Dead Rising (Xbox 360)

Introduction

Welcome to the walkthrough for Dead Rising. This game is designed to be completed over multiple playthroughs and has no multiplayer achievements. Your stats can carry over from playthrough to playthrough (until the level 50 cap). The approach you will be taking, is to knock out the grindy zombie kill achievement first while at the same time leveling up, which increases your health, skills and inventory slots. Next, you will do a partial playthrough for collectibles and escort achievements. Next, tackle Saint and Transmissionary. Finally the long, boring Infinity mode.

First Full Playthrough: Zombie Genocider

The goal of this first playthrough is to unlock the Real Mega Buster. This is the best weapon in the game and unlocks once you kill 53,594 zombies and make it to the Helipad at the end of 72 hours. For this first playthrough, you will unlock a few achievements during the required time in the mall prior to being able to head to the maintenance tunnels to get your zombie killing quota. After getting the kills you will use the one game day left to get a few more miscellaneous achievements.

Partial Playthrough: Tour Guide/Frank the Pimp

You will collect PP Stickers, try on clothes, and kill a bunch of survivors in order to get to a cluster of female survivors that you can relatively easily get in your posse at the same time. You can also use the rest of your time in this playthrough for some other miscellaneous achievements.

Second Full Playthrough: Saint/Transmissionary with Overtime

On the second full playthrough, you will focus on completing all Case Files, escorting all Survivors, killing all Psychopaths, and getting every call from Otis. During this play through you'll unlock and complete Overtime Mode, which subsequently unlocks Infinity Mode. You will also photograph 10 Psychopaths and 50 Survivors.

Infinity Mode

Finally, you will tackle Infinity Mode. This is the best time to get "Indoorsman" and "Outdoorsman" as you will spend a lot of time standing around and eating every 20 minutes. There are two achievements that can only be earned in this mode and it will take fourteen real time hours to make it 7 game time days and unlock the second achievement. As with the rest of the game you only have one life, but the difference is you can not create a save to load back up, and if you make a mistake, you will have to start over at the beginning.

Game Time vs Real Time

One minute in the game is five seconds in real life. Here are some conversions to make your time management a little easier:

7 Game Time Days = 14 Real Time Hours

5 Game Time Days = 10 Real Time Hours

72 Game Time Hours = 6 Real Time Hours

24 Game Time Hours = 2 Real Time Hours

12 Game Time Hours = 1 Real Time Hour

1 Game Time Hour = 5 Real Time Minutes

1 Cutscene = 0 Game Time Hours

Managing Saves

The game will ask you to choose a storage device every time you save. If you have a memory card or USB drive in addition to your hard drive you will be able to create multiple saves. If you alternate saves on different devices you may be able to go back to a previous save file if on the current one you are running out of time or have missed the opportunity for Otis to give you a call. Manage your saves well and it will be less frustrating when you die unexpectedly.

Achievement Unlockables

Some achievements in the game will unlock items in the safe room when you finish a mode. A lot of the unlockables are clothes which are purely aesthetic. Listed below are the unlockables that will help you finish the game:

Real Mega Buster - Zombie Genocider - Kill 53,594 Zombies in one playthrough.

Laser Sword - 5 Day Survivor - Survive five days in Infinity Mode.

Overtime Mode - Unveil all case files and be at the helipad at the end of 72 hours.

Infinity Mode - Finish Overtime Mode.

Leveling Frank

Frank is the main character. He can gain experience, or in this game Prestige Points (PP) by taking pictures, killing zombies, killing psychopaths, saving survivors and unveiling case files. When Frank dies you have the option to Load a Save File or Save and Quit. When you Save and Quit your current level will follow you into the next playthrough but you will start the game with none of the items that you had in your inventory.

PP Bonuses

There are a few areas that have really good PP bonus for doing very little. Here are a few you can gain access to at the beginning of the game:

Paradise Plaza, Child's Play (P102)

- Spin the giant servbot's head by hitting it to match the swirly eyes with the frown for 10,000PP.

Food Court, Chris' Fine Foods (F103)

- Shoot all the plates on the wall for 1,000 PP each (x18!), and an additional 10,000PP once they're all broken.

Al Fresca Plaza, Flexin' (A104)

- Break a punching bag for 2,000 PP and an additional 10,000 PP once they are all destroyed.

- Run on a treadmill for 2,000 PP and an additional 10,000 PP once you've tried them all.

Wonderland Plaza -

After you kill Adam (the clown) you can ride the Space Rider for 10,000 PP.

Photography

Be on the lookout for dramatic situations. Some of these will pop a PP sticker above the head of survivors. You can potentially get thousands of PP for good photos. Camera controls are as follows. Pull and hold cn_LT to enter camera mode. You can use cn_LS to move and cn_RS to aim the camera. Use cn_B to zoom in, cn_A to zoom out, and cn_X to take the shot.

Eight Survivor Rule

Only eight survivors will be generated by the game at any one time. This is important when going for "Frank the Pimp" and "Saint." During "Frank the Pimp", male and inconvenient survivors must be killed in order to get eight manageable female survivors. During "Saint," speed is essential in order to get all survivors to spawn so that you can save them.

Leading Survivors

You have to get 50 survivors out of the mall for the Saint Achievement. Keeping survivors alive can be tricky. There are a few ways to improve your chances:

Use Waypoints - Hold cn_RT and press cn_Y to pick a point out in the distance that the survivor will try to move toward. Place a waypoint inside a bathroom if you want a group of survivors to stand around while you go find weapons or food. Survivors travel at different speeds so you can use waypoints to spread them out if they are preventing each other from getting through a tight spot.

Arm the Survivors - Some of the survivors will help themselves by accepting a weapon. Give them a weapon that is about to break or run out of ammo, because when survivors receive it, the weapon becomes indestructible and gets infinite ammo. Don't give them anything that you will want back, because when you finish the escort, the item is gone.

Feed the Survivors - Survivors can use food to replenish their health the same way you do. Keep them full to keep them alive but items that give you a small return will give survivors a larger health boost. Try snacks or chips and save the OJ for you if you need it.

Know your Survivor - Old survivors will run out of breath. Terrified survivors will move slowly. Unhinged survivors will scream and stand in one spot. Keep an eye on these types of survivors and assist them to keep them from getting over run by Zombies.

Lend a Helping Hand - Some survivors will allow you to hold their hand. This will make you and the survivor harder for the Zombies to attack. Move at a medium pace and the survivor wont let go. Some survivors will need you to support them with a shoulder or carry them on your back. When carrying a survivor you and the survivor can usually charge through a group of zombies without getting attacked. Safety in numbers.

Don't Leave Any Behind - If a survivor is left on the other side of a loading screen when entering a new area, the survivor will loose their health quickly. Make sure the survivors are close enough to doors or are up on the platform outside the safe room before going to a new area.

Answering Otis's Calls

Otis will call you when a scoop becomes available. Get to a safe place to accept his call because while talking to Otis you cannot use your weapon. Getting hit, taking damage, and transitioning to another area that causes a loading screen will all cause Otis to call you back and he will have to start all over. While you're driving vehicles you can answer Otis's calls without being interrupted.

Willamette Parkview Mall

Get to know the mall and stores in the mall. The guide will cover short cuts later but it will help that you have a good map when you are following the instructions. Also there is a map of the mall when you press Select in the game which will pause the game. Here is a great map scanned from the game literature that is hosted at Dead Rising Wiki.

DLC Costumes

There are 12 Free DLC costumes that can be found at the Dead Rising Marketplace page or through the dashboard as a game add-on. Wearing a costume does not offer any boost to your character or gameplay. The DLC Costumes can be found in the blue lockers strewn about the safe room.

For the first playthrough you will ignore all scoops and survivors. After Case 1-3 you will not complete any other cases and will finish the game by being at the helicopter pad right before noon on the 22nd.

At the beginning of the game, you may either play through the helicopter ride or skip it. If this is your first time playing the game, go ahead and play it so you can learn about the camera controls. You can get upwards of 10,000 PP playing this scene, but it is possible to earn many more times that by playing the first couple minutes of the game; you can safely skip it by pressing cn_start.

Make your way through the security room to the Entrance Plaza for the cut-scene. None of these survivors can be saved and are not needed to get any survivor related achievements. Go to the opposite side of this area from the mall entrance to the security gate which will force a cut-scene. Brad will tell you that you can get to safety by going up the stairs but before you join Brad in the security room climb up on top of the advertisement board in the center of the hallway. From here take a shot of the horde of zombies that are now all over the plaza. Play with zooming the camera a bit if you don't get it on the first attempt. With little effort you'll unlock:

Group Photo

TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get 50 Target Markers with the camera.

Run up the stairs and after another cut-scene you will be in the security room. Try to leave through the vent and Otis will give you the map and radio. Try again to go through the vent and once you are on the roof, head right, toward the elevator and find Jeff Meyer. Talk to Jeff to get him to join you. Then go around to the other side of the roof and find Natalie Meyer. Be prepared to take their photo as they get near each other, and when the yellow PP icon appears over their heads as they hug take the shot and you should net enough PP to unlock both:

Talk to them to get Natalie to join you. Now take them back to the security room.

