Tekken 6

Hi there, Ackter here. Welcome to the Tekken 6 walkthrough. First some words from the original owner, BulgyDragonZord:

"Overall Difficulty For Completion Of This Game: 5/10

The purpose for this Walkthrough is to guide you to earning all of the achievements on this game.

Firstly, before we even start anywhere, I would like to thank Namco for doing the most incredible job of putting a Tekken game onto the XBox 360! It was the one thing that saved me from picking up a Playstation 3 (no offence).

Tekken 6 is a Fighting Game developed by Namco Bandai and, as you guessed from the previous comment, it is the first game in it's series to be released on the XBox 360, and a different format, other than the Arcades and the Playstation Consoles.

The game has had a major update from its previous titles. It features a vast selection of characters you can choose from, each of them with their own Story which you can discover by playing through the Arcade Mode or Scenario Arena. It has larger Stages you can battle in, a Scenario Campaign Mode which places the character you are playing in a Third Person view allowing you to advance in stages, kind of like Streets of Rage. It has a money currency called G's which you use to buy equipment and clothing to customize your characters (and boost their stats in Scenario Mode). Also, as expected, it has a popular multiplayer mode which allows you to take your fights online via XBox Live.

The game has a total of 50 Achievements worth 1000G Gamerscore! Of all of the achievements 45 of them can be earned with or without XBox Live. The other 5 achievements need to be earned online, but they can be done by yourself or with a partner."

Thanks to BulgyDragonZord for those words.

Right, the way this walkthrough will be set out is as follows:

1. Offline Mode

2. Scenario Campaign

3. Scenario Campaign Arena

4. Online Mode

This way, you'll at least have a decent chance of knowing enough about your chosen character to stand a chance online. It should take between 15 and 30 hours to get the full 1000G, depending on previous Tekken experience.

Online Tips:

Practice, practice, practice. You're going to lose - a lot - but every loss is a chance to learn a little more about your character and how s/he fares against the others in the roster. If you don't feel right using a character, switch to another until you find someone you like the feel of, then stick with them until you're a Tekken god.

Offline Tips:

Pretty much the same as above, except it'll be much easier (comparatively). There are also a few things you can do in the options to lower the difficulty considerably and these will be mentioned in the walkthrough.

Scenario Tips:

Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. Items will be dropping left, right and centre throughout this mode (which you can boost even further with certain items). Keep checking between stages to see if you can improve your setup.

During any collapsing floor section of the Scenario Campaign, the best way to proceed is to knock someone down and then slam them (Lars’ combo of XXXX slams the floor on the final hit if the opponent is down) and the floor will collapse, killing every other enemy that falls down with it.

When facing the Formidables, it’s best to have one person distract and the other attack from behind. It’s almost always beneficial to double team every opponent you find, just remember to time your attacks to keep up a barrage of blows.

Practice Mode

Firstly, head to Practice mode and play around with the characters until you find someone you like. This character will be your choice for completing every achievement in the game, so make sure you’re comfortable with how they work. My suggestion would be one of Bob, Dragunov, Hwoarang, Jack-6, Lili and Law as they’re a mixture of pretty powerful and reasonably easy to use for a beginner. Lili is widely regarded as the easiest character to learn in Tekken 6. Jack-6 is easily the best for taking out NANCY-MI847J.

Keep practicing, going through the command lists, learning a few easy combos and specials etc and, after you’ve inflicted enough damage, you’ll unlock:

Practice Makes Perfect

Inflict a total of 1000 damage in Practice in Offline Mode.

Arcade Battle

Once you’re happy with your character, head to Arcade Battle. You’ll now face a random assortment of opponents, one after the other. If you’re struggling, make sure to set the game to Easy, One Round and 30 second Timer in the options as this makes the entire thing more manageable.

Around the 7th stage, you’re likely to unlock the Extra Round and face off against NANCY-MI847J. Defeat it and you’ll unlock:

Machine Crusher

Defeat NANCY-MI847J.

