Joy Ride Turbo

Welcome to the walkthrough for Joy Ride Turbo. This is what Kinect Joy Ride should have been.

The first thing to do is to work through the championship portion of the game. This will net you a good number of achievements and will also give you a feel of the game. You can also go for the car parts on each track whilst you are doing the races. If you do not want to do this, then just do it in quick race mode after.

Next up is the stunt park portion of the game. Here you shall be going for the collectibles. Even though it is mainly collectibles, it does not take as long as you think it might. It should also give you a few more achievements.

Time for the grind of this game. You need to get over 3 million coins. The way I recommend is to repeat one of the championships. There are other methods, but this the method I used and why the hours required numbers are so far apart.

If you have not done it already, the last thing is to do the time trial.

Hints and tips... Ummm, what to put here...

First thing I would like to say that a lot of the achievements in this game are buggy, so make sure that you get the achievements when you are meant to. I never had any issues with achievements not unlocking and I did it the way I have written the guide, so I am making the assumption that you should have no issues doing it this way too.

When grinding the money for all the cars, there is a method that does not need you to get all the money for the cars, you just need the exact money for the price of the car, as the game does not take the coins off you. I have not put this in here, because I am not sure if it will ever be patched and it can be a hassle to get the exact amount.

Once again, when grinding money on the 300 HP tournament I used the last sports car on the list, as this was the quickest one and has really good handling.

On certain parts of the guide I have recommended a car to use and the HP class. I suggest you use the cars I recommended, as I found it easier with those, but if you do find a better car for yourself then use that one.

Championships

Seeing as it is at the top of the menu, we will start with the championships. The only one that you will be able to access is the 100HP one. At first you will only be able to select one car in each of the categories, as you need to collect parts of cars around each track and stunt park to unlock all the cars.

As mentioned above there are car part boxes throughout the race tracks. They are easy enough to find for yourself, but videos of where the car part boxes are on each track can be found in my playlist, here. These can be done as you are doing the race or after in “Quick Race” mode.

Anyway, back to the championships. You do not need to win any of the championships - just come at least 3rd. Bear in mind though that you will need over 3 million coins to buy all the cars for the required achievement, so try to win them, as you will get more money. Once you have done the first 3 championships in the 100HP category you should have unlocked:

Flex Those Muscles

Complete your first Muscle-Only Series

Flex Those Muscles
3 guides

Keep on Truckin'

Complete your first Truck-Only Series

Keep on Truckin'
2 guides

Sports Star

Complete your first Sport-Only Series

Sports Star
2 guides

Now you just have to complete the main 100HP championship and you should also have:

Cup Rookie

Complete the 100 HP Series

Cup Rookie
4 guides

It is now just a case of rinse and repeat with the 200HP and the 300HP championships. Upon completion of these you will have finished the Championship portion of the game and also got 2 more achievements:

Cup Pro

Complete the 200 HP Series

Cup Pro
2 guides

Cup Champion

Complete the 300 HP Series

Cup Champion

Stunt Park

Now we will move onto the “Stunt Park” section of the game. I recommend you do this in two stages. The first is to get all the cars from the two areas. This will allow you to buy better cars when you collect the trophies. Two videos can be seen below detailing the locations of all the car part boxes here. Credit for the videos go to YouTube user, Pointy Pete.

Once you have them all and have all the race track ones, every car should be unlocked and you should also have an achievement:

Collector

Collect all 126 Car Parts

Collector
3 guides

Still in the “Stunt Park” mode, now choose a 300HP car (I recommend the Hammerhead muscle car). We shall now go for the trophy collectibles. They are all easy enough to find by yourself, but the videos can be found below if you really want to use them. Once again, credit for the videos go to YouTube user, Pointy Pete. One thing I want to note is to try and always have a blue bottle as your weapon/power-up, as this will give you a speed boost, even when your car is going vertically up, you will need it on some of them.

After you have all 40 trophies on a Stunt Park you will get the relevant achievement for it:

Crimson Completionist

Collect every Crimson Park Trophy

Crimson Completionist
1 guide

Perilous Perfectionist

Collect every Perilous Park Trophy

Perilous Perfectionist
1 guide

Time Trial

Just the last few achievements to go...

One of them is to do 50 consecutive laps on Time Trial mode. Load up Time Trial mode and select a 300HP car on the track, Rocky Road Speedway. You can get your lap time to roughly 18 seconds per lap on this track, so in total it will take you from 10 to 15 minutes to get this.

Endurance Driver

Race 50 Consecutive Laps in Time Trial

Time for the only grind of this game. You need to get enough money to be able to buy all the cars, the amount required for this is over 3 million. Some cars have multiple variations so use the RT and LT buttons to switch between variations to make sure you have brought all of them. You do not need to buy the different colours of each car, just the different variations.

After you have got your first 1 million coins (this does not need to be all in your bank, but is more a cumulative total) you will see the following achievement pop:

Fat Wallet

Collect over 1,000,000 Coins

Fat Wallet
1 guide

Now continue on buying all the cars and you will then see:

Full Garage

Purchase 42 Cars

Full Garage
5 guides

That is now all of the achievements done in this relatively simple game. Congratulations!