For both Jeff and Natalie, and any other survivor you have to escort, you will receive PP when they join you and when you bring them to the security room.

Go back out through the vent, but do not take the elevator down to the warehouse. Instead go to the left through the door near where you found Natalie. Walk off of the top of the shelves to get:

Freefall

TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Drop from a height of at least 16 feet (5 meters).

Freefall

Continue out into Paradise Plaza. Prior to getting to the door, you will trigger a cut-scene where Jessie will give you a gun. After you enter Paradise Plaza head across the way to Child's Play (P102). Punch the giant Servbot to spin its head around so that the swirly eyes match with the frown for a free 10,000 PP.

Leave the toy store and go underneath the stairs into Bachman's Bookporium (P108). Grab Horror Novel 2.

Head upstairs through SporTrance (P111) and into Colombian Roastmasters and fill the rest of your inventory with orange juice. Head downstairs into the bathroom and make a save.

Go across Leisure Park and into the food court and you will get the cut-scene with Carlito. You can try to kill him from where you stand but I recommend that you run through the middle of the seating area and climb up on to the rafters where Carlito is and shoot him or melee him at close range. After the cut-scene, follow Brad to Entrance Plaza. While running through Al Fresca Plaza, when you get to the first umbrella you see, pick it up with cn_B like any weapon, and then press and hold cn_X and you will begin running. Just guide Frank into zombies avoiding anything else. After you knock 30 down in one run you will unlock:

Raining Zombies

TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Knock at least 30 zombies aside with a parasol.

Continue following Brad until you go talk to Dr. Barnaby. After this cut-scene, go upstairs to The Sinister Read (E201) and pick up Horror Novel 1.

There are 500 PP bonuses at each 50 zombie kill count interval, as well as 20,000 PP bonuses for each 1,000 zombies. Thanks to the books you picked up, that is increased by 25% of the original value each book for a total of a 50% increase. This means you are now earning 750 PP and 30,000 PP respectively for the zombie intervals.

Go back through Al Fresca to the Food Court then in to Leisure Park. Go toward the clock tower then veer slightly left to the narrow passage way that leads to the parking lot and hop in the red convertible. Head down into the tunnels by turning left through the horde of zombies and then u-turn around the light pole through that group of zombies. Pause and back up to the wall. Now drive forward at full speed and aim to the right side of the tunnel entrance and after you drive through you should get enough air for:

Stunt Driver

TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Jump a car at least 33 feet (10 meters).

If you do not get the achievement on the first try, you will have multiple opportunities to try again.

Once you are down into the tunnels, take a left and follow the tunnel around to an open area with a bunch of zombies and two cargo trucks. The truck in the back of this area is used for a later mission and is not running. Now go in reverse circles killing the majority of zombies in this area until the red car is destroyed or there aren't enough zombies left to kill to make it worth the effort. Jump out of the car and go to the working cargo truck, the one at the front of the open area, and head directly back out to the parking lot where the red convertible has re-spawned. With this abbreviated route, you should never be in the position of having to make a long trek back through hordes of zombies to a vehicle. Continue to repeat this route and fairly quickly you'll unlock both:

Zombie Hunter

TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 1,000 zombies.

As you continue to rack up zombie kills, you will randomly unlock different attributes each time you level up. These are Attack (seven levels), Speed (three levels), Health (twelve blocks), Inventory (twelve blocks), Throw Distance (five levels) and Skills. There are 21 skills and they are mostly special melee attacks, but include the Zombie Walk and Zombie Ride, which are methods of bypassing zombies without attacking or taking damage.

You should unlock Zombie Ride before you get to 53,594. When you do, the next time you get to the open area where you do the reverse donuts, get out of the car first and avoid the zombies long enough to get them to bunch up, then press cn_A to jump on their shoulders and walk around on them until you unlock:

Zombie Road

You should be sitting on over a day of game time left before you need to be on the roof. Use this time to get some of the less time consuming miscellaneous achievements.

Go to Child's Play (P102) again and pick up all of the Servbot masks on the floor and start putting them on zombies with cn_X. After you have used all of the masks, you can kill the zombies that are wearing them and reuse them until you unlock:

Overview

Restart 72-Hour mode with your previous save. This will be a partial playthrough for the purpose of getting the escort achievements, the collectibles and the most of the rest of the miscellaneous achievements. During this section, I will refer to all PP Stickers as "PPS#"; clothes (depicted by a gray icon with a black shirt inside) will be in italics; and food will be underlined. My numbering is not in accordance with any official numbering, but in the manner I felt was most efficient. The locations of PP Stickers are taken from Howard Da Ninja's excellent solution, the clothes from Rabb1t Rogu3's excellent solution, the list of food from Clever Jake's solution, and the Frank the Pimp information from the video by PJthePlayer2 and Perplexr linked by RRIKER.

Hints and Tips

When wearing clothing press cn_B to try on and press it again if you want to go back to what you were wearing before. There is a short animation that leaves you vulnerable, so you may want to clear out zombies prior to wearing clothes.

Upon taking a photo of a PP Sticker you will see a gray circle and the label "PP Sticker" will appear in the photo summary on the right of the screen. In some instances, when lining up a shot at a PP sticker, you may get other PP stickers in the background. You will get credit for it and you will not get the gray circle if you try to photograph that one later. You will be able to verify that you have credit for any sticker by zooming in on the sticker itself, where you can see a check mark.

Marathon Runner

This achievement will most likely unlock during this play-through, or at a later time as you naturally play the game so it will not be specifically covered. It simply requires that you cover 26.2 miles on foot and is cumulative over playthroughs.

Marathon Runner

TYPE: Total REQ: Cover a distance of 26.2 miles (42.195 km).

Partial Playthrough

Start a new 72-hour mode game and once you are back on the roof, go to the Security Room. At the bottom of the stairs is the bench with the bulletin board behind it, where you can save your game. Take a picture of the board for PPS1. As you enter the room where the vent exit is, turn left and you will now find the Real Mega Buster. From now on you will pick it up when we leave, and drop the one you have prior to reentering the vents. Go out into Entrance Plaza to trigger those cut-scenes and then return to the Security Room.

Grab the coffee creamer that is now on the file cabinet in the office and head back through the vent. Stop and turn around and take a picture of the vent for PPS2. Go ahead and pick up and photograph Jeff and Natalie return them for the PP they provide. This concludes all collectibles on the roof and in the Security Room. Now go back through the warehouse and into Paradise Plaza.

Go slightly left and take a picture of the bird clock for PPS3. Go into Child's Play (P102) put on the wearable servbot mask on the display in the back of the store and on the back of the huge servbot head is PPS4. Go out the door and on the cardboard cutout of the girl in front of Players (P103) is PPS5. Continue down this side of the hall to Jill's Sandwiches (P104) and find PPS6 in the middle of the sign. Go up to the entrance but not through the transition to Colby's Movieland (L1). PPS7 is on the main sign, PPS8 is on the Ratman cardboard cutout on the left, and PPS9 is on the Megaman 2 cardboard cutout on the right. If you have trouble with this one, it may be easier once you go through the transition to the cinema later.

Go back the way you came and start down the opposite side of the hall and across the hall from Jill's Sandwiches on the sign for Tunemakers (P106) is PPS10. Go past the stairs and under the second floor area and find PPS11 on the sign for Tyke n' Tots (P109). Go inside to the changing room in the right rear to wear the kids Ratman T-shirt and jean shorts outfit. Go next door to Ye Olde Toybox (P110) and on the middle bear behind the register is PPS12 and find the Bear Head to wear in the right rear of the store. Go inside SporTrance (P111) and try on the white shoes with red stripes (all rows have the same shoes) and between the basketball hoops on the stairs is PPS13. Continue up the stairs and in to Tucci's of Rome (P203) and find PPS14 on the green Mega Man shirt and try on the Tank-top and shorts outfit on the back wall and the baseball hat behind the counter. Head across the hall to Colombian Roastmasters (P202) and go to the back right corner near the stairs and look out over the ledge and attached to the outside wall of Colombian Roastmasters is a green circular sign with PPS15.

Pause here to make mixed drinks for the "Gourmet" achievement. Go to the counter and get two OJs and mix them for a Nectar and drink it. Get another OJ and mix it with the coffee creamer you have for a Quickstep and drink that. Grab two pies and mix them for and Untouchable and drink it. Go ahead and eat a pie here and then fill your inventory with OJ and continue.

