The top three of our latest gameplay chart of the most popular Xbox games remains undisturbed this week. Just below, Palworld's drop from fourth to ninth — the lowest it's fallen yet, and the first time it's dropped from the top five — has made room for some other titles to move further up a spot or two, such as Rainbow Six Siege and Dead Island 2. The latter game joined Game Pass over a week ago, and while it's rising now, it's possible we'll soon see it fall as more of the new upcoming Game Pass games arrive. Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending March 3, 2024.

Elden Ring has moved up another spot to 18th. We saw a 78% spike in Xbox players in last week's chart following the release date announcement and new trailer for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and it seems players are still flocking back ahead of the expansion's arrival. Baldur's Gate 3 has jumped up by one place, and Bluey: The Videogame (another recent Game Pass addition, and a quick completion no less) is up by two spots to 23rd.

While other, older Game Pass titles aren't faring quite as well — Hell Let Loose has fallen to 25th — it's good news for newer additions such as Maneater, which has re-joined the top 40 at 27 after it was put back in Game Pass last week. Brotato has fallen again, dropping three more spaces this week to 30th, while Final Fantasy XIV, which made its first appearance in the top 40 last week after its open beta went live alongside a huge Xbox achievement list, has fallen eight spots to 34th. Just below, Space Engineers makes its debut appearance at 35th after it joined Game Pass last week, while Warframe (one of the best free Xbox games) is back in the top 40 at 36th. The Finals has managed to pull itself up to 38th to avoid falling out of the top 40, while Assassin's Creed Valhalla (which features in the latest Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks) is back at 39th. Lastly, Persona 3 Reload is just clinging on at 40th.

Looking ahead, while we have a bit of a wait on our hands for any major upcoming Xbox exclusives, we do have some great Game Pass games on the horizon, including Lightyear Frontier.