As you can imagine, NANCY takes very little damage and absolutely destroys the hell out of you with the slightest of touches. Whether you win or lose against NANCY, you’ll continue on with Arcade Battle. Eventually you’ll face Azazel. Beat him to unlock:

Arcade Addict

Clear the Arcade Battle in Offline Mode.

Ghost Battle

Here, all you need to do is beat 30 characters. They don’t have to be in a row, or with the same character, just in total. After your 30th win, you’ll unlock:

Ghost Vanquisher

Defeat 30 Ghosts.

Ghost Vanquisher

(Note: This seems to count wins in other game modes as well, as I unlocked it after my 13th Ghost Battle win).

Team Battle

Here you just need to win three team battles and, bizarrely, Tekken considers one person to be a team. You can just rematch the same fight three times in order to get it. After your third victory, you’ll unlock:

Team Toppler

Defeat 3 teams in Team Battle in Offline Mode.

Survival

The aim here is to beat 10 opponents in a row while you only have the one health bar. However, you will regain a small amount of health between each opponent. After your 10th win, you’ll unlock:

Survival of the Fittest

Earn 10 consecutive wins in Survival in Offline Mode.

While all but one of the Scenario Campaign achievements can be done in co-op, it’s perfectly possible to go through it with an AI partner. This should also make it easier for you to keep combos going and rack up the kill requirements for a number of the achievements.

Note: the placement of achievements in this guide is where they unlocked for me but, due to the random nature of the weapons, item drops, stage replays and other factors, they could unlock earlier or later for you.

After a series of hand-drawn intro movies, recapping the events of the previous King of Iron Fist tournaments (don’t feel bad about skipping them, the story is typically inconsequential fighting game fodder and also pretty dull), you’ll be shown the intro movie that actually matters – a full CGI experience that’s really easy to differentiate from the previous ones and isn’t really boring.

With all of that done, you’ll find yourself in the tutorial level. Defeat your opponents (you’re invincible for this bit) for another extended CGI sequence. Eventually, you’ll find yourself back in control, but still in the tutorial level. This time you actually have health and, in true Tekken style, it will disappear quickly. Run down the path, taking out the enemies as you go. Smash every crate as you go to receive items and also work towards some achievements.

At the end of the path is a more formidable enemy. Defeat him to complete the stage and unlock:

Learning is Fun

Clear the tutorial stage in Scenario Campaign Mode.

You will also be awarded with some items that come with their own stats boosts and effects. For example, I received a pair of glasses which added a chance to inflict lightning damage with my attacks. You can now also unlock one character to be used in the Campaign instead of the default. Personally, I unlocked Steve as he’s been my main character for years.

You’ll now be on the map screen. You can pause the game here to customise and switch your character. In single player mode, you can equip items on your partner by altering their character in the customise menu. You should be customising your character between every stage as you will be unlocking new and hopefully better items as you go along. On the character select screen, selecting someone using the X button loads the 1P Model, while selecting them with START or A selects the 2P Model.

Note: if you select two items that have the same effect, only one of them will actually work so make sure you don’t double up.

When you’re finished, select the Southern Woodlands area to begin the next stage.

Southern Woodlands

Proceed along the path, beating the crap out of anyone who turns up. You’ll notice that everyone here is a lot weaker than the tutorial stage. Remember to ensure you pick up everything that’s dropped by defeating opponents and smashing crates etc. In a short while, you’ll come to a set of gates and be swarmed by enemies. Keep your eye out for a tiny grey alien who should pop up here as well. You’ll need to kill him for progress towards an achievement. You’ll also very likely unlock:

Combo Amateur

Perform a 10 chain combo in Scenario Campaign Mode.

With the opponents dead, the gates ahead will open and you’ll face the area boss: Bryan. He will be considerably tougher than the normal enemies and you’ll probably fail quite a few times before you get used to it. The good thing is that failing still counts your progress towards achievements. Break the crates around the arena for items and there should be a weapon in one of the corners. Pick it up with A and use it with Y to kill someone and unlock:

Give Your Fists a Rest

Defeat an enemy using a weapon in Scenario Campaign Mode.