Go next door to Marriage Makers (P201) and on the back of the vase in the middle of the store is PPS16. Head straight across the hall to the stairwell in the back corner. Halfway down is PPS17 on a poster for Kids' Choice Clothing. The best place to take this photo is at or near the top of the stairs. The first place you come to from the stairs is Universe of Optics (P112) on the clock is PPS18 and each of the five cases has a different pair of glasses to wear. The larger middle case has four clothes icons, but it still only has one pair of glasses. Across the hall is Cantonbury's (P107) with three things to wear, a fedora, black shoes with burgundy socks, and white shirt and grey slacks outfit. Go back out and to the right to the stairs. Go about halfway up and you are able to jump up to the blue ledge. Go down to the third ledge and find an SMG. Pick it up and fire all of the rounds. Come up here and do this every time you enter Paradise Plaza. Head back down the stairs and look left and find PPS19 on the sign for Kids' Choice Clothing (P113). Go inside and directly inside the door is a different kids ratman t-shirt and shorts outfit and in the back room is a wearable Horse Head. Go back out and turn left and go in to the last store on the left, Shoekin's (P116) and wear the white shoes on the rack closest the front. This concludes the collectibles for Paradise Plaza.

Head up to Colby's Movieland and after entering get PPS9 now if you had trouble with it before. Go left toward the concession stand and photograph the four posters behind the counter for PPS20, PPS21, PPS22, and PPS23. These can all be recorded with one photo. Turn around and go to the souvenir shop and PPS24 is on the fox cutout to the left, PPS25 is on the Ratman cutout on the right, and PPS26 is on the fox cutout just inside the shop. Also in the shop is the Mega Man helmet to wear. This concludes the collectibles for Colby's for now. You will have to go back later for two more PP Stickers, after you get "Frank the Pimp" and "Tour Guide". The only places left with clothes are Wonderland Plaza and Entrance Plaza which you will ignore until after you get "Frank the Pimp" and "Tour Guide".

When you go back into Paradise Plaza, Kent should be there, so go up to Colombian Roastmasters and shoot him in the face with the RMB. Now make a save, and then cut across Leisure Park to the Food Court. After you go in, the RMB should make short work of Carlito up in the rafters. Ignore Brad and photograph the PP Stickers here in the food court. You shouldn't have had to move to kill Carlito so look to the left at the wall of plates and on the chef statue is PPS27. Go out to the main walkway and look back where you were, which was Chris' Fine Foods (F103) and on the other chef statue is PPS28. Turn around and above the stairway to the main seating area is a bee with PPS29. To the right of the stairway is a cardboard cutout of a cowboy with PPS30. Now head through the seating area and above the exit from the seating area is a bull with PPS31. Go through to the row of restaurants, go right to Central Tacos, and then go counter-clockwise, photographing the signs of Central Tacos PPS32, The Dark Bean PPS33, Meaty's Burgers PPS34, Frozen Dreams PPS35, Jade Paradise PPS36, and Teresa's Oven PPS37. This concludes the collectibles for the Food Court, so meet up with Brad and head in to Al Fresca Plaza.

Once you enter Al Fresca Plaza, turn around and on the sign for the Food Court is PPS38. If you have already received the calls for "Barricade Pair" (Burt and Aaron) and "A Mother's Lament" (Leah), go ahead and kill those survivors. If not, you should have them available after you get finished with Dr. Barnaby in Entrance Plaza. On the right is Flexin' (A204). Go inside and behind the counter, above the poster of a fat kid is PPS39. Find the Flexin' Banner on the back wall for PPS40. Turn around and on the first weight machine from the counter is PPS41. Go to the stationary bikes and on the fourth from the counter is PPS42. Now to the treadmills and also on the fourth from the counter is PPS43. Finally, on the far wall from the counter between two posters of men flexing is PPS44. Go back out of Flexin' and continue down the right side to Brand New You (A102) right in the front on a pedestal with shoes is PPS45. Go across the way to Eyes Like Us (A107) and on the poster on the back wall, on the right is PPS46. Continue in to the open area and on the sign for Colombian Roastmasters (A108) is PPS47 and on the menu for Hamburger Fiefdom (A101) is PPS48. This concludes the collectibles for Al Fresca Plaza.

Now, the focus is on killing all non-essential survivors and unlocking the shortcut between Wonderland Plaza and Paradise Plaza. Go on in to Entrance Plaza and go through the cut scenes and then head upstairs to In the Closet (E214) once inside go to the back left to a closet and find Bill and kill him. If you still haven't gotten the calls for the Al Fresca survivors, wait until you do and then go through Al Fresca Plaza and kill those survivors. Wait until 6:00 PM for the convicts to spawn in Leisure Park and then, continue back to the Warehouse for the Queen cut-scene. When you encounter the prisoners and Sophie in Leisure Park, kill them all. Now get in their HMMWV and this will earn you:

After the queen cut-scene, go toward the elevator to find a zombie with a queen, kill him and take the queen. Now look out for another queen while going directly across the Leisure park to the North Plaza and keep looking for one if need be, until you find one. You will need a total of two queens by the time "Restaurant Man" starts. Once at the North Plaza, go to the gun shop and kill Cletus, earning you:

Hang out in the North Plaza until 9:00 PM and you get the call for "Out of Control". Once you get that, or if you already have, head down in to Wonderland Plaza and go to the Space Rider and attempt to stop it. Kill Adam and help Greg. He will take you to the restroom to open up the passage. Go through the passage with Greg, then kill him. If or when it is after 10:00 PM. Go back through the passage and go to Sir Book-a-lot (W204) and kill Shinji and Yuu. If or when it is after 11:00 PM return to the North Plaza and go to the "Shadow of the North Plaza" scoop and Kill David.

If you have been keeping up, you now have about seven hours until the next survivor you need to kill, so keep an eye on the time and head to Crislip's Home Saloon (L2) to start on the PP Stickers in the North Plaza. In front of Crislip's is a statue in a fountain. On it is PPS49. On the sign to Crislip's is PPS50. Go inside and behind the counter is PPS51. From the counter go to the right rear of the store and on a sign that reads "Gardening as a Pastime" is PPS52. Go to the Huntin' Shack (N127) and outside on the right is a display case with an American Flag with PPS53 and a cardboard cutout with PPS54. Go inside and on the deer head in the back is PPS55 and on the deer head in the front is PPS56. Continue to the other end of the North Plaza to Seon's Food & Stuff (L3). On the sign over the doors is PPS57. Go inside and look for the signs for the Meats, Seafood, and Pharmacy giving you PPS58, PPS59, and PPS60. Before you leave, grab the four items that need to stay in your inventory and turn bad before you can eat them. They are raw meat, frozen vegetables, uncooked pizza and ice pops. Now, leave and go in to Ripper's Blades (N116). In the North helmet display case is PPS61 and on the South helmet display case is PPS62. This concludes the collectibles for North Plaza.

At 7:00 AM on day two, once you get the call for "Lovers," go back into Wonderland Plaza and go to Run Like the Wind (W201) and kill Ross and Tonya. At 8:00 AM, after the call for Hatchet Man, go back up to the North Plaza and kill Cliff and then go next door to the unfinished store and kill Rich, Josh and Barbara. Head out of the North Plaza and cross Leisure park and go into the Food Court and wait at the entrance to Al Fresca Plaza. At 9:00 AM after the call for "Coward," go in to Al Fresca and to McHandy's Hardware (A105) and kill Gordon. Leave Al Fresca and go out to Leisure Park by way of the Food Court. Now go and wait outside of the entrance to Paradise Plaza.

This begins the difficult portion of "Frank the Pimp" and "Tour Guide." At 11:00 AM after the call for Restaurant Man, go inside Paradise Plaza and in Jill's Sandwiches, find and kill Ronald. Immediately go to the water feature in front of Child's Play and throw a queen at the feet of Pamela and then kill any zombies the queen didn't get. After she joins go inside Child's Play and talk to her twin sister Heather so she will join you. Go to the restroom where the short cut is and save and wait for a call at 12:00 PM for "Above the Law," and then wait until 1:00 PM for the unannounced "Hanging by a Thread" to spawn Nick and Sally.

Go through the short cut and save again and set a waypoint in the restroom to keep Pamela and Heather out of as much trouble as possible. Go South down the East side of the plaza and find a giant inflatable bunny. Hanging on the North side of the Bunny is Nick. Shoot him and go around to the South side and throw that second queen you found at the crowd of zombies below Sally. Throw a book or a food item at her to get her to fall and once she joins take her to the restroom and set another waypoint and save again.

Go back toward the bunny but turn and go up the stairs prior to getting to the bunny. The first store on the right is Lovely Fashion House (W208) where "Above the Law" is taking place. Go inside to trigger the cut-scene and then kill the Psychopath cop and rush back to the restroom to reset the waypoint as the cut-scene wiped it out. Head back to Lovely Fashion House and untie Kay, Lilly, Kelly, and Janet and escort them to the restroom for the shortcut. This can get a bit tricky as they are slow, get caught on the stairs and get caught up on zombies and you will spend this tedious trip trying to clear out zombies along the path. You may even have to call the four you just untied and lose the waypoint. After they break loose from the stairway, you can set new waypoint as far down the hall as possible to keep the other three from coming down too far in to danger. Once you herd them in to the restroom, hand out any food necessary for them and yourself (try not to use the four foods you got from Seon's). You are almost there.

