I'd not played this before, so starting from the beginning took me half an hour, maybe more. As far as I could tell, there are no enemies to kill until chapter 2. The first one is just escaping chainsaw guy.
You get a gun on chapter 2 and are able to sneak up behind enemies and melee kill them.
Not sure if you can reload checkpoints after a kill, but if you've ploughed through chapter 1, it won't take as long through 2.
Same for me, took 25 - 30 mins on Casual being familiar with the opening. By the time you pick up weapon in Chapter 2 you will be in the area where you will get 7 kills.
After your first kill, Connelly, you can load your first save which is when you checked in with the nurse. Doing this it takes a little over 3 mins to kill Connelly again and reload the save. So, a little over 21 mins to get 6 more kills.
Those who decide these quests seriously lack of originality ! Always the same boring quests coming back ! It's at least the third time I did this quest so it will be the last for me because if you want to avoid achievements there is one for killing a total of 30 enemies.

Already own the game and I think popped an achievement for my giant bean dive a few years back so won’t matter when I get this but you aren’t wrong. They recycle the hell out of these quests

Further down there are 2 enemies near a house. I have a save point there that I just reload right outside of it. Kill the one (half the time my two bullets don’t cut it and I miss) run into house and in a bedroom there is 6 bullets. Kill both. Load checkpoint and repeat. Takes a couple minutes

Yeah, and they are often crappy quests that require a lot of grind. I would MUCH prefer an easy quest on a new game over a repeat quest. I might find a new game I like that way. I personally cannot even get through past the chainsaw guy to level 2 on this game. I am too impatient a gamer for these hide and seek, fear based games.
When u get to the first guy to shoot. Aim to shoot him in the body or legs. When he hits the ground, music will still be eery, shoot him in head or whatever and when u kill him quickly reload and you'll be back to cut scene just before it. Took me about 5 minutes roughly.
You'll know if you killed him as music stops so as soon as you deliver the killer shot just pause immediately and load