If your partner is defeated, stand over them and hold A to revive them. If you’re playing in single player, revive your partner three times to unlock:

Defeat Bryan to complete the stage. This will unlock the South Bay Warehouse Area and the Arena.

South Bay Warehouse Area

After the first corner you’ll find a couple of crates. One of them is likely to contain a weapon so grab it and use it when you can - it won’t last long. At the end of the stage you’ll face Miguel to complete the stage and upgrade Alisa’s AI to level 2. This will also open the Container Terminal 3 and Queen’s Harbour stages.

Container Terminal 3

Here you’ll be facing a lot of Jacks and other mechanised characters. Keep breaking open the crates as you go along and you’ll find another weapon, just in time to take on a formidable Jack. After a row of four crates, you’ll fight another formidable enemy or two.

As you proceed onwards, you’ll reach the Boss fight against Jack-6. In the corner by the water is a crate and some items, including a small yellow flag with a red S. Pick it up to unlock:

What's So Special About It?

Obtain the Special Flag in Scenario Campaign Mode.

This is a particularly hard fight as Jack-6 hits incredibly hard and there are a large number of minions around as well. Luckily it’s possible to knock people into the water, including Jack-6 himself, which can make the fight considerably easier and also gain progress towards an achievement.

Queen’s Harbor

Here you’ll be facing a lot of agile agent characters, but there shouldn’t be any problems. After a couple of corners, you’ll face Lili. Make sure to smash the crates behind her. You’ll be fighting her in a pretty small area so it’s quite easy to force her into a corner and absolute decimate her.

Defeating her will unlock Container Terminal 7. And she’ll give you a car. No, I don’t really know why, either.

Container Terminal 7

Here you’ll be facing some military guys who pack a hell of a punch and, to top it off, some of them have guns. Take the armed enemies out as soon as possible. The second crate you find will have a weapon in it. As you near the half way point of the stage, you’ll see three guys just standing next to the water; make sure to knock them off the edge.

If you find yourself at a dead end, you should be able to smash a huge bank of crates to reveal the way forward. There are enough enemies in this stage to easily unlock:

Combo Enthusiast

Perform a 30 chain combo in Scenario Campaign Mode.

Soon you’ll turn a corner and face Dragunov. He has some very nasty moves, but again the area is small so it’s easy to corner and beat him. After a cutscene you will unlock:

Alisa’s AI will now be level 3 and you’ll unlock the Fujian Tulou stage.

Fujian Tulou

This level’s a bit different and has choices about which way you can go.

Go left and you’ll be swarmed by a lot of agile agents and a couple of Formidables. When you reach and break through a load of stacked lanterns, you’ll enter a small arena to fight Wang.

Go right and you’ll face pretty much the same things, except with added Ninja. As you go along you’ll find three crates next to each other, one of which contains a weapon. Use it as much as you can. Eventually you’ll reach Wang and, if you’re lucky and still have the pipe still in hand, a slightly easier fight.

Either way, you’ll unlock the West District, Wild Kingdom and Mishima Polytechnic stages.

Mishima Polytechnic

Here you’ll quickly find another weapon, so use it to beat your way down the road where Xiaoyu will soon face you before running away. Be careful, she brings Panda with her. Around a couple more corners you’ll face Xiaoyu again and unlock the Industrial Complex stage.

West Coast Canal Industrial Complex

Pretty early on in this level you’ll find a weapon in a crate. This is a very good level to unlock:

Just keep running between the enemies as fast as you can, remembering that breaking crates will keep your combo going. Also around now you’ll likely unlock:

Soon you’ll face Baek in a surprisingly easy fight. He only has a couple of minions so you and your partner should easily destroy him to unlock the Industrial Highway stage.

Industrial Highway 357

Run along this stage fighting the enemies, shortly after the second boat goes past on the left, there will be an Alien hiding behind some containers to the right. There will also be an armed enemy here, so make sure to take him out asap. You’ll soon be jumped by a large number of enemies and it’s very easy to fail here, so be careful and try not to get surrounded.