Once through the short cut, you will get a cut-scene for the cult. Rush back to the restroom and set a new waypoint and head back to the box. Kill all of the cult members there and open the box to get Jennifer to join you. This will bring the number of survivors you are escorting to 8, all female, unlocking both:

Return them to the Security Room for the massive amount of PP and get a new RMB and save. Now back to the collectibles.

Check your inventory and the food you collected should have turned. If you can't tell, place them on the ground by selecting each one with cn_LB or cn_RB and pressing cn_down when they are selected. Now read each tag and they should be spoiled meat, thawed vegetables, rotten pizza, and melted ice pops. Eat them all and head back into Paradise Plaza and just stop in front of any of the cult members until they blow some powder in your face. You will wake up in a secret room in Colby's Movieland. Grab the ladder in the room where you wake up and start beating on the cult members until it breaks and then grab the sword in the other room with the cult members and kill the rest. Now take a photo of the eye on the red tarp for PPS63 and then at the back of the room take a picture of the fox cutout for PPS64. This concludes the collectibles for Colby's.

After escaping the cult you are in Leisure Park. You are in your underwear with no RMB, so it is recommended to go to the Security Room and grab a fresh RMB and come back. Go to the South of the clock tower to an intersection in the paths and PPS65 is on the clock face visible from there. Go jump on the roof of the covered picnic area on the East side of the park and PPS66 is on the clock face visible from there. Go to the flower beds on the North side of the park and PPS67 is on the clock face visible from there. Head to the parking lot where the red car and the motorcycle are and on the yellow sign above the entrance to the tunnels is PPS68. This concludes the collectibles for Leisure Park.

Continue in to the tunnels and go to where you went for "Zombie Genocider" and find the first of five cargo trucks for PPS69. In the same area on the wall opposite the trucks is a stairway and a door leading to the meat processing area. Go inside the meat processing area and on the wall straight back from the entrance is a poster for the cuts of meat for a cow with PPS70. Immediately turn left and at the top of the chute is PPS71. Leave this room and get in the truck there and head back toward the exit, but take your first left instead, then take your next left and go to the end of that road for truck two and PPS72. Turn around and go South. The road will turn you left and then you take your first right, and the road will turn you left again and continue to the end for truck three and PPS73. If your truck is in bad shape head North and then right at that intersection to get the white car. Either way, look at the in game map and drive to the circle and then head Southeast out of it to truck four and PPS74. Go back toward the circle, pass it up and take your first right, then take your first left for truck five and PPS75. This concludes the collectibles for the Maintenance Tunnels. See the below image for truck locations.

Bomb Truck/PP Sticker Locations

Come out of the tunnels and go to the food court. In the food court get the following items and take them to Frozen Dreams, even if it takes a couple of trips. From Chris's Fine Foods, two wines; from Central Tacos, two corn; from Meaty's Burgers, the baguette and cooking oil; from Jade Paradise, the two cooking oils; and from Teresa's Oven the baking ingredients. When you get there, mix the baguette and cooking oil for a Randomizer and drink it, then wait for the effects to wear off. Mix the baking ingredients and cooking oil for a Spitfire. Mix both wines together for a Quickstep and then mix that with a corn for a Zombait. Finally mix the last cooking oil with an ice pops that is already there for another Randomizer, then mix that with the last corn for an Energizer. This concludes all of the mixed drinks for "Gourmet."

Head out of here and in to Wonderland Plaza. Go into Small Fry Duds (W101) and straight back from the door is the kids pink and gray shirt and red shorts outfit and on a green and yellow balloon to the left of the register is PPS76. Directly behind the register is a sign with PPS77. Leave this store and directly in front of you is a play area. On the South end is a windmill with PPS78 and on the front of the yellow house is PPS79. Come out of this play area to the South and go into Estelle's Fine Lady Cosmetics (W110) and wear the blond hair and the pink hair. This will bring you to twenty clothes items and earn you:

Go to the nearby inflatable bunny for PPS80. Head North on the East Side of the Plaza until you come to Scuffs & Scrapes (W109) and inside on a red shirt on display is PPS81 and in the right rear is a changing room with a USA themed kids outfit. Go next door to Homerunner's (W108) and on a picture of a baseball team celebrating is PPS82. Come out of that shop and in this play area on the front of the yellow house there is PPS83. Continue North to Fanfare Fashion (W107) and in the back of the store, all three fitting rooms have the same dark women's suit outfit. Go toward the North Plaza and on the front of the other giant bunny is PPS84. Go up the stairs on the West of the Plaza and on the sign for Sir Book-a-lot (W204) is PPS85. Continue down and PPS86 is on the sign for Kokonutz Sports Town (W202) go inside and both fitting rooms have the same blue vest and cargo shorts outfit. Straight outside of Kokonutz is the ride, so focus on the main sign for PPS87. To the left of that is an astronaut on a space shuttle for PPS88. To the right of the main sign is an alien on an alien space craft for PPS89. Continue South down the stairs, cross the plaza and go up the stairs near the Southern huge bunny and stop about four or five steps from the top. This is a good place to frame up another astronaut and space shuttle for PPS90. Continue up the stairs and on to Modern Businessman (W207) for the yellow suit in the fitting rooms in the rear of the store. This concludes the collectibles for Wonderland Plaza.

Head back to the North Plaza and specifically Seon's Food & Stuff. You may have eaten some of the stuff in here before, but its best to eat everything again just to be safe. Also if you had to eat any of the four items that you were supposed to let change in you inventory, go ahead and pick them up again now. Now, clear out zombies or dodge them while you go down the produce aisle on the far right wall from the entrance. On this wall is zucchini, corn, squash, lettuce, cabbage, red cabbage, and Japanese radish. Now turn around and head back toward the doors using the fruit displays. On these displays are orange, grapefruit, melon, and apple. Then go right to left along the cold cases in the back of the store and consume orange juice, milk jug, coffee creamer, yogurt, and cheese. Turn around and head back down the cold cases in the aisle. First eat one raw meat and take another for later, then continue down to the milk carton. Now go to the main store aisles, starting with the one closest to the fruits. On this aisle in the middle is frozen vegetables. (You may need to break the glass doors in the main aisles to pick up the items in them) On the back side of the same aisle is uncooked pizza, eat one and take one for later. Go to the next aisle and on the cold side are ice pops. Go into the next aisle and on one side is the snack and the other side has cookies. Now go to the end of the store, past all of the aisles and pick up a baguette from the bread display and a wine just past that.

Leave Seon's and go to the food court. In That's a Spicy Meatball! (F103) is an oven. Put the raw meat in the oven and get a well done steak out. Then put the uncooked pizza in and get a golden brown pizza out. After you eat these, you should unlock:

Go through Al Fresca to Entrance Plaza to finish off all of the collectibles. Go right and the first store you come to is Men's Storehouse (E106). Wear the brown shirt and tie and trousers here. There is also an outfit that should be the same as the one in Cantonbury's in Paradise Plaza, but go ahead and wear it here, just to be safe. Go down two stores to Jason Wayne's Sporting Goods (E104) and find blue and orange Adidas looking shoes, the same red and white shoes from SportTrance in Paradise Plaza, orange Converse looking shoes, bare feet and what looks like a triathlon outfit. Next door at Refined Class (E103) is a women's suit and PPS91 is on the pedestal with shoes on it just inside the entrance. Continuing South is Sports High (E102). Inside on the green tent is PPS92 and there is a camouflage vest and shorts outfit on the clothes racks. Next door in Gromin's (E101) is another women's suit. Go across the end of the mall but stop in the middle to take a photo of the glass exit doors for PPS93. You may have already gotten this while taking the picture for the "Group Photo" achievement. If you don't see the gray circle when you take the shot here, try to zoom in and verify that you have a check mark. Go into Space (E113) for the red basketball shirt and shorts and gray hat. Continue down this side of the plaza for the white sun dress in the fitting rooms in Fashion Fiesta (E112), the dark trousers and jacket with fur lapel and cuffs in Distinguished Gentleman (E111), and the pink and black flower dress in J.F. Nichols (E110). Next door is Children's Castle (E109) with a demon head to try on and PPS94 on a teddy bear. Go up the escalator and at the top is Estelle's Fine Lady Cosmetics (E210). Go in and find black hair dye and gray hair dye and PPS95 on the poster on the back wall. Now do the same loop around this floor starting next door at Modern Businessman (E209) for a silver suit. Two doors down is Shootingstar Sporting Goods (E207) with a USA track outfit. Next door is Special Gifts (E206) with PPS96 on the green vase. Continue to Ned's Knicknackery (E205) and find PPS97 on the crown. Go next door to Women's Lib (E204) for a purple sun dress, then two doors down to Wallington's (E202) for a pinstripe suit. Go around the end of the plaza and stop midway and look back at the bee statue and take a photo for PPS98. Overview

When combining Saint, Transmissionary and Overtime in the same play-through, there are fifty-one survivors that you can save, which leaves you only one survivor that can die before you make it to the helipad. I recommend that you have unlocked the Real Mega Buster and are level 50 prior to starting. If you have not reached level 50, there are two good methods of leveling up. First method, start a new game and go back to the tunnels and farm kills like you did for Zombie Genocider. The other method is to keep running through the beginning of the game where you meet, photograph and bring Jeff and Natalie to the Security Room. Either way you choose, repeat until you unlock:

Otis will call you when a scoop becomes available. Get to a safe place to accept his call because while talking to Otis you cannot use your weapon. Getting hit, taking damage, and transitioning to another area that causes a loading screen will all cause Otis to call you back and he will have to start all over. While you're driving vehicles you can answer Otis's calls without being interrupted.

