont recover. Your job is to repel off enemy tanks. If you stay at the entry way you should be able to get very quick kills as they come from the left and then the right. If this doesn't work because you are shooting too slow, the other tactic is to drive around the tanks and keep shooting till they are all down.
At the end of this mission you will get one achievement since it does not require a certain character to unlock:
Chapter 2: Castle Festenburg
Mission 2-1: Ascension
In this mission you ride a ski lift into a station. I know right? Pretty realistic. Anyways, it's a fairly simple mission. However there is lots of backtracking here.
Once you complete this mission, you will earn one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this mission again with the other characters to obtain the other 2 achievements:
Mission 2-2: Breakout
This mission is different from the others. You have to take control of Taggert and you don't have a choice. The mission is to sneak around a sewer system to get to a scientist.
It also is the best mission in the game to do this achievement (primarily because it's the ONLY mission you can do this):
Keep progressing and once you finish the mission, you will earn this achievement:
Mission 2-3: The Net Tightens
This mission sucks the big one. You have an annoying scientist following you and you have to infiltrate and liberate a castle that is full of wankers. I will admit right away that I got CREAMED many times in this level. Be prepared to load some checkpoints.
Now is about the time you should have earned this achievement (and if you haven't...it should be soon):
Take out 20 enemies with a headshot in any mode
But once you complete the mission, you will earn one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this mission with the other characters to earn the other 2 achievements:
Mission 2-4: Maelstrom
Welcome to the worst level in gaming history. This level almost made me cry. This level made Baby Jesus weep. Oprah Winfrey will NOT save you. You are to take control of a tank and escort the scientist to safety. Be forewarned...you will die. You will fail. And you probably have no clue as to why. Obviously my advice is to take it slow and learn from your mistakes. You can jump out of the tank at any time, which is actually kind of a blessing. Doing this allows you to snipe some enemies and you can go back to where you left the tank and move it forward.
Once you make it through this insanely terrible level, you will earn an achievement that should be multiplied by 220958 since it's much more difficult than the gamerscore earned. When this achievement pops, take a picture and post it on your Facebook page:
Chapter 3: Desperate Measures
Mission 3-1: Clash of the Titans
You will be following a tank around the busted up city. I hated this mission because it seemed to me that the enemies were endless. But keep inching forward and nailing people in the face. I am pretty sure you can only be Bull in this level. I can't remember off the top of my head and it's been awhile since I actually played the game (I am writing this walkthrough going by my memory). But you will hopefully snag 2 achievements for this mission.
Try and snipe as many guys as you can and once you shatter your 75th face you will earn:
Now since you can only be one character in this level, you will only earn this one achievement and you do NOT have to play this mission again:
Mission 3-2: The Hallowed Halls
This mission consists of you running through a University and its hallways. Watch your corners and you'll do just fine. When you reach the theatre, you must protect some wounded sausage laying on the stage and then you also need to have some jerk fumble around with some keys so he can open a door for you. Watch up on the balcony for snipers. Once in a while, they may tag you and force you into hiding to heal yourself. After the door is opened you are now tasked with grabbing some explosives and blowing up some AA guns. Once that's done, just mop up some enemies and you're ever so close to getting this game done!
When you are finished with this mission, you will receive one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this level with the other characters to obtain the other 2 achievements:
Mission 3-3: Strategy by the Book
Now you are in a library and you have to run from the front of it to where ever you need to go. And between you and your objective is a booty-load of enemies. Eventually you will go down to the sewer areas of the library and you will most likely get smoked a few times down here. So be ready to load some checkpoints. Once your duties are done down under, you emerge back up to the library and escape out of a side door. It's a fairly quick mission thankfully.
At the end of the mission, you will receive one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this level to obtain the other 2 achievements:
Mission 3-4: Critical Mass
The start of this mission has you hunting for the reactor room. I personally died a ton down in this hell pit. So this is another legendary opportunity to watch reloading screens. You will eventually have to start up some computer or maybe you have to stop it...I don't know. The story in this game scrambled my brain. Anyways, you'll be in the room and you have to defend against the enemy. It seems like this will go on forever.
Once the mission is over, you will receive a couple of achievements. One will be one of these 3 achievements. Make sure to replay this level to obtain the other 2 achievements:
You will also receive this achievement for finishing this chapter of missions:
Final Boss Fight!
You have made it to one of the most stupid boss fights ever. Choose Ross as he can take a lot more damage than the other two characters. This fight is more annoying than tough. The boss has a pattern which you will soon learn. He will appear on one side of the room and go through the door and re-appear on the opposite side of the room! Try to use grenades as much as you can. Enemies will rush at you once in a while. That's fine though since you can top off on ammo and grenades. A tank will show up eventually but you can hide from that. Try and keep focus on the boss.
Emerge victorious and you will pop this achievement:
Congrats! You have completed the single player campaign for the worst game EVER.