Soon you’ll reach five crates in a line to your right. In one of these is a weapon, which makes it much easier to deal with the swarms of enemies. You’ll reach another set of four boxes soon and you’ll face Hwoarang. Defeat him to unlock:

Locate the Target

Alisa’s AI will now reach level 4 and you’ll unlock the Nature Park and Excavation Site stages.

West District, 13th Avenue

Head to the right or left here and an enemy will drop down. Head forwards to continue the level. In this stage you’re very likely to unlock:

Enemy Hunting Amateur

Defeat 300 enemies in Scenario Campaign Mode.

You’ll quickly reach a crate with a X2 bonus in it. Pick it up and go to town on the enemies. Soon Paul will appear before quickly running away again. Nearby where he breaks through is a crate with a weapon in it. Soon, you’ll face Paul again properly. In the far left of his arena are three crates, one of which contains another pipe. This will unlock the Chinatown and Abyss Gate stages.

West District, Chinatown

To the left of where you start will be a crate with a weapon in it. Yes, you can beat up the farm animals if you want, though you don’t get anything for it. Soon you’ll find another two crates with a weapon in one of them. In fact, there are weapons in crates all over this stage, which is nice.

Soon you’ll face Law, all on his own. There’s another weapon in the crates here. You should have no problems whatsoever beating the living crap out of him.

Abyss Gate

Firstly, load this level up in Hard mode. The crate to your left at the start will contain a ninja. Defeat him and he’ll drop a scroll. Pick this up to unlock Kigan Island. You can try completing the rest of the level now, but you’ll most likely die quickly. If so, change the difficulty back to Easy and try again.

This time, the crate on your left will be a weapon. After beating up a load of people, the gates ahead of you will open. Head through and there’s an Alien hiding in the centre crate. Be careful not to backtrack until the Alien is dead, as you’ll fall through the floor to the next section of the level. You’ll keep falling down, level after level, until you reach Steve. Be careful, he’s one of the most dangerous characters in the game.

Kigan Island

As you’d expect for a secret stage, this is incredibly hard. It’s a very long level full of different ninjas.

After many corridors and collapsing floors, you’ll face Yoshimitsu. The good thing is, if you make it to Yoshimitsu, you no longer have to replay the first part of the level, you’ll just face him when retrying.

Defeating him will unlock:

Eastern Explorer

Clear the Kigan Island stage in Scenario Campaign Mode.

Mixed Martial Arts Gym “Wild Kingdom”

Very soon you will come to a section where the camera pans around to your right. However, don’t go that way yet as slightly to the side of this turning you will find some crates to smash. Very soon, you’ll get to your first doubles Boss battle, against King and Marduk. This is not a nice combination. Luckily, they’re both reasonably slow so quick jabs are your friend here. There is also a weapon in one corner of the ring. Defeating them will unlock the Lost Cemetery stage.

Lost Cemetery

After the first group of enemies, you’ll find a weapon in a crate on your right. Soon, you’ll reach the Boss fight with Armor King. The crates around the edges of the arena contain health, but you’re unlikely to need them.

Defeating him will raise Alisa’s AI to level 5.

16th Archaeological Expedition’s Excavation Site

There are two crates directly behind you here, containing a X2 multiplier and a weapon. Be careful in this area and keep an eye on the water on the left. If you see someone jump out, step backwards or you’ll get hit by some pretty damaging boxes from above. Soon you will see two crates in front of an archway, each containing a ninja. The floor through the archway will collapse, and you’ll work your way down until you reach an extra formidable enemy. This guy blocks, a lot, so can be quite difficult to take down. Your best bet is to let your partner distract him, then attack from behind.

Somewhere around here you should unlock:

Ready for Action

Pick up 300 health recovery items in Scenario Campaign Mode.

This will open a large door leading to a long passage. Watch the floor for shadows here as boxes will continually drop down on your head. Soon you’ll face Leo. Boxes will continue to fall from above here, so stick to the coloured circle in the middle to avoid them.

This will unlock the Secret Underground Passage stage.