As you go along, I will highlight the notebook entries by number in bold as such: (#XX) Photographs will be marked SXX for survivors and PXX for psychopaths. Calls from Otis will marked TXX. The numbering used for the notebook entries is what is used in game and the other numbers simply count up to the required number for the achievement in the order they are encountered in the walkthrough. When you are ready, you will use a slightly modified version of the excellent "Dead Rising Saint & Transmissionary Complete Walk-Through" by CarlottaMonroe that is hosted at GameFAQs. http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/928326-dead-rising/faqs/4925... This information is used through permissions stated in the walkthrough itself.

Saving

During this play-through I recommend saving as much as possible. Every time you drop off survivors, save. Every time through the short-cut, save. Every time you have a spare minute, save.

72 Hour Mode

Skip all scenes untill you reach the rooftop with Carlito Keyes (#02). The helicopter pilot, Ed DeLuca (#01) will already be in the notebook. Enter the Security Room, save, and grab the Real Mega Buster, then go into Entrance Plaza and take photos of all of the people there prior to going to the security gate in the rear of the Entrance Plaza. This will unlock

They will all die and account for notebook entries #03 - #13 and photographs S01 - S11. After the cut-scene and returning to the Security Room, take photos of Otis Washington (#14), Jessie McCarney (#15), and Brad Garrison (#16) for photos S12 - S14. When you try to leave, Otis will give you the transceiver and mall map. Take them and head through the vent.

Go to the elevator to talk to Jeff Meyer (#19). Once he joins, go around to the warehouse door for Natalie Meyer (#20). Have your camera out for when Jeff catches up and sees Natalie and they hug. Take their photo for S15 and S16 and return them to the Security Room.

Head back through the vent and on into the warehouse. Listen to T01 about the map. Prior to entering Paradise Plaza, you get a cut scene starting case 1-2 "Backup for Brad." Go out into Paradise Plaza and go across the hall to Contemporary Reading (P101) for the Camera 1 Book. This helps highlight queen zombies. Now go up to Colombian Roastmasters (P202) and fill up your inventory with OJ. Some people like the skateboard, I chose to run, as you have full speed and I feel it is easier to control. The choice is yours, but if you prefer the skateboard, now is the time to get them by going across the hall to SporTrance (P111).

Now head across Leisure Park to the maintenance tunnels. Enter the tunnels and get T02 about the maintenance tunnels. Now go right, then left, and then right to the dead end. At this dead end is a room with the Maintenance Tunnel Key. Go inside and pick it up and go back the same way you came, change out cars for a new red convertible and head to the Food court.

Enter the Food Court to start "Backup for Brad." Use the RMB on Carlito and get a cut-scene where Carlito escapes, starting Case 1-3. After the cut-scene, run ahead of Brad and make your way through Al Fresca Plaza to the Entrance Plaza for another two cut-scenes. After these cut-scenes Case 1-4 starts.

Here you get the Entrance Plaza Intro call from Otis T03. Go upstairs and kill the zombies gathered outside of In The Closet (E214). Go to the rear left of the store to the back room and find Bill Brenton (#21) hiding inside behind the boxes. Take his photo S17. Talk to him and he will go to the front of the store and when he sees that it is clear talk to him again and he will join you. Go back through Al Fresca to the Food Court. Otis will call you about the Food Court T04 and at 2PM will call with the scoop "Cut From The Same Cloth" T05.

Go directly to Paradise Plaza and do this scoop. In Colombian Roastmasters you find Kent Swanson (#22) This scoop requires you to take a 500 PP photo of him taking a photo of himself and a 700 PP photo of him doing a fist pump. He will then ask you to meet him the next day with a 1000 PP Erotica photo. If you have the time, take Bill up to the Security Room and then head to the Food Court and wait for the following messages if you haven't received them by the time you get there. They are: at 4:00 pm the "Barricade Pair" scoop T06 and at 5:00 pm the "A Mother's Lament" scoop T07, so wait until 5:00 pm before entering Al Fresca Plaza for the survivors.

Once in Al Fresca make your way to Weber's Garments (A106) and find Burt Thompson (#26) and Aaron Swoop (#27). Burt will try to attack you so hit him a few times with no weapon and don't cause too much damage. After hitting him a few times, Burt agrees to join you, and Aaron will join immediately as well. Take their photos for S18 and S19 and then set a way point in the back of the store. Go back outside and clear out the area in front of Riverfield Jewelry (A103), go inside and jump over the counter and talk to Leah Stein (#28). Take her photo for S20. After she joins, put a way point for the entrance to the food court and then pick up Leah and take the three of them into the Food Court.

Wait here until after 6:00 PM for the Convicts cut-scene and then enter Leisure Park. As soon as the cut-scene ends, enter Leisure park and use Y to set a way point in a corner of the park and take Leah there and set her down. Locate the Convicts and kill all three and then run to Sophie Richards (#25) and once she joins take her photo for S21. Set a way point for the door to Paradise Plaza and go pick up Leah and head there and on into the Warehouse. Upon entering the warehouse you will see a cut-scene for the queen zombies. You want to kill these whenever convenient and keep a few queens on hand as much as you can. You should also get the night zombie cut-scene around now if you haven't already.

Bring the whole group up to the vent to safety.

In front of the vent is a good time to take photos for "Census Taker," so if you didn't take a photo of any of your group of survivors or can't remember if you have, do so prior to entering the vent. It wastes time, but you can also take their photos inside the back rooms of the Security Room.

Go in to the Security Office to save and when you do, you get a cut-scene that completes Case 1-4 and begins Case 2-1.

Head straight to the North Plaza through Leisure Park. Upon entering receive T08 about North Plaza and then go left and then take the first narrow hallway to the right to the Huntin' Shack (N127). Go inside and quickly take a photo P01 of the Psychopath Cletus Samson (#23) also find James Ramsey (#24) who can not be saved. Smoke Cletus with the RMB and then grab a few shotguns to arm survivors with later. Now head to the entrance to Wonderland Plaza, but not into Wonderland Plaza and wait for T09 "Out of Control" scoop at 9:00 PM and T10 "Japanese Tourists" scoop at 10:00 PM before entering Wonderland Plaza.

Enter Wonderland Plaza and get T11 about Wonderland Plaza and then head upstairs to Sir Book-a-lot (W204) and go to the back of the store and get the Japanese Conversation book from behind the counter and talk to Yuu Tanaka (#31) and Shinji Kitano (#32). Take their photo for S22 and S23. Arm them and set them a way point there in the store. Now go to the roller coaster in the middle of the Plaza and attempt to turn it off. Out of nowhere comes psychopath Adam MacIntyre (#29), quickly take his photo for P02 and then kill him. Go back to the control panel to turn off the ride and find Greg Simpson (#30) take his photo for S24 and then talk to him and follow him to the shortcut. If you haven't received it yet you will shortly get T12 the "Shadow of the North Plaza" scoop at 11:00 PM.

Go back through the shortcut and on to the North Plaza, follow the arrow to David Bailey (#33) talk to him and then take his photo S25 then carry him and lead the rest back into Wonderland Plaza and through the shortcut to the Security Room. Although it will not actually pop until you are at the helipad at Noon on the third day, these survivors qualify you for:

Head back to the Warehouse to wait, or if you have the time, refresh weapons, tools, and food in Paradise Plaza. At 6:00 AM you will get the call that Jessie wants to see you T13. Go back upstairs and get the cut-scene ending Case 2-1 and starting Case 2-2. Head to Entrance Plaza to rescue the professor and upon entering the warehouse get T14 about the gate to Entrance Plaza now being open. Once inside Entrance Plaza, you get a cut-scene and have to fight Carlito again, this time he has a sniper rifle. Run upstairs and shoot him with the RMB. This leads to another cut-scene that teleports you back to the Security Room. This starts Case 2-3 where you have to go get medicine. Dr. Russell Barnaby (#17) will also be here, so go take his photo for S26. This is also a great opportunity to get Kent's Erotica photo. Zoom in on Jessie sitting on the bed and get her breasts and a view up her skirt in the frame for the required 1000 PP.

Head through the shortcut to North Plaza to Seon's Food & Stuff (L3). Upon entering receive T15 about Seon's. Head to the back to get to the pharmacy and when you try to enter you get a cut-scene about Psychopath Steven Chapman (#77). Quickly snap his photo P03 and RMB him. Go get the medicine and if you haven't already you should get T16 the "Lovers" scoop at 7:00 AM.

Quickly go to Wonderland Plaza to Run Like the Wind (W201) and talk to Tonya Waters (#34) and Ross Folk (#35). Take their photo S27 and S28, and talk to them and get them to join.

DO NOT give Ross a gun. He will become unsavable giving you no buffer on losing survivors from this point on.

Arm Tonya and carry Ross back to the Security Room as quickly as possible. Tonya is slow and will stop moving if she is ever too far from Ross. Give the medicine to Jessie completing Case 2-3 and head to the warehouse.

At 8:00 AM you get T17 for the "Hatchet Man" scoop. Quickly go to the North Plaza to Crislip's Home Saloon. When you go in you get the cut-scene for Psychopath Cliff Hudson (#36). Snap his photo for P04 earning:

Finish him off and get the key from his body. Now, head next door to the unnamed shop for Josh Manning (#37), Barbara Patterson (#38), and Rich Atkins (#39). Take their photo for S29 through S31. For the next survivor you need a queen, so if you don't have one in your inventory, look for one on the way across Leisure Park.

When you enter Paradise Plaza quickly head right to Child's Play (P102) and throw the queen at the feet of Pamela Tompkins (#41). Kill any remaining zombies and bust through the window of Child's Play and go get Heather Tompkins (#40) and take her and the rest into the warehouse. Take the Tompkins Twins' photo for S32 and S33. If you haven't already, you will get T18 at 9:00 AM for the scoop "The Coward." Go ahead and turn in this bunch and the return to the warehouse and wait, or go refill supplies, but be back in the warehouse at 11:00 AM for two calls, T19 Jessie wants to see you and T20 the "Restaurant Man" scoop. Run upstairs to see Jessie starting Case 3-1 which is simply a cut-scene.

Head out into Paradise Plaza to Jill's Sandwiches (P104) and go to the back and talk to Ronald Shiner (#43) and give him food when he asks and take his photo S34. If you are 100% sure you have the time to take Ronald to the Security room and be back at Colombian Roastmasters by noon, then do so, otherwise just wait. At noon Kent shows back up and you give him the Erotica Picture. Also at noon you receive T21 for the "Above the Law" scoop.

With or without Ronald, head through Entrance Plaza to Al Fresca to McHandy's hardware (A105) and find Gordon Stalworth (#42) cowering in the back. Slap some sense into him (without a weapon) and then take his photo S35. Head back to the Security Room via the Food Court instead of Entrance Plaza for two reasons. One, to pick up a couple of wines for a later scoop, and two, to avoid being separated from survivors when the cut-scene you get from reentering Paradise Plaza puts you at the opposite entrance. After the cut-scene kill all of the cult members and release Jennifer Gorman (#44) from the box. Quickly get everyone to the warehouse and then take Jennifer's photo for S36. Now just wait for a call from Otis at 3:00 PM to return to the Security Room T22. Now go to the Security Room and again, it will not pop until you are at the helipad at noon on the third day, but you now have enough survivors for:

This return to the Security room also starts and ends Case 4-1 another cut-scene only case. After this cut-scene, Case 4-2 starts.

Now, go directly through the short cut to Wonderland Plaza to Lovely Fashion House (W208). A cut-scene introduces you to Jo Slade (#45) . Take her photo P05 and kill her earning:

Killing her gives you the four survivors she was holding hostage. They are: Kay Nelson (#46), Lily Deacon (#47), Kelly Carpenter (#48), and Janet Star (#49). Take their photos for S37 through S40. Head down the stairs to the big bunny and kill all of the zombies below Sally Mills (#50) and Nick Evans (#51) then throw something harmless at both of them to get them down. Talk to them to get them to join and then have fun wrangling all six of these folks back to the Security Room. Pause in the restroom at the short cut to take their photo for S41 and S42.

After delivering that crew go on back to Seon's and encounter Isabela Keyes (#18). Dodge roll and try to get turned around quickly to RMB her to conclude Case 4-2. After you take care of her, get back through the shortcut and if you haven't already, you will get three calls at 5:00 PM. T23 "Antique Lover," T24 "Mark of the Sniper," and T25 "The Woman Who Didn't Make It," all taking place in Entrance Plaza.

Go on in and head upstairs to take out the Snipers, Roger Hall (#52), Jack Hall (#53), and Thomas Hall (#54) similar to how you did with Sniper Carlito. Take photos of their corpses for P06 through P08. Now go down stairs to Gramma's Kids (E105) and talk to Jolie Wu (#56) when you leave to find her friend she joins you. At the top of the escalators find Wayne Blackwell (#55) inside Estelle's Fine-lady Cosmetics (E210), then head to Ladies' Space (E216) to find Jolie's friend Rachel Decker (#57). After she joins photograph them all for S43 through S45. Now take them all across to the other side of the second floor to Ned's Knicknackery (E205) to talk to Floyd Sanders (#58). Talk to him, get his photo S46, and then carry him and lead the rest back to the Security Room. Soon, or on the way back, at 7:00 PM you will get T26 "Ronald's Appetite" so make sure you have food before you head through the vent. After the you get up there find Ronald in his room and give him the food resolving that scoop.

Now is a good time to resupply and take a breath as there is nothing to do until midnight. At 12:00 AM, Otis calls with T27 to tell you to meet Isabela in the North Plaza (Case 5-1) and he calls with the T28, the scoop "A Strange Group." Go on to the North Plaza through Leisure Park and upon entering you should see Kindell Johnson (#59) talk to him and go to meet Isabela. Killing the zombie that attacks her ends Case 5-1 and starts case 5-2. Carry her and lead Kindell back to the Security Room. The easiest route should be through Leisure Park. Take Kindell's and Isabela's photos in the Warehouse for S47 and S48. Continue up to the Security Room completing case 5-2.

Go straight to Colby's Movieland to Theater 4 where you find a ritual taking place, led by Sean Keanan (#60) kill him and take his photo for P09. As you try to start untying his captives: Ray Mathison (#61), Nathan Crabbe (#62), Michelle Feltz (#63), and Beth Shrake (#64), cult members start to come in the theater. Kill them off and untie all of the captives and then go to the door in the back of the theater and open it to find Cheryl Jones (#65) locked in there. Set a way point by the door and take all of their photos for S49 through S53 unlocking:

If you don't get it here keep taking photos until it unlocks.

At 2:00 AM if you haven't already you will get T29 for the "Floyd the Sommelier" scoop. Also, at 3:00 AM you receive T30 to return to the Security room, so wait until after you get this call to bring this gaggle up to the Security Room. This starts and ends Case 6-1 which is a cut-scene about Santa Cabeza. After it is over, take the wine you picked up earlier to Floyd to resolve that scoop.

Now you need to go to the North Plaza to save three unannounced survivors that require you to have a picture of the vent door on the roof as proof that there is a safe house, so after you go out turn around and take a pic. Now head to the gun store where you killed Cletus and go in and quickly back out when they start shooting at you. Brett Styles (#67) comes out to talk and asks for the pic. Show it to him and he and the other two, Johnathan Picardsen (#68), and Alyssa Laurent (#69), will join. Take them to the Security Room, then return to the warehouse and at 5:00 AM receive T31 the "Long Haired Punk" scoop.

Now, go to Wonderland Plaza via Leisure Park, and the Food Court because you need to pick up another unannounced survivor Gil Jiminez (#66) in Chris' Fine Foods (F103). He is so drunk, you have to carry him, so carry him into Wonderland Plaza to Casual Gals (W102). Inside find Paul Carson (#70) take his photo quickly and then take him down with the RMB. This unlocks both:

After this Paul will be on fire so grab the nearby fire extinguisher and put him out. He will now become a survivor along with Mindy Baker (#71) and Debbie Willett (#72). Pick Gil back up and take all of them back to the Security Room and then go back down to the shortcut, but wait on the Paradise Plaza side.

At 8:00 AM you get T32 for "A Sick Man" so go through the shortcut and head towards Entrance Plaza and in the play area near the end is an unannounced survivor Susan Walsh (#74) on the soccer ball surrounded by zombies. Throw a queen at the base of the ball or shoot them all with the RMB. Grab her arm and take her in to Estelle's Fine-lady Cosmetics (W110) and talk to Leroy McKenna (#73) and then take them both back to the Security Room.

Head back down to the Warehouse and wait for T33 about Isabella wanting to see Frank. Go upstairs and watch the cut-scene which is the entirety of Case 7-1 and then head straight to Columbian Roastmasters and at noon Kent shows up with a hostage, Tad Hawthorne (#76). Kill Kent quickly because you get the next call for Otis while fighting Kent. Kent should go down quickly with the RMB, so answer T34 "Kindell's Betrayal" and take Tad into the warehouse and answer T35 "A Woman in Despair" which doesn't come until you are outside of Paradise Plaza. Go back in to Paradise Plaza and then to Players (P103), right next to where you found the twins and find Simone Ravendark (#75) and then take her and Tad to the Security Room. Go talk to Kindell to resolve his scoop.