Now try and repeat this level on Hard mode. If you manage to complete it, you’ll unlock the Subterranean Pavilion. There’s a good chance you’ll be considerably too weak to do this now, so I won’t mention in the guide until much later.

North Nature Park

Here, you’ll be fighting a load of bears. A load of suspiciously cub-like bears. Okay, you’re basically beating up a load of baby bears. There’s a crate directly behind you containing a weapon, to make you feel even worse about it all. Just when your weapon wears out, you should be next to a bunch of crates containing another one. You will also soon likely unlock:

Crate Breaker

Destroy 100 wooden crates in Scenario Campaign Mode.

After crossing a bridge, you’ll fight Kuma and some more cubs. Luckily, there’s another pipe here that will make short work of them all, you monster. This will unlock the Aranami Stable stage.

Aranami Stable

This stage is absolutely stuffed with Sumo wrestlers. They block a lot, hit hard and have a reasonably high health for a basic minon. You will also be fighting a load of black-clad ninjas. Soon you will be ambushed by Ganryu but also be on the lookout for a little Alien who should be just a little further down the path – he’ll run away if you don’t get to him quickly. If you don’t see him, he’ll turn up later. Somewhere soon you’re likely to unlock:

Treasure Amateur

After Ganryu runs away, you’ll find a weapon on the road. After a bit more fighting, Ganryu will appear again before yet again running away. If you didn’t see the Alien earlier, he’ll be here instead. You’ll soon enter an arena to fight Ganryu proper, and he’ll be surrounded by Sumos making this a very difficult fight. You’re also likely to unlock:

Brute Force

Defeat 100 enemies with the Lead Pipe in Scenario Campaign Mode.

Secret Underground Passage

Be careful in this stage and watch the floor as this is another place where boxes fall from above. There is a crate directly behind you containing a special flag. Soon, on your right, you’ll find a crate holding a weapon. There will also be a number of large robots who drop weapons when killed. You will soon face Raven and, as you probably still have a weapon, this is going to go very badly for him.

Defeating him will unlock Mishima Estate and increase Alisa’s AI to level 6.

Mishima Estate

Here you’ll be facing a mix of enemies, and a load of Formidables. It’s very easy to be surrounded so proceed carefully. It also has several ways through the level, seemingly decided randomly. Down one of the paths, you’ll find a load of money lying on the floor, but this just seems to be where the Mishima keep their cash as it’s not booby-trapped or anything. You will come to a long path leading to Heihachi in the distance, but before you come to him you’ll face some more enemies, one of whom (if you’re lucky) will drop a weapon. Bring it with you, it’ll be handy. Heihachi and his minions hit really hard, so be careful.

You should by now also be getting some higher grade item drops, so make sure you keep switching between battles.

Defeating Heihachi will unlock:

It will also unlock the ICPO Branch Office and 11th Avenue stages.

Central District, 11th Avenue

This is like something out of a futuristic Streets of Rage, which is awesome. In the many crates along the sides of the level you’ll find weapons. At the end you’ll fight Bob who, as a combo-machine, can be easily lethal. There’s health in the crates behind him, and you’ll probably need them.

Defeating him will unlock the Seahorse Grand Hotel.

ICPO Branch Office

Here you’ll be facing a load of army guys with elemental attacks, so be very careful as your health can disappear in a second. Soon you will meet someone and need to help them out (it’s Lei). When you’ve done that, the camera will turn to face the right. However, before going down that route, continue on to the side to find an Alien in a crate. This area has no real boss, so will be pretty easy to complete. This will unlock the Kazama-Style Dojo and Deserted Temple stages.

Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts Dojo

The first box you find on the left of the stage will have a weapon in it. Soon after it runs out, you’ll find another. At the end of this level you’ll face Asuka in a very narrow street, so it’ll be easy to corner and beat her. Defeating her will raise Alisa’s AI to level 7.

Deserted Temple

Proceed down the level and you’ll eventually be attacked near some planks of wood leaning against the wall. It’s likely that a weapon will drop during this short fight. At the end of this level you’ll face Feng, and very likely unlock:

Love That Money

Collect more than 5,000,000 G.