There are no more survivors to pick up so go take care of the bombs in the maintenance tunnels. They are located on the white vans mentioned in the PP collector portion of this guide. Use that map to help you find them all. When Carlito comes after you in a white truck, jump out of your car and shoot him with the RMB. After taking care of all of the bombs you should soon get the cut-scene that shows Brad dying and turning. Go back to the room where you got the maintenance key in the beginning of this run and find Zombie Brad and take his photo for:

Now depending on how quickly you did all of that, you have some time, so ensure you have a hand gun in your inventory and wait in the warehouse for the next call. At 5:00 PM you will get T36 "Paul's Present" and T37 which is a call about Jessie. Head up to the Security Room and get the cut-scene that is Case 8-1, then find Paul to resolve that scoop.

Now follow Isabela to Carlito's hideout and watch some cut-scenes, completing Case 8-2, and then head back to the Security Room. Along the way, at 7:00 PM receive T38 "Simone the Gunslinger." Continue back and then watch the cut-scene when you arrive. Amazingly Carlito is still alive, but not for much longer. This cut-scene counts as Case 8-3. Go back into the tunnels to the area where you did the donuts for Zombie Genocider and go in to the meat packing room. Most likely you will receive T39 "Cheryl's Request" at 8:00 PM on the way there. This unlocks:

Now head back to the Security Room watching three cut-scenes as you go, culminating in the death and turning of Jessie. and then kill her. Now see the note on the desk from Otis telling you he left. It is now around midnight and you have until 10:00 AM before you need to be at the Hideout with Isabela. Take this time to get some achievements and collect as many queens as you are comfortable filling slots with along with your RMB and any food you feel you need. At midnight you get the cut-scene that the military has arrived. Go out into Paradise Plaza and find the Special Forces Soldiers and kill them with a few hits from the RMB. and the aforementioned "Humanist" and "Life Saver."

Overtime Mode

After the cut-scene you and Isabela are in the hideout in the North Plaza. Isabela gives you a list of items to collect throughout the mall. Check the map for locations, but the most efficient route to get everything is as follows:

1. First Aid Kit in the pharmacy in Seon's

2. Magnifying Glass in Wonder Jewels (W104) in Wonderland Plaza

3. Blender in Frozen Dreams in the Food Court

Go back through the shortcut in Wonderland Plaza.

4. Cold Spray in SporTrance (P111) in Paradise Plaza

5. Developing Solution in Cam's Cameras (P115) in Paradise Plaza

6. Perfume Bottle in Estelle's Fine-lady Cosmetics (E210) in Entrance Plaza

7. Camp Stove in Sports High (E102) in Entrance Plaza

Now head up the stairs through the formerly welded shut door directly into the Security Room. This is the door you go through in the very beginning of the game when the zombies breach the entrance to the mall.

8. Coffee Filters in the Security Room

Go directly to Isabela in the hideout. After the cut-scene, give her all of the queens you already have and go back out and get the last ones you need from Leisure Park and bring them to her. While in Leisure Park, investigate the clock tower and see the helicopter wreckage and find the generator there at the base of the clock tower. Grab it and bring it to Isabela along with the rest of the queens. If you still need queens go back out to Leisure Park. At some point, the military helicopter will have killed all of the zombies outdoors. If you still need queens by this time, head back into the North Plaza the get the last few.

When you have brought the generator and the last of the queens to Isabela, you will see a couple of cut-scenes. Now you have to head back to the Clock Tower and through the tunnel filled with zombies. Isabela has fashioned a repellent that she put on herself so you need to stay near her. Hold her hand and make your way through the tunnel. You will come to two gates that have to be opened from the other side. Let go of Isabela and she will go through while you kill zombies until she opens it.

After awhile, the repellant starts to wear off so you have to carry her. You will come to a final gate that requires you to go up some stairs and flip a lever. Go back down the stairs through the now opened gate. You now have a mad dash to pick up some of the food in the area and eat it while trying not to lose any more health from the zombies and the Special Forces guys that are now present and get in the HMMWV that is there.

Set Isabela down somewhere away from the door to the HMMWV because the game will make you pick her up again when you try to enter the vehicle. After you get in Isabela teleports to the other seat and then you get a cut-scene and go directly in to part one of the final boss battle, the tank. Technically, Frank is driving and Isabela is firing the .50 cal on the back, but game wise the driving is done by AI and you aim the .50 cal. What you are trying to do is shoot the compartments housing what looks like green headlights on either side of the front of the tank, directly above the tracks. Occasionally, a small sensor turret, also with green lights, will rise up out of the main gun turret. Immediately ignore the "headlights" and shoot this small turret. If you do it quickly enough, it will go back down without firing the main gun. After a while, the tank will start releasing groups of four small helicopter drones. Finally, it will start firing volleys of four homing missiles. When it releases these, shoot them quickly and then go back to shooting the lights. You will have a big yellow health bar for the tank in the bottom middle of the screen which very slowly depletes. Once you have taken it all of the way down, another cut-scene plays ending with you and Brock Mason, the leader of the Special Forces Operation, on top of the tank and part two of the final boss battle, hand to hand combat. Use your favorite unarmed moves, the jump kick (cn_A then cn_X) works ok. Try to avoid Brock's attacks, but be careful, as you can fall off of the tank into the zombies below, most likely taking damage. Going down onto the main chassis, while Brock is up on the turret can give you a bit of an advantage in helping your jump kicks land. After killing Brock, you get the final cut-scene and unlock these three achievements.

References

Most of the information on this page comes from the videos posted by YouTube user BP42069 aka BPBPBPBPBPBPBP. I also made use of a website called "Dead Rising Survival Assistant," found here http://hoddans.com/tool/drsurvival/ This tool, created by XBOX user hoddans (not registered on TA with that Gamertag), is simple and amazing. At the top is a running clock that shows how long you have survived. It has a button to pause if you need a break. It has a button to press that automatically accounts for the time of the transition screens, and can be reset if you forget to pause or unpause or click the transition button. Also at the top is a drop down menu showing all of the food items available in this mode and tick marks for the books that affect food values, that when ticked automatically change the value of the foods. On the left side is a auto-updating display of all of the characters that are anywhere on the map and the food they have and its value. On the right is a drop-down menu of all of the locations in the game and what static food is located there with its corresponding value.

This along with the first video from BP42069 are really all you need to get this achievement.

Preparation

This mode and getting all of the achievements requires your XBOX to be on for a minimum of 14 hours. You need to make sure it's sitting on a level, well ventilated, hard surface (not on carpet) that will allow it to cool itself properly. I personally pulled mine out of its normal position and set it on a raised wooden stool and aimed a strong electric fan at it.

By default your 360 will turn itself off after a few hours of inactivity. If you intend to pause and leave it for any amount of time, make sure that this option is turned off, even if you don't intend to leave the system on overnight. You never know when it will kick in.

Let everyone who lives with you or may come by before you finish to not touch your XBOX until you are finished. I had my sister-in-law come by while I was out with my family having dinner and she took it upon herself to turn off my XBOX as a favor, because it was left on, while my TV was turned off.

Be level 50. It is highly recommended in other parts of this guide, but it is absolutely mandatory for this method, due to the inventory and health requirements.

Differences

Forget what you know about the game. Everything important is different in Infinity Mode.

Frank constantly loses health, one box every minute and forty seconds. With full health, Frank will last 20 real time minutes or 4 game time hours. The greenish bar below Frank's health bars that used to display his level and PP acquired is now yellow and slowly goes down. After it depletes entirely, Frank loses a block of health.

The door from the Security Room to Entrance Plaza is no longer welded shut.

There are no save points and therefore no check points. You can pause the game, but you can not save. If you die, you start over. There are no Cases or Scoops and no survivors to save. There are just encounters. These consist of Survivors who will come after you with simple weapons and aren't hard to kill and will drop small value food items and Psychopaths who are slightly harder to kill but drop multiple food items including at least one max health item. These are all unannounced as you have no radio or any external assistance (provided in game).

In addition to food dropped by people you kill, there is what's know as static food. This is found throughout the mall and is a one time pick up. This means leaving and coming back to an area does not respawn it. Also, any food that you have picked up and placed somewhere else, will be lost forever if you leave through a transition zone. It will remain as long as you have not touched it. There are no infinite food locations like the OJ in Colombian Roastmasters . You can not use blenders to mix two low value food items to make a mixed drink which is a max value item, however some Psychopaths will drop pre-blended mixed drinks.

Hints

Don't kill any more zombies than are necessary. It wastes ammo and time enroute to the next food/safe zone. If you aim to the side of one, or between two zombies and jump as you pass you will be fine a vast majority of the time.

Eat the smallest value foods first. This allows you to stockpile foods letting you camp in safe zones longer, minimizing the amount of time you spend moving throughout the mall and subjecting yourself to damage. Try not to eat before you have acquired all three books. If you have to, don't worry, you will just have to find food to make up the difference.

Put your books between your weapon and your food items. This prevents you from eating something after a weapon breaks or runs out of ammo.

Once you have the two Health books and the Survival book, all food will restore either three, six or twelve health blocks, translating to one, two and four hours of game time respectively. After you have acquired all three books, do not eat in your camp site without picking them back up.