Defeating him will unlock the Violet Systems stage.

Seahorse Grand Hotel

Very soon on starting this level you’ll reach a fork in the road. Take the right path to find an Alien and some exotic dancers to beat up. Also, kangaroos. At the end you’ll fight Christie, defeating her opens the Research Station Ruins stage. If you took the left path, you will not unlock this stage.

Mishima Industries, Biotech Research Station Ruins

Here you’ll find more bear babies to beat up, but mostly it’ll be kangaroos. There’s also some sheep to knock around, but that doesn’t really achieve anything. At the end of all this you’ll almost inevitably have to beat up Roger Jr., the baby kangaroo.

Violet Systems

After a couple of corners, you’ll find a weapon in a crate to your left. You’re about to get surrounded, so you’ll need it. Around the next corner will be a weapon. The boss for this stage will be Lee, but the weapon will make short work of him. Defeating him will unlock the G Science stage.

Red gloves – flame elemental grunts

White sticks – electric elemental grunts

Eventually you’ll face off against Anna. Defeating her, and her ridiculous amount of minions, will unlock:

This will also give you access to the Central Subway Line.

Mishima Zaibatsu, Central Subway Line

Here you’ll be riding on a train, with elite military grunts swarming you periodically. To make this easier, several weapons will appear around the level and you can knock enemies off the sides of the train. Eventually you’ll face Nina, but it’s so easy to knock her off the train that this barely counts as a fight. Defeating her will raise Alisa’s AI to level 9 and unlock the Central Tower stage.

Mishima Zaibatsu, Central Tower

Here you’ll face wave after wave of elite military grunts, punctuated by Formidables. Defeating each Formidable will spawn health and other items around the arena. Keep an eye out for grunts in white armour appearing around the edges as they carry guns. Nina will eventually reappear, dressed all in leather for a change, but again this is a pretty easy fight. After defeating her, Jin appears again but is much more dangerous this time around. He can take out most of your health in one combo. There will also be elite gun guards around the sides of the arena that need to be taken out as soon as possible.

Sometime around now you’re likely to unlock:

And now you’re in real trouble...

After this fight is over, you’ll unlock the Mystic’s Village stage.

Mystic’s Village

Welcome to your firey hell. Fight your way down the path to a large circular arena. On either side will be some military grunts armed with guns. Take them down and they’ll drop weapons for you to use. Wipe out the repeating waves of grunts to clear the stage.

Azazel’s Temple, Central Corridor

You’ll start in a large arena. Directly behind you is a crate with a weapon in it. You’ll face wave after wave of elite enemies before entering the Temple. At the end of the passage you’ll fight Jin again, before heading into the open doors. Now the game gets all weird and you’ll find yourself fighting demons before Azazel makes itself known. Take him down then fight your way back out of the temple. A certain someone will be waiting for you outside.

Then you’ll fight Jin again. This time he’ll be massively overpowered and it’ll be a real struggle to best him. Fighting games sure love being cheap. Stand still and wait for the guards to rush you. Take them out then rush the gunners on either side of Jin. Then double team the hell out of him and hope you get lucky. The two crates nearest Jin contain weapons, which help a lot.

Eventually, you’ll beat him and unlock:

And if you think the gargoyles are bad, just wait until the boss shows up...

Your best bet is to save the minigun for the boss and try to knock them over the side of the train with it. The boss tends to show up with around 200 seconds left on the clock. Stand in one of the corners and aim to spray the minigun diagonally across the train as the boss reaches the area with the low walls. This should be enough to propel him up and over the edge for an “easy” victory.

Defeating him will raise Alisa’s AI to level 10 and unlock:

Now all we have left Offline is the Arena. In typical cheap fighting game style, you will absolutely breeze through to the final opponent with each character and then watch them turn into Superman for the final round. Changing the number of Rounds in the options to One really helps speed this up as they don’t get the 2nd round Superman syndrome. Lowering the time limit as low as possible also lets you get a couple of hits in then safely block until the time runs out. You shouldn’t feel bad about doing this; it’s no cheaper than the AI design for your opponent.