Every time you go through a transition you will be shown the time which is a count up timer. The format will be, for example, 02:13:15 with the word Days over the 2, Hours over the 13, and Minutes over the 15. This is the time you have survived, so two days, thirteen hours and fifteen minutes. This means it is the third day at 1:15 PM as this mode starts at midnight.

Using hoddans' Dead Rising Survival Assistant with a mobile browser may cause the pause button to appear to pause time, but then advance as if it were never paused

There is a glitch that will cause the game to hang on the loading screen if you attempt to enter or exit the Food Court essentially for the duration of day 5 (04:05:00 to 04:23:59)

∞ Mode

You will start to the side of the bench in the Security Room where the save point was. Go out to the room where the vent is and get the RMB. Now head through the door to Entrance Plaza and to The Sinister Read (E201) and on the Bookshelf behind the cash register grab the Health 2 book. Go back through the Security Room, through the vent to the roof. Immediately waiting for you is Otis. Kill that jerk for running off during the main game and grab his Raw Steak. Go into the warehouse and in the path from the open area to the elevators is Susan, already dead. Go get her Cookies and then go back to Entrance Plaza via Paradise Plaza. Go up the Escalators and kill Paul from a distance, watching out for the few zombies that are around and any RC cars he sends toward you. Pick up his Orange Juice, Well Done Steak, and Squash. Now go downstairs, through Al Fresca Plaza and into the Food Court. Quickly Keep left and head into the seating area and then climb up the boxes to the rafters where Carlito can be found. He will be in the same place as he was during the main story Case 1-2 "Backup for Brad." RMB him and the get his Well Done Steak, Yogurt, and Snack then go back down to That's a Spicy Meatball (F102) to cook Otis' steak. This leaves you two inventory slots for the remaining two books. Go into Wonderland Plaza and upstairs to Sir Book-a-lot (W204) for the Health 1 book, then on to the North Plaza to the empty room next door to Crislip's where the three hostages were during 72 Hour mode. Go inside and close the door, and on the floor is the Survival book. Grab that and eat your squash, now that you have all three books.

These books make every food item worth three times as much, meaning everything originally worth 4 or more blocks will now restore full health.

Now out to Leisure Park for your first camping area. Note the time on your transition in, it should be around 1:30 AM (00:01:30) and you will stay out here for 24 hours. Start by hugging the right wall to get to the red car from Zombie Genocider. Come back out to the park with it and run down the three Hall Family Snipers. This protects you from damage extending your survival time. They each have a Golden Brown Pizza, Orange, and Cookies. Now go to the covered picnic area and jump on top. You should be able to manage without assistance if you jump right at a corner post, but you can also use the Zombie Rider skill or the red car. Once on top, set up your camping area. Drop all books and foods that won't roll, in to piles. You should have a stack of books, a stack of three Well Done Steaks, an OJ, a snack, a yogurt and cookies. Now jump back down and gather the three pizzas, oranges, and cookies and one sniper rifle from the Halls. Go back to the roof and drop the pizzas and cookies. Jump back down and go pick up the three Cookies and the Snack over by the benches in the flower garden area and return to the rooftop. Once back on the rooftop, use the Rifle to look at the Clock Tower and verify the time with hoddans' tool. You should now have roughly 45 hours of food and you have probably been outside about 2 hours, check the clock tower to verify.

Stay on the roof and as frank loses three blocks of food eat a snack and so on through all of the snacks and cookies. At this point, the time should be about 10:00 AM (00:10:00) or slightly earlier depending on how much damage you have taken, and you should only have three oranges, a yogurt and your seven max food items. After the oranges and yogurt it should be around 6:00 PM (00:18:00). While eating these foods, practice seeing how close you can get eating food before the progress bar completely depletes but don't push it too much, especially when you are using full health items with your last health block. Now let your health get down to one block and watch the thin progress bar. Drink the OJ before it depletes, seriously DO NOT push it on this. It should now be a little before 10:00 PM (00:22:00). Go ahead and eat one of the remaining items just before your health depletes again and it should be just before 2:00 AM on day two (01:02:00) and you have full health and 5 more full health items. Wait here until you unlock:

Now head to the food court and through to Al Fresca Plaza. Isabela is in Al Fresca so kill her and take her Milk, Cookies, and Energizer. Head into McHandy's Hardware (A105) and find the Cookies behind the counter. Drop all of the food and go get the three Pies and Milk at Colombian Roastmasters (A108) and the Cookies in Riverfield Jewelers (A103). Camp here for a few hours, eating the three cookies and three pies at the appropriate times. After 7:00 AM on day 2 (01:07:00) (Check the clock in Flexin' (A104) if need be) pick up your food and head into the Food Court. You should have eight full health items. The five from before and the three you got here in Al Fresca. In addition you have the three books and the RMB to fill your inventory.

When you enter the Food Court find Rich up in the rafters where Carlito was and kill him for his Milk. This will be your next long camping area. Drop all of your food and then go gather everything in the Food Court. There is a Milk and Yogurt at Frozen Dreams, a Baguette at Meaty's Burgers, and two Corns at Central Tacos. Bring those up to the camp site and go back down to the front and get the four Wines from Chris's Fine Foods and Two Zucchinis from That's A Spicy Meatball and go camp. The time should be somewhere around 8:00 AM on day two (01:08:00).

There is no clock inside here so verify your time with your "Survival Assistant" when you enter and be as meticulous as you can on pausing and unpausing while in the Food Court.

Start eating when appropriate. You should get seven hours from the lower value food items, leaving six full health items. Start with the wines, because they can break, after that eat what you want. After drinking your fourth wine, you should be at full health and the time should be around 6:00 AM on day three (02:06:00). Before you have to eat again you should unlock

After you drink the two milks you got here you should be full health, with eight full health items and it should be around 2:00 PM on day 3 (02:14:00). Head across Leisure Park avoiding the convicts. They don't drop any food. Go into Paradise Plaza and kill Kent. Go half way up the stairs beside Kids' Choice Clothing (P113) and jump onto the blue awning and find a place to camp in view of the bird statue clock and drop your food and books. Go back down and get Kent's Coffee Creamer, Well Done Steak, and Pie and bring them back up with you. Now eat his items and at 11:00 PM on day three head back through the Food Court to Al Fresca.

Once there grab the three OJs in Hamburger Fiefdom (A101) and the Milk in Flexin'. If you managed to get inside Flexin' without breaking windows or letting zombies in, you are relatively safe here. Camp here or go back to McHandy's. After you eat what you gathered here it should be around 3:00 PM on day 4 (03:15:00). Now head directly into Entrance Plaza.

When you get to Entrance Plaza you may be low on ammo. If you are, avoid Sniper Carlito and go directly through the hallway to the Security Room and get another RMB and then return. Take out Sniper Carlito from a distance and set up camp behind the counter at Robsaka Digital. This is similar to McHandy's where zombies come, but very slowly and are not really a problem, but do require vigilance. Drop all of your food and go gather everything from this location. There is an OJ in the middle of the hall, a Grapefruit in Rafael's Shoes (E107), a Snack in Gramma's Kids (E105), and OJ in Kicks for Her (E208), an Apple and Yogurt inside In the Closet (E214), a Snack in Women's Lib (E204), and an OJ in Emerald's (E217). After bringing this to the camp site go back and get Carlito's Well Done Steak, Snack and Corn. After the lower value food items it should be the beginning of day 5. This is when the Food Court Glitch begins, thankfully you have no business there and can't even accidentally go there. You still have a Well Done Steak and three OJs to consume. After you do so the time should be about 4:00 or 5:00 PM on day 5 (04:16:00). You have enough food in your inventory to get to the end of day six, so you just need to get 24 or so hours more of food.

Now slowly make your way to Colby's Movieland. Go through the Security Room. Kill Chris for his Melon and wait an hour or so, then eat it and go through to the warehouse if it is before 7:00 PM Natalie will be here. Kill her and get her Corn. Wait until you are down three blocks, then eat it and go into Paradise Plaza and kill Lilly for another Melon. Go up to the blue awning for a couple of hours, eat the melon and then head to Colby's. Once inside, go to Theater 2 and drop your food on stage next to the Coffee Creamer and Pie. Now go to the concession stand and get that Coffee Creamer and the two Snacks; go back to Theater 5 for a Cabbage; and Theater 3 for a Coffee Creamer and Baguette. Return it all to Theater 2 and close the door. It should now be late on day five depending on how much damage you have sustained. A good estimate is about 8:00PM (04:20:00). After Eating all of the low value food items it should be early on day six, meaning you have unlocked:

After drinking the three coffee creamers, the time should be around noon on day six (05:12:00). Depending on damage taken, all the food you need and more is in Paradise Plaza. Go on in and set up camp on the blue awning again and gather everything in the mall. This includes: OJ in Kids' Choice Clothing; two OJs and a Pie in Colombian Roastmasters; and an OJ and two Baguettes in Jill's Sandwiches. You should have about 36 hours left to survive and 52 hours worth of food. All that's left to do is eat until you unlock
